Haha, no wonder I couldn’t find it!
I could have sworn there was something like it, though.
    Ah, well. Moving on.

For most of my life I’ve kind of thought of being a teacher or author or something. But lately I’ve started realizing that all of the computer stuff I like doing (graphic design, video-making, website design) could actually be a potential career. And that sounds particularly cool.

I mean, I look at some movie trailers and I think that I could do that. It’s really no different then making an AMV or a video podcast: video clips from the movie, background music, and narration. I think it could be really fun.

  5. Axa says:

Considering that the writing I want to do isn’t something that in general makes a decent amount of money, I’ve been thinking about supplemental careers. I’ve considered web design and related jobs since that’s a market that’s really good for entry level jobs and it’s expanding etc etc but I don’t know if I necessarily want to do that. If Japanese sticks I’m definitely interested in translating or interpreting, leaning more towards the former though.

And then again I could always just give in a be a librarian. So who knows. I ‘m hoping I figure something out before too long.

    2) And like I said, that is a good job path to pursue in the coming years. There’s more demand than supply right now, if you can put it that way.

    3) Yeah I say definitely think about what it is you enjoy about art and see what fields involve that…Art is everywhere, so that’s a great qualification to have for a job, especially what you seem to be going for.

  6. Agrrrfishi says:

Personally, I tink that if you work hard at it, being a writer or journalist could make you a good amount of money. Besides, if you love to do it, money shouldn’t be the issue. You can have another good-paying job and write as well.

    21-Disney World has rockets?

I’m pretty much set on being a pilot. Once I get my driver’s license I’ll start going to lessons for my private license so I’ll have a head start in college.

Right now I teach taekwondo. It’s really fun and rewarding.
To the person who wanted to be a karate teacher: Even school owners have to have second jobs to support themselves, and if you’re working for someone else you probably won’t make enough money.
If you want to make good money maybe be a personal trainer at a gym? It’s similar.

If I can’t be a pilot then I’m just going to drift and do odd jobs to get by. I really don’t like the idea of living in one place all the time and I wouldn’t really mind living in a mobile home and being like a gypsy. If I was a pilot I’d have to stay near the airport though.

My dream job would be following something like Alfred Wegener’s career path. For those who don’t know, Mr.Wegener was possibly one of the most amazing people who ever walked this earth! He was an astronomer by training, yet he was also a meteorologist, and then he even dappled in geology. I was wondering how I could ever chose between the three fields, and then my science teacher showed us that life changing film. Low and behold, a meteorologist who gave birth to plate tectonics. Further investigation revealed the astronomy bit. My dream is possible! Perhaps I could add a dash of writing to the mix…

Hmm, I’d like to play music for a living…..maybe do some stuff with playing historical music in costume (how did you know that was coming?!0 I can imagine working for Colonial Williamsburg for at least a little bit, but I’m not sure how long I’d want to live in VA, I love it there, but it gets so HOT. Besides, at CW you have to be on top of people all the time, and I would probably resort to homicide.

I’d also like to sail (of course) and hopefully whatever I do I’ll be able to do that on the side, I’m not sure that I would want that for a full-time job. Besides, I doubt that I would make a very good living at that.

If I can get somehow involved in any type of acting, I’d love to try it out…and I’ve often dreamed of doing acting on the side, or just for the fun of it.

So if I can somehow combine history, music, ships, possibly acting, and make a living at it, I’m all set. But then comes the question of whether I’ll get married and have kids…..that would drastically change what I’d look for in a job. Not sure on that one, so far I’ve not met anyone that I’d really want to marry….and I’m not sure what kind of a mother I’d be………… *is suddenly very confused by looking so far ahead* I don’t know, I guess I’ll find out when I get there.

I want to be either a musician, or, if that fails, a programmer.

I think music is what I want to do with my life. I love to perform, I love to practice, I love to play with other people, and this summer has helped me realize how to communicate through music. I’m just so scared that I won’t be good enough, that I won’t get into college, that i won’t get a job. Getting in places is really competitive – the two toughest higher-education schools to get into in the US are both conservatories, and a lot of the best teachers seem to only accept one or two students a year. I just don’t know if I’m good enough, and I don’t always audition well. And there’s so much music you have to get ready for auditions…

I love programming, and messing with computers, and would be happy either doing it as a hobby or possibly as a career. Probably a hobby.

Okay, in all seriousness, I’m going to ‘waste’ years of my life getting Ph.D.s in those fields, and then it’ll be years of R&D until I end up a senile, androgynous-looking professor with big white hair. And an awesome lab coat. Because the world needs more mad scientists.

Still not sure what particular field of physics I’ll go into. I mean, on one hand there’s particle/high energy/quantum physics. Higgs boson et al.l Brilliance. And on the other hand, there’s astrophysics, because nothing is cooler than the light from a supernova that occurred 168,000 years ago. And black holes. Alternatively, I could do both.
