He may no longer be writing for Muse, but you can still read his “Mathematical Tourist” columns on the website of his now-employer, the Mathematical Association of America.
Patience, Please
This site is under reconstruction and will look strange for a while. We regret the inconvenience.
YAYAYAY! w00t!
I’d still like him to come back to Muse, of course!
Red-tailed HAWK

GABADAAI
did i miss something? when did he stop writing for muse?
*is unobservant*
YAY!! But I still think he should come back.
2-Didn’t you notice?
Red-tailed HAWK

IVAN! IVAN! IVAN!
*misses Ivars* Come back to Muse! We miss you!
I ditto! Although Leafy does’nt even read Muse….
*feels the same as Agrrrfishi* We love your articles, Ivars! Muse isn’t the same without you!
5- Umm… his name’s Ivars. Not Ivan. Anyways, I wish I knew what the MAA did. If I knew that, I’d boycott them. Then Ivars would have to come back to Muse.
9- Oh, O.K.:
IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!IVARS!
I hate math, but I still loved Ivars page.
I just want Mr. Peterson to know that even though some of the math was over my head even when it was probably really simple, I always really enjoyed his column…it was always so clever and presented in a great way. I was so sad to hear he wasn’t going to be in Muse anymore, so I’m glad he has a new place to publish his great stuff!
I agree with posts 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12.
Come back to Muse, Ivars!
The Math Page rocked.
I’m sad it’s gone…
(this thread proving once again that I need to make time for MuseBlog more than once every few months… asterisks)
no more math page? I hoped it was temporary… *cry* That was the best part of the magazine! Not that I don’t like all the rest, nothing of the sort, but I love math. It just isn’t the same without it.
9- No. You don’t boycott mathematical organizations. No matter what they do… well, as long as they don’t impinge upon a few of the especially important freedoms. It simply isn’t done. They didn’t take him from Muse purposefully, it’s not their fault. The editors of Muse, or maybe the people who control Carus Publishing or whoever it is that decides what goes in the magazines, are the people whose fault this is. If there were focus groups of children or something consulted, I will volunteer to hunt them down. But the MAA shouldn’t be harmed.
16: True, True…
I’m glad he hasn’t stopped writing, but I still miss his contributions to Muse.
This is better than nothing, though!
becomes
*sniff*
IVARS!! *sobs uncontrollably*
It is sad…
But hey, the site has his email on it!!!!!!!!!!!
