  4. 5- Umm… his name’s Ivars. Not Ivan. Anyways, I wish I knew what the MAA did. If I knew that, I’d boycott them. Then Ivars would have to come back to Muse.

  6. I just want Mr. Peterson to know that even though some of the math was over my head even when it was probably really simple, I always really enjoyed his column…it was always so clever and presented in a great way. I was so sad to hear he wasn’t going to be in Muse anymore, so I’m glad he has a new place to publish his great stuff!

  7. (this thread proving once again that I need to make time for MuseBlog more than once every few months… asterisks)

no more math page? I hoped it was temporary… *cry* That was the best part of the magazine! Not that I don’t like all the rest, nothing of the sort, but I love math. It just isn’t the same without it.

9- No. You don’t boycott mathematical organizations. No matter what they do… well, as long as they don’t impinge upon a few of the especially important freedoms. It simply isn’t done. They didn’t take him from Muse purposefully, it’s not their fault. The editors of Muse, or maybe the people who control Carus Publishing or whoever it is that decides what goes in the magazines, are the people whose fault this is. If there were focus groups of children or something consulted, I will volunteer to hunt them down. But the MAA shouldn’t be harmed.
