Just for fun, we’re posting a game in which anybody can make a move at any time. You don’t have to restrict yourself to playing one color, but please don’t make more than one move in a row. The game will be over too quickly if people just use it to play themselves.
Patience, Please
This site is under reconstruction and will look strange for a while. We regret the inconvenience.
Sweet idea! This should be fun.
I got first move!
This is great! Now I can still play every once and awhile but I don’t have to worry about keeping up with a game of my own.
Yay! Got a move as well, but I don’t know which side I should root for…
SFTDP:
Except for some reason, my move wasn’t saved… oh well.
Maybe you have to be logged in.
Why is the board empty?
It isn’t, for most of us. Maybe your browser is incompatible with the chess software.
I was looking at the game on an iPod touch which hasn’t had its software updated in ages, so that’s probably the case. It’s fine in Firefox.
It looks fine with iOS5, by the way.
I moved!
Caake.
Moved.
(After 10. f4.) Moving the f pawn leaves the white king vulnerable to attack. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Oh… oops. I didn’t even notice that when I made that move.
Wait, it works on my iPod now! Odd…
The GAPA makes White’s move 12.
White needs to get the king out of the center and protect the bishop on b2 in case the queen has to move (to defend those central pawns, say). Queenside castling is the best bet for solving both problems, I think, so queenside castling it is.
Ahoy, bookgirl_me! Are you going to help find the best 15th move for White?
Turns out she isn’t, because I’m totally an idiot.
Or at least shortsighted.
Sorry, White.
Not a terrible move — White is even in material (pawns and pieces). Now, what’s the best 16th move?
GO…gray??
