Ever since we installed the new blog software, some of you have been afflicted with comment boxes that get smaller and smaller until you can’t see what you’re trying to post.
Good news: a WordPress programmer is on the job and says he expects to solve the problem this week.
Of course, that will require another upgrade… *shudders*

It happens with IE7. I haven’t had any problems with Firefox.
Wow, that’s so weird! I’m glad it doesn’t happen to me.
To the victims — how quickly does it shrink?
(9) Once it starts, it shrinks with every keystroke. When I was setting up the screen captures, I discovered if you cut a sufficient amount of text, the box will start to get wider again when you type — but only briefly, then it starts to close in. The bottom scroll bar may pop up now and then as well.
Arrgh! Our comment boxes are being crushed into oblivion!
But it’s just Internet Explorer, right?
I haven’t been having any problems with Firefox.
I have no problem with the box. I use Firefox and I might have used Safari sometime recently.

The absense of the “Your Comment Is Awaiting Moderation” thing is really throwing me off…is there any way to bring it back, GAPAs?
I just had this problem for the first time. Hopefully the curse will pass soon, without too much work from the GAPAs!
No problems here. I have Firefox. I never use Internet Explorer.
I have IE, (unfortunately) but I haven’t been having any problems. Probably because my computer is ancient and doesn’t have IE7.
I have had no problems. I use opera.

Wow, I go away for a week and everything changes! Well, I’m on the library computer (surprise, surprise) since phone trouble at home, and, thus, internet problems…..
well, the comment bar is back, in some form at least….it loks so different, but congrats to the GAPAs, you got it working at least!! And the new subtitle for the main page of MB is pretty funny, although I rather miss the unobtrusive old-style..
I don’t appear to be having any trouble with the coment bar, but IE here is different than at home, so I don’t know what to expect.
Well, I’m off to check other threads and make a nusiance of myself elsewhere!!

I think the comment boxes are evolving. Like that Stephen King novel, Cell.
AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! mine just went POOF! when I was typing a comment. It went into oblivion just as i finished the last word, so I went ahead and submitted it, and it seems to have worked all right, but it was disturbing. It goes so fast, and then it’s gone….weird.
Scratch that, the comment in which the comment box went away just vanished….huh.
Well, not the actual BOOK, but the people who are Cellphonized in it.
I read the book and had nightmares for a week.
However, When I went to the main page…It took about twice as long as usual and had weird weird colours. It’s OK now. *is relieved*
The comment boxes become un-shrinkified if you use the google toolbar spellcheck, for the duration of the spellchecking period… at least then you can see what you’ve been writing! However, this may have caused my comment beforehand to disappear, so I’m not sure how useful it will be…
Because I am a wimp, I have not read Cell.
26 – I just checked, and it currently said it’s set on Medium. Then again, it may be just the other computer that has a problem. I’m not exactly sure.

Well, after the post that I had shrinkage on, then disappeared, has now re-appeared. Very strange. Maybe the bunnies that Rebecca has unleashed on the random thread are making all this trouble….Nah, I don’t think so. I do, however, think that they are trying to telepathecally communicate with me through my iPod earphones– what else wold explain that little hot pink spot that appeared on them?! But that’s a different story altogether…..

Are the comments not shrinking? I haven;t had any trouble with them tonight, but then, I’ve been making a lot of short posts too. Oh, I just did and experiment- they are. It’s eerie the way they just vanish like that. *shivers* Maybe the HPBs, maybe.
My comment shrinking goes on and off, but once it’s off it tends to stay off for a while. Until it comes back again. How strange.

58 – Yeah, it’s annoying. It’s been happening less frequently for me, though, mostly only when I copy and paste large amounts of text.
59-The odd thing for me is, it doesn’t shrink when the text is copied, say, from Word. So I use Word for long posts that might get even longer…
60 – I tend to use Notepad, and it still ends up shrinking. Strange.
Yeah, mine shrinks, but then I am using IE something or other–dunno what number. I s’pose I could switch over to firefox, we recently downloaded it for the computer, or (if mom weren’t home and I weren’t supposedly composing mass numbers of journal entries for my LOTR course–which I ought to be doing–I’ll be done with eng. except for the final as soon as I finish the journal) switch to the mac, which has safari. oh, well, whatever.

Your right….I’m using Firefox now–and the problem is cured! Yay!!!! Although now it’s got the stupid spell-check lines, like Safari….Supposedly ‘yay’ is spelled wrong….shows what they know.

Must’ve been–it’s working without them. Anyway, I just said that my box doesn’t shrink now that I’ve switched to Firefox, so that is good.

Woah, that’s weird….My comments where my name contained symbols disappeared on my screen after being submitted–as in they didn’t show up saying “comment awaiting moderation” but now they are magically there and moderated….Freaky.
Luna- Comments often disappear when they are being moderated. By the way, Pounduna Poundovely doesn’t have much of a ring to it. Oh, wait. You posted in May. Oh, well. Empty threads are fun. ECHO echo echo echo…..
