Kagcomix (who else?) says:
“There are really awesome artists from North America and Europe who toil forever on seriously awesome comics. i’d just like to give them some recognition, y’know. I’m talking about comics from Oni Press and things like that, stuff that isn’t totaly branded (and there’s a lot of non-branded or little known stuff). so please GAPAs’, can we give it a try?”
There are already threads devoted to manga, so please stick to non-manga comics on this one.
Patience, Please
This site is under reconstruction and will look strange for a while. We regret the inconvenience.
yay! I love you GAPAs’!
Yay! I nominate Kagomix as an awesome artist.
sorry, I just wanted to snag the first post. Okay as some people may recall, one of my favrite artists is Bryan Lee O’Malley the author of Scott Pilgrim vol1-3(4comes out nov.7), Lost At Sea and worked on Hopless Savages vol2 ground Zero. he is soooo awesome. please check out his work! He is married to hope larson(gray horses) whose work has sooo much soul. I also adore Reina Telgemeir(what ever her last name is) who did the BSC comics. And Rebecca Kratz is way cool. (sorry, i’m trying to think of synonyms for awesome). I simply adore Mark Oakley, who self publishes his comics. and the guy who does scary go round is cool too.
gah! how could i forget chynna clugston, the reason i can draw? yes, i used to copy her drawings and then eventually used what i’d learend to create my style.
do webcomics count?
5- of course, if they’re seriously awesome
. but yeah, of course they count!
2- why does everyone forget the ‘c’ in my name????????????
EEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLFFFFFFFFFFFQQQUUUUUUUUESSSTTTTTT! Elfquestelfquestelfquestelfquest!
Who likes elfquest?
hee hee. bloom county. I’d put a webcomic I like/found here, but they swear too much…so forget it…
I like penny-arcade.
oh yes…most likely to inapproprate for most of you, but Ctrl-Alt-Del is definitely one of the best.
9- Bloom county is good.
8-bit theatre! Elfquest!
4 – I’ve heard of Chyanna Clugston. I think she wrote Queen Bee? I have that.
Haha, the only comic I read is The Umbrella Academy. Honestly, it’s amazing. Those of you who don’t want to read it ’cause it’s written by a famous singer, please give it a chance. It is really good.
I like xkcd, the webcomic of math, science, and romance. I love the disclaimer on the bottom too:
Warning: this comic occasionally contains strong language (which may be unsuitable for children), unusual humor (which may be unsuitable for adults), and advanced mathematics (which may be unsuitable for liberal-arts majors).
9- tell me!
13- she did, but she also did scooter girl (not for youngsters) and blue monday 1-4(also not for youngsters) and she participated in Hopeless-Savages ground zero
15- a web comic i like is 8- bit theatre, probly what gim is referring to. (they do have some weird subject matter, but its funny… i like fighter. “ILIKESWORDS!!!ILIKESWORDSS!!ILIKESWORDSS!! YAAAAAAYYY!!!”)
I read a lot of manga, quite a bit of Gonick (not just the Cartoon Histories either), and not nearly enough webcomics.
On the front of that last one:
DINOSAUR COMICS FTWWWWWWW.
I also like xkcd.
We did not invent the algorithm. The algorithm consistently finds Jesus. The algorithm killed Jeeves.
The algorithm is banned in China. The algorithm is from Jersey. The algorithm constantly finds Jesus.
This is not the algorithm. This is close.
I like Lenore (ok for weird children) Johnny the Homicidal Maniac (not for children) Filler Bunny (most assuredly not for children) and the nameless comics drawn by my friend Alan.
THE LOWDOWN: I’m totally obsessed with comicbook superheroes, and I think their powers are pretty awesome. Anyone else a fan of stuff like that?
HINTS: Batman, Superman, NOT SPIDERMAN!!! I DON’T LIKE MARVEL!! etc.
17- you read dinasaur comics by ryan north? I loooove them. t-rex is sooo funny. ryan north lives in toronto. all the cool poeple live in toronto.
19- *pies to infinity* MARVEL IS TE PWNAGE (or what ever) DC IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! ALL THE ORDINARY SUPER HEROS COME FROM DC! *screams of anger* HOW CAN YOU HATE MARVEL? STAN LEE IS THE AWESOMENEST ! HOWDARE YOU! HOW DARE YOU? DC WAS FIRST AND IT HAS ALL THE NORMAL HEROES WHO WEAR THEY”RE UNDERWEAR OUT SIDE OF THEIR SPANDEX BUT MARVEL, MARVEL REVOLUTIONIZED THE IDEA OF THE SUPERHERO. AND THE THING IS, THE VILLANS AREN”T ALL BAD. NOT ALL GOOD BUT NOT ALL BAD. EVERYONE PLAYS BOTH SIDES OF THE LAW ALOT BUT IN DC. IT COULDN”T BE THAT WAY, NOOOOOOOOOOO THEY HAVE TO DO THE EVIL VS. GOOD. HOW ORIGINAL IS THAT? NOT REALLY. NOW IF YOU CAN BACK UP WHY YOU THINK DC IS BETTER, PLEASE BE MY GUEST AND LET ME KNOW.
aaahhhh don’t let this thread die so soon!!!!!!!!!!
*dosn’t let this thread die*
I will guve this thread mouth-to-mouth recussitation.
I like Get Fuzzy, Calvin and Hobbes, and Dilbert.
My fave webcomics are ones about Maximum ride and Twilight. There are literally forty or so pages of each on deviantart dot com.
23- gr.7 was my obsetion with dilbert year. scott adams is truly amazing!
Boy Meets Boy by K. Sandra. i don’t know why i’m putting these up here if they’re so inappropriate, but they just rock, y’know?
anyone read Demo by Brian Wood and Becky Cloonen (who is absolutely awesome by the way)
10 0ut 0f 16 posts are mine.. oops 11 out of 27! *sigh*
Yeah, I’m a Calvin and Hobbs fan :).
TOPIC: WHICH IS BETTER MARVEL OR DC?
answer: Marvel of course!
Marvel for the most part, but Elfquest is DC.
Am l the only elfquest reader?
31- probably, i for one have never heard of it. the only thing i like from DC is teen titans.
am i the only one who loves the fact that this thread is called’seriouly awesome comics’ ? i mean honestly, what an awesome name. it totaly sounds like something i would say. anyways currently i am reading scary go round while clicking the refresh button hoping someone has posted on MB.
“Calvin and Hobbes”. Nuff said. Actually, not enough. It’s the coolest comic in the world! Someone was talking about the comic “Mutts” in the books thread because it was a parody of a good book, and I said I hated it. I hope i didn’t offend anybody who likes it…i sorry…
Marvel comics pwn.
I really enjoy “Opus” and “Zits.”
20- Listen- Marvel heroes are ALL THE SAME! I don’t wanna start an argument or anything, but they are all mutant freaks or whatever becasue of some gene passed on by the father’s whatever. DC hero’s have talent skill, and the most fabulous rogues gallery ever known. Marvel’s ok if you’re talkin about the classics, but….I gotta go with DC.
31- I know I don’t read it. Catchy title though…
32- Teen Titans is kinda a new version of some classics. The villains aren’t so great, BUT everything else pwns.
35- I love Zits!!
oh pwnage calvin and hobbes kicks butt.
29- DC KICKS MARVEL’S BUTT SO HARD, MARVEL WENT ALL THE WAY TO JUPITER WHERE IT BELONGS!! Sorry, Spidy, You’re cool.
Beavo, Misswan, I love you! Like no one likes Calvin and Hobbes anymore!! thankyouthanktouthankyouthankyou

36- HAH! and DC isn’t the same! look. DC was the conformist super heroes until MARVEL came along. don’t you talk to me about all the same. DC has all the lame characters-teen titans excluded- i mean honestly, underwear on the outside of your spandex. superman is a loser and so are all his enemies. and batman: honestly. don’t think you can win this argument. MARVEL was pretty fricken original back in the day. please do not lecture me on not beeing able to pick up much recent stuff. i mean honestly: Marrow, she is the pwn sharp bones growing out of her= awesome. DC IS SO LOSER!
39- dude,everyone likes calvin&hobbes
39- *looks mildly surprised* Uh, thanks, homefry. I return your love.
Does anyone here read Get Fuzzy? Pearls Before Swine?
41- i used to but it stoped being funny and quickly lost it’s soul.
Get Fuzzy’s gone downhill a bit recently, but it’s still had some high points.
Pearls Before Swine is so dumb it’s hilarious.
I think Opus really went downhill *Whoooooooooo-splash*
44- Yeah, I think it’s improved visually and decreased in its scintillating social satire. Bloom County was the opposite- marginal artistry but absolutely hilarious.
43- lt’s not dumb!
l think teen titans is stupid, and that elfquest is the only good DC. It’s not at all like other DCs in that its written by different people and that its not about superheros.
Wolf riders, Sun folk, Gliders, Go backs, Wave Dancers! w00t!
41- No, I only read a small variety of comics, but they all pwn.
46- Are you suggesting that superheroes are lame??? :O *looks shocked*
I took an online quiz, and I’m most like Superman!!! DADADADAAAA!!!
46- That wasn’t what I meant. It’s that the cartoonist makes it INTENTIONALLY dumb.
I took that quiz ad I am Spiderman. Yet I wanted to be MJ wth wings… ah well.
PEARLSBEFORE SWINE PWNS
50-Cool, Spiderman’s the only cool Marvel hero;i suppose who we are reflects which “brand(?)” dc or marvel), we side with… *growls*…
48- superman is lame!
51- marrow is the pwn!
You know what, Kagy?… Actually, Superman is kinda lame, Batman pwns, though.
53- I TOLD YOU!!!- actualy i won’t gloat that mush. batman is only sorta okay but he’s mostly a loser. robin is tres much cooler.
erg the villains in batman are LAME DOUBLEUNDERLINE!!!!!!!!! Spiderman pwns waaaaaaay more than batman.
Fantastic 4, anyone?
Webcomics: Questionable Content, ScaryGoRound, Order of the Stick, Chasing the Sunset (don’t read as often any more), 9th elsewhere (ditto), 8-bit theater (graphics sometimes get on my nerves)
Book comics: Calvin and Hobbes, Sandman
Newspaper comics: Pearls before swine, F minus, Candorville, Doonsbury
And no one said a thing about Bone yet? What is this? GO READ IT NOW. Jeff Smith. It’s funny and moving and cartoony and realistic.
I also like Pearls before Swine, C&H, Joe and Monkey(web), and the Phoenix Requiem (web), xkcd, and Chasing the Sunset. Come to think of it, I saw a familiar name somewhere on a CtS forum….
I have a whole folder on my browser full of links :’)
56- i looove scarygoround! i’m still reading the archives… i’m at the part where monty gets abducted by the pooka and the tentacle.
i officialy love xkcd.
54-He always pwned, but even more so when he went solo as “Nightwing”!!
60- yes. robin= yet another character i lurv.
57- bone rocks. Pearls be4 swine rocks.
61- Finally something we agree on in the field of comics.
I like “The Other Coast” by Adrian Raeside!
I hate Robin.
64- I’m not even gonna talk to you anymore….. *tries not to talk* I can’t help it! Gah!!! HOW DARE YOU????

[grins] JK, Homefry.
66-shutup! But honestly, why the ~!@#$%^&*(_+ don’t you like Robin?? Actually, don’t answer that;it’s pointless. Do you like Batman, Catwoman, or Penguin?? *adds a hopeful smile*
Catwoman is Ok… penguin is cheesy… and batman is cheesier… joker is cheesiest…and mostly batman in general is cheesy to the MAX.
67- whats with you and DC? DC is loser! seriously! you should take a lok at the indie comics scene. it’s way cooler than marvel or DC.
Exept for elfquest. You must read elfquest, you’d loveth it.
69- idk, I guess it seems more original. I still think all marvel characters r the same… whatever. I think I’ll go take out my anger about marvel on mr. joe.. *takes out his anger*
hehehe, i take out my anger on my brother.
Look. Can we say that marvel is superior at superhero comics, but DC has comics on more than just superheroes that are great?
Please look up elfquest.
(googling elfquest)
Ooh, Elfquest does look good. I’ll check on ebay or amazon or something for cheap copies. Vent on it when it arrives…
has anyone read Herman Vermin’s book?
can we stick to the topic, which I think is non-marvel, non-DC comics?
the man for aeiou, dissaprreing back into the shadows
I like
[Link zapped. Sorry MissSwann. We discourage external links. So I zapped — Rosanne]
They have good webcomics.
Speaking of awesome comics, old ag here is now a cartoonist!
79- dude! really! let me see your work! (as you probably know i haven’t been doing much lately because i am a lazy butt… but someday… i’ll be famouse
)
25 – yes, that’s definitely a very good webcomic. I’ve read my way through the archives since i discovered it about a month ago, but it’s assuredly inappropriate for small children. Teenagers oughta be okay with it, though. And for those who like BMB, there’s also Friendly Hostility by K. Sandra Fuhr. (Warning: a bit more questionable content in this one.)
80- l’ll try. l’m more of a tradional caartoonist than what you are. l’m inspired by life in hell.
82- could you tell me more? please?
Order of the Stick – I know it was mentioned before, but this is just to reinforce the messge: Google it!! Read it!! Laugh your head off at it!!
84- i couldn’t find the comic when i googled it. please could you give the adress but with spaces.
The Nancy Drew graphic novels from Papercutz are super cool!
86 – KaiYeves, whoever you are, this is a thread for Seriously Awesome Comix, not graphic novels. for those, go here.
Sorry, Drops of Jupiter. I’m new.
By the way, your handle is one of my absolute favorite songs!
Usually I dont read comics, but for Christmas I got a computer game called Sam and Max that is based on some old comics that have recently come back, about a dog and a bunny that are freelance police. Its awesome!!!
87- actualy i figured this could be for indie stuff, whatnot and things that aren’t manga.
Has anyone read doctor McNinja? ’tis humouros(sp???)
84- l was gonna return to Museblog, but that webcomic delayed me.
91-respond to the other posts…
meh. no one comes on here anymore *tear* so anyways. if you are reading this post: a really good webcomic is Gunnerkrigg Court. it’s about this english boarding school and there’s majic and mystery.
Oh wowzers, this thread is still up! I like X-Men.
On Sunday is our city’s ComiCon!! I’ve never been before, and I might be able to go! Looking forward to it..
As for reccomendations, Serenity Rose (which is in graphic novel form and then on Aaron Alexovich’s website). Yess.
18 – YESYESYESSSSS.
Hehehe. Oh gosh. I haven’t read any of them but I want to.
Lenore is fine, you say? Yes, I will look for that then.. Hehehe..
87 – But aren’t graphic novels technically comics? Or usually comics in collected form?
*crash lands in rocket* *rubs hands together, looking at the state of thread* Wow, this is really not my scene- yet. Not enough traffic. *brings out stereo* *punches ‘play’ button* *catchy music starts* ♪To put you back in sync, here is- ratatatatatata!- ZIIINC!♫ *pushes ‘stop’ button before it continues to ‘Teddy Bear Picnic’* *stops total and utter strangness eminating from me*
So, I’ve just read Fruits Basket. I love the concept of the Chinese Zodiac and all that.
I’ve also recently read the collection of ‘Runaways’ #1-18 from Marvel. I find it hilarious.
*fixes rocket* *flies away*
I heard about this on the suggestion box. So this looks cool!
Post here!!
Hello!
Can we talk about Get Fuzzy on this thread, as SilverLining requested, and also because I love Get Fuzzy?
Obviously: Raw Materials.
Yes, Raw Materials is officially my favorite Larry Gonick comic. *gasps are heard all around*
Actually, it’s mine too.
I don’t get Muse, though…
As far as webcomics go, xkcd is epic win.
I adore xkcd.
“Oh, hi; I’m here from the internet.”
What part?
The Blogipelago.
Technically, we’re a forum, although we run on blogging software… so what does that make us?
A blorum? A flog?
Anybody like the original X-men? Not the new kind?
I was a big fan when they first came out in the 1960s. I still have some of my old comic books. I’ll scan a few panels for the blog sometime.
Keiffer- Yep. I used to read all the old X-men comics and the whole X-men encyclopedia. I loved it. The newer stuff just gets super complicated… *coughalternateuniversescough*. I always found, in the new stuff, Professor Xavier’s twin sister who he killed at birth really, really terrorfying. My favorite X-men are Wolverine (I mea, who doesn’t like him)and Shadowcat. Who are yours?
Favorites? I have to say Cyclops and Professor Xavier. I think I’m only missing the last couple of the old comics, I need to beg my dad to by me them. Or Mr. Bacon Tattoo… *runs off to Comicazi* The new stuff is just plain old weird in my opinion. Go Original versions of things!
You guys like X-Men, too?
My favorites are Phoenix (Jean Grey) and Shadowcat.
Yes, the new stuff is very weird. Decimation?
Get Fuzzy = hilarious. I have three anthologies, and I fall to pieces laughing every time I reread them. Genius work. I don’t really read them in the paper (We only get the Sunday Globe), but my books are funny enough. I have to admit, though, most of the more recent strips that were in the papers weren’t really that good, but some of them are real gems.
103.2- Decimation? Absolutely.
105- In my fan-fics, it did not happen. Period.
It’s great to find somebody else to talk to about stuff like this.
Hasn’t anyone mentioned Asterix yet? *gasp*
Maths Lover- I am a big fan of French comics. I love love love them. I find when I read them in english my mind starts furiously translating them back into french.
Do you like Tintin?
So.
Uh.
Gunnerkrigg Court, anyone?
2o, po2oc (can ii call you oo?) you 2aiid iit would be a good iidea two move our dii2cu22iion over here. do you wii2h two contiinue? or wiill thii2 diie? don’t let iit diie, oo.
((Though this may simply become a discussion of Homestuck, which I’d be fine with))
I think we should simply cease with the typing quirks and discuss Homestuck in comprehensible English… I imagine that some of them might be difficult to moderate.
in before ebeth goes back over this entire thread and comments on everything
gonna do it in one fell swoop instead of nesting
10 – penny arcade is okay
11 – ctrl-alt-del used to be good but then it got boring and unfunny
17 – dinosaur comics is awesome
19 – my issue with spiderman is that while i love spidey, i can’t stand peter parker. and the marvel vs dc debate is really dumb
20 – all the “normal” heroes come from dc? if anything, i’d say it’s the opposite
23, 24 – i dislike dilbert. just don’t find it that funny. get fuzzy is fantastic though
28 – calvin and hobbes is the best thing
29 – pointless partisanship. disapprove.
51 – disagree! iron man, x-men, thor, there are plenty of great marvel superheroes
53 – yeah superman is pretty lame
54 – okay that’s just wrong. there is no way in which batman is a loser. and there is absolutely no conceivable universe in which robin is in any way cooler than batman. that’s just insanity.
55 – are you kidding? batman has some of the best villains in comic history! the joker’s character alone should be villain enough to completely refute that statement
56 – lizzie i agree with basically all of those
57 – bone is amazing. seriously, it’s great. plus, the author lives in columbus! the comic library at OSU has almost all of his original sketches/pages, i got to see some of them, it was really cool
58 – scarygoround was awesome
64 – yeah i dislike robin as well. he’s irritating. batman is awesome
69 – yes because clearly you can only enjoy marvel, dc, or indie comics. there’s no possible way to appreciate any mix of the three
84 – order of the stick is fantastic
96 – not exactly. there are collected volumes of comic books that look about the same, but technically a graphic novel is a complete story in comic form. it’s basically the difference between a television show and a movie.
108.1 – YES TINTIN
oops i should probably mention what i read/enjoy
webcomics: i’ve read basically all the major webcomics (and some of the more obscure ones) at various points, but the only ones i still stick with are dinosaur comics, xkcd, questionable content, and occasionally sam and fuzzy and wigu
comic books: in terms of superheroes i like x-men, batman, iron man, spiderman is okay sometimes (i don’t like peter parker)
other comic books/graphic novels i enjoy are bone, sandman, alan moore generally, scott pilgrim, the serenity comics, etc.
another fun fact about bone, a bunch of the characters appeared in a (pre-bone) comic strip written by smith that ran in my school newspaper (yeah OSU!)
Suddenly, thread is active. o_O
The webcomics I read (or have read, if they’re complete/on hiatus):
-A Softer World
-Buttercup Festival

You read Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff but not Homestuck? You do know that SBAHJ is an in universe comic for Homestuck?
Anyway, Stairs. I TOLD YOU MAN. I WARNED YOU ABOUT THEM.
I like SBAHJ but not Homestuck. So sue me.
Oddly, you’re not alone. One particular friend of mine is a huge fan of Problem Sleuth but can’t stand Homestuck.
There’s quite a large number of people who hate Homestuck and its, um, zealous fans. I wouldn’t say I feel that strongly about it, but I don’t care for it.
Oh god the fans. That was the number one reason my friends cited. Having visited the forums, I can understand where they’re coming from.
OH no, I’m not angry, I was just confused, thinking you might have stumbled upon SBAHJ by accident without ever encountering Homestuck.
Re: The fans- I tend to avoid forums. But we do know that Homestuck is one of the few fics where every possible pairing has not been explored. Why? There are nearly EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND possible pairings.
Take it from me that the fandom is racing to fill that gap with no regard whatsoever for sanity or moderation. There are fanfics out there that make you want to disinfect your monitor.
Here’s the best ever:
Vodka Mutini in Kismesis with Doc Scratch
Barack Obana <3 Feferi's lusus/ Speaker of the Vast Glub
Jack Noir as Moirail for Gramps
Crabdad acting as an Auspistice between WV and Doze (Who are in Kismesis)
And then there are those that just make you think “…why?”
*spits out coffee*
Vodka Mutini in kismesis with anyone would be the cutest thing ever, I think, though it would be slightly less disturbing if it was with an actual cat.
Vodka Mutini reached out a claw, in an attempt against Doc Scratch. Her claws, of course, did nothing to the omniscient superbeing that he was. Doc Scratch pulled out his water spritzer, and sprayed Vodka Mutini for being the bad cat he(?) was. Vodka Mutini lept on him, trying to scratch out Doc’s cueball face.
Then they kissed.
…I’m revoking your crackfic license, Enceladus. Please report to the Secretary of the Internet for correction.
(Hussie, what were you thinking? Did you give the shippers three new kinds of romance in an attempt to troll the entire Internet? Because it worked.)
Amazing Super Powers, anyone?
Piggy- you read… a lot of webcomics. Or maybe I just read rather few. But, yeah, the only two which I read regularly are Subnormality and xkcd. Oh and Raw Materials, too, of course. The artwork of Subnormality is just incredible. I think my favorite characters are the Time-Travelling Neo-Nazis. My fAvorite character from xkcd is, of course, the hat guy. I don’t read any comic books. I do enjoy comic strips, though, mainly Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes. I’ve got a collection of Peanuts- 1969-1970, I think- and the Authoritive and 10th anniversary collections of Calvin and Hobbes.
SATW, and Bad Machinery.
Aw yes, I love Bad Machinery! I really need to catch up on it, though…
re homestuck: when the pie did it become a big internet thing? i’ve been following ms paint adventures pretty much since the beginning and it had a small group of chill fans
and now, suddenly…what?
I wouldn’t know. By the time I started it, the TVtropes article was already like twenty pages, so I didn’t like it until well after it was cool (or uncool, depending on who you ask)…
EBETH ARE HIPSTER
YES BECAUSE CLEARLY I HATE MS PAINT ADVENTURES NOW THAT IT IS TOO MAINSTREEEEAM
no actually i’m happy it’s become so (deservingly) popular. i’m similar to hipsters in that i tend to be among the first to know about things and enjoy things that other people might not know about, but the difference is it makes me sad when awesome things are obscure and i try to share them with people rather than wait for them to hit and then brag
and re below comment – hmm, interesting. i guess i just never really felt like people talked about problem sleuth as much as homestuck
also, has anyone else played the bard one? that one was awesome
I was joking… EBETH ARE NOT ACTUALLY HIPSTER, EBETH ARE VALUED MEMBER OF COMMUNITY /hulkspeak
I tried Bard Quest, but I always got confused by the choose-your-own-adventure style.
(triple post) OK, I checked Google Insights, and “ms paint adventures” took a major spike in September 2008, which is about the time that Pickle Inspector was playing Wizard Sudoku with Death and Problem Sleuth was dueling Fluthlu. So the takeoff in popularity started before Homestuck, I guess.
OMG….THIS WHOLE COMMENT….I UNDERSTAND NONE OF IT
THIS HAPPENS SO INFREQUENTLY ON THE INTERNET THAT I FEEL THE NEED TO REMARK UPON IT
Shall I explain it, or do you want to bask in the glorious obfuscation for a while longer?
Oh my gooooddddddddd I LOVED THAT SEQUENCE IN IT. WIZARD SUDOKU FOREVERRRR.
I just started reading them recently, at the boyfriend’s suggestion. I finished Problem Sleuth like two days ago (after a month of reading). Just started Homestuck as well.
“Pose as a team. The world is real.”
*SINGLE MANLY TEAR OF BLACK LIQUID SORROW*
I tried reading Homestuck once, but I didn’t get past the “kid finding random objects in his room” before I got bored and left. Maybe I’ll give it another try … *don’tkillmeIhaverelativesinSydney*
Wait until act 2, it gets really awesome. Right now, act 4 is sending all of us into frenzies: us meaning, well, the fans.
End of Act 5 animation will be the next update.

It will take almost a month to draw/script/animate.
D:
(Helpful tip: If Cascade doesn’t load quickly, try youtube.)
So the latest Captain America movie has thrown me into the Avengers fandom, which is kind of the most amazing thing, because SUPERHEROES and TONY AND STEVE’S EPIC BROMANCE and CIVIL WAR and it’s Marvel so NOTHING IS CRACK. Is there anyone who wants to flail with me and/or tell me a good place to go spend all my
hard-earnedmoney on as many comic books as possible?Avengers is great. Secret agents, mutants, gods, genius inventors, aliens and robots… all on the same team!
I know! *flails* It’s so beautifully awesome and corny/serious depending on the occasion and ngh. I can’t wait for the movie.
And that’s just the main characters. Some of the minor folks like Tigra and The Black Night are so cool it’s a crime they aren’t better known.
(For the record, she’s a tigerwoman, and he’s a knight in armor who rides a flying horse and has a magical cursed sword.)
I just… Captain America. *shrugs* He may not have the most interesting powers or the coolest costume, but he’s still my favorite of all time, just because he’s so wonderfully interestingly idealistic and heroic.
I just got Civil War from the library, and actually cannot stop flailing at just how quality it is. So much quality. Such a heartbreaking bromance-divorce. I just want to cry and run around a lot and write fanfiction.
Oh, certainly. Cap was Marvel’s first real superhero (Sub-Mariner and the original Human Torch- who had nothing to do with the guy in the Fantastic Four who uses that name- came first, but they were more like anti-heroes.), and he’s still, in my opinion, their best team leader. You’ll get no complaint from me for thinking that he is one cool dude.
I was just saying that there’ve been a lot of Avengers over the years. Cap, Thor, and Iron Man have always been the headliners, I was just saying that there’s a rich history of cool characters who’ve been on the team beyond those superstars.
Of course! I’m just getting into the fandom, so my main interactions with the characters have been through fanfic and the two issues I got from the library (have you read 1602? ENDLESS FLAILING), which actually means I’m probably getting a bit more of the side characters than I would otherwise.
I’d heard of Tigra, but not the Black Night. I should really go
do responsible thingsread moar fanfiction until I can get my hands on more actual comics.1602 rocks. Just the premise is awesome.
Oh, and it’s The Black Knight. I made a typo before. *stares at feet guiltily*
It’s Neil Gaiman, of course it rocks.
NEIL GAIMAN NEIL GAIMAN NEIL GAIMAN NEIL GAIMAN
Can he just write Nick Fury forever, or…
Neil Gaiman? WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY FALAFEL?!?
Do you know what is an awesome company? VERTIGO! It’s AWESOME.
Sandman, Y:The Last Man, Fables, 100 Bullets, American Vampires, DMZ, Jack of Fables, Animal Man, Doom Patrol…
Yeah. Most of those are done though. Only ones still ongoing are Fables, American Vampires, and DMZ (until december).
DC over all is great. Green Lantern, Booster Gold, Flash, Old Kirby Stuff. Can’t wait for the new #1s in september.
I read old superhero comics from time to time (Mostly Marvel, such as Avengers, X-men, and Doctor Strange) I’m also a huge fan of the Moomintroll comic books by Tove Jansson (If you’ve never heard of them, investigate! Now! They are amazing) and anything by Speigelman. My webcomics are xkcd, digger, Order of the Stick, Girl genius (aka Agatha Heterodyne and the *Plot central object or character*) and Hyperbole and a Half (Which isn’t really a webcomic, but whatever)
Webcomics I read/have read, or some of them as I will doubtlessly forget a few:
– xkcd
– asofterworld
– Extra Ordinary
– Questionable Content
– Something Positive
– Girls with Slingshots
– Ctrl Alt Dlt
– Gunnerkrigg Court
– Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal
– Buttercup Festival
– MS Paint Adventures (Problem Sleuth, working on Homestuck)
– Hipster Hitler
– At the Heart of it All
– Buttersafe
– Cyanide and Happiness
– Three Word Phrase
– Scandinavia and the World
– Poorly Drawn Lines
uhh
yeah already blanking. There’s a lot I just read through all of and then forget about.
Ones I’ve bolded are ones that not a lot of people seem to have read that I really strongly recommend. ESPECIALLY Extra Ordinary, it’s one of my current big favourites.
Best comics/webcomics ever:
Calvin and Hobbes
Looking for Group
The recent xkcd strip “Missed Connections” referenced Doctor Who. Rainbow is happy.
Yesterday I started Problem Sleuth.
Yesterday I finished Problem Sleuth.

Wow. You’re really fast…
I love Homestuck. It is simply the best webcomic in the entire universe. I was Dave Strider for Halloween!
Thanks for reopening this, GAPAs!
Gonna second whoever had mentioned Bad Machinery up there! (the website this comic series is on is Scary Go Round, if some people are more familiar with that). It’s wonderful. I identify so much with Charlotte, and also Mildred.
Haha yes! Charlotte is the best.
Okay, Homestuck.
I finally started reading it because it’s pretty much all any of my friends talk about when they’re together, and I’m tired of not understanding a word they say.
Actually, I started ages ago, and I stopped really quickly because I got bored with just watching a boy going around and looking for funny things to do with objects, even though it was really obvious that other things were going to happen later that were really different.
I started it up again just now, though, and right now John and TentacleTherapist (who is pretty awesome) are playing Sburb… and I’m confused already.
It seems that playing a video game is moving around the actual objects in John’s house. Is that correct? Did I miss an explanation or a handwaving or something? Or is this one of those things everyone says will make sense later? It’s just that I’ve never heard anyone express confusion so early on.
*Sorry, tentacleTherapist with a lowercase t at the beginning. Although I actually just now finished Act 1, so I know her actual name now. And she is adorable.
…I think I’m much more likely to actually finish this than I was a minute ago; it clearly does get better.
You’re right! They’re playing a game that actually has effects in the real world. When she moves a bathtub on her screen, it moves the bathtub in his house!
But… but… As far as I remember, they didn’t even seem to think that was remotely weird. Is there something I’m missing?
Then again, they also store things on Captchalogue cards, and that was true even before they started playing Sburb. But still… That was established as how that universe seemed to work early on (although in retrospect, John seemed not to understand quite how it worked, which is odd–but maybe that was just him being clueless). This just seemed completely out-of-the-blue.
Thanks, by the way.
I spent a lot of time thinking that they were in some kind of Matrix-style universe at the beginning. I don’t think I stopped until POSSIBLE SPOILER I DON’T KNOW HOW FAR ARE YOU?
.
.
Nannasprite said the world had been destroyed. Of course, this wasn’t too much time in real life, since I basically powered through Act 1 all the way to the end of the Intermission in one night. There wasn’t a lot of time for speculation and theories to percolate through my head. That came after.
I didn’t read the spoiler because–well, actually, I read the first word, and I knew I wasn’t there–anyway, I’m not any farther than I was the last time I posted (really, really early in Act 2–I haven’t read past Rose’s walkthrough). Anyway, it’s good to know that apparently, there is an explanation…
Yeah, you’re just gonna have to go with it. Sburb is more than “just a game,” however corny that sounds.
Yeah, I try not to overthink it. It’s kind of a weird abstraction.
I have been reading a lot of webcomics lately…It started with Homestuck, back in September after that one convention, and then Problem Sleuth, and then I decided to reread Girl Genius, which I started a few years ago but couldn’t finish. Then came Digger, and this Spring Break I spent much of the week reading Drowtales, another series I had started, finished, but didn’t keep up with. Now I have a lot of comics to keep up with. It’s all good though. I like them.
Homestuck has actually been my primary fandom since late September/October of last year. By which I mean it’s the series I don’t go a day without checking for updates, theorizing about, or something. (Replacing Doctor Who, which had been the primary fandom since winter break last last year. Oh, rest of Season 7, when will you come out?)
I’m not sure whether you meant your last sentence in a longing way or a literal way; if the latter, the next episode premieres March 30th. (Aaand I’ve just seen some newly-released trailers and AHHHH thirteen days Is Eons Like Woah.)
I meant it both ways. Thanks for the info; I’ll have to go find those trailers.
I would love to jump on the Homestuck-posting bandwagon! But seeing as Bibliophile is just getting started,

I read the update about lepracaun romance and thought, Okay Hussie, now you’re just trolling with us.
NOW he’s just trolling us? He was messing with the fanbase a long time before this as well. It’s just that when you’re archive binging, the jokes don’t make as much of an impact on you.
“Archive bingeing” — is that anything like dumpster diving? Or maybe not…
Depends on the quality of the work and how much it improves over the course of the archive.
Well, it does take you to the lesser-traveled parts of the internet, and you do have to search through a lot of trash to find good stuff…
It’s actually a tvtropes term that rather accurately describes what you do when you spend ALL DAY trying to catch up on a long-running series, right down to the feeling of over-saturation, but it’s all so good and you can’t stop! You’re…binging on the archive…
Makes sense to me. That’s what I do with tv shows on Netflix Instant and the like. I just don’t even want to get involved with a story line I have to wait for. I make only rare exceptions these days, mostly for British shows (Doctor Who, of course) which also have the advantage of running for just a few eps at a time.

…It wasn’t Gamzee. At least I’m pretty sure. I’m betting it was Aranea because (a) the comic cut straight from her face to Karkat’s reaction and (b) in her dream-bubble introduction she offered to do it but Terezi turned her down.
Not sure what made her change her mind yet, but we should find out soon.

I don’t hate him exactly, I just don’t trust him at all. He keeps on popping up in places he shouldn’t…
At least Terezi isn’t dead. I saw that theory a lot when people speculated why she was hiding her eyes. But if we’re going by that as a measure of when the eye-healing occurred, then that means that she hasn’t been blind for a year now and nobody noticed till now? It’s been six kids stuck on a meteor passing through the occasional dreambubble but somehow they all manage to stay so ridiculously out of touch that even major things like this and romantic breakups go relatively unnoticed by their friends? I mean, from a meta point of view, they couldn’t find out what was happening between intermissions because then we wouldn’t know what was going on but still. That is a serious level of detachment right there.

Also, if Caliborn’s class and aspect is the Lord of Time does that make him a Time Lord? (And he wears a bow tie) And if Calliope is the Muse of Space does that make her Urania? (Although of course we mustn’t forget that Calliope was the name of one of the original Greek Muses).

How do we know it’s ending on 4/13? Is it just the act, or the whole comic?
Hm, I got the assumption that it was ending on 4/13. I don’t really know why. I actually rushed through act 5 so I could finish it in time to see it end. XD I can be a bit clueless.
I’ve been hearing that at school, so whether it’s true or not, I’m sure you didn’t just get that number out of nowhere.
4/13 has been significant throughout the comic. There are four 13 year olds, four and thirteen are unlucky numbers… I’m only in Act 4 but it keeps coming up.
Yeah, I knew it was significant (possible spoiler-y material: 413 is John’s birthday, the kids’ time zones somehow spell out 413, 4+1+3=8, the number of John’s patron troll, there’s a part in act 5 involving the money transfer of 413 boonbonds, 413=numerals of the blind prophets=Terezi’s typing quirk) but I’m not sure if the comic will end on 4/13. If it does, that’s around 3 weeks from now and unless he’s been making some monster hour-long flash on the side from making the regular updates I doubt it could be wrapped up that quickly.
I think Hussie said it’s going to end this year, but didn’t specify a date…
Yup, he said on the kickstarter page, “I’ll finish Homestuck sometime in 2013.”
On the other hand, he’s given earlier dates for the end of the comic, but always ended up pushing it back. I wouldn’t worry too much.

Rose’s drinking problems are starting to worry me. Okay, started to worry me a while ago and are continuing to worry me. Maybe she’ll decide to stop when she is reunited with Roxy? *worried face* On a lighter note, she and Kanaya are perfect for each other. But really. Rose was pretty much my favorite character and I’d hate to see her get a sad ending.
Also, I know the fanbase is pretty much one giant flame war when it comes to Vriska and some people hate her and some don’t, but… that speech. Oh my goodness, it was amazing, and I love her now, and if you think she’s awful for killing Tavros, helping along Bec’s prototyping leading to Bec Noir, etc, then… that’s cool. Just let me sit here. And re-read that speech. Because it was fantastic.
There must always be one drunk Lalonde.
STFP: I didn’t like Vriska the first time I read Homestuck, but then I realized that she’s my patron troll and gave her a second chance the second time around. And realized that she is amazing. Very confident in herself, and the murders really helped build her character and have doubts that were quickly resolved.
Spoilers etc below
Rose drinking because it makes her feel close to her (dead) mother is one of the saddest parts
and… I don’t think she and Kanaya are going to last. Everyone else has broken up pretty much and these panels feel like a lead-up to Kanaya ending things.
Also, I don’t know of anyone else is into the homestuck-music-videos made by fans, but Vriska-lovers should check outthe “Oh No, Vriska” one. It’s fabulous.
I could reccomend a lot of those kind of fan made vids though XD
Aha I have seen a lot of fan made videos and that was an excellent one. But yeah, all these relationships aren’t lasting and I was thinking the same thing. I wish they would stay together. But sadly, it seems that everything is falling apart.
You know, Vriska is awful. She’s done horrible things to a lot of people (Terezi, Tavros, and Aradia stand out but that’s just the tip of the iceberg) and she has always acted out of her own self-interest. She’s doing the same thing now. She has a lot of valid reasons for doing what she does, but that doesn’t make her a hero except in her own eyes.
That said, I love Vriska to death and am really curious about where this is going.
I love Vriska because she’s awful. And it took me two read-throughs to realize.

I don’t hink that it’s really a sad ending–it’s the moment when characters fall to their lowest depths right before they make an amazing comeback. Same with Terezi. Regarding Rose and Roxy–I think that’s really ironic and sad that Roxy cleaned up her problems with alcoholism in part to prepare for meeting her mom, and there Rose is developing alcoholism for practically the same reasons Roxy did. It’s a nice reflection, only we’re watching the process in reverse.
Also, given Kanaya’s expression in this past update, I think that ship might be ending soon. I mean, Kanaya admired Rose’s snark and witty banter. And now she’s actin like…like John did in during her first pesterlog with Rose, which we know didn’t impress Kanaya. I’m not super-attached to a lot of ships–I’m way more go with the flow of canon–but Hussie is just going out of his way to sink every single ship there is, and I think that anyone with a favorite pairing should just resign themselves to an inevitable breakup. .

It’s so sad to see it start to come to an end when for me, it only just began.
…so no more updates for a while, then?
I joined the fandom during the pre-Cascade hiatus, so I’m curious about what crazy thing it’s going to create to stave off the lack of updates this time. And maybe I’ll participate instead of just sitting in my chair giggling like a madwoman.
I am not involved in the fandom in anything more than a spectator capacity — what happened during the Cascade hiatus?
The Homestuck Anime, I think. I’m not really involved in it either, and wasn’t around for Cascade. I know that far shorter hiatuses of a week or so produced Ke$hastuck and Fandomstuck, though. So I’d expect another crazy, collaborative fan project this time around too.
I don’t know about that one, but the most notable thing that’s happened is probably that one time Homestuck didn’t update for a few weeks and the fandom started pretending that it was an anime and creating fake screenshots.
I just saw a guy in the cafeteria, casually eating dinner with his friends, in full-blown Dave cosplay.
One day into the hiatus, the fandom’s getting restless already.
No but seriously cosplaying in public is so much fun.
Did you talk to him at all? Please tell me you did.
Personally speaking, I feel like this was a good place for a hiatus. It had reached the point where I didn’t care which group of characters Hussie showed next, they were all bound to do something interesting.
…Maybe I meant worst place for a hiatus.
No, actually, it’s good because now my imagination will run wild. And so will everyone else’s. And we will get amazing fanworks from it.
I was actually really happy these past few updates, since I’m something of a Spades Slick fan.
I didn’t talk to him
And I doubt I could recognize him without it. The wig and glasses made him unidentifiable.
I want to do that…
I reeeallly want to cosplay but… first of all I have nowhere to cosplay/no one to cosplay with/ and also I would have to explain to my parents that I want to go out in public dressed up as a fictional character? But anyway. Yeah. Man, cosplay sonds awesome.
If there are any conventions in your area (there probably are) that’s a good place to start. They can be kinda expensive though, depending on when you register.
And if you don’t want to, you have no reason to justify cosplaying to anyone else. It’s something to do for fun! That’s really all the thought that needs to go into it.
I may not be totally unbiased about cosplaying in public though because I have reached the point where getting side-eyed by strangers is kinda amusing…

Wow, thre are a lot of super worrying theories concerning these past two upd8s. (WE’RE OFF OF HIATUS YAYYYYYY) most notably:
-At some point, John will die a heroic death (Doc Scratch said this at one point)
-Dave will also die a heroic death fighting LE and somehow erase himself from all timelines (as much as I hate this theory from the grounds of necer wamting dave to die, it makes a heck of a lot of sense and it’s been jeavily foreshadowed)
-Caliborn’s session will be scratched, and Calliope will dominate in the reboot
-It was once said that a glitch is the only way to kill LE, and since the special stardust caused the disc to glitch it will be his downfall
-Caliborn is Andrew Hussie (look at how his art has progressed! But in all reality I don’t think this is likely)
-John got away from Grimbark!Jade by doing the windy thing
-You fix a game cartridge by blowing on it so John’s going to do that
-Dave is working for LE *gasp* because in the feudal system a knight is right below a lord, and also he must have done sort of time thing since nobody actually told him what planet they were on. (Look at those pesterlogs. It doesn’t add up, so he’s LYING to all of his friends. For all we know, the Mayor’s not with him, either.

The thing about Dave is that he could just be a Future Dave. Time travel would be the simplest explanation for why he knows things he shouldn’t.
The Seer of Light’s words being obscured seems to be some kind of voidy thing. And after the alcoholism…Like, Rose’s information has this tendency to get obscured. She goes grimdark, she drinks, she suffers critical stardust failure, and her companions are kept in the dark. I actually want to go and go through the gif and transcribe what words of hers are legible, and try and get as much information as possible. (Also, we don’t know for sure that Terezi’s with her, if you’re not trusting Dave, since the information came to us second-hand.
I liked the flash with Jade, even though it was glitchy. It was cool animation.
Somebodh actually has decoded the entire thing, and in the next update Hussie didn’t even making a functioning chat log, which makes me think we weren’t actually meant to decode the glitched text.
SFTDP: Yeah, the weird memory blackout thing means there’s any nimber of reasons he could know things he shouldn’t- the main concern is why is he lying to his friends.
(Oh, and sorry for all the typos in these posts- I’m on a mobile device.)
Some elements of the Iceland character in Scandanavia and the World fit with him being home to Muse Academy (eccentric, mostly-friendly adventurer uninterested in romance whose behavior freaks out his friends), but others not so much (he claims to have killed his children for jumping on the bed and he collects, um, preserved reproductive organs.)

The Mayor? No, Jade, please, not the Mayor. You can’t do that to us!

Remember what happened last time we thought the Mayor was dead! And we’ve got a Hero of Life around (albeit one who’s serving the act’s most immediate baddie).
I find Dave’s reaction interesting — his “GET AWAY FROM HIM!” sounds genuinely panicked, not least because of capital letters and punctuation. WV’s been a joke/background character for so much of the comic, it’s hard to fathom the “main” characters having much emotional attachment to him, but it makes sense. Dave’s spent three years on a meteor full of horrendously damaged teenagers, relationship drama, and existential dread. The amiable, idealistic Mayor might be one of the few close friends he has.

The Mayor’s actually served a fairly important purpose in the comic, by bringing people together with friendship. It’s likely that Dave confided in the Mayor more than anyone else. After the last upd8 (in which he saved the Mayor) that became even more clear than it already was. However, going off of what Jade said on Lofaf right before Karkat got stabbed, Life powers only work once on somebody, and VW’s revival the first time was from a dead Witch Of Life Feferi. So that’s already two characters (WV and Karkat) that have used up their extra life.
I was really mad about today’s upd8, though. We’d waited so long for that Strider reunion, and the stardust ruined it.

Jade and Dave’s conversation just about broke my heart. Dave I just AUGH and then on top of that she’s using the Mayor to get him to fight her and he doesn’t want to fight, he’s given up, he’s given up time travel because it only ends in death, and Jade was sad about her breakup with Davesprite but she thought he was better off without her but what even went up with those two? And then she shouts “YOU BROKE MY HEART!” and then Dave was doing his whole not-a-hero schtick and I had to take deep breaths to calm down.
I don’t think the Mayor’s gonna die, though. Look at how far he and Can Town have come, and Dave would never EVER let the Mayor die.
Every upd8 from now till the end is going to give me emotional whiplash.
Well, I finally caught up on Homestuck.
I forgot about that! I meant to finish it over the summer so that I would not be totally lost when all my friends made constant references to it at school (and also because I like it!), but Adventure Time and Star Trek got in the way… and now I only have a week and a half of summer left.
And I don’t even remember what happened in the last section I read.
And in that week and a half, I have to read up on water quality monitoring and take notes and learn to identify local insects well enough to lead tours on them during the school year, and learn even more about aquatic ones because of the water monitoring thing, and figure out approximately what to say when I start giving kids tours anyway. That, or do it during the schoolyear when I have homework.
Oops.
But congratulations on finishing it yourself! That’s great!
Hooray!

I won’t spoil exactly who it was, even under vigorous spoiler headings, but holy cake. The person who got the Ring of Life was probably tied for last (with all the A1 trolls) in my speculation. Jeez. I gotta… I gotta rest for a bit. Big twists like this (along with blatant GRRM foreshadowing) always make my brain explode. I can’t think right now.
Also Gamzee had the ring on Rose’s pillow. Either it got to the Furthest Ring through shenanigans, or he managed to project it along with his dream projection. Anyway, Rose’s pillow is clearly the most important thing about this update. *coughs*
Again, what the cake. What is this person-who-shall-not-be-named planning? Aaargh I want to know! They are also a poor substitute for Vriska. Just sayin’.

I’m pretty furious at her at the moment, yeah. And also very surprised, but at the same time, we saw that the pre-scratch trolls’ SGRUB window logo was…. her color. So that was a shocker.
Rose had the pillow with her on LOLAR and she’s had it for three years because it’s all she has left of her mother. It was the most important part o the upd8.
But yeah. Things are escal8ing quite quickly.

I was really upset about what happened with Jade, and oh my gosh Dave’s reaction to it just about broke my heart.
I went to a Homestuck meetup for the first time yesterday!
Listening to “At the Price of Oblivion” makes me really wish the Grimdark Rose/Ancestral Vriska/Jack fight flash had been made. Hussie said it would have been too complicated, but I don’t know… It almost certainly would have used the rest of that track.
During this gigapause, I’ve been listening through the music and wondering which tracks will be used in endgame flashes. I can’t wait to hear the music and see how it fits in with the animations.
With today’s update David Troupes has announced that he is bringing Buttercup Festival Series 2 to an end. This webcomic has had a big influence on me and I’m really sad to see it go. I spent a large amount of my hard-earned money on the Kickstarter for his “Renaming of the Birds” book, and when I get the pledge rewards I know that the Buttercup Festival original artwork will become one of my dearest possessions. I think Troupes is my favorite living artist in any medium–it’s going to be hard for me to not see new work by him every two weeks.
I just got an email from David–he says I’ll be getting the original of my first choice, comic number 15. I love this comic so much I bought a print of it a couple years ago; it’s gonna be so cool to have the original itself!
A late Christmas present–today the rewards mentioned above (except for the original, which he says he’s shipped separately) arrived in the mail today.
-Two sets of postcards (including a note for me; one set is signed and numbered 129/1000)
–Renaming of the Birds, the semi-children’s book this Kickstarter was for (signed)
–The Fountain (a chapbook of uncollected poems and sketches he wrote while putting together Renaming of the Birds, signed and numbered 55/200)
–The Simple Men, a book of poems, of which I already had one copy (signed)
–Parsimony, his earlier book of poems, signed and with handwritten notes, explanations, and backgrounds on each poem
I hope the original artwork will get here soon, but until then I’m adoring Parsimony. It’s so cool to have the poet’s own annotations, like These repetitions of “for you” are another reference to Steven’s “Rabbit as King of Ghosts” which is in turn I believe a reference to an essay by Emerson… and Loving a single person, male or female, in a sense becomes loving all the world, including the sprawling, deadly non-human world and The bird really did this as I watched. Must have been a messy meal. and Both “Wolves” and this poem are failures to me, in retrospect. Treasured memories, but I feel like I only scratched the surface. and One of my favorites.
These are the same kinds of thoughts that arise when I write poetry. It’s interesting to follow his train of thought along the same tracks that mine travels on.
The Ava’s Demon author posted a while back that she’s looking for exciting, fast-paced songs for her next end-of-chapter video. I really wish my music sounded more professional grade; that would be so much fun. Webcomic and video game soundtracks are a big part of what inspired me to write music in the first place. By the time my music skills improve enough to be used in something of that caliber (The last song used was by one of the Homestuck musicians! Cool internet musicians!) then she’ll probably have an already-established music team. Ah well. At least I’m still working towards music making, and I’m writing a video game soundtrack for my school’s game dev club. That’s something, right?
Happy April 13, 2014, everyone.
