MuseBlog Fanfiction, Part 4

Continued from Part 3.

The year is 2020. The heroes: a few dozen young men and women, most in their late 20s. Fifteen years earlier, four friendly-seeming but mysterious people gathered them on what was then known as the World Wide Web, dropped hints about an important destiny or mission they were to fulfill, and then vanished. Over the years, some of the group kept in touch; others drifted apart. Now a great danger has brought them all back together again…

    Okay, until Armada comes along and bails us out, here are the basics: This RPG was started by several “older” MBers, whom we are currently PPing. They got hoodwinked by some fake GAPAs who imprisoned Jadestone. Armada and I came to the rescue. She was captured and met Jade, I escaped with the others. KaiYves and Enceladus have joined me and the others after surviving a plane crash. Right now, there was a car cash scene and the older MBers, who will attack the HPBs while the three next-generation MBers free Jadestone and Armada, have got out and are fighting the HPBs while I bring Enc and Kai up to speed on our plots. Oh, and there’s also an important “device” that Shadowkat stole from the fake GAPAs which has an excel spreadsheet electronically stored in it which lists past miserly events and predicts the future. And I’m legally dead and according to the story, the blog went down in 2005. Just ignore that bit. For those who want to read the long version, it’s at comment 146 (just skim the following ones) here, I hope. And the worl is being taken over by HPBs *static*

    XD I’m here, sorry. Thanks tons for the new thread, GAPAS! :arrow:

    1- JOIN! JOIN! JOIN! We only have three people writing currently, and Enc hasn’t written anything in ages…we need absolutely everyone we can get.

    3- Yup. Nice summary. Thanks. :)

    Now…lemme see. I can’t remember whether I actually ever wrote me waking up…hm. I’ll write another one, anyway. XD
    ~~~~~~~~
    Armada woke up, and opened her eyes. And then blinked. And opened her eyes again.
    Where was she? She couldn’t see anything….
    “Hello?” she called, trying to sit up. She bumped her head on a low, sloping ceiling. “Is anyone there?”
    She wasn’t expecting an answer. But there was a noise from somewhere to her right, and a voice called out “I am, I think…”
    She nearly bumped her head again. “Who’s that?” she said cautiously, trying to stand up. What was going on?
    “Jadestone,” said the voice. “You?”
    “Armada. What’s going on?”
    “I’m not sure. I followed someone I thought was Urania, but she wasn’t, and then there was something pink, and I woke up here….what about you?”
    “Uh….” Armada said rather sheepishly. “I tackled Robert. I think.”
    “Robert Coontz?”
    “Yeah. Except he wasn’t. That was why I tackled him,” she added.
    “Ah. I…see. Not.”
    Armada sighed, and tried to make her way towards Jadestone. “Anyway. Let’s figure out how to get out of here, shall we?”
    “Dates in the future? What KIND of dates?” KaiYves asked, looking nervous.
    “Well, the way it looks, each person’s row on the spreadsheet has their date of birth, the dates of their first and last posts, and what might be the date… of their death.”
    ((Right. I read the entire story, at great expense to NaNo time, and am ready to join. I need to find a way to work my way into a car already way too full of people, driving at top speed through Florida, and being chased by bunnies. As myself at twenty three. Which won’t be easy, especially as I have no plans to move to FL… Okay.
    Bio:
    I’ve become a moderately successful writer, trying to eke out a name for myself. I’ve learned Aikido, (The gentle art of getting the heck out of the way) and become somewhat proficient at it. I teach English on the side, to support my writing career. I’m in FL for a writing conference. I never had any information about other MBers, so I lost touch of everyone very soon after MB closed down, and went on with my life.
    I think I might also have some paranoid friends that are busy preparing for America’s downfall, which will rain down from the skies in the form of overaggressive clover. It’ll overtake all the other plants, and all that. (Yes, that’s a subtle reference to a geeky source.)That’s an interesting excuse to have a large network of underground hideouts.
    I still haven’t figured out how the blazes I’m ever going to figure out it’s you. I suppose the bunnies will help… Okay. That’d work. How ’bout your car runs out of gas right near where I am, and some bunnies recognize me as a potential threat, since I potentially know all about them, and attack me. I’m forced to fight back, and one of you asks if I’m a former MBer because of my knowledge of HBP weaknesses. Or something. That work? Yes, it’s complicated.))
    7.1.1.1- I have an idea; I’ll have a relapse to being bunnified. Enc and Kai will pull over, and you’ll help them buy me a ginger ale to debunnify me.
    ————————
    “That’s where everyone disagrees.” said bookgirl_me. “Some people think that this is all gibberish, some think that you can change it. Right now, I think that-” she made an inarticulate choking sound and twitch and foam at the mouth. Her irises went pink and she started mumbling something that sounded like… no NO! Bunny, BUNNIFY! NO! Bunnies evil, evil evil… MBers evil, BUNNIFY! No, no…
    ————————-
    Okay, one of you guys can take the wheel. I’ll just twitch and mumble incoherently to myself until you can buy me a ginger ale. Maybe one of you is out of money and Errata helps you pay, or Errata finds it/hands it to you while you’re still looking for it?
  10. Errata says:
    9- Okay. I’ll write that now, if you don’t mind.
    I walked down the sidewalk. Shame I couldn’t get a parking space any closer to the restaurant, but it couldn’t be helped. The walk would do me good, anyway.
    I had been walking right near the street, and I jumped back as a car pulled up right beside me, and a somebody got out. I heard them muttering about Ginger ale. Ginger ale. Ginger ale. What was the significance to that? I almost remembered, but I couldn’t quite. In any case, I knew where some was, and the man that had just gotten out of the car didn’t, judging by how he was looking around, as if he expected it to appear on the side walk. I approached him. “Excuse me, but I couldn’t help but hear that you wanted some ginger ale, and I happen to know where you could get some.”
    He focused on me. “Show me. And hurry.”
    I led him to the store I’d walked by a moment ago. I knew there was ginger ale in there, as I’d seen it. It wasn’t hard to find, either. I picked up one of those large boxes of them. “This too much?”
    “No. No. More is better. Hurry!”
    He grabbed it and ran for the counter. I walked more slowly, passing the counter just as he was counting out his money.
    “Five… Six… Seven… Eight… Nine… Blast! One dollar short!”
    I wasn’t sure why, but I felt like I had to help. I stepped up behind him, and pulled out a dollar. “Here.”
    He grabbed it and shoved it at the confused saleslady. “Here. Keep the change, and I don’t want a receipt.” He turned to me. “Thanks. Come on, Kai can repay you.”
    I followed without thinking. Kai? Where had I heard that before? I felt like I was being bombarded from all sides by phrases that should remind me of something. But what?
    We were back at the car before I figured it out. The man I was following had torn the pack open on the way, and shoved the first can at one of the ladies, both of whom had gotten out of the car. One was mumbling incoherently, and the other was looking concerned. She grabbed the can just as hastily, and undid its top. “Thanks, Enc.” She started giving the ginger ale to the other lady, but with that last word, everything had clicked into place. “Enceladus?
As she walked down a street, inspecting her surroundings and peoplewatching, she saw a group of people talking quietly. Her keen ears picked up one of the woman’s exclamation. “Enceladus?”
    She smiled and nearly walked by them casually. “Hold it. Did you just say Enceladus? Like the moon?” she asked on a sudden impulse, not knowing why she had said that. They turned around and stared at her. “Wait, you’re that pianist, aren’t you?” one of the women asked. Fireandhemlock nodded. “Yeah, I guess. Who are you guys, and what were you saying about Enceladus?” she persisted. The man coughed. “You see, it’s a name I go under sometimes.” he smiled. “Why?”
