Help Needed! All Done! Thanks, Everybody!

As you may know, the Muse Fan Page (MuseBlog’s parent site) keeps a list of contents of every issue of Muse. Well, most issues, anyway: we’ve fallen down on the job since April 2007.

This is an area in which MBers can be of inestimable assistance. (Translation: HELP!!!) Please get out your back issues, record what’s in them, and post the results here. We’ll most gratefully add them to the list.

Thanks,

The Administrators

  2. Thanks, Kokonilly! Now, if somebody could record what questions were answered in the Q&A column and what the “Dear Muse Reader” pages were about, our joy would be nearly complete (“nearly” because I forgot to include July/August 2008 on the list — my fault, not yours).

  3. Kokonilly says:

    I’ll do it… I don’t have anything else to do anyway…

May/June 2007: Would time travel actually be possible?
Why do some people have an innate ability to draw realistically?

July/August 2007: Why do some bees have stingers and others don’t?
I heard there’s a type of bioluminescent mushroom that emits two different colors. Can you tell me more?

September 2007: What makes Pop Rocks pop?
Do we always dream? Sometimes it feels like I don’t dream but my mom says I just because I forget my dreams when I wake up. Is this true?

October 2007: Sometimes when I’m falling asleep, I get a feeling like I’m falling, and then I suddenly “land” on my bed with a thud. Why does that happen?
Why are different flowers different colors?

November/December 2007: Where do you have a headache? Obviously in your head, but in the brain or muscle?
Why do we nod our heads “yes” and shake our heads “no”? Where did this come from, and why does everyone seem to understand it?

January 2008: Why is it so hard to move your toes separately?
Why can’t a bird be electrocuted by sitting on a power line?

February 2008: I’ve heard about new cars that run on hydrogen, and their only emission is water vapor. They’re supposed to be a substitute for gasoline-powered cars, which release carbon dioxide. But isn’t water vapor a greenhouse gas like carbon dioxide? How is a hydrogen car better than a gasoline one?
Which would win in a fight, ants or bees?

March 2008: Why do you get little bags under your eyes when you don’t get enough you sleep?
Why does soda fizz when you pour it over ice?

April 2008: What controls our emotions, moods, and feelings?
Why do a flounder’s eyes move across its head?

May/ June 2008: How do seedless watermelons grows if they don’t have any seeds?
Why does the moon sometimes appear red?

Most of my/my sisters (my mom got it for her earlier) collection is made of 2000 and on until 2008, with a HUGE gap from when we stopped subscribing from I think maybe 2005ish. with tiny gaps in the middle, for when we moved, some got lost in the sea of boxes in my garage. Others, who knows?

Ah, yes, I now found my Muses. Turns out the January one was in the bathroom (odd though I do remember it turned open to the “Whart is this dot” “lice poo?” oh, wasn’t that the google one? See what I mean, short term memory loss.) And my mom told me that we just didn’t get the Pencil one (sad), but we did get the April one, which, at this moment, is stuck at the bottom of the newspaper pile, pity, it was an interesting one, the escaping octopuses were hilarious, but a little sad when they dried up :(.
