It’s like any other chess game, but with much more firepower. I also suspect the kings can’t castle, there being no rooks for the purpose.

why do half of the pieces look the same?
That’s what Turbo Chess is. It’s just a variation on normal chess.
By the way, don’t bother to ask anyone off the blog about Turbo Chess. I invented it myself.
Our chess software allows us to customize the board with many different arrangements of standard pieces. If you want to play a game with knights and bishops reversed, or with all knights, you can. I’m not sure whether it lets you play with no pawns, but we could try.
Oh, kool! That’s really neat! Is that why me dad was so cunfuzzled when I asked him if he knew how to play Turbo Chess?
Now the question is if the game will go faster, due to pieces being more mobile, or if the game goes slower, because there are better chances to block and put the opponent in check.
I think it’ll go faster. Usually, players are reluctant to trade because they fear they won’t have enough attack force left. This way, they will. I think this game will end in a draw.

I don’t think there’s much point in having a game if the opponent won’t move the pieces.
