David and Megan’s parodies (mentioned on page 3 of the November/December issue) are now available via the Gaboomba gallery page. Because of technical glitches, Moos is in black and white, but a color version will be coming soon.

At the state fair, I saw a cow with a hole in its side. The scientists put it there so we could see the digesting cud and what not. It was pretty gross, but it didn’t smell which kind of surprised me.
oh I heard about that sort of stuff.. They cut a hole through the cow’s skin then put a piece of plastic in it’s place so you can see a sideways view of it’s organs, heart, etc.

Hi. I am new-ish.
Bo is really an army of squids in disguise. The real Bo ran away to hawaii years ago. (This information came from a “reliable” source. (Kokopelli)).
you’re calling Kokopelli reliable?!?!!!! what has the world come to!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhh
He wasn’t calling Koko reliable, he was being sarcastic. Note the quotation marks around “reliable”. It’s a joke.
Unless Artemis Fowl two is a girl, in which case she was being sarcastic.
AF2 says that she is female but that we may call her Bob the Squid.
“Artemis” is a girl’s name–an ancient Greek goddess whom the Romans considered equivalent to their Diana. It’s still a common name in modern Greece. Strange that Eoin Colfer used it for a male character…
Eoin Colfer explained it in the third book when AF is doing his whole dramatic shpeel with the bad guy whats-his-name in the rival company’s building..
yeah, actually he did………..
So, what’s the scoop?
the scoop on what? oh and has anyone seen any of the posts I posted for kitten on here? I sort of forgot where I put them…
hemhem….
Sorry, the power went out before I finished that message. It was supposed to say, “So, what’s the scoop? I just assumed that EF had gotten confused with Artemus, which is a man’s name.”
Kitten’s messages are on “November Whatnot” and the “Happy Thanksgiving” thread.
Basically EC was saying that Artemis was usually a girls name after the goddess of hunting or something but when a guy was particualarily good at hunting he earned the right to use the name and then after saying all this AF goes all dramatic and says “I am the hunter. I hunted you” and then the fairies cover him with invisibility foil and all is good.
or something. It’s been about three years since I’ve read the books.
yeah. dramatic disappearance thingy. I think the point is that it’s the bad guys that laugh at his name, so don’t laugh at people’s names if you don’t want to end up as the bad guy and get hunted by army fairies and an insane genius guy with a girl’s name. Or something like that anyway.
moral of the story-don’t laugh at somebody’s name unless you’re absolutely sure that they don’t know any crazy ultra-technological fairies that will shoot you with their intimidatingly advanced technological sounding guns.
