KaiYves has asked us to repost this piece of classic MuseBlogiana. Great idea, Kai!
Back in April 2008, UberMuser Grant O. sent us some sound files of narration for a proposed slideshow about ways to survive winter. He called it “Staving Off January.”
Before we knew it, Midnight Fiddler had drawn up some storyboards, and a New Zealand MBer named Zoe (who then went by Treble_Cone_Freeskier) turned them into a real multimedia presentation.
Here it is, to help you get through the rest of the winter:
:D. That is all I have to say.
I can’t believe this is four years old. It’s just as funny as the day it first appeared.
Another New Zealand MBer??
Yes. There have been three: Zoe, Sam/Elwing, and you.
Maths Lover moved to New Zealand?
Oh, wait. She’s on that big island to the west, isn’t she?
We also have at least one New Zealander by birth now in exile.
America is my Elba.
But not your St. Helena.
These metaphors are the best.
Hopefully not.
Now that I’ve recovered from my uncontrollable laughter…
We need more blogjects.
I just made that word up. So awesome, right!
I just showed this to my roommate. She is still reeling in shock from the sheer awesomeness of you people.
As soon as I can convert this to a format my computer can understand I am sure I will be laughing quite a bit! I only ever heard grant’s voice-only one before, but it was still great.
Hah! Past me in that moment is immortal!
The most difficult part about recording that was getting The Hustle to play at the right time and volume.
