MuseBlog Job Applications

Errata proposed this thread, to popular acclaim. We GAPAs don’t really understand it don’t understand it at all, but that has never kept threads from working in the past. Here’s the description:

You think of creative reasons that wasting time is actually constructive, and type them all out! If we wanted to, we could also expand it into actually getting the jobs, as in people create mock jobs, others apply for them, and then the creator gets to chose one, based on their application. Then… Oh! Maybe we could have ‘Job Points’ or something similar, that you get when you get a job! Okay, that’s my idea. *beams*

Okay, when I first looked at that, I thought, ‘Hmm… this doesn’t looks so bad. I don’t see what the Gapas are complaining about.” But, then I got through it, and read it again. And again. I’m totally lost. It seems like its a good idea that would be fun, but it needs some more explaining. Errata, will you stand up, please? And explain a bit better?

    What does it do ?
Well, we know everything, but we’ve been sworn to secrecy. So we’ll tell you some things, especially ones you didn’t want to know. Each member has a really important job doing what is describe as “nothing” in shifts of “random spare minutes”. We can’t tell you all the top-secret things we do, but we are obliged to inform you of our actions “whenever we feel like it”.

    What your current misson ?
To find a logo, theme song, name, and/or good excuse for procrastinating everything important, such as completing this mission.

    Who are the members ?
Me, my computer (on probation) and my bonsai. But anyone who wants can join.

    What is your main goal?
    To remember our main goal.

Sorry I didn’t come here. Anyway, my original thought was you make your museblog activities sound constructive. For example:

Adept at talking in other fashions. (Hare & Hedgepig)

This is officially becoming random. Let’s see, our options would be, a) turn this into a RPG/RPW, or b) continue random discussion. I vote we turn it into a RPG. The general plotline would be:

Everyone picks a job and applies for it.
They make it or not, and start working there, or not.
Then we roleplay working at that job until you get tired, and quit/get fired.
    Repeat ad infinitum

  47. Errata says:

I like roleplays, so I’d like to make it one, but I also don’t want to shut out all the people who think that it shouldn’t be a RPG/RPW. Maybe we could ask the GAPAS to post at the top something to the effect of ‘This is a RP, but if you don’t like roleplays, please feel free to just post your application.’ and then have an example. Suggested rules:

    1. Please either use your Blogname, or post your role play
    name in your Blogname.

    2. If you wish to have two jobs, you must have an assistant for at least one of them.

And that’s all I have so far. Zinc, I respect your wish to make it a RPW, but I really think it’s more suited to RPG. If you want to do a RPW, there’s a fine one over at the Beyond Museica thread. Although, on further reflection, a RPW would actually work quite well, and… You know, it the corse of writing this post, I’ve turned my point of view completely around, and now think it should be a RPW. My reasoning:

    1. In real jobs, most of the day, there’s nothing special. You just note down the part that was.

    2. RPW are much like RPGs, except you don’t have to wait for others to post, which makes it much easier for those of us that are on all the time.

    3. For some reason, in RPGs, time rarely passes. Really, you can have two threads, and still be on the first day. (The Superheros and Mary Sues, for instance.) This thread would not be happy if time never passed, since too much would have to happen in one day, which makes it unrealistic.

There, I present my arguments for an RPW. I will, of course, go with the flow. Oh, I was thinking. What if every week or so, game time, we got some amount of money, which we think of a cool name for, and then we can spend it on other things, that are sold by the rest of the people? I guess that adds a third rule.

    3. At the end of every declared Game Week, you get a fixed amount of money, which is declared when you first start working by the person who hired you. If you wish for more money per week, you may ask for a raise.

So, what do you think? Any additional rules? Anything?

Revival. PLEASE! Due to the lack of complaints, this is now, among other things, a RPW. Anyone who wishes to merely come on and post their muserly, and muserly-related, accomplishments, is quite welcome, whether or not they wish to continue afterwards. Since there is a lack of people to propose and/or accept applicants around, I vote people just make up jobs, write their applications, and assume they’re accepted. I shall apply for something later.
