Happy Spring!

According to the U.S. Naval Observatory, the Vernal Equinox occurs today (Friday, March 20) at 6:44 a.m. blog time. We’re ready for spring. How about you?

(Of course, our friends in the Southern Hemisphere are having an entirely different experience.)

It’s felt like Spring for the past month, off and on. The crocuses and snowdrops and daffodils are blooming. But it’s still cold, and still hails at unreasonable times. I doubt the official arrival of spring will change things.

1–I never got a real winter……So I am happy to be going home, where it will hopefully still be winter-ish. I’m not ready for spring, as I never got any snow…….I”m still waiting for winter.

Our weather can’t make up it’s mind. We had a warm weekend two weeks back, then it got freezing, then warm again. It snowed this morning, then it got warm when the sun came out.

All hail Spring, whenever it may come!!

I once created this, about a well-known rhyme about spring…

(New Englander) April showers bring May flowers!
(SoCalian) :?: April showers?! The only showers are in December and January!
    (Floridite) :) Hear, hear!
 Um, guys, it’s just a-
:?: And there are flowers all year round! What’s so special about the ones in May?
:) And the nonexistent rains in April?
 -> Guys, seriously, stuff your pieholes and let me continue with-
    :) & :?: *maul  *

Hehe. Seriously, it’s really strange for me to see rain in the summer.

It’s still cold where I am, and I’m not sure why. It’s nearly April, for Pete’s sake, the flowers are blooming, but it’s still 30 degrees out!

It was beautiful here today. I’m hoping this temperature will stick around for a while instead of rocketing to the eighties as soon as we hit April, as usual.

    Hurrah for spring!

It was actually warm for some parts of this weekend, although that was constantly alternating with pouring rain. I can’t wait until the clouds are gone for good. I need my sunshine.

Goodness me. I am wishing it were more like spring. We had some uncharicteristically warm weather a while back but right now it’s kinda chilly. I am so tired of winter. I hate winter so much. Especially when it needs to be spring. And my lips are so chapped. They usually aren’t. so basically I am wishing it were spring.

Here in NC it’s starting to get warmer and the daffodils and crocuses are blooming.

In the winter we had a couple days in the 70s. (With snow on the weekends!!) Weather here is odd sometimes.

it has been pretty warm here (in MN) but today it is snowing. A peaceful snow. Just a few flakes here and there, they dont stick to the ground but its nice. Im pretty sure we’ll get one last big snow before its spring for good.

  30. In my part of NC our spring weather has also been yo-yoing like crazy. Today is back to chilly enough to bundle up.

The cherries are especially pretty, though the grey, rainy days have somewhat muted their effect.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  31. Alice says:

30- There’s no yo-yoing here. It’s all the same: drizzle, rain, hail, and the occasional glimpse of blue sky that is later obliterated by the dark grey clouds which then remember that they’re supposed to dump rain on us, and do so. Why is it more wintry in Spring that in Winter? Oh wait. Now I remember. It’s like this all year round.

Sorry for the bitterness. I just want to go for a nice dry bike ride in shorts or a skirt without seven layers of socks, tights, pants, etc. underneath. I want to go to bed and not be able to sleep for the heat. I want to wear flip-flops. I want to bike out on the railroad tracks until I have to abandon my bike and go on on foot. I want to lay in the yard and look at the stars (we never see stars in Winter). I want to wake up feeling hot and clammy with the sunshine blinding me through my window and wear tank-tops and cotton blouses and long airy dresses. I’m TIRED OF WINTER!!!!

It’s freezing. Winter is on its way- early. Really early. So very, very early… Brr. I’m wrapped up in blankets on my bed because my aunt refuses to turn on the heating until mid-May. It’s sleeting outside and some poor bloke is trying to walk home in it. I was hiking up a mountain for a while but came down because it was about 10 times colder up there and I couldn’t feel my nose or feet at all.
