I would like to state that I made a sincere attempt to understand this thread, but then I failed miserably and left. Now I’m going to try again. Because my castle isn’t real, or at least not in the conventional sense. It’s made out of books, quotes, magazines… In the middle of this construction is the secret of its succes: the dream machine. This machine emits ray that allow inanimate objects to dream and their dreams to become reality. If your talking about nail or earrings, that won’t be interesting but what about a book or a magazine ? My dreaming copy of LOTR 1 has already created a portal to a parallel universe on the doormat. I you approach my castle, you fall into one of the books dreamworlds and are lost for ever, unless you can find the portal back to reality. The castle itself is invisible, thanks to a rube goldenberg machine built by the issue of muse with that theme. It’s mobile to (again, thanks to an issue of muse) and is heading towards 9).

Austria is awesome in the winter. I live in Vienna, the capital, which is one of the few flat parts. My favorite things about Vienna (in the winter) are the Christkindlmärkte (I think the closest American word is Christmas village) and the stands where the sell Christmas trees. The “Christmas villages” are tons of little stands which sell punch or various souvenirs (handmade artsy stuff at the one closest to me, which I drive through going to school on my scooter).
The stands are simply lots of pine trees standing on a designated spot. The smallest ones are as high as my knee, but some largest ones are almost 1 1/2 times as tall as I am (I’m about 5’5). If you can steal a few minutes standing between them, it’s almost as if you’re in a forest (until the vendor chases you away, that is. The big ones are really expensive). I lived in a (comparatively) small town in C.T., so the city part is new.
Another thing I like about Vienna (in general) is that you can get everywhere with a scooter and a subway/bus/tram ticket* (all the public transports have the same tickets) unlike in C.T. where my parents had to drive me everywhere.

I just have this really bad habit of trying to find somthing to argue/talk/debate about. And it’s so true that you have to go everywhere in a car. The debate thing is fine. I spend lots of time in a book club saying really nasty things about Eragon and Magyk, so I guess i let it all out… I’ve been in Vienna almost every winter in my life, because of my grandmother (who’s turning 85 this year) insists on having here only other family (my grandpa and uncle are dead) with her on Christmas. It’s the best time of the year to be in Vienna. In German Christmas is called Weihnachten, which means holy night, so it’s less Christian (in a way).
What’s the big deal about Christmas? It’s more about Santa and lights and presents than the birth of Jesus…some of those things are pagan traditions, actually. Believe me, Christmas is NOT a Christian holiday. Why don’t you complain about Hanuka or Kwanzaa instead? *pies*

Forgot to answer you’re last question: I’d love to complain about Hanukah or Kwanza, personaly I’m Confusedish (basicaly I’m confused and have no idea what to belive) but Hanukah and Kwanza aren’t given much emphasis. People around where I live just say Merry Christmas without a though. Sometimes they say Happy Holidays. But no one even thinks to say Happy Hanukah or Happy Kwanza. But I’m sure if there was a huge emphasis on that stuff I would, becuase when people put an emphasis on things like that it irks me because no one ever thinks that MAYBE I have nothing to do with those religons. And that MAYBE the people they are saying it to don’t want to hear it becuase they don’t celebrate it.
I still have to get used to the english being “Christmas”. “Weihnachten” is so much less offensive/mono-religious. The problem with Christian is that, in History, they weren’t very friendly. Now everyone finally gets to spread out their own religion. Christian is okay, just when people start to interpret it their own way it gets creepy/bloody.
219) Here it’s the german version of “Merry Christmas” too. Last year, our religion class said “Weihhanuka” instead of Christmas, but that was just to anger our religion teacher. She proved unprovocative and we gave up. The problem is that, here, if you are of a certain religoin (catholic, evangelic or jewish=most common), you have to take classes (=2 hours a week). If you call yourself a “nothing”, you have two hours less of school per week. What do you tell the “nothings” ? Merry not-mas ? Since the majority of people are catholic, you say “Merry Christmas”. Austria is awesome in the winter. I live in Vienna, the capital, which is one of the few flat parts. The “Christmas villages” are tons of little stands which sell punch or various souvenirs (handmade artsy stuff at the one closest to me, which I drive through going to school on my scooter).
The stands are simply lots of pine trees standing on a designated spot. The smallest ones are as high as my knee, but some largest ones are almost 1 1/2 times as tall as I am (I’m about 5’5). If you can steal a few minutes standing between them, it’s almost as if you’re in a forest (until the vendor chases you away, that is. The big ones are really expensive). I lived in a (comparatively) small town in C.T., so the city part is new.
Another thing I like about Vienna (in general) is that you can get everywhere with a scooter and a subway/bus/tram ticket* (all the public transports have the same tickets) unlike in C.T. where my parents had to drive me everywhere.

The debate thing is fine. I spend lots of time in a book club saying really nasty things about Eragon and Magyk, so I guess i let it all out… I’ve been in Vienna almost every winter in my life, because of my grandmother (who’s turning 85 this year) insists on having here only other family (my grandpa and uncle are dead) with her on Christmas. It’s the best time of the year to be in Vienna. In German Christmas is called Weihnachten, which means holy night, so it’s less Christian (in a way).

Forgot to answer you’re last question: I’d love to complain about Hanukah or Kwanza, personaly I’m Confusedish (basicaly I’m confused and have no idea what to belive) but Hanukah and Kwanza aren’t given much emphasis. People around where I live just say Merry Christmas without a though. Sometimes they say Happy Holidays. But no one even thinks to say Happy Hanukah or Happy Kwanza. But I’m sure if there was a huge emphasis on that stuff I would, becuase when people put an emphasis on things like that it irks me because no one ever thinks that MAYBE I have nothing to do with those religons. And that MAYBE the people they are saying it to don’t want to hear it becuase they don’t celebrate it.
I still have to get used to the english being “Christmas”. “Weihnachten” is so much less offensive/mono-religious. The problem with Christian is that, in History, they weren’t very friendly. Now everyone finally gets to spread out their own religion. Christian is okay, just when people start to interpret it their own way it gets creepy/bloody.
219) Here it’s the german version of “Merry Christmas” too. Last year, our religion class said “Weihhanuka” instead of Christmas, but that was just to anger our religion teacher. She proved unprovocative and we gave up. The problem is that, here, if you are of a certain religoin (catholic, evangelic or jewish=most common), you have to take classes (=2 hours a week). If you call yourself a “nothing”, you have two hours less of school per week. What do you tell the “nothings” ? Merry not-mas ? Since the majority of people are catholic, you say “Merry Christmas”. I don’t even know what my best friends religion is.

260- I don’t think you can evolve out of discrimination. Though is would be really helpful descrimination is one of humans flaws. That and Materialisim, hatred, predjuduce… you get it. If we got rid of our flaws then we would be too perfect and that would be our flaw, to some extent (read all untill you abandon the treaty on me) discrimination is good. (LET ME EXPLAIN!) The only way we could evolve out of discrimination is for everyone to think the same way, do the same things, have the same looks, have the same amount of stuff…so basically, nobody could be different or unique. And I wouldn’t want to live in a world like that.

I wade quietly through the river, heading relentlessly North toward the illusionist fortress. I motion to IBCF and we lead out of the water and begin to creep swiftly through the forest. It is only a matter of time until we spot the fluttering banners of the fortress in the distance. This is where we split up, each to begin out own dastardly role in this invasion. I lead my chipmunks over to a covered precipice by the side of the fortress, just hidden from the parapets by the overhanging rock.
OK! Chipmunks! You know what to do! When IBCF gives the signal, barrage the fortress with pie cannons. Make sure to be ready!

With my load of pies, I sneak over the castle parapets. I stride down t the castle kitchens, trying to look inconpicious. Innocently, I lay the dud pies carefully along the ammunition wall and ….. OOPs! There go the freshly baked, war ready pies down the dud pie shoot! Mwahaha! No fresh pies! And….. oh my….. I accidently dropped the flour, eggs, and sugar down the dud pie shoot as well. and also the milk! And the baking powder! Oh dear. That doesn’t bode well for their future pie concoctions!

Hey! An attack is no fun without people defending the fortress! Where are all the illusionists? Maybe I should have saved this awesome plan for for some other organization.
Kiwimuncher gave me an idea. Can we craft pies instead of throwing them? Just for like, I don’t know, a week? Share some recipes, mix em up, and THEN lob em at people.
359) If you want a quick way to destroy the world, put me in a kitchen and tell me to cook. As an example, here´s my strategy for making popcorn.
1) Put the popcorn in the popcorn maker
2) Run away fast and hide
3) Come back when the popcorn has stopped flying (not my fault, stupid broken machine)
4) Cut off slab of butter
5) Put in microwave, turn it on and hide behind the counter
6) Put your head back up after the explosion
7) Pour the butter and salt on the popcorn
8) Clean up the kitchen and self (remember to check the ceiling)
Somehow I get the feeling that my kitchen doesn’t like me…

Besides, I’m the supreme fridge/leftover cleanupper and ravioli maker (a lot of the latter) and I usually managed it (except when I was blogging and overboiled the raviolis, or when I ate those pineapple slices- always avoid pineapple in a varied meal, especially with fruit juice, or the time on the boat with those mints).
