51 PAGES! I need to get to 68 in the next four days, though. My average page count per day is 3.9. Ulp. It used to be way up at 6.
Wait, I think I did my math wrong. Um. Let’s just say, I’m going to miss four days, so I need to get my page count UP in the near future.
I feel failure-ific. Speed writing (particularly scripts) isn’t my thing. *makes one last feeble attempt to justify self* I have a pretty high word count, but my page count just isn’t moving. Partially due to my history paper and partially due to my indolence. Ah well. 75 would still be great…*trails off* For all you valiant souls who can make it to 100, rock on! I would have succeeded were it still a WoCo contest as my WoCo is now approximately 9k, but…*trails off again* *feels like a failure*
nearing 78. I wish I didn’t have this cold.
3- I have 9331.
3- You’re not giving up, are you!?!?
I gave up last year. It was miserable.
Ah, I have fifty pages.
It would be more, but my friend from CA sent me part of a storyboard he did for my script so of course I had to look over it.
80! w00t! I pwn Screnzy!
8- nice!
wow. eight posts already?
10- why is that odd?
7, 8 – Stop making me jealous.
Wow! TMFA, I have practically the same WoCo as you, but half the pages. My script is awfuly messed up, I suppouse.
Naw, I am not really quitting. I am just taking a break, until my history paper is finished.
10- abuh?
13 – Maybe you’re just not doing the formatting right or something like that.
12-You jealous! *pies Cat’s Meow* You are doing so well!
16 – Yeah, I did great for the first week, but now I’ve gotten 4 pages in 5 days. ._.
83.
Ah-ha! I have kind of reached an intermission-y kind of place, where the sidekick of the protagonist escapes the underground lair with Katie, the hero’s sidekick. Anyway, I think I’m going to jump forward about five or six years, after Operation Paranoia has succeeded and my protagonist is comfortably settled as a world overlord. Then Katie and the ex-sidekick lead a rebellion and challenge the protagonist (whose name is Val).
Nasty comments will ensue. Then something undefined will happen, and hopefully the movie will end with something resembling a beginning, middle, and end.
:idea:TNÖ:idea:
15-*contemplates* A very good point! But as I happen to be indolent, I think I’ll just chortle slowly along and…lose.
85!
Uh-huh, Uh-Huh, Uh-Huh-Huh-uh Huh.
w00t!
pwns!
I’m going to win!
YEH!
15 more!
Less then a page a day!
I’m writing on sunshine…
*is to happy for my good*
Calm down!
but 85! in 13 days!
W00T!
WOOT
^^00T
VV00T
vv00t!
~~~
Sorry.
very nice, TMFA.
22- *pies*
It’s up to you to decide whether that was a pie of congratulations or a pie to calm you down.
87.
whoop whoop! My protagonist has officially taken over the world! and now she is known as the Overlord! and she lives in a citadel of doom!
*diabolic laughter*
26- Sounds fun.
I’ve broken the fourth wall. I’m currently sitting on a couch in the barren wilderness talking to my characters about the fact that they are meeting the author of their story.
27- that’s always fun. isn’t fun?
I just hit ninety.
28. The bad news is I probably won’t finish. The good news is I got 8 pages today and I finally am getting somewhere with my script. Oh well. I’m not even doing it officially.
Wow. Dedication! I’m impressed.
yeah, 94 pages. This is so much better than NaNoWriMo.
The only thing I hate writing about in scripts are the stage directions. In a novel, you can just say what happens, and how to say it, but the script writing is so much simpler. No big awesome sexy words.
Until my history is finished my script has receeded to lesser importance. I still hope for 75 though. *hopes vehemently*
95+
35-You could prbably make it to 200, you know. Thats quite awesome!
36- I know! I’m at the climax right now!
oh, and 97 pages.
Won! Just passed 101 pages…
Congratulations, TMFA! Are you near the end of the storyline?
Congrats! I would that I were near as thou.
Wow! Congratulations, TMFA!
I’ve got WASL today (Ugh, ugh) but the good news is that when I’m done with my test I’m going to be able to work on my Screnzy. I’m hoping to finish by the end of WASL testing.
40- yes. maybe 2 to 4 page to go to the end.
My villains are getting married! :cries:
there both twenty right now. they share the same birthday (Indeed, all the kids in this film share a birthday, Jan. 1st 2000, at 12:00 midnight.
Now my heros!
FADE OUT:
Ah.
*Does Happy Dance*
I so happy…
46 – *clapclapclapclapclap*
I NEED PIE!
*pies TMFA*
49- thank you!
*pies TMFA*
I got to 42 pages today. Which means I wrote 14 pages today. I’m done writing the first act, but I might be able to cajole it into being longer.
I MUST NOT FAIL.
But homework takes precedence, and I have far too much of it to ignore.
52- were are you at?
53- Not sure. *runs off to check* 56 pages. Not bad, if you ignore the fact that I won’t have time to write until next week.
I wrote 9 handwritten pages after I finished the WASL today. My best estimates put that at 4-5 typed pages, so if I do this every day for the next 2 weeks…I could hypothetically finish.
Oops. I haven’t been here in a while. WHat is CAts Meow doing?
*looks at thread*
Oops. Cats Meow isn’t even here. Where could she be?
56 – Vocalization of Feline is Cat’s Meow.
I got to 55 pages today. *does a happy I might actually finish dance*
27- I did that! Except I was typing on my laptop about it, on an empty stage. Every other or third scene takes place with me on the blank stage. Jadestone and Glassboro also have roles, albeit more minor ones.
I have to type 30 or so pages from my physical notebook into the computer for page count purposes and as a backup. Counting each 2 pages in the notebook as one in compy, I have 53 pages, but it’s probably slightly over that.
56 – Cat’s Meow = Volcaization of Feline
I wrote a few more handwritten pages after the WASL today. I just hope I can finish.
Lucky me, my teachers seem to have quit trying to restrain the freshman class entirely so we don’t have any homework! Mwah ha!
Procrastination will continue to strike without mercy, however.
OMG! I totally missed that!
50 – Welcome.
Wow. My fanfic is five pages long.
I am making no progress lately. At all.
printing for Reading. and editing.
TMFA, please to send yours in.
65- I would like to, But I want to Edit it and sell it, and in 2010 or so see it in a theater.
66 – Ohhh.
POSOC, why aren’t you doing Screnzy?
67- why do you do that? it’s GOOD! Mostly harmless spreadith.
66- Oooh! Good luck!
68- Because I don’t have any vacation during April, so I wouldn’t have any time. I am doing NaNoWriMo this year, though. Watch for Windhenge, coming to the blog in December 2008.
69 – Yeah, true. But I’d still like to read it.
70 – Oh, okay. And I can’t wait for Windhenge, because I’m sure it will be awesome.
I’m at almost 67 pages.
Ink is a hilarious character now. He’s suicidal, and it’s really funny, because he thinks he’s going to die, and he’s all happy about it, but he ends up at the H&H instead, and is told that now he is immortal and will never die.
I have 71 1/2 pages.
Almost 10 pages above quota!
I dived total page count on SF (79,065) by the nume of people (7,788) and the advrige page count is just more then ten.
74 – Oh, wow. That’s kind of sad.
I’ve started a new script. 3!
Wow. I don’t know know you guys could possibly write that much, that fast! I mean, I been writing a novel formabout….. hmmmmm….. how long has it been now? *thinks a long ways back* Almost 3 years. And I’m still not done. I’m maybe 2/3 of the way through…….
77- We know that the first draft is BAD! So we don’t spend much time on it.
OH, NO. I’ve got to work. Now.
79 – Yeah, so do I. I tend to not work at all for 5 days and then write 15 pages in one day.
I’m not going to be sad as long as I get over 80 pages and I reach the end of my story. Having decided that takes a lot of pressure off. I’ll still try for 100, of course, but if I’m not going to make it, I’ll just finish up the story and then I won’t feel all depressed that I didn’t make it.
is any one still going for a 100?
82 – I am. I’m at 71.
83- Good for You! 5 pages a day to win!
84 – Yeah, but, honestly, it’s going to be more like 0 pages most days and 15 for the others.
I’m at 74 1/2 pages now!
But I have to get off.
Oh well. At least I made progress today.
Ah I’ve been stuck at like sixty for days now but I finally got an idea so I’m off to write! Later, all.
I am still stuck at 75 pages. I have no idea how I’m going to finish this thing in 3 days…that’s 8 1/3 pages a day!
88- I’m at 62 pages. No way can I make it. I might be able to finish the storyline though if I work hard today.
89 – You can definitely still make it, although it would be pretty hard. I’m already up to 79 pages now, and I’m hoping to make it to 87 by the end of the day.
You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it! 90- I’ll probably finish the movie and then use the remaining twenty pages or whatever sitting in the credits chatting with the characters, because it’s always fun to talk to my characters. Maybe I’ll merge with Libby…that’s be fun. (Libby = very talkative enthusiastic librarian.)
92 – Oh, that sounds fun.
I’m on the card game scene right now, which is actually incredibly boring to write. BUT, I’m at 82 pages.
I’m at 92 pages now, which is above quota for today, and makes me very confident that I’m going to finish in the next few days. Hurrah! -runs off to save backup copy just in case-
94-8 more!
I’m at 71 pages. *urk* But now I just have to take up 29 pages with randomness.
91- thanks for that.
I just hit 80 pages – a bit less than 10 pages a day. I know I can do this, since I am writing at a rate of about two pages an hour. Also, I am at a rather exciting point where the protagonist and her sidekick encounter a crazy arsonist and his robot kangaroo, who occasionally spouts randomly generated sentences (yay for dashboard widgets!). Good luck, y’all.
ASDLAJWOEIUQWELAUWEAWA.
Darn homework.
I’m at 93 1/2 pages! And I’m at this really horribly morbid scene where Ink has volunteered to die, and Canix, who has grown attached to him, is really upset about it, and Ink is reassuring him. And all of Ink’s lines are in poetry, as always, so it’s so emotional and sappy and sad all at the same time.
Who is Ink? I’d like to know, if I’m getting attached to him.
Ink is this little blue kitten-like creature whose family was killed ages ago by Sir Bunny, and so he’s always talking about wanting to die so he can join his family on the other side. To put it bluntly, he’s this little suicidal kitten, who you carried around in your pocket for 20 pages and saved him from dying several times. Oh, and every single one of his lines rhmyes. And now he’s going to sacrifice himself so that we can all go home, and everyone’s upset about it. But for you most of all, because he followed you around for 20 pages.
My story is very strange.
101- Aw. Poor Ink. *sniffle*
In my script, Ink is an old man with a spell on him.
102 – He’s miserable all the time, and it’s so sad it’s funny.
When he found out that he could die, he was literally cheering out loud. It’s pretty disturbing, to tell the truth.
WUNG BUTTONS!!! CAKE!!! I need TWENTY-THREE PAGES before tomorrow! And I have so much homework… I’ll never make it. I should never have tried to do this long ending-thing… I would have felt all right about losing before, but I had to decide that I could do it after all, didn’t I?
In my script, Ink is a used rocket salesman. with a talking kangaroo.
104 – You can do it! You can do it!
OK, so guys, this is my little scheme. This is the background:
Alice
I’ll never make it… I only have one more day. And there’s so much homework…
Sasha
Oh…
Alice
What’s the point? I’ve stuck with it for TWENTY-NINE days, and here I am with 23 pages and 1 day left. I’ll never do it.
Geoffrey
I’m sure you can do it, Alice.
Alice
You’re a figment of my imagination. I’m just making you say that because I feel in need of some encouragement.
Peter
So we don’t have any free will? Is that what you’re saying?
Alice
You’re my characters, you’re in my head. You might as well be me, my different personalities. You have as much free will as I do, but it’s my free will, and your ancestors’ free will, and your pet cat’s free will, as well as yours.
Geoffrey
Very profound.
Peter
That isn’t FAIR! I can’t say anything that you haven’t decided I’ll say. It’s stupid!
Alice
I quite agree. I wouldn’t mind having a conversation that I couldn’t predict every word of, myself.
Sasha
We ought to do something about it! Surely there’s something weird we can do that’ll free us from Alice’s control.
Alice
I could make something up, but it wouldn’t kind of defeat the point, wouldn’t it?
Sasha
Just a little.
Zwilling
Concrete.
Alice
That’s IT!
Sasha
All he said was, “I can’t think of anything.”
Alice
No, that’s not what I mean. Zwilling is the character I control least, since everything he says comes from a random word generator. So he must hold the key.
Geoffrey
Hmm…
Peter
Uhhhhhh…
Sasha
Mm…maybe…no…
Alice
(tapping her fingers on her keyboard)
I’ll ask the MuseBloggers.
Peter
The whats?
Alice
MuseBloggers. My friends.
She types for a frenzied minute or two.
I haven’t got any further than that, because I’m actually asking you. There’s my dilemma. Any ideas?
Why does everyone have a character named Ink? Is there a pact I don’t know about?
108- It was a Dare, like for nanowrimo.
108- Yup. We gave each dares to inspire more writing. Like having a character that talks in rhyme, a character named Ink, an electric kangaroo that can only speak words generated by random word generators, a sword fight, and a chocolate bar flying through the window.
107 – Um…make hot pink bunnies appear or something. Or maybe have your characters play some game like Truth or Dare. That would be amusing.
108 – When we all had writer’s block we came up with a bunch of dares that we’d all try to include. One was a character named Ink that rhymes all the time. It’s sort of like how for NaNo everyone tried to include a hot pink bunny somewhere in their NaNo.
107- Sorry, nope. Perhaps, to boost your word count, you could have us randomly pop in and out of the scene and offer suggestions.
111- Not quite what I meant, but that does take me off on a tangent that’ll add to my page count, so thanks. I was more asking if any of you had any ideas about what to do to free them from my control (fictionally of course, as long as I’m writing it it’s under my control.)
112- Ooh, could I? No one would object?
113 – Ohhhhhhhhh. Sorry. You could just have them rebel, and start arguing with you or something.
114 – Nope, not at all! People are much more likely to object to mine, since my characters aren’t much like the people who really represent them by the end of the script.
Speaking of pages, I’m at 99 PAGES!!!
115- Really?
113- Oh, that’s what you meant? Have them find an ancient artifact that allows them all to swap consciousnesses with you. So your poor spirit is parceled out between three different characters, and you’re awfully clumsy, since you can’t control three bodies at the same time. Meanwhile, all three of them are in control of different parts of your brain, and since you’re the writer, they now control the script. They’re all trying to write and control the story, but they start arguing about the plotline and the conflict escalates. Then Opal comes into your room and sees you lying on the floor, twitching spasmodically, and debating loudly with yourself in three different voices.
114- Fine with me.
115- Go! Go! Go!
85 pages!!! I just have to write really fast all night long, ignore my homework, and I might make it! Or I could discuss my homework with them…
EXACTLY 100 PAGES! I BEAT SCRENZY! I BEAT SCRENZY! ^_^
What’s more, my plot is actually over. It ended right on the very last line of the 100th page.
-dances-
*pies all the wonderful succesfull screnziers* That’s absolutely flamambablous!
My grand total is 36 pages. Ah well! I’m not bitter.
89 pages! Only eleven more! I betcha I can finish tonight.
117- That made me laugh.
OPAL
What’s going on? Alice is twitching spasmodically? I know how to cure her!
OPAL runs to stereo and turns it on. ALICE twitches more.
That’s a really good idea. I just have to think of a good way to incorporate it, or rather, a good way to introduce it.
Oh, sucks to a good way to introduce it. It’s SCRENZY. *runs off8
119- Congratulations! What flavor of pie do you prefer? This question is also directed at TMFA, since I forgot to pie him when he finished it.
121 – You can do it! You can do it! You can do it!
I printed out my winner’s certificate, and I’m going to take it to school tomorrow and brag to everybody. And I put it in my signature on this other forum I go on. Even though absolutely nobody is going to care.
122 – Pumpkin, if you please.
Wait, I’m horribly confused. I have to write this down quick.
My body is occupied by the minds of Sasha, Peter, Geoffrey, and Zwilling, who know have complete control over the story. And my mind is divided between the bodies of Sasha, Peter, Geoffrey, and Zwilling, one of which is a giant and one of which is an electric kangaroo. This results in everyone stumbling a great deal.
124- *lock and load pastry cannon* Eat sweet, spicy, orange filling! Congrats!
125 – Yeah, that sounds about right.
125- And Sasha, Peter, Geoffrey and Zwilling all have different ideas about how the story ought to progress.
128- Oh, dearie me.
Eight pages to go!
Six more pages! And 35 minutes till bedtime. That’s a page in five minutes. I can’t write that fast, and I need to do my homework. I’ll finish tomorrow. We can still write tomorrow, right?
I worked on my script instead of homework. I can’t believe it. *hits self in the head with health textbook*
‘Grads Cat’s Meow!
Yes, congratulations! You have to send in your script when all is done. *pies*
132 – Thanks.
133 – Yeah, I will, even though it’s really bad. ._.
I FINISHED!!! I FINISHED!!! I FINISHED!!!
I’m done! 101 pages… Although it did get a bit odd towards the end… “Sacred Zucchini”
I still need a title, though.
135 – YAAAAAAY! -highfives Alice-
136 – YAAAAAY! -high fives TNÖ too-
Now I just need to edit it…somehow. It looks like I’ll be copying and pasting 100 pages from a PDF into Appleworks.
To quote my script…
Confetti and balloons suddenly fall from the ceiling.
EVERYONE
HUZZAH!!!
But seriously, does anyone know a way to get it into a word processing document?
131- Eh, who wants to look at pictures of internal organs, anyway?
135/136- Woot! Nice job. Thats utterly flamambablous!
140- I don’t know, I did mine completely in Pages because it formatted it automatically.
The last line in my script:
MYSTERIOUS V.O.
And so, the story ended. Our three heros, having averted a war between the empire of the Overlord and the followers of the O.M.F.O., proceeded to form a triumvirate and went bowling.
*pies all.*
sorry about H, thou.
Sent it in.
140- nope, sorry.
145- Yeah!
For some odd reason I decided to call my script “Sasha Samte and the Eye of the Jalapeno,” and now I’m regretting it. If the GAPAs could refrain from posting it just yet, I’ll send a new version with a better name.
Mindless word association will get you nowhere.
I still need a title, if any one has any ideas.
Think, sort of kind of comedy / random act of weirdness that is unique to MBers, involving a protagonist who wants to take over the world (and does so in the second half of the movie). One of her sidekicks joins up with a super hero’s ex-sidekick and together they fight against the protagonist. Then, one of the lower rebels who was himself an evil megalomaniac decides to take his robot, named Kangaroo, and rebel against Rebellion (real imaginative name, huh?). Anyhoo, the protagonist and her second-in-command have a run in with the rebel of Rebellion and Kangaroo. Kangaroo ends up forming a triumvirate with the other two and the rebel is thrown in jail for burning down three thirds of the Forest of Uz. Kangaroo predicts that the other two will peel zucchini, thus bringing disaster. The triumvirate encounter the protagonist’s mother, who makes lunch with some zucchini, and two yellow men, Poiu and Xop, who are questing for the Sacred Zucchini so the OMFO (Only Maker of Fluffy Omelets) can serve the long-foretold of Fluffiest Omelet alongside the Sacred Zucchini. The protagonist gladly gives up the Sacred Zucchini, much to the disappointment of the yellow men, so Kangaroo gives them some marbles to battle so they can go home with something resembling a decent story to tell their fellows.
Kangaroo then explains to the other two that they averted disaster by not peeling the Sacred Zucchini, which would have destroyed its sacred-ness and given the yellow men no choice but to declare war on the earth.
Thus ends the movie.
So, any title ideas?
150- “The Zucchini Triumvirate: A Tale of Courage, Tragedy and Kangaroo Robots.”
“The Courgette of Courage.”
So who-all’s sent their script in? When will we get to read them?
153 – I haven’t sent mine in yet, but I will in a second. GAPAs, can you post PDFs or does it have to be in a certain format?
When will the scripts be posted? *is an impatient grasshopper* Sorry. I know you have busy lives.
155- You used my body-switching idea, right?
156- Yup. It was great fun.
157- Did Opal make an appearance? I’d like to see that sequence as soon as possible.
158- She did not. I’m sorry. I couldn’t think a good way to put it in, and at that point, I was eager to end the story ASAP. Sorry. I could put her in the edit if I make one.
159- No, that’s fine. I’m happy you used my idea.
(155) Alice’s script is now available on Google Documents. You can see it by clicking here.
161- I just get a login page.
(155) Sorry for the delay, Alice, we were waiting to see if anyone else was planning to send a script so we’d know what to set up.
(154) I can open a PDF, but I’ll have to convert it to a text file, anyway.
161 – You need to make it so that it’s visible to everyone. When I go to it, I get a login page, and when I log in I get a link that tells me to request access to it.
163 – Okay, I’ll just send it.
I can access Alice’s script now!
Oh, and I e-mailed my own Screnzy in as well. Just to make sure, it’s gapa, not gapas, right? (In the e-mail address)
(162, 164) Sorry! I forgot to publish it. Try again, please. For reference, the URL is http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dgrsdwjr_4dczj42c4 .
(166) We have things set up so that “gapas at musefanpage.com” will reach us, too, but the actual e-mail address is “gapa,” singular.
I went and made myself a Google account. Not sure what one does with it, but now I can read the script.
There are a lot of weird symbols that are supposed to be dashes or other punctuation but that got messed up somewhere in the process, and the little number with dots over them (e.g, 4.) are page numbers, I deleted some of them but got tired of it. Ignore them.
168 – Oh. So either one works? Dang, I wish I’d known that earlier, or I wouldn’t have worried so much.
Ooh! Scripts! Must read!
Wow, my inconsistencies are dizzying.
And here is TNÖ’s script.
Yay! I’ll read it tomorrow.
Thank you, GAPA!
TNO’s seems very good so far.
What is an “epic battle montage?”
What is a montage?
A montage is a sequence of action without dialogue, where you don’t have to have a new scene heading for each new scene. The words before the montage are just the name of the montage.
Wow, I wish I’d known about montages sooner. I got by fine without ’em, I guess, but they would have helped my page count a lot.
I’ll read both later!
What about you, CM?
Note that Val utterly refuses to monologue… and then shortly after a whole scene is taken up with just her talking. I love it.
Yay! *clapclapclap* That was great!
So what do you guys think of mine?
183- Um… It was very random.
Figures I get a great idea for Screnzy AFTER it’s over.
Should I send my 36 page script in? Or is it a pinch too short…
184- Yes, it was random. It sort of sucked, actually, because I couldn’t keep track of everything and all that mattered was to get to the end. Not a good mindset, I don’t think. I’m going to write an outline for my NaNo, and I’m never doing Screnzy again.
185- Send it in!
I haven’t read TNO’s yet, but I absolutely adore yours, Alice! It got me blue in the face from laughter.
I’ve noticed it’s becoming a trend to have your Muse in your name.
187- Why thank you.
188- Well, I started with just having Timon, but it seemed likely that people would get mixed up, so I had to add Monica.
Hi!
I am the ghost of threads past… .
Could someone come and explain what this thread is about ?
