So what else is new in the new year? Any resolutions or predictions you’d like to report?
Patience, Please
This site is under reconstruction and will look strange for a while. We regret the inconvenience.
So what else is new in the new year? Any resolutions or predictions you’d like to report?
I myself have a resolution– to rejoin the honorable and wonderful game of PAKER!
Anyway–this is for Neophytes–welcome, and pies, but it is my duty to tell you that this post is for a second reason–to inform of the PoPoPo’s, or Pointless Post Police’s wishes to maintain orders by not blindly yelling “first post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” or something of the sort. Thank you for reading and HAVE FUN!!
deux mille neuf! i knew three years of Fench would pay off eventually!
My resolution is to maybe join an RPG. I tried BA but in a day there were a hundred new posts.
stop biting my fingenails. its been my resolution for several years. i’ve only broken it twice this year! it might have a little to do with the fact i was wearing mittens for the greater part of yesterday.
rejoining BA sounds like a good idea.
My resolution is to redesign the battle systems for any turn-based RPGs with bad bat. systems so they’re perfect.
My resolution is to practice my viola more, and actually study for all latin tests and quizzez, its gonna be hard…
I resolve to help others in general and participate in the International Year of Astronomy.
My resolutions are to write 1/2 hour a day and to stop swearing.
I don’t know if I can even remember all my resolutions.
1. Paint, clean, and organize my room.
2. Keep it that way!
3. Deal with school to the point where it’s not torture
4. Cut my hair
5. Go on the Adventuress
6. Finish all my projects
7. Have adventures
[a few more]
Resolution- Actually study before tests. And maybe start paying attention in English class…
My resolution is the same one it has always been: create more.
8- It helps to find a completely innocuous word or phrase that doesn’t turn up frequently in everyday speech and say it whenever you feel stressed, with the same feeling you would put into a swear word. You could, for instance, shout “Blistering barnacles!” like Captain Haddock from Tintin does.
8/12-I say “platypus/duckmole.”
12 – Like “cake”.
MY RESOLUTION: To procrastinate less.
Yes, really.
3- BA though, is the most active and directed RPG around. A whole year (almost) old and still getting better. I brag about BA though. Well, I’ve witnessed all its growth. From the beginning.
Syllabub– Join BA. It’s less fastpaced now, since fewer people are participating. It’s really great.
I don’t have any New Years resolutions in particular….
I don’t make resolutions.
Except not to attack and fight with my brother so much.
You’re in FL, Armada? *squees* I live in FL!
(8, 12, and others) Last night I dreamed up a new exclamation that Captain Haddock might have liked. (GAPAs have entertaining dreams, as you can imagine.) It’s “Smoldering shirtsleeves!”
Sensing that verbs ending in “er” make good raw material for oathlike outbursts (remember
Daffy DuckSylvester and his “Suffering succotash!”), I woke up and quickly coined two more: “Festering fescue!” and “Sweltering simooms!”Feel free to add your own. There are plenty of verbs to work with: barter, banter, canter, saunter, hinder, glister, sinter, shiver, wither…
(Moldering mulberries, I’d better stop before I use them all up!)
19- Wasn’t that Sylvester? Or maybe it was both…
You’re right! It was Sylvester the Cat, Tweety Bird’s would-be nemesis.
(19) Nattering nematodes! You’re on to something!
Striking, isn’t it? Shivering coelacanths, you’d think MBers would have joined the fun by now.
…simper, solder, blubber, hammer, yammer, stammer, shimmer…
Jittering jam-jars! I can’t believe I’m the first MBer to start into this!
Hovering helibunnies, it’s POSOC! Welcome aboard, laddie.
…waver, quaver, quiver, lumber, slumber, clamber, caper…
Shimmering silver snakes!
This is quite fun. Wavering waterspouts, as it was.
Quivering quills! Slumbering squee-sounds!
Blubbering bubblefish, this is fun!
(26) Welcome! I think either “shimmering sea snakes” or “shimmering silverfish” would have a better rhythm, though. Notice how many of these are nautical? Capt. Haddock would approve.
Shuddering shibboleths, it’s nice to have company.
…gibber, jabber, clobber, auger, snicker, flicker, bicker, nicker…
MMIXed Museblogers this is fun!
29-
Blubbering bole weevils! Frivolous friskets! Jam-covered junipers! Aboriginal agelasts!
Like, seriously, I could do this all day long.
“-er” verbs only, please: that’s the game we’re playing at the moment. Alliteration alone is not enough.
…todder, dodder, blither, blether…
Hmm… Floundering ferrets! Snickering shark fins! Blathering bouncing bats! Capering crumpets! Stammering stampedes! Hammering Hamptonshire Hams! Cantering camels! Shivering ship’s biscuits!
Slobbering slumgullion! What a profusion of prototypical profanity.
…stutter, stammer, slather, lather…
Tottering troglodytes!
The good captain would certainly approve.
Terrifying tehuantepecers!
Wind names are nicely both obscure, and salty sounding.
Blithering boreas!
Good ones! We’ve got to try some of these in public.
…tamper, tinker, scamper, pilfer, bluster, muster, whimper, simper, murder…
Murdering mackerels!
Tottering turtles!
Blithering biscuits!
Puckering prune pits, I think she’s got it!
Tinkering trilobites!
Or we could take the Hermes Conrad (of Futurama fame) approach: “Sweet gorilla of Manila!” Stuttering starfish this is fun.
Puttering penguins! I think I killed this thread!
