first comment?? :O
i LOVE time magazine i want to editor in chief of time or muse or ellegirl when i get older.
but i think time would make the most money so i pick that one
I don’t.
wait…I don’t really understand. It’s the 100th issue or something? is that it?
please explain…/
Time magazine has just published its list of the 100 most influential people, including scientists and thinkers, politicians, and entertainers. Erato wants to discuss them and suggest a “Muse 100.”
I haven’t stolen that one yet…when did it come out?
It’s the May 8 issue, so it must have come out on May 1.
1. Kokopelli
I think that Steve Jobs should have been on the list. He is very influential in that he is the head of Pixar.
Another Thing: Why did Bill Clinton and George HW Bush have to make the list? It was so unesseary.
Its also dissapointing that they didn’t have any animal sicentists or activists on the list. Jeff Corwin would have been perfect for it.
I’m glad the Condoleezza Ricemade the list. Its good to see the first black female secretary of state honored.
In a Muse 100, I’d like to see the people who made the zebrafish discovery. Also: Lemony Snickett and Erin Hunter (Ok, Erin Hunter is really two people, but it counts).
Its also interesting that in 6 steps, Oprah Winfry can lead to The Kennedys. Its really funny how Rachel Ray has a sign that says “Martha Doesn’t live here”.
If one were Lemony Snicket, would it be Daniel Handler or Lemony Snicket, because they are actually different only one of them doesn’t actually exist? It would be so very cool to get on the list that every one would see, because so many people read Time. Also, is it influential people or people that you want to honor/ admire? They are also very different things. For example, the presidents are v. influential (they have a lot of power over the US) but not necessarily the most outstandingly interesting people on the face of this planet.
Who was on the lisst? can you find it online?
You can see it here. I’ll add a link up above, too.
Zwendelina (9): Time‘s list just includes people who affect other people’s lives most. It’s not a seal of approval. The Muse 100 could be, though.
I think I would would get legal isues with TIME uif I told you the whole list…. but Bart Simpson was in the 6 step game, so he is apparently influential.

This year’s TIME 100 is a hefty issue packed with the people who define our times
Meet The Other 100
These People Matter Most—to Joel Stein
I got that list from
http://www.time.com/time/2006/time100/
GAPA, zap it if you want, but I think it’s only fair that since it has its own thread, people should be able to see it.
Do the flickr founders really belong on the list> Flickr isn’t that popular… now, the photobucket founders….
Interesting
ooooooooooooo
Is it me, or am I the only one here disscussing the Time 100?
I love Time! I want my own subscription for my birthday in August! But death to Time For Kids. Tenrec and Hot Pink Bunny induced death.
Muse 100 might be interesting.
MontgomeryGurl has already nominated Kokopelli for number 1 (see comment 7). With him standing there spinning a warm pie on his little two-dimensional fingertip, I suspect nobody is eager to be number 2.
number two should be our GAPA’s. (p.s.- i had better get extra credit for that nomination)
How about justice Sandra Day O’Connor on the Muse 100? Of should we keep polotics out?
I think we should have politics!
How ’bout putting in She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named?
Hillary Clinton?
Condoleezza Rice?
oh. I just realized that there is a link on the top of the page to the time 100 thing. I feel stupid…
I think the GAPAs should be on the Muse 100!!
Awwwww.
A Hot Pink Bunny’s got to be in the Muse 100. And so does the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl — guardian of the cocoa tree.
No one said the Muse 100 had to be human, did they?
Douglas Adams!
I was slightly surprised to see Stephen Colbert on the list. He’s getting a lot of publicity now. First speaking for the President, then on the Times 100 list……
I would put Terry Pratchett on the Muse 100 list. Totally.
I vote Bob for the Hot Pink Bunny!!!
Yes, the GAPA are definitely up there.
Wait, but WHO is Quetzalcoatl guarding the tree for? Or just generally guarding it? And who is he guarding it against? Anyone in particular?
*tries to hide evil smile and assume completely innocent expression, solely in pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. Fails completely*
I think that all the Kokopelli&Company characters should be on the muse 100.
7- huh??!?!?
WOW i was the first post!!!!! :O :O that never happened before!
18- i agree! :nods:
hmm…..it would be hard to think up 100 relating to muse, unless every single one was just people that had articles in it, worked in the magazine, or was a muse…..or a hot pink bunny
influential…
currently?
as in alive now?
i guess so.
is fidel casro on the list?
and othe dictators like the orth korean one?
there influential TOO!
if in a bad way …
IU think they mean ifluential in a good way.
Then again, George W. Bush was on that list…
Douglas Adams should be on there.
Kokopelli
GAPA
Quetzalcoatl
Terry Pratchett
–
Douglas Adams
Stephen Moore
Slug Sigorino
A Hot Pink Bunny
P.G. Wodehouse
Lewis Carroll
Isaac Newton
Frans de Waal
Bonobos
How am I doing here?
Then again, post 8, who wouldn’t be important with a name like condoleezza?
Why was TP in the first four?
Ok: Here’s what we’ve got so far. If I missed any, pie me, and tell me what I’ve missed.

Kokopelli

How about Larry G? And She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named? And the PB&J? Naka? PAW? Pollyhymnia? And GAPA needs two spaces (two spaces, two GAPA
). And do dead people count? If so, the Beatles. Dur. The Pythons, definitely. You’ve got DNA, good job *clapclap* Add Funke. The FMP isn’t a person. Neither are Bonobos or Tenrecs, although if you want a specific, named one (like bob the hpb), that works. How about JRR Tolkein?
I don’t think dead people count on the Time 100 though, do they?
Oh well.
Einstein?
We learned about string theory in math today (yes, in math. dont ask). It’s so cool!
Anyway.
Ebeth is most certainly correct, the Pythons and the Beatles must be there.
We need some more artists. Da Vinci. Van Gogh. Pizzaro (is that how you spell it?). Or somebody else. Who do you people suggest?
the current list:
Douglas Adams
Kokopelli
Urania
Pwt
Craaw
Chad

String theory is a hobby of mine. If you want help with it, let me know.
What about we add Thor Heyerdahl? He’s Muserish. And NO Watson or Crick, or Wilkins, because what they did to Franklin was awful, immoral, illegitimate, and completely lacking in integrity.
How about… Seinfeld?
raise your hand if you have no idea who Queenie is talking about *tenatalively raises hand, then scurries of to google*
What abotu William Penn? he was a complete jerk to Ben Franklin, and weneed to recognise him for that and founding Pennsylviania (Which, by the way, means “Penns Woodlands”)
45- *raises hand and then melts into floor of stupidity and ignorance*
me thinks……………you forgot lerry gonick
me thinks……………tpspop
me thinks……………me!!
no im kidding about the last 2………..ummmmmm……….*thinks hard*………i dont know
Well, it’s not gonna be a list of the most influencial people, so it’ll probably be a list of the best people in the world according to Muse.

Seinfeld
William Penn
Ben Franklin

I think Pennsylvania means “Penn’s Woods” not woodlands, but I’m not positive about that. Actually, Pennsylvania wasn’t named for William Penn, but for his father. Look it up.
George Clooney.
Aw! I made the Cool 100 list! Yay!

I will henceforth venerate pandas, and not just purple ones. I hereby make an Official Request to the Powers That Be. MUSE 100 should come with free pie. OK, it’s difficult to insert as a centrefold. So include a voucher, redeemable at all good pie shops. Please include some British ones. I like pie.

Today is Bonos birthday!
No, people bob is a hot pink bunny, not a tenrec!!! Read Attack of the Hot Pink Bunnies, a most wondrous story by Em and myself. (w00t! *high-fives em* go us!)
Do any of the tenrecs have names? We should name one. How about Fred? Fred’s a nice name. Fred the tenrec then…he’ll be the one in the table of contents in the mag.
Impressive list so far. I’d have to agree Her Majesty-everybody from H2g2. Ickenham, yes. And do add Emsworth, he cracks me up.
Of course, if we get into fictional characters, we might have to have the Muse 100000000000000000000 instead…
