First post! It’s my dad’s 40th birthday today. The fourth Ice Age is also coming out. I wonder if there’s going to be a fifth movie.
Some Friday the Thirteenth this turned out to be I’ve always said that Friday the Thirteenth is/are the luckiest day(s) of the year for me, and now I have proof!
1) My brothers and I haven’t fought or argued ALL DAY so far, and it’s nearly 3 pm!
2) I got Pokemon Conquest.
3) I heard some completely amazing news about pokemon. (It’s local news, I’m afraid.)
4) I got new headphones.
I don’t think this day can get any better.
You got Pokemon Conquest? How is it? I’ve been considering getting it, but I’m a bit of a stickler for the “no strategy just super powerful moves” style that is prevalent in the other games.
I’m curious as well! My brother and I are thinking we should get a copy if it’s good.
curiosity killed the cat!
And satisfaction brought it back!
I’ve heard that saying (or rather the first half) many times, but I’ve never actually seen any evidence that curiosity is harmful to the curious. I think it’s safe to say that since curiosity is the only way to gain knowledge, and it doesn’t have many harmful effects, it should be encouraged–although I’d love to hear any counterarguments!
(Actually, when I was younger, I wrote a story about how The Cat was actually an evil, human, tyrannical king who forbade reading, learning, traveling, and basically everything that encouraged curiosity. Curiosity was the name of someone who was really brave and brought forth a fairer government. It was quite silly, but it was fun to write).
Ha! I’ve never heard that as a second half. I really must start using it now.
LBK and Cat’s Meow – Sorry, I didn’t see this until today. I personally think Pokemon Conquest is great. It’s a bit like a combination of Pokemon with a simplified version of Age of Empires: Mythology. But I guess most people have never heard of that last. Pokemon Conquest is just plain strange compared to the rest of the pokemon games, what with the fact that time only moves if you tell it to and pokemon have one move each. But if you can get past that, it’s a lot of fun. And you can get away with very little strategizing once you get the hang of the different style of battling.
Catwings- Sure, curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back! I love your gravatar, by the way.
thank you
