    Cover: Oooh. Pretty.

Dear Muse Reader: Interesting. The variety of NaK’s pages never ceases to fascinate me.

Contents: Even after reading the issue, I don’t know if I’m entirely sure what the staff column words are referring to. The Last Page? I’ve also noticed this style of Mystery Quote, a random onomatopoeic selection, seems to happen somewhat often. That makes Piggy uninterested. I’m glad they clarified the Newton’s Laws stuff. That confused me when I read it.

Bo’s Page: Eh, the false fact was pretty easy. It seemed the most general, the most uneventful. Like it was trying to hide.

Muse Mail: I agree with Mathew S., age 14, U.S.A. concerning article material.

Kokopelli & Company: Chad’s up to his old monster-creating tricks again.

“Living Machines” by ?: Now that was an interesting article, in my opinion. It should’ve been a lot longer, though. Who wrote it? No credit is given anywhere. But I did notice a minor mistake: at the beginning it labels the Lego blocks in this manner: yellow = A, blue = C, red = T, and pink = G, or so implies the caption (to me). But in all the examples it links yellow with pink (A to G) and red to blue (T to C), which is incorrect. I doubt many others will notice it, but that’s just what I do.

“DIY Bio” by Phil McKenna, art by Annie Preston: Didn’t fascinate me quite as much as “Living Machines”, but it still taught me a lot of new information that I found very interesting. Muy bien.

“Empty Stree, Blank Canvas” by James D. Griffioen: An interesting follow-up on an article done a long time ago. (Thanks for mentioning that, editors.) Not my absolute favorite sort of subject, but it still kept me reading the entire time. The sideways font rather bugged me, as turning the magazine every minute or two to read the captions becomes tiresome, but I think it was still a fitting choice to go with the “artistic” theme.

Muserology: “Reading Between the Dots” by Brittany Metts: Wow. I can’t imagine reading Muse in Braille. I was somewhat disappointed that the Braille-like explanation of the author’s picture was so cut and dry. I think it could’ve been spiced up, made funny or something. But that’s just me.

“From Fossils to Flesh”, an interview with Tyler Keillor: I don’t know if I’ve seen an interview format in Muse before. I enjoyed the fact that it was the artist who did the model for Tiktaalik rosea.

Q&A, by Robert Coontz and Rebecca Lasley: Haven’t we had a question about birds flying in a V? Or am I thinking of something else?

“Not Measuring Up” by Burkhard Bilger, art by Sam Bosma: Another very Muserly topic, I say. Extremely interesting. Me gusta. And Crraw taught me a new word: folderol!

Contest Winners – “Memory Artist”: I’m sure you’ve all heard my thoughts on the contests. Eh.

Last Page: “Love and Interior Decorating: An Imagined Conversation Between Bowerbirds”: Hee hee hee. In addition to the conversation, I love Pwt’s and Crraw’s shared look of cluelessness.

    So yep. That’s my review.

I forgot to mention that this month’s issue of Popular Science had a thing about the E. coli light-sensitive picture thing as well. But since that arrived one day later than did Muse, you guys beat them to it.

I don’t have enough time/am too lazy to do an in-depth thing of the issue….but I have no say I really enjoyed it. Muse‘s standards seem to be raising again. This issue is definitely as good as one from ’07. I’m very happy about that. ^^

Cover:Really good picture of lego dna.
First page: I enjoyed it. It was very funny, escpecially the one on magizines.
Bo’s page:I thought the false story,Apatosaurophant, was very believable,it fooled me.
Kokopelli & Company:Chads back with monters, instead of machines.Sadly no pie throwing.
Living machines:My vote for best article since I started,Jan. 08.I wish they went into a lot more detail, but I understand that they need more than 1 article.
DIY BIO:Not as good as 1st article, gave a lot of cool facts about home scientist.
Empty Street Blank Canvas:A very good put together article.Except you have to flip your magizine sideways to read the many captions.
Muserology:I liked it.I think it would stink to have to get Muse in braile.I think it would be a hard job to be a librarian.
From Fossils to Flesh:I have been facinated in dinosaurs since I was a little kid, so it gets an A+ from me.I think its the first interveiw I’ve seen in muse.
Q&A:Good quetions and very in depth answers.
Not measuring up:A very interesting article about us Americans height average not growing.
Last page:The bird conversation made me laugh out loud.
Hope you enjoyed my review and if you liked it tell me because im going to do it every month or 2 months, depends.

I just can’t beleive that they actually published Sadie P.’s letter. How could they possibly suggest an entire issue or even an article about pit bulls???? They should have replaced that entire letter with a  !!!!!! I know, HPBs only replace things that say that either dogs asre better than cats or cats are better than dogs, but this was basically saying that dogs are superior to all animals, which includes cats.

Dear Muse Reader: that was the funniest in a while.

Bo’s page: I thought the false fact was cool, since i think back in the old days (like six years ago) the Q&A had a question about dinosaur trunks. Unfortunately it was, of course, the false fact.

Letters:Some were interesting, a few were stupid, and one i couldn’t understand at all and I have absolutely no idea why the editors printed it.

    Koko and Co.: classic.

Living machines: i thought that was pretty cool. There have been a few times when muse articles have been about contests and competitions and that sort of thing, which are always interesting to read. Of course this doesn’t quite compare to that thing about cheese rolling a while back, but then again you can only be so bizzarre so many times.

DIY bio:Interesting subject but boring article.

Empty street, blank canvas: That was really cool. I thought that the article was well written and it was a cool subject.

Muserology: Bleh. The writing was ok in the first part, but as it went on it became sloppy. not one of my favorite Muserologies.

From fossils to flesh: I was surprised to see the interview format, in the six or so years I’ve been subscribing I don’t think I’ve ever seen one. For some reason, on the three or so occasions when I’ve read a muse article involving reconstructing people (or animals) from bones, it’s always a good article.

Q&A: I feel like i saw the first question answered before, possibly in muse but maybe not. So it wasn’t all that interesting, but I did like the second one.

Not measuring up: I love it when they print articles about obscure things throughout history, like baths in the february issue or fashion in that issue forever ago. Or hieght.

Contest: I always prefer the writing ones, but this was ok.

Last page:Random, of course, and very funny.
