We’re Back! Did You Miss Us?

The good news is that dear old MB is back online. Post away, and let’s hear how you spent your Saturdays!

Now here’s the bad news:

We didn’t manage to upgrade the software. Robert spent his Saturday trying to install three different versions of new WordPress software, each of which proved fatally flawed. As a result,

1. we haven’t been able to revive the “Recent Comments” sidebar; and

2. we’re going to have to go through the upgrade ordeal again in the near future.

The partially offsetting compensatory news is that we’ve stumbled across some new things that we think you like and plan to try them soon.

But not yet! It’s too nice a day here (and here, and here, and here).

I guess I’m the only one on yet. It’s 10:23 AM, local time. I had the stomach flu.
Felt all cold, had a headache, threw up in a bucket. Not much else to report.

I tried to post on numerous threads, screamed, ran around screaming, died.

I knitted some more cell phone cozies.

I cast on my fingerless mittens that I’m knitting – on four needles!

I sewed up some more cell phone cozies.

I went to Hobbycraft and bought more yarn.

    I thought about yarn.

Have you noticed that my Saturdays are spent knitting, other knitting related things, thinking about knitting, and Museblogging?

I finished my oil painting, or at least as much of it as I can do without waiting for it to dry, and doing another layer.

I did hours and hours of homework.

I practiced piano for what seemed like hours and hours.

I did hours and hours of research for Model UN.

Despite doing hours and hours of seemingly arduous things, it was a relatively good day! :)

GAPAs: are you ever going to show us that thing Rebecca said you were working on, that is somewhat similar to the Anti-Chatroom thread?

  8. Quintessentia says:

Winter term just ended–it only took 24.5 hours of vacation for me to walk over to Mom and ask if there were any chores she wanted me to do. My school keeps everyone so busy and stressed out all the time that we don’t even know how to relax when we have the luxury. I’m serious. I keep looking at the clock and thinking I have to go somewhere, or I catch myself thinking, “and I can probably get some homework done after this.”

In the past two days, I’ve cleaned a bathroom, vacuumed the entire house, made salads for dinner, put away my laundry, set aside all the clothes I’ve grown out of, made chili for dinner, done some dishes, and taken the dog out about 10 times (twice at midnight, because she is having…digestive issues XP).

And the blog was down yesterday, to my despair, or I might have spent a blissful hour perusing it. How in the world am I going to survive this vacation, which is more than two weeks long?! The worst part is that the more helpful I am (out of this arbitrary sense of obligation), the more my parents expect me to do. Rawr. Waaah…I want to go back to school!

I found that nothing new had happened on MB in the night.
    I finished reading my book.
I hung out on various other forums which I shall not name.
I tried to load MuseBlog with varying degrees of success.
I read “Beyond the Deepwoods”, which made me think of Canix for the first few pages but quickly changed.
I tried to load MuseBlog and failed.
I listened to “A Prairie Home Companion”.
    I made Green Goddess Dressing.
    I couldn’t load MuseBlog.
    I read some more.
    A friend come over.
We ate the strange cake that Opal had made.
We went and walked around town and looked at art galleries.
We sat in one of the art galleries and talked till 11.
    We went home.
    I read some more.
    I fell asleep.

And today, I have homework. Should have done it yesterday.
•Cornell notes (these I already begun, but I have to skim the book to make sure I didn’t miss anything)
•Organize my science binder (I could stand to organize the rest of my bag too)
•Math homework (shouldn’t take more than a few minutes)
•Chapters 18 and 20 of my health book. I think I will be scarred for life.

Aha. So that’s why it looked like the blog had been deleted when I tried to go on.
I spent Friday and Saturday at a children’s home–it’s kind of like an orphanage, except that the kids there had been abandoned by their parents, rather than their parents dying. The kids there range in age from 1 month to 18 years old. I spent most of my time there with the older girls–you would not believe how happy they were to see someone new. Anyway, ’twas a fun weekend.

Yesterday: I went to a science fair and spent most of my time there hanging out with penguini and illicitly exploring the middle school stage.
I went to this talk my parents were giving on lego league in our area and tried to help.
I walked around outside, jumping in puddles and eventually creating a place for mud sledding in the extremely wert ground in the backyard.
    I went online, wasting time.
I started to write a story based on the prompt “It was a dark and stormy night.” Haven’t finished that yet- don’t know where it’s going.
I practiced trombone, ate three meals, all that normal everyday stuff.

*Hands thank you pies and chocolate* *tells Chad to help, as he has not so far*

I did miss the blog, but I feel terrible for Robert. At certain times it looked like I could have posted, but I didn’t. I didn’t see any other posts from people, so I thought it a bad idea to even try…

Yesterday I was walking around in the rain in the morning (for a purpose) and walking around in the wind in the afternoon. Then, a huge cloud went over and we had strong winds and hail and pounding rain beating against the car while we were inside
