How do I refresh page?
What’s the matter? Can’t you see the board?
I can, but I was wondering how to refresh the page without having to click on the thread name.
Use your browser’s “refresh” button.
How do I know when to move?
After bookgirl_me moves, you’ll see her move on the board, and then you’ll be able to make your own move.
Thank you. You have been the most help on the blog since I have come back.
I am patient, but it is your turn. Please start.
Your move.
Where can I get one of these? Did the GAPAs make the chess board?
Yupitera: We make a chessboard when two people want to play. If you can find a partner, we’ll make one for you. We even have two kinds of nonstandard chess, and others are possible.
Why do I have the sinking feeling that I just did something stupid?
*waits*
I feel like that every move.
I guess it’s when you think: “Ah, yes, this is perfect!”, that’s when you mess up. Or at least I do.
I think it was a perfect move until it say move posting to blog.
And then the page reloads and you realize: Oh, cake!
Sorry I’ve been gone fot a while.
Sorry mas0n, that was the wrong move.
I just “watched” this chess game — it was really interesting! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game that has that much pawn movement (in that way, anyway).
bookgirl_me: 14. Nxe5 would have been stronger than dxe5. You’d have been able to move your queen to h5 or attack the king with the rook (later, rooks) on the open e file.
17- Hmm… I recall leaving the Knight in place so that I could attack the Queen if something went badly and cover the Bishop. But it was kind of pointless, since mas0n moved his queen anyway.
It’s more important to attack the king. Inner Morphy, remember?
It seems to be my problem in most games- I’m too overcautious.
That can be an effective strategy: build a sound position, avoid major mistakes, and wait for your opponent to make a bad move. If your opponent opens up a weakness for you, though, it’s good to know how to exploit it. You might not get another chance.
If I were teaching chess or coaching a chess team, I think I’d post big signs saying “IT’S THE KING, STUPID.” It’s amazing how people tend to forget that.
Good game bookgirl_me. I came back and was really suprised by that sudden move that won the game.
