GAPAs, I have absolutely no idea why, but the “she’ll do all the cooking” made me cry.
I confess that I’m actually not making my own cake, for three reasons:
1. The Tango Cafe birthday cake is too good to pass up. It’s so good. Heavenly, no joke. In my opinion. It’s chocolate layer cake with fudge-chocolate frosting, with a layer of peaches, a layer of dulce de leche, a layer of something else, not really sure, it’s probably 8 inches high. And it’s unbelievably spiffy.
2. I was going to make a Cook’s Illustrated recipe for strawberry layer cake, but the strawberries are a bit late this year, so I’m doing that for my dad’s birthday in a month.
3. I’ve been sick, so I’m not really up to much.
My MuseDay is coming up! I first read muse sometime in arpril of 2005
Since when do you get to do all the cooking? I said I wasn’t making my own cake – that means I won’t be doing all the cooking. But I still plan on making supper and something to take to school for my friends. ‘Course, that’ll be today, not tomorrow.
Yes, it made me cry, but it didn’t make me sad. I don’t honestly know why I cried.
My 2-year blogiversary is April 18th. Wow. I didn’t realized I had first posted only 7 months after MuseBlog began.

I’m home sick again today. And that’s not even the most horrible news. The Tango Cafe doesn’t make the Argentinean birthday cake anymore. So I can’t have it, obviously. Incidentally, here is a recipe for a grurple pie.
Make two pies.
Pie One:
1/2 cup fresh lime juice (3 to 4 limes)
4 teaspoons grated lime zest
4 egg yolks
1 – 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
11 graham crackers
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1. Whisk the egg yolks and lime zest together in a bowl until tinted light green. This takes about 2 minutes
2. Beat in milk, then juice and set aside at room temperature till it thickens.
3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
4. Mix graham cracker crumbs and sugar in another bowl.
5. Add butter and stir with a fork until well blended.
6. Pour this mixture into a 9-inch pie pan and press over the bottom and up the sides of the pan. Try using the bottom of a measuring cup to make sure the graham cracker mixture forms a firm crust on the bottom of the pie pan.
7. Bake on the center rack for about 15 minutes until the crust is lightly brown, remove and let cool to room temperature.
8. Pour the lime filling into crust, spread evenly, and then bake for 15 minutes until the center sets, but still wiggles when shaken.
9. Remove from oven and cool to room temperature.
10. Refrigerate for at least three hours until well chilled.
Pie Two:
Shell: Line 10 inch pie plate with crushed graham crackers and melted butter.
Filling:Put the following ingredients into large bowl and beat until smooth:
1 lb. cream cheese
2 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. sour cream
After mixing pour contents into uncooked shell and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Turn off oven and leave pie in for 1 hour, with door slightly open, to cool. When cool, place in refrigerator overnight.
Glaze: 1 can tart boysenberry fruit. Drain juice from fruit and add 3 tablespoons cornstarch to juice. Cook over low heat or in double boiler until thickened. Pour fruit into this mixture. Pour over pie immediately and let cool. Place pie in refrigerator until ready to serve.
Once both pies have been prepared, place both in Chad’s Interchromomorphic Agitator (available at hardware stores throughout Zemtee, Museica, Muserland, and the Pieceful Pie Planet; also select locations in the Oasis) and agitate for 14 minutes on medium potency. Re-heat, inject essence of congratulation and throw warm.
