Figments? We think not.
Wow, that’s great! Also, I couldn’t help but notice that the title says it’s 2014, not 2015.
Good point, Noah2316. Now corrected
That was the figment.
Fantastic! A pity about my recent geographic displacement.
I have noticed that those lines of palm trees between two buildings appear in a lot of the pictures of Stanford — what is that place called? Is it a gate, a courtyard, a promenade? It seems to be almost iconic.
I’m not sure whether the path has a name, but it runs east-southeast from in front of the Huang Engineering Building to the main quad. There are so many double-rows of palms at Stanford, though, that it’s hard not to photograph one.
As Robert said, this is the path that runs from the science and engineering quad to the main quad. As far as I know, it doesn’t have a name. And, as he also said, there are a lot of double-rows of palm trees — three of the four entrances to the main quad have the double-palm-tree paths, if you include what is literally called Palm Drive. (The other one has a church.)
It’s a very photogenic campus. The side effect of this is that students are photographed without their permission by tourists all the time. It happens.
Hello! Yes! That’s us. We’re all real and everything!
Also, I realize now that that is a very Bay Area outfit I’m wearing — a hoodie, jeans, and flip-flops. Guess I’ve assimilated into California pretty well!
Awesome! Bet it was warmer there than here!
Oh, yes.
So, this picture is right-side-up on the desktop I’m using while on the road, but it’s sideways and squeezed on my iPhone and iPad. Apple must use a different matrix convention. I’ll try to fix it after I get home. Meanwhile, some of you will just have to crane your necks and squint.
Yeah, it was sideways when I first viewed it earlier today (on my mac laptop). But it is fixed now!
Well, that’s odd about the photo. I might have contributed to the oddness. When I first saw it I was on a mac laptop and it was sideways. I thought I’d be helpful and rotated it to an upright position using wordpress. But now it sounds like it looks sideways in some other circumstances. So hmmmm.
I did that, too! I’ve been wondering why it had flipped back.
I flipped it yesterday not long after you posted it. Does that help explain things? Or further confuse?
Back from California! And I think I’ve fixed the picture.
