Yay, thanks, GAPAs!
So. What animal do you think you’re most like? I’m a cat.
Hehe, mouse for me. I like mice. ^^
methinks an owl.
I’m a cat/bird. But in a previous life I was a rabbit.
Fish
Maybe a bird?
Cougar
Probabaly a dolphin.
Ummm………maybe a dog? I dunno. But I took a patronus quiz and it was a wolf…..so maybe it’s that? MissSwann’s patronus was an elephant.
If you could have any superpower what would it be? Mine would be the ability to fly.
I’d like to be invisible…
Flight or omnilingualism. (The ability to speak every language fluently)
I would have either omnilingualism, flight, or invisibility. But probably the first one. That would be amazing…
Probably telekinesis. Or telepathy. Or teleportation. I like figuring out stuff about minds.
telekinesis? That’s a stage in mitosis and meiosis. Does that mean you can clone yourself at will?
(sorry for the double post) let me make myself clear: mitosis and meiosis are forms of cell division, and telekinesis is the stage in which the original (mother) cell splits into the two new “daughter” cells. The rest of it is genetic stuff I don’t feel like talking about at the moment, or the difference between mitosis and meiosis, if you already know, yay, if not, ( my catchphrase is coming up) look it up!
Whoops, I probably look a bit stupid now, but I got mixed up, there is no such stage as telekinesis. There s telophase and cytokinesis, but I was a bit tired at the time of posing.
So what is telekinesis?
The ability to move things with one’s thoughts.
I’d like flying or timetravelling or super-intelligence.
Um, where’s the patronus quiz? I want to go there!
1- I don’t know, probably a dog, I guess. I like dogs. (So does almost everyone else.)
5- Shape-shifting. That would be totally awesome.
Which muse (including Devil) is your favorite?
I don’t like dogs. And Aeiou and Urania are my favorite Muses.
1- A cat… (Although the patronus test said it was a ram. I’m an Aries, so that’s quite uncanny.)
5- I’d like to be able to become invisible. Hehe… mischief.
6- Feather. He is amazing.
If you had to choose between allowing someone you care about to be killed and saving the planet or allowing them to live and destroying the planet, which would you choose?
Do you watch Doctor Who? The Doctor sort of has to make that decision in the season 1 finale.
Anyway, I would allow them to be killed and save the planet.
Er, no I don’t watch Doctor Who. *has never heard of show before*
Saving the planet.
Well, if the planet was destroyed, I’d die too (along with EVERYONE I cared about), so I’d rather save the planet, sacrificing ONE person I care about.
I would be killed. If the earth is saved I don’t matter.
I care about myself- so I would be the one to die.
5) Being able to Apparate. That would save an incredible amount of time and money, plus one could sleep more before going to school.
1- Perhaps ironically, a pig. Rather laid back but actually quite intelligent.
5- If telepathy counts, that would definitely be it.
6- How can one choose? I think Crraw is underrated, so I’ll chose him. Her? En laid an egg once, I believe, in the 10th anniversary issue. All the Muses are a bit androgynous.
7- Well, destroying the planet would still result in the death of this person, so I’d say let the person be killed whilst saving the planet.
Tomatoes in clam chowder: yes or no?
Crraw didn’t lay an egg; he supplied one. There was no indication of where he got it. I’d say it’s well established by now that Crraw is male.
Touché.
(I asked Larry Gonick about Crraw’s egg when we were putting the issue together. He just chuckled the way he always does when you catch him messing with your mind and asked why I had assumed it was a crow egg.)
It is quite Gonick-esque. Thanks for clarifying, Monsieur Guest Editor.
5 – Oh, gosh how do I choose? Apparating would be pretty cool and convenient, as I’m not the biggest fan of long car rides, but they’re not described too highly in the books (Apparating is being able to go somewhere else in an instant and is used in the Harry Potter series.)
6 – Ack. No idea. Depends on the person.
1- I have no idea. I’ve been thinking about that for the past few days, and I’m no closer. Actually, I’ve been thinking about what my patronus would be. I guess there’s a difference.
5- Shapeshifting into anything that was, is, or could have been. If that makes sense. That way, I’d be able to shape shift into myself if I had a different power. I generally avoid being that in RPGs, since that would outshine nearly everything, etc. Failing that, though… I dunno.
6- Urania. Keep in mind I have never gotten an issue of Muse, so there is no basis for this claim.
7- That’s a tough one. I’ll think about it a while more.
Did you, or did you not, previously know that Kokopeli did not originate with Muse? I didn’t.
I did. When we went to South Dakota there were Kokopelli statues for sale there.
I discovered it during our trip to Wyoming this summer. No, they don’t have him in Wyoming, we drove there, through a bunch of places that did have him. I kept seeing figures that looked like Kokopeli, and saw the name several times, but I didn’t really figure it out until I saw them both together. It was interesting.
6- Bo hands down.
5- Invisibility.
6- Urania.
7- I would let them die, because then everyone else I cared about would be saved, and so would I.
11- I did.
11- I did.
5- Elemental powers. You know, like the Toa have, except I’d have ALL of them.
6- Feather.
1- I’m not exactly sure, actually. I’m not much of an animal person, considering I’ve only owned one pet in my whole life. (A fish, who died within days…) But if I had to choose, I guess I’d have to say a dog.
6- I love them all!!! How can I choose just one?!
7- Obviously that’s a tough one, but I’d have to say letting my friend die and saving the planet. I mean, I know it’s the un-courageous and selfish option, but on my defense, everyone else in the world would live, too. So I’d be saving many more lives than my own. If I chose Option B, however, basically I would be making my friend suffer alone without anyone else alive until he or she eventually died. Then again, if I saved myself and the world, I would have the grief and loss of losing my loved one. *Decides to stop rambling if anyone even read that whole thing…hee hee hee!*
11- I did.
15- I don’t see how saving the planet is selfish and un-courageous. It’s not selfish at all. Un-courageous? Maybe in the eyes of the friend… :/
But what friend worthy of the name would want to feel responsible for the deaths of billions of people? I think anyone who has a conscience would have a hard time living with that.
That’s true… That’s very true…
But facing imminent death, I think the person would be pardoned for feeling a little betrayed.
Kant says that it’s immoral to impose on a third party against their will to solve your own ethical problem. In addition it’s something of a slippery slope. If you’re willing to kill for the “greater good”, where does it end?
*coughDeathNotecough*
Does the end justify the means, I think, is the question?
If I was in that scenario, I would think ‘This is like one of those scenarios they set you up with to judge what you’re like and when I open my eyes I’ll be in bed.’
7- Save the world. Though I doubt that would ever happen. At least I hope not…
9- No, I guess. I don’t even know what’s in clam chowder normally, I just eat it.
11- I didn’t when I first got Muse, I learned quickly.
Rock, Rap, Country, or Classical?
Out of those? Rock. Classical comes next as a very close second. I can’t stand Country, and Rap is the worst.
Rock. Classical is OK, but I hate almost all country and rap music.
Classical.
All of those can be very good except country.
I like some kinds of rock, classical, and country – but only if it’s Taylor Swift, I have to admit. I like the lyrics.
I focus more on the lyrics of the song, which may explain why I don’t like rap. Or heavy-metal rock.
Rock. Although, like you, I also really only like Taylor Swift when it comes to country. That’s because country is pretty much the only genre of music that I listen to lyrics in, everything else I kind of just ignore them.
1- I dunno. Maybe a mouse, maybe a bird. I’d like to be a swallow.
5- Flight.
7- Saving the planet. That’s what I say now, anyway. In an actual situation, it might be different. -is also strongly reminded of Doctor Who-
9- Both?
19- Classical.
In some areas of the country, clam chowder has tomatoes in it.
That’s usually referred to as “Manhattan Clam Chowder.”
6- Probably Bo.
7- Saving the planet.
9- No.
19- Definitly rock!
7 & replies) What if you actually had to physically kill the person, not just let them die?
New question: What’s your favorite song to dance to? Mine would probably be “Candy Love” by September. My new music addiction.
22- I’d still save the planet. I just wouldn’t look at the person when I killed them.
“Dance, Dance” by Fall Out Boy. It has “dance” in the title… TWICE!!
What if they were begging you not to kill them, because they didn’t know that you were saving the planet?
It would depend how you were killing them.
Wouldn’t you poison them? That way, there is no blame. Of course, to do that, you need to bring out the inner murderer so not to get caught. This reminds me of a time where Daisy*Chain and I were discussing the perfect Grand Theft Auto. It didn’t seem that difficult actually…
Let’s assume that you had to kill them in some obscenely painful way.
*is scared* I’d rather not think about it. I seem to make up strange ultimatums like this in my mind; I don’t need to be discussing them here.
You could TELL them you were saving the planet.
You know, it’s very hard to imagine a plausible situation in which this particular choice would arise.
What if Daleks were taking over the world, and the only way to stop them was to suck them all into an interdimensional vortex-thingy, but your friend would get sucked in too?
We’ll have to ask Luna to bounce that one off her bioethics professor.
*cough*
I need to get more Doctor Who. Because Rose is coming back! Although she proceeds to go away again… Darn you, Billie Piper, why do you have to have better things to do?
True. Changing the subject, I think my computer’s messed up. It’s giving SudoRandom the same avatar as me…
Maybe you’re somehow using the same email address? I don’t see how that’s possible, but you do know him in person….
Are you using the same email adress?
And actually, I just download the image to iPhoto, and then select it for gravatar.
Bwahaha! Mostly Harmless strikes again! Next target: Silver Lining! (Be careful, Pseudo, that was almost a PoPo. You’re lucky I got here before a PoPoPo.)
Yes, it does seem rather easy to steal a car that has the window open and the keys inside, doesn’t it? But then there’s the small matter of not getting caught… And disposing of the rubber gloves and hairnets…
(As you can see, Fishy and I went into great detail when planning it… However, neither of us could drive so… )
I don’t dance much… h’m… *thinks*
7(Daisy*chain), 15(soccer star), 19(tgypwa), 20(Alice), 22(SudoRandom), 23(RoseQuartz), anyone else-That’ll be 10 kilos of choklit s each for just giving the comment numbers.
1(RoseQuartz)-A bird, a cat, or an .
5(Sequoia)-Spoilt for choice….
6(tgypwa)-Urania. (“In my spare time: I do math problems”)
11(Errata)-No.
17(Elias)-Everyone gets bunnified.
19(tgypwa)-Rock.
Who likes ABBA?
I’m sorry, but I don’t think that just giving comment numbers is a bad thing that deserves a fine. Sure, it might be a little lazy, but it’s not a crime to me!! I have a few reasons to support this, not listed in order of importance: (Yeah, I know. This is probably a stupid thing to make a fuss about, but I feel strongly that this doesn’t merit a fine, so without further ado…)
Many of us included enough clues in our answer so that you could tell which question it was referring to. (No, I’m not saying I did for every single question – but I did do it for some!!) Therefore, using context clues, it wasn’t terribly difficult to figure out which question I/we were referring to.
Also, it is highly suggested in the HG2MB, as well as from many people in MB (including myself) to read the first ten to twenty comments before you post – so if you had followed along with that, you would have known which questions referred to which answers. (Just another theory to support the idea that it’s not really that hard to figure out which answers matched up to which questions.)
Finally, what you did was hardly any better – you just wrote who gave the question, instead of the question itself. In my opinion, that’s not any easier to follow along with then simply writing the number itself, so I don’t find it fair that you are requesting a fine from us when you performed an action quite similar to ours.
Finally, (Yeah, this finally is for real – sorry about the previous one!!) people refer to comments by their number quite often, in fact, I think it would be extremely difficult to find a thread where someone hasn’t done something like it. Therefore, if you really want to fine people every time someone refers to a post by it’s number, you’ll probably find yourself doing it for the next one hundred years.
I’m sorry that I’m being so difficult, but like SudoRandom, I am also holding my fine until I receive a satisfactory answer. I understand that I could be wrong about this, as it’s completely possible that there is some rule about it that I’m not aware of, in which case I will hand over my fine.
25) (Fine, Insane MLDM) A)How does giving the persons name help? We still have to search for the comment anyway! Maybe if your comment specifically talks about the person who made the reference post, but otherwise, I don’t see the point.
And B) I think it was pretty clear from my post what I was referring to, as it was one of the main questions, and the only one that involved death. Maybe I’m wrong. *withholds fine until good answer is given*
25- Insane MLDM- I’m with SudoRandom on this one, but I’ll still fork over the choklit. *does so*
Why, thank you. 10 kilos of choklit s closer to taking over the world… (See my reply to Alice)
(1) Cats all the way
(5) I would like the power of teleporting
(6) PWT PWNS
(11) no
(19)Classical
What your favourite hobby?
25- I’m also with SudoRandom here. I don’t really see a point in giving the name for every comment, although sometimes it can be helpful. I’m not paying any fines.
Fines mean nothing to me. I disapprove of the PoPoPo and any other organization/person that takes it on itself/enself to judge which actions/styles of response are acceptable and which are not and demand virtual recompense.
So there.
So, by your explanation, you disapprove of the GAPAs. (Perhaps you’d like to rephrase?)
I, unlike you, completely support the PoPoPo (as has been shown on numerous occasions), though I do not approve of MLDM’s fines imposed upon those people who only wrote post numbers. I see no problem with only using post numbers. In many cases, it can actually prevent confusion, not cause it.
Well, I warned you all about my neurotic fining on the neophytes thread. And I suppose it wouldn’t really matter that much on this thread, but still… I suppose I am really fining the whole blog in choklit s because I intend to use them to take over the world. Wait… did I just tell you that? Does this mean everyone will keep their choklit s and take over the world with them themselves ?
30.1- The GAPAs don’t fine people. Also, the GAPAs are far more laid-back than a lot of MuseBloggers. Plus Robert created MuseBlog, so it’s only natural that we should abide by his rules.
What is the PoPoPo? And fines? And choklit? I’m confused…
See the Hitchhiker’s Guide to MuseBlog.
31- They don’t fine people, no, but I they don’t support pointless posting either. Perhaps you’ve forgotten Rule 6? “If a discussion is in progress, please don’t interrupt it with an unrelated random post. Before posting, read the last 10 or 15 comments to make sure that you understand what is going on.” So should we not follow that rule laid down by Robert? Naturally.
32- PoPoPo stands for Pointless Post Police, a MuseBlogger-run organization which watches for PoPos (Pointless Posts) and fines the perpetrator with virtual choklit, which it not to be confused with virtual chocolate. The PoPoPo used to be more widespread but fell out of use for a while, but it is now making a comeback.
The Administrators recognize, however, that to some extent “pointless” is in the eye of the beholder. Indeed, on some of the sillier parts of the blog, pointlessness is part of the point. And we certainly don’t want to make it impossible for anyone ever to introduce new topics.
We also think it’s a good idea to be patient with and merciful toward newcomers who parachute onto the blog jabbering away in chatspeak and such. They’ll soon adapt to the online culture that has evolved here; meanwhile, MBers are encouraged to refrain from jumping down their throats.
Thanks, everyone.
33- Oh, we should follow the rule, certainly. I just feel that if we don’t follow the rule, as sometimes happens, it’s rather unpleasant and against my morals for the PoPoPo to bear down on the offender and fine them chocolate. While it is certainly all right for a MuseBlogger to remind another MuseBlogger of a rule, enforcing the rule is a bit much. After all, who gave you the authority to do so?
Paraphrased from the words of small children, “the PoPoPo’s not the boss of me.”
I wholeheartedly agree in disapproving of the PoPoPo. Apart from the fact that it’s abbred, and as such it rubs me the wrong way in the first place, it’s sort of pointless itself… And the posts that the supposed members make are really quite pointless by themselves.
Reminding people of rules is fine (No pun intended.). Don’t take it upon yourself that you have authority, however. It’s quite likely that you don’t.
-A – wishing English had a translation for the word ‘on’
No one gave the PoPoPo the authority to do what they do. Thus the term “vigilante” used in the HG2MB. From Merriam-Webster Online: “Vigilante: a member of a volunteer committee organized to suppress and punish crime summarily (as when the processes of law are viewed as inadequate).”
Exactly. No one gave them authority. And from what I’ve seen, they certainly didn’t earn it. So in my eyes, it doesn’t exist.
-A
Frankly, to me, a bunch of what the PoPowhatever does seems to be pointless itself. One random post is much less distracting than a random post, a post minimodding the previous post, a post complaining about the PoPoPo, and a post whining about how no one respects their authority.
In other words, the Pox3 (which, by the way, is also a rather aggravating expression), seems to me to be mostly feeding the [usually unintentional] trolls.
30 & onward – perhaps this conversation should be moved to the Hot Topics thread…
I happen to support the PoPoPo, although I admit that they can me a bit harsh at times. Still, I think it’s good to have somebody repremanding ‘First Post’-ers.
They know what they’re doing is wrong. Their posts aren’t going to be removed, though. Why even comment on them?
-A
Some MBers, neophytes in particular, don’t know they’re doing anything wrong by posting a ‘first post’ post. If the PoPoPo descends on them with a ‘You are a stupid ‘phyte who is trying to corrupt MB hand over 100,000 pounds of choklit’ attitude, I agree that’s not fun and unfair. On the other hand, if they approach with a ‘excuse me, I know you’re new and may not have read the rules, on MB it’s customary not to post thirty comments in a row or a post which says nothing but ‘first post!’, therefore I’m going to ask you for 30 bars of virtual choklit only because you’re a newbie’ approach, it may help ‘phytes understand MB’s culture and be more accepted. Neohytes who never get told that PoPoing is frowned upon grow into extraordinarily annoying mesophytes, no names named.
Everyone who is here already knows it’s wrong, and while I don’t disagree with a tap on the shoulder for a first-time poster, they should have read the rules anyway, in which case they should know in the first place. The only reason I’ll make any allowance is because we all know that nobody really reads the rules (In general – for example, you’re supposed to always read the terms and conditions of web pages, and the manual of microwaves and cars and such, et cetera, and as a rule of thumb, rarely does anyone ever do so.), but even if you are going to remind them – honestly, ‘fining’ them for a virtual object? I’ve been here for more than three years now and I’m still not sure what ‘choklit’ even is, even if I could spell it correctly! I refuse to ever pay any sort of ‘fine’, I will encourage others to do this as well, and I immediately look down on anybody who attempts to fine me or others, especially for a virtual object, especially for a misspelled one. It’s immature, it does nothing for the good of the blog, and it only causes harm for everybody in exchange for a temporary feeling of pompousness for the people doing the fining, who have taken a power upon themselves that they do not deserve yet. I’m sick and tired of people thinking they’re above others.
Sorry. Ranting mood today, apparently.
-A
[Profanity snipped. Though I do sympathize with your impulse to rant — Rosanne]
Whoa. *backpedals* You seem to really feel very strongly about this. I’m going to just keep my opinions about this to myself from now on, I think. I refuse to engage in any debate with anyone which is likely to drive a wedge between our friendship. Goodbye, argument.
37- It seems that, in your eyes, half of the problem lies with the people who oppose the Pointless Post Police. Why would you submit a post complaining that the PoPoPo is pointless when you yourself also believe the post you just posted is also pointless? Yeah, okay, that was hard to follow. Sorry.
38.1.1- I would be shocked and appalled to see anyone, PoPoPo or not, call another MBer stupid.
If I may quote myself from, er, elsewhere:
“I understand. I’m not trying to be mean or sound unreasonable or anything. It’s just that, given the choice between sounding mean and sounding like a push-over, I’d rather be on the “mean†side. It’s just my nature. I’d like to be nicer, but when something really ticks me off, that is impossible for me.”
“I’m not saying MB should become like Filboid Studge or anything. Zaniness is fun. Some of the funniest things I know have come from MuseBlog. Perhaps the most endearing thing about MuseBlog to me is the sometimes subtle and sometimes ridiculous sense of humor put there by the posters and the GAPAs. But in recent months, it has been entirely zaniness, and it’s become very tiring, in my opinion. Is my opinion necessarily right? Of course not. Everyone has the right, nay, the duty to have his or her own opinion. I’m just voicing mine.”
“I see the PoPoPo as sort of a combination of a serious matter (preventing mindless jabbering) with a lighthearted matter (what’s the point of fining someone something that doesn’t exist?).”
39- I don’t oppose them on the grounds that they’re pointless. I don’t care in the slightest if people post pointlessly. Sure, it’s kind of annoying, but whatever, right? They’ll learn. Everyone else did.
Re: quotes:
1. You can do that without taking authority upon yourself. Just tell the neophytes. Don’t tell them in the name of the PoPoPo and demand virtual fines.
2. I don’t feel that MuseBlog is any zanier than usual. Maybe less so. But like you said, that’s just opinion. I hang out almost solely on the paleo threads, so I guess my perspective is kind of warped.
3. My argument still stands.
I feel this calls for a pie war.
Please, guys??? Can we bring this to the Hot Topics thread instead of the Polling Place please? I apologize if I helped “spark” the conversation, but I think that if this should be continued, it should be continued elsewhere.
It’s hardly a hot topic… Besides, if it was taken to a different thread, it would just die.
Hey! We got a new thread!
1. Find the book nearest you.
2. Open it to page 56.
3. Find the fifth sentence on page 56.
4. Post it here.
Mine: “In contrast, the northern (warmer) part of New Zealand, by far the largest island group in Polynesia, was suitable for Polynesian agriculture.”
“‘I’m your girl,’ said Tricia, thinking that at the very least she could sell it to the National Inquirer.
Who knows what book that’s from?
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy! It’s form the last one, I think… I can’t remember what that one’s called.
Filial refers to sons or daughters.
“You’re going to love the white water.”
“Uncle Vernon looked as though he had something stuck in his throat, Aunt Petunia, however, was oddly flushed.”
-Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
That’s interesting- we were reading the same book.
Yes – I noticed that after I posted my comment!! Actually, I wasn’t reading the book, it was just the closest one to me. Although I have read it before.
I have two books right next to me.
“Organic matter is broken down as it passes through the digestive tracts of the worms and the soil is enriched by their excretory products.” –Silent Spring
“But the owl lay motionless and pathetic as a toy on the floor of her cage.” –Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Wow, cheery, aren’t they?
“‘I want to borrow one of your puppies.'”
“Uncle Vernon looked as though he had something stuck in his throat; Aunt Petunia, however, was oddly flushed.”
– Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
42- People do that on Facebook a lot…
Anyway:
“Dets bredde er kajakkens omkreds ved tvaersnittet i midten.”
Really? I spotted it on another forum and thought it would be interesting here, given Musers’ reading material.
43- That struck me as rather funny.
The nearest book to me is on a bookshelf filled with books nearest me. Actually, two bookshelves nearest me. I’ll choose a random book. “Angle D is a complement of angle C.” (It’s an old geometry textbook. By “old” I mean 1974.)
42- The integration of resumers into the community is just one aspect of Mills’ openness and tolerance of difference.
…Bah college books. The nearest 3 are just like it.
“It’s ten o’clock at night!”
-Dreams from my father (Obama’s book)
If you could either kill yourself and fifty other people or everyone else in your family, which would you choose?
42 – “Just hanging there in space?” he asks.
-from A Mango-Shaped Space. I love that book.
42)
“There was a steel headpiece, a cuirass, a gorget, and greaves, with a pair of gauntlets and a sword hanging beneath; all, and especially the helmet and breastplate, so highly burnished as to glow with white radiance and scatter an illumination everywhere about upon the floor.”
42 – H2G2. This sentence is particularly fantastic:
“The highest prime number coalesced quietly in a corner and hid itself away for ever.”
Amazingness.
“Even worse than when I got shot with that poisoned arrow on my wedding day.”
All these sentences seem strange when they’re isolated from their context like this. It’s interesting.
Yeah, that’s the point, isn’t it?
Good point.
Another book is closer to me now, so I think I’ll do The Shakespeare Stealer –
He looked ruefully at the muddy sword.
Is it the fifth paragraph? Or the fifth sentence?
Fifth sentence.
I love The Shakespeare Stealer, it’s one of my favorite books EVER

Which is better? Alpacas or Llamas?
If you had to shovel up a dead animal, which one would you choose?
A cat
A dog
A duck
ET
a squished frog
A frog- smaller, less to shovel.
ET.
But of course he’s not dead, he’s just making a phone call!
“You are making a long-distance call. Please enter coma mode.”
Tee hee!
Llamas, of course!
A squished frog.
Llamas and a squished Chihuahua.
56(kiwimuncher)- I like Alpacas better. I don’t know why you would care which type of dead animal you had to shovel up, or why you would be doing it.
57)
I think I like llamas, though alpacas are nice. I would shouvel up a cat. It’s not actually that bad. *recalls having to do it the other day*
56- I like Llamas and Alpacas equally. Llamas are super cute (especially when they are babies), but Alpacas make really soft yarn.
56- Yuch! I wouldn’t shovel up any of those! I would just go and find someone else and make them do it.
56- Alpaca. Frog (if its squished, you can just peel it off the ground and throw it in the trash).
Which language would you rather learn?
Bush Man
Welsh
Bashkir
Valencian
Old English
olde English, methinks, woulde be rather interesting.
Certainly Old English.
(61.1) What bubbles was writing, however, is considered modern English, Elizabethan variety.
whoops. Enlighten me, what exactly is considered old English?
See https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1445#comment-231805 .
61- WELSH.
57- Llama and a frog. No idea why.
61- Old English, just to prove how different it is from American English.
61(kiwimuncher) Bushman, because there are probably practically no people in the US who speak it.
I’ve got a new one:
Guitar Hero or Rock Band? For me, it’s Guitar Hero World TOur, hands down.
Guitar Hero.
Rock Band, only because I’m both a singer and guitarist in real life and that way I can do both if I want.
You can do both in World Tour, too!
For me, it’s Guitar Hero all the way, even though I don’t have the game. I finished Guitar Hero 3 (my neighbor’s game; we take turns on one guitar) on medium last summer and I’m working on hard this summer.
They don’t have flutes in Rock Band or Guitar Hero? What a shame.
I’ve only played Guitar Hero, and was really, really, bad at it. I was only good at the slow songs. Plus I didn’t realize for half of it that I was only supposed to strum when a note came up.
Oh yes, I was horrible at Guitar Hero too, but it was amazingly fun even though I sucked at it…
What’s the difference?
Rock Band has always had a full band (guitar, drums, voice, bass). Guitar Hero has been around longer and used to only have guitar. Now, with World Tour, the rest of the instruments have been added.
Guitar Hero. I’ve got World Tour, but only one guitar, which kinda eliminates the point…
I have Guitar Hero World Tour, and it’s pretty much the only one I’ve played, so I don’t know the difference. I like it though
I would learn Bushman, because it sounds so cool with all the popping noises and the clicks!
65) I’ve never played either. I guess I’m just not a video game person.
I’m posting this down here…

New Question!
Which type of beach do you prefer?
Rocky
Sandy
Sheer Cliff
Sandy. Rocky hurts, and a sheer cliff isn’t even a beach.
Hmmm…
I’d say Sheer Cliff if I had to pick just one, but a combination of Sandy and Sheer Cliff is definitely my favorite.
Picture it: an amazing, perfect sandy beach in a small natural bay, with a tiny waterfall that has just enough water to create a smooth, arching spout, created by a creek. But nobody can tread on its pristine beauty without risking their lives on the treacherous 60-foot cliffs that line it.
This is a real place in California and it’s one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen in my life…
Now I sound kind of dumb. But it is a real place. Not very many people can get past the natural defenses, and now nobody can go down there without trespassing on someone’s property. It’s all good, but I wish I could go and enjoy it.
That sounds really pretty! I’ve only known sandy beaches, but I’ve seen pictures of rocky ones, with little tidal pools everywhere, and I’ve been to a sheer cliff one in Canada, which was awesome because it had puffins.
Sandy, probabaly.
Sandy, unless I’m wearing sandals. In that case, rocky is good.
Sandy. But I like to look at sheer cliffs.
68.3) I lurve your picture! The kitty’s so cute!
New Question!
How many musers does it take to make a strawberry muffin?

A. 1 — Paul Baker, to install Wungs at the H&H so we can order muffins at our leisure.
I’m with Piggy on this one!
Hee hee! You have a good point there!
42, of course!
Thanks, kiwimuncher. I should check random posts more often.
Question (or multiple questions, depending on how you look at it):
Harry/Ginny or Neville/Ginny
Harry/Ginny or Harry/Cho
Tails/Cosmo or Tails/Cream
Sonic/Amy or Shadow/Amy
Shadow/Rouge or Knuckles/Rouge
(I know I’m a nerd )
Harry/Ginny
Tails/Cream (Tails is my favorite Sonic character, by the way)
Sonic/Amy
Knuckles/Rouge
Harry/Ginny–Neville’s just not right for her…..
Harry/Ginny again, obviously. Cho is a shallow, stupid, little *beep* who was throwing herself at Harry just months after her boyfriend died. I mean, seriously
The others I’ve never heard of, so…..
OK, I think I know what the answer will be to this. At least I hope I do, because if it’s what i think it’s not I might go insane. If you understood any of that.
Harry Potter or Twilight?
Harry Potter hands down.
Twilight is nothing compared to the majesty of Harry Potter! (of course, if you happen to like the “other series” That’s fine with me. I just don’t like it much myself)
Who likes Percy Jackson & The Olympians?
And, is anyone even remotely in the vicinity of the Museum of Science and Industry, and if so, did you see the Harry Potter exhibit? Sooo cool!
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I’m obsessed.
Yay! My Latin teacher likes it too, because mythology is part of our curriculum.
HP all the way. You can’t even compare the two.
I like PJO, but my sister is obsessed. Did you know the movie comes out next year? I wouldn’t know (and probably even wouldn’t care, since movies generally aren’t too nice to books) if it wasn’t for her.
I know that. I keep up with anything and everything regarding my favorite books, disgraceful to the series as it may possibly be.
Harry Potter. Reading Twilight must have been one of the least productive things I have ever done.
Harry Potter.
Twilight was one of the worst things I’ve ever read.
(Don’t tell my friends, otherwise I’ll die a slow and painful death…)
Harry Potter, no question about it.
I don’t really like either (*ducks pies*), but if I had to choose between the two, definitely HP.
1- I’d probably be a wolf. Not nice to cross but still a pack animal.
5- I’d like to be able to stop time. Or telekinesis. Omnilinguality is nice, but it wouldn’t help if the bad guys start running at you with a big gun/sword/weapon.
6- Kokopelli and Crraw! (it used to be Urania).
7-I’d let them be killed, because we’d probably all die anyway when the planet is destroyed.
9-*has never eaten clam chowder*
11- I did. *found a book about the other Kokopelli in a library*
17- Good question.
19-Rock or Rap. I like a grand total of two classical pieces and when I get to hell, someone there will be playing loud country *shudders*
22- I would. Anyway, even if they were begging me.
23-Anything that has a good beat. (And is very loud)
25- What’s this rubbish about putting names by your replies? In my whole MBing time, I can only count very few times that it has been done. The PoPoPo fines when there are pointless comments. I usually assume that people are smart enough to read the name in bold under the comment number, but if anyone feels this would be to difficult for them, I’ll give in and write the names. Maybe. Besides, who gave you the PoPoPo authority to fine for that cause?
*agrees with soccer star*
*refuses to give chocolate*
28-Reading!
PoPoPo)
I support them, as long as they only fine for pointless posts, and only fine MBers who have been here for at least 10 days. If someone* runs around posting “!!!! I like cake!” on every thread, topic unrelated, I do think that a little reprimand is in order. I had quite a lot of, well, interesting posts in my neophyte era, and it took me 3 whole months to figure out what was so bad about most of them. I believe that most MBers are mature enough to phrase themselves accurately, PoPoPo member included. If I wasn’t a PoPoPo member, then I wouldn’t answer the “!!!! I like cake!” posts, leaving the author sitting in the dark wondering why no-one is talking to en.
And what about us? Seeing people randomly post nonsense on your favorite threads is at first a little aggravating. But over the days, weeks, months, all the anger about those little nonsense posts builds up until you start seeing red at every “!!!! I like cake!” post and snap at the unfortunate next PoPoer. Instead of letting it all build up until you feel turn into a grumpy old ‘paleo you can tell them politely. I doubt that anyone PoPos on purpose- when you let people know that it makes you mad when they post like that, they’ll stop. If someone can’t take a gentle reprimand, then that’s their problem.
42- 56 is blank, so I’ll post 57:
Il tempo passava lasciando poche tracce sul signor Baggins: a novant’ anni era tale e quale era stato a cinquanta; a novantanove incominciarono a dire che si manteneva bene: sarebbe stato più esatto dire che era immutato.
5 tonna di chocolati virtuelo pur whoever guesses what this is all about (hint: I had to count the pages from the prologue).
56- Alpacas and a squished cat.
61- Welsh
65- *doesn’t know either*
68- Sand!!!
69-
70- Harry/Ginny and Neville/Cho XD
71- Harry Potter. Don’t mention that horrible other series!
*I don’t want to point a finger or accuse anyone
The Hobbit in Italian? Nice!
70) Harry/Ginny and I don’t know who the other people are…
71) Harry Potter!
Oh thank god people are saying Harry Potter. I was worried about the future of literature, with people buying “that horrible other series”.
You don’t know what it’s like when your best friend has read Harry Potter and that ghastly “other series” and is obsessed with the “other series!”
I know, I know, most of you would probably tell me to give my friend a good but she’s really great other than that flaw.
So, I pose this question to you:
If you were in the same situation as me, would you
A. right in their face
B. Live with it.
Live with it. Twilight really isn’t THAT bad.
I know, I know, but when she acts like there is nothing else and it is her ideal of earthly bliss to meet the author or something like that, it just takes all of my willpower not to or something like that. I live with it and sometimes wish I had a good blackberry pie on hand, those are tragically messy for people with light coloring, as my friend does.
I am in the same situation as you only worse…
Said friend does NOT LIKE Harry Potter at all! And LOVES the dread “other series”!
True, she’s not my best friend, and true, she has many other annoying traits (such as complaining about herself all the time, repeatedly telling stories that got old last year, and doing various PDAs with her weird boyfriend), but it’s sort of the same.
Though my friend would probably think it was a joke.
Actually, I am in the same situation as you! I will not pie the friend, since she is actually a fairly kind and intelligent person. Nor will I go with it. Rather, I will debate it with her and hope she see’s sense someday.
Coffee, Tea, of Hot Chocolate?
Hmmm. I like all three, though not at the same time.
Hot chocolate or tea, if it’s chai. Can’t stand coffee.
Hot chocolate, of course.
68-Sandy, definitely. Rocky hurts, and sheer cliff? Seriously not.
69-Um, 56 I guess?!?!
70-Ginny and Harry all the way!!! I don’t know what the other ones are referring to, so I won’t answer them.
71.2.2-I’m definitely like your sister, I am completely and utterly obsessed with Percy Jackson, and I think I’m driving myself insane!! I NEED to stop thinking about it, but I can’t!! See what I mean? Obsession.
74.1-I’m in the same situation, actually, and I do live with it, but that doesn’t mean I don’t grit my teeth every once in a while when ‘it’s’ mentioned or sit on my fingers to resist the urge to smack her. Yup, I’m a great friend.
75-Hot chocolate, duh!!
I think I pretty much covered all the questions that I haven’t answered yet, but I apologize if I missed a few in my state of craziness.
‘Kiss me through the phone’ or ‘somebody call 911’.
Hot chocolate for me.
In the book you are reading right now, what is the 4th sentence on page 100?
“We then seek some proper place for devotion, place our slippers on some other object in front of us to warn the lounger, and perform a two-bow prayer in honor of the Mosque.”
“Open the file Aviatrix_flat.tif from the “Homework” folder on the CD-ROM.”
“To the finest man and the finest woman it has been my good fortune to know.”
“Now you’ve got a chance to try it out.”
“In a parrallel development, Jack learns that the Adversary is not the Fables’ only enemy, and that Fables are sometimes given, in the person of Revise, a nefariously effective hand on the road to oblivion.”

“Don’t panic!”
Whoah. You’re reading that many books?! O.O
Yup. A day earlier and there would have been one more on the list. That’s how I usually read, 5 to 12 books at a time, especially when I’m on the hunt — that is, on the trail of whatever obsession is in ascendancy (in this case, comics and graphic novels and the techniques involved in their production).
You obsess over stuff too???
Oh wait, I should have known. *smacks self in head* I’m Lasley House at MA, so of course.
My current obsession is similar to yours, Lady B–manga and anime, all summer. Usually I get a larger obsession and then get addicted to specific things (*coughSailorMoonthenFruitsBasketthenDeathNotecough*).
“Those two islands are remarkably similar in size, location, physical features, and climate.”
“I think `gentleman cat’ would be more polite,” persisted Dora.
Oh! Oh! I know that quote! I just don’t remember where it’s from!
“The pattern of misses looks best drawn in a neat row.”
79- “It was Osborn himself who came through the entry port, scarlet with rage and offended dignity.”
“There was no time for deliberation.”

What do you think is your most embarrassing post?
“telekinesis? That’s a stage in mitosis and meiosis. Does that mean you can clone yourself at will?”
(telekinesis is NOT a stage in mitosis or meiosis, which are varieties of cell division if you have yet to learn about them)
CYTOkinesis is a stage in cell division, you were probably thinking of that.
As is TELOphase.
Dude. I’m studing that in my anatomy class right now. Ug. Endocytosis is so much cooler.
I was, indeed. I almost fell down the stairs when I realized my mistake.
Or you might have been thinking of TELophase. Perhaps you combined the two?
I don’t know specifically what posts were most embarrassing, and I don’t particularly care to sort through all 11,000-plus posts that I’ve made in the past two years, but I remember being horribly and continually mortified on some old thread–Muse Encylopedia, it was called.
Most embarrassing post… *thinks very hard*
It was most likely my first post on the SeaRoc RRR. I thought it was a thread with ships that were battling each other. I was very silly.
*finds post* *posts post*
“What’s going on? Are we capturing a ship or something! AWESOME! Wait, a WARSHIP! Even MORE awesome! How shall we achieve this feat? Cabbage guns?”
I laugh at myself.
84- I remember that! -rereads thread- , Meow and I were so desperate.
Me: So you can control someone with Jarbun magic but not really but you can use them as a VESSEL for powers they don’t have like the fire power that was purple because I don’t like that so he doesn’t really have it and Mordran couldn’t have done it himself but Ren had the potential he just couldn’t know how to do it so Mordran did it through him how’s that
You: I’m confused…
Meow and Me: DON’T LEAVE KIWI!!!!!!
You: … I wasn’t going to…
Yes. I remember that. I was so confused that I just had to figure out what was going on.
My most embarrassing post is a three-way tie:
1. When I didn’t know who J. R. R. Tolkien was.
2. When I asked if anyone had read H2G2.
3. When I was confused about somebody’s gender after she mentioned having a girlfriend. (I forget who it was.)
Oh, also when I was a neophyte and completely obsessed with Warriors. I talked about Warriors in practically every post, regardless of thread.
It’s true: you mentioned Warriors three times in your very first post.
Most embarrassing post – umm… I dunno.
Beatles time!
What was the first Beatles song you ever heard? (I am the Walrus)
What are your top five Beatles songs? (Hello Goodbye, Back in the USSR, Here comes the Sun, I Saw Her Standing There, and I am the Walrus)
What’s your least favorite Beatles song? (Helter Skelter)
Who is your favorite Beatle? (JOHN LENNON FOR THE WIN! )
#1– Either Love Me Do or Drive My Car. When i was little, the only CDs we had were Rubber Soul and One, but I can’t remember which Cd I listened to first.
#2– (Geez, only five?!) Dear Prudence, Ticket to Ride, Tomorrow Never Knows, Fool on the Hill/Flying (they’re tied), Back in the USSR
#3– Why Don’t We Do It in the Road (I have the CD that has Helter Skelter on it, but I’m too afraid to listen to it.)
#4–RINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Random thought: I wish this thread got more traffic.
And Here Comes the Sun, naturally. (Sorry, George, for forgetting you the first time round!!!!)
1) Yellow Submarine
2) Here Comes the Sun, Maxwell’s Silver HAmmer, With a Little Help From MY friends, Yellow Submarine, Octopus’ Garden)
3) Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds (I’ve heard that song so much that I despise it)
4) John Lennon of course.
Oh, I like YEsterday and Come Together too. How can I choose only 5 songs?!
I meant your 5 FAVORITE beatles songs.
Let me guess-you like Abbey Road.
heh heh. Yes I do.
first Beatles song- Yellow Submarine
top five-Across the Universe, For No One, I am the Walrus, She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, and Come Together.
least favorite-Love Me Do
favorite Beatle-George Harrison
By the way, we really need a whole thread for the Beatles.
Sorry, we don’t create threads for individual music groups.
But it’s the Beatles!
I could just as well ask for a Coldplay thread, and when a GAPA said “no” I could say “But it’s Coldplay!”
The Beatles are different, though. Without them, modern rock as we know it wouldn’t exist today.
Same could be said for the Rolling Stones, The Who, Little Richard, Chuck Barry, Big Joe Turner, Velvet Underground, The Yardbirds…this list could go on and on.
Good point.
We could have a thread about pioneering rock groups, then. That might be interesting…
1: Probably either “Help!” or “Hard Day’s Night” or “Hello Goodbye” or anything else on 1.
2. Blackbird, Mother Nature’s Son, Octopus’ Garden, No Reply, I’m Only Sleeping.
3. Rocky Raccoon, I think it is.
4. Ah! Hard decision! John is amazingly cool and a brilliant songwriter and everything, but reeally arrogant and pretty stubborn about Yoko. Paul is the cute one, but really nice (and besides, now that he’s old he’s not quite so cute). George is a bit too New-Agey for me, and he used to have those eyebrows, and then those glasses and that beard, which were just weird. Ringo is freaking amazing, but stoned quite a lot. I’d have to go with the songwriting team of John’n’Paul, because they were BRILLIANT.
On the topic of the Beatles, the other day my friend and I combined our two great passions (Beatles and Harry Potter) to equate each of the Beatles with the Marauders. John was James, of course. I think Paul was Lupin. George was… Pettigrew… which means that Ringo was Sirius.
Thoughts?
I think Ringo & George need to be switched there…..
Hee hee… I like what you said about Paul being old and not cute anymore (my friends thought that was hysterical. One of them laughed for, like, five minutes straight.). I certainly agree with what you said about them.
1: Yellow Submarine, I think.
2: (Not in order) All The Lonely People, A Day In The Life, Can’t Buy Me Love, Back In The USSSR, Help
3: (I like all of them, but this one’s at the end of the Playlist on my iPod) The Long and Winding Road
4: Ringo!!!
Favorite Beatles song? Hmmm…I have a lot. I’m just going to go straight to Question #2 here.
2 – I like Revolution, Back in the USSR, and ummm…I’m not sure. Jeez obviously I haven’t listened to the Beatles in a while!!
3 – I like most of them so it’s hard to choose. I guess I don’t really like We all Live in the Yellow Submarine…is that the actual name of the song or just the chorus line? I can’t remember.
4-I like John Lennon, but all of them are good!!
Oh yeah, I like Penny Lane too. It probably wouldn’t be in my top five, but it would definitely be pretty far up there.
1) Probabaly Penny Lane
2) Come Together, Nowhere Man, Everybody’s Got SomethingTo Hide Except For me and My Monkey, Oh! Darling, a let’s just throw in a George/sitar one…. Love Me Do
3) Ugh- any Ringo song, definetly. He was an excellent drummer, but as a singer…..
4) John Lennon, of course, and then George is of course one of my favorites because I play the guitar.
First song… I’m not sure. My Mom grew up in the sixties and she’s always playing beatles C.D.s.
Top five: In my life, All my Lovin’, Here comes the sun,
Help, CAn’t but me love.
Least favorite: Eleanor Rigby. I will have to reveal my real name here. See, my name is Eleanor and whenever i introduce myself to people, I hear, “Oh, like Eleanor Rigby!” It drives me nuts.
Favorite beatle: Paul or Ringo…
I met a boy, my age, this summer, named John Lennon, I kid you not. That is, indeed, quite a lot of commas.
Woah.
This has got to be my most embarrassing post ever, my second post on the blog:
Oh no! I’m buried under 10 million google miles of pie! Welcome, all neophytes(including me)! Thank you, GAPAs, for making this a safe and secure site (except from stray pies). This is my 1st ever blogposting ever! Rock on, [City name snipped per The Rules]] NH!
Ugh. I broke the rules on my second post.
Beatles questions from Post 87:
1) Yellow Submarine. (My mom played it for me when I was a baby)
2) Across the Universe, Imagine, Can’t Buy Me Love, Let it Be and All the Lonely People.
3) Penny Lane.
4) Oooh, hard one. Probably John Lennon.
You don’t like Penny Lane? I actually like that one, but I recently heard a remake of it that was really good. (It was a version my school chorus did a while ago, and it was really good!) It made the song much better than the original in my opinion.
Let it be? That song is so pretty! *adds to lsit of favortie bEatles songs*
Oh yeah! I completely forgot about that one!! *adds it to the list of fav Beatles songs*
Eleanor Rigby, not All the Lonely People. Sorry, just had to point that out…I love that song though!!!! *adds to list of favorite Beatles songs*
87-
1) I don’t know for sure, but I imagine it was Yellow Submarine because I remember singing it when i was like three or four and wondering how you knew when to stop.
2) Mm… Uh… I don’t know! Strawberry Fields, Eleanor Rigby, I don’t know. Lots of things.
3) Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. It doesn’t even seem like a full song, more like an intro, but it ALWAYS turns up near the top when I hit shuffle. Second-least-favorite: Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds. It’s everywhere.
4) Can’t tell them apart.
It’s pretty easy to tell them apart – John has the darkest hair, and later on he has long hair and round glasses. George in the earlier songs had odd eyebrows, and later on he had a beard. Paul is debatabely the cutest, and Ringo looks dumb and slightly clownish.
wait a sec, George got a beard? I thought that was paul, and George got a mustache or something of the like.
Ringo doesn’t look dumb, just kind of odd. His nose is rather large, I must agree. But not dumb! And yes, George had a beard. On (In?) Abbey Road.
Eh, I suppose your right. I just don’t like Ringo that much.
Let’s see then….. Which book do you prefer in each set?
Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings
Percy Jackson and the Olympians or Twilight
The Golden Compass or Narnia
Discworld or Wicked
Harry Potter hands down.
I haven’t read Percy Jackson or Twilight, but I really don’t think there’s much that can lose to Twilight.
Golden Compass, but kind of sort of close.
Don’t know – haven’t read them.
Harry Potter (although LOTR was enjoyable)
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, although I’ve never read it and know nothing about it.
Too different to choose. They’re just a totally different level. They were both good, in their own way.
Not read either, I don’t believe.
You should definitely read it. READ IT RIGHT NOW!!
LOTR, Percy Jackson, Narnia, Discworld.
LOTR
Haven’t read either
The Golden Compass!!!
Discworld (though I haven’t read Wicked)
Harry Potter
Percy Jackson (anything would beat Twilight)
I found Golden Compass slightly creepy…but I can’t say Narnia is my favorite book either. Don’t know.
Discworld, definitely.
LOTR
Twilight (don’t know the other one)
Golden COmpass, Narnia is nice too; it’s just a little too easy for me now.
Discworld. You mean WIcked the musical?
Harry Potter.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians – HOW CAN THEY EVEN BE COMPARED?!?!?!?!
Narnia, I think.
Never read either of those.
1) Uhh, When I’m Sixty-Four, I think….
2) Jeez, I have to pick five? I can’t do it! *brain implodes*
3) Ticket To Ride is EVERYWHERE…
4) Uhh, hmm. Paul, I guess.
PAUL?? Sorry. I’m kind of mad at Paul (and Ringo/various other people?) for licensing The Beatles to Rock Band.
I want to play The Beatles Rock Band! It sounds awesome! *does not have any kind of platform for this so will probably never do so*
The Beatles Rock Band looks awesome! And just because they are making a Beatles game in the Rock Band franchise does not mean they are licensing the band and everything to Rock Band.
Oh, have you seen the commercial for Beatles Rockband?! I LOVE it! It’s really cool and well-done. Except it’s a bit disturbing, considering it’s all digital. And two of them are not alive.
64! That’s such a nice and short song!
When I am older and loosing my hair many years from now, will you still be sending me a Valentine, birthday greeting, bottle of wine?… Will you still need me? Will you still feed me when I’m 64?
91-
Harry Potter
Percy Jackson
Narnia
Wicked
Which gender do you think I am – boy, girl, or other?
Boy. How could you be “other”?
Transgender, genderneutral, etc, etc. ON almost all the surveys at school here, they ask male, female, other. Occasionally expanding “other” to broader categories.
I was thinking more along the lines of aliens, or hamsters
Wait, no… that’s not what I meant… in this comic I saw, next to the ordinary restrooms (labeled Men and Women), there was a door labeled “Cartoonist.” That’s more along the lines of what I was thinking.
This conversation lost me…….
Ignore what I just said, it’s not important. The important thing is, don’t guess that my gender is “other” seriously, because I threw that out as a joke and I’d be worried about you.
Boy of course. Doesn’t your name say “man”?
so?
Wait, what, you? You are male…..aren’t you?
Maybe… maybe not.
Choose a favorite book/movie/TV show.
1. What character are you most like from that?
2. What character do you want to be most like?
3. What character are your two closest friends like?
4. (Book/Movie ONLY) Do any of your characters die at the end?
If no, Yay
If so,
I chose Star Trek: The Next Generation
1. Data
2. Riker
3. Riker, Barclay
Oh, jeez. One of your friends is a Barclay? Poor you.
Ehm…. *does NOT choose Death Note* *thankyouverymuch*
Sailor Moon!
1. Minako/Sailor Venus
2. Rei-chan! (Sailor Mars)
3. Ehh, hmm. I guess Mako-chan/Sailor Jupiter and… Minako. Hehe. Actually, Minako applies to two of my closest friends… oh, actually, same with Makoto. Huh.
I’m doing it multiple times.
Harry Potter 5 (book)
1. What character are you most like from that?
Luna Lovegood
2. What character do you want to be most like?
Ginny Weasely
3. What character are your two closest friends like?
I’m supposed to have off-line friends?
4. (Book/Movie ONLY) Do any of your characters die at the end?
No. You know HP, nobody dies except in book 7.
It’s been a while since I watched SM, but I still know the characters and whatnot, just not the villains…
1. What character are you most like from that?
Rei Hino. (more like Raye, though, her personality changed in the dub-I’m like both, however)
2. What character do you want to be most like?
Minako
3. What character are your two closest friends like?
I don’t have offline friends.
4. (Book/Movie ONLY) Do any of your characters die at the end?
Ummm…don’t remember
Heh. My “two closest friends” were actually Musers… yeah. Heh.
Er, beg pardon? Somebody dies in every book except for #2 and #3. Here’s a refresher, below the spoiler warning, in case there is actually somebody out there who hasn’t read ’em an doesnt’ know, and yet still doesn’t want it spoiled…..
HP ENTIRE SERIES SPOILER WARNING HP DEATHS SPOILER…..
1. Quirrell
2. No one, except the basilisk and a Horcrux.
3. No one, at least not that I recall…..So, no one.
4. Cedric Diggory
5. Sirius Black
6. albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore
7. Well, go see one of the various HP threads, perhpas trivia, if you want a full detailed list, I don’t have the energy to type up every single one right this moment.
Buckbeak dies…
But I guess that doesn’t count.
And of course, depending on your point of view, he might not count as dying…
Yup, he’s an pretty much a Barclay, with less social situation paranoia.
Becaue of my pseudonym, it seems fitting to choose HP.
1. A rather odd mixture between Luna Lovegood, Hermione, & Cho Chang before she had that weird crying obbsesion.
2. I dunno. All Luna, I guess. *shrug*
3. Hard one…. One is Cho, and the other is probabaly a bit like Ron.
4. Yup. A ton. To name but one, Dumbledore. *burst out fake crying*
Favorite book….Well, HP is the only book(s) I’ve become obsessed with, although at the same time I’m not quite sure I could actually call it my favorite, because there are so many other series I really, really, love. But as my only obsession forming book, alright, I choose HP.
1. To be honest, probably Hermione. Her freak out attack while waiting for the OWL results to arrive in HBP was so much like what I’ve done numerous times throughout my college career, it almost wasn’t even funny.
2. Luna, that would be cool.
3. Don’t have any, so……Can’t answer.
4. Er, no, they don’t.
MY favorite movie is the Lion King.
1) Rafiki. That baboon cracks me up.
2) Scar of course! Just kidding. Probubly Rakfiki too, because he’s not only smart, but also funny.
3) Simba. They’re obnoxious. Kind of like me too, though not as much.
4) In the middle. Does that count? I cry every single time that Mufasa dies.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians!!!! Here it goes:
1. Hmm…one of the things about Percy Jackson that I love is that I am not like any of the characters, I just wish I could be like them! I guess if I had to choose I’d be a weird mix of Annabeth and Thalia, but very unlike them individually. I mean, I don’t have a punk style at all like Thalia, but I kind of have her personality in real life, just a little toned down. I’m more like Annabeth overall than Thalia but I don’t have her bravery and courage. I wish I did though…oops I think that’s the next question.
2. Annabeth, probably.
3. Umm…two closest friends? How about one? This is kind of a hard question, because very few of my friends are anything like characters in the series. I guess I do have one friend who’s kind of like Calypso, though. She’s even “cursed” by the “Fates” (Aka her parents.) who don’t let her date.
4. Yeah, a few but I don’t want to spoil it so I won’t say anymore. (By the way, if you haven’t read the series yet, READ IT RIGHT NOW! PUT DOWN EVERYTHING AND REEEEEEEEAD!)
96- Okay, I’ll do X-Men. (The comics)
1) Kitty Pryde. Nearsighted, brown-haired, hazel-eyed intelligent girl who is somewhat shy and younger than most of the people she hangs out with. Not so much the whole walking through walls bit.
2) Jean Grey or Hank McCoy (Beast). But I don’t think I’m nice enough to be Jean or smart enough to be Hank.
3) Hannah is like Jubilee or Wind Dancer. Masie is like M/Emplate/Penance/Whatever codename she’s using.
4) Well, currently Jean is off at the end of the Universe, Kitty is trapped in a giant missile, and Jubilee and Wind Dancer have lost their powers. So, none of them are dead, but they’re not exactly in great shape, either.
Can I take back my earlier statement about John being my favorite Beatle? I like Paul more – he’s a lot cuter .
Don’t die, thread!
Anyways:
#1: Why did you choose whatever you chose for your MB screenname?
#2: What other names did you consider?
1. Because my name starts with I.
2. Psychoboy.
I don’t know. It jsut came to me. I think I was hungry and I like kiwi. At first, I think I put kiwieater, but when I came back, I forgot what I had exactly put, just that it had to deal with me eating kiwis. I like “munch” sicne it had a ring to it, so I put that in, and that’s what I’ve been ever since.
#1 Well, obviously I like soccer, and even though I wouldn’t exactly consider myself to be a “star” I guess it just had a cliche-ish ring to it. Come to think of it it’s pretty stupid but I can’t think of anything better right now so oh well…
#2 Well, I think I was something like “crazyreader101” or “booklover” when I first started blogging, so obviously I had books on the brain then. (My first post was on the Books and Reading thread after all!)
#1: I ♥ ducks! I have 12 of them!
#2: I started posting as DuckyFlutePlayer, but soon I realized that Ducky would be better.
1) I made it up for a school project where we had to write blog entries for kids at our “sister school” in Turkey to read. I had just read a book about the Hawai’ian princess Kaiulani, so “Kai”, and I’ve always admired Jacques-Yves Cousteau, so it just popped into my head.
2) TierOneGirl, BaikonurJedi.
It was the first word I saw on Scientific American.
I didn’t consider any other names, aside from generic Muse-related names.
1. I had just returned from the 07 spelling bee, where I was told about MB.
2. I don’t think I considered other names. At times, I’ve considered changing the 73 or making it something math-related.
New question:
How many times have you been Rick Roll’d on any video website? (For me, it’s about 5 actual ones, with countless others on “Luigi is real in Super Mario 64” videos that I watched for laughs.)
Hmmmmmmmm. Maybe about 3 times, but I’ve rickrolled tons of other people. It amuses me.
99- Mine… hm. This name started out as a cheat account on another site. When I came here I tried thinking of a meaningful name, since “bookgirl_me” doesn’t exactly transmit the “smart and (semi-)serious” message. Then I figured what the cake and just typed in bookgirl_me. For a while, I considered changing it, to Pooka or Möve or Seagull (love those birds) for example, since my name’s not great for RPGs. In the end I just forgot about it… Sometimes it’s more appropriate then you’d think.
99- I have no idea where I got my name, especially since (big confession coming that I’ve been meaning to get out) I’m not a programmer.
100- Once. (Thank you, Piggy. )
New Question!
Would you want to find out the day that you will die ahead of time?
Hmm. Well. I don’t know. That is a very interesting question, though, soccer starr. It would probably alter the way you live life extraordinarily much.
Impossible logically.
Well, yes, that’s the point of it. I was just curious to see what you thought…to tell you the truth, my first answer was automatically no, but then I began to dwell on it a bit more and yes started to come up more and more.
Most certainly not!
No.
Do you see the Sci-Fi RPG as taking place in 2100 or 2109?
99- 1) Because I’m always randome and wanted my name to end in 101
2) Telepathy Failure 101
New Poll:
Do you enjoy insanity?
YES!
103-No. It would certainly add a bitter note to the last few days. Besides, if I find out that I’ll be hit by a bus tomorrow, it would put quite a damper on my day.
Yes! Of course!
Yes! Well, sometimes I guess…
This reminds me of the book Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life.
New thread maybe GAPA’s?
