About links to other sites–please read.

All,

Rosanne and I try to discourage links to other Web sites–partly to avoid attracting the dreaded spam bots, partly because we don’t have time to check them all for “inappropriate” content. We’ll sometimes relax the rule if a site looks Muselike and/or useful and Mostly Harmless, but please remember that the rule is there.

There is plenty of shocking material on the Web. People post it for various reasons, good and bad. Because Rosanne and I can’t evaluate it all, we’d just as soon not become a portal to it. So go easy on the links, please, even when they relate to something you care passionately about–maybe especially then. After all, we’ve all got Google.

    oh and hey kricket tell kitten to try a long breathless rant about education and exchanges of knowledge and the usefulness in regard to homework, and to talk really fast so her mom can’t get a word in and then seeing as her mom won’t be able to talk she might start listening and see the light of reason and insanity *ahem* I mean sanity. that works with my mom a lot. If they can’t talk, what can they do but listen?

    Sorry–it’s a commercial site and bombarded me with pop-up ads when I connected to it. That’s enough to disqualify it, in my book. Rosanne and I don’t have time to investigate very many sites, so it’s best to stick either with well known ones (like Google Earth) or academic/scholarly ones.

    I know the Web is full of sites that would be fun to share with other Musers, but the main attraction on the blog is you yourselves and the things you have to say to one another. Let’s keep that focus in mind.

  28. no, I downloaded ‘Earth’ on my computer. It’s satelite photos! All out of date, though, so it isn’t dangerous, they’re all about 2 years old.
