Here is the story, as far as we’ve been able to determine:
Apparently on February 25, some evil non-MBer hacked MuseBlog’s WordPress code to show advertisements at the top of the lefthand sidebar. Now the inserted code is malfunctioning and causing slowdowns and other problems. Robert has been trying to track down the problem, but the commands are well disguised and seem to be spread out among the files in a way that will break other parts of the blog if he simply starts deleting them. He’s going to reinstall our software tonight. (He tried to do it last night but had to go to bed before he could finish the job.)
That’s our tale of woe, so far. With luck, it will have a happy ending soon.
Hopefully it will. Maybe you guys should ask the blog service guys?
first post?
I’m talking to them. So far they’ve been even more mystified than I am, but very eager to sell me more RAM to see if that makes the blog speed up. (I tried it. It doesn’t.)
It’s all part of Tardiff’s plan! o.O
Seriously, tho, that’s a bit troubling. Advertisements on our beloved blog… *shudders*
Oh dear! What an awful thing to do on George Harrison’s 66th birthday!!!! Who would do such a thing?
3- TARDIS? Where?
Oh, wait, Tardiff. Heheh.
-obsessed-
Er, how come the RCSB is showing me this:
“On The Studge Experience by Robert Coontz (Administrator) on April 8th, 2009
(55) For those who weren’t around, here’s an allusion to…
Why is it doing the ellipses? And why aren’t GAPAs’ names linkified? And why is “On” linkified?
So should we expect a visit to the Muse Academy blog as the software is reinstalled?
6- We’re back to an older version of the comments bar that MB used to have. It cuts it of after a certain point (number of words?) and puts in an ellipse to show there’s more.
So I’ve noticed that “www. musefanpage . com” now reverts back to MB… is the fan page really gone? Or is it at the new site or something…?
4- Obviously, someone who hates George Harrison.
Clues:
Not a Muser.
Hates the Beatles.
Is a hacker.
(5) Alice, I keep thinking TARDIS, too.
8- Robert’s trying to sort out the main page, which is still being affected by the April Fool’s Eve malware. He got MB up and working first, but the main page is still being repaired.
Oh dear, I hope it gets better soon.
OMG, Tardiff is a Time Lord! That explains everything!
Evil Non-Muser…
I shall now rant and complain until this gets fixed. Except I won’t, because there’s really no point. *smile*
This is MADDENNING! I am going to throw my computer against the wall… no, not really. I’m just being dramatic.
Yes, it’s really irritating. When I load a new page, the blog gets stuck about halfway through a post halfway down the page for a minute or so.
15- I should try that. If I can lift the computer, of course… *tries*
16- Yes! That happens!
curse the non- Muser. He/she might as well be
.
I noticed that, but I thought it was just me! I’m not alone!
