FIRST POST?!?!?!?!?!?!
Maybe…
Larry G. is my hero. Or one of them anyway.
♥ ♥ ♥
Who?
Oh yah, him. He’s okay, I guess. Now who are we talking about?
Oh right. LG, that guy. Yah, him.
*gasp* DIE FIEND!!!!!!
lol jk
*double gasp* Maybe he’ll be so hurt by that he’ll HAVE to post!
Who? Oh yeah! Him. That guy. LG.
Larry Gonick is very cool. V. cool. I think his next book should be Kokopelli and Co. going into a middle school on some pretext disguised as students. That would be fun. However, Mr. Gonick doesn’t really have to pay attention to what I think would make a great book.
Yes he does! For if he doeth not, I shall smiteth him with my pies of peril!
attack of the smrt pies was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A middle school would give Larry a chance to introduce more than one kid-character. More kids would be my one recommendation for the next Muse book. (Well, that and not letting anybody get knocked unconscious, something that happened a lot in AOTSP. Ouch!)
How about Larry’s Cartoon History of the Universe? Has anybody read that?
Wouldn’t koko be kind of…i dunno…diluted? maybe? whatever the word is…in a middle skool? I mean, most of the middle-skool kids i know (personally, not you guys. Besides, you’re musers) are mini-kokopellies in themselves. I was a holy terror in middle skool (aaah…teer. the memories. ) Not that a high skool would be much better.
i think that’s a cool idea though. i dunno, maybe all skools aren’t that crazy. But yeah, a toned-down middle skool setting would be awesome.
Or maybe…Sweet Valley High?
Wow. I could see that…Koko running around, pie in hand…airheaded preppies shrieking in terror…the muses take over…aaah *starts daydreaming*
Yeah, what about highschool? I was so young and silly in junior high. Though then he would get to portray young-ness and silly-ness. I couldn’t have been that silly though subscribing to Muse and all. (I’ve subscribed since the last half of third grade)
I have read the Cartoon History of The Universe I and II, but not III.
Calling your past self young and silly is a very young and silly thing to do.
I ♥ Cartoon History of the Universe. Read ’em all. I love how much attention he pays to Chinese and Indian history, unlike my SS curriculum. In our one year of “world history,” this was what we studied: Stone Age, Mesopotamia, Egypt, GREEEECE, WONDERFUL GREECE, teeny bit of Rome. I like Greece, but they could have covered something outside of the Mediterranean area instead of spending three months on Greece. ASIA!!! WHOO!!
I’ve read Cartoon History of the Universe vol. 1, 2, and 3, Cartoon history of the US, cartoon guide to physics, AOTSP, and Koko+Co (duh). My history teacher had a copy of CHotUS in his room last year… And I think high school would be much better than middle school. Because, really, life in middle school is much like life in a military boot-camp.
i have the chot US and smart pies but nothing else…
I haven’t read a single one of his books. But yeah, he should do one showing what the muses were like in high school. I don’t know that they should be pretendeing to be students. I think it would be better if they actualIy were students. But would it be a school for muses or would it have humans too? I would hate to be with Koko in study hall. My brother had a teacher who ate chile (is that how you spell it?) dogs in study hall. And the students weren’t allowed to eat. He was the gym teacher too. Why the gym teacher would be in charge of study hall, I’ll never know.
a book about the muses taking over a high school would be fantabulously entertaining.
oh, + i suddenly got this idea for a new muse this morning. i’ll probably realize how cheesy it is later but right now i think it would be awesome
ok, her name is kokokelli. she looks very similar to kokopelli except she has a bow on one of her spiky hairs + she has a little harp instead of a horn. she could be kokopellis partner in crime or something…
well it was an idea anyway
wasn’t there somebody who suggested something like that before? Not exactly like that though…she had a crush on koko and i don’t think she had a harp. I forgot what the name was…oh vell…
must be a good idea though if everybody wants it…
Unless it’s a [insert hot pink bunnies here] issue…
lol
Speaking of Muses, how’s the Muse-ical going, Julietaini?
Actually, I remember that. (The dinosaur speaks… I’ve been reading Muse since I was seven.) Her name was Tanya, and I think she played the violin or something. Kokokelli is cooler, though.
I just read Cartoon Guide to Chemistry and now I GET covalent bonds! Amazing! Hurrah for Larry Gonick! I also like how much LG pays attention to Communism in CGTUS. Apparently my birthday is Labor Day in almost the entire rest of the world, but because Communists do it, we obviously can’t. And I almost got my birthday off school, too…
I’ve read the Cartoon History of the Universe 1 and 2, the Cartoon Guide to the Environment, AOTSP, and some of the CHOT United States. I didn’t finish it because it began to bore me.
But I really liked the other ones.
WHAT DO YOU WANT, MR. GONICK? MUST WE BOW DOWN IN PRAYER AND KISS THE SILICON CONNECTING US? Because I’m doing it anyway. MUST WE PERFORM A SACRIFICE FOR YOU TO SPEAK TO US?
*bow*
*bow*
*indistinguishablechantinganddroning*
*bow*
*three clockwise turns*
*small bow*
*sacrifices a hot-pink bunny*
*ceremonialchantinganddroning*
*really deep bow*
*small bow*
*cleans up mess of pink printer’s ink left by sacrifice*
Finis
ARE YOU READY TO COME TALK TO US NOW, MR. GONICK?
i like potatoes.
Excuse me, but is it just my imagination or does Zyviva have an obsession with potatoes, which is consequentially the only word she appears to be able to spell correctly?
Ooh! Cartooon History of the Universe was by Larry Gonick? I love those books!
i have nothing by mr larry but muse
email mr gonick if you like him so much
tanya (dont know how i remember that)
i really should recommend cartoon history of the universe to my mom
in fact, i think i shall
not right now though.
if mr gonick ever appears, please tell him that if pwt is not the main character in his next book, i will sic my hpb army on him.

*kisses blog*
…
oops, you didn’t see me do that. hehehe.
When Mr. Gonick searches his name on Google, we’ll come up, and he’ll be TRAPPED! TRAPPED! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Come out Mr. Gonick, show me a sign. You can laugh with the Musers or cry with the others, the Musers are much more fun…
People who don’t go on the blog when we ask them to die young!
We have flying virtual choklit.
i’m telling you, go to his site and email him at *goes to lg’s site and looks for email adress* um, contact him with this contact form: http://www.larrygonick.com/html/con/con.html
“Well, go on–jump on him!” (Dory, in “Finding Nemo”)
In the space marked “Affiliation,” write “MuseBlog.” He knows where to find us.
i wasn’t going to, but i will now!
i did! and i remembered to capitalize things!
larry gonick is INSANE!!! *yay larry gonick* this is official in my mind…
Must we now suffer his wrath?
I haven’t contacted Mr. Gonick yet. Em and Ebeth should be quite enuff. If we haf to send in reinforcement troops, or me, Mr. Gonick is going to get the what-for but utterly. Zarquon, this “talk about it” strategy really isn’t working all that froodily.
Wrath? Who said anything about wrath? Mr. Gonick is undoubtedly sane. Indubitably. Rational is quite a different bunch of coconuts. Hm.
i will contact him if nessesary
which muse is he really??? (koko maybe?!!!) how do u do those little smiley thingys/
Ebeth will contact him now once again just to bug him and because he’s cool. And because he should get on here.
Although i didn’t actually tell him he was wanted on the blog last time, just that we made up cool slogans behind his back…
i told him we wanted him on the bog. i think i said somfing like ‘ hi! i’m from the museblog, and i represent a substantial number of people who have been deeply inspired by your work and have expressed wishes that you would come over here and say somthing profound, or intelligent, or just plain silly, we’re not picky.” and then i said that pwt pwns. i didn’t issue any ultimatums about pwt being the main character in his next book though. maybe he doesn’t like children.
all: *gasp*
I threatened him with a mob of stalker fans armed with pies if he didn’t come.
Oops. Hope i didn’t scare him away…
lol
maybe if everybody contacted him he would come. maybe his computer died. maybe i should ready my hpb army.
haha. let’s mobilize. Bum bum buuum…
*ranks of hpbs line up*
lg: nnnnooo! *runs away*
*hpbs run after lg flinging pistacios*
lg: aaaahhhh! *is dragged before crazy stalker fangirls*
crazy stalker fangirls: oohoohoohlarrygonickweloveyou!
hmm… maybe there’s a reason he hasn’t shown up.
OK, OK, OK!!! Don’t sacrifice any more hot pink bunnies on your computer! It’s leaking out of my cable modem! Here I am! Cartoon guy at your service!
Now what?
Any questions?
—the Overworked Cartoonist
Um… comment #2: some of you are offering up some pretty good ideas. I especially like the one about kokopelli going into a school. Question is: can I use it?
P.S. The way I remember middle school, Kokopelli must have already been there, tho we didn’t know it at the time.
YES! Can you put us in? As, um, maybe payback for all those sacrificial hot-pink bunnies?
oh yes. all of the poor hpbs. we’ll all miss them. they were good friends. but it was worth it! oh yes!
dead hpb: no it wasn’t
umumumum… questions… lets see… why is it kokopelli and company? why isn’t it pwt and company? why did pwt have the smallest muse role in the smart pies? do you have a problem with pwt? HUH? HUH? WELL?
em’sbro: i don’t know what too say. i read koko and co, but thats the only bit i read to the great annoyence of my sister unless you count the stuff my mom makes me read okay i didn’t actually write any of this stuff my sister wrote it.
nothing else. (my sister is weird)
when ebeth gets here she will most likely combust. jk.
Hi! im stil in middle school at the moment, and it would be cool for u to do one with Kokopelli in MS( i personaly hate school and dred getting up in the morning. But Koko would probably make it much more fun!). And i agree with Phoenix, it would be cool if you could put us in a book, tho u dont have to (it would be nice).
middle skool… yes use it even though it wasn’t my idea. if you put us in it probably wouldn’t work, because our personalities would get messed up. but you could use our names… not our online names. but you don’t have too. actualy, i don’t care unless a great bit of it involves pwt!
EBETH! we forgot to put mr gonick in attack of the hpbs!
i think it would be neat if your next book exposed kokos weak side – he has to have one! and then once all the other muses find out what it is they use it to their advantage… and in the end koko will learn a big lesson but still be a prankster of course, and he might make some new friends. + yeah itd be neat if a skool was incorporated into the setting.
k that was a little vague but anyways it was an idea
Cool!! Jadestons-on-the-who’s-here-page dance
Anyyyyyyway I dont know about Koko having a week side….. Maybe thy find somthing shocking about his past?
Or instead of a reg. school, you can make Koko go to the Muse Academy that we designed on the school thread. Finaly, we Musebloggers would be getting the publicity we deserve! Mostly Harmless* is in effect again! Mwhahahaahahhhaaaaa!
*Mostly Harmless is the Museblogger plan to take of the world, one pink bunny at a time, using Prince Charming, the Oscar Meyer Weiner Song, and a portable record player.
um, isn’t that what happened in the last one? sort of? anyway, in his next book kokopelli is going to be captured by… um… crazy stalker fangirls and held captive in a middle skool, and the other muses will try to rescue him, but will be waylaid by um.. thingys, er, mutant somfins.. and anyway pwt will save the way! yes, that is what happens! totally!
mr gonick, please dont be like WAM and leave after 2 posts. please.
Yes! Combusting now! WHEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Yes do stay! And if you musish people ever see each other, tell WAM/Naka to come back!
*gasp* Em! We made a shameful error!
Maybe we should write a sequel…
*gasp* I’ll be one of the crazy stalker fangirls that captures koko!!!!
I would make up a nickname for you but i happen to like calling you larry g. It rhymes.
So somebody else do it. If they want to.
When is the next koko+co book coming out? You are going to write another one…RIGHT???? *evil stare* Of course you are!!! *whispers to random hpb* Ready the hpb army…
lol
what about emma’s skool? and all of the crazy stalker fangirls should be named ebeth, beth, liz, lizzie, libby, eliza, and elizabeth. and um, lizabeth.
or, you can just illistrate attack of the hpbs and send ebeth and me lots of $$$$.
ooh yeah! I like that last idea Em!!!
lg emailed me! and i didn’t even notice. well, i checked earlier because i thought he might have, but i didn’t see it. its actually my parents email, so for future refrence, if you want me to respond, dont contact me there.
he’s The Cartoonist. or The Overworked Cartoonist. we can call him TOC.
most definately. scratch the other ideas, you’re illistrating hpbs. its on post…um… oh crap, wordpress database error. well, in case this post actually gets posted, its somewhere on the randomness thread.
You can totally use the middle-school idea. Go ahead, use it. Picking other people’s brains for ideas is fun.
Mr. Gonick! How nice of you to drop by! At the moment I am taking a break (OK, procrastinating) from studying for my Spanish midterm. Ay, caramba! I am also going to watch a Jeeves-Wooster DVD I found in the library. Some prat condensed ‘Right Ho, Jeeves”, a 300-page adventure, into a 30-minute episode. And switched the plot around. Ugh.
okay, wordpress error gone. its post 176
I think we should stop making up acronyms for everyone and just write their names.
Okay, so I started it by calling the GAPA Mr. Administrator, but I didn’t do anything after that other than translating it into Hebrew (Adon Moreh and Adon Madrich)
oh fine. if you want to.
everybody that has a name in the hg2mb keeps theirs, and no further acronyms will be issued.
what happened to larry g?
He’ll be back. He’s incredibly busy. It’s not easy to make a living as a cartoonist, even a brilliant one.
Zat’s ok i suppose. Except adults often choose strange names, like, for example, their real first and last names. But i shall hold off the acronyming for now. *sigh*
*gasp* larry g. left…hope he comes back…unlike some…*coughwam/nakacough* lol…
Me be bored…
i call the gapas admins or moderators, or robert and rosanne sometimes.
yeah. if he doesn’t appear in a month… no, thats not very nice. i thought he was famous, or something. i imagine it would be very difficult to make a living of any kind, but i live off my parents, so what would i know. as i see it, i have 2 choices: (1) inheirt alot of money (2) become a homeless artist en francais. well not really, but those are the easist ones.
haha mr blogmaster did you call up mr gonick and bribe him? with virtual choklit?
Nope, the MuseBloggers did it all by themselves. I think it was the bunny sacrifice that tipped the scales.
yeah? well i quoth his email: “…the Blogmaster has spoken to me about this,..”
How about highschool? I’m in highschool right now? I think that Pheonix’s idea about setting it in the Muse acadamey is a good one, though this is Larry Gonick’s book so he does get to decide things.
Mr. Gonick, is Bo lactose intolerant?
Sheep is back! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
who is Larry Gonick anyway?
Who is Larry Gonick? Are u MAD! He is the muse cartoonist. He draws the muses.
When I said, use *them*, I meant the ideas, not the people! But maybe I can use the people too… or at least their names…
Bo tolerates just about everything. Except falsehood.
And about working hard… I’m in the middle of drawing a 250 page book at the moment (Cartoon History of the Modern World, Part I), and that’s six to eight months of non-stop drawing, 10 hours a day. Whine whinge moan grouse whimper pout sniffle. I hope to put some updates about it on my own web site soon, but who has the time?
Ooh! Cartoon History of the World was good. I stole the first two books from my Grandpa, and then I showed the first one to my World History teacher last year, and she never gave it back. I’m not sure where the second one is either, now that I come to think of it.
Kokopelli likes pies, right? Well, what about donuts? Especially the jelly filled kind, with the sugar powder on top……..
no, thats feather. i ♥ feather
ello mr gonick. you dont ave to do anything, we’re just being zilly.
hi
la la la la la em is bored em is mad at the tyrannian shopkeeper he is evil em has nothing to do unless you count her hw hello to2f who are you? ow did you come about this site? did you discover it on the back of pwt crunch cearel?
*gasp* Larry G., you didn’t answer my question about pwt! That must mean you’re hiding something!
Pwt Pwns!
wow that’s a lotta drawing…go you. i can’t draw to save my life, but also note that i’m not a cartoonist. Well i suppose one reason is that i’m still in skool and not technically anything. Except a student. wheee!
em, the shopkeepers never have anything. It bugs me soooo much. That’s probably why my neopets never get fed. lol
btw, what constitues the modern world? Just everything that happens?
How is there a history of the modern world anyway? Like, stuff that happened yesterday? aaah…the pain in mine head.
Oh well never mind me and mine haircutting. i g2g now
The modern world is things that are relevant now, like 1990-today, and mostly today. You know?
Ebeth, why does your head hurt?
Poor Ebeth. I feel sorry for you, I really do.:(:(:( :(:(:( :(:(:( :(:(:( :(
the tyrannian furniture shopkeeper has stuff, (because tyrannian furniture is (literally) crap) and i was haggling something, and he kept raising the price 20 neopoints!
i can draw. sort of. im working on it. im not skilled enough to draw most everything i want to draw. and the terrible art teacher at our skool has set me back 2 years. she’ll probably get fired as soon as i leave.
ah, the modern world. terrible place. luckly, i dont have to live in it most of the time. i live in my head, which mostly resides somewhere outside of the world entirely.
Pondering the paradoxes of cartooning modern history.
I love haggling. ♥ I bug those virtual computer shopkeepers SO much!!! Fun times.
I can’t draw very well, but I rig things pretty well. What’s haggling? And what are yyou all talking about? {:X
my friend can drow so well, its scary. he draws fantasy stuff. i however, cannot draw well. i can draw, but badly
I have a couple friends who draw really well, and one bitter enemy that does too.
Haggling is another term for bartering. Or trading, or exchanging, or whatever else. On neopets, it’s where you go to the shops and argue with the shopkeepers over the price of the food. There’s never really much incentive to do this, since neopets can’t actually die, but it’s entertaining to watch them get mad. Actually it’s a pretty sad hobby, since the “shopkeepers” are just computers, and not real people. But whatever…
Just so you know, Muse fans, I personally am going to fade out of here for a while, because I want to go to the MEET THE MUSES thread and see what those extremely helpful, wise, and benevolent beings are saying when they aren’t getting in each other’s way.
mutt’s a master RSer. fear her. although the gift shopkeeper really gets on her nerves sometmes. -_- she did get thrown out of a shop once though. xD
Larry says he has to get back to work, so we’re closing this thread. Thanks for stopping by, O Esteemed Musemaster!
