Woot! Thank you, GAPAs! *bows down*
So, What powers? Telekinesis? Telepathy? Clairvoyance? Shape Shift?
Whee! It’s been a while since I’ve been on an active RPG…
So, how does this work?
SFTDP
Double W00t! My first first post! So, I’m new to RPGs, but some magic powers that might be okay;
[Key- next to a power means I think it’s fine. means we’ll have to debate it, maybe adding restrictions. means this power is a danger to all who don’t want their character to be a Mary Sue. Powers with a * next to them are minor, powers with ! next to them are probably major.]
Telekinesis-
Telepathy* (This could be good with mods.)-
Flying-
Super Strength!- /
Super Speed!-
Clairvoyance-
Precognition- (We could make up how far into the future you could see, I guess. I think the way it worked in “Hidden Talents” is good.)
Teleportation!-
Invisibility!-
Super Senses- /
Invulnerability (Not to everything. To some things.)- (Although it depends.)
Hypnosis!- (We could use the Charm Person rules. As in, they can’t do stuff that would normally be completely OOC/ They treat you as their best friend.)
Hmmm… I’ll get more later.
Telekinesis-
Telepathy- (I’m pretty much a telepath for real, anyway. We could also do reading emotions and/or memories, but not all three, I don’t think. Possibly thoughts+memories or emotions?)
Flying- (Depends whether or not the character can sprout wings or metamorphose into a half-bird/dragon and half-human. If they just fly without anything holding them up, no way.)
Super strength- (It isn’t really magic, is it? It sounds more like a superhero-type thing.)
Super speed- (Maybe…. possibly…. It might be pushing it.)
Clairvoyance- (Has anybody else read The Secret Life of Sparrow Delaney? Like that.)
Precognition- (Ooh yes, Hidden Talents. I loved that book. Also True Talents. I don’t think it’s that MSish…)
Teleportation- / (It could work. If it was using some sort of magic ring/bracelet/necklace.)
Invisibility- (I don’t think it’s that bad. It just needs to be ens only power, I think.)
Super senses- (Maybe….)
Invulnerability- (To which things?)
Hypnosis- (Hmm.)
I have more!
Shape-shifting- (If they can only shape-shift into one or two things.)
Time travel- (They should have a limit on how far they can travel and how much they can change.)
Healing powers- / (They could be okay. If they aren’t too big.)
Elemental powers- (If they only have one element, and there are only certain things they can do with it.)
Illusions- (Not a very strong power.)
Ooh, and if we’re thinking Hidden Talents, there’s the finding thing where the little voices speak to you, and the thing where you know everyone’s weakness and strength. Also we could do knowing other people’s magical talents by looking at them. Or telling extremely convincing lies.
Reading and manipulating emotions usually falls under supernatural empathy, rather than telepathy.
More powers:
Astral projection- (Sending your spirit out of your body to see things that are far away, during which time your body is left in a coma.)
Magic detection- (Being able to tell if others have magic.)
Some types of illusions can be dangerous. If they’re believable enough, and one “kills” you, you could actually die. At least, that’s how it works in DnD.
Ooh! Is True Talents a sequel?
I haven’t read The Secret Life of Sparrow Delaney. How does it work?
Ok, so the plot we’ve decided on is:
The Faerie world is spilling over onto Earth, and a handful of humans are beginning to discover their magical powers. Magic has existed on Earth all along, but most people didn’t know where to look for it. Now the beings from Faerie are enlisting these magical humans to fight in their war–a classic Good vs. Evil. Each side is trying to get to as many humans as possible.
Rules for making your character:
If they are human, then they can’t have more than a 30 on the MSLT. They are allowed to have 2 magical powers, but one should be stronger than the other.
My character:
Jakkb Myrtd
23 (In faerie years)
Telekinesis& Ability to become something else. As in, he can absorb himself into non-living things, hide there, and then come out. He can’t absorb into living things, as that would be too Mary-Sueish for me.His Telekinesis is faulty, where things sometime go the way he didn’t want them too.
He’s a bit of a snob, and disliked by most people. He has a low rank in the invading army. He’s on the Evil side.
Looks: Legolas with non-pointy ears.
Wait- Can he absorb into walls and then come out the other side?
Your telekinesis is faulty? Copycat!
What?
What to which thing? The copycat thing? or the Walking through Walls thing? IF the copycat thing, that’s just like my Sci Fi character.
So. Walking through walls might be a bit powerful. (Although this is your major ability.) Can he?
Not exactly. He can’t merge and reemerge in the speed that it would take to walk through a wall, because his sense of time is warped when he walks through.
Okay. That’s good. But he can still reemerge on either side he wants? That’s fine, I’m just wondering.
My character will be a human.
Name: Alecksaandra
Age: 12
Powers: Telekinesis. Her power is strong for a human.
Side: Good
Looks: Jet black hair, tan skin, shortish. She always wears jeans, sneakers, and a navy jacket with two blue stripes. Her unique feature is that the irises of her eyes are a dark cobalt color.
Characteristics: She’s not very nice, and no one wants to make her angry. She’s usually sarcastic, and determined, but not usually bossy. She’ll fight fiercely to protect her friends. (Oh yeah, and she doesn’t like being called Alecksaandra. Everyone calls her Alecksi.)
Oh, yeah. Alecksi lives in Boston.
AND, she has known about her power for a long time.
Can I join now and create a character, even though I won’t be able to do anything for weeks?
‘Course you can. Or you could make a character when you come back and write them in then. (That’s my plan.)
GAPAs? Did you snip my post, or did I not post it?
SR: We have neither snipped nor zapped any posts by you today.
Ha HA. I finally have my characters. (Yes, two. I couldn’t resist.)
Name: Only known as “Carmen.” No one knows if that’s her real name or not.
Age: No one really knows, but she looks like she’s about in her mid-twenties.
Powers: Can command fire (to a point) and knows people’s weaknesses (and strengths) by looking at them. (Yes, I know I’m a copycat.)
Side: Evil.
World: Faerie.
Looks: Long, shiny black hair; creepy-looking black eyes; golden-tan skin; extremely tall. Read: scary sorceress person.
Name: Skye Whelan
Age: 14
Powers: Can see and communicate with ghosts; can create illusions and disguises.
Side: Good.
World: Earth (Ireland).
Looks: Reddish-brown hair that’s a few inches below her shoulders; catlike green eyes; very pale-skinned, with freckles; 5’6”.
I HAD MY PYROKINESIS ALL PLANNED OUT!!! Can I please have that power from you? Of should I just get over it and use a character with that power too…?
Just have the same power. It’s fine. We already have two telekinetics.
((It’s strange, I can’t decide if I want to play or not. I love being characters with superhuman powers, but I’m not that big on fantasy in general.))
NAME : WALTER REYES
AGE: 13
POWERS: PYROKINETIC (Only when there is already fire)
SIDE: GOOD
WORLD: EARTH (NYC)
LOOKS: Long (for a boy) blonde hair, but not that long. He was born with a very strange eye-color; some people even thought that they were yellow. Average height.
BACKGROUND: His parents died in a very strange fire. Walter was unharmed, and escaped to live in a small town, where everyone respected him. He works in a crematorium. Lives in an abandoned cottage in the woods. Is curious about his power, but doesn’t think that it is real.
Name: Jamie Noel
Age: 13
Power: Shapeshifting (only into mammals, and only non-extinct mammals she has seen/has seen in photos, and she can’t talk unless she’s in human form)
Side: Unknown
World: Earth
Looks: Bobbed dark brown hair, gray-green eyes, tall for her age.
Knows About Power? No.
Name: Ailissa Paxton
Age: 14
Side: Double agent. On neither side. Each side thinks she’s spying for them. May have her own side (shadow?). I don’t know yet.
World: Earth.
Powers: Gywn thought up the power of shadow. Like, taking the light or darkness away from a room or an area; or hiding something in shadow, like near invisibilty but not quite. If they’re looking for you, they can see you. But, if they’re not actively looking for YOU, then it’s just like a notice-me-not charm. On a tangent, taking the light completely away would probably kill a plant, or could probably save it. Is this pushing it? Because this is the only power I’ll have.
Description and History: Gray eyes (and yes, people in the real world have this color) with shadows under them; pale, almost completely white skin with no freckles or tan (why would she have any if she spends no time in the sun?); small and fragile, but can use a knife well; black hair, medium length, often used to cloak face; very light footsteps, from a life of sneaking around. Half of her family is on the light side (mother’s) and half of her family is on the dark side (father’s). Originally raised by her mother, but then stolen away by her father, Aillissa has seen both the evils and goods of both sides, and liked neither. Both sides think her useful, but do not want to completely welcome her into their society. Maybe friends with Jamie? Who knows? I don’t think even she does.
I would like to participate in this, but even with only 13 posts it’s getting a bit difficult to follow along. For right now I think I will just observe this thread from a distance but I guess you guys will know that I’ll be watching…mwhahahahaha!!
I think time travel should be acceptable. Instead of limits on how much can be changed, I think there should be limits on how often en can travel and how long en can stay outside ens own time.
What is the MSLT?
The Mary Sue Litmus Test. Google it.
I’m waiting to RP until someone approves my powers. When I get home from dropping my sister off at band camp, I’ll be making another character.
I like your powers.
I would approve hem if I was on some sort of power-approving committee. Perhaps I am…
Zinc, your powers are fine.
I’m going to make another character, because I feel like it.
Name: Jacques Libren
Age: 17
Description: Short, black hair. Asian human. A person who always works for himself, and has no loyalty.
Powers: Stealing other’s powers
Limits on Powers: Unable to steal more than one person’s powers.
Known/Unknown: Unknown
Weapon (because one power): The Helmet of Influx. It increases your ability to use your power. (Power is sucked from other person faster)
Side: Whichever is winning
Sigh… Can’t I ever make nice characters that aren’t self obsessed?
Name: Umbra Eon
Age: 11
Power: Um…she can control darkness and shadows to a point (as a side result, she can turn invisible by melting into the shadows), and she can also produce poison from her body. That is a newly-developed power, however, so it’s very weak.
Side: Unknown
World: Earth
Looks: Umbra is tall for her age, with long silky black hair, and orange-yellow eyes. She’s very thin, likes wearing black clothes-she wears black armwarmers and legwarmers with golden rings, and she has skin that’s almost white.
Knows About Power? She knows, but she doesn’t tell anyone because she thinks they’d never believe her.
Name: Espa
Age: 150 (as in, she looks 15, but she’s really 150 years old…got it?)
Power: Espa can predict her opponents’ movements by reading the air currents. She can also produce energy from any point of her body, usually produced in rays and spheres, but she needs to train it more…as in, her energy powers are totally weak! She is also very agile and is somewhat psychic.
Side: Unknown
World: Faerie
Looks: Espa is about 5’6. Her skin is actually void white-with a purplish tint-and she has purple cat ears instead of normal ears. Her hair is purple, she has a red nickel-sized gem on her forehead, and she also has a purple forked cat tail. Her eyes are black with white pupils, and are anime large; they are also exotic-shaped. She wears a light purple outfit, almost like a bodysuit but it’s pants and a shirt.
Knows About Power? Yep.
WAIT~! Note: Umbra’s eyes are gold, which is much more natural. Even though her power might have influenced her appearance, her eyes should still be gold. Yes, people really do have gold eyes.
And, no, I did not take her primary power from Zinc. I’ve been writing that post for like…two days. That’s ok, right? Approvers, limiters, anyone?
When I read that, I whimpered. I really did whimper. But I did not enter your mind and steal it.
Ooh! Ooh! Umbra and Ailissa should know each other!
((I shall make a character, although I’ll only have internet access for about a week until I get back to the US.))
Name: Alecai
Age: 14
Gender: female
Normal Looks: Long, light-brown hair (falls past shoulders). Blue-grey eyes. Pale skin. (All colors are faded from morphing a lot.)
Wears white tank top, bleached jeans.
Major Power: Can alter every aspect of appearance.
Limits: Cannot yet control how long appearance remains changed. After about 20 minutes her looks begin to demorph back to normal.
Minor power: Control people’s thoughts. Or rather, to guide them onto the right train of thought.
Drawback: While attempting to influence someone else, she often ends up shifting to their way of thinking and their ideas.
Side: We shall see.
Knows about power: Yes. As a little kid, she would unconsciously mimic other people’s looks. Needless to say, her parents had to keep a close eye on her.
((Daisy*chain, I am envious of your in-Russia-ness.))
((Ahaha don’t be! Eight now I’m very jet-lagged as the flight took about 10 hours. I got up at the crack if dawn today (Russian time).
I can’t wait to go sightseeing though!
Except it’s raining…))
((Hey, GAPAs? What’s up with the post numbers? My post ended up before SR’s, and there’s two 20.1’s, one of which isn’t even a reply!))
I don’t know! That really is very odd. I wonder where this post will appear… .
((Hmm, the replies seem to work normally, but SR’s posts are determined to stay at the bottom of the page! ))
((I’m a bottom feeder.))
((SFTDP- I just thought of this- Could it be that my comment was replying to an unmoderated comment that was then zapped? But then, what about my other one…))
((That looks like it must have been what happened. Any subsequent replies would continue to line up at the bottom of the page. Since neither comment is part of the RPG, I’m deleting them to avoid further confusion.))
((That might just be it!
GAPAs? Maybe if you zapped SudoRandom’s posts at the bottom (if you don’t mind, SR…) so that this confusion could end. Do you mind, SudoRandom?))
((…Never mind… ))
Name: Adelaide Moore
Age: 14
World: Earth
Side: Unknown
Power: Invisibility
Looks: Green eyes, long black hair, pale skin, average height
Knows about Power: Yes
I may do another character when I can think of a power for them.
Oh, and she’s always called Ada.
19.1-I’m sorry! -pets Zinc and whimpers as well- But ooh~! Yes, have them know each other, it’s more fun that way?
Yesh! Are you a double agent too?
Hmmm… this looks fun!
Name: Unknown
Age: 12
World: Earth
Side: Unknown
Power: Telekinesis
Looks: Black eyes, jet-black hair, slightly on the short side
Knows about Power: Has used it but is unaware that he is the user
History: Knows nothing about the war. In fact, knows little about his own past, even his own name
Is that too Mary Sue-ish? Even if it is, can I keep him because he reminds me of Shadow ?
Whoa whoa whoa whoa, how did mine end up before SudoRandom’s when he posted several hours before me?
Heheh, not too MSish for me–I’m planning to do something similar in BA as soon as we get to the DoH. My new character, you know. This will be FUN.
I think I’ll give myself another character…
Name: Aarronn (He’s Alecksi’s twin. It’s much easier for me to keep track that way.)
Side: Good
Power: Shape shifting (strong)
Looks: Black hair that goes a bit past his ears, tannish skin, shortish. He wears cargo pants, a forest green sweatshirt, and a T-shirt. He has brown eyes, but when he uses his powers, they hint toward reddish.
Characteristics: He’s usually calm and pleasant. He’s the one who calms his sister down when she blows up.
World: Earth, Boston
Knows About Powers?: Yes, for around the same amount of time as his sister.
((Would it be acceptable for a character to be a human agent of the Faerie world?))
((Yes, of course.))
((GAPAs, I posted a post this morning, and it’s not up. Oh well. It’s a new character for me.))
Name: Samuel Marakand
Age: 16
Power: Stealing other’s powers. He can take away other people’s powers, but can only do one person ata time.
Side: Whichever’s winning.
Personality: Scheming, and always tries to get what he wants, and usually does.
Looks: Asian human
Magical Weapon: The Mace of Lightness. Temporarily blinds the enemy they rush into battle.
((Sigh… Can’t I write non-self obsessed characters?))
((Never saw it, Enceladus. I checked the spam filter, too.))
See comment 17.
((Yeah, I swear I remember reading this. Except I thought that your magic weapon was that it made your power stronger.))
Aillissa ignored the mutters of the faerie’s armies as she slinked through the base camp. The whole camp was told that she was coming today, so there was no use in trying to conceal herself. That would seem suspicious, and information from both sides is what she needed, not only one. True, people on both sides suspected her as a spy, but she always fed them true information, keeping the ones that worked to her advantage to herself. She was the best one her side had, and she wasn’t about to fall from the top of their carefully constructed pyramid.
“Paxton,” The faerie leader greeted her with a sharp nod and a syllable. Polite. she thought dryly. “Location?”
“At the southern end of Lake Van.”
“Weapons?”
“New developments. Couldn’t see them, just found out they’re new.”
The leader reluctantly dropped a glinting coin into her palm. The instant it touched her skin, it changed into a glinting silver knife.
She fixed him with a stare as she slipped the knife in her cloak. She flitted out of the camp.
Three hours later, cloaked in concealment and helped by the setting sun, she slid back in.
((Oh, the thing with the coin to knife is that it’s a high class weapon. She had delayed payment 50 times to get the coin.
The deal is that when it touches your skin, it changes to the weapon of the user’s best ability. For Ai it would change into a knife, and for, um, Cobalt it would change into a sword. It changes for every person. It’s a high classs weapon.))
((Oops, I forgot to add that Samuel doesn’t know about his powers.))
SAMUEL
Samuel walked through the faerie campsite, where the “evil” army was amassing. Fools. Don’t they know there is no evil, and no good, only winning and losing? he thought cynically. He was going to the campsite to find out whether the side was winning, or losing, how many fighters it had, stuff like that. Of course, he’d never stay with a side for long, only trying to rise to the top. He’d say he was going to go spy on the other side. When he got there, he’d give them false information, that wouldn’t lead them to defeat, but would lead to getting their leaders killed, so hopefully, he could move in. Then, he’d say he was spying for the other side, and return, do the same thing, and eventually rule both armies. But, that would take years. Now, he had a secure position on both sides. As the lowest general. But he would kill the one above him, as he was next in line. And he could do this all without powers.
“Sir, there you are! How was your spying?” The top soldier in his file spoke to him. This soldier had telekinesis.
“Very good. Those false faeries, the ones helping the people, have decided they’re going to try and attack us at dawn tomorrow. They’ll have to leave around midnight to get here, so I suggest having a few secret operatives leave under cover of night, go in, and slaughter their leaders. How’s that sound?”
“Fine. Who do you suggest?”
“I think that General Batrmetin would be perfect. He’s small, and has the power of hidenness. Meaning he can stay hidden easily.”
“Great.” The soldier laid a hand on him.
“Well, I’d best be going to report this to the top officers. Bye.” Samuel walked away. The top soldier tried to pull a pitcher of water over to him, but nothing happened. Odd. Samuel, meanwhile, bent over to get a book someone had dropped. It flew up into his hand. That’s never happened to me before. Samuel thought. And I really don’t like it. The pitcher of water flew into the top soldier’s hand. I wonder if that’s my power. Taking other’s powers…
((24- Not really.
*debates* See, I have a character that I was thinking of putting in the SH+MS RP, but would also work well here… *whaps head on wall* Argh… Argh… Argh… Well, I guess I’ll insert it here, ’cause I already have two on the other.))
Name: Cassandra Eldred
Age: 13
World: Earth
Side: Doesn’t know about war (will probably be good).
Knows about powers: No, although she has some suspicions.
Powers: Can see the past, the present, and alternate presents. Can also see a very limited amout of the future. (Still images only, no control over it. She can (will be able to), to a limited extent, control other seeings.) Particularly sensitive to other’s pain,
Looks: Green eyes, chin length dark brow hair, about 5’4. Pale skin.
History:
Grew up completely normal, except for occasionally telling someone about something she had no right to know. (What happened Aug 12, 1238, exactly where in the store her mother was) She had a few close friends, but they’ve all moved, or drifted away. She keeps in contact with one, but otherwise keeps to herself. With her solitude, her powers have grown more evident, although she doesn’t tell.
Other: Is called Cassie by most of her friends, family, and others, but doesn’t like it.
I will probably add a fairy at some point, but right now I’m sticking with just Cassie.))
Cassandra:
I was reading a book, under the oak tree in my front lawn, when I fell asleep. I knew I was asleep, because I was surrounded by fairy-like creatures. A girl was walking through the camp, looking around. The creatures around her were parting in front of her, as if they weren’t too happy with the girl. They looked like they were muttering, but I couldn’t hear any sound. The girl stopped in front of one of the people, and the person said one, short, word.
Then I woke up.
My book had fallen over, though it retained the same page. My head was leaning against the tree, although I had the strange sensation that I hadn’t closed my eyes. Another one of my odd dreams then. I had problems with going to sleep in the middle of the day. Why, when I was trying so hard to be normal?
((*Dark brown hair. Sorry.))
23.1-She was taken by the faeries as a young child, and developed her powers in an escape. But she will likely be good, because I want Espa to turn evil eventually…Umbra is sorta-but-not-really-a-double-agent.
((I think I will insert myself now. And just for the heck of it, I decided to change my character’s age to 14. Bleh.))
I wandered through the forest, trying to remember something… anything. “Who am I… and why can’t I remember anything?” I said, kicking a stone into a tree. Then I heard someone else nearby. I quickly hid behind a tree – I wasn’t much of a social person since I couldn’t really remember anything about my past, and thus, was a poor conversationalist.
I could hear whoever it was on the other side of the tree, and I slowly sidled in the opposite direction. Unfortunately, I stepped on a tree branch – it cracked and I froze. There was really no point in continuing to hide now. Whoever it was walked around the tree and saw me. She had long, light-brown hair and slightly large blue-grey eyes.
“Oh, hello. Who are you?” she asked, staring at me curiously.
“I’m… uh, I’m… my name is…” I stuttered. Her brow furrowed as she asked, “Is something wrong?”
“Yes, you’re staring straight at me and it’s making me feel creeped out and also somewhat embarrassing.”
((I don’t know why, but Alecai reminds me of Luna Lovegood. *shrug*))
((Luna Lovegood is the best!))
I smiled. “Yes, I have that effect on people.”
This was why I disliked my normal appearance; I didn’t know this person, but already he knew what I really looked like.
“So you don’t know your name, then?” I asked curiously.
“…Well, I do- I mean I probably did…” he stammered.
“Oh, well that’s ok, then. As long as you knew. I, for one, don’t know what I look like!”
The boy looked confused. “How do you not know that? Haven’t you seen a mirror?”
“I have. But I usually look different.” I decided to show him my ability.
I focused on what he looked like, and felt myself morphing into an exact replica of the boy in front of me.
He stepped back, looking alarmed.
“What-? H-how did you do that?”
“Magic.” I smiled.
The boy instantly laughed disbelievingly. “Magic? Suure. Nice trick. Now change back.”
“Well, actually, I can’t. Not yet. But I’ll be back to normal in a few minutes. It really is magic though! I knew when I saw you; you’re like me! You can do magic too, can’t you?”
((Does anyone want to be friends with Walter? He’s pyrokinetic… I don’t want him to be cut out of the story like Xavier))
((Maybe he could be exploring in the woods and run into us or something))
((OOH! ME! I REALLY DON’T WANT MY CHARACTER TO END UP A TOTAL PSYCHO LIKE ODUS DID! I think having a friend will help.))
((*looks up Luna in the Harry Potter Wiki* yep, definitely Luna.))
I relaxed a little bit. She seemed quite friendly, although it was disconcerting talking to yourself. But that was another reason why I was still tensed – this whole “magic” thing. She had said I could do magic, too – could I?
“I’m… not entirely sure,” I said, shuffling my feet a little. “I’ve been living in the woods for a day or two, and occasionally when there’s a piece of fruit or something that’s out of reach, I’d think how nice it would be to knock it down with a thrown branch, and suddenly-” I snapped my fingers, “-said branch is flying at the fruit. But it’s probably not me… it’s probably someone nearby who I can’t see.”
“Well, we can test to see if it’s you or not,” she said brightly. “I know I don’t have any telekinesis powers, and there’s no one else nearby. Why don’t you try throwing that rock into the air without touching it?”
I nodded and focused on the rock. After only a second, it flew into the air and hit a tree right next to me. “Cool,” I said, finally smiling.
((Oh, I forgot to mention. Skye sort of knows about her powers; she knows that no one else can see ghosts, but she doesn’t think of it as a power. She doesn’t know about the illusion thing, though.))
((Skye lives in Ireland, by the way. I think that would be a good place for the main Faerie camp/war.))
((34 & 34.2- How ’bout I bring you both in?))
((35- Yeah, since you pointed that out before, I decided to go ahead and make Alecai act completely like Luna. It might all be an act, though, I’m not sure yet.))
I applauded as the rock flung itself at the tree.
“Cool,” the boy said.
“Yes, very!” I agreed.
From behind us came a gasp.
“Who’s there?” my companion whirled around.
“More people! Come out, come out wherever you are!” I sang cheerfully.
Two boys stepped out from their hiding place.
The blond one was staring at the place where the rock had fallen. The other was watching me fade back to my normal appearance.
((SudoRandom, you never posted your character description, did you?))
((Or anything about en, for that matter…))
(( We don’t have many faerie characters.))
I haven’t decided on a name. What kind of names would a Faerie person have?
Age: 13 in faerie years
Side: Good. Works to recruit humans to the good side, especially kids, who seem to be receiving most of the powers, because he is a kid.
Power: Can create new animal species to help him.
Limits: Can’t give animals attributes that he hasn’t seen in other animals, the animals will not necessarily do what he wants, and it takes him longer to create a species the larger and more powerful it is.
Description: Light brown hair, hazel eyes.
((I’ve decided that Alecksi and Aarronn are the children of a Faerie and a Human. That would explain strange names and strong powers.))
Alecksi and Aarronn made their way through Boston.
“This is our fun day!” Alecksi protested, “Dad said so!”
“Fun means normal fun, not freaking people out. Even Dad doesn’t know about our powers! What if someone found out? You know what would happen then…” Her brother trailed off, uncertain. “Did you here that?” They turned, to see a strange person slipping out of the shadows.
“Faerie,” Alecksi said, “Why are you here?”
((I was thinking that could be your character, Amblystoma.))
((Or it could be someone else…))
((May I join?))
((NAME: Raven
RACE: faerie.
LOOKS: Small and slender, with so-black-it-looks-blue hair and (freaky!) mysterious cloudy grey-blue eyes. Usually wears jeans and a t-shirt. Has pale skin. Has wings (think ravens). With which she can actually fly.
POWERS: Shape-shifting, has a strong talent for Water magics in general, and telekinesis. (I’ve always thought that would be a cool thing to be able to do)
SIDE: Good.))
((f&h, can you possibly take off the telekinesis? We already have–uh, a lot–of characters who have that power. Also, we can only have two powers at the most. I do like the character description, though. It’s a lot like my envisionings of some faeries.))
((ok. how about my water magic includes making water come out of midair and kinda slide under stuff then solidifieing and lifting the stuff into the air? is that allowed?))
That would work, yes.
How can I write Skye in when she’s in Ireland and everyone else is in America?
(( Well, of course the War would be all over the place, right? Plus I haven’t yet specified where Raven’s troop resides……………….))
((You can come join the happy gathering consisting of Raven, Leona, and Cassandra! None of us has specified where the meeting is, so it would be easy for it to be in Ireland!))
Oh actually, yes. That would be a better idea, wouldn’t it? *takes*
((Amblystoma could get my characters and bring them to Ireland…))
Good idea. I’ll take it.
((Yes! I need a Water person to rival my character. Can you make en evil?))
((And then could both of you contact Samuel at the evil campsite? I pretty sure I’m going to abandon Jakkb))
((And then could both of you contact Samuel at the evil campsite? I pretty sure I’m going to abandon Jakkb. I also took the Mary Sue test, and Samuel got a 3. Although, there were things it didn’t ask, such as “Is you character evil, but everyone else treats them perfectly kindly?” That I think would have added to my score. Perhaps a 5.))
Name: Kiya Meridi
Age: 36
World: Earth
Side: Good
Knows about powers: Yes, she is practiced with her abilities but still improving.
Powers: Empathy. She can sense other people’s feelings and tell if they are lying, and project emotions to others, making them feel a certain way.
Looks: Black hair, brown eyes (blue when using powers), copperish skin.
Equipment: Wears a necklace that gives her the ability of astral projection.
Limits: People familiar with magic are immune to her powers, she can only sense and project emotion and the rough edges of thoughts, not details or images.
While projecting her spirit out of her body, Kiya’s body is in a coma and vulnerable to attack. In her spirit form, she cannot be seen or use her powers without great effort. When not wearing the necklace, she cannot send her spirit out.
History: Kiya discovered the faerie world accidentally a few years before the current war and was recruited as an agent by the good faerie side to monitor magical activity on Earth. She has moved around several times in the past on her mission and currently runs an antique shop in New York.
((My idea is that she gets contacted by her masters and assigned to work with Amblystoma’s character.))
((I’m going to join, if only to stay on the sidelines and snicker at all the supposedly non-Mary Sue characters.))
My character:
Name: Arthur Campbell
Race: Human
Age: Early thirties
World: Earth
Side: Human / Indifferent
Power: None
Looks: About 5’9″, slightly chubby, glasses — average, basically
Mm, I forgot to add that, on the Mary Sue Litmus Test I took, Arthur scored a negative one. I’d be curious to see everyone else’s scores–some of them sound suspiciously Mary Sue-ish to me.
Major amnesia is not idealized, nor is black hair and black eyes at the same time (you come across as emo).
I’m not quite sure what you mean by this. But yes, I suppose I do come across as rather emo. Sadly, though, I do not have black hair, wear eyeliner, have piercings, wear tight black jeans, or any of that. I just have a propensity to wear black t-shirts.
I was talking about my character. Sorry for the confusion!
((When I took it, I got a 5. But that’s at this point, where we’ve only just started RP-ing. My characters aren’t carefully planned out from the beginning of a RPG.))
Any of my characters Mary Sues? I gave them both personality flaws.
It’s entirely possible that they are, but you’re the one who has to do the litmus tests. Google “mary sue litmus test” and use the first result. It has a section for “De-Suifiers”, which are things that make a character less likely to be a Mary Sue. That’s how I was in the negative.
It has a section for De-Suifiers? Not what I found.
There are a lot of litmus tests. To see the one I used, Google “the universal mary sue litmus test”. That should probably bring it up as the first result.
((Oh! Oh! I’m going to join!
NAME: Leona (Lee-OH-na)
RACE: Unknown to her. Faerie.
APPEARANCE: extremely long, so-blond-its-white, hair, really bright green eyes, pale but not extremely pale skin. likes being a little girly, so she usually wears a dress. She is developing transparent, easily hidden, wings.
POWERS: She knows that she has them: shape-shifts into a cat, eagle, and others to be discovered in adventure. Has a strong talent for controlling nature, aka quick plant growth, talking to animals, some weather control, etc.
HISTORY: Her parents are all-organic, green, environmentally friendly nature freaks – that are human! She”s a mud-blood of the faerie world. She has kept her powers a secret. Reads Harry Potter religiously. (Is that okay, GAPAs?)
I’m kind of confused about this, so could someone help me write myself in and give me a brief summary?
Please????))
((All right, you and I can run into each other somewhere and I recognize you as another faerie and ask you what side you are on, but you have no idea what I am talking about. Sounds good? If not, then what follows can be ignored.))
Raven sat against a tree, idly making a pebble hop around. Suddenly she saw another faerie and shot up. “Which side?” she said warily. The other girl looked confused. “Pardon?” she said, puzzled. Raven sighed. “WHICH SIDE?” she yelled. Obviously the other was a bit short of hearing range, or some such. Or not? The other still looked quite confused. Wait, of course! She must be one of the changelings! ((right?)) Raven quickly changed tactics. “Sorry, thought you were someone else. What’s your name? I’m Raven. Winter Raven, really, not that it matters. If you like you could call me Winter as well. But Raven’s better.” she said politely. The other girl nodded. “Oh, okay. I’m Leona. Nice to meet you, Raven.” she replied, looking a bit muddled still. Raven sighed. “Do you have any special powers?” she asked. “Er, yeah, I s’pose.” Leona answered. “I can shape-shift occasionally, and stuff like that….” Raven grinned. “Like this?” she said, and changed into her favourite, the raven. Leona nodded. Yup, she’s one of the changelings all right!, Raven thought. It’s a good thing I found her before the bad faeries did!
((was that good? changeling is the faerie equivalent of mudblood..))
((Great! Just don’t tell her too much right away, I like that it’s a surprise!))
Leona’s jaw dropped.
“I know no one else that has powers!” she giggled, “I can’t believe it! Oh, and i can also do things like this.” She went on to push an acorn into the ground, make it rain over it, and force it to grow into a giant oak, where one branch was bent into the phrase ‘nature girl’.
(( ))
“So what did you mean by ‘which side’?” she asked.
Raven shrugged. “Oh, ya know, it’s a simple matter of whether you would like to help evil people from another world take over this one, or help the good people from that same world lock the evil ones up. I’m one of the good people. If you’d rather have this world in the hands of the evil people, I’d like to have some warning so I can tell my troop that the other side has a new recruit. Ya know?” she said nonchalantly. ((oh yeah, Raven’s quite young for a faerie, maybe the faerie equivalent of 14 years old (I’m not sure how many human years that would be) and is a scout for her troop.)) She winked at Leona and lifted up a small pebble that was several feet away and made it hop around like a frog. Wonder which side she’ll choose, she wondered idly. Not that it really matters. Although it would be nice to have a friend if she did choose Raven’s side…………Raven watched Leona’s face carefully, speculating which side she would choose.
((Okay. Leona now is also stubborn, afraid of the dark, and will run away in cowardice when she is endangered the first time by people/faeries with magic. It’s new to her, so she’ll be freaked.))
I think my character shall be named Mia (I name everything Mia. It’s such a silver, sparkling name). Her powers include:
-Summoning ocean currents and waves (I’ve been reading Percy Jackson recently)
-Making objects appear out of thin air when she needs them
-Extreme cleverness
-Invisibility
-Telekinesis
-Other ones that she will discover later
Yikes! Too many powers! Please read the first few posts.
Maybe, instead of narrowing those powers down, we all should have more powers. To even the playing field.
No. If everyone has all those powers then everyone will be discovering random ones in the middle of battles. Kokopelli52, you have to choose two of those powers. No more. And you have to take the Mary Sue Litmus Test and have under a 30. (Perhaps we should push that up a little. 20?…) If you don’t know what that is, Google it.
Okay, scratch the Making objects appear out of thin air when she needs them, invisibility, and the Other Ones, and make extreme cleverness a quality, not a power. Please don’t push it up. I got 28. Erp.
Yeah, if you got that close, I would say tone your character down anyway
She can’t do everything… But she does sound awesome.
Name: Marie Petris
Age: 21
World: Earth
Side: Evil
Knows about powers: Yes, she is very good at using her ability.
Powers: Wind control. She can make the wind blow strong enough to lift things into the air, though she cannot steer them once they are up there. Wind basically means all moving air, including breath, but she cannot make people speak things, because that would involve vocal cords. And, of course, there is just ordinary moving air.
Looks: Short, straight, dark brown hair cut at her shoulders. Hazel eyes. A pale complexion-she gets sunburns easily. Rectangular-shaped glasses with blue rhinestones. Average height. A bit too thin. A runner’s body-she runs a lot, for fun. A sleeveless top, usually black, and black trousers that are easy to move in.
Equipment: None.
Limits: She can control winds, but not a lot of wind at a time, and not from very far away. She can take a wind and send it far away, but at some point it slips out of her control, and she can never take control of a wind far away from her. She cannot control the things she is manipulating with the wind, so it is basically a blunt instrument.
History: Marie joined the evil side when they approached her two years ago. She works as an assassin for evil in exchange for food, freedom in the faerie world, a place to stay, and protection from the good side.
Woot?
((All right. In an attempt to have at least one normal character in this story, I will create one completely whacked out character in the hopes that my other one will be normal.
Name: Gary Stu
Age: 34
World: Earth
Side: Good, but for evil reasons.
Knows about powers: Yes.
Powers: Can see other peoples powers, and can flicker out of this plane- Not very long, but long enough to travel (Not very accurately) or dodge some attacks.
Looks: Your typical evil dude- you know, that curly mustache, goatee, tall, etc.
Equipment: Sword. Non-magical. (This is taking place in the past? And what exactly is the war about?)
Limits: He can stay in other planes for up to 4 minutes so far, but only if he hasn’t used this power for a long time, and if he tries to do something to complicated, he lands back in his standard plane. He can only see someones power if he sees their face, but if he sees them at all he can tell whether or not they have one.
History: Joined the good side when they looked like they were winning, but when the war is over he intends to be top banana.
Piggy, I want your first impression- does this guy seem too Mary Sue-ish?
And Fishy, this guy isn’t your friend.))
No, Gary seems fine to me, but still take the litmus test anyway.
((I think this is in the present.))
((Yayz, my as-of-yet-unnamed character only scored a 12 on the MSLT!
44 – Everyone is freaking me out with names this year!))
((I’ll just leave out SR’s character for now. He’ll just kind of stand there. Perhaps that will have something to do with his power? It’s up to you, SudoRandom))
((I’m feeling first person with this RPG))
“More people! Come out, come out wherever you are!â€
I walked out of the tree where I was hiding. The one on the right was very confused, and very afraid. The girl on the left was extremely excited. I wondered why.
“This is great! More magic!” She said.
“Magic?!” I exclaimed.
“Yes, magic. I can feel it. You all have powers! Don’t tell me you don’t know!?”
“Well, umm, is this some kind of joke?” I asked. This couldn’t be real. I had went into the forest when I heard some voices. I thought it was a couple of lovebirds, and I wanted to ruin their “moment.” I could’ve used a laugh in my worthless heap of a life.
“No! What can you do?!” She asked, excitedly.
“Um, nothing! I’m just a guy! I think you need some help-” I was cut-off by her morphing. In a couple of seconds, she looked just like me. I looked around for a mirror, or a camera, but there was nothing. She had my body now.
“Whoa…”
“Do you believe me now?”
“Umm… Sure… But what does this have to do with me!?” I was confused.
“You’re special!”
“You mean that… I can change like you?”
“Probably not. I have not met anyone like me before…” With this, I sensed a bit of loneliness.
“Whatever… I need a smoke.” I took a pack out of my pocket. I took out my lighter, and lit it. When the fire hit the cigarette, the fire grew to the size of my hand, as it always did.
The girl clapped her hands, “Bravo! Do it again!”
“Do what?”
“Make the fire grow!”
“It always does that.” I thought about that. I always assumed it was the cigarette, but then I realized that When other people lit up, it hadn’t. Perhaps I was special. I tried it again. I felt the heat grow inside the cigarette. Suddenly, the fire danced in circles.
“Huha!”
The girl clapped again, “This is great!”
I didn’t hear her. I was enjoying the fire. I concentrated harder. I could make the fire into specific shapes. I made a small man, and a lion. I commanded them to fight. I gave the man a spear. I knew the outcome of the battle; I was controlling it. The man stabbed the lion and waved his spear in victory. I could make tiny details. A medal, the wound in the tiger. Then suddenly the figures grew. Larger and larger. The man stabbed a tree with his spear. I could not control them. The tree caught fire. As I looked around in horror, I looked at the lion. He looked at me with a scared look on his face. No, pity. Then I could even start to sense emotions from the figures that I created. As all of the trees around me were burning ferociously, I realized this had to stop. And it did.
All of the trees were dead, charred. The girl looked at me. I couldn’t sense any emotion from her. Perhaps… wonder? Maybe.
“That was amazing,” Still, no emotion, “Do not do it again.”
Without another word she started walking into the forest. Something told me she wanted us to follow.
All right, haven’t posted for a while anyway,

age:110
world: Fae (fairy)

powers:Necromancy
looks: gray, tail, pointy ears
equipment: scythe, cloak, orb of souls.
limits: he needs the orb to summon undead. He can summon 6 undead (zombies) less powerful each time until they’re destroyed not the same as the people no memory of past life. When he takes a soul it is gone no using.
Is it to mary-sueish?
let me know
history: got his powers when he was banishe from a fairy city. People think he’s evil and unnatural but really he’s not.
That seems very like a Mary Sue to me–Google “the universal mary sue litmus test” and use the first result to find out if it is or not.
((I’m going to make Leona scared of shadows, just because.
*takes test*
My character got a 22. Is that okay?))
((Yes. You’re under a 30, so you’re good. However, you might want to tweak her personality and/or powers a little to take off some of the Sue-like characteristics.))
((Carmen got a 0 and Skye got a 1. ))
((Some of the parts of the test, such as always having pocket money, and wearing cool clothes, may not apply to this RPG. To anyone who is trying to lower ens score, eliminate those first. They are not necessary for this RPG))
((Aillissa got a 9.))
((Kiya got a 5.))
((So, SR, is Gary coming with us? I’m assuming he is.))
I walked away from the circle of burnt trees, still reeling from what the blond boy had done. I’d lost my facade back there, and was determined to get it back up. I had to act spacey and innocent so they would trust me.
“Where exactly are we going?” The first boy I’d meant asked.
“I don’t really know!” I replied cheerfully. “Except we have to get away from where the trees have been burnt. We don’t want to be there when the forest fairy patrols get there.”
“Fairies? First magic and now fairies?” the blond boy muttered incredulously.
“Yes. Fairies. They’re not as fluttery and peppy as the stories make them out to be.” I said, rather grimly.
I turned to our third companion. “You know about the war, don’t you?”
The man looked shifty. “I-”
I cut him off. “But where are my manners?! I still haven’t introduced myself! I’m Alecai.”
“I’m Walter.” the blond boy said, taking a puff of a second cigarette.
“John.” said the shifty-looking man.
I pouted. “Your real name please?”
He grimaced, but muttered, “Gary.”
We all turned to the black-haired boy.
“What’s your name?” asked Walter.
“…I don’t have one.”
“Yes, but we still need to call you something…” I mused. “I can’t keep thinking of you as ‘the black-haired boy’.”
((That’s your cue, I-Man. We need a name, even if it’s only temporary (if he regains his memory somehow). ))
((Don’t you think you should have some disagreement with me saying that I shouldn’t smoke… Or perhaps you’re too happy?))
((42.1- Cassandra’s a 7. She may be higher, or lower, later, when more has happened.
I do see some suspiciously Sue characters around…
Anyway, I’m considering who I’m going to have my character run in to. Not literally, of course. Hm… I’ll go with Raven and Leona. It’ll be interesting.))
Cassandra:
After supper, I went back outside. I had finished my book, so I just sat down under my tree and thought. After a moment or two, I heard voices. A moment later, I was walking toward them, as if I were being drawn closer. As I got closer, I heard one of them saying something.
“That the other side has a new recruit. Ya know?â€
I froze. ‘The other side’ sounded like a war. What was happening? Did I really want to know? Yes, I did. I took another few steps, putting myself in their line of vision.
Raven and Leona were sitting silently, contemplating their (most likely) very different thoughts, when Raven saw a girl walking towards us. In her alarm, she shot up into the air, her raven’s wings flapping frantically. “Why is this my day for running into people?” she muttered to herself. Leona, startled by Raven’s sudden movement, turned around to see what Raven was looking at. Raven sighed and asked, “Which side?” for the second time that day. Also for the second time that day, the other girl looked muddled. Drat. “Who are you, that is.”, she said resignedly. The other girl looked at her. She sighed and sank back down to the ground. She could tell that the other girl was trying to decide whether she was trustworthy or not. “By the Light, I swear!”, she cursed to herself under her breath. ((Refer to the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan if you would like to know about the “Light”. Is this good, Errata?))
((Is there a specific location for this now-blazing forest, or is it just in Generic Forestland?))
Arthur stumbled blearily out of bed and rudely shoved his glasses onto his face, vaguely thinking that perhaps taking a week off from work to stay in a rented cabin wasn’t such a good idea after all. He had been astonished that someone could think of wool sheets as a good idea. He shuffled into the bathroom and tried to shave, but soon found that the razor had grown to despise its owner. Cheeks dotted with bits of now-red tissue and patches of stubble, he found his way into the small kitchen. “Coffee,” thought his subconscious. However, much to his half-awake chagrin, a quick pillaging of the cabinets effected not even a hint of caffeine. Too exhausted to complain, he settled for a bowl of stale Corn Flakes and a glass of overly-acidic orange juice. After finding that there was no soap under the sink, that the radio hadn’t seen batteries in years, and that the shower seemed to have teamed up with the razor, he decided (having been awoken by what he considered to be a criminal lack of hot water) to follow the trail he had found yesterday. But no sooner was he out the battered door that his nostrils were filled with smoke. “Wh-what the h-hell?” he coughed to himself. But, not being the type to give up easily (or so he thought, annoyed), he tied his handkerchief over his nose and mouth and decided to investigate.
(You can be involved! But it’s not burning any more, by the way. There probably is a lot of smoke, though.))
((Oh. So it is. I somehow missed the last six or so lines of your post.))
((SFTDP Oh, sorry, I didn’t answer your question… Yeah, I don’t think we had a specifi place in mind.))
((54.1- That’s fine.))
“Which side?”
What was with that girl and ‘sides’? I’m sure I looked confused, as she changed her question. “Who are you, that is.”
I paused for a moment, sorting through this. If she was involved in a war, or something, did I really want to talk to her? She sighed, and muttered something to herself. I made my decision. “I’m Cassandra. Who are you?”
((*coughcough* Would anybody like to interact with my character? We need more evil guys.))
((55 – Just Generic Forestland, and it’s not all burning.))
“Well… um… how about ‘Harry’?” I suggested.
“Harry… I like it,” Alecai said.
((*bursts out laughing* *parents stare* First Luna, now Harry…))
(((I’m not feeling particularly creative today. Anyway, black hair, telekinesis – Harry Potter?))
((Now all he needs is a wand.))
((Is my character Mary-Sue-ish?! I thought that maybe the out of control fire thing would keep him grounded. Plus, I’m sure somebody wants to control water? I think you see what I’m hinting at.))
((Elemental… erm, can I change Alecksi’s powers? She a telekinetic, but there’s so many of them, she could have some power over water instead. That okay? ))
((Scratch that. She’ll have power over air. That okay?))
((‘S all fine… Perhaps we should have an Avatar?))
(Just kidding…))
Skye Whelan stood in the forest, talking to the ghost of a murdered child that haunted her neighbor’s house.
Now, this might seem like a rather odd situation, but to Skye, it was perfectly normal. She’d been able to see and talk to ghosts since she was very little. Today, she was trying to convince Katie–the ghost of a girl who had been murdered in 1914–to move out of the house of her neighbor and best friend, Siobhan. Katie had been overdoing it a little on the haunting, and Skye was trying to convince her to at least quit the poltergeist act, if she wasn’t ready to Move On.
“Katie, seriously, these people didn’t do anything to you! The Faolans have absolutely nothing to do with the people who murdered you, and you know it. You’re just bored, is that it?”
Katie, a misty figure shorter than Skye (although that was pretty normal) whose hair had once been dark brown but was now the same shade of gray as the rest of her, rolled her eyes. “Well, of course I’m bored! I’m never going to fulfill my purpose here. I’m sure the family of the person that murdered me died out a long time ago. And besides, what am I supposed to do to the descendant once I find them? But at the same time, I really don’t want to Move On. It’s too…different, I guess. I’ve never even seen the Other Side. It’s–”
“Shh!” Skye exclaimed suddenly. “Do you hear that?”
“Which side?” someone said. There was no answer. En sighed. “Who are you, that is.” No answer again.
“Who’s that?” asked Katie loudly. Skye ignored her, glad–not for the first time–that other people couldn’t see and hear ghosts. The two of them crept in the direction of the sound.
Lucky Katie, she doesn’t have to worry about being quiet, Skye thought ruefully.
A stick cracked.
“Oh, not again,” an odd raven-winged personage muttered. “Side?” she said, louder.
“Uhh, I haven’t chosen one yet,” said Skye, not knowing which sides Raven Girl was referring to.
“M- Me neither,” said the other girl. Her voice was familiar.
“Cassandra?” Skye gasped. Cassie went to school with her!
Glancing over at Katie, she saw a similar reaction. Skye knew instantly what was happening.
“Oh no you don’t,” she hissed out of the corner of her mouth.
“But her great-grandfather murdered me!” Katie complained.
“No!” Skye hissed.
“So, what’s your power? Although I think I already know,” said the raven girl. “I’m Winter Raven, by the way, but call me Raven. This is Leona.”
“Skye Whelan. I’m clairvoyant and I think I might be a shape-shifter.” ((Yes, I changed her power, not added one. I had a great idea regarding her and Siobhan. I have a feeling I’ll be getting a new character soon…))
Raven groaned. She was losing count of all the changelings/magical mortals she was running into today. And none of them had heard of the War, either! Perhaps her troop would have some new recruits by the end of the day………….. or perhaps not. It all depended, she supposed. ((shape shifting is very common…?)) “All right. Everybody quiet down. Or leave. If you’d like I might explain about the War to all of you ignorant bumpkins.” Maybe now she wouldn’t be the youngest in Troop 139, at the least. Maybe. She flew up to a branch so she could see all of the others. “Now, listen here. I’m a faerie. So is Leona, although she didn’t know it. Us faeries call her type changelings. The rest of you, excluding the ghost,” here she nodded politely at the area she thought the ghost might be. “Have magical talents. Why do you all have these talents, you may well ask. It’s because when my enemies, the faeries called the Fey so as to be distinguished from good faeries such as I, came to this world, the portal let in the magic of my world. That is why. You are the generation of mortals that were young enough at the time that you were able to soak in bits and pieces of that magic. The Fey want to take over this world. Some mortals have joined them, enticed by false promises of enormous rewards. Others have joined the good faeries, and are helping us to fight the Fey. Now I ask you: which side will you join? Whichever side you choose, choose what you think best. I will not try to persuade you to join my force, nor will I attempt to deny you the choice of joining the Fey. Now.” Raven concluded her speech and flew a bit aways, where she could see them without being seen. ((Fey was just spur-of-the-moment coining, if you would like something else that’s fine. Likey, no likey?))

That policy was aimed specifically at pie wars, the only wars on the blog at the time. But we don’t care for graphic violence, so we’re likely to intervene on any thread that starts getting littered with dismembered limbs or eviscerated organs.

Cassandra:
A new girl stepped into the clearing. I didn’t remember her name, though I thought I’d seen her before. She seemed to know me, too. Raven seemed annoyed by this all. She was still going on about ‘Sides’, and was now explaining about some fairy war. I listened, frowning when she told me I was magic. Right. I waited until she was done, then spoke up.
“That’s all very well and good, but I highly doubt I have any magical powers whatsoever. I mean, unless you consider the ability to fall asleep for two minutes at a time at random times during the day, and dream during that time, a magical power.” The last bit was sarcastic. I considered saying that out loud, just in case, but was distracted by the sudden realization that I kept getting suddenly cold, before warming up again just as suddenly, as if something invisible was swooping through me.

History: When he was a kid, his parents often heard him talk to himself. They thought it was normal, just a phase, but when they sent him off to kindergarten his teacher heard him say frightening things, and things he shouldn’t have known. He was sent off to psychologist after psychologist, and each one diagnosed him (not so inaccurately) with schizophrenia, but none of them was able to explain how he knew what uniform General Jackson had worn for most of the civil war, or how he knew about the civil war and General Jackson at all. One day, at age 7 1/2, he met 28 year old Gary Stu, who saw Max for what he was (he can see other people’s powers) and befriended him, but never telling Max about his own powers. Roughly a year later, at age nine, he met Walter Reyes, who was the only person besides Gary who didn’t call him crazy, and became friends. His parents rejected him, and he lives without education, on the streets.
Well. So much for a normal character. Is there some kind of brain surgery I could get that lets me write happy stories?
At least he should be fun to play.))
((Gary got a two and Max go a nine.))
MAX
When Walter lit the cigarette, the flame jumped up like it usually did. My Friends like the fire. They told me to carry matches so they can have fire when they want it.
The girl laughed. She told him to do it again. My Friends agreed. They also wanted the fire to be big. Walter made the fire into a man and a big cat. The man got a big spear and killed the cat, and then they got bigger and bigger. My Friends began to laugh.
Yes, yes! The fire is big, Max! You like it big!
The man stabbed a tree, and the woods began to burn.
Good, good! Burn, burn, we like fire, don’t we, Max?
The fire got bigger and bigger until suddenly, it disappeared. My Friends shrieked in anger.
No! Bring back the fire! Bring it back, Max! Use the matches!
I was going to, but then everybody ran away. I knew My Friends would punish me for disobeying them, but I was scared of being without Walter or Gary. I liked the girl that was with Walter, too. I followed them.
Suddenly, I wasn’t in the woods.
I was on a big boat at night, and there were loud bangs and flashes. People were screaming. I saw somebody fall down, and I ran to help them, but then there was another loud flash and I hurt and I looked down and there was a hole in my chest and blood was coming out.
I was back in the woods. I hated that one. My Friends showed that one to me when I was bad. Now I was scared. I was with the nice girl and Walter, though.
Walter got mad whenever I used the matches, so I was careful not to let him see. I was going to light one when the nice girl asked me my name. Then I got nervous and dropped the match.
“My name’s Max, miss.” I mumbled it, but she heard anyway.
She laughed. “You can call me Alecai, Max.”
I liked her laugh.
((Whoa, that’s a long post. Anyway, I forgot to mention that Max calls the voices “My Friends”.))
((Are the voices really a power? It doesn’t really matter, but are you going to make them helpful, or just let them tell him to constantly burn things?))
((The voices are part of the reason he made friends with Walter. But yes, they can be a power. They show/tell him things that are helpful, but usually for their own secret purposes.))
Ha. Ha. Gary Stu…
Name: Erasmaa
World: Faerie
Side: Evil
Age: In her 30s(human years) but no-one knows exactly how old she is
Powers: shape-shifting, stealing other people’s powers
Limits: Can only change into a cat, and can’t steal someone’s powers while in cat form (and vice versa). Stolen powers are not as strong for her as the original person.
Looks: Average height, shortish black hair, dark eyes. Wears red and black. Angular face, thin. Has an arrogant look and an very effective evil laugh that belongs in an SSSS.
Knows about Powers: Yes.
((Ada got a 15 on the MSLT. Erasmaa got a 2. I will insert oErasma into story later. Mother calls. ))
((I just figured out how I’m going to write my character. I want him to be the most normal of the characters here, and quite detached from all the faerie-ness and wars and whatnot–to confess, he was inspired by Arthur Dent (thus the name). Therefore I myself am not even going to try and understand any of this.))
Arthur had never been much of an outdoorsman. On the few camping trips he had gone on as a child he always found an abnormally high amount of poison ivy and mosquitoes around his tent, all of which seemed to have some centuries-long feud against him. Nonetheless, he pushed his way through the forest, trying not to think about the multitudes of ticks he knew were bombarding his head. The smoke seemed to have cleared some, for which he was truly grateful, as his eyes had been burning something awful. Several itchy minutes later he emerged into what had, the day before, seemed a perfect spot to lay down a blanket and have a picnic, as long as you didn’t mind being eaten alive by fire ants. But now Arthur found a ring of still-smoldering trees, stumps blackened and ashes everywhere. More annoyed than curious, he swore under his breath and silently vowed to find who started this fire. But Arthur’s valiant thoughts of tree-avenging were cut short by the sound of voices carried to him by the wind. He couldn’t quite make out what they were saying, but he heard a distinctly female laugh. “You can call me” something something. Arthur frowned. The nettlingly chipper woman who had rented him the cabin had assured him that it would be seven days of pure solitude, no one around for miles. Reaching into his jacket and pulling out his pocketknife for some pathetic amount of self-defense, he slowly began to creep towards the source of the voices.
I waved to Max to follow. I wondered why I was following this girl. She seemed like she knew what to do. But how? She said that she didn’t know where she was going. Oh well, I was in this for the ride. It didn’t matter where we were going.
“What the…”
A slightly chubby man walked into the small open area of the forest.
Alecai looked surprised, and she was surprised. She was also afraid of something. But what? The man was no threat. From what I could tell, this man was not magical, like us. I waited to see what the man would do.
((That’s your cue, Piggy! I hope that it’s okay that I put your character there. It seemed like he was heading there anyway.))
I stiffened as Mr. Campbell walked into view. There was no way he could recognize me, even though by now I’d demorphed into my normal appearance. When I’d rented him my parents’ vacation cabin, I’d made sure to morph into a woman who looked nothing like me. He might have vaguely recognized my voice, since the magic didn’t affect that, though I’d tried to mask it as best as I could.
“What- What are you kids doing here?” he asked, stopping short upon seeing us. He’d clearly expected someone much more dangerous. “Don’t you know this is private property?!”
“Is it?” Gary asked lazily, sounding and looking even more untrustworthy than usual. That wasn’t helpful.
“Yes, it is!” Arthur nearly shouted with indignation. “You can’t go around starting fires!”
I carefully avoided looking at Walter.
“A fire?” I said carefully, making my tone sound mature and mildly curious so as to avoid suspicion. Harry looked sharply at me, surprised at the change.
“We haven’t seen any fires. Maybe it was some freak lighting; it happens sometimes when there isn’t even any rain.”
((I’ve decide that Alecai will have some personality issues. She’s morphed so many times that she feels she’s many different people, and has many personalities that she uses both when morphed and demorphed.))
((Gary isn’t with you. Max is. You guys don’t know Gary.))
((*confusion*))
((Yes, there does seem to be a bit of that going around. I told you that I would like your character to be my friend. Then I made a character that I told you wasn’t going to be your friend, but I guess everybody skipped that line. Now you guys have all made posts where Gary is with you, even though I didn’t want you guys to know Gary. The person you know is Max. MAX. Yay!
All the RPGs I join become confusing in a few days.))
((Oh. Wait what? I asked you/assumed he was with us and he has already been in three posts with us. Well, whatever. In that case we’ll just ignore what I posted about him. *sigh* Confusion.))
63- ((sorry))
((URRGG. MLDM. Please have your character meet my character. Or I will go insane.))
((Do any of the good faeries want to come into my shop to tell me to go meet the other powered humans?))
((Unfortunatism. I will be gone for the week. Fishy, can Max follow you around everywhere? He won’t be a hassle. You don’t have to make him do anything. Just assume he’s there? That would be awesome.))
((Then I will assume my position as awesome PPer of Max))
(( Okay, so I think I’ll try to join the fun… the character description is long, but I think it’s worth it.
Name: Zara
Age: 67 faerie years / 29 human years
Race: Ex-Pixie / Human
Occupation: Bounty Hunter
Location: New York
Looks: About 5’3″, sturdy build, broad shoulders. She has naturally dark hair but dyes it white and keeps it short and tied back. She relies on her freezing purple eyes and sharp tongue to make up for any lack in height. Dusky skin, sharp features, and a faint scar that runs from the bottom of her right ear across her throat to her left shoulder. Double piercing in each ear. The only makeup is a bit of eye liner, mascara, and chapstick. She enjoys flashy Converse Chucks shoes but otherwise dresses nondescriptly.
Magical Ability: Memory manipulation with tracking
Details: In order to change or remove a person’s memories, she needs to be able to see them in person, if even from a distance. She can view the memories of anyone she can see; if they are out of sight, she can view their memories by first viewing someone else’s memory that they are in (think Six Degrees of Separation). Looking at a picture of the person does not work. Telepaths can sense her if she is tampering with their memories and can easily block her from their mind. If she is viewing the memories of a non-telepath, that person will see what memories she sees but cannot do anything about it (most non-telepaths have no idea what just happened to them and are nonplussed about it).
In order to “find” someone, Zara must view someone’s memory that the person is in. If the person is far away, she feels a faint pull towards them – the closer she gets, the more geographically specific the pull becomes. She cannot find dead people.
Talismans designed to protect the wearer from mental attacks will usually work against her.
A few times, Zara has brought back forgotten memories in people, but this is very difficult, takes a long time, and leaves her exhausted. She prefers to just take what she can, make the person forget she was ever there, and disappear.
History: Born Zethrana, she spent 67 years happily tormenting the entire the pixie kingdom and much of the outside faerie world with her disdain for the faerie laws, malicious pranks, rebellious attitude, and by being an overall annoyance. After one unfortunate prank involving a cliff, an invisible tripwire, flying banana cream pies and two trolls, three elves were accidentally killed and she was banished from the faerie realm, scheduled to become a changeling human. However, delighted that she would now be free from the restrictions of faerie society, Zethra gleefully escaped with her magic and memories, found an old warlock who morphed her into a human, and lept into the unsuspecting human world as the 23-year old Zara. Six years later, she now resides in New York and currently works for a gang. She enjoys the pay, as well as protection from two other gangs who want her dead. No one but her knows about her magic. Zara is on assignment and has tracked down her target to Ireland…
Upon first glance, Zara appears to be an easy-going woman with a charming smile and quick wit. However, most people quickly find out that she is also sadistic and ruthless and enjoys mocking people. Although she works for whoever pays the highest, she doesn’t really care about getting rich or getting infamous – she’s in it for the chaos, the anarchy. ))
((Right. Starting tomorrow morning, I will have no internet access for a week. So can someone please powerplay Alecai? It doesn’t matter who, you can take turns or something.))
((I guess I’ll have to take your character too…. I’m going to feel very lonely…))
((I’ll PP Alecai if you want.))
((I would LOVE that.))
((this is a new character))
Name: Yastan
World:hybrid ((oh yes that reminds me, can we have strengths/weaknesses tell me them if yes))
Side: unknown
powers: camouflage 1 illusion/day
age: 25
limits: he has nothing except these weak powers camo is for 16 minutes unless i can make it more?
looks:scales, green hair, reptile eyes
equipment: umm… clothes, gun, knife
history: was faised by chamelions started staying away from humanity.
((i got -4 on mary sue))
((Hummm…. Can I make the evil base in Ireland, so when Zara’s assignment is captured, she takes it there, as the gang is most likely evil. OK?))
(( Well, the gang Zara is doing business with is just your regular human mob, ignorant of all fairy war stuff. I think it would be advisable if Zara is tracking someone who just happens to be of interest to the “evil” camp (but she doesn’t know that), she wanders into Ireland, the “evil” camp offers her a job. OR Zara tries to capture someone but gets herself captured by the “good” camp. She’s never had experience against other magics, just ESPs.
Also, the evil fairies wouldn’t call themselves evil, would they now? I mean, they would be fighting for something they believe in and probably consider the “good” side evil! Evil is all in perspective. Unless they, like Zara, follow The Joker’s philosophy and are agents of chaos and like anarchy just in general. But they still wouldn’t be evil ))
((I think the “evil” camp offering her a job is a good idea. Mainly because it could involve me.))
(( But remember, she spent 67 years in the faerie world. And a lot of faeries hold grudges… *hint hint* Obviously, she shouldn’t be recognized as a fairy immediately, but… you know. ))
Leona:
I made a face at Cassandra’s sarcasm.
“Nice. Making fun of the person who helped us out. Really mature.”
I noticed she was shivering and sweating at the same time, while the other girl screamed “Noooooo!”
“What the heck is going on here?!?! Why are you screaming, and why are you sweating and shivering?!?!”
“Katie, no, be nice to her! Just because her great-grandfather killed you doesn’t mean she’s bad!” Skye yelled. She looked at me.
“What? I’d like to know what’s going on!” I said.
She replied, “I can see ghosts. The paranormal.”
“Oh, so that’s what clairvoyant means. Sorry, I don’t have super-intelligence,” I finally understood.
Having Katie there didn’t feel too good, since she was messing up the natural balance.
“Just do what you need to do and move on already!” I said to Katie.
“What?!?!?!?!” Cassandra and Skye said in unison.
((I’m giving Leona an attitude and few friends. Really stubborn.))
((Leona is now a 12. Wow.))
((any strength weakness stuff)) ((anyone))
YASTAN
I was walking in the forest looking for food or other material and there are voices HUMAN voices i want to scream, but i bite my lip and camouflage walk up silently VERY silently then i hear other voices not human they said, yelled “bring back the fire.” then I heard footsteps, they went away i followed them found them. but then I tripped fell and lost camouflage NO they SAW me!
((fishy you see me))
((please interact))
((emoticon, since you’re still pretty new to the blog, I won’t give you too much grief – but can you please try to write in English?))
~ ZARA ~
I grunted in distaste as a light drizzle began to fall. Again. For the fifth time today.
Rain is fine. I have no problem with that. But this constant drizzle and no sun? Bah. My hair is a mess, all frizzy from this humidity.
My boot squelched in the damp grass and I grunted again. I miss my Converses. And my jeans. Ah, welcome to Ireland, land of rain and clouds and more rain! Why couldn’t my all assignments run away to the Carribean? Hmmmm… maybe I’ll run away to the Carribean…
Jasper Morenco.
Age 39.
Caucasian male.
6’2″.
Good god, almost a foot above me. Why don’t short people ever offend the gang? Then they’d be easier to bring home. Not that I really mind. I continued reciting my assignment’s profile in my head.
Blue eyes, black hair.
Specializes in computer intelligence.
I snort. So I’m tracking a geek? When did a computer nerd ever offend the mob, the mafia, the gangs of new york? Hackers, you see, are all bravado. They set up all these fearsome firewalls and worms and stuff but really, they’re ninnys! Too afraid to get into a fist fight. Psh…
And so, I am running through the forests of Ireland, in the cold and constant drizzle. The pull is strong – he’s got to be within a mile. First, I encounter the assignment. Decide if he needs to be apprehended now, which would be unconvenient but would save time if he were to leave try to leave the country, or later, after I make an actual plan.
The pull has become gravitational. I can’t help but run faster, being almost forced towards this object, this Sun… no, not a Sun. A black hole, a vortex that sucks me closer and closer. I can hear his heartbeat in my head, the steady thud blocking out every other thought. Closer, I need to be closer. This man is the center of everything I know. I must get to him.
This is the part I don’t like, in hindsight. The obsessive quality that comes upon me the closer I get to a tracked being. It’s an emptying of the mind, really. I don’t think, don’t feel – just instincts. Instincts that tell me to get nearer. I rather enjoy finding someone because then I can stop tracking them and return to my normal state of mind.
Hmmm… I wonder if the gang will let me play with my food… he is just a computer nerd after all, no real harm done…
I run through the forests of Ireland.
(( p.s.: Sorry to the computer nerds. I love you guys! ))
Kiya:
The sun was setting and it was nearly time to close for the night. Car horns could be heard outside as people were on their way home from work. Business had been slow, and the vintage globe by the counter seemed to be gathering dust. I was debating whether to clean it when the bell that hung over the front door rang.
“Hello. We’re just about to close, but if you want to come back tomorrow-” I began, simultaneously reaching out to feel their emotions.
Duty.
Worry.
Unfamiliarity with New York.
“I’m not here to buy anything, Meridi. This concerns the Realm.”
The Realm… I glanced at the large mirror across the way. It was enchanted to see through glamour…
((Anybody on the good side who knows about the Faerie world can be this person, I’m not picky.))
((Little bit of PPing here for AvalonGirl.))
Aillissa looked around. They seemed relaxed, not tensed. “Clear,” she breathed.
Umbra slid through the shadows to join her at the barrier of the camp. “You try and go to the head tent, see if there’s any valuable information being discussed,” she muttered. “I’ll go to the weapons tent.”
“Agreed.”
ERASMAA:
Erasmaa watched Samuel and the soldier with interest. She hadn’t ever met someone else who could steal powers, and she wondered what would happen if she tried to steal his powers. Would stealing his make a power I stole from someone else stronger? Or not? Does that even make sense? Not that I actually want to have to steal his powers. Although it might happen. I really don’t trust that guy. He just looks like a threat. Causing anarchy and mayhem is all very well, but we should do it to the other side. Alissa, who she didn’t completely trust either, was leaving the camp. Erasmaa decided to follow her.
((Why is it that whenever I’m on this thread someone else suddenly wants the computer? At least I managed to write one of my characters in. *sighs*))
((If you weren’t pointedly looking for Aillissa, you couldn’t see her. She cloaked herself when she neared sight of the boundaries.))
((the point is he doesn’t speak English (or think it) very well, also my first language is Spanish. 2. I am not new to the blog just change my name.
((We understand that, but I think I-Man is trying to say to use a little bit more grammar. Simple things such as Capitilazation and Periods make a sentence look very fancy. We’re not trying to be mean; we’re just telling you that in MuseBlog, we are always supposed to use proper grammar.
Yes, you are new to the blog. I’m still new to the blog and I was here 3 months earlier than you.))
((sorry))
((I’m putting in a character on the good side. I’m going to have her interact with the other group.))
Name: Allison Gevlia
Personality: No feelings. At all. Speaks in a monotone
Physical description: Italian, very thin.
Side: Good
Power: Postcognition. Knows the exact details of an event, after it has happened, and she at least witnessed part of it.
History: Unknown, uncared about
I saw some flames in the forest. I walked over, and saw a few people standing there, looking confused and talking. One of them saw me.
“Hi! What’s your name? I’m Cassandra. Did you see what happened?” they said
“My name is Allison Gevaia. I saw what happened. Walter let his fire power take over him, and cause most of the forest to burn down. Arthur then realized, and fled the cabin he was staying in.”
They looked at me as if I was insane.
((Cassandra is in Ireland, not with the fire group. We’re in two different places, with no knowledge of each other.))
Leona:
“What are you talking about? Who is Walter? The forest burned down? No wonder I don’t feel great!” I said, “By the way, I’m Leona.”
((I’m changing to first-person format now.))
Raven:
Ack. Another person. And it’s getting dark. ((can there be some thing about the forests belong to the good faeries in the day but in the night it’s the bad guy’s place? if not then never mind the stuff about that)) I fly back down. “What’s up, guys? Have you made your decisions yet? Anyhow we’d better get out of here, it’ll be nighttime soon. And then if we’re still here we’ll be rightful prey of the Fey. ((rhyme unintended, I swear))” I tell them. Then I look at the newcomer. “Side? I’m Winter Raven, and I’m on the good side.” the newcomer looks at me blankly. “Never mind.” I look at the others. “C’mon, even if you haven’t decided yet, we need to get out of here. Do you know anywhere I could stay for the night? I won’t be able to get back to my base before nightfall tonight.”, I say, and set off. If they don’t want to follow me, at least I won’t be in enemy hands.
Leona:
“Well, you could stay at my house, since my parents are off at a save-the-earth-from-pollution-or-whatever conference in Iceland for awhile ((hint hint)), so no one can bother you. But, you’re going in the opposite direction, so I guess you won’t be coming. What a pity.” I smirked. ((Thinking about giving her a little brother. Maybe he could be special/magical, too.))
Raven made a face and came back towards us.
“What happened to ‘Don’t make fun of the person who helped us!’? Huh?” Cassandra muttered.
“I heard that!”
((In the meantime, Zara is following her assignment straight towards Samuel… yes? And how many characters do you have???))
((I have 2. One I abandoned, because I couldn’t figure out how to write him. Another I accidentally posted twice, just under different names.))
((Did you abandon Samuel? I can’t continue until I know where Zara’s assingment is gonna end up. And if Samuel’s out of the picture then I’ll think of something different.))
((No, I abandoned Jaques (Or what ever his name was) I revised him as Samuel, and didn’t realize that I had posted twice.))
((I’m going to be at camp for the next five days or so, so can someone p*ease make sure my character does not disappear? (Description in post 12) Thanks.))
UMBRA:
“Agreed,” Aillissa (that name’s gonna drive me crazy) hissed. She than slid into the shadows. I could still see her-I mean, I was younger, but still-I wanted to make sure nobody spotted her! There was a girl there, but she wasn’t looking for Aillissa-safe.
Satisfied, I melted into the shadows and ‘swam’ towards the weapon net, making sure that I would leap between shadows fast. Anyway, it was almost night-unless I was inside a building when the moon came up, I’d be invisible! It would all work to plan.
((1. Zinc, where exactly are we?
2. Umbra has a phobia of large bugs and is afraid of close-ranged hand-to-hand fighting.
3. By the way, I made a reference sheet for Umbra and her awesome powers, although it’s all in pen. I’ll see if I can send it in.))
((Ok, Umbra is a 22 on the MSLT. Espa’s going to be Mary Sue, and I know that, but she’s going to become a villain! So on Espa, I don’t care.))
((1. We’re at the faerie camp. If you’ll read my first RP on this thread, you’ll get the details.
2. Likes bows and arrows/spears? Good to know.
3. You don’t have to write Aillissa. She can tolerate being called Ai, but never Lissa or Liss.))
Walter:
I heard something. I turned around quickly.
“What is it?” asked Max.
“Just tell Alecai to wait up. I’ll be right back.”
“Alright…”
Follow him, Max… This could be important…
I heard Max utter something to himself, and walk to Alecai. I flicked open my lighter. I brightened the fire so that I could see.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are!”
I heard another rustling. It sounded like footsteps, and they were moving quickly. I threw a fireball in that direction. It manifested what seemed to be an open space.
“GET IT OFF!” A voice said. It sounded human.
I distinguished the fire immediately, and then I ran over to the spot where the flame was. A grabbed a space of air that felt like an arm.
“What are you!?” I exclaimed.
Suddenly, a man appeared where nothing was before.
“I’m like you, special.”
“Ugh, not another one… I’ve had enough of this crap today.”
“So why don’t you let me go and forget about what you just saw. Suddenly, the man disappeared.
“Nah, I like you,” I lit a cigarette,”And if you try to run away, I’ll turn you into a bed of coals, okay?” I said cheerfully. The man reappeared. He looked horrified. Out of the cigarette I blew a ring of fire instead the expected ring of smoke. He jumped back.
“Let’s go!”
I started walking back to where I had left the others. The man started to look around, as if he were going to try escaping again. He didn’t realize that I looked behind me. I turned my head forward again, and out of the cigarette blew a fire dragon that flew up to the man. The man didn’t notice the dragon until he felt the heat. He shouted.
Okay, I thought this guy had gotten the picture now, so I let the dragon extinguish. It didn’t. Out of it’s nose blew black smoke. The man was backing away, slowly. I saw that the fire was still coming out of the cigarette. I threw the stub of tobacco on the ground and stomped, and commanded it to go out. The dragon puffed from existence, leaving a pile of ash. The man’s eyebrows were completely gone.
I was afraid. Afraid of myself. I had to stop taking on such big flames. The man just stood there. I decided not to let the man know that I was just as scared as he was.
“That’ll teach you a lesson. When those eyebrow grow back, maybe I’ll give you a little more freedom, but for now, follow close.”
I walked on as if everything went as planned. The man ran up close this time.
I lit another cigarette and practiced my power by blowing small rings out of the tip.
((Hwey guys! I’m posting from Seattle, and don’t have much to say, but Pseudonym (who has barely any internet at all) wants me to post the profile for her character:
Name: Cobalt Sniggle
Human. Male.
Age: 72
Looks: Gray hair, blue eyes, stooped over
Personality: Frequently oblivious. Easily manipulated.
Powers/skills: Unknowingly slightly telepathic. (Unknowingly because he has very few thoughts to transmit.) Good at fencing.
She hasn’t decided the history, she told me to make it up, but I’m afraid to, with my track record. So… /Copy-Paste-Edit from Sci-Fi/))
Alecai:
Mr. Campbell looked disgruntled. He looked at us strangely and said, “Maybe, but that still doesn’t explain the fact that you kids are on private property!”
“You’re right, sir,” Harry said, trying to find something he could get a minor grip on. “Sorry for the intrusion – we’ll leave soon and never come back, deal?”
He started walking back the way he came, saying, “Fine. But you’d better not come back!” I smiled and said to Harry, “Thanks. I was worried about how I was going to get out of that one.”
“What do you mean?” he said, cocking his head curiously.
“Oh… um, nothing,” I replied. Max walked up and said, “Walter said to wait up.”
“Why?”
“I dunno,” he said, shrugging.
“Well, he’ll probably be back in a moment or two! Where do you guys want to go now?” I exclaimed, back in a cheerful state again.
((I think his name is Max, now.))
((Yes, that’s what I said.))
((But I don’t think there is a Harry anymore, is there? *is so confused* I thought that was just an attempt of naming Walter’s friend. I don’t know, you tell me. ))
((Harry is my character’s current nickname. Sorry for the confusion))
93.1-((Well, her control of shadows helps her fight-she can trap enemies or trick them into injuring themselves. She is also very good with throwing knives, she can produce poison from her body-only a little, though, and the power varies, and she doesn’t know that she can do it right now-and I’m putting Espa in the story now. She was, right now, paid by a human who knew all about the war to attack the weapons of both camps. But she decided to do the evil camp first because she currently has morals. Which she will lose and become a villain sometime during the rpg-thread 2 or 3. She was kidnapped and trained by the ‘bad’ side of the faeries when she was only 80 (she looked eight), and escaped when she was 110 (looking 11, ok?) And that’s the half of it.))
ESPA:
I hid under the rooftop of one of the buildings in the ‘evil’ side’s camp. This job would pay well…too bad I didn’t have the masking with me, but this was too risky! I landed on the ground without a sound.
Then my ears and body detected air currents moving behind me! I sighed, leaped backwards over my unknown attacker’s knife, and blasted rapid-fire what I called silentNight-small but fast energy blasts that camouflaged. I could have made sure to wipe them out, but that’d attract too much attention and I’d get caught! My invisipatch was wearing off already, that’s how they had spotted me. I thought it was finished, the person knocked out so I could complete my task-they let out a small cry of pain, but then the moon was covered by a cloud and I couldn’t see…
Umbra:
I let out a small gasp. But this would work, I knew it! In the dark, I could see. Her invisi-thingy was wearing off, and she was visible to me-I leaped into the air, holding my knife. “Two can play at this game,” I whispered into her ear, and knocked her out with the hear of the knife. With that finished, I gracefully fell backwards and disappeared into the shadow…
((What do I do? My characters are going to start over. Whatever I posted never happened, because that’s not working out. I have no clue how to get into the story and I have a vague feeling I’m being ignored. Can someone get me in? Please?))
((Where am I and what am I doing? *confuzzledness*))
((Well, I’m working with Zinc (ZINC!), Espa’s knocked out and going to be discovered and brainwashed into becoming an evil awesome person.
You guys…eh, I have no clue where you are! Sorry…))
Umbra:
I slid through the shadow to next of the weapon building. As I melted into the shadow underneath the door and came out on the other side, the lights came on, and I was surrounded! “PUT YOUR HANDS UP!” someone said loudly. I sighed, making sure to keep my head down, and concentrated…on poison. Moments later, several drops of poison sprung from my fingers, and every one hit its’ target. The soldiers dropped to the floor, and I studied everything new in the tent…
((Thank you for PPing, I-Man! And thanks for offering, Fishy!))
((Hmm, forget anything I said about Alecai’s personality issues. I’ve decided against those, and I haven’t really mentioned them in an action post. Instead of that, I’m making morphing an addiction for her.))
“Well, he’ll probably be back in a moment or two! Where do you guys want to go now?†I exclaimed, back in a cheerful state again.
“Well, you’re leading,” Harry said.
“So I am! I know, we can go to town and I’ll take you to someone who can explain the war better than I.”
((KaiYves, we’re going to visit Kiya, ok? I’ll make it so that the person you’re talking to is Alecai.))
Just then, Walter came into view, followed by a curious, lizard-like creature. I noted the singed eyebrows and raised my own.
“Been playing with fire, again?”
“Maybe I have. What’s it to you?” Walter retorted.
“If you lose control again… There will be trouble.” I glanced at the cigarette in his mouth. “And would you stop smoking already?!!”
I grabbed the cigarette and extinguished it beneath the heel of my sneaker. I held out my hand for the rest of the pack.
“No way.” Walter said stubbornly. “I bought them, I’m keeping them.”
I rolled my eyes, but didn’t press the matter.
“So who are you?” I asked of the lizard-man.
“My name is Yastan,” he said.
“I’m Alecai. The boy who nearly set you on fire is Walter. That’s Max and Harry. You can come with us; we’re going to the city, though.”
With a glance at Walter, Yastan followed me as I led the group out of the forest.
* * * * *
Walking down a quiet street, no-one looked twice at our unusual group. Such was New York.
We came before an old antique shop.
“This is where we’re going?” Harry asked incredulously.
“Looks like a shack.” Walter commented.
Even Max looked surprised.
I ignored them, and proceeded to morph. My hair straightened, and turned an violent shade of purple. I changed my eyes to a vivid yellow, and my skin turned ebony black. I grew taller, to an even 6 feet in height.
I turned to the bemused group, and grinned with pointed teeth.
“Let’s go in.”
I pushed open the door, and an old-fashioned bell tinkled.
“Hello. We’re just about to close, but if you want to come back tomorrow-â€
“I’m not here to buy anything, Meridi. This concerns the Realm.†I replied.
I saw her eyes flick to the mirror propped against the wall. Following her gaze, I saw my usual appearance reflected at me. It was an eerie effect.
Kiya was looking at me with vague amusement.
I made myself smile, saying, “Just one of my hobbies.”
“More like an addiction.” she said, reading my emotions, to my great annoyance.
“Yes, well, I’m not here to discuss my issues.” I said testily, trying to ignore the smug look on Walter’s face; he took out a cigarette.
“Then why are you keeping me from going home?” She said, a note of curiosity in her voice.
I gestured to the group behind me. “I need you to explain to them about the War. They didn’t know about their powers until today.”
((Whoa. Sorry for the long post!))
((It’s not that long.))
((It’s longer than what I usually write, anyway.))
((Name: Arcana (arc-ah-nuh) Rune
Race: Faerie
Side: Evil
Knows about powers: Yes
Powers: Can create sounds and illusions/images. Also has extraordinary hearing and sight.
Other: Is particularly good at making people believe her. She isn’t sure whether this is a power, or not, but she doesn’t question convenience.
Looks: Long, pure black hair. Cold black eyes, pale skin. Tall.
Personality: Knows full well that her chosen side is evil. That’s why she chose it. Ruthless, somewhat sadistic,
((Wondering: Can faeries fly in this world? As in, there have been a couple with wings, but I didn’t know if that was the norm.))
Name: Solara Rune
Race: Faerie
Side: She’d be good if she supported violence. As it is, she tries to separate herself from the war.
Knows about powers: Yes
Powers: Can talk to plants and animals, and absorb water, which she can then release in any form. Chiefly uses it to water her plants. Normally has large amounts of water absorbed, ‘just in case’
Personality: Excessively kind, happy. Always sees the bright side of things.
Looks: Brown hair with gold highlights. Warm brown eyes, slender and shortish.
History: Arcana’s sister. The pair were inseparable for many years, before Solara got angry at her for continuing to eat meat and plants without the plant’s permission. They haven’t talked since, and Solara has no idea where her sister is, or has become.
I’ll RP them later.))
“They didn’t?” I asked, looking over the group. “Well, then, let’s go into the back room, it’s a bit safer there.” I headed to the back room, behind a Japanese folding screen, and gestured for them to follow.
I turned on the lightbulb that hung over the various boxes and other objects in storage. “There’s some folding chairs over there if you want to sit down.”
When everyone was seated, I began.
“I suppose you’re all familiar with the idea of multiple realities and dimensions in fiction? Or, more importantly, in quantum physics?”
They nodded.
“There is another reality very close to our own. So close that they sometimes touch and the inhabitants can cross over. People in our world have given this place many different names- Faerieland, the Otherworld, Avalon, the Realm.”
“You’re joking, aren’t you?” A blond boy asked. I could feel doubt within him, in spite of what he had seen earlier today.
“I could not be more serious. The Realm is the home of the creatures of myth that are only stories here in our world. The most powerful of these are the Faeries. Yes, Faeries, but not the ones you read about in books. Real Faeries are like humans, and they can be both kind and cruel. And like humans, they fight wars, one of which is raging right now.”
“Are… are WE Faeries? I mean, I can set things on fire and they-” The boy asked.
“No, but that brings up the most important point. In the recent past, our reality and the Realm have been growing closer together than they ever have been since ancient times. The magic that infuses the Realm has begun to seep into our world, and that is why humans like us have powers.”
“You mean, you have powers?”
“Yes, I have the power of empathy. That means I can sense the emotions of others mentally.” I said, wondering if they’d be too young to understand if I compared it to what Counselor Troi from Star Trek did. They probably were, so I continued.
“And since the two warring groups of Faeries are becoming aware of this merging of worlds, they are also bringing their war to our own world. The group known as the Fey seek to control people like us to strengthen their side in the war. They are devious and cruel and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals.”
((Okay, I’m going to check up here every day, but I won’t post until I know what to do. Aarronn and Alecksi will take a nap. Bye!))
‘Devious and cruel, huh?’ I thought to myself, ‘That’s a bit of a harsh generalization.’
Kiya was watching me. I supposed it was showing that I wasn’t telling the whole truth to everyone.
The rest of the group seemed to be trying to come to terms with what they’d just learned.
“Can you transfer magic to another person? I mean, purposely give them powers?” I asked.
“Yes, though it’s very difficult, not to mention painful, and it weakens your own powers for a time. There have been some recent cases of the Fey resorting to that practice.” Kiya said.
“They must be desperate,” commented Harry thoughtfully.
“From what I’ve seen though, they’ve got quite a lot of forces,” I said.
“And how much, exactly, have you seen?” Kiya interjected.
I looked up at the ceiling.
“Enough to make me cautious about strictly choosing sides.”
“So you’re with whoever is winning,” she said with disdain.
“Not at all. I’m against whoever tries to kill me first.” I smiled. It was not a happy smile.
“But enough of that. The matter still lies which side the rest of you will be on.”
((Ok, forget the bit I posted and I’ll ask for someone to put Espa in. She’s…read the profile I posted for her, she hasn’t chosen a side! Please, can smoeone enter Espa?))
Walter and Max thought for a moment, then said that Fey didn’t “sound like guys to be friends with”. I still wasn’t sure what side I was going to be on – until I knew my past, I couldn’t make a sure choice. I stood up and said, “I think I need some time alone.”
I walked through the folding screen, ignoring Alecai as she called my name. Walking out of the shop, I wandered through New York before stumbling upon Central Park.
((Okay, AvalonGirl, I’m going to try to write you in as a double agent. If you don’t like it, we’ll figure something else out. Also, this is a way for me to write in Carmen. ))
Carmen stared at the computer screen, searching for another recruit to sabotage some humans. Faerie this time, she thought. That last human was disastrous. With a few expert keystrokes, she smoothly hacked into the database that would have what she needed.
Espa, she read. Age: 150. Powers: can predict her opponents’ movements by reading the air currents. She can also produce energy from any point of her body, usually produced in rays and spheres, but she needs to train it more…as in, her energy powers are totally weak! She is also very agile and is somewhat psychic.
There was also a phone number listed. Carmen pulled out her cell phone.
“Hello?” said a voice from the other end, almost immediately.
“Espa? This is Carmen, from camp 327. I need you to do a job for me.”
A few minutes later, Espa was–at least Carmen hoped she was–well on her way to a certain forest in Ireland. That Raven girl had found a changeling, and Carmen wanted to get rid of both of them as quickly as possible.
((You decide– you can go through with the mission or actually befriend us.))
I turn around. “Thanks, Leona! That’d be great. But if you do want to join the war, what are you going to tell your parents?”, I ask. She shrugs. “No idea.” “So which way is your home? We NEED to get OUT of this place!”, I say frantically.
“Wait, whoawhoawhoa. I hadn’t thought about that. Can I run home real fast and tell my parents that I’m going on a camping trip with friends or something?” Cassandra asked.
((That’s rather Power Playing. Unless you meant to write Skye? I wouldn’t mind, but I resent having someone take control of my character, in order to do something other then guide their post in the right direction.))
((Whoops, yes, I did mean to write Skye. I have another character named Cassandra, and I was just on that RPG, so I got mixed up. ))
((Oh. That’s fine.))
“Yeah, sure. But whatever you do, do not come back into the woods after it is completely dark.”, I replied. Skye dashed off. “WAIT!” I yelled as an afterthought. “Where should we all meet up? Do you know where Leona’s house is?”
“Um. No. Should I? I know where Cassandra’s house is, though. Are you going home, Cassie?”
((*is going to come back into the woods after it is completely dark*))
((*has very important plan involving other character*))
((I have a rather important plan too. I wonder if they go with each other, at all?
And I just went home, at the bottom of the thread. I could re-write that post though…))
Leona:
“I’ll tell my little brother that I’m ‘having friends over’. He shouldn’t mind, since he always has some weird characters visiting.”
I jumped over the fence of our backyard and raced inside. I looked in Errod’s room, but he wasn’t there. I walked towards the kitchen, peeked, and grabbed a nectarine. To my amazement, Rod was waiting for me in the living room, arms crossed and face grim.
“So. You know now.”
((Sorry I’ve been gone awhile, getting ready for school on Monday. Here’s Errod’s (AIR-rod) profile:
Name: Errod (trying to come up with a last name for them.)
Nickname: Rod
Race: Human with magical abilities
Knows about powers: his and Leona’s
Side: Fey
Powers: Can know someone’s powers by touching them, a little bit of super strength (can pick up up to 300 lb.), which can come in handy.
History: Ever since he was little, he has tried to protect Leona from knowing who she is, so would never be forced to pick sides, like he eventually had to. The Fey are paying him through protection for Leona, not being allowed to recruit her, and keeping their parents away often. He does little jobs here and there. His weakness is his awful temper, which doesn’t go well with Leona’s stubbornness.))
I pulled out my special cigar. This was great! I was going to be some kind of hero! In a war! I would be worshiped and glorified like a god! I smiled and lit up. But which side to choose?
“There’s no smoking in here.” Said the woman who gave us the speech.
“Ah, give me a break. There’s a war, dont’cha know?” I smirked. She rolled her eyes, and went back to talk to the morphing chick. I put my feet up on the chair in front of me, which was Max’s, and my hands behind my head.
“So Maxi, which side you choosin’?” I puffed in some smoke and waited for an answer. Max seemed to be in a daze.
“Yo, earth to Max! Don’t you tell me you listenin’ to those voices again! Wha’did I tell you ’bout that?” He shook his head and stood up. As he turned to me I saw the distressed look on his face.
“Walt, they want me… They want me to… I can see it! Everything… burning…. you….” Max fainted. I went to his side and looked at him. He still didn’t look so hot. I shook him.
“Come on Maxi, wake up. Don’t worry, everything’ll be fine,” I assured. What had he said? Fire? Burning? Sounded a whole lot like something I would do… Well, that wasn’t important right then.
“Ugh…. Walter?” Max said as he woke up.
“Yeah, bud?” He smiled.
“Let’s kick some Fey ass,” I smiled. He was going to be fine.
“You got it,” I said. Whatever he wanted to do was fine with me. Max had some problems, but he had his heart in the right place; I could always know that he would always do the right thing if push came to shove.
He fell back asleep. Everyone was staring.
“Looks like we got some new recruits!” said the lady, happily. I guess she was against the Fey too. All of this stuff was just plain strange. The fact that I was about to fight in a fairy war was weird enough, but then I had to meet all of these strange people with strange powers.
All I knew was that my power was the coolest so far. I just hoped that there weren’t any mind-readers in the room.
((How’d you know I was going to chew you out for smoking?))
“Do you need to go tell your parents where you’ll be?” Raven asked.
“No. My parents are out of town, and my brother’s looking after me. He won’t care. I probably should tell him though. I’ll be right back. And I know where Leona’s house is, so don’t worry.”
I dashed back to my house. My brother was in his room, on the computer. Very predictable.
“Hey”
He didn’t even turn. “What is it, Cassie.”
“Cassandra. I’m probably not going to be back much the next few days, but I’ll be fine, so don’t worry about me. I’ll be back before Mom gets here.”
“Fine by me, Cassie.”
“Cassandra. Thanks.”
I turned and ran back out.
((Hey SilverLeopard? Maybe your characters could be in NY, and could join up with us? It’s a bit hard to reach them in Boston…))
((Thank you ever so much!))
ESPA:
I dashed through the treetops in the woods in a suit-because my tail and ears (and also hair) were a light purple, blending in was not my specialty! A few minutes later, I finally landed on a branch above the clearing that Raven and the rest were in. “That’s the one-well, two,” I muttered quietly to myself, stripping the camo suit from my body to reveal the black sneak suit underneath.
Then, someone underneath said to the other “Someone’s up there,” and by their tone, I knew it wasn’t a good thing…
I’d been detected.
Oh, cake.
((I’d like to join this, but I can’t find a place to insert my character.))
((There are several groups around, it really depends on which side you are on/whether or not you know about the War/what race you are.))
((*waves hands exitedly* Be evil! Be one of Samuel’s cohorts! (on the evil side)))
Alecksaandra~
I stepped off the train, Aarronn close behind me. I looked around Grand Central Station, wondering how in the world Aarronn had convinced Dad to let us go on our own to stay with Uncle Lane for a week in the city. We made our way out of the station, and walked along the streets neither of us speaking, just enjoying ourselves. Suddenly, I heard something strange, and, turning, altered a breeze to bring the noise closer. It was a strange growl, and it came from a mangy dog that slid out onto the street. It looked like your average dog, but if you looked closer, you could see that its eyes were violet.
Aarronn~ I turned to see my sister summon a gust of wind. You could tell she was, because she tensed, and narrowed her eyes. The air whipped by us, and hit a dog. I turned, confused. What was she thinking? Then, it growled. It was a strange sound, like it was a person, trying to imitate a dog. I caught a glimpse of its purple eyes, and turned to run, just in time to see it running after us. Then, it stopped, and the violet faded out of its eyes and it barked and barked and barked. Even though we knew there wasn’t danger, we kept running, and slid into the first shop we found, an antique shop, hoping not to attract too much attention.
((Purple. Eyed. Dog. Huh? This sounds like something that might affect the plot in some way sooner or later. *lopsided grin*))
((I was thinking the dog was sent by someone to track my characters. Could be anyone, even a character that isn’t someone’s. (I have some ideas) It was under a temporary spell of some kind.))
Just then, I heard the bell ring. Fear flashed through the minds of all the new empowered, thinking of the Fey I had just mentioned.
“Stay here, I’m going to see who it is. There’s a door over there that leads to where I get my deliveries. If I send you the feeling of alarm, run out as fast as you can. Do you understand?”
They nodded.
I stepped out from behind the screen to see two panting children who looked like a brother and sister.
“Hello, we’re just about to close, but we’ll be open again tomorrow…”
I sensed their feelings. They seemed afraid.
I peeked around the corner of the screen, curious. I’d demorphed, but I didn’t mind.
“Sorry, can we just stay here for a bit?” One of the siblings asked- the boy.
“We’ve had a bit of a scare,” the girl continued.
They were magic-users. The mirror that was propped against the wall – the one made to see through glamour – was showing a faint silver haze around the twins.
Walter and Max had joined me, and apparently decided the twins weren’t dangerous.
They stepped out into full view, and I had no choice but to follow.
“Which side are you on?” Walter asked haughtily.
Kiya shot him an angry glance, but he ignored her.
“The good side,” came the immediate answer from both of the twins.
“Good,” Walter approved. “Or else me and Max would have to beat you to a pulp.”
“Way to be crude about it,” I muttered, then spoke up. “What are your names? I’m Alecai.”
“Alecksaandra.” “Aarronn.” Came the answers.
“Look at that- we match!” I exclaimed, pleased.
Max and Walter introduced themselves.
Kiya did too, if a bit reluctantly.
“We’re actually missing a person,” I admitted. “Let’s go find him, shall we?”
((Kai, is Kiya coming with us to wherever we’re going next?))
((Did you just make up the twins? And why do you “match?”))
((No, they’re SilverLepoard’s. They have similar names, by coincidence, I suppose.
((They were named that because they’re twins. The names are a bit weird because their mother was Fey. Often, they’ll just call themselves Alexa and Aaron, so people don’t ask about it.))
((Oops. I am going to strangle my brother.))
((Yeah, I noticed that a little while ago.))
((SFTDP
But we need a better name for the good side than ‘The Good Side’. Just saying.))
((true. Because the bad guys, at least the faeries, are called the Fey.))
((Exactly. How ’bout we call the good side the Sidhe? (pronounced ‘Shee’) It’s what the Irish call[ed?] the fairies.))
((I’m afraid that as soon as I saw that I thought of the Sith Lords from Star Wars. If we do that I’ll be constantly cracking up. How about…..*gives up* I can’t think of anything at the moment))
You’re going to let Star Wars get in the way of fairy lore?
((Shame, fireandhemlock. Shame…))
((*is back from camp* In my original character description, I said Jamie (my character) doesn’t know about her power (see post #12). I’m changing that–she does know about her power, and can use it (sort of) but she doesn’t know about the Faerie War.))
I slunk along the street in the form of an alley cat. I noticed that the door of an old antiques shop was open. That was odd–I’d been here before, and the shop was usually closing now. Curious, I slipped in.
can I join?

((121-123- Welcome! You’re new, right?
Anyway, just for future reference, try not to triple- (or double-) post. Thanks!
And I’m guessing you like Terry Pratchett? ))
((Terry Pratchett was the first thing I thought of when I saw that.))
((I’m lucky that the Terry Pratchett character en used was from the one book I’ve read of his… I need to read more!))
121-123- That’s my favorite character in the book, simply for his name (which I saw in the Recent Comments bar, and decided to check out). Anyway, welcome aboard!
Thanks.
((Thanks I really like the name to also, when he gets the “muse”))
((117- Yes, I think so.))
((I am making a new character:
Name: Fiona
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Family: Twins with Harry (I’ve decided not to reveal his real name until a certain point). Not because they look alike (far from it), but because they were born at the same time.
Power: Teleportation to a separate world (not the Realm or Earth, but a third world), along with the power to teleport one other person (not forever, just at the moment) into the separate world.
Physical Appearance: Dark (but not too dark) blue hair, slightly pale skin, ordinary height for her age
History: Knows Harry is her brother, as well as his real name, but hasn’t revealed it to anyone yet. Spends an unhealthy amount of time in her third world, resulting in her blue hair and pale skin. Was on the good side of the War, but is now an agent of Fey. Her current mission is to try and convert Harry to her side.
Limits on her power: She can only transport into her third world from the Fey base, and she can only transport out of it into the Fey base.))
HARRY
I have no idea what happened next. One moment, I was sitting on a bench near the lake ((Is there more than one?)) in Central Park; the next, I was standing in what appeared to be empty space. There were hundreds of stars all around, as well as a red nebula behind me.
I looked around, wondering where I was, when I heard a chuckle behind me. I turned around and saw a strange girl standing there. She had blue hair and slightly pale skin, and – strangely enough – had clothes very identical to my own.
“Who are you?” I said, then looked around and added, “Where are we?”
“My name is not important, nor is my side in the War,” she said, waving her hand like there were flies in the air. “As for where we are – it’s my own little world. Do you like it?”
I said nothing, and she continued, “I don’t live here, of course – I just come here to watch the stars when I want some time alone. Or time with my cat.”
Almost as if by magic (well, it probably was magic), a cat with fluffy, pure white snow walked out from behind the girl’s legs. She picked it up and held it, saying with a smile, “Cute, isn’t she?”
“I don’t really like cats,” I said, frowning and looking at the cat. There was something that was off about it, but I couldn’t place it. The girl shrugged and scratched its head, and it purred happily.
“Anyways, I have an offer to make of you,” she continued. “What if I could tell you… who you are, and more about your past?”
I was shocked. Did she really know? If she was telling the truth, then I could learn what had happened in my life. I said, “That’s a lot to offer out of the goodness of your heart. You don’t want anything in return?”
“Well… maybe your allegiance to my side in the war.”
I thought for a minute or two, and probably would have thought longer had she not said, “Look, it’s clear that you need some time to think about this, so why don’t you take this as collateral for my offer?”
She threw me something, and I caught it and looked at it. It was a glowing black gem, and it seemed almost… alive. “What is it?” I said. But she was already gone.
((WOW, that was a long post. Anyways, gottago))
((SFTDP
Umm… major fail… about halfway through, it should be “pure white fur” instead of “pure white snow”. Sorry about that ))
((And… another fail. In the last part, the gem should be white instead of black, since there are apparently no black _____))
Can i join? Here is my character, tell me if i did anything wrong
Human

power: telekenisis
age: 75
personality: old guy that will whack you with a floating cane
((Hey a question, what time period is this?))
((Uh, well, I don’t know if we have specified any time period. I don’t think so though. Are you a faerie or a human, and are you on the Fey’s side or the Sidhes (?)))
((I think it’s modern-day or somewhere around there. We could set it in the 80s or 90s just for fun, but I really don’t think it’s been specified.))
((That would be interesting…
But yeah, vaguely somewhere between 1980 and 2010.))
((131 – You should probably post a little bit more about him – his history, his physical description, some more about his personality. Oh, and if he gets more than a 30 on the Mary Sue Litmus Test, you should probably change him a little bit so he’s not so Mary-Sue-ish.))
Skye raced for home, noticing as she ran that she was morphing again. She seemed to always become a wolf when she needed to run fast. It was kind of funny, because her last name, Whelan, meant “wolf.” Was it a coincidence? For that matter, was it a coincidence that her neighbor and best friend, Siobhan, also had a last name that meant “wolf”?
She slowed to a walk outside her house, barely noticing the transformation back into a human. Unfortunately, when she transformed, she usually had a few…. leftovers from the wolf form for at least five minutes afterward, which was rather inconvenient. She didn’t particularly want her parents to see her with gray hair, wolf ears, golden eyes and paws, although personally she thought it was pretty cool. The cat transformation was even cooler-looking, although she rarely used her cat form–it was only for stealth missions.
She could hear her parents arguing inside the house. Although she couldn’t make out the words, she knew they wouldn’t take kindly to her barging in on them. Time for a stealth mission. There were always stray cats around the Whelan home–Skye seemed to attract cats, perhaps a side effect of her being able to shape-shift into one.
Skye started to tiptoe across the yard, putting her arms down like paws. The grey wolf paws melted into grey cat paws, and she suddenly felt smaller. Good, it had worked quickly this time. She squeezed her way through the living room window and padded up the stairs, changing back when she got to her parents’ room.
Mom and Dad– she wrote.
I would have asked you this in person, but you were arguing when I got back, so I figured I’d just leave a note. Siobhan has invited me to go camping in the woods, nearby-ish, for a few days. I’m not sure exactly when I’ll be back, but I should be able to stop in at home every once in a while if I need anything.
-Skye
She changed back into a cat and sneaked down the side of the house, then changed into a wolf again to get to… um… somewhere. She was sure she’d walked by Leona’s house before, but she didn’t know where it was… oh! Siobhan would probably know! Without thinking, she changed into a human and knocked on her neighbors’ door.
There was no answer.
“Where on earth could they be?” she muttered. Then she remembered–it was the full moon. For some reason, the Faolans always went somewhere on the full moon, but Skye had no idea where. Speaking of moons….. she stared at the sky. The sun had almost set. She was going to be late! Forgetting Raven’s warning, she started running at full speed into the forest, barely even noticing the transformation. If she just cut across here, she could–
“Hey, Skye! Where are you going?”
Thinking for a moment that it was Siobhan and her transformation hadn’t worked, she whirled around. At least, she tried to. It’s kind of hard for a wolf to whirl.
“Ow,” she muttered, getting up slowly and checking for broken bones. “Katie, you scared me!”
“What? I don’t understand Wolf.”
“Just follow me, okay?”
“What?”
Sighing, she started running again. After going around in circles for a while, she realized she wasn’t exactly going anywhere. She needed directions. And that was when she saw the other wolf.
“Oh, thank goodness!” she gasped in Wolf. “Do you know how to get to the human named Leona’s house?”
The other wolf stared for a second, and then said something completely unexpected.
“Skye?“
“That’s you, right? Oh, thank god.”
Raven swooped down from her branch to where the group was.
“I told you that the Fey control the dark at night! We need to get to your house immediatly,” she lectured.
“Change of plans. There’s no way we can go to my house.”
“Why?” everyone asked.
“Personal problems. I’ll tell you once we get there.”
((Uh, wait… are you with me? I didn’t think you were. That wolf was actually supposed to be Siobhan, I just never got around to writing it…))
((Oh! Sorry about that. I was a little slow there. I’ll try again…))
Leona:
“Hi Skye!” I chimed in, as the two wolfs stared at each other in shock. I skipped around them happily as if nothing unusual was going on. Raven swooped down from her branch to where the group was.
“I told you that the Fey control the dark at night! We need to get to your house immediatly,†she lectured me.
“Change of plans. There’s no way we can go to my house.â€
“Why?†everyone asked. My face fell into a dismal expression.
“Personal problems. I’ll tell you once we get there.â€
I shivered as I led the way, with Raven up above. Shadows always creep me out.
Rod:
I paced back and forth in front of the fireplace. How can I keep my little sister out of the war and on my side? It’s too dangerous for her. She isn’t used to the magical world!
Again, she was able to keep me at bay, which meant her powers were growing. The vines she created this time were already dying, since they became full grown in a matter of seconds. The beautiful pale pink flowers wilted before my eyes.
I don’t want that to happen to her.
“Okay, so does anyone else know somewhere we can stay the night? Somewhere full of light, preferably?”, Raven asked, panicking slightly. If only Jayjay, her older brother, were here…..
((New charrie! Name: Jayjay
looks; an older male version of Raven basically.
Powers: telepathy and teleporting.))
Jayjay:
Jay stiffened suddenly, startling his father who was praising his performance in the latest skirmish with the Fey. “What is it, son?”, he asked curiously. Jay s face was worried as he told his father “Its Raven. She’s panicking so hard I can feel her from here. She’s right outside the woods and it’s getting dark! I need to go and help her!” his father nodded. “Yes, quickly. This is bad.” Jay quickly teleported to where the source of his little sisters thoughts were coming from.
Raven:
Suddenly Jay appeared out of the air. “Raven, what are you thinking?! It’s almost dark!”, he hissed at her. She sighed. “These girls I met. One changeling, I-lost-count-of-how/many magical humans. I didn’t want to leave them for the Fey.”, she explained. Jay sighed. “Ok, hold in tight. All of you hold each others hands.”, he told them, grabbing her hand. Leona grabbed her hand as well and the others grasped hands as well. Raven prepared herself for the jerk of Jays teleporting.
((is this ok?))
Leona: I took Raven’s hand and looked at the guy she was talking to. He looked very much like her. Suddenly a huge jerk thrashed all of us around until we landed hard with a thump. I got on my feet and stretched out my aching muscles. A few trees popped up.
“What is this place?”
Raven:
“Yes, Jay, where is this?”, I asked curiously. Jay grinned. “Didnt you know, Dad’s a commander now? This is one of our bases.” “Wow, seriously?!” I looked around and saw varying degrees of confusion among the other girls “Oh, this is my brother Jay. Jay, these are Leona, Skye, Cassandra, and-wait, we have an addition? Skye, who’s your friend? And is the ghost still with us?”, I said awkardly “I met them all today. Leona’s a changeling.”. Jay laughed. “Sounds like you had a busy day!”
Jay:
Raven actually didn’t know that Dad had been promoted! She introduced me to all of her new friends. I searched their thoughts, making sure that they were trustworthy. They seemed to be, although the changeling’s thoughts were troubled- over what I couldn’t tell.
Leona:
Jay looked at me oddly.
“What?”
He said, “Your thoughts seem troubled.”
Most people would be confused, but I’ve gotten used to odd today.
“Troubled is an understatement,” I muttered, “Hey, isn’t there at least a few plants here?”
Jay gave me a look. “We’re in the middle of a desert.”
“Hm. Guess I’ll go ‘spruce’ up the place.”
((*smiles at corny joke*))
Skye:
“Ehh. Well. I think… I think this is my friend Siobhan. Apparently she’s a werewolf?” I said. “And yeah, Katie’s still here.”
“What?” everyone said. I realized that in all the excitement I’d forgotten to turn myself back! Sighing, I walked a few steps and concentrated on becoming human again, then repeated what I’d just said.
“Yeah, I’m a werewolf,” said Siobhan in Wolf. When I was in half-wolf form I could understand others, but when I was human I couldn’t communicate with them at all. “I…. I didn’t want you to find out, but I’m guessing after this you won’t mind…”
((Siobhan is my new character. She’s a werewolf, who transforms into a wolf on the night of the full moon; even when she’s not in wolf form she can talk to animals.))
((Thanks.))

AAAAAAAA! The pain was horrendous like if a million machines were searching your brain. (which basically was what they were doing to me.)
Let me tell you how I got to this point. I am half Fey and half human I am the last Pict only because of this The petty humans of this time have trapped me in a confinement lab named “area 51” in what they now call Nevada.
((this is the history))
GAAAAH! EVAN? IS THAT YOU? HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT MB? DO YOU EVEN SUBSCRIBE TO MUSE? PLEASE TELL ME YOU’RE THE SAME PERSON AS JOCK?

The humans only left one puny guard not enough to stop me. I willed my hands to become knives felt them take the shape, then it was done “what the!” the guard said as I cut through the glass. Jumping out from the hole I stabbed him as he was reaching for his gun. Running through the hallways towards the exit I heard the alarm bells ringing in my ears as I escaped into the night.
((141 – I laughed at that last part.
143 – Hi, N-A-B-A-M-S-J-B-B-T-W-J-J, are you new to the blog? Welcome! *shakes hand* Now, then, do you think you could try and be a little more grammatically correct with your posts from now on? We’re kind of picky about that here on Museblog, and some of the older bloggers will remind you as well.))
((Are RPG characters supposed to be written from first or third person?))
((Um, either.))
((145 – Either one. The general preference on MB is first person, but there’s no rule.))
((Thanks. I’d like to enter my character soon, but I’m not sure how, can anybody give me any ideas?))
((Hmmm… *reads character description* Maybe you could enter yours with Koko’s Apprentice’s. That might work out.))
((Thanks. Koko’s Apprentice, when are you entering your character?))
((Cake! I forgot to change bubblebabe’s name to mine again. Post number 148 was mine. We’re sisters, and therefore sharing a computer.))
((It’s fine.
Hmmm… You’re sisters and your avatars are the same shape.))
((Not anymore, I guess ))
((I guess I should post on here.))
HARRY:
I was still stuck in the girl’s third world. How was I supposed to get out? Then it felt like everything had flipped upside down, and suddenly I was back in the normal world, in a forest. So, what to do now? I thought to myself. I decided to start walking in some direction, at the very least.
FIONA:
Leaving my brother to figure out how to get out of the world, I warped back to the camp I was stationed at. It wasn’t all that important – somewhat small, out of the way, and only one high-ranking member here – but I could care less.
Walking into my tent, I wasn’t really surprised – but somewhat annoyed – to see him there again. He looked up from the map he was studying and said, “Ah, Fiona. Everything go as planned, I take it?”
“Yes,” I said sulkily. “It’s still up to him to find out which side I’m from, however, and decide to join us.”
“He will come,” the man said. I didn’t know his name, or much about him – just that he was a high-ranking member and I didn’t like him. He looked at me curiously and said, “Something wrong, Fiona?”
“Yes!” I said, finally letting my anger out. “Have you ever considered that you ask too much? Has it ever crossed your brilliant mind that I don’t want to do this?”
“Why?” he said, smirking. “Because he’s your brother?”
“How did you-?” I said, starting forward. He unsheathed his sword and pointed it at me, forcing me to stop. In a cynical tone, he said, “Have you forgotten yourself, Fiona?”
I stepped back, bowed my head, and said, “Sorry, sir. I forgot my place. It won’t happen again.”
He nodded, sheathed his sword, and said, “Whether you want to do this or not, you’re here now, and you do what you’re told.” Then he leaned in and whispered in my ear, “Don’t forget who I work for.”
Then he walked out of the tent.
I-Man, i like your writing, I mean, I like your writing!
((I know you don’t know this, but since this is a role-playing game, could you post in double parentheses if you’re not writing as a character?))
((bubblebabe, I’ve noticed you doing this a lot lately. Instead of deleting chatspeak errors, you leave them and say, “I mean, [corrected form of sentence]. You may be trying to show us that you’re making improvement, but we would all be a lot more grateful if you could just leave the chatspeak out entirely. Thank you!]
((I don’t have anything to do. *gives PoPoPo 5,000 kilos of virtual choklit and sincere apologies*))
Our group, which had grown alarmingly large, filed out of the shop. I was surprised to see Kiya coming along with us, but I figured she was going to come with us to the Sidhe.
“He’ll have gone to Central Park,” Alecksaandra said.
“Yeah, everyone finds their way there,” I agreed.
We got there in a few minutes, as it wasn’t far. The park was empty, apart from a few couples, whom I pointedly ignored.
“There he is!” Max exclaimed. Walter rolled his eyes. “As if we need him, running off like that,” he muttered, obviously eager to get away from the group. Yastan was observing everything impassively.
“Harry!” I ran up to him. “Where have you- What happened?” I asked, seeing his expression.
((153 – No, I’m somewhere else now.))
((…Ok… How are we to find you?))
((I don’t think you will for a while. If you do, it will be in a battle, since Harry is going to be on the evil side for a while ))
((154.1.1- K then. *shrug*))
((Does someone else want to post? Anyone? I don’t feel like rewriting my post… *lazy*))
((Well, I think the whole post is void now… Unless we go to Central Park to find no one?))
(9And where exactly are we trying to go right now? I suppose Walter’s goal will be to get involved with this war.))
((Yea… PP something exciting, will you? I got nothin’.))
((Is it okay if we call the humans with powers the Empowered, like the old RPW/RRR?))
((Can I meet up with the group in Central Park?))
((I don’t see why not.))
((Oh, oh!!! Daisy*chain, do you mind if I copy a bit of your post?))
Our group, which had grown alarmingly large, filed out of the shop.
“He’ll have gone to Central Park,†I said.
“Yeah, everyone finds their way there,†Alecai agreed.
We got there in a few minutes, as it wasn’t far. The park was empty, apart from a few couples, whom I pointedly ignored.
“There he is!†Max exclaimed. But when we got closer, we realized it wasn’t him. From a distance the person had looked like a kid, but when we got closer, it was clear this person was an old man. He hobbled up to us.
“I’m Cobalt Sniggle,” he said, “I don’t know what to do!”
((Hey… I was gonna’ do that…))
((Sure, that’s fine. *giggle* Cobalt Sniggle. That’s an awesome name!))
((Pseudonym- Do you mind if PP you into our group?))
((Silver Leopard already has.))
I wasn’t sure if I should be talking to these people. They seemed like a bunch of teenage hooligans. ((Sorry about that.)) But I was just so confused ever since my older sister, who lived with me, informed me that I was sending her thoughts in which I called her a whiny old bat. I could use the help of anybody right now, even a bunch of dirty kids.
((Sorry about that too. He’s supposed to be a cantankerous old man. Which side are you guys on?))
((The Good Side (the Sidhe.)))
These new Empowered would need help and training. I put a “Closed, On Vacation” sign in the shop’s window and joined the others.
((Ok, I’m planning Umbra gets sent on a mission to knock out and take Alecksaandra prisoner but she’s captured by you guys instead.
Oh, Espa is discovered by Raven (HINTHINT) and knocked out (she’s only partly conspicuous).))
((160- I think most everyone’s on the good side… The Emoticon hasn’t been here, so Yastan has been lurking. And so far Alecai is indifferent when it comes to the war.
162- …Our group just keeps on growing… But don’t get me wrong- I have nothing against you joining us! The more the merrier, right?))
I felt a pang of disappointment at our mistake. I’d really hoped we would find Harry; it was a big city, and I’d had been sure he was here.
“I’m Cobalt Sniggle,†the old man said, “I don’t know what to do!”
I wondered briefly why he’d introduced himself right away, but didn’t dwell on it.
“Are you lost or something?” Alecksaandra asked.
“Are you looking for someone?” Aaron followed up.
“No, but something’s telling me you people can help me,” Sniggle said, sounding a bit confused.
“Well, what’s the matter?” Kiya asked curiously.
“My sister says I’ve been sending her thoughts where I called her a whiny old bat.”
“Well, is she a whiny old bat?” Walter asked sarcastically.
“Yes, but- I mean- What does that have to do with anything?!”
“Nothing really, that’s just Walter.” I rolled my eyes. “You might be telepathic, though. Just saying.”
((There’s about one person left on the evil side, and even he switches sides, to try and take over the world.))
((Yea… that may be problematic. >.<
We could have a sort of generic army for the evil side, like in BA.))
((I have an evil person! She hasn’t done anything yet, but she will. Ohh, yes she will. She’s a faerie, of course… Does that matter?))
((Could she possibly be on Earth and recruit my character to the evil side? I could run into her in Central Park…))
((I did something. I think that when you go tell the mysterious man your plans, Errata’s character could pick you up and you end up recruited for them.))
((I have an evil character! And I’m pretty sure there are some people who have sort-of evil characters who are basically mercenaries…))
((I could make an evil character. I only have Walter currently.))
((I was kind of hoping that an evil character could convince mine to work for the evil side. It wouldn’t be too hard, he’s pretty stupid.))
((Maybe you could get caught by someone evil.))
((Side Story, kind of))
A man waited on a bench in Central Park, fuming. His monster hadn’t worked, and he hadn’t been able to catch the two twins with the dog he’d put a spell on. He looked up a large group of people approached, and he noticed the twins and others he’d tracked were among it. An old man lagged slightly behind, and before anyone noticed, he’d whisked Cobalt Sniggle away behind a tree.
“Who are those people?” the man asked.
“I don’t know, mister. They said they’re good, and that I might be telepathic,” Cobalt Sniggle responded.
“Good,” the man said.
“Why have you snitched me from them?”
“They’re bad people, and they want destruction.”
“How do you know?”
“I used to work for them. They’re horrible, I assure you. Will you help me stop them?”
The old man hesitated, fooled by the lies.
“All you need to do is tell me their plans,” the mysterious man said.
“Okay.”
The man whisked the elderly telepath back to his group, and slipped away silently, smug with his plans. No one got away from Cyrus Cobalt.
((Oops. His last name isn’t Cobalt. It’s Scarletto))
((I’m backtracking a little. This is right after Aleci (Sorry if I spelled that wrong) tells me I’m telepathic.))
“How dare you!” I said indignantly. Tell me I was some kind of freak, would she. Well, this whole thing seemed fishy to me. I huffed off angrily, right into another man. He told me they were bad people, planning some kind of a disaster. I thought the whole setup seemed strange with them. He told me I could help him. Well, I was glad to help anyone reliable. I hurried to catch up with the rotten teenagers again.
A thin and young but tall girl dressed all in black (post 18 has Umbra’s physical description and her clothes) sat on a tree branch, her legs swinging back and forth, looking for her targets.
There! was the one thought as she spotted Alecksi and Walter.
They passed in front of the tree and she grinned, slipping of the branch silently and landing behind them, saying only one sentence to the teenage group.
“I know what you are…I’m like you.”
Alecksaandra~
“I know who you are… I’m like you.”
Walter and I whirled around, and I was yanked aside. Aarronn seemed to come out of nowhere, and grabbed my sleeve.
“Who are you?!” he asked, his face suspicious, “What do you want?” My eyes found the person now. The girl who had grabbed me was thin, and dressed all in black.
By now, everyone else had gathered.
“Which side?” Alecai asked, eyes narrowed, “And what did you want with Alecksi?”
“I’m on the good side,” the girl said. I wasn’t too trustful of the girl, but I didn’t suspect she was lying until…
“She’s lying,” Kiya said. The girl’s eye’s widened, almost fearfully.
“Are you sure?” Aarronn said, voicing my thoughts.
“Kiya is empathetic,” Alecai informed us, “She cam sense others feelings, and when they’re lying, and stuff like that.”
“So… what do we do?” I asked.
Oops. I meant “can sense others feelings,”.
UMBRA:
I shook my head. “Oftentimes my feelings are contradictory to how I feel. When you’ve been doing…what I do for as long as I have, you get good at blocking out the truth.” I knew the words sounded strange, coming from a girl of 11, but hey, whatever worked!
To prove my point, I picked a leaf up, disappeared into its’ shadow, and reappeared in the tree from a shadow. “The truth isn’t what you feel it is, it just is. Please trust me, I’ve been blocking for too long and it’s hard for me to stop…”
(Umbra isn’t telling the truth. She’s there to kidnap Alecksi, Walter, and now Kiya because she was ordered to.)
ESPA:
I gritted my teeth. Changing a mission wasn’t ever a good thing, but I had to go after the shadow changeling and her targets, which made it even worse! I hated targets like that in public.
I’d just have to do mass extinction of anyone who saw, which made me slightly happier.
I soon landed in my human-ish clothes: sunglasses, a forehead-covering headband, a hat, a jacket with hand covers, and jeans with a special space spell cast on them so they hid my tail.
So I waited in a tree for them, and there were my targets right now.
I shot a rain of energy blasts and leaped to a tree across from mine, making sure the group I’d just shot didn’t notice…
Oh, maybe they did-I saw the shadow changeling looking at the place I was hidden with fury in her eyes.
Oh, cakecakecakecakecake…
“Blocking? Blocking what?” I asked, looking carefully at the girl. I had measured as deep as I could, but everywhere in her mind I had sensed the tension associated with lying.
Umbra:
“Give me a sec. There!” I said, diving into the shadows and coming up behind our unknown attacker in a tree, knocking her onto the ground and knocking her out. I sunk into the shadows once again, carrying the attacker, and continued over to the group, laying the girl on the ground.
Purple hair, cat ears, reversed eyes…
I looked at Kiya.
“Well, look, I’ve caught a Fey,” I said with a degree of cunning-technically, I purred the words.
I watched the girl warily. I vaguely noticed Mr. Sniggle rejoining us, but I couldn’t focus.
‘There are so many people…’ I was usually alone, and when I wasn’t, I had a habit of watching everyone nearby. Not being able to keep track of people unnerved me.
The dark girl, as I’d nicknamed her, vanished dizzyingly, only to reappear carrying an unconscious girl…
“Well, look, I’ve caught a Fey,†she said gloatingly.
I didn’t trust her. The way she’d coolly incapacitated the girl… And she lied with such confidence…
Whatever she’d come to do, whatever she’d followed us for, she had to be stopped. A glance at Kiya showed she shared my thoughts.
((Idea! Umbra needs shadows… Walter could create enough fire to eliminate any shadows surrounding us so we can capture her.))
“Look, I think we’re in need of some explanations here…” I said, looking at the shadow girl, and reaching out for another probe.
ESPA:
I stirred feebly, then noticed the mind probe near me. Feeding on that energy, I was soon pushed back to full energy!
I sprang up away from the ground.
“Change of plans, shadow changeling,” I hissed, then fired a fast kick at her head after shedding my human clothes and revealing my revealing bodysuit.
“I need to knock you out, since you’re oh so‘evil’ and dangerous…”
UMBRA:
“Oh, so what?” I replied, shooting poison drops at the girl and leaping out of the way.
I shot a look at the remaining group. “As long as you’re there, help me and let’s worry about loyalties LATER!”
WALTER:
“I like this chick,” I said.
Umbra cut the connection as she attacked the other girl and asked for our help.
((WHo exactly is Walter supposed to be fighting? I got a little lost there.))
((No one. Umbra was sent to capture Alecksi and Walter, and now Espa has tried to attack Umbra. Umbra asked for us to help her fight Espa, after lying about being on the Good side.))
((Oh, and Umbra’s a double agent. Like Ailissa, she works for whatever side she chooses, so being on the ‘good’ side isn’t really a lie…
However, Espa’s a Fey bounty hunter))
Jay:
Well, Raven’s been busy lately. I whistle. “A werewolf? Wow! And a ghost, too!”, I say. Raven grins at me. “I wonder if Leona’s having any luck ‘sprucing’ up this desert?”, she asks. “I dunno, your guess is as good as mine. But I do see some trees now.”
Raven:
“So where’s Dad? I haven’t seen him for ages!”, I ask Jay. I could, of couse, ask him mentally, but if I just dashed off suddenly the others might think it odd. He senses my intention and grins. “He’s in the fort, waiting to meet your friends.” I groan. Way to confuse the others, Jay. Now you are going to explain yourself? I think at him furiously. Dad thinks I should. It’s unfair to them, isn’t it? he replies. I nod reluctantly. “Fine. Go ahead. But let’s go inside. I want to say hello to Dad.”, I tell him, and fly off towards the fort, not bothering to check if the others followed.
I shoot a look at Walter as I barely dodged Espa’s attack, while she had no trouble avoiding mine!
“I don’t care what you think of me, can we talk about this LAT-” I hissed, but was cut short as I was thrown into a tree by a large blast of energy.
“Unhh…” I moaned, slipping into unconsciousness…
ESPA
I watched in satisfaction as the shadow changeling fell unconscious against the tree and slumped to the ground, then looked at the group.
“You know, if you don’t agree to come with me, you’ll be hurt,” I purred. “And we don’t want that, do we? So come with me, human children, and I’ll show you where your loyalists ought to lie.”
((Espa said “human children” even though she looks 15 because she’s really 150. Ha ha.
Oh, and she has definite malicious intent right now.))
((Fishy! Kai! SilverLeopard! Come back!))
((I’m here!))
((FISHY! KAI! Yes, SL, you’re here, but I need you to roleplay.))
“Well…” I wasn’t sure if I should trust this girl, although her emotions seemed more sincere than Umbra’s.
ESPA
I sighed. “Look, children, come with me or be injured. I know the correct loyalties you should have, let me tell you-” at this point, my eyes narrowed (a creepy sight, seeing as they were white on black), my ears pointed forward, and I grinned, revealing my sharp canines- “and I’d recommend you go for the right side. Otherwise, it’ll be…unpleasant, to say the least!”
((Fishy, Kai, SilverLeopard! Hello?))
((Alright.))
Alecksi~ Feeling very wary, I slid a few inches backward, then scolded myself for being a wimp.
“We, er, don’t really want to right now?”
“Be careful what you say, child,” the cat girl said, and took a step forward.
I half-froze. Suddenly, those teeth seemed a bit sharper than before.
“These people seem fine to me. The Good Side seems like a much better option.”
“Then, in that case…” The cat girl launched herself at me.
“I don’t think so.”
I shot open my lighter and blew up the flames. I was surrounded in a ball of flames swirling around our group. She couldn’t come near us now.
“Come on guys, we can take her.”
((Everyone tell me his/her character’s power and we can all come up with a battle plan. Avalongirl, do you actually want us to come with you? Perhaps we should just see how this goes, and who wins in the end. Or maybe that just doesn’t work with RPing…
((Alecksi has air power, and Aarronn’s a shape-shifter. Alecksi particularly likes making mini tornadoes by winding air around something, and then letting it spin out. They only last a little while though.))
((I’m feeling a fire tornado. And that could be a distraction for an unfortunate Elephant trampling the girl-cat.))
ESPA:
I flipped backwards and mostly avoided the fire shield…but not completely.
I’d been suprised by it, and my air current futuresight didn’t work if it wasn’t a physical based attack or something of the sort!
My left arm bore a long scorch mark.
Darn.
“Energy can go through fire, you know, boy. Just like mine goes through shadow!” I hissed angrily at Walter and shot a v-shaped blast of energy at him.
((Fishy, no I don’t. Espa is going to lose because of Umbra, Umbra joins your group, and something happens to Espa.))
((Fishy? SilverLeopard? Kai? Hello?))
((Sorry, lots of schoolwork, I’ll be on later today.))
((183- Kiya can sense and project emotions.))
Aarronn~ I watched the shadow girl shake herself awake as my sister quickly spun a sloppy tornado around her finger and let it loose. She was practiced at this, and the wind storm, however shabby, did its job. Walter ducked, and the attack spun away from the rest of the group, out of the fire shield.
((That’s all I can think of right now, sorry.))
‘This girl just isn’t going to let up, is she?’ I thought sulkily. Feys always ruined everything.
I morphed, growing ever taller to a full height of 7 feet, my hair turning ashen grey and short, my eyes blank and expressionless.
Gazing down at our group, I wondered how we could get rid of the two newcomers.
The dark girl was waking up from where she was lying crumpled on the floor.
I bent down to her and said flatly, “I don’t trust you, but we don’t have time for this. Get up, and let’s finish this.”
UMBRA
I nodded to Alecai, pushed myself up from the ground, and dove into the shadows.
ESPA
“You jerks! That shadow changeling was MINE! She was MINE to destroy, and you helped her, so she’ll run away from us all like the snake she is!” I screamed angrily, and a blaze of red energy with purple streaks began to writhe around my body, destroying anything natural that was within three inches.
“Now let’s see how good you are against pure energy,” I hissed, and my fists clenched.
UMBRA
I smoothly slid out of the shadows behind the energy Fey, Espa, my knife to her throat. I didn’t mind the energy blaze, my body wasn’t entirely natural-as given by my magic-so I wasn’t bothered by it at all. Besides, she was good, I was better…
“How?” she whispered in disbelief. “I should have sensed…”
“It isn’t such a mystery, bounty hunter Espa,” I whispered in her ear.
“I’m just better than you.”
I then whacked her with the knife’s handle, and she slumped to the ground unconscious.
((And there goes the fight~))
((Fishy? Daisy? SilverLeopard? Kai?))
((I was going to post…. but. must. finish. essay. andpagelongletter. Homework=death. *vanishes* ))
cries to come here–
((PROCRASTINATION=WIN.
I am finishing my homework tomorrow. Yay.))
Walter looked disappointed, he must’ve enjoyed the chance to use his power.
I hoisted up the cat girl from where she lay on the ground, slung her over my shoulder.
“So, let’s go, shall we?” I asked, already starting to walk off.
“What about Umbra?” Max asked.
“I’m coming with you.” the dark girl, apparently Umbra, said.
Kiya looked annoyed, but said nothing.
((I don’t know what to post…))
((Alecksi and Aarronn are staying with their uncle. They need to go to his apartment.))
“Wait, we have to go to our Uncle’s.” Aarronn said.
“Then we’ll come with you there.” I said.
((Come back here!!!!))
((Silver, powerplay me. I’m going to do my schoolwork now and can’t post.))
WALTER:
“Wait, what are we gunna’ do with the bounty hunter chick?” I lit another cigarette.
“Leave her. We’ll get far enough away,” said Alecai.
“No… We should tie her up. She could find us,” I said.
“Fine! You do it!” She said, frustrated.
I flicked open the lighter and carefully surrounded her hands with a circle of fire, and held it.
“What are you doing?”
“She can’t blast her way out of these handcuffs. It just takes a little concentration…” They all heard the sizzle of her shirt being burnt.
“Just don’t burn her hands off.”
I nudged at her, and she woke up. She instantly tried to jump up to attack me. She moved, but the handcuffs stayed in the same place.
“AGGH! WHAT IS THAT!?” She screamed.
“You can’t move so quickly… It’s hard to move the handcuffs with your body.”
“Ha! Fire doesn’t burn if I just quickly pass through it!” She seperated her hands quickly.
“What makes you think that I can’t make them bigger?” I let the handcuffs separate and burn her hands lightly.
“You bastard! Let me go!”
I smirked,” Come on. Let’s go.”
UMBRA
I nodded to Walter, looking at Espa with a look of hatred on my face.
“No one tells me what I am, Espeon,” I hissed into her ear.
“No one.“
((So… where are we going?))
((The twin’s uncle’s house.))
((Ah.))
((Hello?))
((Dang, I thought we were going to have a record with how fast this thread fills up.))
Aleksi~
“Only a few people should come with us,” Aarronn pointed out as we reached the building. We had come by the back alleys, and now stood behind the apartment building.
“How about only Kiya comes with us?” I suggested. It ended up that way. We got buzzed in and went up to the fifth floor. My uncle opened the door, smiling.
((I spelled Alecksi wrong… oops…))
((Whoever made the twins should continue to their house or whatever.))
Kiya:
I went with the twins to their uncle’s apartment. After being buzzed in and riding to the fifth floor, he was there to greet us. He had brown hair with streaks of gray and projected feelings of joy and relief at seeing his relatives again.
Leona:
“Ah, that’s better.”
In front of me was a huge wall of spruces, birches, pines, oaks, willows, and every other plant you could think of under the sun. I took a few gentle steps away from the shadows cast by them. They creep me out. I looked behind me to find the rest of the group following Raven’s black form farther away.
“Wait up you guys!”
I ran towards them, with a line of foliage springing up behind me.
((Sorry I’ve been gone so long. ))
((I can’t post right now, my screentime is done. Sorry))
Solara:
I was in my garden when they came again.
“Solara”
I sighed, and turned around. “What is it?”
“We wished to know whether you had re-thought your answer.”
I sighed again. “I have thought through this countless times. I am not against you, but I see no point in fighting. What did the other side do, other then be evil? Why all this ending of life? Don’t answer that. I know your reasons, that they will take over Earth if you do not stop them. Let them take over Earth, then. They would do a better job ruling it then the humans. Less life would be lost. All would be better. Yet you continue to see taking over the world as evil. You continue to fail to recognize that the ‘evil’ faeries merely see things a different way. You continue to slay.” I paused. “I refuse to take part in your war. I will let you know if my answer changes.”
Their shoulders slumped. “Recruitment hasn’t been going well recently.”
“So you thought you’d bother those who have given their answer already. If you want to recruit someone, go recruit humans. It’s their war, if it’s anyone’s.” I turned back to the plant I’d been watering. “Spout philosophy at me all you like, it won’t change my mind.”
They left then. I knew, without even looking. They always would. Always.
Ancara:
“What is it?”
I stepped into my superior’s tent.
“Oh, Ancara, why the hostile tone? I mean no harm… Well, I do, but not to you. But to the point. We need more recruits, badly. With your gift, you are so valuable at convincing Empowered to come. I ask you to find more recruits, and bring them here. I will train them, while you find more. Is that acceptable?”
“Perfectly.” I grinned an evil grin. “Deceiving innocents is amazingly enjoyable. The Fey will have more recruits soon, count on it.” I stood up. “May shadows watch you.”
“And also you.”
((I’ve got nothing…. What should we do with the uncle? Mortal? Faerie?))
Raven’s POV
I grin at Leona as she catches up, with a trail of trees springing up behind her. “Just what we needed.”, comments Jay. “Are any of these edible?” Leona shrugs. “I dunno. Wasn’t really thinking about that, actually. Probably some are though.” I grin at Jay. So are you going to tell them about your power or not? Thought you were going to. I think at him. He nods. Fine.
Jay’s POV:
I nod at Raven. Fine. I grin at her. I reach into Leona’s mind once more. Leona, why are you so worried? I ask her mentally. She jumps. “What in the world?” she asks, staring at me. I laugh. “I’ve got telepathy. But really, why so worried?” I reply offhandedly. They stare at me. Way to go, brother. Catch them off balance much? Raven scolds me mentally. I chuckle. Go ahead. Father wants to see you. I’ll take care of your friends while you catch up. I think back at her. She nods and heads inside. “So what are your names again?” I ask her friends. “And If you want I can try to stay out of your heads. It’s second nature to me really, especially now when I use it to give instructions to troops. Absolutely bewilders the enemy, that.”
((No, Jay is not evil. He just doesn’t know how to really deal with humans.))
Aarronn-
Kiya left us with Uncle Lane, and Alecksi and I got settled in by dinnertime. We slept in a room with twin beds that used to be our cousin’s. The youngest of the two had started college this year.
The night was uneventful, no mutant dogs or evil Fey came climbing in our window, and the next morning we ate breakfast quickly, and reached the antique shop soon after.
I stared at Jay. What in the world?
“Alright then. So, you wanted edible plants, right?” I said.
As I spoke, an orange tree, peach trees, and many other fruits and vegetables sprung up behind me. “Nice, huh?”
In the back of my head, I was still worried about the fight with Rodd … but it seemed like a far-off dream right now, so I ignored the knot in my stomach.
FIONA
I glared after him, then sighed and turned back. Cat jumped out of my hands onto the table, turned to look at me, and said, “He is quite inconsiderate of you. Shall I go attack him?”
“No,” I said, sighing. “He’s a higher rank than me. And anyway, my brother doesn’t remember anything, so we no longer have any connection.”
“Fiona…” Cat said in a concerned tone. I held up a hand and said, “It’s alright – I don’t have any worries.”
He looked at me, his head cocked to one side. Then he jumped down to his bed and said, “Well, I think I’ll get some rest. Good night, Fiona.”
“G’night, Cat,” I said, sitting on my bed. I took the picture off my bedside table – the framed one of me and Harry at the amusement park when we were 9 – and looked at it. He was nothing to me now, but it still hurt ever so slightly…
Aarronn~
We were well on our way to the antique shop when Alecksi shivered. She walked a bit faster, and motioned for me to watcht. Be quiet, she mouthed, There’s someone following us. Act casual.
I made two people, one with each hand and made them walk apart from each other. I mouthed back, Meet you at the antique shop. She nodded, and kept going straight while I crossed the street.
I ducked into an empty alleyway, and changed into a cat, the change that activated the least magic, and didn’t attract much attention. I slipped out to see the man looking both ways, and crossing toward me. He wore a blue suit, and had a briefcase. He wore a red tie around his neck, (one that Cobalt Sniggle would recognize) which was like a beacon for me.
Alecksi would go straight to the antique shop, I knew that for sure. She was safe. I wove through the crowds of people walking to work, hoping to lose the man. I almost did once or twice. Finally, by the time the antique shop was in view, there wasn’t any sign of the man. I slipped through the door, half an hour after Alecksi had, and morphed back into myself.
Come back, peoples!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COME PEOPLE!!!!!!!! COME BACK!!!!!!!!!
Aarronn and Alecksi burst through the front door of the shop, causing the bell to ring wildly.
“Where’s the fire?” I asked, looking up from unpacking the Roomba I had purchased to help clean the floors.
“There was a strange man out there, in a suit.”
“He followed us!”
Alecksi~
I was panting, and I could see that Aarronn hadn’t noticed I’d come in only a few seconds before he had. He was probably too flustered to notice.
“The man was wearing blue, with a scarlet tie. You can’t miss him,” Aarronn said.
“We lost him,” I assured Kiya.
“Where’s everyone else?” Aarronn asked.
“I can contact them.”
I would like to join, if it’s all right. My person is named Sylenta, and she can control air. She can fly if she is strong enough to gather enough wind, but if she gets distracted, bye-bye Sylenta. If she’s too high above the ground, that is. So what’s happening so far?
((It’s kind of a long story, but the Faerie and Human worlds are colliding and ordinary humans are manifesting supernatural powers. A war between two Faerie factions, the Fay and the Sidhe, has carried over into the Human world, and agents from both sides are actively recruiting the powered humans.))
((And there are two main groups, both of will-be-good Empowered, as Kai suggested we call the humans with powers. My group, with a couple Sidhe (good faeries), and some Empowered, which is at the Sidhe camp. Kai’s, which includes almost completely Empowered, and is at Kai’s antique shop, I think. Most of what’s happened is all the groups have been gathered together into groups.))
((Okay, this roleplay is officially confusing. Right now:
We’re in two different groups.
On two different continents.
At two different times.
With no plans on how we’re meeting up.
We need to resolve some of these. Being in two groups, etc, is okay, except that Group Kiya, (I’m christening it that because Kai appears to be the leader) just finished a good night’s sleep, and Group Raven was, at last count, just at sunset. Of course, we’ve teleported ourselves to who-knows-where since, so I have no clue where/when we are.))
((And I am officially confused. *is confused*))
Alecksi~
“Maybe everyone should meet here,” Aarronn said, “We ought to ask them if they’ve seen this man.”
((Should I make Cyrus Scarletto (the guy who got Cobalt Sniggle in the park) one of my characters?
To 219.1~ I like the idea of flying. (Maybe Alecksi is able to do that too? She has air powers.)))
((Please tell me you did not name him (Cyrus) after Miley Cyrus. If you did I will scream. Loudly and unpleasantly. Then I will bite your cat.))
((I named him after the evil guy from Team Galactic in some of the Pokemon Nintendo DS games. (My brother has some of the games, so that’s where I got the name))
((I. Hate. Miley. Cyrus. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…))
Hi, am kinda new, so I don’t really know what to do here…
((I’m going to start over again. I needs a summary, plaise. Tank fu.
Warning: this profile will be littered with manga references.
Name: Jade Pendleton (lovingly ripped off from my Nano)
Age: 19 (DN reference, anyone? XD)
Side: Good
Race: Faerie
Powers: epic powers of win She has a pretty good magic core. She doesn’t require a wand. Magic comes out of a scar (in the shape of a rune) on her hands (that made me think of Deidara right there, bwahaha). The magic is a bright jade-ish green light, and can knock people off of their feet and blind them. She can also do some minor leviatation and has a type of mind control that can slow down your movements a bit. But the last two things take a lot out of her, so she tries to get by. But if she has nothing left to lose, she uses them as a last resort. (like Sven from Black Cat)
Mad skills: Jade can kick butt. She is epically win with guns. She can use a blade when necessary, but prefers not to, as, to quote Hawkeye from FMA, “I like guns. You don’t have to feel your victim die.” She’s pretty good at hand to hand combat.
Personality: She has pretty good pain resistance, and doesn’t mind the sight of . It’s a bit of a ritual for her to taste her if she’s wounded (too weird?). She’ll often yell out strange things in a battle (“You are a human cow Hybrid, you balmy idiot! Hahaha~”) Has the smae kind of sarcastic and slacker demeanor as Kakashi (Naruto).
Other things: She smokes. Ummm… plays guitar?
Clothing preferences: Wears jade greeeen and black, likes black armbands, and wears a jade moon necklace. Wears a tunic and thigh length boots. Goggles with jade green lenses. (Matt reference, no duh.) Scarf.
((You should probably check to see if she is 30 or less on the MSLT.))
((She got a 10, but that’s prolly because she has no really defined past.))
((I-Man: will do.
I have changes.
Instead of scars on both hands, scar on left hand, because I want another FMA reference in there because FMA is awesome (go read it). Jade’s right arm is mechanical.))
((Zinc- you may want to cut back on some of the awesomeness there. Only two powers per character.
Oh, and- FMA FOR TEH WIN!!!))
((We need some serious organisation… Does anyone love this thread enough to investigate where everyone is? Or at least tell us where each group is and what its goal is.))
((I think there are two main groups – one in a forest in Ireland, and one in an antique shop in New York – plus a few characters scattered around elsewhere.))
((What we need is a new thread. Off to request it!))
