This month’s random thread continues the theme of July’s: thinking cool amid what for many of us continues to be decidedly uncool weather. Think cool, act cool, be cool!
Flamablamablous picture, Rebecca! It looks kind of like bubbles, because when they’re in the sun they get that rainbow-swirly-shiny look. Are they bubbles?
(3) They’re actually partially melted ice cubes sitting in a puddle of watercolor paint, though you’re right, the blue paint and the iridescent Kokopellis make them look rather bubbly.
(7) I was paying attention, HAWK. NASA has a Web page that calculates which orbiting objects are passing over your longitude and latitude on any given night and tells you where and when to watch for them. I don’t have the URL handy, but I’m sure KaiYves does. Some people watch satellites as a hobby and get a special kick out of spotting the spy satellites that officially aren’t up there.
Has anyone here seen Iridium flares? They’re reflections from mirrored communications satelites that sweep across the Earth like the spots from a disco globe. If you’re standing in the right place when one of them passes, you see a sudden flash in the sky. Great fun!
Skylab passed over my parents’ house during its reentry in 1979. I was in the driveway helping my father recharge a car battery and got a good look at it. It was much brighter and slower-moving than I expected it to be — very dramatic!
Sorry for the double post, but I was just wondering if we could maybe have a thread about colleges? People could give advice about which colleges are good (or bad) and applications and all that good stuff.
8–the last time I saw a meteor shower, the moon was full, so it wasn’t all that great. But I’ve seen the Space Station go over several times, it’s not all that spectacular but it’s strange to think we built it. It looks utterly insignificant amongst all the stars; makes you think.
That is such an amazing picture. I would totally set it as my desktop background, if a picture of my soccer team wasn’t already there.
Speaking of my soccer team, we have another soccer tournament starting today! This is the annual tournament that my club hosts, so we’re going to be trying extra hard to win. I’m also going to be watching lots of other games by teams that my friends are on. Which is kind of funny, because most of my friends belong to the same club I do.
On a completely different note, it’s so unreal that the comment boxes aren’t shrinking anymore. (Knock on wood!)
Well, I cracked. I talked to an RA and told her everything I thought was bad about my roommate and her “friends”. She listened thoughtfully and said that I may be able to switch rooms. Yay! I also yelled at them at class.
333 (Alice on the previous random thread)~ Yes, I’m lucky again. Firing it off was quite more exciting than being the powder monkey……wheeee!!!!! *BOOM!!!!*
Rebecca, I like this picture, it’s so beautiful!!
I’m at the library (surprise, surprise), the Cartoon History of the Universe came in, yay!
I hope I get to go to the library later. I want my dad to drive me because walking is bad. It’s a busy road and a long walk.
I’m going to have library withdrawal. I’ve only been there once this summer and it was only for 1/2 hour because I walked and it takes a whole hour just to get there.
Pretty picture- I’ll have to see if I can make that my computer back ground, too. I think everyone except my mom is tired of seeing Storm Large’s face when ever we get on.
Ah ha! I have posted elsewhere! Left my comfort zone! What else shall I do with this caffeine induced courage? Perhaps I shall use the dreaded telephone and commune vocally with the outside world…
27-*cracks up* You should find a picture of Devil smiling really big and photoshop that onto a picture of a computor chair in front of a computor or something.
Okay, don’t, but I’d be funny.
11) I’m so for that also. We have a college/university/higher education thread, but I dunno.
I have to start visiting colleges this year, one of the approximately 9000 other things I have to do.
Princeton Review’s website and collegeboard (esp. collegeboard, to be honest) are great sites to use, although the “percent admitted” info usually makes me weep a little..
For those of you who asked how the graphic was put together, I’ve posted some of the basic parts on the Incredible Morphing Chameleon Thread, since that fits in with the conversation over there.
I can give college advice and such if people want given that I did the whole searching for/applying to thing last year and I’ll be attending one this year. I’m not entirely sure how much spare time I’ll have in the school year though so we’ll see how often I’ll be able to get on but I’d like to help.
Also. Small plug but small liberal arts colleges are excellent! Since they are small you get plenty of personal attention and feedback on your work but there is also a variety of classes available.
29-How are people posting graphics now? I thought the GAPAs had made it impossible because of safety concerns, and now many are posting their own pictures.
(36) Don’t worry, HAWK. No one is posting pictures, as they can only be added through the editing window. The comments box strips them out. NAPOI tried to post a link and I turned it into a graphic.
37-Ahh, that makes perfect sense, thank you. People were referring to the links they were putting in their comments, and you turned them into graphics, thus making the comment still make sense.
(39) Be it noted that we don’t encourage the practice and don’t always post the graphics. They’re more likely to pass muster if they’re especially relevant or if a GAPA is sufficiently amused.
OMG! I can’t believe it! OK, one my cousins is my age and when I saw him 2 years ago I was slightly taller than him. Anyway, now he’s more then a head taller then me and he looks ENTIRELY different! *dies* Plus, his personality has warped. He didn’t even say “Hi” to me. He just mumbled something as a walked in the room. For the rest of the evening, he would barely look at me! Hello? What happened? I’m not going to bite you! Oh well. At least my other cousins are still fun to be around. *sigh*
40-Of course, I know you have way too much to do already, and I don’t want to add more. I pretty much never post external links anyway, because I know you don’t want them. If I do, I make sure you know it’s there, so you can decide if it’s safe or not.
But I try not to do that, either.
But that HPB is rather amusing, I must say
I may have to double post. Hold on, I’m sending out emergency telegrams to a couple of key threads where I hope to get the attention of the most people. Sorry for any trouble.

41 – Yeah, after my soccer tournament last weekend we went to visit some friends of my parents and their kids, who are sort of like the cousins I never had. We’ve only seen them once since they moved 6 years ago, but the oldest boy (about 8 months older then me) looked pretty much the same. And I don’t think he said one word to me the whole time.
So, I just got back from the soccer complex, where I’ve been for the past 7 hours. See, first I played my soccer game (we lost 3-1, but I scored our only goal in the last five minutes) and then we went and watched C’s team’s soccer game (they won 2-1, but C only played about half the game), and then watched my brother’s soccer game (they lost 6-0 to a really good team).
Urk, tonight at work somebody dropped the butter can while putting it in the fridge… Poor guy, his forearms looked like they’d been subjected to about six hours of brutal sunshine on some beach somewhere. Anyway, it took about two week’s worth of rags to mop up the mess, followed by three intense mop sessions, and the floor was still a bit sticky.
On a side note, how is it that canola oil can be stick and slippery at the same time? Strange.
And this certainly doesn’t make me want to eat the popcorn (which tastes like cardboard, by the way) any time soon.
It also makes me laugh when people say, “get me a large popcorn with lotsa butter, and some [insert candy here, usually swedish fish], and a large diet pepsi.” …People are very silly, sometimes.
So anyhoo, my mom and I went to the pattern store and looked at patterns and she bought me a shirt pattern which I will lengthen extremely and turn into a semi-Empire dress! Hoorah!
And then I went and listened to music for an hour and ate homemade pizza, after which I got to play the harmonium and talk about the SCA. And then I waited for Eva to get off work and we walked home and went to her house and worked on Tarot cards. And then the kittens disappeared. And we were like, “What the heck?” and searched for about forty-five minutes. And then I was like, “Oh my gosh! It’s the tangible magic we were looking for! They’ve been spirited away to Fairyland!”
And then we found them in the top drawer of her desk, and Eva wrote “Fairie Land Inside” on it.
I think there should be a thread about funny signs. I saw one in Indiana that said “entry by appointment or chance”. Does anyone else have funny signs they’d like to share?
49- speaking of funny signs, what about funny t-shirts?
i want 1 that says ‘I have a photographic memory, but somtimes it runs out of film…’ That would be funny. My friend Nick and i came up with that.
57~ I thought they were amusing, but I still can’t figure what relevance they have to MB, or what the graphic on them is……..Brilliance, but rather mad…….Lady B.?
“I beg to differ” came out of a discussion on the Complaints and Rants thread. The graphic image is a cat tessellation I designed some time ago. A comment of POSOC’s made me think of it, and several people requested the shirt.

59~ Flatulus has been around for awhile, Jordan’s Little Hippie is an alter ego who may or may not be altering their writing style to use tildes to respond to other comments. I suppose that may be all part of the deception, or maybe forgetfulness.
Yes, “brilliance, but rather mad’ is a nice way of putting it…..Hmm, maybe someone should go and see who this mysterious person is?
Idea: We should have another MuseBlog Sig edition soonish. There’s lots more new peeps who haven’t signed their names, and old peeps who aren’t here anymore…
I was around for the first T-shirts, but I didn’t get my name in on time, and I’m on the second. That was a while ago, though, so a new one might be a good idea.
I spent another 7 hours at the soccer complex today. I got there at 11:30 to scout the team my team was playing in the afternoon with some of my teammates and my coach, and then my brother had a game, and then I hung around for a while and watched about 10 minutes of C’s game, and then I had a game (we lost, 3-0) and then my brother had another game and a hung out with one of my friends during that.
If you think 7 hours is bad, though, you should consider that my friend had been there for almost 11 hours. From 7am to about 6. Wow.
49) OK, one time when my family was on vacation, we drove past an adult video store. There was a huge billboard in front of it by the “Church of Christ”. It had a huge picture of Jesus on it and this quote, “Jesus it watching over you” I bet that hurt somebodies business……..
Road Cloased? Yeas, this road is cloased. Noa, you can’t come ian!

The movie Space Chimps has inspired me! I want a bunch of my friends to sew lab coats with me, and then for Halloween we can be a group of scientists. It’ll look really funny when we’re all running around the track during Run for the Arts. The nerds will make the year book at last!
50- I think I would just go straight in confusion, therefor probably missing the right turn I needed to make.
64- Yeah! *runs off to work on signature*
Yay, I’m going to be in WI at the time of the Milwaukee Irish Fest, JOYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope that I can go at least one day and see Gaelic Storm, and I’m looking to see what other groups are playing this year………and we’re going on the train this time, so I’ll be able to actually MOVE when we get to Grandma and Grandpa’s house instead of being crippled from 16 hours in the car…..I’m so HAPPY!! Even if it is coach class on the way out.
Signatures…..Rebecca, I gae you mine last time you were here, right? Is it the one with my name inside of half a violin? I think so……anyway, you’ve got it already, so use it when you please.
Can you please make the signatures due by later than August 8 or 9, please? I have no camera/scanner here at nerd camp, nor do I have access to one. Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaase, GAPAs?!?!?!?!
83~ I’ve done that before……I’ve actually played the violin with gum in my mouth too, but I wouldn’t recommend it…….
My feet are cold. And I want more chocolate. *gets another malted milk ball* Yuuuuummmmmmmmmm……. *gets another*
Ya know, I should get out of the house, it’s such a lovely day. And the chocolate might not be able to call as loudly either.
I can’t think of any funny signs, but the address of Space Academy is One Tranquility Base, and it’s SUPER funny to hear a councilor order pizza for you.
83- Usually I just stuff it in my cheek, but it still sounds muffly anyways.
I just finished watching ‘Titanic’, and I can’t stop crying. It’s just so sad what those people went through, and to see it happen all over again is just mind-numbing.
Plus also, why can’t every guy be like Jack?!? I hated it when he (( SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER!!!)) died, it was the saddest thing I ever saw! Okay, well maybe not the saddest…but I still cried my eyes out. That was probably the most I’ve cried in my entire life. *sob* Which is actually kind of pathetic, if you think about it. *rants on and on*
90 – I thought you may find this funny. WARNING: “TITANIC” AND “STAR WARS” SPOILERS AHEAD.
~Why Star Wars is better than Titanic~
1. Titanic may be big, but it doesn’t have hyperdrive.
2. Star Wars has way better action figure potential.
3. Yoda could use the Force to just lift Titanic out of the water.
4. Leia is a princess, a senator, a diplomat, a freedom fighter, a brilliant strategist, and Jedi material; Rose is just cute marriage bait.
5. Ewoks throw better parties than either first class or steerage.
6. When flying towards the Titanic, Wedge couldn’t say, “Wow! Look at the size of that thing!” with any sincerity.
7. It would be much scarier to get chased around the boat by an evil madman with a lightsaber as opposed to an idiot with a handgun.
8a. Titanic is egalitarian in that it portrays poor people as sympathetic characters. Star Wars is egalitarian by promoting bug-eyed amphibians to the rank of Admiral.
8b. Said bug-eyed amphibious Admiral manages not to lose his ship.
9. We know Cal is the bad guy because he greases his hair, sneers at the poor, and treats his fiance like property. We know Darth Vader is the bad guy because he wears an ominous, voluminous black cape and mysterious mask, strangles people with a glance and blows up entire planets for sport.
10. Yeah, okay, so Leo can dance…but can he fly an X-wing?
11. People have never lost their lives trying to recreate scenes from Star Wars on the bow of a cruise liner.
12. Rose braves icy water to rescue her man. Leia braves Jabba the Hutt. Now c’mon… who’s really the brave one here?
13. Two words: Harrison Ford.
14. There are always more than enough escape pods in Star Wars.
15. Do you have any idea what the Empire does to self-proclaimed “kings of the world”?
16. If Luke were handcuffed to a pipe below decks in a sinking ship, he would either…
A: Cut himself free with his lightsaber
B: Use the Force to get the key
C: Han Solo would come in at the last second and blast the cuffs off
17. “I’d rather be his whore than your wife” just doesn’t have the same sting as “I’d rather kiss a Wookiee.”
18. We all knew the boat was gonna sink, but who was ready for “No, I am your father.” ???
19. Han Solo would’ve missed that dang iceberg!
20. Stormtroopers blast big holes in stupid minor characters; everyone in Titanic was a stupid minor character.
21. Han, though frozen solid in carbonite and turned into a wall ornament, returns in excellent health to mount a successful mission against the Empire at Endor, crushing the enemy and single-handedly paving the way for a brilliant air campaign which results in the destruction of the Empire’s second attempt at a Death Star, and claims the heart of his woman with whom he will live happily ever after. Jack, on the other hand, simply freezes.
the picture is awesome!! it is now my descktop background. but i need the papsicle picture!! is there somewhere i can find it? i am making a magazine holder and i am decopaugeing the random thread pictures on it. but i forgot to get the musesicle picture
ATTENTION ALL FORMER AND CURRENT MUSEICAN CITIZENS!!
Under the new system of government, all Museican citizens are eligible to vote on laws in the House of Commons. The House is currently debating a law which will provide for wung rights. Please come to vote on it today.
Re: Funny signs- I saw this one outside a church that said “Thou Shall Not Park”.
I went to a preduction of Godspell that my girlfriend was in. It was pretty amazing, even better than the movie. It wasn’t all hippie like the movie was, but it was post-apocolyptic, and the color scheme for the costumes were black, grey, pink, purple and blue. Clarissa had the best costume. She looked like a gothic doll, and she had blue and black makeup on. All the costumes were great though, and it was shortish, so it wasn’t all boring. BEST Godspell ever.
I forgot! Alice and Midnight Fiddler guess what I did yesterday? We went to look at tall ships! There were three in my state and we went to go look at them. We took a tour of each and I took a ton of pictures of coiled up lines. There were a lot of lines and they looked sort of cool. I thought you’d enjoy hearing that I’d done that. I was thinking of you guys!
(94) The Musesicles are still on the third installment of the July random thread, if you open it.
(98) Welcome! Are you asking about the signatures? Every so often we make special editions of the Musewear available from our online boutique, Musery Loves Company, with signatures on the back as if other MuseBloggers have signed their names there. Some of the signatures are quite elaborate. (I like the signature mousepads, myself.) To have yours added, just send a graphics file to us at “gapa at musefanpage.com” (with “@” instead of “at”). Some formats work better than others, though. Rebecca can give you the rundown.
90) I continually see the last half of that movie on tv, it really is sad…The whole story of the Titanic is really interesting, when I was younger I used to know everything about it. I had all these books…It’s weird to think that was almost a hundred years ago, huh?
I don’t feel well. My stomache hurts a bit, and my left leg does too. The leg is explainable, because I just finished playing three soccer games in a weekend, but I’m not sure about the stomache. At first I thought I might just be hungry, but I ate something (not a ton, but something) and it still feels weird. -pathetic-
93- *cracks up, laughs hysterically* Ok, ok, so you have a point. But it’s still a good movie. ‘Learn your lesson, you must!’ Heck, Leo DeCaprio could be a Jedi Master if he really wanted. Think before thy act, young Padowan.
Don’t get me wrong, though. Star Wars rocks.
111 – Cool, I think this is the first time I’ve been called refreshingly random.
Moderation seems to be strange lately – or is it just me? It seems to come in clumps of five or six posts, many minutes apart. Is this because people aren’t posting, because GAPAs aren’t moderating, or some other cause entirely?
114- I perceive the same thing. GAPA’s, are you still awake? Not to place blame. It’s probably another unidentified cause. It doesn’t hurt to check, though.
I’m verrrrry tired. Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry verrrrrrrrrrrrrry tired. I just watched a really funny Youtube video from Mega64, called Resident Evil 4. No, t’s not the video game. It’s someone imiating the video game in the middle of the street and bugging random people until the buggers actually get arrested… I know it sounds boring, but it’s hilarious.
See, this is why I’m a dork. THIS is what I do with my spare time.
At least a couple of us are here, but I’ve been interrupted by an unusual number of telephone calls. Weekends are often more subject to irregularities in moderation coverage just by their nature.
Re: signatures. You can send them in whenever you like. August has too many unresolved and unpredictable (offblog) issues in the air at present to set any kind of deadline. We should have a better idea towards the end of the month.
I don’t think anything unusual is happening, except that I took a nap this afternoon and returned to find 21 comments in the queue. So maybe slightly higher-than-average activity combined with slightly more-intermittent-than-average moderation has made things seem choppy.
101, 106 – I know!!! I completely cracked up when I read it!!!
We had a talent show… OMG it was hilarious!!!! These people sag “Nerdilicious” and had a list of “You know you’re Nerdy When…” and the RAs did “The Mysterious Ticking Noise”… *cracks up* *is looked at oddly*
My brother just came into my room to brag about how he caught Regice in his Pokemon game before me. Ummm…like I care? At least I didn’t spend the past 3 days doing that.
I think I’m going queue-queue. (HEH! It’s a play on words!)
It’s like kyew-kyew. Whee-hew.
If you think the mysterious ticking noise is funny regular, just watch it SPED UP * giglles loudly* Ron sounds like a chipmunk on steroids.
Hello All!
I am back home from my 3 weeks of vacationing! Did you miss me?
My trip is/was too long to put all here, so here’s a random list.
Random events/quotes/musings from my trip:
I painted a ceramic penguin and named it Dwntn. (big surprise)
Day camp at the YMCA of the Rockies was AWESOME!
River rafting is my new favorite outdoor activity.
I HATE Las Vegas. The only good thing there is Cirque du Soleil.
Cirque du Soleil’s show ‘O’ is the best performance of anything I’ve ever
seen.
My mom’s side of the family is amazingly fun and awesome.
Putt-putt golf can give you serious head injuries.
The pool staff at the YMCA are stupid and just don’t like Thursday’s Teen
Night Swim thing so they threw us out.
I love my 20- month-old step-cousin’s daughter, and she loved Dwntn, so I
painted her a penguin too!
I have reinstituted my Harry Potter obsessedness.
I HAVE NOT BEEN ON THE MUSEBLOG FOR THREE
WEEKS!!!!!!!!!
Twice this week, I said something and accidentally sounded like Pegasus,
and cracked myself up.
Zion Canyon National Park is amazing! I hiked the Narrows!
There you go. Also random:
Thai peanut sauce has a very annoying flavor.
I love the PPPs! And Wizard Swears is hilarious.
I once attempted to recite TMTN onto my friend’s cellphone. But, due to the fact that there are like 6 people talking at once, it turned out strangely.
Has anyone been on the PPP website lately? They have a “PPP Playground” up. It’s kind of fun.
128) yeah? I hadn’t noticed that thread yet. Thanks. By the way, is there somewhere I can do stuff other than here or the neophyte place? Like maybe a Books thread? I mean, I know there’s no law against butting in on stuff, but it would be nice to be somewhere that I know what they’re talking about (I don’t really see that many movies)
136 – There’s all kinds of interesting threads. Only a few are on the Recent Posts section. They should all be listed on the What’s Here page (there’s a link to it at the top of each page), if you’d like to check them out.
(142) Basic guidelines from last time can be found here. As I’ve said before, no one has ever sent a file that was too big. Resizing is almost always necessary, and reducing produces better results than enlarging.
134- Nope, just the Potter Puppet Pals ones. I don’t really get on You Tube that much…
135- Yeah! I wonder if they were just doing it to be funny, though, and didn’t really know that it was true.
I made a candle yesterday! It’s three layers of purple and scented lavender… thanks to the people on the R&R thread, I’ve got a birthday present for my girlfriend! *happy*
Dumbledore: What does he mean by, ‘*is naked*’? Or ‘Who or you, or more importantly, where the hell am I?’????
Harry: …*is stuck up*?
Ron: I have a ridiculously high voice?
Hermione: My voice is lower than Ron’s?
Voldemort: My voice echoes??? AWESOME!!!!
Snape: Hm… where’s my script? Not over here… not over there… Hmm… It’s kind of… catchy…
I was just at the Chicago Botanical Gardens! (GAPA, Snip the Chicago if you want to)
I love it there! I went thru a Dis Cam very quickly! I need to get the photos devopleped!
animutations >>>>>>>>> potter puppet pals
especially Team Rocket’s Journey Through Time and Space
LOVE IT
also the clown quartet…lolol dying just thinking about it
PPP: I’ve only seen parts, and I don’t have a long enough attention span for those. I think that may be an indicator of extreme ADD.
I just realized how much taekwondo actually controls my life. Next weekend I’m going to testings Friday night, Saturday morning/afternoon, and a party for taekwondo instructors Sunday afternoon. I also go to regular class (teaching and taking) Monday through Thursday most weeks, and if I wasn’t at my dad’s house Friday and Saturday I’d probably go on those days too.
I love taekwondo!!! It’s pretty much the only thing that forces me to see humans during the summer, otherwise I would become a recluse.
168 – It’s about the same with me and soccer. I usually have my practices on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. When I don’t have practice on Mondays or Thursdays I go to my brother’s practices. During the regular season I have games every Saturday, and sometimes Sundays, and often during the summer we have weekend-long tournaments. I go to soccer camps whenever I can, and I sometimes wish that we had practices even more often.
Oh. I found my iPod Mini that I lost two years ago. It was in my bookcase (?). I got it from Clarissa at the sixth grade play. We’re always laughing at that. She gave this random iPod to a guy she barely met… and then a year later we’re going out! I guess I always owed her…
I leave tomorrow. For two weeks of camping. I’ll be back on my birthday.
I have ONE duffel bag in which to fit the entire list they gave me. Plus a sleeping pad.
SO MUCH STUFF.
-dies-
Anyhoo, I’ll be away two weeks. I’ve never been away for longer than nine days…
179) Well, have fun. I know what you mean about those bags! Evey other year, my family (4 people) goes on vacation for a whole month. We pack everything we need in 4 suitcases (carry on luggage for the plane) and 1 backpack.
179- Have fun anyway! I feel the same way. My family’s going on vacation this Saturday and things have been terribly busy around my house. Any way, I get half a suitcase and a backpack for all my stuff, and I have a LOT of stuff. My poor laptop, where is it going to go?
My grandparents called this morning. My grandpa is doing really badly, and not sure if he’s going to make it, so we’re going to drive out instead of take the train so they don’t have to worry abuot picking us up….and I probably won’t be going to the Milwaukee Irish Fest at all.
That’s all fine, but I really wish that he was doing better. He can be so much fun to be around, it’s hard to see him like this.
179~ Have fun! How big is the duffel? I paked 2 weeks worth of stuff, plus books, notebooks, journals, raingear, extra shoes, etc. in a duffel to go on the Zodiac because my grandmother said to “pack light” in squishable bags……I ended up carrying everyone elses stuff because I was the only one that had less that FOUR bags. (And some of theirs were on rollers….I really should have gotten a rolling duffel, but that’s another story….) So, it is possible!
Thanks everyone! I will have fun, and I’ll write in a journal so I can tell you all about it when I get back.
183- Aw. That sucks.
185- It’s a pretty big duffel, and we get a small day pack (that really doesn’t have to be that small…) I’m not worried about it anymore, indeed, my chief concern now is finding enough short-sleeve t-shirts.
Tonight, we’re having cherry tart, ricotta gnocchi, and salad. I’m excited.
And now I have to go mince garlic and check on the tart.
166- Yeah, I know! I wasn’t expecting that.
170- Congratulations!
179- Have loads and loads and loads of fun! Don’t get eaten by any bog monsters, now. I hear they don’t just live around bogs anymore.
183- Oh, that’s so sad! I hope he gets better.
A couple of my friends got their drivers licence, now I’m definatly staying away from major highways.
189-Yeah, her birthday’s today. I’m going to give her a candle, and we’re going to go in my backyard and try to enchant it at night with these spells we got from Esoterica.
Ergh. My mom has decided that instead of leaving today and staying the night in Portland, thus enabling us to rise at a sensible hour, we will stay the night here and simply get up brain-numbingly early so that we can drive to Portland in the morning.
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND.
168-Not really. We don’t spar every day. I don’t really like sparring anymore because they keep adding new safety gear and it’s become quite cumbersome. When I started we had gloves, foot pads, a mouthpiece, and headgear.
They’ve added a chest shield and a plastic facemask. The mask is frustrating because it’s hard to see. I wish we could go back to what they had before I joined–mouthpiece and optional hand wraps.
Some of the little kids say the cutest things at karate. One of them said that testing was at 9:65 a.m. We were like noooo it’s 10:00.
201- She says she’d rather be at home than in Portland. I can certainly sympathize with that (although I here it’s warmer in Portland), but I’m rather forgo (sp?) a few hours at home in the evening than get up at such an hour.
I guess I can just sleep in the car. But still.
My soccer team is picking captains on Monday. We’re also running, which is pretty blech, particularly since my ankle is still hurt from last weekend’s tournament.
97~ Cool! (I didn’t see your post earlier, sorry.) Anyway, that sounds really neat, what ships did you see? (If it won’t reveal your location, that is.) Oh, and I forgot to congratulate you on getting your driver’s license, yippie!!
Yesterday on the way home from the library we (my dad and I) stopped at the house of some friends. I knew one of the kids through one of my best friends who goes to school with her, so she’s a friend of a friend (with the same name too….ahhh!) and Dad knew the family in general from some other times, i don’t know the particulars….anyway, they have horses and they invited me to go over anytime! They’re really nice and live so close that I could easily bike over. Fun.
Well, the band is shaping up nicely this year. The freshmen are getting the formations, we have eighteen people in our section this year, and the drums are fantastic. Now, if only it was about twenty degrees cooler, everything would be perfect.
Hi! I’m back from science camp. It was so awesome! Okay, so I wasn’t too crazy about my roommate and the pizza was slightly undercooked, but other than that it was great. *note- If you ever go to camp, make friends with the people with the giant bag of sour patch kids. Obviosly, they are awesome for bringing a giant bag of sour patch kids in the first place, and they need help eating it. (the candy, not the bag)
I am really tired right now. Today was the first day of XC camp, and I ran ten miles by the end of the day. Ten miles!! Why do I put myself through this torture!? Oh well. It was fun anyway. We got to play at this water park thing near the beach.
209~ DARN THOSE SMALL NOODLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As you can see, I’m perfectly capable of being random as well. *big grin that would send any sane person scampering to the woods*
213- Or, if you desire to make friends, you could be the one who brings a bag of sour patch kids. Once I had a bunch of gummy sharks, which I foolishly opened in Spanish class, and suddenly everyone in the room became my best friend.
“In peacetime some sort of introduction is generally required to make make a person’s acquaintance; in war a small eatable will perform the same office.”
-Susanna Clarke, Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell
Heh, or a common friend and an interest in horses. Living nearly next door doesn’t hurt either. I spent a good bit of the day hanging out in the barn with Katie V. (There are simply too many Katies around, several of my friends and acquaintances have that name, as well as one of my cousins.)
Sour Patch? Yum! Well, I finished what I thought was the “last” Maximum Ride book. But it isn’t the last. *sigh* I love those books. I think I’m a big sucker.
I’m back!
Wow, already 221 post O_o.
220- Did you like it?
I just got back from Cincinnati and Tennessee. It was better than I thought.
Ding ding a ding aling ling.
I don’t feel like myself today…
I just got braces. They don’t look as bad as I thought they would, but they’re still pretty bad.
Anyway, Clarissa liked her birthday present. We tried to watch Sweeny Todd, but I have this thing with blood and we ended up turning it off near the end, I was squealing. I am SUCH a wimp.
I’ve survived as a veg so far, I thought I wouldn’t last a week.
225-I’m getting molded for braces on the 16th
does the plaskit taste bad?
(and just so you know, plaskit is NOT a misspelling. it is a word in the same family as complooter and SKOOLand thingama-whosit-with-the-freakilidy-whatchmagig-on-top)
232~ Yup. Not perfectly straight, but close enough that I don’t need braces. Actually, one of my lower front teeth came in sideways when I was little, but straightened itself out by the time it was finished….
227- Well, I had my mouth molded for something else (I forgot what) and if it’s the same as the one for braces, it’s horrible. Just try not to breathe in.
Today was my new high school’s freshman orientation. You know what that means? School starts on Monday. Yes, it is insanely early. Our homecoming is before some of you guys even start school. On the bright side, it’s gonna be awesome.
Rebecca’s art which I looked at on Photobucket inspired me to draw a new sig. I drew it by hand, scanned it in, and colored it on the computer. I’ll send it in.
(243) The design looks great, but I’m afraid the lettering will not show up very well. The ZVX could use some thickening. I’m not sure “resistance is Museless” will be readable at all. In general, signatures work best without extra text. I’ll put up some guidelines tomorrow.
237, 240- That’s insane. School always starts in September for me, usually right after Memorial Day. Then again, you guys probably end school early too, no?
Turn on the Infinite Improbability Drive!!! You’ll never imagine what I found when googling my MB name under images……it appears that in Port Townsend there is a ketch named……………Midnight Fiddler!
Who knew? I promise that I did not know when I chose this name, and I seriously doubt that anyone could find off-blog references to me by googling my MB name, but I thought that this was too funny.
Another strange co-incidence, 5 out of 20 things listed were in some way pertaining to boats….most of the others were from Musefanpage, and a few I have no idea whatsoever how they are associated with my name. :unsure:
Anyway, I just thought that would be amusing………….goodnight.
P.S. Does Rebecca still have my signature?? And if so, is it the one with half a violin?
249- Wow! That’s an interesting/strange coincidence! But I’ve only had three teeth pulled, and one of them doesn’t count becaus eit was coming out anyway. But still…!
Just as an update, I’m going on vacation from Saturday-Tuesday. I might be on later today, but I have a TON of packing to do. I’m a procrastinator. Put it all off till the last minute. But the good part is, I’m going to my favorite place in the entire world. I’m not allowed to bring my laptop, so I guess I’ll just have to see you all later. Don’t get too far ahead without me!
Also, I phoned my cousin(you know her as QueenOfAces), to wish her happy birthday. She wanted me to tell all of you that she’s terribly sorry she hasn’t been on, but her computer got some sort of virus and completely shut down. They haven’t been able to figure out what’s wrong with it yet. But, who knows, maybe her parents are surprising her with a new one today! they know how much she loves her computer.She misses it,and is unhappy that she has to be computerless on her birthday, but I reassured her that things are going to work out fine.
See you all later! By the way, GAPAS, how does my signature look? Did the fish come in right?
I’ve had braces before and tons of teeth pulled. I had so many teeth when I was little that I had 6 pulled in one day and it didn’t interfere with my eating.
I only have 24 teeth because my mouth is too small to have all of them. Aren’t people supposed to end up with 32?
Gurgle. My sister is driving me crazy. She is obsessed with this one band and she is intent on torturing me with watching videos of them/looking at pictures of them/blogging with them/listening to their music/drawing pictures of them/entering contests for them/etc. It’s so ANNOYING! *imagines self strangling sister*
267~ What’s the band? *probably doesn’t know of it* Anyway, try not to strangle the sister, but if imagining helps so be it.
*skips away, happy to be an only child*
The College Board, which owns the SAT, PSAT and other tests, plans to introduce an eighth-grade college assessment exam in 2010, a top College Board official said this week.
thank goodness I ‘m past all that… V. sorry to any MBers who will have the “option” of taking it since it’s “not mandatory”. You know what else isn’t? The PSAT. what a bunch of ninnies. as if more ~diagnostic~ tests will do kids any favors. lolllll
233 – My teeth on the left side are pretty twisted. They’re one of the main reasons I need braces, besides just general straightening.
236 – YAY!!!!
237 – Wow, that is early. My school starts on August 28th, which is unusually early.
Speaking of school starting early, my mom, brother, and I are going to go school supply shopping soon. Not only are we going to get supplies for ourselves, but we’re also going to get a lot to donate to the community center.
238 – Lucky.
245 – My school normally starts somewhere around September 7th or 8th. This year is really weird.
246 – Hey, I’ve been to Port Townsend. -RANDOM-
If I Google Cat’s Meow I get 1,270,000 results, and if I google “Cat’s Meow”, I get 1,040,000.
248, 249 – I’ve never had any teeth pulled, but I have to have my braces for about 3 years. Ick. It’s actually not that bad, because almost everybody else on my soccer team is just getting them too. I think people with braces actually outnumber people without braces on my team.
259 – Why don’t you want to watch the Olympics? I already watched the USA vs. Japan soccer game, yesterday.
Although, my high school class (2013) is going to get hit with everything for our district. We’re going to have more required classes, particularly in math, and we’re going to have harder graduation requirements. Ugh. Not that I’m very worried about that, but still…
Mwahaha- My class is a lucky class. Affective this coming school year, 8th graders have to take Washington State History (how this will work at my school, I don’t know, because our schedule is different from the rest of the district) and high school peoples don’t! That’s a whole year that I can focus more on my art forms, and math and science, my most favorite academics. And now, we’re missing this college assessment! This makes RAWR very happy.
268) Some band called Tokio Hotel. *makes face* My family makes fun of it and calls it Hokio Totel. It’s some strange band with a very odd looking lead singer. I wouldn’t give up my sister for anything though. I mean, if I didn’t have a sister who would I annoy? Who would I talk too? Who would I drive crazy until they would entertain me? Who would help me with my science homework? Who else would do all the things I do to her back (except for homework, she’s ahead of me, so anything she doesn’t know, lord help me)? She’s moving to collage the 15th. *dies*
I’m watching the Olympic opening ceremony. It’s very interesting.
It’s really neat to see this happening after seeing the Bird’s Nest under construction last summer. I didn’t get to go in but we went by it before it was finished.
OMG that box thing was amazing! I was so surprised when the people came out at the end. I definitely thought that was computerized.
277 – Oh, some of my friends love that band! I’ve only heard one song by them, though.
I watched the Olympic opening ceremony last night, and it was beautiful. I’ve read the news for the past few months, and I know all of the politics surrounding it, but, for me, it didn’t matter. It was just beautiful to see it all.
278-Yep. The opening ceremony was increadible. I think my favorite part was when the globe rose out of the floor with all the acrobats doing cartwheels on it.
284) You don’t know what it is? Why, it’s only a totally awesome theme park! Wonderful roller coasters! You can’t tell me you haven’t heard of the Borg! I do believe it may be the first roller coaster in which the riders lie down. Unfortunately, the lines are ExTREMELY long.
288- Are you going to ride it? *shivers* I wouldn’t… Any roller coaster with a long line is guarantied to be one that I won’t like.
It’s my birthday! I’m so happy! I got up at eight and did EVERYONE’S chores and all the stuff that my mom has ever asked me to do that isn’t anyone’s chores, so that no one would be grumpy and therefore ruin my birthday. It sort of worked… For some reason my mom still seems stressed. Maybe it’s because she has nothing to do… I should go mess up my room- that might help.
*Sits limp in chair* I’ve been at my grandmother’s since early yesterday. I did all kinds of work around the house and yard. Including cutting a tree down. It seemed to be dying, but it was maybe 25 feet tall or so, and still very sturdy, or so it seemed cutting it with a little hand saw. I am very sore from cutting that down piece by piece, cutting and pulling down the two main trunks, and then cutting it up some. Plus all sorts of other projects and such.
Will work on signature later, I can’t think about that now.
287 – I thought the part at the start with the drummers, lights, and countdown was amazing, but kind of creepy too, especially when they brought out the red sticks.
287, 291-I particularly liked when the characters started waving. And when the guy ran around the stadium. And when the people were painting and dancing at the same time.
Olympics: I loved it when there were those boxes making waves and stuff, and it seemed like they were robotic, and them all the people came out and waved.
Oooh I liked the people in the green flashing suits too. Those were neat!
Random: Why is the latest Muse Acadamy RPG filed under random craziness? We’re not that random… OK, maybe we are. We spent less than a day back at school before going on another adventure. Wow.
Never mind on the “we’re not random” thing, but I think the latest RPG could at least be catagorized under muse acadamy with the other ones.
0- Awesome pic, Lady Bunniful. The intricate ice patterns are mesmerizing.
29- AUGH!
295- Hello, briefly appearing Beavo.
296- Why? Because of the pie fight (that I started ), the ghost ship, the basement with the T. Rex and the Sizan and all, the trans-dimensional portal, the magic…but I’ve been gone for a week, so it might be different now.
The Olympics opening ceremony was amazing. Maybe even a little over the top, but awesome, nonetheless.
GAPAs, you were right, as always. The Blog’s as lively as it ever was.
(296) GAPAs sometime forget to assign categories when they make new threads, then “Random Craziness” appears by default. I’ve fixed it now to match the others.
Lurking is fun. Aliens can be fun, except when they pull out your spleen through your navel and suchlike. But a lurker is like a stalker minus their notebook, and stalkers pwn.
So, I swear I didn’t abandon MB, I said I wouldn’t, didn’t I? Yes.
I was, in fact, grounded from the comp for 2 weeks, then at a tennis camp for one, and now I’m back, though still grounded.
Also, I hate my parents. They took my door away. They took my door. So I kicked a hole in the wall. There was also a lot of yelling before, throughout, and after these events.
So I haven’t been able to come on for a while.
I’ll post tales of my absence later, maybe, but I don’t have much time left for all the crap I had to do to get on the comp for 1 hour (10 pages of AP US History notes, conjugate a page of spanish verbs, read some of Walden, 75 hocky shots, give Bandit a bath poor thing, ect).
Also, school starts next monday. Ahhhhhhghgjsahfiaghk;w ehdfbc ;akhjfb *dies* We only got out June 13! I can’t go back now!
309~ They took away your door???? Ouch. I’m not even sure I want to know what you were fighting about……
Hmm, in Freaky Friday the girl had her door taken away..I wonder if that’s where they got the idea? Never mind, I assume you don’t want to talk about it….
GAPAs, I need to ask you a question! Please Resond below me!
What is this about Neanderthals having spines bent artificially? Can you tell me a way to combate that? It’s for a debate I’m having over on the cricket Forums. Thanks and Pies.
Neandertal spines weren’t unusual, and Neandertals stood as upright as we do. Paleontologists have many other reasons for thinking that Neandertals were a different species (or possibly subspecies) of human from modern Homo sapiens sapiens.
I don’t think facts will help you very much in your Cricket debate, though. In my experience, if people want to believe that scientists don’t know anything about the age of the universe, the planets, Earth, continents, rocks, and the plants and animals that used to live here — and that scientists are willing to forge fossils and falsify data to cover up how little they know — then there’s not much you can say to them.
For that world view to make sense, however, you’d have to believe that geologists, planetary scientists, paleontologists and others are hopeless bunglers and/or unscrupulous frauds and that huge chunks of science are a big conspiracy. If someone DOES believe that, then I don’t know any kind of argument that would change that person’s mind. You can’t cite scientific evidence, because the person has already declared that it’s worthless.
In disagreeing with someone like that, you don’t have to claim that scientists are always right (they aren’t); just that they are generally honest and that their basic way of going about things isn’t hopelessly off base. The big questions are whether it’s possible to understand the world by studying it, and whether generations of people who have spent their careers doing that have been acting in good faith. If the answers are “no” and “no,” then there’s not much more to be said — except to wonder what sort of knowledge is better, and why.
I just found out about some cool phobias that Musers could induce!
Agateophobia- Fear of insanity.
Allodoxaphobia- Fear of opinions.
Aeroacrophobia- Fear of open high places.
Acousticophobia- Fear of noise.
Altophobia- Fear of heights.
Anglophobia- Fear of anything or anyone English.
Anthropophobia- Fear of people or society.
Basiphobia- Inability to stand. Fear of walking or falling.
Centophobia- Fear of new things or ideas.
Chromatophobia- Fear of colors.
Ergophobia- Fear of work.
Hypnophobia- Fear of sleep or of being hypnotized.
Melanophobia- Fear of the color black.
Leporiphobia – Fear of rabbits
That’s all I could find right now. I’ll post some more later! But remember, we all have Leporiphobia!
322- You downloaded GIMP then? :D.
It’s a bit confusing at first, especially if you’re used to Photoshop or the like… you can google for some tutorials though.
It really depends on what you’re doing with it, of course
Hi! how’s your summer going. I haven’t been on in forever because I’m really freaking buisy with life, ya know. Kinda miss the blog. I don’t recognize the names on the happy birthdays so far. (isn’t that sad? I’m getting old and distanced) It’s waaaaaay rainy up here, don’t know about you guys south of the boarder. I am currently watching the magic school bus. My second favorite tv show. My favorite is Arthur. which is totaly the best ever. Sorry I’m not responding to anyone’s coments, I don’t really have time. Did anyone hear about the huge explosions in toronto. A propane thingy exploded. Only one person missing and one fatality. Which is amazing as it was in a residential area I believe. That would be a terrifying experience. It would be like being bombed (high up on my greatest fears list). I used to have dreams where toronto was transformed into this scary war place and places are being bombed. uh yeah. sorry for such a long post.
320- Well, I’m Hinging the debate around An aritcle about human-dino footprints, Cartoon history of the univere, and the bible saying the sun went arond the earth.
G’night all! I’m off to go swoon over the ships that Horatio Hornblower and his cronies sail on……….yay!
Mom is here at the moment, she’s laughing at me and says that I’m “A nut.”
~~~~~~
Somewhat unrelated….
How do watermelons keep getting bigger when there is no rain and the fields are dry?
A friend asked Mom that, and remembering Meow’s question in Muse we thought to ask it here. Robert? Rosanne? Our trusty “Q&A” columnists? (Yes, you’re still our Q&A people, Andy and Ruth are great, but they still will never hold the same place in our hearts. )
KaiYves (333): I’m going to! I’m going to sleep shortly and I’ve set my alarm so I get up after the moon has set (1:57 am). I think it might be cloudy tonight, but I hope it clears up soon!
332- Meow had a question published in Muse? Which issue?.
333- Really? What time zone?
My sister and I experimented with #6 plastic the other day… a.k.a “shrinky-dinks.” It was great fun, and we ended up with some pieces of colored plastic pendant-bead objects. Let’s give a pie for being green and reusing old plastic containers
209-Ooh that sucks. *hugs*
333-Maybe. If I can’t sleep tonight I will, but I’m supposed to get up early tomorrow. It’s not likely that I’ll be able to sleep early though.
I’m really frustrated right now because in karate today we had to do a bunch of crunches, and normally I can just sit there doing crunches all day but today I couldn’t do any. My head just felt really weird and I couldn’t move much. Then my instructor made me stop before I finished.
I cleaned off my desk yesterday so I can use it now. I plan to do my homework at it this year, but it’s probably going to be messy before school starts.
Haha. Something funny happened. My dad bet my sister and my mum that “bonks potatoes” (a family inside joke) wouldn’t get any hits on google, but he got one from a post I made on Museblog a while back. So now my family has discovered my secret online Museblog identity. Ha.
KaiYves (333): I woke up at 2:00 last night, but the sky was too cloudy to see anything. I set it again for 3:00, but it wasn’t any clearer. The Leonid meteors are in November — last night was the Perseids.
I tried at 9:00, and stayed out until eleven. I saw one bright meteor. The sky was still bright, though, and the big trees blocked Perseus because it was still low in the sky.
Then I got up at 3:45 AM and went out. I stayed out until 5:00 AM. They were supposed to be best from 4:00 to 5:00. The sky started getting bright at about five, so I came in.
And I saw 35 meteors!!! YAY!
That may be a record for me. The sky was perfectly clear, which is unusual; usually the sky is cloudy when something unusual is happening in the sky
It was very cool–almost cold. It could have been November–and it wouldn’t feel very odd. For August it was great! And now it’s going to be cool for a while still, they say!
It was very nice out. It was a bit chilly, but there was a nice breeze, and the insects were still chirping. It was cool to see the stars so clearly, and to notice their movements. Particularly when I went back out the second time, when they had moved quite a bit. I’m starting to learn the constellations, too! I’m getting there!
Oh, by the way. In the same patch of sky I was watching, I saw ten points of light move across the sky in those few hours I watched. Is it possible they were all satellites? And why did one of them appear to stop far up in the sky?
I’m sure people wondered who those strange people were in the road. (My dad came out too). Not another person was to be seen anywhere!
335 – I dunno. One of them. Fairly recent, probably, because Andy and Ruth were already doing the Q&A column. It was a question about how seedless watermelon grow if they don’t have any seeds, and the answer was really cool.
Also 335 – That sounds fun!
342 – Haha! Nice job.
My current IM status message is “Do you suffer from didaskaleinophobia?”
“Decidedly uncool weather?” I wish–we’ve had an unusually chilly and rainy summer here in Alaska. I suppose I ought to console myself with the fact that I will be making up for the lack of warmth when I start college, since I’m going to school in the southern portion of the lower 48–where it is definitely HOT this time of year….
So anyway, my bit of randomness: I just took all three WOMBATS on JKR’s website, and I thought this was really funny: The Grade 3 WOMBAT is, according to Jo, supposed to be the hardest of the three. But, I only got an A on the first (for those of you not in the know, that’s “Acceptable”–the lowest passing score), and E on the second (Exceeds Expectations–a grade above acceptable), and an O, I repeat, an O on the third, and supposed hardest WOMBAT (O is Outstanding, a grade above E, and also the highest grade achievable).
Anyways, I know I haven’t posted in awhile, and I’m sure many of you don’t know me (many of you are probably after my time of posting a lot), but I probably won’t be posting much this coming year. As unbelievable as it seems to me, I will be starting college this August–a day that always seems so far away when you’re a kid, and yet comes up on you so fast. So, I leave in less than a week–Monday the 18th, and I have to imagine that I will be too busy to write much, what with trying to maintain my GPA–I’ve been excepted to a PreVet program that guarantees me a place in vet school, provided I keep a GPA of 3.50 or greater, and don’t get more than one C in a required preprofessional course. Anyways, I’m a bit nervous about that, don’t quite see how I’m going to manage–actually, I keep flipping back and forth, half the time I feel that there’s no way I can possibly do it, while the other half I think, hey, you never got a C in highschool, only got one or two Bs, so no problem, at which point the other part of my brain kicks in again, saying yeah, but you were homeschooled, it’s not the same, you’ve never had any real deadlines, you could procrastinate all you wanted in getting it all done, at which point I start obsessing about what’s the lowest grade I can get in all of these subjects this semester and still pull a 3.5 GPA….Yeah, currently I’m worried about the Calc course I have to take for my Bio Sciences major. Since it’s 5 credits, an d I’m only taking 16 credits, I can only get a B, and no lower, because a C would drop me down below a 3.5 (since Calc is not required for the PreVet Program, it doesn’t matter as far as the C thing goes, just as far as GPA). Anyway, I just don’t see how I can get a good grade in Calc, given that I don’t feel I know trig well enough to differentiate and integrate trigonometric equations (one of the many calculus concepts that I had so mjuch trouble with in HS)–I could integrate/differentiate algebraic equations without too much difficultly, but trig equations? No bloody way.
Anyway, sorry about that ridiculously long venting session–I think I just had to get it all out…I feel better now =)
So, as I was saying, I will probably be too busy to write much, but I will be stopping by the September Muse mag thread….
The weather of the past few days (in my neck of the woods) has been cool, breezy and nice. I’m wearing a sweatshirt right now, actually. And my feet are cold.
My right ankle hurts. It’s been doing this since yesterday morning, for no particular reason that I can imagine……poop.
Hello, Luna! Good to see you! I’m sure you’ll do a great job in college.
Red-tailed HAWK- you saw 35 meteors? That’s flamablamablous! We had a complete cloud-covered sky here in Pittsburgh. It’s only partly cloudy today, so I might try again tonight, even though it’s not peak viewing time.
355 – It was an inside joke that my friend and I had, and one day I randomly posted it on MuseBlog and Andy and Ruth picked it. My friend (who has read a few of my Muses, but not many) was jealous that I got in with “our question”.
362: The WOMBAT is a quiz on JK Rowling’s website. Since it’s past the times the WOMBATs were originally posted, you can’t just get there by going to the WOMBAT link on the homepage–but with a little bit of exploration, you can find them if you want!
344- I was hurrying to finnish on MB so I could go to sleep early and wake up early for the PERSEIDS, so I accidentally wrote the name of the wrong meteor shower. But yes, I know that the LEONIDS are in November.
348- Here in NY we had clouds with a few patches of clear sky, through which I saw about ten meteors. Four or five were very bright.
If the points of light moved in an arc, made no noise, and did not blink, they probably were satellites.
Hey everyone! I’m baaaaaack!
That was a good vacation, except it rained for the first two days. But the last day was beautiful. My cousins dug a huge hole and buried me vertically up to my head in sand. The only problem was,I couldn’t get out, so they had to dig all the way down again to get me out. Whopee, I spent a total of 45 minutes in that hole because everyone was to tired to dig me out right away.
Sorry to double post, but…
I’ve been thinking for a bit and I came up with an idea. Tell me what you guys think. (I know this probably belonged on the random morphing Chameleon thread, but since they stopped talking about computers I need somewhere else to talk.)
What if I made a ‘Muses’ music video, starring none other than our beloved Muses in a band? I’ve already come up with an idea for their advertising poster, and some songs I could have them play. I have a tie between the four songs I like best and that I think are most do-able. They are ‘Flathead’ by The Fratellis, ‘Viva La Vida’, by Coldplay, ‘Don’t Stop Beleivin'”, by Journey, and ‘Starlight’, by (what a coincidence!) Muse.
Here’s my idea for the poster:
The Fishing For Gold Record Corporation proudly presents:
THE LIVE FROM MUSEICA TOUR!
Featuring our platinum record band, ‘Kokopelli and Company’!
With…
KOKOPELLI on Lead Vocals!
URANIA on Lead Guitar!
PWT on Bass Guitar!
AEIOU on Keytar!
CHAD on drums!
FEATHER on keyboard and piano!
CRRAW on Backup Vocals!
MIMI on Backup Guitar!
and BO on Xylophone and Bells!
This front page band of multi-talented wonder beings are sure to bring you the delight and the music satisfaction you need, with songs you know and love! Make sure you buy your tickets to their next showing, and be sure to sdownload the Live From Museica tour music videos! (Available soon on our website!)
For the music video(s), I might need a little help. If you’d like, I can draw up some of my thoughts. Would anyone be interested in helping me who’s got some computer and animation experience? If so, that would be great. I have a really good idea for these videos, I just need a little help getting started with animation and stuff like that. I’m not exactly a natural.
I can help/experiment with Flash MX. I’m a beginner, but I know the basics. I can also do Animation shop, but that’s no good for a music video.
Speaking of which, I made a video of Koko throwing a pie on Flash, just to try it out. Should I send it to the GAPAs? It’s related to MuseBlog, obviously, but I always feel like I’m spamming them when I send an email like that, not really related to any current discussions. Meh.
375- I know. I’ve been thinking a lot though, and I think that the flute should be set aside, at least for the time being. I can’t find any good songs with flutes, And besides, it is ‘Kokopelli and Company’, so I naturally figure that he should be the lead singer. All of the songs I’m thinking of have a male lead vocal. Whatever help you can give, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
That”s an amazing picture. Ten trillion cheers for Lady Bunniful.
It’s interesting, having no comments on the random thread. There’ll surely be many though, once I check in the morning. Heh.
awesome pic! It’s so pretty!
Poo.
I didn’t get first post. *pouts*
Flamablamablous picture, Rebecca! It looks kind of like bubbles, because when they’re in the sun they get that rainbow-swirly-shiny look. Are they bubbles?
(3) They’re actually partially melted ice cubes sitting in a puddle of watercolor paint, though you’re right, the blue paint and the iridescent Kokopellis make them look rather bubbly.
4- Interesting technique… I’ll have to try that sometime.
Gee, they reminded me of blown glass.
So, anybody else watching the Perseid meteors on the 12th?
AWESOME PICTURE!
4-Wow! That’s amazing. However did you do that?! *Gasps with astonishment*
6-Me! Did you ever see my comment last month? If not, well, I watched the space station go over last month. Did you?
It was really neat, but nobody here seemed to care. I guess we’re alone in caring about the night sky above us!
Red-tailed HAWK
(7) I was paying attention, HAWK. NASA has a Web page that calculates which orbiting objects are passing over your longitude and latitude on any given night and tells you where and when to watch for them. I don’t have the URL handy, but I’m sure KaiYves does. Some people watch satellites as a hobby and get a special kick out of spotting the spy satellites that officially aren’t up there.
Has anyone here seen Iridium flares? They’re reflections from mirrored communications satelites that sweep across the Earth like the spots from a disco globe. If you’re standing in the right place when one of them passes, you see a sudden flash in the sky. Great fun!
Skylab passed over my parents’ house during its reentry in 1979. I was in the driveway helping my father recharge a car battery and got a good look at it. It was much brighter and slower-moving than I expected it to be — very dramatic!
Love, Love, Love, love, love, love the pic! I’ve set it as my desktop backgrond!
Woah! Cool picture! And that’s a neat way to make it, I thought it was purely computer generated.
Sorry for the double post, but I was just wondering if we could maybe have a thread about colleges? People could give advice about which colleges are good (or bad) and applications and all that good stuff.
8–the last time I saw a meteor shower, the moon was full, so it wasn’t all that great. But I’ve seen the Space Station go over several times, it’s not all that spectacular but it’s strange to think we built it. It looks utterly insignificant amongst all the stars; makes you think.
oooh…. That’s such a pretty picture.
7- I left a comment about it.
OH! That is a nice picture!
That is such an amazing picture. I would totally set it as my desktop background, if a picture of my soccer team wasn’t already there.
Speaking of my soccer team, we have another soccer tournament starting today! This is the annual tournament that my club hosts, so we’re going to be trying extra hard to win. I’m also going to be watching lots of other games by teams that my friends are on. Which is kind of funny, because most of my friends belong to the same club I do.
On a completely different note, it’s so unreal that the comment boxes aren’t shrinking anymore. (Knock on wood!)
Yay! coolness!
had to get that out.
Now that I’ve finished acting like that…well, what shall we do on the thread?
Hmmm…it’s hot. Maybe I’ll go jump in a river…
Ahhhhhh. Today is family reunion night. I’m really excited about seeing my cousins, of whom I haven’t seen in 2 years! *is excited*
LUV DA PIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ooh! Pretty colors!
Well, I cracked. I talked to an RA and told her everything I thought was bad about my roommate and her “friends”. She listened thoughtfully and said that I may be able to switch rooms.
Yay! I also yelled at them at class.
333 (Alice on the previous random thread)~ Yes, I’m lucky again. Firing it off was quite more exciting than being the powder monkey……wheeee!!!!! *BOOM!!!!*
Rebecca, I like this picture, it’s so beautiful!!
I’m at the library (surprise, surprise), the Cartoon History of the Universe came in, yay!
I hope I get to go to the library later. I want my dad to drive me because walking is bad. It’s a busy road and a long walk.
I’m going to have library withdrawal. I’ve only been there once this summer and it was only for 1/2 hour because I walked and it takes a whole hour just to get there.
So, hi. I just thought I’d drop by for a few minutes.
Wunnerful pic, by the way, Rebecca.
WOW! Fantabulous! I ♥ it!
So do my bunnies:
lady bunniful iz amazing
I agree, though your spelling it that way makes me think of lolcats.
Pretty picture- I’ll have to see if I can make that my computer back ground, too. I think everyone except my mom is tired of seeing Storm Large’s face when ever we get on.
Ah ha! I have posted elsewhere! Left my comfort zone! What else shall I do with this caffeine induced courage? Perhaps I shall use the dreaded telephone and commune vocally with the outside world…
(25)
Im in ur blog
Photoshopping ur Muses
27-*cracks up* You should find a picture of Devil smiling really big and photoshop that onto a picture of a computor chair in front of a computor or something.
Okay, don’t, but I’d be funny.
Som freakiness for you all.
27-Hee hee!
29
11) I’m so for that also. We have a college/university/higher education thread, but I dunno.
I have to start visiting colleges this year, one of the approximately 9000 other things I have to do.
Princeton Review’s website and collegeboard (esp. collegeboard, to be honest) are great sites to use, although the “percent admitted” info usually makes me weep a little..
For those of you who asked how the graphic was put together, I’ve posted some of the basic parts on the Incredible Morphing Chameleon Thread, since that fits in with the conversation over there.
If you want a larger image for desktops or whatnot, I’ve uploaded one to Photobucket.
And thanks for all your comments! MuseBloggers are an inspiration to work for.
23- DEATH TO BUNNIES! BUNNIES ARE EVIL! BUNNIES ARE MURDEROUS! BUNNIES ARE TRYING TO TAKE OVER MB!
29- *dies*
29-*shudders*
*slowly walks away*
I can give college advice and such if people want given that I did the whole searching for/applying to thing last year and I’ll be attending one this year. I’m not entirely sure how much spare time I’ll have in the school year though so we’ll see how often I’ll be able to get on but I’d like to help.
Also. Small plug but small liberal arts colleges are excellent! Since they are small you get plenty of personal attention and feedback on your work but there is also a variety of classes available.
29-How are people posting graphics now? I thought the GAPAs had made it impossible because of safety concerns, and now many are posting their own pictures.
Red-tailed HAWK
(36) Don’t worry, HAWK. No one is posting pictures, as they can only be added through the editing window. The comments box strips them out. NAPOI tried to post a link and I turned it into a graphic.
Huh? I posted here but it isn’t here. Hmmm. Anyway…
I’m back, in case you haven’t yet noticed!
29- Whoa. Whose side are you on, anyway?
37-Ahh, that makes perfect sense, thank you. People were referring to the links they were putting in their comments, and you turned them into graphics, thus making the comment still make sense.
That’s very nice of you to do!
Red-tailed HAWK
(39) Be it noted that we don’t encourage the practice and don’t always post the graphics. They’re more likely to pass muster if they’re especially relevant or if a GAPA is sufficiently amused.
OMG! I can’t believe it! OK, one my cousins is my age and when I saw him 2 years ago I was slightly taller than him. Anyway, now he’s more then a head taller then me and he looks ENTIRELY different!
*dies* Plus, his personality has warped. He didn’t even say “Hi” to me. He just mumbled something as a walked in the room. For the rest of the evening, he would barely look at me! Hello? What happened? I’m not going to bite you! Oh well. At least my other cousins are still fun to be around. *sigh*
40-Of course, I know you have way too much to do already, and I don’t want to add more. I pretty much never post external links anyway, because I know you don’t want them. If I do, I make sure you know it’s there, so you can decide if it’s safe or not.
But I try not to do that, either.
But that HPB is rather amusing, I must say
I may have to double post. Hold on, I’m sending out emergency telegrams to a couple of key threads where I hope to get the attention of the most people. Sorry for any trouble.
Hey! Everybody head on down to the Hare and Hedgepig! Today is GAPA appreciation day and we are having a celebration for our dear GAPAs!
41 – Yeah, after my soccer tournament last weekend we went to visit some friends of my parents and their kids, who are sort of like the cousins I never had. We’ve only seen them once since they moved 6 years ago, but the oldest boy (about 8 months older then me) looked pretty much the same. And I don’t think he said one word to me the whole time.
So, I just got back from the soccer complex, where I’ve been for the past 7 hours. See, first I played my soccer game (we lost 3-1, but I scored our only goal in the last five minutes) and then we went and watched C’s team’s soccer game (they won 2-1, but C only played about half the game), and then watched my brother’s soccer game (they lost 6-0 to a really good team).
It was fun.
Urk, tonight at work somebody dropped the butter can while putting it in the fridge… Poor guy, his forearms looked like they’d been subjected to about six hours of brutal sunshine on some beach somewhere. Anyway, it took about two week’s worth of rags to mop up the mess, followed by three intense mop sessions, and the floor was still a bit sticky.
On a side note, how is it that canola oil can be stick and slippery at the same time? Strange.
And this certainly doesn’t make me want to eat the popcorn (which tastes like cardboard, by the way) any time soon.
It also makes me laugh when people say, “get me a large popcorn with lotsa butter, and some [insert candy here, usually swedish fish], and a large diet pepsi.” …People are very silly, sometimes.
Wow, it’s late…again.
So anyhoo, my mom and I went to the pattern store and looked at patterns and she bought me a shirt pattern which I will lengthen extremely and turn into a semi-Empire dress! Hoorah!
And then I went and listened to music for an hour and ate homemade pizza, after which I got to play the harmonium and talk about the SCA. And then I waited for Eva to get off work and we walked home and went to her house and worked on Tarot cards. And then the kittens disappeared. And we were like, “What the heck?” and searched for about forty-five minutes. And then I was like, “Oh my gosh! It’s the tangible magic we were looking for! They’ve been spirited away to Fairyland!”
And then we found them in the top drawer of her desk, and Eva wrote “Fairie Land Inside” on it.
Yay! Tax-free weekend!
I think there should be a thread about funny signs. I saw one in Indiana that said “entry by appointment or chance”. Does anyone else have funny signs they’d like to share?
49 – “No right turn.” Then below, in smaller print: “Right turn only.”
Once, I went to the Mississippi River (which had flooded a little bit at a time), and I had to laugh at this sign:
NO SKATEBOARDS
NO BIKES
NO PARKING: Violators will be towed.
The pole part was underwater.
So, no biking underwater, kiddies!
27- im in ur gras…
bein a ninja!
i dont know what website thatz from, but my sister has a picture of a kitten sitting ur gras, bein a ninja.
50-
49- speaking of funny signs, what about funny t-shirts?
i want 1 that says ‘I have a photographic memory, but somtimes it runs out of film…’ That would be funny. My friend Nick and i came up with that.
53 – Ha, that’s nice.
I love the “I Beg to Differ” t-shirt.
54- I do to. getting it soon.
55 – Me too! With birthday money! *a month after my birthday*
What is with everyone and the I beg to differ shirts?
57~ I thought they were amusing, but I still can’t figure what relevance they have to MB, or what the graphic on them is……..Brilliance, but rather mad…….Lady B.?
58- “Brilliance, but rather mad” Is the best way to driscribe this place.
57,58- Are you two new? *pies*
“I beg to differ” came out of a discussion on the Complaints and Rants thread. The graphic image is a cat tessellation I designed some time ago. A comment of POSOC’s made me think of it, and several people requested the shirt.
59~ Flatulus has been around for awhile, Jordan’s Little Hippie is an alter ego who may or may not be altering their writing style to use tildes to respond to other comments. I suppose that may be all part of the deception, or maybe forgetfulness.
Yes, “brilliance, but rather mad’ is a nice way of putting it…..Hmm, maybe someone should go and see who this mysterious person is?
60~ Ah, I see.
Idea: We should have another MuseBlog Sig edition soonish. There’s lots more new peeps who haven’t signed their names, and old peeps who aren’t here anymore…
64- I completely agree.
Another funny shirt is one that has a picture of a TIE fighter on it and says “Chicks dig my sweet ride”.
Sorry for the double post, but I am also very annoyed that someone implied that I was a n00b!
66- I didn’t imply you were a n00b. I just didn’t know if you were new or not.
64 – Nice idea!
I ♥ “I Beg To Differ”. That is my favoritist.
64 – Yes, I was still a neophyte when the old one came out.
I was around for the first T-shirts, but I didn’t get my name in on time, and I’m on the second. That was a while ago, though, so a new one might be a good idea.
I spent another 7 hours at the soccer complex today.
I got there at 11:30 to scout the team my team was playing in the afternoon with some of my teammates and my coach, and then my brother had a game, and then I hung around for a while and watched about 10 minutes of C’s game, and then I had a game (we lost, 3-0) and then my brother had another game and a hung out with one of my friends during that.
If you think 7 hours is bad, though, you should consider that my friend had been there for almost 11 hours. From 7am to about 6. Wow.
49) OK, one time when my family was on vacation, we drove past an adult video store. There was a huge billboard in front of it by the “Church of Christ”. It had a huge picture of Jesus on it and this quote, “Jesus it watching over you”
I bet that hurt somebodies business……..
This has nothing to do with the discussion ((Was there one???)) ,but MY BIRTHDAY IS TOMMOROW!!! yay!!!
RE signs: One time, there was a sign that said “Road Cloased.”
Interesting. The stupidest sign I ever saw was–official, too–“Sweat Cron–low price” (
)
71-
wow.
65- You’ve been around for a while.
59- Exactly.
Road Cloased? Yeas, this road is cloased. Noa, you can’t come ian!
I’m sitting in my room chewing gumballs and singing the Beatles. What a boring Sunday this is. But enough about me. How’s life, Musers?
The movie Space Chimps has inspired me! I want a bunch of my friends to sew lab coats with me, and then for Halloween we can be a group of scientists. It’ll look really funny when we’re all running around the track during Run for the Arts. The nerds will make the year book at last!
50- I think I would just go straight in confusion, therefor probably missing the right turn I needed to make.
64- Yeah! *runs off to work on signature*
Yay, I’m going to be in WI at the time of the Milwaukee Irish Fest, JOYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope that I can go at least one day and see Gaelic Storm, and I’m looking to see what other groups are playing this year………and we’re going on the train this time, so I’ll be able to actually MOVE when we get to Grandma and Grandpa’s house instead of being crippled from 16 hours in the car…..I’m so HAPPY!! Even if it is coach class on the way out.
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!! *is happy*
Signatures…..Rebecca, I gae you mine last time you were here, right? Is it the one with my name inside of half a violin? I think so……anyway, you’ve got it already, so use it when you please.
I wont my signature in Muse! *freaks out*
Sorry, I was having a moment.
once we saw a sign that said ‘Hit a Worker – $10,000’ We thought it was amusing because it seemed to say that the money was a prize and not a fine.
Can you please make the signatures due by later than August 8 or 9, please? I have no camera/scanner here at nerd camp, nor do I have access to one. Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaase, GAPAs?!?!?!?!
76) Fascinating! How did you manage to sing with a gum ball in your mouth?
Signatures? Cool!
83~ I’ve done that before……I’ve actually played the violin with gum in my mouth too, but I wouldn’t recommend it…….
My feet are cold. And I want more chocolate. *gets another malted milk ball* Yuuuuummmmmmmmmm……. *gets another*
Ya know, I should get out of the house, it’s such a lovely day. And the chocolate might not be able to call as loudly either.
I can’t think of any funny signs, but the address of Space Academy is One Tranquility Base, and it’s SUPER funny to hear a councilor order pizza for you.
82 – I’m sure they’ll give us lots of time.
81-heh “hit a cone, $5000. hit a bulldozer, $1000”
Funny signs:
In big letters: CAUTION. THIS SIGN HAS SHARP EDGES. DO NOT TOUCH THE EDGES OF THIS SIGN.
In small letters underneath: Also, the bridge is out ahead.
Hit all three and earn a special prize: 35 years in prison!
83- Usually I just stuff it in my cheek, but it still sounds muffly anyways.
I just finished watching ‘Titanic’, and I can’t stop crying. It’s just so sad what those people went through, and to see it happen all over again is just mind-numbing.
Plus also, why can’t every guy be like Jack?!? I hated it when he (( SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER!!!)) died, it was the saddest thing I ever saw! Okay, well maybe not the saddest…but I still cried my eyes out. That was probably the most I’ve cried in my entire life. *sob* Which is actually kind of pathetic, if you think about it. *rants on and on*
Wait a minute, what are the signatures?
Hit a Wung: Death by Bloggers( or, as a reward for good behavior, 10-15 serving as a pie dummy)
90 – I thought you may find this funny. WARNING: “TITANIC” AND “STAR WARS” SPOILERS AHEAD.
~Why Star Wars is better than Titanic~
1. Titanic may be big, but it doesn’t have hyperdrive.
2. Star Wars has way better action figure potential.
3. Yoda could use the Force to just lift Titanic out of the water.
4. Leia is a princess, a senator, a diplomat, a freedom fighter, a brilliant strategist, and Jedi material; Rose is just cute marriage bait.
5. Ewoks throw better parties than either first class or steerage.
6. When flying towards the Titanic, Wedge couldn’t say, “Wow! Look at the size of that thing!” with any sincerity.
7. It would be much scarier to get chased around the boat by an evil madman with a lightsaber as opposed to an idiot with a handgun.
8a. Titanic is egalitarian in that it portrays poor people as sympathetic characters. Star Wars is egalitarian by promoting bug-eyed amphibians to the rank of Admiral.
8b. Said bug-eyed amphibious Admiral manages not to lose his ship.
9. We know Cal is the bad guy because he greases his hair, sneers at the poor, and treats his fiance like property. We know Darth Vader is the bad guy because he wears an ominous, voluminous black cape and mysterious mask, strangles people with a glance and blows up entire planets for sport.
10. Yeah, okay, so Leo can dance…but can he fly an X-wing?
11. People have never lost their lives trying to recreate scenes from Star Wars on the bow of a cruise liner.
12. Rose braves icy water to rescue her man. Leia braves Jabba the Hutt. Now c’mon… who’s really the brave one here?
13. Two words: Harrison Ford.
14. There are always more than enough escape pods in Star Wars.
15. Do you have any idea what the Empire does to self-proclaimed “kings of the world”?
16. If Luke were handcuffed to a pipe below decks in a sinking ship, he would either…
A: Cut himself free with his lightsaber
B: Use the Force to get the key
C: Han Solo would come in at the last second and blast the cuffs off
17. “I’d rather be his whore than your wife” just doesn’t have the same sting as “I’d rather kiss a Wookiee.”
18. We all knew the boat was gonna sink, but who was ready for “No, I am your father.” ???
19. Han Solo would’ve missed that dang iceberg!
20. Stormtroopers blast big holes in stupid minor characters; everyone in Titanic was a stupid minor character.
21. Han, though frozen solid in carbonite and turned into a wall ornament, returns in excellent health to mount a successful mission against the Empire at Endor, crushing the enemy and single-handedly paving the way for a brilliant air campaign which results in the destruction of the Empire’s second attempt at a Death Star, and claims the heart of his woman with whom he will live happily ever after. Jack, on the other hand, simply freezes.
ye,yes, what signatures?
the picture is awesome!! it is now my descktop background. but i need the papsicle picture!! is there somewhere i can find it? i am making a magazine holder and i am decopaugeing the random thread pictures on it. but i forgot to get the musesicle picture
ATTENTION ALL FORMER AND CURRENT MUSEICAN CITIZENS!!
Under the new system of government, all Museican citizens are eligible to vote on laws in the House of Commons. The House is currently debating a law which will provide for wung rights. Please come to vote on it today.
Re: Funny signs- I saw this one outside a church that said “Thou Shall Not Park”.
I went to a preduction of Godspell that my girlfriend was in. It was pretty amazing, even better than the movie. It wasn’t all hippie like the movie was, but it was post-apocolyptic, and the color scheme for the costumes were black, grey, pink, purple and blue. Clarissa had the best costume. She looked like a gothic doll, and she had blue and black makeup on. All the costumes were great though, and it was shortish, so it wasn’t all boring. BEST Godspell ever.
I forgot! Alice and Midnight Fiddler guess what I did yesterday? We went to look at tall ships! There were three in my state and we went to go look at them. We took a tour of each and I took a ton of pictures of coiled up lines. There were a lot of lines and they looked sort of cool. I thought you’d enjoy hearing that I’d done that. I was thinking of you guys!
I was about to ask the same thing. by the way yes I am new
(94) The Musesicles are still on the third installment of the July random thread, if you open it.
(98) Welcome! Are you asking about the signatures? Every so often we make special editions of the Musewear available from our online boutique, Musery Loves Company, with signatures on the back as if other MuseBloggers have signed their names there. Some of the signatures are quite elaborate. (I like the signature mousepads, myself.) To have yours added, just send a graphics file to us at “gapa at musefanpage.com” (with “@” instead of “at”). Some formats work better than others, though. Rebecca can give you the rundown.
90) I continually see the last half of that movie on tv, it really is sad…The whole story of the Titanic is really interesting, when I was younger I used to know everything about it. I had all these books…It’s weird to think that was almost a hundred years ago, huh?
93- After reading 21, I can honestly say “ROFL” for the second time in my life.
I’m something of a Titanic buff and general fan of Doctor Robert Ballard, the guy who found the wreck.
98) Hi batuquieroluanda! *pies*
OK thanks Robert. hi kiwimuncher! I’m surprised you can spell that ( call me BDL or something like that)
and thanks for the pies *back at you*
93- I’ve never seen Titanic, so that has rather less impact than otherwise. But it’s funny anyway.
97- Cool! I haven’t been on a tallship since last summer…ergh.
Let’s be perfectly honest. Titanic was as long as “Dream Girls”, and frankly, almost as tedious.
I don’t feel well. My stomache hurts a bit, and my left leg does too. The leg is explainable, because I just finished playing three soccer games in a weekend, but I’m not sure about the stomache. At first I thought I might just be hungry, but I ate something (not a ton, but something) and it still feels weird. -pathetic-
(94) marfwarrior, most of the Random Thread pictures can be found in one of my public Photobucket albums and its subalbums.
As far as I know this is the first time my work has ever been decoupaged. I feel honored and delighted.
108) *gives medicine* There! All better!
108) thanks for being refreshingly random. If people want to dispute about movies they should go to the polling place.
11) Why the Polling Place?
93- *cracks up, laughs hysterically* Ok, ok, so you have a point. But it’s still a good movie. ‘Learn your lesson, you must!’ Heck, Leo DeCaprio could be a Jedi Master if he really wanted. Think before thy act, young Padowan.
Don’t get me wrong, though. Star Wars rocks.
111 – Cool, I think this is the first time I’ve been called refreshingly random.
Moderation seems to be strange lately – or is it just me? It seems to come in clumps of five or six posts, many minutes apart. Is this because people aren’t posting, because GAPAs aren’t moderating, or some other cause entirely?
114-Isn’t that how it always is? A GAPA goes on every few minutes and moderates the few that have collected in the few minutes they were away.
Can the deadline for the signatures be a little ways off? I don’t want to hold people up but I want to be on there.
Red-tailed HAWK
114- I perceive the same thing. GAPA’s, are you still awake? Not to place blame. It’s probably another unidentified cause. It doesn’t hurt to check, though.
I’m verrrrry tired. Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry verrrrrrrrrrrrrry tired. I just watched a really funny Youtube video from Mega64, called Resident Evil 4. No, t’s not the video game. It’s someone imiating the video game in the middle of the street and bugging random people until the buggers actually get arrested… I know it sounds boring, but it’s hilarious.
See, this is why I’m a dork. THIS is what I do with my spare time.
114- I don’t know. however, the GAPA’s moderation window shows 5 or 6 coments, so that might help explain it.
115 – Right, but it seems to me like it’s even longer apart than normal recently. I dunno.
117 – That could be part of it.
118- I agree. It’s strange. My computer moves really slowly, though. Maybe that’s it.
At least a couple of us are here, but I’ve been interrupted by an unusual number of telephone calls. Weekends are often more subject to irregularities in moderation coverage just by their nature.
Re: signatures. You can send them in whenever you like. August has too many unresolved and unpredictable (offblog) issues in the air at present to set any kind of deadline. We should have a better idea towards the end of the month.
I don’t think anything unusual is happening, except that I took a nap this afternoon and returned to find 21 comments in the queue. So maybe slightly higher-than-average activity combined with slightly more-intermittent-than-average moderation has made things seem choppy.
“Queue” is my favorite word of the day.
120, 121 – Oh, okay! Just wondering!
121, last sentence – Can you say that 10 times fast? Queue queue queue queue queue queue queue queue queue queue!
101, 106 – I know!!! I completely cracked up when I read it!!!
We had a talent show… OMG it was hilarious!!!! These people sag “Nerdilicious” and had a list of “You know you’re Nerdy When…” and the RAs did “The Mysterious Ticking Noise”… *cracks up* *is looked at oddly*
121-i think my favorite thing about the word queue is pronouncing it how it’s spelled
like qwe-we
My brother just came into my room to brag about how he caught Regice in his Pokemon game before me. Ummm…like I care? At least I didn’t spend the past 3 days doing that.
112) I dunno, it just seems like most of the discussions like that happen there
I think I’m going queue-queue. (HEH! It’s a play on words!)
It’s like kyew-kyew. Whee-hew.
If you think the mysterious ticking noise is funny regular, just watch it SPED UP * giglles loudly* Ron sounds like a chipmunk on steroids.
126 – The Movies thread would probably be better for that particular conversation.
Welcome to MuseBlog, by the way!
Hello All!
I am back home from my 3 weeks of vacationing! Did you miss me?
My trip is/was too long to put all here, so here’s a random list.
Random events/quotes/musings from my trip:
I painted a ceramic penguin and named it Dwntn. (big surprise)
Day camp at the YMCA of the Rockies was AWESOME!
River rafting is my new favorite outdoor activity.
I HATE Las Vegas. The only good thing there is Cirque du Soleil.
Cirque du Soleil’s show ‘O’ is the best performance of anything I’ve ever
seen.
My mom’s side of the family is amazingly fun and awesome.
Putt-putt golf can give you serious head injuries.
The pool staff at the YMCA are stupid and just don’t like Thursday’s Teen
Night Swim thing so they threw us out.
I love my 20- month-old step-cousin’s daughter, and she loved Dwntn, so I
painted her a penguin too!
I have reinstituted my Harry Potter obsessedness.
I HAVE NOT BEEN ON THE MUSEBLOG FOR THREE
WEEKS!!!!!!!!!
Twice this week, I said something and accidentally sounded like Pegasus,
and cracked myself up.
Zion Canyon National Park is amazing! I hiked the Narrows!
There you go. Also random:
Thai peanut sauce has a very annoying flavor.
123- *squeals* Ooo- The Mysterious Ticking Nose! I love it so- the PPPs are amazing. Have you seen Wizard Swears?
You know what sounds really attractive? Handmade soap. I love reading the flavors(?) on soap-selling websites. Citrus scents are the best.
Noise- I meant noise! Meh… I need to slow down and think.
I love the PPPs! And Wizard Swears is hilarious.
I once attempted to recite TMTN onto my friend’s cellphone. But, due to the fact that there are like 6 people talking at once, it turned out strangely.
Has anyone been on the PPP website lately? They have a “PPP Playground” up. It’s kind of fun.
130, 133- Have you seen the rest of Neil Cicierega’s videos? That guy is a genius.
Also, his sister is an amazing digital artist.
Not like I stalk their livejournals or anything.
Potter Puppet Pals is PPP right?
If so, isn’t it funny how they seemed to know dumbledore was gay a while back?
128) yeah? I hadn’t noticed that thread yet. Thanks. By the way, is there somewhere I can do stuff other than here or the neophyte place? Like maybe a Books thread? I mean, I know there’s no law against butting in on stuff, but it would be nice to be somewhere that I know what they’re talking about (I don’t really see that many movies)
(136) The current Books and Reading thread is here:
https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1409
136 – There’s all kinds of interesting threads. Only a few are on the Recent Posts section. They should all be listed on the What’s Here page (there’s a link to it at the top of each page), if you’d like to check them out.
OK thanks. I’ll go check it/them out.
So, GAPAs, we can send signatures to you anytime this month? Really? *thinks about sending GAPAs signature*
Arg. School starts back up soon.
Poo. I like summer. I wont be able to frequent the blog as much when school starts.
134- Yeah, I’ve seen most of them. Neil is so funny! Potter Puppet Pals remain my favorite of his creations, still.
141-
.
Re: Signatures- About how big should they be, pixel-wise? Or will they be resized anyway?
(142) Basic guidelines from last time can be found here. As I’ve said before, no one has ever sent a file that was too big. Resizing is almost always necessary, and reducing produces better results than enlarging.
Waitwaitwait.
For the signatures, is it your real name, or your blog name? Or both?
Blog names, please. You can see the previous editions at Musery.
134- Nope, just the Potter Puppet Pals ones. I don’t really get on You Tube that much…
135- Yeah! I wonder if they were just doing it to be funny, though, and didn’t really know that it was true.
Yes! I created mine…except its in Paint. How do I email out of Paint, anyone? GAPAs? Bloggers?
147- Save it as a jpg, bmp, png, or gif file, as Lady B. says in the link at comment 143. Then send it as an attachment in an email to the GAPAs.
I drew mine- now I just have to wait for my dad to get home and help me send it.
Has anyone seen the Potter Potter Potter video? It’s funny! *sings*A Snape! A Snape! Oh, it’s a Sna-ape…
GAPAs, I have sent the file as an attachment. Please check your inbox!
GAPA’S, what’s your email adress again? I need to send mine.
gapa[at]musefanpage.com
Thanks yew, Robert. The signature is on its’ way!
I made a candle yesterday! It’s three layers of purple and scented lavender… thanks to the people on the R&R thread, I’ve got a birthday present for my girlfriend! *happy*
{}
——
——
——
That’s an attempt at a candle, btw.
I LOVE ‘Wizard Swears’!
Here, I found something funny.
IF NEIL CICIEREGA DIRECTED AN HP MOVIE…
Dumbledore: What does he mean by, ‘*is naked*’? Or ‘Who or you, or more importantly, where the hell am I?’????
Harry: …*is stuck up*?
Ron: I have a ridiculously high voice?
Hermione: My voice is lower than Ron’s?
Voldemort: My voice echoes??? AWESOME!!!!
Snape: Hm… where’s my script? Not over here… not over there… Hmm… It’s kind of… catchy…
PPP? I will have to see this…….
156 – YOUHAVETOSEETHEMTHEY’REHILARIOUSPLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEWATCHTHEM!!!!
OMG! They are hilarious!
.
*bother bother bother bother bother bother other bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother other bother bother bother bother bother other bother bother bother bother bother other bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother other bother bother bother bother bother etc.*
I was just at the Chicago Botanical Gardens! (GAPA, Snip the Chicago if you want to)
I love it there! I went thru a Dis Cam very quickly! I need to get the photos devopleped!
animutations >>>>>>>>> potter puppet pals
especially Team Rocket’s Journey Through Time and Space
LOVE IT
also the clown quartet…lolol dying just thinking about it
155- NC directing an HP movie? That would be insanely awesome. Off-the-charts awesome. Almost as awesome as an 100-page Muse. All hail PPP!
161- Don’t forget insanely hilarious!
“That was fun. I liked the part where he stopped moving.”
XD XD XD XD XD XD
I love potter puppet pals.
Post 159?
155- Bwahahaha! That was brilliant! I choked on my cookie at the Snape part.
159) cool! I heard that those gardens were very nice!
Yes. Snape is awesomely awesome. He is my hero.
164- It’s very amusing how Neville is a butternut squash.
I’ve been using one of those “How to Draw” books, and it really works! I drew a helicopter that really looked like a helicopter!
PPP: I’ve only seen parts, and I don’t have a long enough attention span for those. I think that may be an indicator of extreme ADD.
I just realized how much taekwondo actually controls my life. Next weekend I’m going to testings Friday night, Saturday morning/afternoon, and a party for taekwondo instructors Sunday afternoon. I also go to regular class (teaching and taking) Monday through Thursday most weeks, and if I wasn’t at my dad’s house Friday and Saturday I’d probably go on those days too.
I love taekwondo!!! It’s pretty much the only thing that forces me to see humans during the summer, otherwise I would become a recluse.
(168) So the only time you see other people during the summer is when you’re punching and kicking them?
oxlin has a driver’s license!
Clear the roads!
Butternut squash s very yummylicious!
168 – It’s about the same with me and soccer. I usually have my practices on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. When I don’t have practice on Mondays or Thursdays I go to my brother’s practices. During the regular season I have games every Saturday, and sometimes Sundays, and often during the summer we have weekend-long tournaments. I go to soccer camps whenever I can, and I sometimes wish that we had practices even more often.
170 – Egad!
170) Congrats! That’s awesome.
170- Sweet! Have fun driving!
172- That it is!
PPP Snape is my bestfriend.
Neil is intensly chill. He’s my bestfriend too.
ANYway. Uh…
Oh. I found my iPod Mini that I lost two years ago. It was in my bookcase (?). I got it from Clarissa at the sixth grade play. We’re always laughing at that. She gave this random iPod to a guy she barely met… and then a year later we’re going out! I guess I always owed her…
170- Congrats! :D.
I don’t think Neil’s other videos get as much hype as they should. The PPP’s steal it all, though they are quite wonderful, but so are his others. Eh.
170-wooo!
i’m prolly gonna have to pay to get my temps renewed again >.< there’s no way i’ll get 50 hours by august 30 at this rate
i drove downtown today, looking for moneys at funeral homes. i’m seeing if they need people to play taps
i didn’t kill anybody, which is good, right?
I leave tomorrow. For two weeks of camping. I’ll be back on my birthday.
Plus a sleeping pad.
I have ONE duffel bag in which to fit the entire list they gave me.
SO MUCH STUFF.
-dies-
Anyhoo, I’ll be away two weeks. I’ve never been away for longer than nine days…
But we don’t leave until tomorrow.
179- Have fun!
179) Well, have fun. I know what you mean about those bags! Evey other year, my family (4 people) goes on vacation for a whole month. We pack everything we need in 4 suitcases (carry on luggage for the plane) and 1 backpack.
179- Have fun anyway! I feel the same way. My family’s going on vacation this Saturday and things have been terribly busy around my house. Any way, I get half a suitcase and a backpack for all my stuff, and I have a LOT of stuff. My poor laptop, where is it going to go?
My grandparents called this morning. My grandpa is doing really badly, and not sure if he’s going to make it, so we’re going to drive out instead of take the train so they don’t have to worry abuot picking us up….and I probably won’t be going to the Milwaukee Irish Fest at all.
That’s all fine, but I really wish that he was doing better. He can be so much fun to be around, it’s hard to see him like this.
(183) I’m sorry to hear about your grandfather. I hope you’ll still be able to have a good visit.
179~ Have fun! How big is the duffel? I paked 2 weeks worth of stuff, plus books, notebooks, journals, raingear, extra shoes, etc. in a duffel to go on the Zodiac because my grandmother said to “pack light” in squishable bags……I ended up carrying everyone elses stuff because I was the only one that had less that FOUR bags. (And some of theirs were on rollers….I really should have gotten a rolling duffel, but that’s another story….) So, it is possible!
184~ Thanks. I hope so too.
Thanks everyone! I will have fun, and I’ll write in a journal so I can tell you all about it when I get back.
That sucks.
183- Aw.
185- It’s a pretty big duffel, and we get a small day pack (that really doesn’t have to be that small…) I’m not worried about it anymore, indeed, my chief concern now is finding enough short-sleeve t-shirts.
Tonight, we’re having cherry tart, ricotta gnocchi, and salad. I’m excited.
And now I have to go mince garlic and check on the tart.
183) awwwwwwwww. *hugs* I hope he gets better!
187) I shall surely miss you Alice! Have fun! Yum! I LOVE garlic!
176- Has it been here birthday yet? That whould be cute to give her.
Or not. I don’t know.
183- Hope he gets better soon!
187- Have fun!
166- Yeah, I know! I wasn’t expecting that.
170- Congratulations!
179- Have loads and loads and loads of fun! Don’t get eaten by any bog monsters, now. I hear they don’t just live around bogs anymore.
183- Oh, that’s so sad! I hope he gets better.
179 see yeh!
183- Oh dear, dear, dear. I sure hope he gets better.
Have a great time, Alice!
Best wishes to you and your family, Midnight Fiddler.
170-Whooo!
A couple of my friends got their drivers licence, now I’m definatly staying away from major highways.
189-Yeah, her birthday’s today. I’m going to give her a candle, and we’re going to go in my backyard and try to enchant it at night with these spells we got from Esoterica.
Hello everyone!
How’re yall? *eats poptart*
;asdiiidfsj
too eeeearrrrly
i’m visiting ohio university today…
prolly getting the new comp tonight
andy comes back tomorrow morning
i leave tomorrow afternoon
and i still have summer reading to do
i get back a week before school starts
grrr
Hey, GAPAS!
I sent my signature in, have you gotten it yet?
Agrrrfishi, it’s your turn to move on the MuseBlog chess thread!
Ergh. My mom has decided that instead of leaving today and staying the night in Portland, thus enabling us to rise at a sensible hour, we will stay the night here and simply get up brain-numbingly early so that we can drive to Portland in the morning.
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND.
200- Ask her why.
I wuv Weezer!
168-Not really. We don’t spar every day. I don’t really like sparring anymore because they keep adding new safety gear and it’s become quite cumbersome. When I started we had gloves, foot pads, a mouthpiece, and headgear.
They’ve added a chest shield and a plastic facemask. The mask is frustrating because it’s hard to see. I wish we could go back to what they had before I joined–mouthpiece and optional hand wraps.
Some of the little kids say the cutest things at karate. One of them said that testing was at 9:65 a.m. We were like noooo it’s 10:00.
201- She says she’d rather be at home than in Portland. I can certainly sympathize with that (although I here it’s warmer in Portland), but I’m rather forgo (sp?) a few hours at home in the evening than get up at such an hour.
I guess I can just sleep in the car. But still.
203- Pack everything today. That way, all you have to do tomorrow is haul yourself out of bed, zombie-walk into the car, and go to sleep.
202- Interesting. 9:65? You can’t blame them.
I once forgot the difference between a Coupee and a Beat Disengage with Riposte. Imagine the embarrassment.
My soccer team is picking captains on Monday. We’re also running, which is pretty blech, particularly since my ankle is still hurt from last weekend’s tournament.
97~ Cool! (I didn’t see your post earlier, sorry.) Anyway, that sounds really neat, what ships did you see? (If it won’t reveal your location, that is.) Oh, and I forgot to congratulate you on getting your driver’s license, yippie!!
Yesterday on the way home from the library we (my dad and I) stopped at the house of some friends. I knew one of the kids through one of my best friends who goes to school with her, so she’s a friend of a friend (with the same name too….ahhh!) and Dad knew the family in general from some other times, i don’t know the particulars….anyway, they have horses and they invited me to go over anytime! They’re really nice and live so close that I could easily bike over. Fun.
Well, the band is shaping up nicely this year. The freshmen are getting the formations, we have eighteen people in our section this year, and the drums are fantastic. Now, if only it was about twenty degrees cooler, everything would be perfect.
I am in a very random mood. *thinks random thought*
know what is über-cool?
vlog brothers
Yeah!
210 (ebeth): Yes! Vlog Brothers are definitely cool.
Hi! I’m back from science camp. It was so awesome! Okay, so I wasn’t too crazy about my roommate and the pizza was slightly undercooked, but other than that it was great.
*note- If you ever go to camp, make friends with the people with the giant bag of sour patch kids. Obviosly, they are awesome for bringing a giant bag of sour patch kids in the first place, and they need help eating it. (the candy, not the bag)
I am really tired right now. Today was the first day of XC camp, and I ran ten miles by the end of the day. Ten miles!! Why do I put myself through this torture!? Oh well. It was fun anyway. We got to play at this water park thing near the beach.
*reads compliments following post 55* *bows* Thank you, thankyouverymuch.
But, seriously, wouldn’t that be AWESOME???
209~ DARN THOSE SMALL NOODLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As you can see, I’m perfectly capable of being random as well. *big grin that would send any sane person scampering to the woods*
213- Or, if you desire to make friends, you could be the one who brings a bag of sour patch kids. Once I had a bunch of gummy sharks, which I foolishly opened in Spanish class, and suddenly everyone in the room became my best friend.
“In peacetime some sort of introduction is generally required to make make a person’s acquaintance; in war a small eatable will perform the same office.”
-Susanna Clarke, Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell
Heh, or a common friend and an interest in horses. Living nearly next door doesn’t hurt either. I spent a good bit of the day hanging out in the barn with Katie V. (There are simply too many Katies around, several of my friends and acquaintances have that name, as well as one of my cousins.)
See you all later……..I have a headache that’s probably from staring at the computer screen for too long. Or something…..
A final random thought for the day: SHRIMFRARA!!!!!!!!!*
*shrimp fried rice!
And beware of small noodles.
I’ll leave you to ponder over the meaning of those random outbursts.
213-anybody with sour patch kids is my friend
even my worst enemy
I like key lime pie.
I’m back home in Iowa, having been in Illinois for the past two days.
Sour Patch? Yum!
Well, I finished what I thought was the “last” Maximum Ride book. But it isn’t the last. *sigh* I love those books. I think I’m a big sucker.
I’m back!
Wow, already 221 post O_o.
220- Did you like it?
I just got back from Cincinnati and Tennessee. It was better than I thought.
Ding ding a ding aling ling.
I don’t feel like myself today…
I just got braces. They don’t look as bad as I thought they would, but they’re still pretty bad.
Anyway, Clarissa liked her birthday present.
We tried to watch Sweeny Todd, but I have this thing with blood and we ended up turning it off near the end, I was squealing. I am SUCH a wimp.
I’ve survived as a veg so far, I thought I wouldn’t last a week.
GAPAs, did you get my signature??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
223 – Don’t worry. Braces get better after a few days. They hurt a little when they get tightened, too, but mostly you don’t even notice them.
(224) Yes, ZVX, we’ve received signatures from you, kiwimuncher, and Agrrrfishi.
225-I’m getting molded for braces on the 16th
does the plaskit taste bad?
(and just so you know, plaskit is NOT a misspelling. it is a word in the same family as complooter and SKOOLand thingama-whosit-with-the-freakilidy-whatchmagig-on-top)
227: It doesn’t taste great. Just try not to move your mouth so you won’t get any on your tongue.
I’M GETTING A RETAINER SOON w00t!
227-The glue tastes all sour and weird, but otherwise nothing tastes like anything.
226~ Did Rebecca get mine to you?
Braces: Never had ’em, never needed ’em. I used to think that they look SUPER cool though, and was so upset that I had naturally straight teeth……
231 – You have straight teeth??? *jealousy*
232~ Yup. Not perfectly straight, but close enough that I don’t need braces. Actually, one of my lower front teeth came in sideways when I was little, but straightened itself out by the time it was finished….
227- Well, I had my mouth molded for something else (I forgot what) and if it’s the same as the one for braces, it’s horrible. Just try not to breathe in.
Can I send in another signature then the last one to Rebecca?
I just downloaded Paint.NET.
You will be seeing some seriously scary bunnies in the near future.
256- Oh joy.
Today was my new high school’s freshman orientation. You know what that means? School starts on Monday. Yes, it is insanely early. Our homecoming is before some of you guys even start school. On the bright side, it’s gonna be awesome.
I have no wisdom teeth, there aren’t any there to remove, I wasn’t born with them. I’m proud of this.
(238) I have all of my wisdom teeth (in my jaws, I mean). They let me keep them, because of my big mouth. I’m proud of this.
(235) Beavo — certainly, anyone may send in new signatures.
School also starts on Monday for us.
Rebecca’s art which I looked at on Photobucket inspired me to draw a new sig. I drew it by hand, scanned it in, and colored it on the computer. I’ll send it in.
(241) Why, thank you, Piggy, I’m honored by the compliment.
226- Thank Koko. Is my signature OK?
(243) The design looks great, but I’m afraid the lettering will not show up very well. The ZVX could use some thickening. I’m not sure “resistance is Museless” will be readable at all. In general, signatures work best without extra text. I’ll put up some guidelines tomorrow.
237, 240- That’s insane. School always starts in September for me, usually right after Memorial Day. Then again, you guys probably end school early too, no?
Turn on the Infinite Improbability Drive!!! You’ll never imagine what I found when googling my MB name under images……it appears that in Port Townsend there is a ketch named……………Midnight Fiddler!
Who knew? I promise that I did not know when I chose this name, and I seriously doubt that anyone could find off-blog references to me by googling my MB name, but I thought that this was too funny.
Another strange co-incidence, 5 out of 20 things listed were in some way pertaining to boats….most of the others were from Musefanpage, and a few I have no idea whatsoever how they are associated with my name. :unsure:
Anyway, I just thought that would be amusing………….goodnight.
P.S. Does Rebecca still have my signature?? And if so, is it the one with half a violin?
(246) I remember that I put it away for safe-keeping — now I just have to remember where exactly that is….
Hey GAPAS, is my sig okay?
I got two teeth pulled out, and now I have to get BRACES. ACK.
Fortunately, I only need them for a year and a half. Thank museness.
48 – ME TOO!!!!! o.0 I needed 2 teeth pulled out for braces, and I only needed it for a year and a half!!!!!
All in all, I’ve had 6 teeth pulled.
My first experiment with Paint.NET is done and in! Hopefully you’ll all be seeing it soon.
244- OK, I’ll try some different stuff with it. There’s still time, isn’t there?
(251) Plenty of time. We haven’t set up a deadline yet.
Good morning everyone!
Tis a loverly day!
Oooooooooo. I hope my signature turned out OK. I don’t need to make it more readable do I GAPAs?
(253) Yours is readable, but the file size is too small. I think I can fix it though.
254) OK! Thankyou!
249- Wow! That’s an interesting/strange coincidence! But I’ve only had three teeth pulled, and one of them doesn’t count becaus eit was coming out anyway. But still…!
Just as an update, I’m going on vacation from Saturday-Tuesday. I might be on later today, but I have a TON of packing to do. I’m a procrastinator. Put it all off till the last minute. But the good part is, I’m going to my favorite place in the entire world. I’m not allowed to bring my laptop, so I guess I’ll just have to see you all later. Don’t get too far ahead without me!
Also, I phoned my cousin(you know her as QueenOfAces), to wish her happy birthday. She wanted me to tell all of you that she’s terribly sorry she hasn’t been on, but her computer got some sort of virus and completely shut down. They haven’t been able to figure out what’s wrong with it yet. But, who knows, maybe her parents are surprising her with a new one today! they know how much she loves her computer.She misses it,and is unhappy that she has to be computerless on her birthday, but I reassured her that things are going to work out fine.
See you all later! By the way, GAPAS, how does my signature look? Did the fish come in right?
(256) It’s fine, Agrrrfishi. Have a great vacation!
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. I’ve never had any teeth pulled and I don’t plan to ever have any pulled. I’ve always had nice teeth. I don’t even have to get braces!
/Cocoa puffs/
To keep from watching the Olympics, I’ll go on MuseBlog.
/Cocoa puffs/
252- I’ll see if I can get Paint.NET.
I’ve just sent in my signature! I’ts basically my Nationstates flag, but 500 times larger. Is it all right, GAPAs?
Say, GAPAs, have you received the “Transcript” picture yet?
I’ve had braces before and tons of teeth pulled. I had so many teeth when I was little that I had 6 pulled in one day and it didn’t interfere with my eating.
I only have 24 teeth because my mouth is too small to have all of them. Aren’t people supposed to end up with 32?
I need to make my signature sometime.
(262) POSOC — Yes, we have it.
Hi there.
Bye there.
I’ll be going now.
See you all later!
265~ Bye, have fun!!
Gurgle. My sister is driving me crazy. She is obsessed with this one band and she is intent on torturing me with watching videos of them/looking at pictures of them/blogging with them/listening to their music/drawing pictures of them/entering contests for them/etc. It’s so ANNOYING! *imagines self strangling sister*
267~ What’s the band? *probably doesn’t know of it* Anyway, try not to strangle the sister, but if imagining helps so be it.
*skips away, happy to be an only child*
The College Board, which owns the SAT, PSAT and other tests, plans to introduce an eighth-grade college assessment exam in 2010, a top College Board official said this week.
thank goodness I ‘m past all that… V. sorry to any MBers who will have the “option” of taking it since it’s “not mandatory”. You know what else isn’t? The PSAT. what a bunch of ninnies. as if more ~diagnostic~ tests will do kids any favors. lolllll
*Will work on sig. later.*
No luck with Paint.NET. Maybe Photoshop…
269- (Wasn’t up when I posted 270)
Good think I’ll be in high school by then.
I am good at the SAT though.
233 – My teeth on the left side are pretty twisted. They’re one of the main reasons I need braces, besides just general straightening.
236 – YAY!!!!
237 – Wow, that is early. My school starts on August 28th, which is unusually early.
Speaking of school starting early, my mom, brother, and I are going to go school supply shopping soon. Not only are we going to get supplies for ourselves, but we’re also going to get a lot to donate to the community center.
238 – Lucky.
245 – My school normally starts somewhere around September 7th or 8th. This year is really weird.
246 – Hey, I’ve been to Port Townsend. -RANDOM-
If I Google Cat’s Meow I get 1,270,000 results, and if I google “Cat’s Meow”, I get 1,040,000.
248, 249 – I’ve never had any teeth pulled, but I have to have my braces for about 3 years. Ick. It’s actually not that bad, because almost everybody else on my soccer team is just getting them too. I think people with braces actually outnumber people without braces on my team.
259 – Why don’t you want to watch the Olympics? I already watched the USA vs. Japan soccer game, yesterday.
269 – Hurrah! I’m an 08-09 8th grader.
Although, my high school class (2013) is going to get hit with everything for our district. We’re going to have more required classes, particularly in math, and we’re going to have harder graduation requirements. Ugh. Not that I’m very worried about that, but still…
Mwahaha- My class is a lucky class. Affective this coming school year, 8th graders have to take Washington State History (how this will work at my school, I don’t know, because our schedule is different from the rest of the district) and high school peoples don’t! That’s a whole year that I can focus more on my art forms, and math and science, my most favorite academics. And now, we’re missing this college assessment! This makes RAWR very happy.
273- Politics. I’d perfer not to discuss it.
In other news, I’ve been waiting for today forever, because 8 is my favorite number!
268) Some band called Tokio Hotel. *makes face* My family makes fun of it and calls it Hokio Totel. It’s some strange band with a very odd looking lead singer. I wouldn’t give up my sister for anything though. I mean, if I didn’t have a sister who would I annoy? Who would I talk too? Who would I drive crazy until they would entertain me? Who would help me with my science homework? Who else would do all the things I do to her back (except for homework, she’s ahead of me, so anything she doesn’t know, lord help me)? She’s moving to collage the 15th. *dies*
Have the GAPAs gotten my signature yet? If so, is it okay? If not, what do I need to fix?
Anyone else not watching the Olympics?
278- may watch the events, will not watch the opening.
(278) Yes, we got your signature and Raynpho’s. Both seem to be fine at first glance. I’ll take a closer look when I’m home.
I’m watching the Olympic opening ceremony. It’s very interesting.
It’s really neat to see this happening after seeing the Bird’s Nest under construction last summer. I didn’t get to go in but we went by it before it was finished.
OMG that box thing was amazing! I was so surprised when the people came out at the end. I definitely thought that was computerized.
278- I was watching it, but I gave up.
281- I liked the whole painting-with-hands-on-huge-screen-while-dancing thing. Quite spiffy.
Goooooooooooooooood morning!
*is very happy because I just found out I’m going to Carowinds on Monday*
279- Same here.
283- What’s Carowinds?
277 – Oh, some of my friends love that band! I’ve only heard one song by them, though.
I watched the Olympic opening ceremony last night, and it was beautiful. I’ve read the news for the past few months, and I know all of the politics surrounding it, but, for me, it didn’t matter. It was just beautiful to see it all.
232- I’m sure you have nothing compared to what I have. I’ll have to get braces soon.
277- Sisters? Yes, it would be hard to not have anyone to send up the wall when you’re bored.
278-Yep. The opening ceremony was increadible. I think my favorite part was when the globe rose out of the floor with all the acrobats doing cartwheels on it.
284) You don’t know what it is? Why, it’s only a totally awesome theme park! Wonderful roller coasters! You can’t tell me you haven’t heard of the Borg!
I do believe it may be the first roller coaster in which the riders lie down. Unfortunately, the lines are ExTREMELY long.
288- Are you going to ride it? *shivers* I wouldn’t… Any roller coaster with a long line is guarantied to be one that I won’t like.
It’s my birthday! I’m so happy! I got up at eight and did EVERYONE’S chores and all the stuff that my mom has ever asked me to do that isn’t anyone’s chores, so that no one would be grumpy and therefore ruin my birthday. It sort of worked… For some reason my mom still seems stressed. Maybe it’s because she has nothing to do… I should go mess up my room- that might help.
Hi!
*Sits limp in chair* I’ve been at my grandmother’s since early yesterday. I did all kinds of work around the house and yard. Including cutting a tree down. It seemed to be dying, but it was maybe 25 feet tall or so, and still very sturdy, or so it seemed cutting it with a little hand saw. I am very sore from cutting that down piece by piece, cutting and pulling down the two main trunks, and then cutting it up some. Plus all sorts of other projects and such.
Will work on signature later, I can’t think about that now.
Red-tailed HAWK
287 – I thought the part at the start with the drummers, lights, and countdown was amazing, but kind of creepy too, especially when they brought out the red sticks.
287, 291-I particularly liked when the characters started waving. And when the guy ran around the stadium. And when the people were painting and dancing at the same time.
I like it all? Yeah, whatever. That’s true.
Olympics: I loved it when there were those boxes making waves and stuff, and it seemed like they were robotic, and them all the people came out and waved.
Oooh I liked the people in the green flashing suits too. Those were neat!
292 – Yeah, the painting was really cool. The Parade of Nations was awesome.
293 – I know! I completely thought they were robotic! The green flashing people were also really cool. All the patterns they could make were amazing.
*cameo appearence*
Random: Why is the latest Muse Acadamy RPG filed under random craziness? We’re not that random… OK, maybe we are. We spent less than a day back at school before going on another adventure. Wow.
Never mind on the “we’re not random” thing, but I think the latest RPG could at least be catagorized under muse acadamy with the other ones.
AAAAHHHHH!!!!! Russia and Georgia are at war!!!!!!! *is very sad*
hmmm. Off to boarding school in *checks* two hours. Not done packing. That’s… not good.
Anyway, I have noooo idea when i’ll be back on, so, bye for now!!
And, by the way, SUPPORT GEORGIA!
0- Awesome pic, Lady Bunniful. The intricate ice patterns are mesmerizing.
29- AUGH!
295- Hello, briefly appearing Beavo.
296- Why? Because of the pie fight (that I started
), the ghost ship, the basement with the T. Rex and the Sizan and all, the trans-dimensional portal, the magic…but I’ve been gone for a week, so it might be different now.
The Olympics opening ceremony was amazing. Maybe even a little over the top, but awesome, nonetheless.
GAPAs, you were right, as always. The Blog’s as lively as it ever was.
289) I’ve already rode it once before, but I might ride it again. It all depends on how early I get to the park and how long the line is.
Happy Birthday!
*pies*
(296) GAPAs sometime forget to assign categories when they make new threads, then “Random Craziness” appears by default. I’ve fixed it now to match the others.
300- Thanks.
298 – I think the point was that it was over the top.
Dunno if I’ve ever posted on this blog with this email before. Not an impostor, I swear.
I haven’t been here in a while. It’s rather large, isn’t it?
re: Olympics: the mothaland is so, so awesome sometimes. And I want a lurid green glowy suit.
Hello. I’m back. And I’m just going to lurk for a while.
Hello La Mort!
Lurking is fun.
Hi La Mort! *blackberry pies*
I refuse to post on the Back to School thread.
Aliens lurk. That isn’t fun.
Lurking is fun. Aliens can be fun, except when they pull out your spleen through your navel and suchlike. But a lurker is like a stalker minus their notebook, and stalkers pwn.
Wooooaaaaah awesome pic.
So, I swear I didn’t abandon MB, I said I wouldn’t, didn’t I? Yes.
I was, in fact, grounded from the comp for 2 weeks, then at a tennis camp for one, and now I’m back, though still grounded.
Also, I hate my parents. They took my door away. They took my door. So I kicked a hole in the wall. There was also a lot of yelling before, throughout, and after these events.
So I haven’t been able to come on for a while.
I’ll post tales of my absence later, maybe, but I don’t have much time left for all the crap I had to do to get on the comp for 1 hour (10 pages of AP US History notes, conjugate a page of spanish verbs, read some of Walden, 75 hocky shots, give Bandit a bath poor thing, ect).
Also, school starts next monday. Ahhhhhhghgjsahfiaghk;w ehdfbc ;akhjfb *dies* We only got out June 13! I can’t go back now!
*dies*
309~ They took away your door???? Ouch. I’m not even sure I want to know what you were fighting about……
Hmm, in Freaky Friday the girl had her door taken away..I wonder if that’s where they got the idea? Never mind, I assume you don’t want to talk about it….
Anyway, good to see you back at least!
309- They took your door away? Jeez, What’d you do to deserve that?
I loved the beginning of the Olypmic Opening Ceremony. (You know, the drummers) That was insane. As a drummer, it was even more awesome.
308) And clipboard. Don’t forget the official stalker clipboard.
309) Wow.
They took your door? Must have been bad. Of course, I bet kicking a hole in your wall only made it worse.
I’m BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-AAAAAAAAACK!
312- Yup… I have some very interesting facts on my clipboard.
314)
*gulp*
Well, anyway, I ,most likely will not be here tomorrow because I am leaving for a fine day of Carowinds!
So long!
309 – Your DOOR? That’s a little odd.
303- hey Penty!
309 -augh! no door? sympathy!
GAPAs, I need to ask you a question! Please Resond below me!
What is this about Neanderthals having spines bent artificially? Can you tell me a way to combate that? It’s for a debate I’m having over on the cricket Forums. Thanks and Pies.
Hi people! Just popping in. Bye!
(318) TMFA,
Neandertal spines weren’t unusual, and Neandertals stood as upright as we do. Paleontologists have many other reasons for thinking that Neandertals were a different species (or possibly subspecies) of human from modern Homo sapiens sapiens.
I don’t think facts will help you very much in your Cricket debate, though. In my experience, if people want to believe that scientists don’t know anything about the age of the universe, the planets, Earth, continents, rocks, and the plants and animals that used to live here — and that scientists are willing to forge fossils and falsify data to cover up how little they know — then there’s not much you can say to them.
For that world view to make sense, however, you’d have to believe that geologists, planetary scientists, paleontologists and others are hopeless bunglers and/or unscrupulous frauds and that huge chunks of science are a big conspiracy. If someone DOES believe that, then I don’t know any kind of argument that would change that person’s mind. You can’t cite scientific evidence, because the person has already declared that it’s worthless.
In disagreeing with someone like that, you don’t have to claim that scientists are always right (they aren’t); just that they are generally honest and that their basic way of going about things isn’t hopelessly off base. The big questions are whether it’s possible to understand the world by studying it, and whether generations of people who have spent their careers doing that have been acting in good faith. If the answers are “no” and “no,” then there’s not much more to be said — except to wonder what sort of knowledge is better, and why.
(319) Hi, Cinnamoon! Good to “see” you.
320- too true. we have 39 posts and There are about three creationists and the Evolution has me, and someone else poped in once.
I popped up here to ask you:
How the heck do you use GIMP?
I just found out about some cool phobias that Musers could induce!
Agateophobia- Fear of insanity.
Allodoxaphobia- Fear of opinions.
Aeroacrophobia- Fear of open high places.
Acousticophobia- Fear of noise.
Altophobia- Fear of heights.
Anglophobia- Fear of anything or anyone English.
Anthropophobia- Fear of people or society.
Basiphobia- Inability to stand. Fear of walking or falling.
Centophobia- Fear of new things or ideas.
Chromatophobia- Fear of colors.
Ergophobia- Fear of work.
Hypnophobia- Fear of sleep or of being hypnotized.
Melanophobia- Fear of the color black.
Leporiphobia – Fear of rabbits
That’s all I could find right now. I’ll post some more later! But remember, we all have Leporiphobia!
322- You downloaded GIMP then? :D.
It’s a bit confusing at first, especially if you’re used to Photoshop or the like… you can google for some tutorials though.
It really depends on what you’re doing with it, of course
https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1401#comment-232477
GO THERE, AND JOIN.
Oh, woah. I haven’t been on here for a while.
324 – I’m going to make my signature.
321 – I was going to post, but I couldn’t think of anything useful to add, so I posted on the global warming thread instead.
323- So I can tell my teachers I have ergophobia? Sweet! No homework because of my, *coughcough* “psychological disorder.”
Hi! how’s your summer going. I haven’t been on in forever because I’m really freaking buisy with life, ya know. Kinda miss the blog. I don’t recognize the names on the happy birthdays so far. (isn’t that sad? I’m getting old and distanced) It’s waaaaaay rainy up here, don’t know about you guys south of the boarder. I am currently watching the magic school bus. My second favorite tv show. My favorite is Arthur. which is totaly the best ever. Sorry I’m not responding to anyone’s coments, I don’t really have time. Did anyone hear about the huge explosions in toronto. A propane thingy exploded. Only one person missing and one fatality. Which is amazing as it was in a residential area I believe. That would be a terrifying experience. It would be like being bombed (high up on my greatest fears list). I used to have dreams where toronto was transformed into this scary war place and places are being bombed. uh yeah. sorry for such a long post.
320- Well, I’m Hinging the debate around An aritcle about human-dino footprints, Cartoon history of the univere, and the bible saying the sun went arond the earth.
hmmm…I just downloaded GIMP.
322- Well, it isn’t too confusing, you just go to “File” and say “New” and it gives you a blank document. Start there.
G’night all! I’m off to go swoon over the ships that Horatio Hornblower and his cronies sail on……….yay!
)
Mom is here at the moment, she’s laughing at me and says that I’m “A nut.”
~~~~~~
Somewhat unrelated….
How do watermelons keep getting bigger when there is no rain and the fields are dry?
A friend asked Mom that, and remembering Meow’s question in Muse we thought to ask it here. Robert? Rosanne? Our trusty “Q&A” columnists? (Yes, you’re still our Q&A people, Andy and Ruth are great, but they still will never hold the same place in our hearts.
Leonid meteors at 1:30 AM! Anybody else going to watch?
KaiYves (333): I’m going to! I’m going to sleep shortly and I’ve set my alarm so I get up after the moon has set (1:57 am). I think it might be cloudy tonight, but I hope it clears up soon!
332- Meow had a question published in Muse? Which issue?.
333- Really? What time zone?
My sister and I experimented with #6 plastic the other day… a.k.a “shrinky-dinks.” It was great fun, and we ended up with some pieces of colored plastic pendant-bead objects. Let’s give a pie for being green and reusing old plastic containers
328-Sure!
Zemmiphobia – Fear of the great mole rat.
Zoophobia – Fear of animals.
209-Ooh that sucks. *hugs*
333-Maybe. If I can’t sleep tonight I will, but I’m supposed to get up early tomorrow. It’s not likely that I’ll be able to sleep early though.
I’m really frustrated right now because in karate today we had to do a bunch of crunches, and normally I can just sit there doing crunches all day but today I couldn’t do any. My head just felt really weird and I couldn’t move much. Then my instructor made me stop before I finished.
I cleaned off my desk yesterday so I can use it now. I plan to do my homework at it this year, but it’s probably going to be messy before school starts.
I just discovered an online recipe website!
[Snip! It looks innocuous, but it’s a bad precedent. –Admin.]
its kind of empty, but seems promising.
Eastern Standard.
323- You forgot the most important one ” Panophobia or Pantophobia- Fear of everything.”
.
338-huh? What’s those words mean?
Haha. Something funny happened. My dad bet my sister and my mum that “bonks potatoes” (a family inside joke) wouldn’t get any hits on google, but he got one from a post I made on Museblog a while back. So now my family has discovered my secret online Museblog identity. Ha.
Emophobia-Fear of people who have great lives but seem to complain a lot anyway.
That was invented by me, BTW.
Oh, and hi.
KaiYves (333): I woke up at 2:00 last night, but the sky was too cloudy to see anything. I set it again for 3:00, but it wasn’t any clearer. The Leonid meteors are in November — last night was the Perseids.
340-What about Phobophobia? It’s a phobia of phobias…
340 – According to my list of phobias, pan-oh-phobia is a fear of pans. Or Pans, I suppose.
Hello everyone! I’m back! Twas FUN!
Antidaeophobia – Fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you
333-No, but I watched the Perseids at 4:00 AM.
I tried at 9:00, and stayed out until eleven. I saw one bright meteor. The sky was still bright, though, and the big trees blocked Perseus because it was still low in the sky.
Then I got up at 3:45 AM and went out. I stayed out until 5:00 AM. They were supposed to be best from 4:00 to 5:00. The sky started getting bright at about five, so I came in.
And I saw 35 meteors!!! YAY!
That may be a record for me. The sky was perfectly clear, which is unusual; usually the sky is cloudy when something unusual is happening in the sky
It was very cool–almost cold. It could have been November–and it wouldn’t feel very odd. For August it was great! And now it’s going to be cool for a while still, they say!
It was very nice out. It was a bit chilly, but there was a nice breeze, and the insects were still chirping. It was cool to see the stars so clearly, and to notice their movements. Particularly when I went back out the second time, when they had moved quite a bit. I’m starting to learn the constellations, too! I’m getting there!
Oh, by the way. In the same patch of sky I was watching, I saw ten points of light move across the sky in those few hours I watched. Is it possible they were all satellites? And why did one of them appear to stop far up in the sky?
I’m sure people wondered who those strange people were in the road. (My dad came out too). Not another person was to be seen anywhere!
Red-tailed HAWK

I have homeworkphobia.
Antidaeophobia – Fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you.
Far Side reader?
Hotpinkbunnyophobia/ Hotpinklagomorphaphobia-A fear of HPBs.
Hpbphobia!
GAPAs, I’ll be sending in some pictures, as I mentioned on the BA thread, for the BA thread.
335 – I dunno. One of them. Fairly recent, probably, because Andy and Ruth were already doing the Q&A column. It was a question about how seedless watermelon grow if they don’t have any seeds, and the answer was really cool.
Also 335 – That sounds fun!
342 – Haha! Nice job.
My current IM status message is “Do you suffer from didaskaleinophobia?”
didaskaleinophobia = fear of school
Are there any threads that you guys feel I should read? Cause otherwise, I’ll just lurk on this one.
Yes, Meow, I do suffer from didask…that.
Mom said Matthew Lush is ugly.
What should I kill her with?
352- Oh, that one was yours! Nice question.
No.
“Decidedly uncool weather?” I wish–we’ve had an unusually chilly and rainy summer here in Alaska. I suppose I ought to console myself with the fact that I will be making up for the lack of warmth when I start college, since I’m going to school in the southern portion of the lower 48–where it is definitely HOT this time of year….
So anyway, my bit of randomness: I just took all three WOMBATS on JKR’s website, and I thought this was really funny: The Grade 3 WOMBAT is, according to Jo, supposed to be the hardest of the three. But, I only got an A on the first (for those of you not in the know, that’s “Acceptable”–the lowest passing score), and E on the second (Exceeds Expectations–a grade above acceptable), and an O, I repeat, an O on the third, and supposed hardest WOMBAT (O is Outstanding, a grade above E, and also the highest grade achievable).
Anyways, I know I haven’t posted in awhile, and I’m sure many of you don’t know me (many of you are probably after my time of posting a lot), but I probably won’t be posting much this coming year. As unbelievable as it seems to me, I will be starting college this August–a day that always seems so far away when you’re a kid, and yet comes up on you so fast. So, I leave in less than a week–Monday the 18th, and I have to imagine that I will be too busy to write much, what with trying to maintain my GPA–I’ve been excepted to a PreVet program that guarantees me a place in vet school, provided I keep a GPA of 3.50 or greater, and don’t get more than one C in a required preprofessional course. Anyways, I’m a bit nervous about that, don’t quite see how I’m going to manage–actually, I keep flipping back and forth, half the time I feel that there’s no way I can possibly do it, while the other half I think, hey, you never got a C in highschool, only got one or two Bs, so no problem, at which point the other part of my brain kicks in again, saying yeah, but you were homeschooled, it’s not the same, you’ve never had any real deadlines, you could procrastinate all you wanted in getting it all done, at which point I start obsessing about what’s the lowest grade I can get in all of these subjects this semester and still pull a 3.5 GPA….Yeah, currently I’m worried about the Calc course I have to take for my Bio Sciences major. Since it’s 5 credits, an d I’m only taking 16 credits, I can only get a B, and no lower, because a C would drop me down below a 3.5 (since Calc is not required for the PreVet Program, it doesn’t matter as far as the C thing goes, just as far as GPA). Anyway, I just don’t see how I can get a good grade in Calc, given that I don’t feel I know trig well enough to differentiate and integrate trigonometric equations (one of the many calculus concepts that I had so mjuch trouble with in HS)–I could integrate/differentiate algebraic equations without too much difficultly, but trig equations? No bloody way.
Anyway, sorry about that ridiculously long venting session–I think I just had to get it all out…I feel better now =)
So, as I was saying, I will probably be too busy to write much, but I will be stopping by the September Muse mag thread….
And so, on that note, I leave you (for now)
Hello Luna! there’s a harry potter triva thread right now!
The weather of the past few days (in my neck of the woods) has been cool, breezy and nice. I’m wearing a sweatshirt right now, actually. And my feet are cold.
My right ankle hurts. It’s been doing this since yesterday morning, for no particular reason that I can imagine……poop.
342) That’s hilarious! There are several things that turn up results only on MB…hehe
Hello, Luna! Good to see you! I’m sure you’ll do a great job in college.
Red-tailed HAWK- you saw 35 meteors? That’s flamablamablous! We had a complete cloud-covered sky here in Pittsburgh. It’s only partly cloudy today, so I might try again tonight, even though it’s not peak viewing time.
355 – It was an inside joke that my friend and I had, and one day I randomly posted it on MuseBlog and Andy and Ruth picked it. My friend (who has read a few of my Muses, but not many) was jealous that I got in with “our question”.
357 – What are the WOMBATS?
I saw a shooting star last night at, oh, around midnight or 1 AM.
362~ I think it was in the Pencils one.
362: The WOMBAT is a quiz on JK Rowling’s website. Since it’s past the times the WOMBATs were originally posted, you can’t just get there by going to the WOMBAT link on the homepage–but with a little bit of exploration, you can find them if you want!
363 – Yeah, that’s possible.
Is it just me, or did the ‘Recent Comments’ box temporarily disappear?
344- I was hurrying to finnish on MB so I could go to sleep early and wake up early for the PERSEIDS, so I accidentally wrote the name of the wrong meteor shower. But yes, I know that the LEONIDS are in November.
348- Here in NY we had clouds with a few patches of clear sky, through which I saw about ten meteors. Four or five were very bright.
If the points of light moved in an arc, made no noise, and did not blink, they probably were satellites.
Hey everyone! I’m baaaaaack!
That was a good vacation, except it rained for the first two days. But the last day was beautiful. My cousins dug a huge hole and buried me vertically up to my head in sand. The only problem was,I couldn’t get out, so they had to dig all the way down again to get me out. Whopee, I spent a total of 45 minutes in that hole because everyone was to tired to dig me out right away.
352- hippopotomonstrosophobia is the fear of long words. for serious. no joke.
Sorry to double post, but…
I’ve been thinking for a bit and I came up with an idea. Tell me what you guys think. (I know this probably belonged on the random morphing Chameleon thread, but since they stopped talking about computers I need somewhere else to talk.)
What if I made a ‘Muses’ music video, starring none other than our beloved Muses in a band? I’ve already come up with an idea for their advertising poster, and some songs I could have them play. I have a tie between the four songs I like best and that I think are most do-able. They are ‘Flathead’ by The Fratellis, ‘Viva La Vida’, by Coldplay, ‘Don’t Stop Beleivin'”, by Journey, and ‘Starlight’, by (what a coincidence!) Muse.
Here’s my idea for the poster:
The Fishing For Gold Record Corporation proudly presents:
THE LIVE FROM MUSEICA TOUR!
Featuring our platinum record band, ‘Kokopelli and Company’!
With…
KOKOPELLI on Lead Vocals!
URANIA on Lead Guitar!
PWT on Bass Guitar!
AEIOU on Keytar!
CHAD on drums!
FEATHER on keyboard and piano!
CRRAW on Backup Vocals!
MIMI on Backup Guitar!
and BO on Xylophone and Bells!
This front page band of multi-talented wonder beings are sure to bring you the delight and the music satisfaction you need, with songs you know and love! Make sure you buy your tickets to their next showing, and be sure to sdownload the Live From Museica tour music videos! (Available soon on our website!)
For the music video(s), I might need a little help. If you’d like, I can draw up some of my thoughts. Would anyone be interested in helping me who’s got some computer and animation experience? If so, that would be great. I have a really good idea for these videos, I just need a little help getting started with animation and stuff like that. I’m not exactly a natural.
370- I’ll see what I can do!
370-Viva la Vida (the album and the song) rocks!
i dont have animation exp, but i have lots of computer exp!
(sry aboot da dubbl post)
370- What about Koko’s flute?
I can help/experiment with Flash MX. I’m a beginner, but I know the basics. I can also do Animation shop, but that’s no good for a music video.
Speaking of which, I made a video of Koko throwing a pie on Flash, just to try it out. Should I send it to the GAPAs? It’s related to MuseBlog, obviously, but I always feel like I’m spamming them when I send an email like that, not really related to any current discussions. Meh.
375- I know. I’ve been thinking a lot though, and I think that the flute should be set aside, at least for the time being. I can’t find any good songs with flutes, And besides, it is ‘Kokopelli and Company’, so I naturally figure that he should be the lead singer. All of the songs I’m thinking of have a male lead vocal. Whatever help you can give, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
Hi Luna! I know how it is, I’m leaving this Friday for college. Good luck!
Have set up iPod touch. Am listening to it now. I wonder if I’ll use it or my cd player more often. hmm.
369) Wow. That’s ironic.
Good morning everyone!
Good luck at collage Luna! Wow! My sister is going to collage soon too! We’re moving her in this weekend…… So you want to be a vet? Awesome!
