What’s happened so far:
You find yourself in ROOM. Exits are NORTH and EAST.>Exit ROOM by EAST.
You are in HALLWAY. There is a WINDOW with closed blinds. At the end of the hall there is a STAIRCASE. Exits are WEST and NORTH.

You are in AUDITORIUM. The lights are all off, but you can see a PIANO on the STAGE. The air feels musty. Exits are SOUTH.

For this story, I am the game and Choklit Orange is the player. CO, make a reply to this comment (not any sub-replies or separate comments) to continue the game. I actually do have a map planned out, as well as an idea of a storyline, but it’s more or less made up as I go along. We’ll see how well this goes.
You can't reach the PIANO.Walk on to STAGE.You are on the STAGE. There is a PIANO in the middle that is closed. You can see a DOOR on stage left with a small sign on it. Above you is a CATWALK.Examine DOOR.On the door is a small sign that says, "No Admittance. Employees Only." It appears to be quite old. The doorknob is covered in dust, and the door is locked.Walk onto CATWALK.You can't reach the CATWALK.Fine, fine.

Examine PIANO.You can feel that there is no dust on the piano, in stark contrast to the otherwise dust-covered stage. You can't see much else in the darkness, but you play a few echoey notes and hear that it's in tune.Exit SOUTH. Enter HALLWAY. Open WINDOW blinds.Through the window you see a large, shrub-filled, enclosed courtyard. It is nighttime. You notice that you are on the second floor, and you can just make out the shape of a door on the opposite side of the courtyard, on the ground floor. There are no other windows on any of the walls.((Hold on, hold on, I’m a bit confused. Is the stairway in the hallway the northern exit? Because I went down the staircase and ended up in the auditorium, and then I went out the south exit and ended up back in the hallway, which leads me to think that the south exit out of the auditorium is the north exit out of the hallway, unless both the staircase and the northern exit lead to the auditorium (which makes no sense, since the staircase would have to go up or down a floor and the northern exit wouldn’t), or the northern exit and the staircase are the same exit, in which case why doesn’t the auditorium have a main door?))

You cannot gleen any more information from book, as the illustrations are accompanied by text that you cannot read.
Exit WEST. Exit NORTH.You face FOREST. There is a much light from the sun, but you can still make out SMALL LIGHT glimmering like a star from the inside of the forest. HOUSE is now beside you, and you can make out FENCE behind you.Enter FOREST.You walk into FOREST, and as you walk toward SMALL LIGHT, you can see that SMALL LIGHT is ORB floating about 10 feet above the ground. Below ORB is a humanoid creature about 4 1/2 feet tall. He stares at you, a statue except for the movement of his eyes following you.Greet humanoid, amazement in voice."I greet you back, peer" The short humanoid says in an indescribable accent. "I led you here-yes, I did- because I need a task of you. You will be subsequently rewarded, but it will be dangerous.You see, this orb here-" He gestures to the orb hanging above his head, "has a twin, needed for its powers to realize. However, this twin has been stolen by the frost giant Thryx, and is now the centerpiece of his amulet. Will you aid me in this, and retrieve it for me?"
As he says this, he gestures with his hand and the illusion of a giant with a glowing amulet appears before you. He awaits your decision.

As you crawl through the hole, you notice that the forest has completely morphed into a grassland, without a tree in sight beyond the fence. As soon as you touch the rift, the world changes. A moment later, you've appeared back in the Tower. You step out from under the stone arch and into a small cell, designed to hold the portal and devoid of anything else useful.There are rocks on the floor to the EAST

Examine ROCKS.There aren't very many ROCKS on the ground, maybe half a dozen. They're all somewhere around the size of a walnut, and look like they'd be good for thrwing with a sling. You can't tell whether they fell naturally from the wall in front of you or whether someone dug them out for reasons unknown.While turning over the rocks, you discover a WHISTLE beneath one.

There was a rope tied to the arch in the room, which you used to pull yourself back through the rift.

You emerge into a ROOM.The outside of the BOX glows gently with the same light as the inside. There are two other BOXES in the room, one on each side of yours, but they are lightless and gray. Each BOX rests on a kind of PLINTH or PLATFORM, with a KEYBOARD on the side.
The ROOM is dark but for the feeble illumination of the BOX. You can discern a TABLE a little way in front of you, but the OBJECTS on it are obscured.
As a point of clarification, you have not yet the slightest idea who ROSENCRANTZ and GUILDENSTERN are, or their current VITAL STATUS. You are uncertain of many things at this point in your LIFE, even of your own NAME.
Walk over to TABLE, examine OBJECTS.As you approach, a LIGHT flickers to life on the ceiling, shining down on the TABLE. A MUSICAL VOICE addresses you, though you can see no one else in the room.Welcome, Inhabitant,"

Though these are the first words you have heard in your short life, you understand them perfectly.There are three OBJECTS on the TABLE: an APPLE, a GLASS OF WATER, and a PILE OF NEATLY FOLDED CLOTHING. You can tell because the OBJECTS are clearly labeled with the words "Apple," "Water," and "Clothes" respectively.
The new LIGHT allows you to see a LADDER affixed to the far wall, beyond the TABLE.

I put on the CLOTHES, put the APPLE in my pocket, and drink the WATER. I turn back to examine the other BOXES.You have added the CLOTHES and APPLE to your INVENTORY.The CLOTHES are a simple, practical outfit, although whoever provided them has sadly neglected FOOTWEAR. They are made of some kind of seamless white FABRIC and fit comfortably, as if tailored.
The APPLE is red and ripe, about the size of two fists close together. The LABEL saying "Apple" appears to be bonded with the fruit's skin.
The WATER is cool and refreshing. You did not realize how thirsty you were until you drank it.
The BOXES are shaped more like lozenges than blocks, smooth and rounded with no sharp edges or corners. Each rests on a PLATFORM a little lower than your waist, with a KEYBOARD or CONTROL PANEL and SCREEN raised at an angle a few inches above the surface of the PLATFORM. All three SCREENS are presently dark.
Climb LADDER.The LADDER leads upward through the ceiling and into a cramped vertical PASSAGE. As you ascend, your WEIGHT noticeably decreases, until you are not so much climbing as pulling yourself along in a direction we will continue to refer to, for the sake of clarity, as UP.When you reach the EXIT, you are almost completely weightless. You drift off the last rung of the LADDER into a long cylindrical CORRIDOR.
Behind you is a large circular DOOR. Above you, and to either side, are PASSAGES which seem identical to the one you just exited, except they point LEFT, RIGHT and UP instead of DOWN, respectively. In front of you, the CORRIDOR stretches into the distance. There are a number of DOORS in the WALLS further along. The space you are in is WELL LIT, and the WALLS are white and gleaming.
Attempt to open DOOR.The DOOR has no visible opening mechanism but for a PANEL slightly offset from the center. It is about the width of your spread HAND.Put HAND on PANEL.You hear a VOICE that seems to emanate from the WALLS."Welcome, C-" The second word is cut off by a horrible screech of STATIC. Mechanisms judder and rumble within the DOOR, but it remains obstinately SHUT. The VOICE continues. "Access Strongly Discouraged at this time. Important business elsewhere."Go LEFT.

You are about halfway along the EXTENSIVE PASSAGE when you realize that it is GRAVITY making itself felt again, in a different direction. There is insufficient room to turn around, but with the help of the LADDER attached to the WALL you manage to DESCEND without falling ignominiously and hitting your head on the FLOOR.You find yourself in a ROOM. You would guess that it is of similar dimensions to the one you exited, but as it is PITCH DARK you cannot be sure. The only illumination is a VERY FAINT LIGHT from the PASSAGE through which you just entered.
Walk FORWARD, feeling with HANDS.You bump into a hard, oblong OBJECT a little lower than your waist, bruising your shin. It feels similar in shape to the BOXES in the room you emerged from.You can EXAMINE objects in the dark, but you will receive only tactile and auditory information.
Examine OBJECT.The OBJECT is a BOX, identical to the one you AWOKE in except that it is not presently GLOWING. On the PLINTH supporting it are a KEYBOARD, a SCREEN, and a BUTTON embossed with some kind of SYMBOL. The SYMBOL is too small for you to get a clear impression of its form by touching it.Press BUTTON.If nothing happens, return to corridor and go FORWARD.
The SYMBOL on the button lights up as you press it. You can see that it consists of three interlocking TRIANGLES. The SCREEN comes to life, lines of incomprehensible code streaming across it briefly before it displays an IMAGE: a silver HAND reaching upward, backgrounded by the same three TRIANGLES in green. Above the HAND are the words "E.A.S. Audacity."After a few seconds, the IMAGE changes again, to simple white LETTERS on a black background. It reads thus:

The first one is marked MAINTENANCE; the second STORAGE; the third ECOLOGY. The circular DOOR ahead is marked TRANSIT in very small letters.Attempt to enter ECOLOGY door.At the turn of a HANDLE, it opens outward. Inside, you can see a PASSAGE, with a LADDER going down one WALL and a row of dim LEDs on the opposite WALL. Go towards the LIGHT.The LIGHT gets brighter as you DESCEND, and the GRAVITY increases. When you reach the bottom of the LADDER, you find yourself in a place unlike anywhere else in your experience. For a minute, you literally cannot process the rich, damp GREENERY surrounding you. But you soon gather your thoughts enough to LOOK AROUND or TAKE OTHER ACTIONS.((May I do this? It appears to be more substanial than normal clouds, as evidenced by the ROPE that is tied around it, but it it looks normal. You stand up on your BED. You hear the BEDFRAME creak as you do so, but you have a better view. To your NORTH, there is a BUREAU with a turned off TELEVISION and a REMOTE. To your WEST, there is a window with closed BLINDS. To your SOUTH there is the head of the bed. To your EAST there is a door.
Open BLINDS.Push BUTTON.KOPPARYou push the BUTTON on the LEFT. Lights turn on in the room. You now see that the wall to the EAST has a blank screen on it. All other walls are empty. The wall to the NORTH has another BUTTON as well as a KEYBOARD. The KEYBOARD seems to be INACTIVE at the moment. You notice that lining the WEST wall there seems to be a small seam. Perhaps you will eventually find an EXIT there, but there does not seem to be any method of doing so at the moment.

Perhaps a more exact representation of the time is in order?

You push the ON BUTTON on the REMOTE. The TELEVISION turns on. It says it is on CHANNEL 43. However, all it shows at the moment is a still image which seems to be a random frame from a TELEVISION SHOW. It is utterly INCOMPREHENSIBLE to you at the moment. You listen carefully, and can hear a low hum coming from the TELEVISION.

However, there does not seem to be a USER'S MANUAL. You look at the CEILING of the NEW ROOM and it says ROOM 100, rather than ROOM 102, which you were hoping for.

Change channel.F+HYou change the channel to a random pair of numbers. You are presented with another hum, of a slightly higher pitch, accompanied by another incomprehensible image.
Open door.F+HYou open the door to your room. It leads out onto a set of stairs. There is a clock in the stairway. It says that it is currently 4:21, even though the sun is clearly still in the sky. That's odd. The stairs appear to lead down to the LIBRARY and DINING ROOM.
Go down stairs.F+HYou go down the stairs, and look around the house. On one side, there is a LIBRARY and then a LIVING ROOM, and on the other, there is a DINING ROOM and a KITCHEN. The FRONT DOOR to the house is in the LIVING ROOM.

You leave your house, and you are treated to a silent suburb. There is no wind in the trees, no cars along the road. The air is perfectly still. You see nobody outside with you. There are no lights on in any of the houses, nor is there even the hum of electricity. It is complete silence, complete stillness.There are many houses lining your street, all of them nearly the same as yours.
The sun is still high in the midday sky.
Enter 277 on KEYBOARD in ROOM 103.KOPPARYou enter 277 in ROOM 103. A door opens. It finally leads to ROOM 102. There is an already opened door to ROOM 101 there. As well as the normal assortment of gadgetry, there is also an instruction guide. It is very large looking.

Go back inside.F+HYou go back inside the house, to your LIVING ROOM. You take a more careful look around. There is a MAP OF YOUR TOWN, a HANDWRITTEN NOTE, a MUG OF COFFEE, and a TELEVISION, with a REMOTE near the MUG OF COFFEE.

On page 43, you find the chapter heading RESTARTING A FAILED SYSTEM. You begin to read...
A few hours later, you've read the chapter. What you've gathered from the immense bulk of technical terms and procedures seems to indicate that the computer system runs by creating a simulation of a world, and drawing calculations from that. That seems like a highly roundabout way of doing anything, but you didn't program the system. When the system fails, it means that the simulation has frozen.
To restart a failed system, it seems that the user has to manipulate a being within the frozen simulation to enter the code at a terminal located at the center of the simulation. That also seems highly roundabout and silly to you.
KOPPARYou also notice that in the last chapter, it says you can view the being in the ROOM 103 VIEWSCREEN.
