I alone am the guardian to a terrible secret- a single Chi Emerald buried underground. It powers me, keeps me strong, and gives me special abilities. I can disguise myself as a harmless plant, but if if anyone tries to abscond with the Chi Emerald, the true me will come out and attack. I am invincible to fire, ice, hammers, stomps, and the like. No one can destroy me. Not even Mar-Suddenly, some people come in, disturbing my deep thoughts about my self. I quickly and quietly disguise myself as a simple rose bush. I watch. I wait. I hope that they aren’t here for the Chi Emerald that I alone posses. If they are then I will attack, If not, then I’ll stay hidden. I wait. I listen. What are they doing here? Why? I wait and wait some more. What is their business? I shall see.
I run up to the garden, hiding myself within a gazebo curtained with thick vines, and prick myself on a rose bush. Ow! I silently cry, licking my cut. She’ll come-Crystl Lin will…she can’t come after me… I think to myself when I hear a rustle.
I dash silently (there are some perks from trying to become a character!) up to the rooftop…
“Um… chaps?” I said. “This is not a ‘kaboom-stabbity-chop-pwn” RPG, it’s the rooftop garden of a formal All Hallows’ Eve masque ball. Please take this into consideration when creating characters and storylines. I’ve got to return now – Lady Midnight will be waiting, and I’d love to sample some more of that delicious cider.” I went back down the steps.Someone pricked themselves on me. They appear to have only done it by accident. I then rustle my leaves a little to see what would happen. The person appeared to be hiding from someone. I use the telekinetic powers given to me by the Chi Emerald to squirt a stream of water at the back of his head.I was looking for a bathroom and I found a rooftop garden. Great, now what was I going to do about my dress? I saw a gazebo and ducked inside. Someone screamed.
“Telekinetic powers? Elemental invulnerability? TALKING PLANTS? I don’t mind a few special effects- ” as if for emphasis, a ripple of St. Elmo’s Fire crackled around my three-cornered hat- “but please try to keep this sort of thing within the realm of possibility.” Snarky comment successfully launched, I retreated into the warmth of the ballroom.I enter the garden, glad to get away from the mysterious, ominous, cupcake-stealing ghosts of the ballroom. Yet more mystery is just around the corner. I see someone dashing silently across the garden, and someone inside a gazebo who appears to be hiding from her. Twined around part of the gazebo is a rose bush that looks somehow different from the other plants. I can’t find any obvious physical oddities of the plant, but there’s something strange about it that I can’t put my finger on.
Some guy just insulted me. Using more powers, I open up a worm hole beneath him. He falls in and ends up in 1945.***NOTE: Super Extra Special Points to whoever can guess what TV show I got the “worm hole to 1945” thing and got the idea for the Chi Emeralds from. I’ll give a hint: <<>> Once again, SESP to whoever can figure it out.***
“Honestly,” I sigh. “Have you seen a girl in an orange dress and cat ears?” I call out to the peacock-dressed person about 20 feet away. “She just ran away, and I think she saw a ghost.”
Some girl wearing a peacock costume comes in then stares at me. I see a fan in her hand. I use my mind power to take over a nearby plant. I sense evil intent in her mind. I quick spray pollen-nap into her and the other persons’ face and they instantly get knocked out. I quickly wrap them in vines, then pull them under ground and absorb them. The Chi emerald glows slightly. I feel energized. I quickly reset my self to a rose plant before any one had noticed any thing… or so I hoped.9-(Chi emeralds-Sonic the Hedgehog?)
I screamed, looking at the newcomer. And then she fainted. I dragged her back down to the ballroom..
*groan* Oh Admins, I beseech thee to employ the GAPA ZAP OF DOOM upon these inappropriately silly posts. Or at least relocate them to a more appropriate locale, such as Bunny Apocalypse.Stop all this stuff about chi emeralds and piranha plants!That’s not even how you spell piranha!! So, after pulling vanderdecken out of the wormhole, I put on my Skipping wHoleheartedly Unrelated Stuff Hat (or SHUSH for short)
“where is M of N?
She said she’d be here.”
I say to myself.
“I can tell you where she is”
says a voice that, while dark and cold, seems attractive, in a way.
I turn to see the ghostly girl that I saw in the ballroom, who floated up through the ceiling when I threatened her with my sword. I finally get a good look at her, and then the voice, the face, everything matches up. “Anna? is it really you?” “Yes Link, I have come from you this Hallow’s Eve, from beyond the grave.” “Anna, I’m sorry I-” “No Link, I’m the one who should be sorry. left without ever telling you, I, I…” She never said it, but we both knew (you want to know, too? Well why do you even think it’s your business) “but that’s not all, Link. I need to tell you something, I miss being your best friend. Every Halloween, I will come to you.” as she said it, she started to fade away “goodbye Link, and enjoy Hallow’s Eve” she faded away, with a cool breeze that made me shiver a bit, but I was happy. Truly happy for the first time in two years.
Then the ghost of Anna comes back to tell me “oh, and I don’t know where M of N is, that was to get your attention, sorry”
she fades again.
I run down to the ballroom.
((I haven’t retro-zapped any posts, but as on the main Halloween Ball thread I have crossed out those that violate the agreed-on spirit and intent of the ball, along with now-distracting meta-posts asking the GAPAs for help.))

I walk out of the gazebo, still slightly creeped out after the ghost. The peacock-dressed girl I walk up to, and ask “Are there any available males to dance with around here? If there are, I want one to dance with-partly because I don’t have shoes technically on, and partly because I’m bored!”
I walk in a circle around her, mentally laughing because of the look in Cinderella’s face right before she fainted, and also because of the look on Crystl Lin’s face when she saw Cinderella faint.
I make my way toward the gazebo, dashing between and behind big bushes. I climb up onto the side of the structure, wait until nobody seems to be looking my way, and shimmy up a supporting pole to the roof.
“Ahhhh,” I say, enjoying my view. I can see and hear everyone who comes into the garden, at least anyone who hangs out in front of the door. As long as I keep my head down, nobody can see me, thanks to my inconspicuous dress.
i found the food and ate it. then i walked around looking for people i knew but everyone ran away from me because i had mahe my horns into a candleabra
I walk to the edge of the balcony stretching from the rooftop. I lean slightly over the edge, peering over the dark and widespread grounds below. I am completely and utterly alone, cut off from the noise of the world around me. Or so I think.
Something moves behind me. I swirl around, but see nothing but darkness and plants. I slowly walk back from the balcony, carefully so as not to make noise. Then, there is a soft whisper. I can’t quite make out what is being said. It is a quiet voice, a young voice, and strangely calm. Too calm. I look around me, frightened. Rose petals from a bush above my head flutter eerily downward. And then, suddenly, I see her.
She is a little girl, not much older than my sister. Six, maybe seven years of age. She wears a faded grey dress that might have been some shade of lavender, had dirt and clay not destroyed the fabric. Her eyes are shut. Her head is on her shoulder, cocked to the left, and her neck pokes out in a funny way. Her curls are limp and matted with soil and leaves.The dark green of the plants is opaque through her blurry outline. She moves in and out of focus. Her mouth hangs open, like her jaw is broken. I want to turn away, to scream and run and hide. But I can’t look away from her pale little face, so full of death.
Her eyes pop open.
They are milky white, the color of the pale full moon that shines on a dark fall night, and glazed over with furtive and forgotten tears.
I open my mouth to scream, but find that I cannot breathe. A short gasp escapes my open mouth. My feet are stuck to the ground, and I can’t run away. The little girl moves her lips.
“Hello, lady”, she says in a soft and deadly whisper. “Do you want to play?”
This triggers my brain, and I begin to scream, loudly and in short breaths. I catch my footing on a cobblestone and run away, first stumbling, then sprinting as fast as I can from the open spot. I look behind me one last time, a quick glance. The little girl is still staring at me. She raises her arm, caked with dirt from the grave, beckoning me to stay, her head sickeningly twisted upon the pedestal of her short shoulders. I scream even louder, and search wildly for the stairwell door. Everything around me is dark and confusing. I trip over a fallen vine and hit my head on a planter. Everything goes completely dark. The last thing I hear is a short laugh, quiet and frightful on my ears.
((Hey! Why do you think it’s funny that I fainted? Oh and GAPAs, disregard that post about looking for the bathroom and all. I’m not really out here. I’m inside, dancing.))
“I don’t know who there is to dance with,” I say to Tiernah. I decide that I would rather be inside, and walk down the stairs into the ballroom.
Some people leave, and another screams. I decide the screaming’s probably becasue of a ghost, and leave it be.
I’m cold. I wish I had brought a coat.
I Rember about the Ball, And rush to the gardens. I grab food.
I look around, and head in to a nice onclave.
13-We at Bunny Apocalypse do not welcome piranha plants any more than MA does. So no offense, Vandy, but do not make suggestions to someone who clearly has no idea how to RP stuff. The BAers are already confused enough without piranhas.
24-Get yourself a costume. It doesn’t have to be elaborate– heck,
∫ß-sorry about that, ignore me, someone went as a ghost in a white sheet– but do use a costume of some kind.25- WHAT DO YOU CALL A CAPE!
13- MA would be better suited for such atrocious material. At BA, we accept the finest ONLY.
((26-Um, you could call yourself ‘Man in Cape’ or something, though that wouldn’t be the best because everyone would know who you are……. I don’t know….. Elaborate on the cape. You can stay the way you are until you think of something.
Incidentally, would you like to dance with me when we get back downstairs? Please?….. I’ve only had one dance, and that was with a girl….. No offense, Soren, but it’s not quite the same, and anyway I wasn’t even there for the dancing…….))
I’ve given up on trying to find M of N, so I think I’ll stay here.

Well, actually, I think our dance ended, and I’m sneaking around the garden seeing if there are any spirits.

I was in the back corner of the garden, near a rosemary bush. I was despairing now. It seemed there were no ghosts here whatsoever. I climbed up into a tree and started pouting. “Huh?” a faint voice said. I swerved around. A girl, almost a mirror image of me, except she looked about sixteen, was sitting next to me and looking like a wisp of smoke. “Are you a ghost?” I asked, eyes wide. “Heck no! I thought you were!” The girl said, and if sheet white ghosts could be pale, she was. She was wearing a May Day Ball gown. My breath caught. Would I die at the May Day Ball when I was sixteen? I thought. I looked away, blinking back scared tears. When I looked back to ask the ghost her name, she was gone.
I shakily got myself out of the tree, and walked back to the main part of the garden. I collapsed on a wicker chair, shocked.
35-I’ve been trying! How is asking someone to dance with you not drawing attention to yourself?

I cry out in frustration, just looking for any male humans. At this point, I’ll dance with Snark-Hunters, or even other girls!

I get a small grip on myself and stagger down to the ballroom.

Yes, it is a sad thing. Oh, sorry, but the fact that we are all DESTINED to be ignored by men/boys (chuckles) in this ball seeing as we more then outnumber them three to one.

“I’ll dance with you!” I chirp (well, meow-chirp) , walking towards TMFA-and then dash towards a scream!
A girl with green skin-I remember her calling herself Elphaba-is lying on the ground. And then I look behind. There is a young girl there. Most people would be scared, but I smile at the ghost and say “Hi!” She attempts to smile, and then fades away like smoke.
“So now that that’s over,” I answer to TMFA, “fancy a dance with me downstairs?”

Ah well, you seem to be otherwise occupied.

I dash away quickly, scratching at the back of my hand “It’s happening. Oh, why did it have to be tonight?” I say to myself, as I run off.
Then I realize that the rest of you probably heard that, as I said it probably very loudly.
I help Elphaba to her feet. “Are you alright?” I ask.
“What should I do?”
“Dance with me?” I walk shyly out from among the bushes.
“Please?”
44- “Link, you okay?”
45- “Elphaba, are you feeling alright?” I refrain, just barley, from saying she looks a bit green.
46- “Dance with me?” I walk out of the bushes shyly.
42- Yes, thanks for the big help, Tiernah.
A girl in a dress helps me to my feet. “Are you alright?” she asks. “That was some fall.”
I look cautiously behind me. The girl is gone.
“I think so…” I mutter, clutching the back of my head. Only then do I realize that my hat is gone.
“Here you go”, offers the girl, holding it up. “I think this matches your ensemble.”
I smile, jamming my hat back onto my ruffled curls. “Thank you”, I say kindly. “My name’s Elphaba. You can call me Elphie. What’s yours?”
“I’m ♪ “, the girl replies.
“How do you pronounce that?” I ask confusedly.
“I don’t exactly know”, she replies, shrugging and grinning.
I feel considerably better, and decide to venture downstairs to the ballroom. “Fancy a pumpkin tart?”, I offer.
“Sure”, replies the girl. We head towards the staircase.
I walk up, feeling I could use the breeze. It is nice up here.
From my vantage point, I see a number of people asking other people to dance. Blech. I don’t like that sort of thing, unless the boy can actually dance.
I look to my right. In a tree, at almost my height, another girl is confronted by an apparation. Meh.
The person who screamed comes out into the clearing by the door, helped along by a girl.
Hmmm. Not much gossip around here. But at least I haven’t been noticed yet. My online instructor will be pleased.

I come running up to the garden, shouting “this is it Phantom! (that’s supposed to be the name of a ghost), I’ve been through years of halloween torment. Now you will pay!” (confused? read post 345 on the main halloween ball thread)
I slowly begin to change. the symbol on my hand glows, I grow taller, I become, less like someone dressed as link and more like Link himself. “Phantom! come out and face me!!” I say, or rather, Link says, in a voice deeper than mine.
“heh heh heh” Says an , evil, ghostly voice that sounds like cruel laughter, mixed with two rusty metal objects scraping against each other, and the wind howling.
A ghost suddenly appears. A classic, sheet with the holes cut in it, ghost. “greetings Link. I see you finally had the courage to face me.” then the ghost whips the sheet off. He looks exactly like me. only his skin is coal black, his hair is light gray, his eyes are deep red, and his clothes are black. He has a black-bladed sword, stained reddish gray. “This is it.” Link says. I, or, He raises his sword. Phantom does the same. Gold energy flows from my blade into his. and dark, tarnished silver and black energy flows from his blade. The two meet in the middle, creating a huge blast. We are both knocked to the ground. His sword flies out of his hand. I take mine, walk up to him, shout “HYAAAAAAAAA!” I bring my sword down in a stabbing motion, and right as the tip touches his chest, he splits into thousands of black fragments, and shoots up into the night sky “you can’t kill ghosts. hahahahaha! see you next Halloween!” Says a voice. I slowly begin to change back into the regular me.
a ghost girl starts to float towards me. “stop tormenting people just because your a ghost doesn’t mean you’re allowed to creep people out!” It was probably the after-effects of the curse in my voice, or maybe it was that I know half the ghosts at Muse Academy, but the ghost girl floats away.
“what?” I ask people, who are staring at what just happened “did you think that I would deal with that girl in the same way as Phantom? just because they’re dead doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings!”
I start to walk down to the ballroom, the curse mostly gone away (for now) however I’m still tall (6′ 2″).
“care to dance, Aja Ceulean? Or are you afraid of the curse?”

(GAPAs, is my thing with the fight between me and the ghost too, out there? I kinda like it, it isn’t too destructive, and it’s not like I’m blowing up the place or anything.)

My duct tape costume feels odd up here. I descend back to the ballroom.

((65–it’s ok–don ‘t worry about it. I am totally over my grumpiness-I was tired & stressed yesterday, and thus rather irritable. No harm done!

I waltz with TMFA, playfully winking.
“Jeez, look at the lovebirds!” someone commented loudly.
“We’re NOT lovebirds!” I shrieked back, kicking them-rather painfully-with my clawed paw/foot.
I climb the stairs and step out on the roof. One can see quite far out to sea from here in the moonlight.
“I really should have come up here sooner. It’s so beautiful.” I muttered.
I could see TMFA and Tiernah waltzing and Elphaba eating a pumpkin tart, but no mysterious person in a blue jumpsuit.
“Yes,” I commented back to Atomica, “full moon. And I really feel quite compelled to kick someone in a unprovoked way.”
(Can anyone guess where I got the ‘unprovoked KICK!’ from? I have a free dancing slot to whoever guessed right… it’s a comic…)
“These are great tarts,” I said to Elphie.
“Yeah,” she says with a nod. I watch as Atomica Sparks looks around, searching for someone.
I go over to her and ask, “Who are you looking for?”
“There was a person in a blue jumpsuit downstairs who helped Cinderella, but they vanished before I could thank them. I thought maybe they came up here, but I don’t see them.”
I looked around to check everybody who WAS there one last time. Elphaba, the witch, TMFA, ♪, somebody dressed as an astronaut… hey!
“That’s them, over there! By the gazebo!”
They were wearing the old sort of blue shuttle flightsuit and an altitude helmet with the visor down, hiding their face.
I hurried towards the gazebo, but when I got there, there was no trace of the person.
“Freaky.”
I run downstairs. “Midnight!” I gasp, running as fast as I can, and faintly spotting Crystl Lin.
Oh dearie. I really did mean to come to this… oops. *giggles* Well, not to late to grab some candy, I suppose…
71- Oh! I’ve seen that one! That was in Opus/Bloom County. But I thought it was UNAPPROVED kick. That happens to be my favorite.
The sky is clear tonight and the crescent moon glistens with an intreguing coldness. I sit atop a gazebo and gaze into the blue, curling into my feathered cape. People are chattering down below. Their voices melt into the cold night like my ombr’e shawl far away. I yawn. maybe I should get something to eat here before I fall asleep…
