“Neophyte” comes from Greek roots meaning “newly planted.” If you’ve landed on the blog and think you might want to put down roots here, stop in for a friendly welcome and some helpful tips from those already here.
Please read The Rules. You might also glance at The HG2MB (Hitchhiker’s Guide to MuseBlog), which contains helpful hints regarding local customs, lingo, and other peculiarities of the blog; smiley information included.
Attention, non-neophytes! Please don’t fill this thread with non-neophytic chatter. If there’s no one around to welcome, there are plenty of other places where you can post.
w00t! First post!
Greetings newbies! Welcome to Museblog!
(Second post?)
Hello newbies! I was one of you once, although that was two years ago…
Blog! And blog and blog and blog and blog and blog and blog and blog and blog and blog and blog and blog and blog and blog and blog until you can blog no more!
2- and then you left and came back. and Were a NEOPHYTE for a month or so, in my eyes.
REMINDER TO WELCOME COMMITE: NEOPHYTE< NOY NEWBIE!
Helloooooooooo neophytes! I am RAWR, as in the sound you would make if you were a lion. I past my one month mark July 25th, so I am more or less not new. I may still be a neophyte, but I’m not sure, so I shall continue as if I am not until someone tells me otherwise.
Hi, neophytes! I’m Cat’s Meow, a semi-old MuseBlogger. If you have any questions about MuseBlog, feel free to ask, but try to follow these basic guidelines:
1. Use correct spelling and grammar. Typoes are all right, as we all make them (especially me) but try not to use chatspeak or fourty-nine exclamation points in every post.
2. Most threads on MuseBlog have a purpose, so make sure you stick to that. It wouldn’t be smart to randomly post “I love artichoke!” on the Music thread. The monthly random thread (The current one as I’m writing this is called “Cooler Than Ever, Part 1”) is a place where you can talk about anything, but still try to stick to the current topic of discussion. If you still want to talk about artichokes, try something like: “Hey, guys! My cousin just got back from an artichoke farm, and told me some really cool things about artichokes. Does anybody want to hear about them?” You’re more likely to get responses that way!
3. Respect other people’s opinions. Particularly on threads like the Global Warming thread, the Hot Topics thread, or the Religions thread, the discussion can get pretty heated. Please don’t say things like: “That religion is so stupid. I can’t believe somebody can think like that!” Something like: “Really? I’ve never thought that way before. It doesn’t really make sense to me, because I can’t imagine that ever happening, but it’s cool that you think that.” would be better.
I’m sure there’s more, but I forgot, so just read the rules, the HG2MB, and ask us questions, and you’ll be off and running!
4- I don’t think you’re a neophyte anymore. At least, you woluldn’t be if you posted anywhere but the neophytes thread.
And now I will leave until some actual neophytes arrive.
I think everybody should leave until actual neophytes arrive.
Meow, exactly how old are you? (blog years)
Exactly, actually: *paraphrases Treble_Cone_Freeskier*
“i meen hw wood u lik it if i psted on her usin slng or nt reel wurdz? plz keep it fr u r txtin or im convos.”
OK, that wasn’t her exact words, but I didn’t want to follow all those threads.
Neophytes: Since this hasn’t been at all introduced, (except on the HG2MB thread) I’ll give you a few pointers on names. Choose an easy to remember name. We really can’t tell the difference between Urania! and Urania!!. So for your names: there’s several different types: the regular text, which is just whatever name you happen to come up with; the acronym text, which is an acronym for something (for instance “Zoufled Verbil Xerix” (my name, acronym.) would then be “ZVX”.) in your name. Acronym names are usually second names, after you’ve changed them. and the third, the character acronym. This is using special characters for your name, which has so far been documented in ΡÖŞÎĈ, iŹ√Ҳ!, and Ã߀ƒ.
HAVE FUN!
Oh. OK. Bye. *pouts*
Hello, dear Neophytes. I’m Beavo, Beavo the Great, Beavo the Online Stalker, Beavo the Online Stalker Spy Dude Person, Beavo (and such), or Beevs if you’re somebody like Misswann.
Um, I’m a two and three quarters (about) year on MuseBlog. Read the Rules. Read the HG2MB. No slacking. If you don’t read that you’ll be confused, trust me.
6- Yeah… I read a lot of the threads, but I really only post here and the Muse Academy RPG thread. I think about posting elsewhere, often I’ll actually type something, but then I decide against it. I need to have courage! I shall post in other places! Okay! I will now go and post elsewhere! I am off!
Ahhh, I remember when I was a Neophyte, it seems like only a month ago…
Oh, wait, it was a month ago.
12- Lawl. You make me laugh!
Hi me phyties! I am MissSwann of the Cygnus Isle, waiting to take you to a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies! (Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies!!!)

Hello neophytes! I am the Indomitable Groundhog, HPB expert and Roleplayer Extrordinaire. Look for me on the Bunny Apocalypse threads.
*Waits for Neophytes* *Waits More* *Gets Bored* *Leaves*
I remember when I was a Neophyte. Oh, wait, I don’t.
Back in 2006…
Hellooo, Neophytes! I am the great MuseBlogger AvalonGirl. You’ll see me on…mostly the Bunny Apocalypse threads. I’m also on World of Piecraft as Lady Elle.
i dont think i am a neophyte anymore!!!yay!!! i have been museblogging for a little more than a month!!…so much has happened…
yo I’m a real neophyte (I left something in the Random Thread place first *whoops*)
by the way, I might as well ask here… WHAT IS THE LLAMA SONG???
19- You can find it on youtube.
Greeting nephyte!
*pies again*
OMG! You don’t know the llama song?! I would post a link, the it’s not allowed. You could always look it up on YouTube.
In fact, I have the song memorized…..
Here’s a llama.
There’s a llama.
And another little llama.
Fuzzy llama
Funny llama
Llama llama duck!
Llama llama cheesecake llama
Palette brick potato llama
Llama llama mushroom llama
Llama llama duck!
I was once a treehouse
I lived in a cake
But I never saw the way the orange slayed the rake
I was only 3 days dead
But I told a tale
And now listen little child to the safety rail
have you ever seen a llama
Kissed a llama
On a llama
Llama’s llama’Taste of llama
Llama llama duck
Half a llama
Twice a llama
Not a llama
Farmer llama
Llama in a car
Alarm a llama llama duck!
Is that how it’s told now?
Is it quite so old?
Is it made of lemon juice?
Doorknob? Ankle? Cold?
Now my song is getting thin
I’ve run out of luck!
Time for me to retire now
And become a duck!
Errr… okay, but what does it have to do with this? Okay, kind of stupid question because the whole point of everything is to be random, but…
Ah ha! I saw new posts, and for that, there could only be the neophyte from the random thread! Hello, batuquierodeluanda! (I cheated- copy and paste are my dearest friends.) *pies*
22) Oh no! That’s not the TOTAL point. I just thought you asked so…….
No, some threads are there for those who enjoy randomness. However, not everything has to be random. In fact, some threads prefer nonrandomness, such as the Morphing Chemilian Thread and so on……
Finally! An actual neophyte! Hello batuquierodeluanda, how the heck do you pronounce your name? I am Adeia, the Phoniex of the fire and flames, who commonly lurks on the MA and chess threads…
Hi, batuquierodeluanda! I’m Kai, the resident space cadet and fan fic writer.
22- Welcome! I am MissSwann, my real name being Sianna, meaning Jane in Gaelic.
22- Welcome! I am MissSwann, my real name being Sianna, meaning Jane in Gaelic.
26- What type of fanfics do you write?
Welcome to the blog, batuquierodeluanda. *pies* I’m TNÖ, who is generally found on the BiP or SSSS threads.
Hello, batuquieroluanda. I’m another phyte.
I’ve posted maybe three times…? I don’t post that often- i.e don’t spend a lot of time on the computer
Hello ‘phytes! *pies*
I’m speller73 or just speller. I post all over the place, but I’m pretty active on the words and names thread.
25) um, mostly I don’t. I should probably have picked an easier to write/say name, but at least I’m not the one who has to suffer for it. Like I said to kiwimuncher over in the Random thread, you should probably call me BDL or something. 30) Hi, Miss Ellaneous. It’s nice to know I’m not the only phyte around.
Hey, batuquierodeluanda!
You can change your name, however, We’ll just copy and paste for now.
I was a phyte once…not too long ago either. I’ve only been here for nine months.
Batuquiero de Luanda — as in Luanda, the capital of Angola?
Hullo, BDL and Miss Ellaneous. (misc.?)
*pies*
How did you choose your name, BDL?
34) Right! I was wondering if anyone would get that. How did you know? 36) Well, I do Capoeira (which is a martial art/dance/culture thingy from Brazil) and there’s this song which goes “eu sou batuquiero de Luanda…” (which means ‘I am a drummer from Luanda) and it popped in my head when I was filling out the thing. I don’t actually drum, though. Oh well.
(34) I like it, very melodic. What about “batuque” for short, as a respite from initialisms?
good idea. How about this instead?
or something like it, anyway. Or maybe I should change my name entirely.
(39) That works, too. How did you get involved in Capoeira?
I don’t really remember. Sorry.
You know, let’s just start over. Yeah, this is still me. Sorry to keep double posting.
43- Aw, dang. I was going to call you Bat for short, and now I have to call you Arm.
-pies-
Oh, and don’t worry. I won’t really call you Arm.
Oh so you’re Armado now? OK! I just have to remember! *puts in memory box*
Very well, Armada it is. And in recognition of this auspicious occasion… *pies*
45) ArmadA! and for everyone else- *lots of pies*
*pies back*
47- Cool new name, Armie.
What’s your real name?
Luna in Hebrew. I’ll leave it to you to figure it out. (oh, c’mon! I know at least one person here knows Hebrew! Ask around!)
I speak Hebrew! And does this mean that you’re Jewish?
Luna means “moon,” which is the same meaning as Luna in Latin. It’s also the name of Israel’s one amusement park (Luna Park)
Yeah, I’m Jewish. Are you? I didn’t know Israel only had one amusement park. Too bad for them.
52- Yeah, I feel bad for them.
Um, guys? This is really weird. We had gotten to post sixty-something, we were discussing Miss Swann’s friend who’s half Jewish and half Christian, and suddenly my screen jumped and we were back here. Is there a problem with my computer, did I jump realities, or is this some weird GAPA power I don’t know about?
54- Some weird GAPA power you don’t know about. They occasionally retrosnip conversations that break blog rules.
Um, okay. I didn’t think we were doing anything to break the rules, though. (Does anyone else?)
This thread is for welcoming and orienting newcomers to the blog. It’s not a monthly random thread or the Religions thread. We GAPAs rarely retro-zap posts, but “Welcome, Neophytes!” is one of the few threads that has a clearly defined purpose, and I wanted to keep it from straying too far. I’m sorry if I upset or confused anyone.
57- Was that due to my post?
So, this thread is only for welcoming neophytes and after everybody does that, we should go somewhere else? All right then, where should we go? (I’m not asking Robert specifically, just everybody who was having this conversation)
59- the rest of the blog.
59- To continue our religous conversation- the religions thread. Here: https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1336
otherwise, explore a bit.
Well, there aren’t really any neophytes here, so… yeah. The topic strayed a wee bit.
Welcome, Neophytes!!!!!
57) Do you like writing? If you do, come on and join one of the RRRs! (Round Robin Riting) Tis fun, and I’m sure any RRR would be glad to have you!
63) I like writing a lot. Do you have any suggestions as to which RRR I might go to? If not, I’ll just wander off and join one at random.
64- Alchemy
64) If you like creative writing, then try this thread- we pick a topic, which is an image, and you write, um, something, for example a short story, and then we critique each other. https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1158
64- If you like REALLY creative writing, head over to Muse FanFiction, or if you have a taste for dangerous catastrophes, try Bunny Apocalypse. (which is actually a Role-Playing Game.)
and, your welcome pies! *pies* *pies* *pies again for good measure*
(that’s actually just my neophyte-welcoming spiel.)
I checked out Bunny Apocalypse, and I think it’s almost my favorite part of the blog so far. However, I’m not sure I’m courageous enough to join. Maybe I’ll wait until there’s a break (or at least something closer to one) in the action and then try.
68- There are no breaks in the action of Bunny Apocalypse. That’s why I left.
68- you can join anyways!! we are being attacked by bunnies and almost half of us are injured!! we do have alien reinforcements, so you could be one of them!! or a human abducted by them who just got brought along if being blue or having tenticals donst appeal to you!
69 – Yes that’s true.
However, I think that it’s a lot better than roleplaying in a place where barely anything happens. Armada, I think that all of us in Bunny Apocalypse would be happy to have you.
70, 71-Like you probably already noticed, I’m there already. Not actually doing anything yet, but at least there. Oh well, I expect that will change soon. See you there!
69- I beg to differ, we had three hundred posts of sleep, planning, and ideas back on Part 4.
72- Thanks for joining the Resistance!!
You’re welcome. This is the first time I’ve taken part in a RPG. I hope I don’t mess stuff up too much.
Hi everyone! I’m a bored Neophyte looking for some conversation!!
So a little about myself: I’m a real-life friend with MissSwan (we were born on the same day) and she’s the one who told me about the blog!!
I’m 12 years old and loooove animals, dogs in particular. I’m in a dog 4-H club, for any of you who know what that is.
and as you probably noticed by now I love smilies!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi! I’m new here! Don’t I sound ridiculous? Although, this is not the first thread I’ve looked at. (It’s the third) So I guess I’m not that new. Okay, who am I kidding, I’ve been on this site twice in my life!?! Is there a science thread around here somewhere? (Epidemiology and immunology please!) Isn’t odd that I’ve been subscribing to Muse for something like two and a half years and NOW I find out there’s a blog?!?!?!? Does anyone like Monty Python?
Hey! So there’s another Bubbles who’s new here?
(sorry for the double post)
76-maybe we should put some sort od distinction detween our names!
(75, 76, 77, 78) This is bewildering (but funny).
79- Ye, this is. is this the first time two people had the same name, joined the same day, with in minutes of each other?
79-well at least I use a capital “B’ and the other bubbles doesn’t.
81- True. you can be Bubbles, and the othere one can be bubbles2.
80-this is crazy!!
I think I might need to change my name entierly!
I suppose one of you could become Syllabub, a centuries-old English dessert that sounds almost like Bubbles pronounced backwards. Here’s what Wikipedia says about it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syllabub
(sorry for double post again)
82-good idea! except I don’t think the other bubbles in on the blog right now.
84-that sounds cool! okay, I’m Syllabub now.
86- which one are you?
To Syllabub and bubbles, I give you welcome pies.
*pies in faces*
Welcome!
75- Doggies! And 4H! Doggy 4H! Me, I chose girl scouts, but I like 4H. And dogs. And cats. And foxes, for that matter. I like all animals.
76- MONTY PYTHON IS AMAZING!!!
87-the one with the capital “B” (and friend of MissSwan)
88-I’m glad someone knows what 4-H is!!
I’ve never been in girl scouts.
Girl scouts can be dull or fun, it all depends on your troop. My troop is fantastically fun! We sometimes create word sandwiches, like ‘newcumber’ – Newcomer+ cucumber. That’s what we call a new person- I use it all the time outside of scouts, too. What’s 4-H like? I know a little bit, but…
90) Oh. I know what it is too!
Anyway, welcome newcomers! *pies* I’m surprised I’m only the second person to pie both of you. Usually this thread is filled with flying pastries.
92- Not for long! *pies Syllabub and bubbles*
Many welcomes.
91- My troop was intensely dull. That’s all I really need to say, methinks.
Howdy, ‘phytes. Welcome to the M-B Dude Ranch. I’m your lassoo instructer, Mister Pigzo. But y’all ken call me Piggy.
*shakes off momentary insanity*
Sorry ’bout that. Welcome, neophytes all, to the wondrous land of MuseBlog. It may seem big and scary at first, but just be friendly and you’ll fit right in. If you don’t understand a strange action or an unknown word, it’s probably because it can only be found on MuseBlog. Just ask, and an oldbie will clear things up. And now, here’s your first pieing: *piepiepiepiepie*. See you later!
Hullo, bubbles and Syllabub! *pies* I’m TNÖ, as I’m sure you can see
Anyhoo, welcome to the blog. *pies again*
HAILO NEOPHYTES! Syllabub and bubbles!!! Great to have you here, now I have more people to pie with the pies I’m experimenting with. *grabs random pie from lab* Here ya go! *pies* *it explodes and everything freezes* Whoops! *grabs another pie* *pies* *everything melts and burns* Ah, well, *pies with Scottish Blueberry Pie* THERE!
89- Hannah! You’re on the blog! *immense huggles* Quite confusing, what with the two Bubbles…
96- Yummy, Scottish Blueberry…
You know, that reminds me. Today, my mother came home from the grocery store with a box of Blueberry Muffin Wheaties. Interesting flavor……..
91-4-H is verrry cool, and it’s kind of hard to explain. You can look it up on Google or something to get a better description than from me.
*pumpkin pies to all that pied me*
I loooove pumpkin pie!!!!
Wait a second…what’s wrong with this picture? We need to give the Neophytes some more pies!
*pies*
74- Actually, the only way it ever moves along is if someone messes it up Everything is spontaneous.
*PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* *PIE* TAKE THAT, NEOPHYTES!!!!!

People are in a strange mood this weekend.
Rather an excess of piety.
Agreed, Mister Coontz! *Pies All Neophytes*
104- when ARN’T we?
107- This is a good point. Perhaps some of us are suffering from sugar deficiencies? It would explain the excess of “piety”.
I like pie. Lot’s of it. BUt too much gives me a bellyache……
105 – *pies for that terrible pun*
Meh, we’re all strange here. And ‘Piety’ is my now favorite word.
105 – Gah!
Piety?
All Neophytes, report to the Neophytes thread, you need to be pietyed! (Sounds funny.)
108 – Mmm, sugar. @_@
*pies all* I felt an urge to pie everyone.
114- There’s an episode of the Simpsons where Homer finds a truckload of sugar and he stuffs the trunk of his car with it. He is convinced that he’s going to sell it and make millions.
(sorry, random).
115- Sorry, seeing that you’re still a ‘phyte, you are the object of pieing. *piepiepiepiepie*
115- *pies in retaliation* *multiple times*
115- *splat splat* *splat splat splat splat* *splat* Welcome to the Blog, Syllabub.
116- Yay for the Simpsons!
118- The Simpsons rock harder than granite.
Oh, hi Syllabub! I am Zinc the sorceress/vampire, posting for my best friend Leafygreen. You can call her Leafy. In non-RPGs, she speaks in slanty writing. In RPGs, we are amphibious. I can summon things and I’m a vampire. Leafy can conjure fire. We’re the one’s cracking jokes and lightening the situation a little bit. We’re in Baker House at MA.
Syllabub, hello! I’m Kokonilly, formerly fellowmuser, age 12 and incoming freshman. MARFwarrior is one of my best friends and I participate in every single RPG. I am in Coontz house.
…*takes deep breath*
115-A neophyte? YAY!!! *pies with banana cream pies*
115- *pies again* I never get tired of pieing.
Hello Syllabub! I am *drumroll please* BEATLESROCKR! I have atrocious grammar, I like to write some pretty annoying and bad songs, Baylee is what I call my character in RPG’s, she’s in Spector house. My other character (Ven, I don’t use him much) is in Baker house!
*pies once more*
117, 118, 122, 123- *pies in return*
Thanks for the welcome everyone!!
121- I’m 12 too!! but you’re going into freshman year???
Alter-Ego Alert! hehehe….
124-She was accelerated.
124 – Yes, I’m going to freshman year.
125-whoops!!
127- that’s so cool!!
127-
Whoah. My parents wanted to skip me, but they thought it would be bad for my social development, and I didn’t want to leave my friends behind. It doesn;t really matter though; the school I’m going to is multi age classes (I might have a genius 7 year old in my class, or a stupid senior… age doesn’t matter).
127) Wowsers! Hold it! You’re 12 and you’re a freshman in HIGHSCHOOL?! OMG! Smart! So smart! How? How?
*dies*
Seriously, that’s awesome though…….
Wow, haven’t looked here in a while.
128 – Thanks!
129 – Well, the times I skipped were all good transitions.
130 – Wow, um, thanks! What a… strong reaction! Although… I know a sixteen-year-old who is taking his MBA. He finished his Ph. D. last year, I think.
*pies Syllabub again*
128- *pies*
I haven’t used those Titanite pies in quite a while!
Well if anyone’s loking to pounce on a neophyte, I’m one
A very confused one i might add
133 – *pies frantically*
133-what are you confused about? I’m a ‘phyte too!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one, I’ve been feeling slightly lonely without any other ‘phytes around.
Yay!! I get to pie someone!!!
*piepiepiepiepiepiepie*
Hi! Guess what happens next? *nonchalantly pulls lever* *your ceiling opens* *rainfall of pies on your heads*
133- Welcome.
*pies*
Simple, yet satisfying.
133- HAILO!!!! *pies with 50 million shapeshifting pies* Welcome Mezi the awesome! Pray tell, what are you confused about? We are all happy to help!
*is perky and happy*
137- Alter Ego alert!
Hey! Well, I’m new(ish) here. My sister has been after me for ages to get on the site. Recently, she commissioned me to do a Muse drawing for her, and at the same time, nagged me to join. So here I am.
Pie me if you wish! Just to let you know though, I had a baking spree this afternoon, and have a large, waiting, and ready supply of pies sitting next to my computer! Bwahaha! (Though on second thought, I won’t throw the boysenberry. It’s far too good.)
Thanks for letting me on the site!
Hi (pies) Mezi the awsome! If you are looking for a thread I suggest Bunny Apocalypse part 6. We’re happy to help ,what are you confused about?
*flicks pie at any neophyte that happens to stop by halfheartedly*
138- Nice
133- Hallo! *pies* What is it you’re confused about?
Hello! Welcome! Salutations! *pies Mezi the awesome and gwynevere101*

Hello peary moppins!
*pies*
eek
im covered in pie
tasty, though
(sorry for double posting)

hello to you too, kiwimuncher! 8)
*pies*
Hello, peary moppins! Have a sugar pie! *pies* Oh, a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down, the medicine go dow-own, the medicine go down…
That’s funny, I watched Mary Poppins just yesterday.
*pies*
139- I realized that as soon as I pressed the submit button
Oh well you still dont know who I am. I am safe!!!
Have a pie, peary moppins.
158 – Haha. ‘Peary Moppins’. I just noticed that. Haha.
137, 139, 159 – ALTER-EGO ALERT!
148-I don’t……
Hello peary moppins! I’m a fellow ‘phyte. *sets up pie thrower* *presses “start”* *watches the show*
just out of curiosity, why “peary moppins”? I love to know why people choose their MB names…
(Syllabub is an old english desert. Robert suggested it to me after I found out that there was another bubbles on the blog.)
163 – Kokonilly – KOKOpelli + NILLYbuckbuck. A nillybuckbuck is an idiotic genius, which MARFwarrior can vouch for.
Hello. Any ‘phytes yet? C’mon little neos, we wont BITE!!!
Gwyn won’t post. She’s too busy reading her FanFics. Hmph.
Yeah, she’s my older sister. And she kicked me off the computer for a few hours.
163- TNO stands for The Nearly Omnipotent, and I like umlauts.
*pies peary moppins and gwyn* Welcome!
163) Hello, fellow neophyte! I chose “peary moppins” because of “mary poppins”. And I like pears.
*pies*
*pies again*
*and again*
*runs out of pies*
*runs for cover*
Hi everybody! *pies with gigantic pie flinger* I’m another neophyte. 167-As in The Nearly Omnipotent Haley? 163-My name is another capoeira thing, but I’m not telling you what. Of course, it also means a fleet of ships. Which wasn’t really the idea I was trying for, but what the heck.
169- Yeah, I wrote to Muse as The Nearly Omnipotent Haley and it sort of stuck.
*dissovles peary moppins’ cover with a special acidic solution*
*pies peary moppins* Ha!
163-
I love The Beatles, and well, I just put rocker beside it. I guess it’s because I like playing The Beatles? I don’t know.
170) MY COVER!!!!
*looks satisfied*
evilevil
*pies TNO*
169) Hello Armada! I’m a neophyte too!
171) Interesting.
171-I figured as much.
*runs after peary moppins with a large supply of apple pies*
*runs around in frantic circles*
*steals pie from TNO* hee hee
*aims at Syllabub*
172- *pies peary moppins repeatedly with rhubarb*
*with lightning fast speed, dodges pies thrown by peary*
*whips out another stack of apple pies*
*throws at TNO and peary*
*watches apple filling smear across their surprised faces with immense satisfaction*
174-
says: You no steal my pie! *pies*
176- Hey! You’re the ‘phyte here! *pies with a thousand and one whipped cream and salmon pies*
177-You pinned me against the back of my chair with all those pies!
*pouts* I wasn’t expecting that. *sulks off*
178- Aw, sorry.
Ugh, I’m exausted from this pie fight. Too exausted to thow more pies! Oops.
*runs away in fear of being bombarded by pies*
I think this is turning into a pie war.
A bit. Shall we desist? Until more ‘phytes get here, that is
It seems like there’s been a drastic increase in the number of ‘phytes in the last few days. Is this a coincidence, or do you do some kind of monthly advertising thing?
172/173-
And, as you can see, this is John *waves hand wildly at a young boy who looks strangely like John Lennon* and Hiejayko The Ingenious Swordsman! A description:

Mine is probably the Muse of, of, of, I don’t know. Not knowing stuff, The beatles, and puppies? Garsh this is hard. How about the Muse of laughs, cartoons, and not knowing stuff? His name is is, is, Hyjayko Koway Osabi. He is pretty tall, and has long brown hair. He is from, some far off place in Asia? He talks through his environment. It always seems like the sun is rising up behind him, so you can always see his shadow. If you ask him a question he might have an answer, might not, depending on the topic. He can make things seem like they are not real. He looks Anime, and usually has a pencil and pad handy, nothing else. He loves blueberries and like to keep things crazy and weird. He definitely hates neat, and tidy things.
95. Beatlesrockr(8piepoints)&Hiejayko | May 10th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
88- Perfect, the muse of indecision, cartoons, and laughs. (cont.82) He looks like a tall kangaroo almost. But he has a long tail, wavy arms, and spiky hair. You can only see the outline of him and the rest is blurry colors (but you can see his shadow still) he has long feathered wings that are green and fade to white. He loves books and writing poetry, and writing fantasy stories!!!
Well, now he’s not really the Muse of Cartoons and Laughs, more, well, I CANNOT CHOOSE. Cartoons, Laughs, Magic, Swordman, Invention, Wit, Music. It’s hard to pick. He’s a random Muse. A mysterious Muse.
But, anyway…
He’s an ingenious swordsman, what’s more to say?
(183) Perhaps the ‘phytes will tell us how they found MuseBlog.
184) Greetings,Hyjayko The Ingenious Swordsman. And boy that looks like John Lennon.
185) Well, my friend first discovered the Cricket chatterbox, and I wondered why Muse didn’t have a Blog! So I Googled MuseBlog and ,*voila*, here I am.
And now I have an acid proof cover that repels pies!

mwahahahaha
186- Drat! I shall need a new plan… *wanders off to think of ways to pie peary moppins*
Hm, I found the blog through a contest.
*tunnels under PM and pies*
I found the blog through… erm… http://www.musefanpage.com. I was browsing and spontaneously decided to join the blog.
*PIES EVERYONE*
So many phytes, so little time!!!
186 – As as the research of repel-ation progresses, so does the research of penetration. Ha! *pies peary moppins with an acid-proof-cover-that-repels-pies-proof pie that contains snozzberries, smileyberries, hats, sugar, and cardboard, among other things*
Velcome, bienvenidos, hello, neophytes!
*pies all other neophytes with your average smart apple pies*
*pies TNÖ just for the fun of it*
I got told of the blog by MissSwann. She had been telling me to subscribe to “Muse” for a while, and, here I am.
If anyone cares, I found out about MuseBlog in the letters section of an old 2006 Muse, and I like apple pie. I don’t know if I’m a neophyte or not, I’ve been lurking around the blog since August 4 or something like that, but you can ignore that stupid question if you’d like, if there happens to be anyone around. I am now launching into monologue mode, just to warn anyone who decides to read my comment, and I advise you to stop reading this comment right now, as you will be engulfed in my monologue wrath in mere moments. (cackles) I have these annoying fish that have to be fed, and they are annoyingly stupid and pudgy. I can’t stand cold peaches. I enjoy peanut butter. My knee itches. I can’t go into the living room to read right now, because my brother has decided now is a good time to watch television, and I am loosing my train of thought, or rather, the train has derailed. AAAAAAHHHHH! opizuoidkjfiadkjaieuiqernauitrqwuriqwoajncajdhfoiefhao;kjpioduf[qieupoidyfqu8yoqhfajdhajhadhfdajdhfalsj
hhhhhhhhhaisueiuiasdfywihyaihsdiferiuaisj. Okay, the train is being repaired, ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ, the train is fixed! YYay! I like squids, they taste good. There, now you found out all you had to know about me! *pies*
I found out about MB from emmatheduck, who somehow always managed to work it into her conversations at the spelling bee.
Wow! There’s a lot of variety in the ways people found out about this. Myself, I learned about it from a letter in Muse a couple years back but never investigated until a couple weeks ago when I was bored with nothing to do and had read every book in the house and checked all my email and it just popped into my head that i should check this out. So I did, and immediately liked it. Whew, talk about run-on sentences!
I……………… can’t really remember. Oh! Yes, I was on the MuseFanPage website, looking for something interesting to do, and it happened across me. (I accidentally clicked on the link). Lo and behold, MuseBlog! I thought of the name MissSwann on a whim; I was obsessed with Pirates of the Caribbean, and the 2223 (used to be MissSwann2223, btw) cam from me trying to be unique in my MissSwannyness. (I dropped the numbers after a while).
I heard of the MB through our beloved magazine, did nothing for awhile, until for some reason or another I suddenly remembered it and decided to check it out. Low and behold, I found dozens of unique people exactly like me!
My how-I-found-the-Blog story is boring. I found the MB (this was 2 years ago) a month or so after Pan started posting. She just told me that she did it, I read over her shoulder obnoxiously, liked it, and started posting. Under this very name, which I have sustained with few interruptions for over 2 years! Yay!
191- Hey! *pies THF*
I can’t remember how I found the blog. It’s not my fault, though, it was almost three years ago, and I can hardly remember where I was last week XD Anyway, I do remember lurking a lot before posting and flooding the Recent Comments bar.
I was also very annoying then.
196 – I thought MissSwann was from Twilight, and you just added an extra ‘n’ at the end.
How I found the blog…is even more boring than THF’s (which wasn’t too boring, actually.) It was when I googled “Screamazon.eek” and I found a mention of it here. I’d lurked for a while, forgot about it, lurked some more, and posted on…*goes off to check*…
on December 23rd, 2007 at 2:33 p.m.
(201, et al.) Your “how I found the blog” stories are not boring to us. They’re actually helpful, but it’s also interesting to see the many routes by which people arrive here.
202 – I heard about it on the issue after the prejudice one, where it was featured in the contest, but didn’t bother to go. A little bit later, I stumbled upon it on the site and decided to give it a shot. I was being VERY unoriginal, so I chose ‘fellowmuser’ as my name. I then completely forgot about it, then remembered, then forgot, then re-entered, changed my name to Kokonilly and have been avidly blogging ever since.
I don’t exactly remember how I started on the blog. I think that I read about musefanpage.com in one of the issues, and decided randomly to come check it out. I found the blog, and posted a few times under ‘WizGirl’, but then I left for some unexplained reason.
I came back about 6 months later under the name Cat’s Meow, but conviniently forgot to mention I was the same person as WizGirl, so I was listed on the “Who’s Here” page under two seperate names for a while.
Then, I proceeded to disappear, and then re-enter, and disappear, and re-enter, and disappear, and re-enter, and disappear, and re-enter about a million times, much to the dismay of Alice.
Aaaand…that’s about it.
188&191) Zinc and Leafy and THF, YOU HAVE FOILED MY NOT SO BRILLIANT PLAN! *thinks of another way to build cover*.
*gives up*
*regains hope*
*builds PIE PROOF IGLOO THAT WON’T MELT OF GIVE IN TO ACID OR PENENTRATING STUFF! WHICH INCLUDES SNOZZBERRY PIE!
*pies from igloo*
201-Sure, I’ll take the brain points. Any particular reason why?
205, 206-I assume you’re supposed to be posting on the pie war thread.
I found the blog in Febuary, from the list of links in the magazine. I lurked intill july.
37 – Welcome! Cool name! *welcome pies*
Cool new name too!
76 – M. Python is awesome! *welcome pies*
86 – *welcome pies* That was kind of surreal for awhile. I don’t think two people have ever joined at the same time with the same name before!
133 – It gets even more confusing elsewhere….try the pie wars thread and you’ll see.
*welcome pies*
140 – Hi! *wlecome pies*
147 – *more welcome pies* Whew, I really should check this thread more often! That’s a lot of pies now.
Ack, I don’t remember how I found the blog! You’d think I would recall something as important as that even if it was back in 2005, but no. Did the magazine mention the blog in one of the 2005 issues? If not, I must have discovered it while browsing the fanpage.
I really don’t remember how I found out about MB. I first posted on December 27, 2006 on a thread about music, but I don’t remember where I got the URL. Somewhere in Muse, but where, I don’t know. Oh, jeez, I was so stupid when I first started posting. TO ALL NEOPHYTES: Please learn from my mistakes. Lurk a while before you first post. Go to the HG2MB, and the Rules. Learn the customs, then jump into that wonderful lagoon called MuseBlog.
That’s weird. On the Who’s Here page, my name has a ♂ next to it. No one else has one.
210- it’s because your a boy. and some poeple think your a girl. so they have the male symble next to your name.
210 – I have a similar symbol. Except, of course, it’s the ♀ symbol, for female, because I’m a girl. I just found out about that too.
Okay, ‘phytes, listen up. There is one thing up with which I will not put: ending sentences with prepositions. I mean, posting when you have nothing to say. ONLY POST WHEN YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY. And “first post!” doesn’t count as something to say.
I know that this is all covered in the HG2MB and people have posted about it already, but this is one of those things that can never be said too many times. Well, I suppose it could… whatever. Don’t think too hard.
210– I think everyone feels bad about their neophyte days. Including me. Oh well, it gets better as you go on…
210- We have similarities there, Piggy. NEOPHYTES: learn from my mistakes as well, if you go back to check, you’ll notice my first post was:
pretty stupid, huh?
“Yo, muses! Why don’t you live in a jungle? More cover for throwing pies!”
214- Not really.
214) I think I’ve made a LOT of mistakes already. More mistakes to come.
216- Yeah, me too.
217) *sighs helplessly*
200- Well, now that I’m more obsessed with Twilight than POTC, I say that it’s half POTC and half Twilight.
214- Meh, I typed these gems on the April 2007 Movies thread. (I was very excited, apparently…)
41. MissSwann2223 | April 9th, 2007 at 2:11 pm
I like movies, esp: Star wars,(2, 3, 5,) Pirates of the caribbean (1-2) irobot, the Brothers Grimm, Dreamer, the Fantastic 4, Night at the Museum (notice it says muse in museum), National treasure, Hidalgo, Elizabethtown, Men in Black… who am I kidding, i love movies!
42. MissSwann2223 | April 9th, 2007 at 2:15 pm
*oops*! Did i 4get 2 mention: Harry Potter, LOTR, Akheela and the Bee, Eragon, Shut up and Sing, anything romantic, comedy, or romantic comedy, Zorro, You’ve got Mail, Finding Nemo, Charlotte’s Web, Curse of the Were Rabbit, March of the Penguins, Bridge to Terebithia, Tuck Everlasting, the Thief Lord….
43. MissSwann2223 | April 9th, 2007 at 2:19 pm
Oh yeah! I forgot the Princess Bride, Shrek, POTC, Shrek 2, POTC, School of Rock, POTC 2, Star Wars (im running out!)
44. MissSwann2223 | April 9th, 2007 at 2:21 pm
…And i like seabuiscit and Mulan. And brother Bear (wheeze, wheeze) and Over the Hedge,Open Season, and POTC.
45. MissSwann2223 | April 9th, 2007 at 2:25 pm
Dear Museblog:
I have noticed a critical error in your Museblog; you 4got the Daylight Savings time change! I know this is off topic, but could
you please acknowledge my distress in this slight flaw in your
Oh Holy Mag website.
Thanx!
MissSwann2223 (aka Elizabeth Swann undercover.)
Well, I saw somebody/something in the mag, mentioning the website maybe in early ’07. I went on, saw the blog, posted (under a different name I’m pretty sure) forgot all about it, saw somebody mention it in a letter again in October, I think I might have posted (under a different name, again) and then finally, I came back in January, for good, under this name.
205- *gets into igloo* *pies* *gets out*
219- WOW. You were excited.
Heh. I remember one time when I managed to completely fill up the Recent Comments bar. *sighs*
221) Sweet.
220) Rrrgh.
Well, I’m a little late, but…
-pies peary moppins-
-pies Syllabub-
Actually I came here in the faint hope of discovering whether peary moppins (can I call you peary?) was a boy or a girl so that I don’t make some fatal mistake and end up with a life-long enemy.
223) Oh, I’m a girl.
You can call me peary, if you’d like.
*pies Alice*
….hello?
225- Hello!
225- -pies Zonka- Welcome, welcome!
225) Greetings, Zonka!
:idea (I’m just testing things out, and the neophyte thread seemed like a good place to do that)
225-Hi! *pies* I wondered who you were. It’s unusual for someone to join an RPG before they appear on the neophyte thread. Not bad, though. I didn’t notice this thread for a while either.
229-Also hi! And more pies! You haven’t been here for a while. Or at least not on the threads I go on.
225 – *SPLAT*
229 – https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1427 That’s the HTML testing thread.
221- I could do that, if I were reeeeally devoted…
*pieppiepie*
225- *pies*
Ummm… I’m new?
Actually, I can’t believe that I never found museblog before now.
I guess I got caught up in Nerdfighteria. Are there any nerdfighters here? (In case there aren’t, nerdfighter = nerd who fights, =/= someone who fights nerds)
I’m just glad that here, apparently, n00bs are not outcast and shunned, and are instead welcomed as neophytes. Definitely jokes.
234) Hello Elise!
*pies*
As you can see, it’s kinda a tradition to pie neophytes.
and non neophytes.
230 – Yeah, I never noticed the neophyte thread before. Well actually I did, but I didn’t read the description very well, so I thought it was about Greek stuff and planting. And the RPG looked interesting, so…..
234) Hello! I’m new too.
-pies everyone-
234-Hi! Wow, there are a heck of a lot of ‘phytes these days.
236-When I first came here I didn’t really have an idea of how big the blog was, and I thought the Random thread was the only thing here.
Sorry to double post, but I have a question, and since it’s kind of a phytely question and I’m still technically a neophyte, I’m asking it here. How exactly do you get points? I know you get them by award, but what exactly is the process? At what point do you gain the power to award points? If you give points to someone, do you have less yourself? What do you have to do to get points? That kind of stuff.
238 – Would you like 17 piepoints just for asking that?
239-Yes please! Thanks! I can put them in my name now, right?
239) So you get points awarded to you?
I have landed here to ask stupid questions that I am sure are obvious to people who have been on the blog longer than I have. How do I request a thread? Are there any GAPAs around to answer my question, because I would be quite ecstatic if I could request a Monty Python thread.
Welcome, Zonka! I do like the letter Z, as my real name begins with said letter. Well, as you post, you will notice that us bloggers are slightly less sane then your normal 9-20 year-olds. A little advice:
Pie is a form of…welcoming party. *pies Zonka*
Please do not speak in all capitals. CAN YOU SPELL HEADACHE? Or txtng wrds. how wood u lke it if i psted lke ths all the tme?
If you look under the comment box, you will see the words: ‘some html allowed’ HTML is a form of computer creation.
If you want to do html… all you have to do is make angle brackets (greater than/less than signs)
that will make a line through your words. just leave out the spaces between the word an the angle brakets. will make your text bold.
will make typewriter text. will make italics. To "turn off" HTML, do this. , again leaving out the spaces. Where 'htmlword' is you type the same word you used at the beginning. ie: code, strike, strong, em.The html will NOT immediatly change the letters. You have to hit Submit first.
Have FUN! (By the way, the real name is Zack.)
Oh NOO! what happend??! GAPAS, Can you fix it!!?? Pleeease?
241-Yup. Apparently so. I think you get different points in different ways, but if I knew I wouldn’t be asking.
Please dont tell me I have to rewrite it!
246-There’s no way to keep the command symbols if you reproduce them exactly. The computer can’t tell if you want it to do the command or to show other people. Try leaving something out and then saying ‘add ____ in front’ or something like that.
Sorry if I’m sounding know-it-ally. I have no idea how to do HTML, and a lesson would be appreciated.
So no nerdfighters, then?
I think you guys would fit right in. If you wanna check it out, try vlogbrothers on youtube. (hank’s songs are the funniest)
235, 236 – *pies back* What kind of pies were those?
248-Apparently not. I don’t do that much online stuff (MB is the exeption), though I’m probably the only one here like that.
Any kind of pie. You can specify or not. It doesn’t really matter.
-pies Elise-
Geez. You guys sure like the pies. *pies Alice… twice*
240 -Yup! I have 600 now, but I chose to omit them from my name.
241 – Yeah.
242 – Look up ‘Suggestion Box’ on the little search box on top, and you can suggest threads there.
Elise – *SPLAT*
I’d be happy to teach you. Go to the bottom of the page on the blog homepage. Hit previous posts and find HTML and Typograpic Tricks.
Eragon, I’ll edit it down for you. All is not lost. Here’s some basic HTML for all the ‘Phytes that need it.
Eragon/ZVX together | August 28th, 2008 at ___ pm
Welcome, Zonka! (this is directed towards others, too.) I do like the letter Z, as my real name (and ZVX’s blogname) begins with said letter. Well, as you post, you will notice that us bloggers are slightly less sane then your normal 9-20 year-olds. A little advice:
Pie is a form of…welcoming party. *pies Zonka*
Please do not speak in all capitals. CAN YOU SPELL HEADACHE? Or txtng wrds.i meen hw wood u lke it if i psted lke ths all the tme?
If you look under the comment box, you will see the words: ’some HTML allowed’ HTML is a form of computer creation.
If you want to do HTML…all you have to do is make angle brackets (greater than/less than signs, or: )
HTML is a set of commands that tells your browser how to build the page. On the blog, it’s limited because we’re not the site Administrators, but we still know a few tricks. They are:
[i] This will make your text italic. Be sure to enclose all HTML in angle brackets; () NOT straight brackets. ( [ ] )
[b] Bold text.
code text.To end HTML, use a slash command, otherwise,
.
That’s enough to get you started.
(double post, I know, but I’m addressing something completely different.)
241- Well, yes. You trade them, or get them by correctly answering a riddle, in the case of brain points.
The different kinds of points, their worth included.
Piepoints: Small amount of worth, given the huge number. On Museica, we have toyed with the idea of using them as money.
Many bloggers have huge numbers of Piepoints, such as Rt-H, Kokonilly, and me.
Brain Points: High value, there’s 200 brain points, but getting them is hard and even harder.
Everlasting BP are yet more coveted. As Brain Point master, I keep a store of seven around, to be handed out to those in need of points.
Spdzk Points. Probably the very most valuable point on the blog, there is one hundred of them. Rarely does any one blogger possess more than 20.
gaaaaah! missed wung points.
Will anyone give me some points? I’m feeling rather left out not that Armanda has points…….
Here, have some virtual choklit. It’ll make you feel better.
I have no points to hand out, sorry.
258-Yay!!! I ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ chicklit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I must ask some neophyte like questions and feel like a fool.
What is a Kokopelli? (Does it have to do with the magazine? Because I haven’t gotten my 1st issue yet.) And what’s with the pwn stuff? I’ll probably think of more, but that’s enough embarassment for now.
Okay, Kokopelli (proper noun) is one of the 9 “new” muses. He is the muse of tunes and tricks. Erm, I’m not very good at this, why don’t you ask a fanatic?
259- Just give yourself your own points. Although I have to say that people with multiple point things after their names aren’t really that creative. I’ve been on the blog for about a year now and I still don’t know what spdzk or MB points or piepoints are. It’s all really stupid. I like choklit though.
259- By “pwn” do you mean the phrase “Pwt pwns” or the word “pwn” itself? In either case, I will explain both.
Pwn: Somewhere, on some MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) or on some chat site or blog, someone wronly typed the word “own” as “pwn.” Thus, the word “pwn” means own. As in, “I’m totally pwning someone right now,” or “Pwt pwns.”
Pwt pwns: A phrase that someone, somewhere, on MuseBlog thought up of and has been with us ever since. Pwt is another new Muse, like Kokopelli, and he/she (we’re not sure which) is the Muse of animals. (I’m not a fanatic either, so I’m not sure if he/she is the Muse of anything else. Please don’t hurt me.)
“Pwt Pwns” was coined by Robert back on an early Books and Movies thread in December, 2005. As some of you will recall, he even had the phrase on his license plate.
263- Ah. Thanks.
255, 256-Thanks, ZVX! About brain points: On BA (before I joined. I read all of it from the beginning before I posted anything) I got the riddle that someone (I don’t remember who) gave Brendan before anyone posted the answer. Do you think I could try one?
225 – Hello!
234 – Hi! I’m not familiar with the term, but it sounds interesting. What exactly is nerdfighting?
Thank you ZVX and Eragon! And everyone else for providing various support and pies. I too, am fond of the letter Z. A very nice letter. Very angley.
*pies*
Thank you, Z√X.
78. My name isn’t capitalized. Does that work?
How many bubbleses are there around here, anyway?
88. Methinks I’ve found a friend. Ni! (only Monty Python fans will understand)
Gosh, I didn’t notice there were so many people who share my name. I live my live in oblivion.
79, 80. Yes, I know! I’m finding this amusing, although annoyed is another emotion I’m experiencing.
Sorry for the double post, but I was wondering, how does one acquire points?
269-I was the only other Bubbles, but now I’m Syllabub.
bubbles – Your question has already been answered. Please read the previous posts (your question is fairly well answered on post 255, but read some more if you’d like to get along well).
Where the heck is everyone?
Eccentric – check out the vlogbrothers early videos on youtube for nerdfighting info.
Basically a nerdfighter is a nerd who fights against suck and fights for awesome. Pretty much anyone who reads muse or is on the muse blog counts as a nerdfighter in my book, though.
225) Welcome welcome!
*pies Zonka*
234) *pies Elise* Welcome welcome too!
242) Actually, I think there is a Monty Python thread. It’s just really old and might have been abandoned by now………
251) It is a common greeting/congradulation. Quite fun, don’t you think? *pies again*
*pies Elise with tie-dye pie* Hello!! *pies again* *breathes in deeply* I AM BEATLESROCKR!!!!!!!! *tons more exclamation points* I am an ignorant 10 year old who likes music way too much! I love The Beatles! Why am I ending all of my sentences wit exclamation marks?! This is getting kinda annoying! I think I should stop now! Dang it, I can’t! *clicks submit button quickly*
Esile, Dna aknoz Olleh! *pies with very odd backward ies*
I have been reading this blog for about six months now, but this is my first time ever posting on it. Here are three facts about me:
1. I like to write, read, swim, and make jewelry.
2. My favorite books are the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. I plan to petition for a Warriors thread.
3. I plan to post on the Books and Reading thread, the Words and Names thread, maybe the random thread or the Incredible Morphing Chameleon thread, and definitely the Warriors thread if one is ever made.
278-Welcome, Rainbowstar! *Pies*
Out of curiosity, what made you decide to post now?
Red-tailed HAWK

279 – I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to post, so finally I asked my parents and they said I could. Thanks for the pie.
A thought: If one of the neophytes on this thread was really the alter ego of a longtime MuseBlogger, how would we know?
278- Won’t have much luck with that. Only universally loved series (typically H2G2, LOTR and HP) get their own threads. But feel free to discuss Warriors on the Books and Reading thread.
280- Actually, I’ve considered trying that before, but the GAPAs would know, and I didn’t really want to deceive anyone.
I even hatched a plan to deal with the IP address, I think, but I didn’t care to make a whole new email address.
278-Hi, Rainbowstar! *pies* I also like Warriors, though I do think that maybe Erin Hunter could have thought up a slightly less confusing system than using different series every time she introduced a new plot.
280- We wouldn’t. Though I guess if someone else was really close with the other person, they might recognize their writing/posting style.
Heyyyy…. *is suspicious* Why are you asking???
People do try it from time to time, but they always get bored within a few hours. It’s more fun to be yourself.
283- I don’t think she (they) should have written the second series at all.
282 – I’ve thought about it too, but, as Robert said, I would probably get bored quickly.
285 – I think the second one was fine. I just don’t like the third one much.
E2MB did it once. Two people at once, too. I never even suspected, though I do remember being slightly surprised when one of his personae appeared to have read the entire Terraformed story.
Wow, that was a long time ago.
[/reminiscing]
I think this is non-neophytic chatter, so…
-pies Rainbowstar-
I did it for about 2 hours. E2MB did it for weeks.
I’ve been doing it for years. I’m really Grant O.
282: Actually, depending on the type of connection you have (I think we have DSL at home), then everytime you connect to the internet, the IP address changes–so if you used a different name and different e-mail, nobody would know you weren’t really a neophyte..although why you would want to go back to being a neophyte, i don’t really know…..
Um…what’s the warriors series????
(291) Not every time. Yours has been the same for weeks, mine for almost a year.
(290) That explains why we never see the two of you together.
291-You aren’t the first person to ask me what Warriors is. I’m amazed that anyone on the blog knows. It’s about four Clans of feral cats that live in a forest and face problems such as famine, natural disasters, humans destroying the forest, and territorial battles.
I agree that the first series is the best, but I do like the others, although having three series (seriess?) is confusing. There’s going to be four.
291- three five book sets about cats that fight.
290- I really don’t think I believe you. But it’s so hard to tell over the internet. Are you telling the truth, or just joking with us?
296- it sound like a joke.
290-Really??? You are kidding, aren’t you??? Umm….. Are you??????
294-I liked the second series, although the ending seemed kind of abrupt-almost like it got cut off because the publishing date was approaching and she just had to wrap everything really fast.
The third series seemed to me to be stretching a good idea out too far. I can’t even imagine what the fourth will be like.
292: I don’t think it could’ve been quite “weeks”, since anytime prior to Aug 19 I was posting from home, and anytime since I have been posting from my dorm room in a completely different state….perhaps a week and a half? (and as far as the IP thing changing, I don’t know anything about it–that was just something my dad had said shortly before I left for school–one of those random factiods that stuck with me).
290: I don’t think I believe it, POSOC–although you do act old enough to be Grant O….I miss the days when I wasn’t one of the oldest musers around….actually, it’s creepy when I’m reading your alls posts and thinking your one age, and then finding out you’re several years younger.
297,298- It was a joke.
300: Oh? And you know this how? jk
301- I’m actually everyone on the blog except you.
302- And me, obviously. Though I could be POSOC, just lying to you. Chew on that for a minute.
303- Wait, but there are pictures of both Grant O. and Alice on the blog… I’ve seen them! *chews on thoughts for a minute*
299- You’re not old at all. *pats*
*pies Rainbowstar with multihued, starry pies*
290-Nice.
You know, that really doesn’t surprise me. It doesn’t surprise me at all.
I do have quite a bit of evidence to prove it, too. Quite a bit.
302-That makes you sound less credible. I am not Grant O. and I can prove it. I have met three GAPAs and a multitude of other musers, and I have had my picture appear frequently on this blog.
GAPAs? Please do help here. I know you all are very smart and have many ways of figuring out who any given person might be. How has Grant escaped this? How do we know if any of the bloggers are real? Besides those we have met/seen photos of.
Red-tailed HAWK

(304) What do you mean by “how has Grant escaped this”?
305-I’m just wondering how he has been hiding this from all of us. Robert seemed a little surprised to hear the news, so I assumed the GAPAs did not know beforehand the truth about this. Is it true you did not know, and if so, how did Grant slip past the “safety features” you have that normally allow you to determine whether or not any given blogger is really another in disguise or not.
Red-tailed HAWK

And, did Grant create Rainbowstar to have an excuse for blurting out his “alter ego” POSOC? Is he writing other posts on this thread as other people? *Starts looking around room at others nearby*
Red-tailed HAWK

Am I Grant? Am I? Maybe I am! Maybe! Hahahaha!
*Starts looking around room at others nearby*
I KNOW I’m not Grant, since I’m typing this. Obviously!
*becomes
ed*
AAAAAAAA!!! I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!
*gets put in straitjacket*
Is Rainbowstar a ‘Phyte? *pies*
We need a conspiracy thread to talk about this stuff!
*Starts looking around room at others nearby*
I KNOW I’m not Grant, since I’m typing this. Obviously!
*becomes
*
AAAAAAAA!!! I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!
*gets put in straitjacket*
-laughs maniacally-
Guys, you’re really taking this too far. I’m not Grant O. and never have been. Whether he’s really everybody else is something I don’t know.
312: i think they all know that–they’re just having fun…..
This is a very odd conversation. =)
Ahoy! As I’ve noted before, this thread is intended for welcoming newcomers. The current conversation seems more likely to scare them away. If you’re not greeting or briefing neophytes, please unleash your amusing banter on another thread.
314- no, it’s a museblog conversation. Come on, TNO, you’ve been here for a while.
315- :sheepish: Yes, we got a little off-topic, didn’t we?
It just struck me that this thread is comparable to an air-lock. We open it. Neophytes file in. We prepare them for the atmosphere on the other side. Then we let them out the other door. Jumping straight into the atmosphere of MuseBlog unprepared might kill them. When we get off-topic, there’s an air leak in the airlock. A GAPA jumps in and stops it up, and the Airlock of Insanity is working perfectly again.
Post 290 makes me laugh whenever I read it.
I am a neophyte and have never posted on this blog under any other name, and I am definitely not an imaginary person created by POSOC (who isn’t Grant O. anyway) or any other person who already posts on the blog.
319 – Heh, are you confused yet? Welcome to MuseBlog! I’m Cat’s Meow. ^^
Thank you Robert. I’ve been waiting for this to stop so that something important that I should know might be posted.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. *pies Rainbowstar with a bazillion pies* Ha ha ha ha!!!!!!! I read Warriors too!! But I think Erin is going a little too far. I mean, there’s 15 books, not including the extra ones. (Manga, Field Guide, Super Edition, etc.) I think the plot is getting a little repetitive (I probably spelled that wrong) but I read them anyways.
Oh, and Rainbowstar, I’m a ‘phyte too!!

(Sorry for double post probably)
319- Except for me, maybe! Heehee! *is thrown out of airlock door*
Hello Rainbowstar! That last post (319) sounded oddly suspicious…. Ah well! *pies with millions of mountainberry pies* YAY!!!!!! Welcome!
316- I just said it was odd, I never said their was anything wrong with it.

Oh, and, er, welcome, Rainbowstar! *pies*
I guess I’m a phyte? I don’t get Muse but I do get Cricket. I’m thinking about getting Muse… Am I allowed to MuseBlog anyway? Some of you know me from the Chatterbox. You probably don’t recognize me, but it’s Hannah R. Umm I have absolutely no idea how to do smileys so I’ll just do
326- You won’t like it here. some of us are really hostile to Republicans.
ladygaladriel Welcome, and of course you can Museblog. To learn how to do smileys go to h2gmb or with your mouse hover over smileys that have been made. Again , welcome!! *pies*
327- *raises eyebrows*
327- Not all of us! And politics only comes into play on the Hot Topics thread. It doesn’t matter whether our preferred pie is cherry or blueberry, we’re all Musers.
There are some right hostile Republicans ’round these parts as well. The blog is no longer a peaceful place to meet new friends; it’s a hostile blog full of debates, flaming, anger, and endless arguments and battles.
Red-tailed HAWK

330- I said some. You never know. Agagabagabag could come back.
Look, Hannah, as long as you don’t talk about evolution, you’ll be fine.
330-Wouldn’t it be nice if the anger and arguments would stay over there? Wouldn’t it be nicer if there were no fights? But it often isn’t how it goes.
Also, are you sure you aren’t Grant? I don’t know if I can believe you, Grant, or Rainbowstar. I don’t know what to believe on this blog.
Red-tailed HAWK

331- as POSOC, it’s only HT.
Oh, nonsense. People can talk about all sorts of topics and be fine, or they can start blood feuds over the right way to eat soup. It’s not the topic that matters, it’s how you handle it. On the whole, I think Musers do a fine job of expressing their opinions without letting the attacks get personal. I don’t think any fights have broken out for a long time.
331- Really? Name one who’s still around.
(331) I must be reading a different blog.
(326) Welcome, ladygaladriel. From what I’ve seen on Chatterbox, you should be able to hold your own quite well. Don’t mind the pies. They’re friendly.
335- Pie! I forgot!
*pies ladygaladriel*
327- -glares- Be nice.
Welcome! -pies- I didn’t get Muse either when I started.
326-
I’m not sure if we’ve talked. Maybe I should go check. ‘Cept the Chatterbox is agonizingly slow.
339- A little, I think. Not really directly.
332- Don’t worry, I’ve stopped contributing to that thread on the chatterbox
331- You know, your habit of ending every post with a bunch of smiley faces sometimes makes you look like some sort of sadist.
341- I was thinking of a way to say that!
Oops!! I forgot…
326- I am a DEMOCRAT thank you!!!!
335-True. But there are cases of bloggers not handling things well. Whole discussions have gotten out of hand. And I’ve somehow ended up a part of it. Whenever something like that starts, lots of people can get dragged in, even if they don’t normally behave in such a manner.
Now people view me as some sort of enemy, an annoying know-it-all. Which I most definitely AM NOT.
337-Allow me to explain: I view any hostility as a stain on the entire blog. Not that there aren’t many beautiful parts of the blog, but we’re fully capable of avoiding arguments if we try. Thus my assertion that the blog is hostile.
338-*Pies ladygaladriel as well*
341-POSOC, I could look at post 290 and call you a liar. But I won’t. And you know why? Because I don’t call names. I don’t think you should either. This is the kind of thing that makes me call the blog “hostile”.
Can we take this somewhere else? It has nothing to do with neophytes, and we’ll end up scaring them off. This is by far the biggest thing that’s happened on the blog as far back as I can remember.
Red-tailed HAWK

344- I agree we should take it elsewhere but first, I don’t think POSOC meant it as name-calling. The smileys just look weird sometimes, on really tense topics.
Now let’s leave this thread, ‘k?
Hi, ladygaladriel!
345-And go where? I do believe I have had this conversation already….
POSOC, you are confusing me.
RtH, did you mean that (‘this is the biggest thing that’s happened on the blog’) in a good way or a bad way? Like, as in ‘we’ve been getting more neophytes at one time than we’ve ever had before’ or ‘this is going to scare people more than we have been scaring them in the past’?
346-We’ve sort of settled it over on Hot Topics. But, I do agree, POSOC is confusing me.
Is he really Grant? Is he saying he isn’t just to settle us down? Because I could totally see him being Grant, but there would be no reason for him to think to say he was Grant if he wasn’t.
And I sort of meant that this is a major concern on the blog, and we shouldn’t make our neophytes face it right as they get in the door. As a comparison, you wouldn’t greet company coming in the door to a party and start right off telling them you forgot the pie, would you? We shouldn’t hide it, but let them get settled in first. And this thread is really for welcoming them only, so I should probably stop posting here right about now
I hope that made sense.
Red-tailed HAWK

(347) We have plenty of indications “backstage” to be as certain as it’s possible to be that Grant and POSOC are not the same person.
I’m almost positive that Grant and POSOC aren’t the same person. If anybody would have a surprising alter ego, it would be POSOC, Note that I only say that because that has happened in the past with Oob and stuff. But, yeah – I’m almost certain that they’re not the same person, and what the GAPAs say backs that up.
Wow, I missed a great deal of quarreling early. I was barely aware that there was any fighting at all.
I don’t find the blog hostile…
Grant and POSOC are not the same. I asked. POSOC has said he was joking more than once, plus I did a little bit of stalking and Grant definitely is not a figment of anyone’s imagination. I was unsure whether POSOC was really Grant, since my stalking of him didn’t turn anything up, but I’ve discarded that theory.
357- I thought it was clear he was joking. Just a passing note of slightly amused cynicism (had to google to make sure that was spelled right…) . Of course, if they were the same, I wouldn’t be too shocked, but I wouldn’t have thought, just from that, that he was actually serious about it. In my opinion, the single comment just got a wee bit out of hand.
And to HAWK’s other comment(s) in 344-
Also, I wouldn’t consider you an “enemy, know-it-all, etc.,” but I do think you should calm down a small bit on the whole “NO FIGHTING ON THE BLOG, EVAR.” thing, because as uncomfortable as they may be, they do stay civil, most of the time. We try to respect other’s opinions, and when there is flaming, accidental or not, they are usually apologized. Usually. And etc.
Note that the above is meant with UTTER and COMPLETE respect to anything you’ve already said, and that in my eyes, you are still a good guy. Kaythxbye.
Ugh, I hate doing this on the Neophytes thread. It pains me inside, quite literally. Many apologies to everyone for lengthening the whole discussion, but I am an egotistical brat and had to have my opinion known. Plah.
WELCOME, Ladygaladriel! Have a pie or two.
*splat* *plat* *squit* *SNORK*
350 – I know, I don’t find the blog hostile at all. I think that we can get into disagreements sometimes, but those are usually reconciled quickly with no major lasting effects. Besides, all groups of people, no matter how friendly and intelligent, get into disagreements sometimes. I think it would be unnatural if we didn’t!
About the whole POSOC/Grant situation: I was kinda unsure, because I didn’t think that they were the same person, but the GAPAs seemed like they weren’t really surprised. That threw me off.
353 – I think POSOC meant it as a joke, and the GAPAs were playing along, and that this whole thing has been dramatically blown out of proportion.
Can we move on now?
350- If POSOC is Grant, then Grant is POSOC. Neither of them is less real than the other.
Sorry for the double post. I just felt the need to say that.
351-Thank you, I never intended to be an annoying know-it-all. But that is probably how it comes across to some in a few of my posts on Hot Topic threads. My apologies if I ever did sound so, I didn’t intend to, and I am not a know-it-all in reality. That’s just how it comes across when some discussions get out of hand.
And I am in no way opposed to discussions or disagreements. As CM said, it would be weird if we didn’t. But there are cases where things get really out of hand, and although it probably seemed rather random to bring up at this moment, the discussions at the moment triggered my memory and I had to spit it out now.
I’m glad we’ve created some guidelines on the Hot Topics thread. That’s what I had hoped for.
I will now GET OFF THE NEOPHYTES THREAD and pay up the chocolit I owe for posting here.
My apologies.
Red-tailed HAWK

HANNAH R.
I’M SORRY I CALLED YOU A REPBLICAIN. I CONFUSED YOU WITH HANNAH M.
