Life, the universe, pies, hot-pink bunnies, world domination, and everything
Closed game… *is nosy* Who’s winning?
Nobody has made a move yet. You’ll see the game; you just won’t be able to play it.
Why’s it called “Eterna-ment?” I appreciate the nifty pun, but what’s eternal about it?
Erm, is there any sort of signing in I need to do, or do I just play?
Did you get the email?
No. When was it sent?
Scratch that. It hath arrived.
(3) Have you noticed how long chess games take here on the blog? Some of these could last for decades.
Piggy, your move.
WOAH!!! *stares at board* Is that… checkmate???? OH MY GOSH! I WON!!!!!!!!!! (sorry, I suck at chess normally)
It is, right?
(7) I’m afraid not, RQ. Piggy can’t move his king out of check, but he can still get out of check by blocking your bishop.
Awwww. But it’s going to be anyway. Heh, heh.
Not doing so well, eh, RoseQuartz? Sorry, I probably have more experience than you at chess. I was one of a four-way tie for first place in our third-grade chess tournament (not sure how that happened).
Hm. I learned a lot in third grade. Cursive, multiplication, long division, and, thanks to an excellent teacher, chess. Plus the teacher gave out free books as rewards to well-behaved students. I got her all-time record–fourteen books over the course of the year. I think I still have them all, too.
Oh, shoot. I just realized that I made a really stupid move.
Sheesh, I’m terrible at this.
Oh, wow, I just realized how bad of a move that was. *headdesk*
RoseQuartz and others playing Black:
Just in case you haven’t discovered it yourself, the fifth button from the left (the one with the two curved arrows) lets you flip the board so you see it from Black’s point of view.
Alas for Black! 15. … Qg3 would have been checkmate. Both of you have to be more careful.
Wow, how did I not see that? I’ll be more careful, sir. *hangs head in shame*
RoseQuartz, your move.
RooooseQuartz…
Sorry. I haven’t gotten too much computer time lately.
It is now your move.
Why 23. Qxc3 instead 23. Qxd6 with checkmate on the next move? Patience isn’t always a virtue.
How would that have been checkmate?
24. Qe7 would have been checkmate. Often a queen supported by a bishop is all you need to “smother” the king.
RoseQuartz’s turn; only two moves are possible.
Argh, I’m SO bad at chess.
Good game, RoseQuartz.
Not really on my part… but yeah, good game.
