April Fools’ Day Planning Thread

As you know, MuseBlog likes to do something special to celebrate April 1. Last year, we Administrators have been crunched for time, so we reopened the popular SquidBlog. That’s what we’re planning to do again this year unless enterprising MBers intervene.

Here’s what we’re thinking: As Millennials, you all are famously computer-literate, and some of you even have degrees in computer science. So if you were to collaborate, you could probably cook up a pretty amazing April Fools’ Day website. On the big day, we could redirect MuseBlog traffic to the new site, and at the end of the day we could switch it back. Sound like fun?

Or we could all be space squids again. That option has much to recommend it, too. The way we see it, we really can’t lose. Thoughts?

That’s bizarre–I was literally just thinking, “I wonder what MB’s gonna do for April Fool’s this year.”

Hmmm…. The first thing that popped into my head was being transported to Kokonino County, though I’m not sure about the details.

Could we make everything appear upside-down?

I should probably note that it’s unlikely that non-work-related code is going to flow from my half-fried brain to my shaky fingers anytime in the next month or so. I love the responsibility they’re giving me so early on, but it is just that – things I am responsible for learning and doing. With the long commute and longer hours, I haven’t been getting enough sleep to have spare cycles to devote to much of anything. I barely have the time to check MB, at this rate, and while I hope that changes I don’t know when it will. Best of luck to whoever does have the time to work on this!
