I am here in Robert’s office! It’s great and he is wonderful as always. We’re going to get lunch now, and then we will have to part ways (I’ve got a date at the Smithsonian), but I’m so glad I got to see him.
It was fun! We talked about life and blogs, she admired my collection of poisonous plants, and then we popped around the corner for crepes and she headed down to check out the Smithsonian museums on the Mall. Sunny weather and lovely Muserly company — it doesn’t get much better than that.
Indeed it was. We even talked about pie. Dodec ordered an apple-and-cheese crepe and noted that growing up in upstate New York had made her something of an expert on apples. Cooking apples tend to be crisper than eating apples, she said, but you need a balanced mixture of both kinds to make a good apple pie. I thought, “That sounds like a metaphor for a blog — or a world.”
While home over winter break, I found a Kokon picture of Tess and me holding Muse magazines over our faces, and I’ve added it to my wall of pictures over my desk at school.
