Okay, since this this basically a random thread, I have a random question. I’m stuck, but maybe someone can help. For some reason my computer is suddenly displaying everything at twice its normal size! All icons, windows, text, and everything else are huge! YAY! New one. I was gone waaaaaaaaay too long yesterday because I was dragged to a little league game but then my parents went to visit my aunt so I had to go to the house of my sister’s friend and didn’t leave until ten by which time i was really tired so I just passed out when I got home. And I am going to find that uber-expensive pair of sixteen-holer Docs. I need those things for a party I’m attending. Yes, I will be dressed to terminate entire galaxies. Hey, I’m a queen. I used to have an entire wing for my stylists to habitate in, complete with about six storerooms. Ah, those were the days. One of those storerooms was ALL Docs, another was checkered, two were formal, and the remaining two were full of something-I kno not wot.

We believe in honest labeling. Adults have to post under their own names, not under pseudonyms. Adults are capable of causing a lot more trouble than kids are, and I can’t think of any valid reason for an adult to want to pose as a kid. It is hard to tell who is really posting. But our software gives us a bit more information about posters than appears on the blog, and anyone we catch impersonating a minor will be banned immediately. Even if it’s someone we like.
Several MuseBloggers have told us that their parents let them come here precisely because Rosanne and I keep such a close watch on things. People who have experienced other online forums probably have stories about what can happen at more loosely run sites.
Sorry to sound so severe, but this is one thing about which the Administrators do not have a sense of humor.

71-I saw that yestiddy! Sarah and i were going to see Hoot but there was construction on her street and a bit of a mix-up w/times so we were way late so we watched that instead. It was v. good. V. geeky too. Me loves.
I was in that bee 3 yrs but never made it past regionals. I was rather apathetic about the whole thing actually…i didn’t study much. Basically, harriet+i had to win our skools because then we got to go to a party together w/other spleling geeks and it was much fun. (She went to the catholic skool)
So yah. Fun times.
In science today we had a lab and jacob was partnerless so he went w/me+lizzy…ah, good times. Basically lizzy and i argue the whole time, and do it the next day in the 10 min. he gives us then. Dunno why, just what we do. So jacob was sort of taking charge, like “lizzy, do that” and suchlike, so we started ranting at him about women’s rights and telling him we weren’t gonna vote for him. So now that’s our new insult. “I’m not gonna vote for you!!!” Yep. Oh and we sang lots of billy joel. And i threatened to sue andy for indecency because he finished before us. We accomplished nothing of any importance. All in all, a good class.

to continue w/ the randomness…i didnt know stir fry was so easy to make! i was out of ideas for dinner, and we have a ton of veggies in the fridge, so i just hacked up several different kinds, added some almonds + sesame/wok oil, + fried them for about 10 minutes. it was relly good!

97-Four hours of piano per day is the normal stretch for me. I find it keeps my musical talents well oiled. Actually, there’s a terrifically nasty stretch of jazz that makes my fingers hurt, so I’ve been leaving it out for a while. If my music teacher finds out she’ll shoot me.
102-I have stir fry and Ting for brekker every morning. I don’t eat lunch anymore, and dinner rarely, so brekker is v. important and an event I would hate to miss.
Can we stop talking about WWW safety? It’s oppressively boring, you know. I mean, the scruples get pounded into us by every beak, adult, grown-up person and suchlike we meet, and then our own GAPA, swete tho they be, feel the overwhelming need to start adding in the chorus. Recently, I read a book about a girl with synesthesia. Synesthesia is when your senses are “connected” and you see things when you hear things. Like if a door slams, a big brown ring appears in the air. Or when a phone rings, red spirals happen near it. Every letter of the alphabet and every number has a different color. It sounds pretty cool to me. I wonder what it’s like to see the whole world in color?

I got my muse yesterday! So I finally got to read the infamous Tiffany and Laney’s letter. I found it insulting. So, maybe we are nerds, I wouldn’t necessarily mind if they had just called us nerds. It’s the way they called us nerds that was insulting. I do not think they deserved there own thread. If they were playing a prank and do actually like Muse, they should be ashamed of themselves for saying mean things about it.

guys, i accidentally watched the princess bride (harvest moon is the slowest video game ever made; you have to watch a lot of dvds on your portable dvd player otherwise you will de of boredom while playing it) and now i absolutely have to read the book again. luckily i bought it with my birthday money. good job too, darn good book.
i am listening to the phantom of the opera soundtrack on itunes (clap for em, she hath discovered itunes) raise your hand if you are addicted to PotO! i absolutely love it! when i was sick all i did all day was listen to it, and for a long time afterward i was constantly singing the songs. incorrectly and out of tune, as my friends pointed out. lousy bunch of critics they are. they criticize my art constantly. i mean, i drew a horse, and libby, who knows absolutely nothing about horses or drawing, insisted upon giving it plastic surgery. it was a bloody horse head, for god’s sake!

w00t! I just finished part of my advertising project. We had to make a commercial for shoes. I jist finished editing it and adding all the sparkles and ribbons (obviously, i meant that metaphoricly).
It was really funny. I filmed it with 2 other friends, one who is really short and one who is really tall. I showed the tall one beating the short in one in all these sports. Then my short friend goes out and buys the shoes, and then she beats my tall freind in all the sports. Not the most original idea, I know, but it was fun anyway.
The best part though, was at the end of the commercial, when the short girl beats the tall girl. I put in slow motion and had “Chariots of Fire” playing. (if you havent seen “Chariots of Fire, go see it. now. if only for it’s awesome soundtrack.)

my skool caught on fire today!!!
...i was so happy, i almost cried!
im not kidding. so...it was 5th hr when the fire alarm went off. we all went out into the courtyard, thinking that the skool administrator ppls had just decided to schedule another fire drill b/c it had been pouring rain nonstop all day. so after about 5 min of standing outside getting drenched, we realized that this was not a drill, and that there could indeed be an actual fire...then someone yells "hey, theres fire trucks in front of the skool!"...+ a lot of ppl freaked. however, my friends + i were overjoyed, + immediately, in unision, screamed "OH MY"... something... and decided to run around to the front of the skool & see the fire trucks.
unfortunately, we ran into my physics teacher soon after, so we couldnt venture any further. when the all clear bell finally rang, i headed for my locker. the fire had been in the bathroom in F building, which was no more than 40 feet away from my locker! there was this black sludge everywhere; later i found out that it was all the crud that had collected in the emergency sprinklers. gross.
this is what supposedly happened: two girls (idiots) were smoking in the bathroom, and one suddenly got the bright idea to light a fire . the emergency sprinklers were triggered immediately after they lit it, & they got covered in black sludge. ha. guess they kinda deserved it. + no one was hurt. thats TC drama for you.
today relly was awesome.

Musers, I have a question regarding mp3 players. I don’t have one, but I know that some of you do, and I’m looking for opinions.
Does anyone have a fourth-generation iPod? That’s the one I’m mostly looking at right now, because it’s got a whole lot of space (I’d use about 10% of it, but whatever), I can get a refurbished one for under $175, they’re easy to use, and I’ve got a Mac and iTunes already.
I could shell out the extra $100 and get an iPod Video, but I really don’t want the extra features and I haven’t got the cash.
Failing that, I’m also looking at an iRiver or a Creative Zen, but I don’t know if I can get them with a decent amount of space for anywhere as cheap. Also, I think the newest versions of the Zen, which is the one I’d probably get, are kind of tacky, what with the colored screens and all. iRivers are really cute, but they’re kind of expensive for the amount of space they give.

231- i cant speak for the old ones, but nanos fill up FAST and die easily. they get damaged pretty easily, too. i had mine hooked up to my iHome and the plug connecting my iHome to the electrical outlet wasn’t all the way in, so the iPod wouldn’t turn on for 2 days, then it wouldn’t turn off for 8.

Hey, that fire thing happened to my school twice!
The first time, this high school kid was lighting a burner with a match for some reason. He apparently FORGOT IT WAS LIT and put it in the garbage can. Of course forgetting a lit match is flammable is a mistake everyone can make. The garbage can caught on fire, so the principle of the school grabbed the garbage can and ran around the room. It was really funny.
The second time, the people in the kitchen were warming up the frozen, congealed pizza and it caught on fire. It was puring outside, majorly puring, so it wasn’t comfortable for us evacuees. Anyway, the cafeteria people put out the fire by pouring buckets of water on the pizza. Then, when we came in, dranched, it was lunchtime–and they made us eat the blackened, soggy pizza. Nice, eh?

Zallie: Zens rock. I have the old version, and it’s just the best thing of all time. It cost a lot less than and iPod (the one I got was about $220), it’ll hold 5,000 (or somewhere around in there, I think it’s more), and it’s actually better working than most other players(it doesn’t mess up nearly as much as iPods do). It’s also really easy to use. I’d recommend a Zen any day. I haven’t seen the new version, but I see the old one around a lot of places (of course, that could just be because we’re all way behind down here in hick country). Hope you find the right mp3 player!

Two days ago, my friend found a snake [yes, an actual, living, breathing snake] but the busdriver didn’t believe her. She’s terrified of snakes. So he finally checked it out and eventually took the snake out of the bus. Today, the little kids from RandomGradeSchoolA brought in a fake snake and she started screaming like crazy when she found it. Then our friend threw it at her and she got soooo mad and started hitting him with her coat. ‘t was hillarious. Until he threw it in my hair and it got tangled. Then it was annoying, because I tried to mess-up his hair back but it’s too short. The bus driver thought that it was funny, though, and we didn’t get banned from the bus.

I am so very sad because I missed random day. On fridays, I walk to school, and yesterday I forgot about it being random day, so I didn’t remember to post something random. I like tarantulas, too! They are really awesome.
Today, I had avery unpleasant experience. I was writing a skit in a group that happened to include my archenemy. He took out a packet of rubber bands and began to flick them at everyone. I got fed up and took them away from him–whereupon he started advancing on me. I got in a few blows, but I had a problem in that I didn’t want to hurt him. I just kept retreating.
Eventualy we made it into the hall, where he got in front of me and wouldn’t let me past in any direction. I was kind of backed against the wall, so I did what I could–punched him in the stomach and ran while he was busy doubling over. Being the idiotic maniac he was, he chased me.
That’s when the principle showed up. I had just stopped to make a stand and possibly kick him in the kneecap, and I guess from her position it looked like we were flirting or something, because she started to scream at us and told us to get into the office and wait for her.
Naturally, the idiot kid left almost as soon as we got there, but I waited–and waited, and waited. I waited the rest of the period and through lunch and into the next period. I guess she forgot.
Well, I guess I’m just going to find her and explain. Dear heaven, I HATE that kid!

& we did an interesting lab in physics. it involved a candle. no, im not a pyro. im just fascinated w/ candles…i hav about 25 of them, actually. can anyone else pinch out a candle? its fun!

So, we’ve been dissecting fetal pigs in Biology this week.
Oh, man, it’s so cool- you can see all of the interal organs and we got one of the ones injected with latex so you can see all the veins and arteries and ripping the mesoderm (I think that’s the right term) and the pericardium to free arteries/veins/kidneys/the heart is so fun and oh man, it’s just completely cool. And we saw the stomach and the gallbladder and the liver (of course, it takes up about half of the space below the diaphragm) and the heart and the epiglottis and the trachea and the bladder and umbilical cord and kidneys and lungs (which look like they’re two-part- at first my lab partner and I thought that both lungs were on the same side of the heart and were all confused) and the spleen (SPLEEN!!!) and we coudn’t find the ovarys (we have a female pig) but all the veins and arteries are really cool and everyone should take bio pre-ap so they get to dissect a pig instead of just a frog.
In other news, it’s less than two months to my birthday, I STILL haven’t gotten the May Muse (my subscription was running out but my parents renewed but they still haven’t mailed it), less than 10 days until school is out, some of my friends will be graduating, and I’m feeling really depressed about my playing- I feel like it’s all messy and not working and I can’t do anything I want to do and I’ve got a competition coming up and I feel like I’m not ready and I’m worried about performance anxiety and basically my violin playing sounds crummy. To me, at least. Suggestions, anyone? Should I just go drown myself in chocolate?

(291) dissecting fetal pigs, wow. My sister did that. She wasnt such a huge fan though. She thought it was interesting but she didn’t like the cutting open muscles and stuff.
Heres my advice for when you feel frusterated about you rplaying (trust me, I know this one well): It’s ok to feel frusterated, in fact it’s inevitable, but you just have to keep on going. Like, even if the music doesnt come to you at all, just keep screeching/squeaking/clanking along, and eventually you will improve. I guess you already knew that. But also, don’t give yourself greif about messing up and failing sometimes. Just remember that everyone fails, but even if you dont do well this time, it’s not the end of the world. You will improve, and you will do well. Basically, don’t bring yourself down about it.

But I just decided on exactly what you said- people will enjoy it anyway. They’ve never heard you play it before, so they probably don’t have any expectations (well, I don’t know if that’s your situatiuon, but it was mine). Also, I just reminded myself why I play piano- because I enjoy it. So just enjoy yourself, I guess, is another way of thinking about it.

*sigh* I really hate to do this, but I feel I must.
I’m retiring from the blog. I won’t be coming here anymore. I want to keep in contact with those of you who I’ve made contact with outside this Musiverse, but for the rest of you I don’t think I’ll ever be able to talk to again.
There are several reasons for this. The first is that this blog just isn’t as much fun as it used to be. It used to be that you could check in two or three times a day, read all the comments, reply to several of them, and then post something and come back a little later and have someone have replied to it. Now people post constantly, and most of the time about entirely disconnected things. No one bothers to read all the comments anymore, so the replying and having conversations is almost totally lost. It’s really a shame, too. But so much of the fun is gone from this blog, I can’t see that it’s worth all the time it takes.
The second reason is actually more pressing to me. I hate to say this, but it seems like every time I come on here something else is posted insulting, undermining, attacking, or just plain going against what I believe (mainly religion). It’s really annoying to be reading some comments, and have some other snide remark about my faith thrown in. I really don’t feel that I can continue to hang out somewhere where my beliefs are constantly being made to seem stupid. Eventually, that kind of stuff gets to you. I’ve been ignoring this for a while, with the vague idea that I would “help you” by talking about trivial matters and ignoring your remarks, but I know I should leave.
I’m sorry about this. I really am. I don’t exist on Nation States anymore (I’m not sure if I’ll go back or not), so you can’t get me there. If you want to find me, talk to Ebeth. I’ll check back in tomorrow night and say one last good-bye, and then I won’t come in at all. I really don’t want to have to do this, but I lose so much time and energy on here, I think I have to.

I used to have an entire wing for my stylists to habitate in, complete with about six storerooms. Ah, those were the days. One of those storerooms was ALL Docs, another was checkered, two were formal, and the remaining two were full of something-I kno not wot.

Went to take placement tests at my favored high school today. Before, between, and after the tests they pumped us with doghnuts, soda, orange juice, pizza, and ice cream sundaes, and we played mind games. SO awesome.

GAPA – why is it wrong for an adult to post as a kid (I’m a kid,…but I was just wondering) how would you tell that someone was acting as a kid?
We believe in honest labeling. Adults have to post under their own names, not under pseudonyms. Adults are capable of causing a lot more trouble than kids are, and I can’t think of any valid reason for an adult to want to pose as a kid. It is hard to tell who is really posting. But our software gives us a bit more information about posters than appears on the blog, and anyone we catch impersonating a minor will be banned immediately. Even if it’s someone we like.
Several MuseBloggers have told us that their parents let them come here precisely because Rosanne and I keep such a close watch on things. People who have experienced other online forums probably have stories about what can happen at more loosely run sites.
Sorry to sound so severe, but this is one thing about which the Administrators do not have a sense of humor.

71-I saw that yestiddy! Sarah and i were going to see Hoot but there was construction on her street and a bit of a mix-up w/times so we were way late so we watched that instead. It was v. good. V. geeky too. Me loves.
I was in that bee 3 yrs but never made it past regionals. I was rather apathetic about the whole thing actually…i didn’t study much. Basically, harriet+i had to win our skools because then we got to go to a party together w/other spleling geeks and it was much fun. (She went to the catholic skool)
So yah. Fun times.
In science today we had a lab and jacob was partnerless so he went w/me+lizzy…ah, good times. Basically lizzy and i argue the whole time, and do it the next day in the 10 min. he gives us then. Dunno why, just what we do. So jacob was sort of taking charge, like “lizzy, do that” and suchlike, so we started ranting at him about women’s rights and telling him we weren’t gonna vote for him. So now that’s our new insult. “I’m not gonna vote for you!!!” Yep. Oh and we sang lots of billy joel. And i threatened to sue andy for indecency because he finished before us. We accomplished nothing of any importance. All in all, a good class.

today we went to the comp lab during govt again, + my friend + i went to urban dictionary. i swear, ppl hav made up some sort of obnoxious connotation for just about every word in the english language. but, it makes good entertainment to look up innocent seeming words there. i tried to enter a definition for
mrahr,but it wouldnt let me for some reason…ill try again l8r…to continue w/ the randomness…i didnt know stir fry was so easy to make! i was out of ideas for dinner, and we have a ton of veggies in the fridge, so i just hacked up several different kinds, added some almonds + sesame/wok oil, + fried them for about 10 minutes. it was relly good!

97-Four hours of piano per day is the normal stretch for me. I find it keeps my musical talents well oiled. Actually, there’s a terrifically nasty stretch of jazz that makes my fingers hurt, so I’ve been leaving it out for a while. If my music teacher finds out she’ll shoot me.

Recently, I read a book about a girl with synesthesia. Synesthesia is when your senses are “connected” and you see things when you hear things. Like if a door slams, a big brown ring appears in the air. Or when a phone rings, red spirals happen near it. Every letter of the alphabet and every number has a different color. It sounds pretty cool to me. I wonder what it’s like to see the whole world in color?

w00t! I just finished part of my advertising project. We had to make a commercial for shoes. I jist finished editing it and adding all the sparkles and ribbons (obviously, i meant that metaphoricly).
It was really funny. I filmed it with 2 other friends, one who is really short and one who is really tall. I showed the tall one beating the short in one in all these sports. Then my short friend goes out and buys the shoes, and then she beats my tall freind in all the sports. Not the most original idea, I know, but it was fun anyway.
The best part though, was at the end of the commercial, when the short girl beats the tall girl. I put in slow motion and had “Chariots of Fire” playing. (if you havent seen “Chariots of Fire, go see it. now. if only for it’s awesome soundtrack.)

my skool caught on fire today!!!...i was so happy, i almost cried!
im not kidding. so...it was 5th hr when the fire alarm went off. we all went out into the courtyard, thinking that the skool administrator ppls had just decided to schedule another fire drill b/c it had been pouring rain nonstop all day. so after about 5 min of standing outside getting drenched, we realized that this was not a drill, and that there could indeed be an actual fire...then someone yells "hey, theres fire trucks in front of the skool!"...+ a lot of ppl freaked. however, my friends + i were overjoyed, + immediately, in unision, screamed "OH MY"... something... and decided to run around to the front of the skool & see the fire trucks.
unfortunately, we ran into my physics teacher soon after, so we couldnt venture any further. when the all clear bell finally rang, i headed for my locker. the fire had been in the bathroom in F building, which was no more than 40 feet away from my locker! there was this black sludge everywhere; later i found out that it was all the crud that had collected in the emergency sprinklers. gross.
this is what supposedly happened: two girls (idiots) were smoking in the bathroom, and one suddenly got the bright idea to light a fire . the emergency sprinklers were triggered immediately after they lit it, & they got covered in black sludge. ha. guess they kinda deserved it. + no one was hurt. thats TC drama for you.

Musers, I have a question regarding mp3 players. I don’t have one, but I know that some of you do, and I’m looking for opinions.
Does anyone have a fourth-generation iPod? That’s the one I’m mostly looking at right now, because it’s got a whole lot of space (I’d use about 10% of it, but whatever), I can get a refurbished one for under $175, they’re easy to use, and I’ve got a Mac and iTunes already.
I could shell out the extra $100 and get an iPod Video, but I really don’t want the extra features and I haven’t got the cash.
Failing that, I’m also looking at an iRiver or a Creative Zen, but I don’t know if I can get them with a decent amount of space for anywhere as cheap. Also, I think the newest versions of the Zen, which is the one I’d probably get, are kind of tacky, what with the colored screens and all. iRivers are really cute, but they’re kind of expensive for the amount of space they give.

231- i cant speak for the old ones, but nanos fill up FAST and die easily. they get damaged pretty easily, too. i had mine hooked up to my iHome and the plug connecting my iHome to the electrical outlet wasn’t all the way in, so the iPod wouldn’t turn on for 2 days, then it wouldn’t turn off for 8.

right now, all that’s happening is that in Consumer and Careers people are making cookies and everyone’s hungrier than usual, but they’re letting us out of lunch too early, so we have less time to eat. more people are buying lunch, so it takes longer to get food.

Hey, that fire thing happened to my school twice!
The first time, this high school kid was lighting a burner with a match for some reason. He apparently FORGOT IT WAS LIT and put it in the garbage can. Of course forgetting a lit match is flammable is a mistake everyone can make. The garbage can caught on fire, so the principle of the school grabbed the garbage can and ran around the room. It was really funny.
The second time, the people in the kitchen were warming up the frozen, congealed pizza and it caught on fire. It was puring outside, majorly puring, so it wasn’t comfortable for us evacuees. Anyway, the cafeteria people put out the fire by pouring buckets of water on the pizza. Then, when we came in, dranched, it was lunchtime–and they made us eat the blackened, soggy pizza. Nice, eh?

Zallie: Zens rock. I have the old version, and it’s just the best thing of all time. It cost a lot less than and iPod (the one I got was about $220), it’ll hold 5,000 (or somewhere around in there, I think it’s more), and it’s actually better working than most other players(it doesn’t mess up nearly as much as iPods do). It’s also really easy to use. I’d recommend a Zen any day. I haven’t seen the new version, but I see the old one around a lot of places (of course, that could just be because we’re all way behind down here in hick country). Hope you find the right mp3 player!

Two days ago, my friend found a snake [yes, an actual, living, breathing snake] but the busdriver didn’t believe her. She’s terrified of snakes. So he finally checked it out and eventually took the snake out of the bus. Today, the little kids from RandomGradeSchoolA brought in a fake snake and she started screaming like crazy when she found it. Then our friend threw it at her and she got soooo mad and started hitting him with her coat. ‘t was hillarious. Until he threw it in my hair and it got tangled. Then it was annoying, because I tried to mess-up his hair back but it’s too short. The bus driver thought that it was funny, though, and we didn’t get banned from the bus.

I am so very sad because I missed random day. On fridays, I walk to school, and yesterday I forgot about it being random day, so I didn’t remember to post something random. One time at my old school, they burned popcorn in the mike, and then the fire alarm went off. Also, my Spanish teacher this year taught a class where they watched movies, and she made mike popcorn, but she had never made it before, so she burned it really badly.

I have 4 madagascar hissing cockroaches. They are about 3 1/2 inches long!
It took me SO LONG convince my mom to let me have them (the cockroaches)…when our hermit crabs died, I pretended to feel really sad, etc, and I wrote a long paper about why madagascar hissing cockroaches are such good pets, so she finally gave in.

Today, I had avery unpleasant experience. I was writing a skit in a group that happened to include my archenemy. He took out a packet of rubber bands and began to flick them at everyone. I got fed up and took them away from him–whereupon he started advancing on me. I got in a few blows, but I had a problem in that I didn’t want to hurt him. I just kept retreating.
Eventualy we made it into the hall, where he got in front of me and wouldn’t let me past in any direction. I was kind of backed against the wall, so I did what I could–punched him in the stomach and ran while he was busy doubling over. Being the idiotic maniac he was, he chased me.
That’s when the principle showed up. I had just stopped to make a stand and possibly kick him in the kneecap, and I guess from her position it looked like we were flirting or something, because she started to scream at us and told us to get into the office and wait for her.
Naturally, the idiot kid left almost as soon as we got there, but I waited–and waited, and waited. I waited the rest of the period and through lunch and into the next period. I guess she forgot.
Well, I guess I’m just going to find her and explain. Dear heaven, I HATE that kid!

taarantulas are arachnids, not bugs, and not all of them are giant. and they live all over the place. do you live in the southwest jadestone? i live on the coast and we have them here too.
So, we’ve been dissecting fetal pigs in Biology this week.
Oh, man, it’s so cool- you can see all of the interal organs and we got one of the ones injected with latex so you can see all the veins and arteries and ripping the mesoderm (I think that’s the right term) and the pericardium to free arteries/veins/kidneys/the heart is so fun and oh man, it’s just completely cool. And we saw the stomach and the gallbladder and the liver (of course, it takes up about half of the space below the diaphragm) and the heart and the epiglottis and the trachea and the bladder and umbilical cord and kidneys and lungs (which look like they’re two-part- at first my lab partner and I thought that both lungs were on the same side of the heart and were all confused) and the spleen (SPLEEN!!!) and we coudn’t find the ovarys (we have a female pig) but all the veins and arteries are really cool and everyone should take bio pre-ap so they get to dissect a pig instead of just a frog.
In other news, it’s less than two months to my birthday, I STILL haven’t gotten the May Muse (my subscription was running out but my parents renewed but they still haven’t mailed it), less than 10 days until school is out, some of my friends will be graduating, and I’m feeling really depressed about my playing- I feel like it’s all messy and not working and I can’t do anything I want to do and I’ve got a competition coming up and I feel like I’m not ready and I’m worried about performance anxiety and basically my violin playing sounds crummy. To me, at least. Suggestions, anyone? Should I just go drown myself in chocolate?

Heres my advice for when you feel frusterated about you rplaying (trust me, I know this one well): It’s ok to feel frusterated, in fact it’s inevitable, but you just have to keep on going. Like, even if the music doesnt come to you at all, just keep screeching/squeaking/clanking along, and eventually you will improve. I guess you already knew that. But also, don’t give yourself greif about messing up and failing sometimes. Just remember that everyone fails, but even if you dont do well this time, it’s not the end of the world. You will improve, and you will do well. Basically, don’t bring yourself down about it.

But I just decided on exactly what you said- people will enjoy it anyway. They’ve never heard you play it before, so they probably don’t have any expectations (well, I don’t know if that’s your situatiuon, but it was mine). Also, I just reminded myself why I play piano- because I enjoy it. So just enjoy yourself, I guess, is another way of thinking about it.

I’m retiring from the blog. I won’t be coming here anymore. I want to keep in contact with those of you who I’ve made contact with outside this Musiverse, but for the rest of you I don’t think I’ll ever be able to talk to again.
There are several reasons for this. The first is that this blog just isn’t as much fun as it used to be. It used to be that you could check in two or three times a day, read all the comments, reply to several of them, and then post something and come back a little later and have someone have replied to it. Now people post constantly, and most of the time about entirely disconnected things. No one bothers to read all the comments anymore, so the replying and having conversations is almost totally lost. It’s really a shame, too. But so much of the fun is gone from this blog, I can’t see that it’s worth all the time it takes.
The second reason is actually more pressing to me. I hate to say this, but it seems like every time I come on here something else is posted insulting, undermining, attacking, or just plain going against what I believe (mainly religion). It’s really annoying to be reading some comments, and have some other snide remark about my faith thrown in. I really don’t feel that I can continue to hang out somewhere where my beliefs are constantly being made to seem stupid. Eventually, that kind of stuff gets to you. I’ve been ignoring this for a while, with the vague idea that I would “help you” by talking about trivial matters and ignoring your remarks, but I know I should leave.
I’m sorry about this. I really am. I don’t exist on Nation States anymore (I’m not sure if I’ll go back or not), so you can’t get me there. If you want to find me, talk to Ebeth. I’ll check back in tomorrow night and say one last good-bye, and then I won’t come in at all. I really don’t want to have to do this, but I lose so much time and energy on here, I think I have to.
