although actually this makes me realize that while I bought TWO of the fancy hot chocolate mixes, only one appears to have made it home with me???

Well, I can always put some Ovaltine in my oatmeal.

I’ve never brought myself to try Ovaltine. The name immediately conjures up Cloris Leachman in “Young Frankenstein,” and I step away.
And it turns out that today is not only National Oatmeal Day but also National Cat Day. What a strange combination.
I had oats for breakfast and played with the cats afterward, so maybe it’s not that strange, after all.
I had oatmeal for breakfast yesterday, so I’m doubling down on the chocolate today.
I can’t believe I missed it!
And I didn’t even have oatmeal for breakfast today!
I suppose I could still eat some chocolate…
I did not know that the 28th was national chocolate day, but that might explain why I felt compelled to buy and consume three Kit-Kat bars that day.
