Does ANYONE have names for the teachers in my story?
0
0
Um.
Mrs. Partridge? Mr. Harrison? Mrs. Pappard-Pappard? Hyphenated names are good.
Someone asked me today why France has no punk reputation. I told her to consider Die Kassierer vs. Joe Dassin. I’ve only been to a DK concert, but it is a valid point.

What story? How about Mrs. Nelis? Pronounced Knee-less. She’s my cool art teacher. Hmm. I wonder if this’l get zapped?

100 Hot Pink Bunny points to whoever can tell me what a torch singer is
0
0
GAPA, you do know that I’m not on the Who’s Here list, right? or maybe I just don’t exist…
A torch song is a sentimental love song, typically one in which the singer laments an unrequited or lost love.
The etymology comes from “Carrying a torch for him/her”; which means to long for a lost lover. A possible origin is that the singer (torch singers are almost exclusively female) sang in a sultry, jazzy way to bring out the sensual tones of the voice, thus resembling a smoldering torch… although most torch singers use the piece to display their vocal range rather than the sensuality of the voice.
Édith Piaf, Peggy Lee, Julie London, Frank Sinatra, Marlene Dietrich, Jane Olivor, Dora Gerson, Ethel Waters and Billie Holiday, among others, were renowned torch singers. Carrying the torch today are Ute Lemper, Diana Krall, Fiona Apple, Little Annie and k.d. lang.

For the uninformed, it’s a sequel in movie form to the game. And it owns you all. I was like crying it as so GOOD. And SAD. And really smexy.

Sure, post your play kiki. Who doesn’t love funny skits?
I have a math final tomarrow. I’m a tad nervous because I don’t do well on math tests usually (I always make really stupid errors like leaving out a negative sign or forgetting to solve for both solutions of a square root), and I need to get a good grade to keep and A.
I’m also a tad nervous about having to make a speech in front of about 500 people on wednesday night.

Towel Day is supposed to be a holiday celebrating H2G2 and the genius of Douglas Adams. You carry around a towel to support hitchhikers all over the world-you give them rides as well. I’m wearing mine as a turban. I printed it so that the 42 shows when it’s wrapped around my head. Also, I have a ‘VOTE FOR ZAPHOD’ pin and a shirt that says ‘Arthur Dent Hitched Round the Galaxy and I Didn’t Even Get This Lousy T-Shirt’.
Infatuation, not obsession.

My Math teacher has a 12 year old son, and this morning there was a quote on my teachers board that said-
“They just keep piling the homework on us so we suffer to the end.”
I thought it was funny and true.

Towel Day! Yee! Towel Day is also the anniversary of my dog’s adoption. So I’ll make HER wear a towel, too…
21 (emogrl)- Ooo! Manga! I’d say, like any regular book, a lot depends on the story. If you normally don’t read, say, dark fantasy, don’t read dark fantasy manga. Also, if the art is going to bug you every time you look at it, perhaps that isn’t the best series for you to be reading.
39 (PP)- I just recently got back from a band/orchestra concert, in which many parents got to watch Penty dragging around both a cello and a bassoon. Fuuun… BAND GEEKS UNITE!
You wouldn’t happen to go to my school, would you? Question: what was the special shiny piece that the wonderful eighth graders played? (band) or what is the violist’s name? (orchestra)

Hey Musebloggers. Canst thou help me out? I have this bigbigbig school project due on Monday that is a guidebook to middle school, and I really need some feedback. If those of you who are in 6th, 7th or 8th grade could answer the questions below by Sunday, I will give you 100 bars of virtual choklit. Thank you, amigos.
1. How is popularity determined at your school?
2. Do you think of yourself as popular? Why or why not?
3. Do the kids in your school gossip? If so, what about?
4. What do you think is the number one reason for kids to acquire a boyfriend or girlfriend?
5. How do you think times have changed since your parents were your age?
6. Do you have any funny or strange quotes from school that you’d like to share?

Also, Queenie J., may I use your quote that went like:
“I wish I had a group of friends at school. Then again, I wouldn’t know what to do with them. (Put them in a vase? Plug them in to my USB port? Sherry? (Badabing badaboom.) Bake in oven at 350 degrees for ten minutes until golden brown and flaky? Tape them to the fridge? Feed them birdseed?)â€
Oh, and everyone, I’m using false names. Do not fear for your anonymity.

I’m not in middle school. Sorry.
But guess what! I got a new violin — 3/4 size, and in my opinion, a bit overdue. I was supposed to get it a while ago, if I followed the average “kid, age, height” thing. I’m just short.
But anyway, it’s a beautiful violin. The case is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool.
Just had to say it.

I remember middle skool…i’m not in it, but if this counts, go ahead. If not, pshaw, i’ll do it anyway cuz i’m bored.
1. How is(/was) popularity determined at your school?
How close of a friend you were to tabitha m. Also, how blonde your hair was and how much time you spent getting dressed and fixing it in the morning. And how much makeup you wore, and how good you were at cheerleading.
2. Do you think of yourself as popular? Why or why not?
I wasn’t, no. I hated her. Passionately. Although i was popular amongst the nerds/geeks. Who are the people that really count.
3. Do the kids in your school gossip? If so, what about? Heck yes. About other kids. Dating stuff mostly.
4. What do you think is the number one reason for kids to acquire a boyfriend or girlfriend? In middle skool, it’s to be cool. High skool, depends.
5. How do you think times have changed since your parents were your age? I don’t know much about this…
6. Do you have any funny or strange quotes from school that you’d like to share? “Taters! Gitcher Taters! Don’t fly by the seat of your pants! Taters n’ coffee!” That was the biggest thing in middle skool for us. XD

1. How is popularity determined at your school?
Who you hang out with and what you dress like
2. Do you think of yourself as popular? Why or why not?
Nooo. I do and say what I want to (with some limits, of course) and don’t really care what other people think of me. This has causd them to think of me as strange. Or perhaps I scare them. One of the two.
3. Do the kids in your school gossip? If so, what about?
Yes. Boys, girls, this peron did so-and-so and I was liek oh-my-God, ect. ect. you get the picture
4. What do you think is the number one reason for kids to acquire a boyfriend or girlfriend?
To improve their social status, or somtimes because they actually like them.
5. How do you think times have changed since your parents were your age?
What we wear, how we’re treated, the way we think
6. Do you have any funny or strange quotes from school that you’d like to share?
Oh, where to start, where to start…
“I’m a nonagon!”
“Shoes are for squares!”
“Twinkle twinkle little…BUG!”
*someone blows their nose loudly* “Do you need to go to the nurse?”
I’ll probably add more later…OH! can we have another quotes thread?

Ooooh wait one more quote/story/whatever:
*at cast party, certificates are being hnded out. Morgan(girl) is called up next*

Morgan: *dramatic gasp* But how?

hmm, junior high – so glad im out of it!
1. how was popularity determined at your school?
…by how much $$$ you had, how well you could sing/act, and sometimes how good you were in a sport.
2. did you think of yourself as popular?
…nope.
3. did the kids in your school gossip?
…of course. about everything. i learn more about someone by overhearing gossip than i do by talking to the person. even the guys “gossip” here.
4. what was the number one reason for kids to acquire a boyfriend or girlfriend?
…well, there seemed to be some sort of a contest to see how many “relationships” one could have (these lasted about 2 days on average) over the course of a year.
5. how do you think times have changed since your parents were your age?
…it seems like the sloth in our society has been increasing exponentially since my parents era.
6. strange quotes from skool:
“oh mama mia!” – bohemian rhapsody, sung by chorale @ R9
“say trachea & call it spring breakia” – a derivation of one of my old math teachers sayings – every friday he used to tell us to “say sweet & call it a week.”
“key words: men of note” – during a concert this year, my choir teacher held up a sign that said this (m of n is the guys choir) + it was supposed to put us in a good mood…
I remember Jr. High… I’m not there anymore (and glad about that) but it was fun. I’ll answer these questions about Jr. high, not high school.
1. How is popularity determined at your school?
There were a lot of different groups and each group sort of had its own hiearchy. If you were invited to things, I guess. If you had things to go to and friends to hang out with
2. Do you think of yourself as popular? Why or why not?
Not really. In eighth grade I really wanted to be geekier than I already was for some reason. My friends liked me though and that is what counts
3. Do the kids in your school gossip? If so, what about?
Crushes, dates, etc.
4. What do you think is the number one reason for kids to acquire a boyfriend or girlfriend?
Because you like each other.
5. How do you think times have changed since your parents were your age?
More technology, different styles in music and clothes.
6. Do you have any funny or strange quotes from school that you’d like to share?
“I can’t count; that is why I’m in geometry.” In eighth grade we used to say this to a friend as geometry was the highest level math you could be in.
I hope that was helpful. Even though I’m in highschool now, those answers were what was happening in eighth grade.

1. the surfer kids are popular, but they run thru six grades, so.
in my grade (8th) there are just groups. there are the supposed popular group, but alto of them are nice and talk to unpopular people anyway, and there are enough unpopular people that it doesn’t really matter.
2.amongst my friends, yaeh, generally… i don’t hang out with the “popular” people, but they don’t despise me or anything, and i’m friends with some of them. so sort of.
3. any piece of news is common knowledge instantly. what sort of news? teacher who are leaving, crushes, dates, who danced with who…
4.i agree with e~a. cause they like each other.
5.people can do alot more stuff, different styles, more technology
6. ”
“it’s a fun fact, so if you go to your first job interview and they say do you you know any fun facts you can say ‘sure, i have a whole list of them.'”
“that’s pretty cool though, cause if our galxy threw a huge party we could turn the music up really loud and the neighbors wouldn’t care.”
“I already know the history. That’s why they gave me a Ph.D.”

I was just browsing for mnemonics, and I found “Poe, E.: near a raven” that was published in Muse, posted by the author! Here ’tis (I am SO going to memorize it!) :
Poe, E.
Near A Raven
Midnights so dreary, tired and weary. Silently pondering volumes extolling
all by-now obsolete lore. During my rather long nap – the weirdest tap!
An ominous vibrating sound disturbing my chamber’s antedoor.
“This”, I whispered quietly, “I ignore”.
Perfectly, the intellect remembers: the ghostly fires, a glittering ember.
Inflamed by lightning’s outbursts, windows cast penumbras upon this floor.
Sorrowful, as one mistreated, unhappy thoughts I heeded:
That inimitable lesson in elegance – Lenore –
Is delighting, exciting…nevermore.
Ominously, curtains parted (my serenity outsmarted), And fear overcame my
being – the fear of “forevermore”. Fearful foreboding abided, selfish
sentiment confided, As I said, “Methinks mysterious traveler knocks afore.
A man is visiting, of age threescore.”
Taking little time, briskly addressing something: “Sir,” (robustly) “Tell
what source originates clamorous noise afore? Disturbing sleep unkindly,
is it you a-tapping, so slyly? Why, devil incarnate!–” Here completely
unveiled I my antedoor– Just darkness, I ascertained – nothing more.
While surrounded by darkness then, I persevered to clearly comprehend.
I perceived the weirdest dream…of everlasting “nevermores”. Quite,
quite, quick nocturnal doubts fled – such relief! – as my intellect said,
(Desiring, imagining still) that perchance the apparition was uttering a
whispered “Lenore”.
This only, as evermore.
Silently, I reinforced, remaining anxious, quite scared, afraid,
While intrusive tap did then come thrice – O, so stronger than sounded
afore. “Surely” (said silently) “it was the banging, clanging window
lattice.”
Glancing out, I quaked, upset by horrors hereinbefore,
Perceiving: a “nevermore”.
Completely disturbed, I said, “Utter, please, what prevails ahead.
Repose, relief, cessation, or but more dreary ‘nevermores’?” The bird
intruded thence – O, irritation ever since! –
Then sat on Pallas’ pallid bust, watching me (I sat not, therefore),
And stated “nevermores”.
Bemused by raven’s dissonance, my soul exclaimed, “I seek intelligence;
Explain thy purpose, or soon cease intoning forlorn ‘nevermores’!”
“Nevermores”, winged corvus proclaimed – thusly was a raven named?
Actually maintain a surname, upon Pluvious seashore?
I heard an oppressive “nevermore”.
My sentiments extremely pained, to perceive an utterance so plain,
Most interested, mystified, a meaning I hoped for. “Surely,” said the
raven’s watcher, “separate discourse is wiser.
Therefore, liberation I’ll obtain, retreating heretofore –
Eliminating all the ‘nevermores’ “.
Still, the detestable raven just remained, unmoving, on sculptured bust.
Always saying “never” (by a red chamber’s door). A poor, tender
heartache maven – a sorrowful bird – a raven!
O, I wished thoroughly, forthwith, that he’d fly heretofore.
Still sitting, he recited “nevermores”.
The raven’s dirge induced alarm – “nevermore” quite wearisome.
I meditated: “Might its utterances summarize of a calamity before?” O, a
sadness was manifest – a sorrowful cry of unrest;
“O,” I thought sincerely, “it’s a melancholy great – furthermore,
Removing doubt, this explains ‘nevermores’ “.
Seizing just that moment to sit – closely, carefully, advancing beside it,
Sinking down, intrigued, where velvet cushion lay afore. A creature,
midnight-black, watched there – it studied my soul, unawares.
Wherefore, explanations my insight entreated for.
Silently, I pondered the “nevermores”.
“Disentangle, nefarious bird! Disengage – I am disturbed!”
Intently its eye burned, raising the cry within my core. “That
delectable Lenore – whose velvet pillow this was, heretofore,
Departed thence, unsettling my consciousness therefore.
She’s returning – that maiden – aye, nevermore.”
Since, to me, that thought was madness, I renounced continuing sadness.
Continuing on, I soundly, adamantly forswore: “Wretch,” (addressing
blackbird only) “fly swiftly – emancipate me!”
“Respite, respite, detestable raven – and discharge me, I implore!”
A ghostly answer of: “nevermore”.
” ‘Tis a prophet? Wraith? Strange devil? Or the ultimate evil?”
“Answer, tempter-sent creature!”, I inquired, like before. “Forlorn,
though firmly undaunted, with ‘nevermores’ quite indoctrinated,
Is everything depressing, generating great sorrow evermore?
I am subdued!”, I then swore.
In answer, the raven turned – relentless distress it spurned.
“Comfort, surcease, quiet, silence!” – pleaded I for. “Will my (abusive
raven!) sorrows persist unabated?
Nevermore Lenore respondeth?”, adamantly I encored.
The appeal was ignored.
“O, satanic inferno’s denizen — go!”, I said boldly, standing then.
“Take henceforth loathsome “nevermores” – O, to an ugly Plutonian shore!
Let nary one expression, O bird, remain still here, replacing mirth.
Promptly leave and retreat!”, I resolutely swore.
Blackbird’s riposte: “nevermore”.
So he sitteth, observing always, perching ominously on these doorways.
Squatting on the stony bust so untroubled, O therefore. Suffering stark
raven’s conversings, so I am condemned, subserving,
To a nightmare cursed, containing miseries galore.
Thus henceforth, I’ll rise (from a darkness, a grave) — nevermore!

Oh, that was for middle school?
Eh, same thing, really…
Anyway, the persons in my chem class are officially idiots. Today, we had a substitute, who passed out worksheets for us. Sinple, right? Read the book, answer the questions. But they all whined, especially this one REALLY ANNOYING girl who comments on EVERYTHING. And it is always something really stupid and pointless.
I just got back from ringing bells + chorus-ing at some mass for the seniors. We MURDERED the bell part. Our parts were all new, and we were just sight reading. Some olde people thought that it sounded goode, though. And then my mom asked this one dude in chorus if I scared him. It was a bit amusing but annoying. That kid scares me… anyway…must leave…history test…

1-I have NO IDEA. It just is and I care not.
2-No. I just have good friends. I don’t hang out with thecliques, e.g. I am not popular.
3-I stay out of the gossip circle, so I couldn’t tell you.
4-Um. No idea. For a date to the 8th grade dance?
5-Yeah. That was then and this is now… we now have more technology and less morals. I think that covers it.
6-Mmmm… lessee…
“ELAINE! You spell CIRCLE wrong? On the world wide web? You’re above average!”
“Somebody gave Elaine sugar again, didn’t they. I can tell by the way she’s twitching uncontrollably.”
“Maybe we can stgop talking politics and you can stop strangling me, ‘kay?”
(These are all from lunches. I know insane people. Live with it.)

GAPA, i think we need a Towel Day thread tomorrow so we can document the reactions of our fellow classmates. (Mine’ll probably be all eyes rolling, since i’ve been trying to get them to do this for months. But y’know.) Also general celebration of all things Douglas Adams.
Of course there might already be one up since i haven’t actually checked the main page yet. Per se. I sorta skipped through it fast. ah well.

Freddie Mercury died of AIDS. “Bohemian Rhapsody” is Mercury fooling around with operatic music. It was also an accidental hit, and one great number.
81-Ph.D is “Push Here, Dummy.” Maybe it’s different at Unseen University. I should know about that degree-I have one.

OUT OF MIDDLE SKOOL FOREVER!!
I graduated yesterday and today was the last day. I said a speach at promotion/graduation. It turned out well. I was happy. There was a really fun dance afterwards. Today was instense… all these drama obsessed girls sobbing into eachother’s arms like they’ll never see eachother again (even though there all spend the summer going to parties together). Plus a bunch of other stuff happened. But I’m too tired to post it now.
Standardized tests are boring and tedious.

mrahr to the stupid bus… my bus was 45 minutes this afternoon. 45 minutes!!! and it just had to be late on senior skip day, so i couldnt go ask any of the seniors i know for a ride!
guess what? little green army guys are invading my skool! im not kidding! someone (my friend knows this certain someone, but i dont) started putting little green army guys around the skool last week…ive seen them on the stall dividers in the bathroom, on window sills, on door jambs…& now some of my friends & i have decided to become followers of this person…we could only had one army guy today, but im going to see if my LB has any he doesnt want this weekend…this is going to be fun…

My favorite Vivian Vande Velde book is Heir Apparent.
Green army guys, eh? Sounds like more fun than my school. The teachers’ idea of fun is canceling our only free period in the entire week for a Memorial Day assembly and a meeting of the grade. YUK!!
0

Our bus takes about an hour..and in a car it only takes 15 minutes!!!!
0

I like Heir Apparent. It is a Good book.
129- am going to do that next year.
0
0
And this is why I don’t take the bus… For some reason, I go to a magnet school that’s across town from where I live, so the bus takes about three hours to get from school to my house.
0

Ha! we had a beach day today and it was really fun, but my feet are covered in blood blisters… gross. I like the green army guys thing… but there’s only four days of school left, and they’re all half days, and they’re finals, so everyone is so worried they don’t notice anything… you could have competitions, for best placed, total number placed…

How do you guys think up the names for the monthly threads anyway? Does one of you just make it up, or do you agree on the name?

My bus ride is was 30 min. We 8th graders owned the back of the bus, but the 7th graders were always mingling with us and taking our seats. Next year I will be a freshie and will be back at the bottom of the food chain.
I feel so guilty… I lost one of my mums earings!!! I can’t believe how stupid it was… and now I have to tell her… and I haven’t been very nice lately, so that doesn’t make it any better. I really wish it would just show up.
It wasn’t a nice expensive one, luckily. But it was one of those nice small sized rings that are hard to find pretty versions of. Uuuuh. Oh well I guess I’d better get this over with. *smacks forehead and cringes*

Thank you, everyone who answered my questions! Virtual choklit coming right up:
Hello, I got my scores back on my High School Graduation Qualifying Exams on the 22. I passed all three parts. And on the math section, I received all the points possible, which means I did every single problem on the math part right! Creepy!
I didn’t do quite as good on the reading, I had one less point than it was possible to earn. And on writing, I had around half a dozen less points than possible, but who really cares. I passed, that’s all I really care about.
I declare it officially summer here in Alaska. By my standards, it’s summer when they lake by my house becomes warm enough to swim in, and the temps are up in the 70s. Yesterday I went swimming in the lake for the first time this year. It was a little chilly, but I stayed in the water for about an hour. This is the earliest I ever remember the water being warm enough to swim in. Usually it’s June before it’s warm enough! And yes, this is a lake that, at the beginning of this month, had still had ice on it.
0
0
I have no idea what those tests are like, M.W., but it seems like you got the opposite of what I would have gotten (actually, my test scores are showing up OK for math, but I’m still uncomfortable with the whole idea of math.)
I’m great at reading and writing, though, and I probably do a bit better at writing than reading, in general.
0

Whenever we go up to northern MI, there’s some sort of story about the lake having huge chunks of ice in it.
0
0
I swear, whenever I try to post with this cool MBlogname, it takes longer to show up. And I know that this will show up at the same time as the other one I did, but I wanted the world to know in an interesting time.
I’m definately stronger in reading and writing than I am in math.

Hmm.. ice in the lake at the beginning of the month, and now you’re swimming in it. Nice. Nice like ice! *is pied*. Sorry. Couldn’t help myself. I usuallt start swimming in my pool around mid-April. See, i remember the good ol’ days when we had the URL box hiding those pesky question marks…you could impersonate the GAPA however you liked, green and all. Of course they went in and changed it so people could tell. *sulks* Ah well.
Yes, this is old person here telling y’all about the good ol’ days again…lol
Well, my aunt and uncle are here for memorial day weekend. Pretty cool…we went and showed them around and all, cuz this is the first time they’ve been here. Oh yah and mebbe i mentioned uncle john’s doing julius ceasar, no? Well it’s gonna be set in the 60’s, and he’s gonna have a 10-foot pic of just his face up on a poster as part of the set and somebody gets to come in and cover it with graffiti. We laughed. Mwahaha.
English group project due Wed. 40-min presentation on the differences between Japanese and American schools. Anything, anybody? Group’s meeting for the first time Tuesday night…it should be…interesting, to say the least. Let’s see how late Eric’s parents let us stay at his house and hope we get it done fast. Oh man…
Examms coming up. Break out the molesworth.
I got the AP US History summer reading book. The Frontiersmen. I’m about a quarter of the way through. It’s pretty good. If you like the whole West stuff, go read i guess.
I know i’m a sad little geek…my required summer reading will probably be finished before summer starts. *sigh* Ah well.
Ok GAPA…i know, i know, there’s Ebeth trying to get a link in again. Well i had this forum, and it was dead. Then MG found it, and now it is alive. We have a few other peoples on there and stuffins, and tis much fun. Almost a mini-MB except not really quite. Well. Whatev. I doubt you’ll allow it, since you need email and whatnot to sign up, but here tis anyway
I wonder why i bother doing the html when i know you’re going to delete it anyway? Ah well.
Well i’m gonna go play bocce now…who lurves bocce? Me me me! Almost as much as schmere. But not quite.
Oh btw…Orp. CHOKLIT! Randomness. Squee!

(203) For the project, you should definately include information on cram school. Japanese kids have it 50 times harder than in the states, as a whole. And I ‘m looking for the forum! I thought I found it once, need to find it again. Proboards, right?

NEED…… CHOKLIT……
hey, GAPA, why don’t you set up a Chocolate thread? Everybody would LOVE that, especially Ebeth.

Hello everybody!
!!!!! (false enthusiasm)
Urgh, I had my braces tightened on thursday and my teeth STILL hurt. Plus I have one of those horrible sores on the inside of my bottom lip that comes from evil bracket thingys. And I only got four hours of sleep before going to Hershey Park on friday, got home after midnight, and absolutely did not get enough sleep before being dragged off somewhere else by my mother. The happy bit in all this mess is that we stopped at a used book store and I went crazy and bought 14 books for less than $30, including all the Castle Perilous books by John DeChancie that nobody’s ever heard of, which is a good thing because nobody had bought them and the store had all of them (my mom bought me #s 1 & 3 in 05 for Christmas. My mom absolutely cannot by books 1 & 2 of a series at once. She either gets 1 or 2, but never both at once. She always gets 3, however) And some great classics (Stargirl, The Giver, Chasing Redbird) and Prophecy of Stones, which will probably will be terrible because it was written by someone who was 15 and is a bestseller, which means that a bunch of old ladies buying presents for their younger relatives thought the cover looked good. On the other hand, I’ve never heard of it except for seeing it in BAM, so who knows, it might be good after all. God, I bought so many books I don’t even remember what most of them were. They only had 4 books by Terry Pratchet, and two of them I already owned, including this actual, brand-new, hardback copy of Feet of Clay. Too bad I already owned that one. If it had been Monstrous Regiment or Night Watch I would have bought it anyway, though. So I got Small Gods, but I missed The Amazing Maurice because it was in a different place and some guy got to it before me. Darn. Raise your hand if you actually read all that.
I’m sorry, I have a glitch in my computer which disables any font changes, such as italics and green.
Anyway, all posts with the word pie in it will now be deleted because some of the adult populaton of Museblog are petitioning to get rid of pieing. Sorry.

Going to the Writing thread right now. And while we’re at it, could somebody please check out the RRR? Xie xie.

OK. Sorry.
Actually wasn’t too bad here today… it was only about 92 around noon and pretty nice in the late afternoon. Supposed to be 106 by wednesday though.
Don’t they have to clean the classrooms themselves after class in Japan? Actually, I think that’s a pretty good plan. Keep people from trashing the skool.

#219: ouch. break out the motrin.
what a day. this evening i went w/ my friend to see the da vinci code – v good movie! then we were kinda bored – since we werent being picked up until eleven – so we went across the street from the mall – to toys r us! hehe, that was fun. we found a mad libs book & started doing a mad lib about guys – apparently, i want a guy with a chunky voice, who will hold my tibia when we cross the street together. haha, wish i could remember the rest of that…
then my friend found a frog by this little fake river thingie near the parking lot. she immiediately fell in love…and almost fell into the river while attempting to kiss it. hehe, it was an incredibly cute frog though. we ended up naming him before letting him go – he now possesses the name lief erikkson! purty schweet name for a frog… oh, shut up.
and i bought the first issue thingie of fruits basket (anime). my friend said it was a good series

Oh, to get technical, manga are the graphic novels; anime are the cartoons.
We still have skool, but we have a three-day weekend. And once again, I am procrastinating on my book report…
Only eight more days of skool.

I need more books in my house. I have read every book in my room at least twice, every book in my brother’s room at least twice, and every issue of Muse at least three times. I have sunk to reading the magazines of the rest of my family, such as Time, FamilyFun, National Geographic, Ranger Rick, and even Sports Illustrated once. I have read half of the Young Adult books in the school library and a quarter of them in the public library. Mrahr.

Just kidding. I have a weird since of pride about the heat southern AZ… I’ve actually caught myself bragging to people about it. Pathetic, I know. Well, hey. It’s fun to be able to say “Jeez, it wasn’t a very hot July. The record was only 113!”
(see what I mean about bragging? I can’t help it).

Hey GAPA, can we take out the Thursday-is-randomness-day from the calendar? Nobody celebrates it specially anymore, and it takes up space from b-days and other rather more festive celebrations. Besides, for b-days i need all the forewarning i can get. Gotta dig through and find those colours.

Well, Ebeth, the heat’s only going to worsen, with Global Warming and everything. If I were you, I would invest in sunscreen companies.

Eh, HDM, if we’re talking about the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman (think that’s his name), those books are pretty good.
However, many others are better.

THF has read Warriors…she’s obsessed with the books.

I like HDM and think they rank up with the other “really good books” namely A Wrinkle in Time, The Giver and so forth. I don’t think any books are the best books ever.
0

HDM doesn’t rank with Wrinkle in Time. Well, maybe the Golden Compass does. But yah. No.
Global warming confuzzles me. I’m not sure i believe in it anyway…but then i’m not really sure what it is. I mean i know what it is, but not all the theories about it and suchlike.
Anyhoo. Whatev. I shall go melt…

(271) Global Warming is most certainly real. I have a rant but will not bother with it. -tired-

Global Warming isn’t a theory, it’s a deteoration of the Ozone layer that is most deffinately occuring because of the chemicals humans are releasing into the atmosphere. You can see it’s affects everywhere. In 20 years, there will never ever be any more snow certain mountains I know of (but can’t name without giving away where I live).
0
0
Kali Δ (260),
Just tell us when your birthday is and we’ll put it on the calendar. If you tell us your favorite color, we’ll include that info too so MuseBloggers can wear it in honor of the glorious occasion.
0
0
SN (274),
The deterioration of the ozone layer is a separate problem. It allows more ultraviolet light through the atmosphere.
Global warming (which has been measured) appears to be connected with the buildup of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere (which has also been measured). Carbon dioxide traps heat in the atmosphere.

My friend showed this to me. It is really funny
Ron Weasley stands outside the burrow. He’s wearing baggy dress robes, a duo-rag, and a bow tie with dollar signs all over it. He has fuschia sun-glasses that clash with his freckles, and are bigger then his chest. He’s got major bling.
“Yo yo this is Ronald Weaze-to-please-izzle and I’m here to lay this %$#@ down aight? This is my crib, why don’t yall come inside?” *Moonwalks into house*
“Aight so like, this is the kitchen, where all them munchie s*** happens. My mumizzle likes to lay down eggs, bacon, rare cow, the crunk knowwhaaimsayin, anywhos, you better keep that %^%# on the d-l before dem playas try to jack’ in my kitch-”
“RONALD BILIUS WEASLEY WHAT IN THE NAME OF GODRIC GYRFFINDOR DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING? NEVER IN ALL MY DAYS HAVE I WITNESSED SUCH HORRIBLE DRESSING, TAKE THOSE SUNGLASSES OFF THIS INSTANT!!!. AND I OUGHT TO CLEAN YOU EAR TO TOE WITH”
“yo, mom! be cool, be coo-”
“IIIIII KNOW WHERE THAT FILTHY MOUTH STARTED…. IT’S MUNDUNGUS IIIISN’T IT???”
Ron flees into the bathroom, locks the door. muffled screams are heard from the other side, but fade away after a couple of minutes. His sunglasses hang lopsided across his face, one eye exposed.
“Ho shi….. when dem females get in your grill you just gotta clock out ya know? Anyways, this is where I get down tah bizz, knowwhaimsayinknowhwaimsayinnn?”
Ron punches camera man on shoulder several times while repeating the “knowwhatimsayin” drawl. Akward silence follows.
“Shoot, you studio types are cold as Ginny in the chamber. Anyway…. this is the throne, where I get my duty handled. No need tah get into that, I’m sure. This shower where I get nice and soapy, just gotta wash off. It’s a bath too, check this…”
Ron turns on the nozel, explaining there is “hot” “cold” and “medium” all in one bath. He raises his eyebrow defiantly and looks at the camera; his bathtub is inarguably gangster.
“K, we uh ditch this, gonna check out my pad.”
Ron creaks the door open, checks to make sure his mom is preoccupied with something, and sneaks upstairs.
“Haha, easy as the poh-lease. Yeah, you heard right. I should be on death row right now, but dem aint never catching me.”
He opens the door to see fred and george clutching each other, laughing incontrollably
“YO, WHAT YOU PUNKS DOING IN MY GRILL?”
“Oh-oh-oh-n-noothing… I guess were just evading the ‘poh-lease’ “. Fred and george bursted with laughter anew.
“Yeah, but your gonna lead them str-straight to us, since your supposed to be on death row right? for murdering that canary cream? Or killing mom with those sunglasses?”
“I GOT A MIND TO BUST A CAP IF I DON’T GET SOME RIZZ-BECT UP IN THIS JOIN-”
Ron started yelling all sorts of threats, and at one point even pulled out his squirt gun and shot george, but they were ignoring him. They were huddled together, excited about the prospect of their “south-central LA” potion working as well as it did on their unsuspecting brother, turning even the most british failure into a wannabe hip-hop sensation for 10-12 hours. It seemed the laughing and the yelling and the squirting would have gone on forever, but fleur delacour passed by right then, and ron whipped around so fast his sunglasses fell into his robes.
“Ho snaps, shorties on the menu tonight”
“BUT RON SHE’S YOUR SISTER IN LAW!” Fred and George shouted together.
“Don’t hate the playah…. hate the game.”
And with that, Ron abandoned the episode of cribs to pursue what he called “The Fleur Purr” only to be foiled by her marital status and the onset of gas at the potions third hour.
The end.

Ick. I Wikied global warming (I figured I should after pubicly displaying my ignorance inpost 274). I understand it now, though. And I feel kinda sick. Mmm.
0
0
54-Yes, you may. If you attribute it to me. And please use it for good, not evil.
Global warming never happens on Haskamir. We have this one massive airflow that goes all around the planet displacing heat, humidity, and pressure like nobody’s business. It means that the temp all over the planet is always equal-75 degrees. The great thing about this system is that the gases have a balance so intricate and foolproof you can hack at it with a very large ax and only make it more productive.
Sorry. That was a digression. Anyway, the point is that very, very, very few people have any clue or plan to stop global warming, so that we had better go “tails up” and try to stop it, at least.

I’M BACK MUSERS!
I see you’ve all been busy. I have to. And I also have some great news. I checked my email when I got back, and the Muse crew asked me to resend my original Muse movie ideas letter. They said they wanted to see it again. I don’t know why, but that sounds good.
Looks like we’re well on the way to making this dream come true.
GO MUSERS!

it’s what we call a random thread. A thread, that is, to be random on. Just post about anything you like.
0

It’s called “Wish I May, Wish I might”, because random threads are monthly things, so the GAPA always incorporate the name of the month into the title of the thread. Like our March random thread was Forwaaaaaaard March! and April was April Foolery.

285-Axa- I usually just read it over and over. Or write it over and over. Or say it over and over. The trick for me is repetition.
(285, Axa) I to think of a rule/story to help me remember the stuff.

291-Oh, it is beautiful. I can wax on about it for hours. For example, did you know that Haskamirians have the TANSTAAFL legend on our flag? Every year I used to give a secret Free Lunch for my friends. We had fun with it. And our money is waterproof, and it isn’t damaged by our washing machines. Plus, it’s reeeeallly hard to fake, with seven watermarks and a secret code.

Hey, y’all. Just thought you ought to know, but my parents are refusing to renew my Muse subscription. Instead I’ma going to read Smithsonian, which we get anyway. It’s smashing, except that there are too many ads. Oh well.
While I was reading Smithsonian, I saw an ad for a website that sells pirate stuff, and I went there, and it’s awesome.
0
0
Waterproof money? Nice! On Ganymede, the money is this leathery type of leaf, which is, unfortunately also the favorite food of a certain type of shiny orange beetle. So you have to either let your money get eaten, or spend fortunes on your own personal Yaka bird to eat all the orange beetles. Either way, it’s very hard to be rich.
I suppose that my mey be the reason they keep it that way, but it is still very irritating to leave the house with 5 leaves and I arrive with only three.

E.X.A.M.S. Next week. And the people in my class insist on being idiots and disrupting the reviews…*fumes* They mostly socialize when we do the review sheets and then complain that they don’t know what we’re doing. *Hmm* I wonder why…
303- Oh, no! Poor USEC! *hug* Once my parents didn’t do that for three months! Well, Smithsonian sounds flamablamablous, too.
The only other magazines I subscribe to are SA, NG, and Newsweek. That sounded pretty nerdy, didn’t it? *broods*
Does it annoy anyone here when a piece of code works on one part of a website but not on another part….bloody DOS shortcuts….but it’s really annoying me. I guess that’s what happens when you…erm…borrow…code.
0
0
Noooooooo! I feel for you. Smithsonian is very froody though. We don’t get it, but we have like a million back issues.
The mags i read are smithsonian back issues, as mentioned above , Time, National Geographic, and…i’m missing something here…what is it? Oh yes. Muse.
0
0
Oh hey USEC. To me you are pretty impressive, you know, being a really old museblogger.
I get mental_floss, which is an adult muse, and I get national geographic and american girl. I also snatch People from my mom.
Watch out. My teacher may be lurking. Mrs. Mosher, you out there??
I think that’s an acceptable link, don’t you think? Plus, it’s funny.

Mental floss is pretty amazingly muselike. ‘Cept more ads of course.
mine friend sarah is almost as obsessed w/mental floss as i am with muse. She has this trivia game from them that’s pretty dang sweet…we have a lot of fun with that, geeks that we are.
Excuse my use of the word “dang” Dang is a word that should never be used. Ever. By anyone. I just couldn’t resist. I gave in, to the Dark Side. *pulls out darth vader breath mask* Squee!
Ok, i’m pretty sure vader never said “squee” in his entire lifetime. Anakin, possibly. Yes, i can see him squee-ing. Especially his younger self. But vader, no.

I’m trying to fathom your secret message tip. I think I’m missing something. I might mess around with secret message attempts again later on…

314- Total OMG. I’ve never actually heard of someone who has read mental_floss. You can’t get it at newsstands, so I had to order it online. If you’ve heard of mental_floss, then you’ve probably heard of bookcrossing. Awesome, isn’t it?

in the recent comments section, you can put your mouse over the name of the person who wrote the comment, and see the name of the thread. but if the threads name contains italics or bold, you can see the little b’s and i’s in angle brackets, which you cannot see anywhere else. if you wrote something else in between the angle brackets, it wouldn’t show up on the thread title anywhere else, and could only be read in the recent comments section. get it now?

Hi, all. I’m about to shut down the May random thread and start one for June. It’s about two hours early on blog time, but it’s already June in some very nice parts of the world. So… away we go.
Yay! Part 4!
I am tired, yet hyper. Trust me, thats a bad combo. Well, time to bounce elsewhere! *bounces off*
Does ANYONE have names for the teachers in my story?
Um.
Mrs. Partridge? Mr. Harrison?
100 Hot Pink Bunny points to whoever can tell me what a torch singer is
GAPA, you do know that I’m not on the Who’s Here list, right? or maybe I just don’t exist…
Carrying the torch today are Ute Lemper, Diana Krall, Fiona Apple, Little Annie and k.d. lang.
go wikipedia!! was that right?
Yep. *rewards points*
Hey, who wants me to post the 3-minute play I just wrote for Drama? Tis really funny.
Guess what it’s called?
Anna and the Beast
draws ya right in, don’t it?
I’m so happy.
My friend purchased Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children for me for my bithday, and it was the best movie ever! -dies-
For the uninformed, it’s a sequel in movie form to the game. And it owns you all. I was like crying it as so GOOD. And SAD. And really smexy.
one thing muse blog should never have: polls on the side
12- Agreed. I hate them.
Dr. Krakowski…my art teacher. Very cool name.
Or Mr. Vayanos….my spanish teacher
or Ms. Maccarelli…my other spanish teacher
SCHOOL ENDS JUNE 8!! MESO HAPPI!! summertime… ladida..
My mom was encouargeing me to hit on my cousins BFF, rather than the guy I ahve liked since Nursery School.
Me: He was… taller… and his voice changed
Mom: i bet he’s handsome
Which is still two weeks from now…
Sure, post your play kiki.
BSR (7),
Didn’t you use to be “shana the”? And before that “crzycowMWAHAHAHAHA”? The early history is a little hard to sort out.
hi yall
GTG ill get kiked out of Gand T if im caught
hola. como estan?
well then me too.
im thinking about buying some manga…but ive nvr read any before.
any suggestions??
so what is one supposed to do on towel day? just carry around a towel? why??
wear one on your head like a turban. if you take a bath/shower dont use a bathrobe use a towel. go to a nice warm beach and lie down… on a towel.
I am very tired. I think I’ll take a nap before my performance tonight..
6- a person who sins a type of love song, right?
23- I will lie on my beach on a towel as soon as I get home from school.
“harr ” * chops down minotar * Narnia *gasp* is the *oh* *Falls over*
I don’t feeeeel like posting my play. Plus, I have more stuff to talk about.
My teacher’s dad died, so she wasn’t here yesterday, and she won’t be here Thusda and Friday. I made her a sympathy card and I gave her some choklit.
Tomorrow is Hobby Day at school. I’m bringing my litttle paper fashions collection.
AAAAAAAH. im sooo tired.
what are paper fashions?
I’m thinking of changing my name…what do you think of Silver Dragon?
Towel Day is supposed to be a holiday celebrating H2G2 and the genius of Douglas Adams. You carry around a towel to support hitchhikers all over the world-you give them rides as well. I’m wearing mine as a turban. I printed it so that the 42 shows when it’s wrapped around my head. Also, I have a ‘VOTE FOR ZAPHOD’ pin and a shirt that says ‘Arthur Dent Hitched Round the Galaxy and I Didn’t Even Get This Lousy T-Shirt’.
Infatuation, not obsession.
(21) It depends on your interests; fantasy, action romance-ish things, etc. And tolerance for violence and the like.
Advent Children CONTINUES to be the best movie ever.
30-I want that button! *cries*
CUATRO!!!!!!!!! HORRAH!!!!!!
Can someone define “Frood” and “froody?” I tried Wiki, and it redirects me to HG2G
Frood: A really amazingly together guy.
Is that right queen j?
GAPAs: I’m so bored. PLEASE make a new thread, anything, PLEASE!
(36) How about getting the muses to come on again? That would be interesting!
I just swam 50 laps… which is a lot for me… now I’m tired wet and chloriney…
*sigh*
I just got back from a performance. I’m tired.
29- sounds good if you want a dragon related name
29- Ooh I like it. But then again, I love any thing where dragons are concerned.
39 (PP)- I
justrecently got back from a band/orchestra concert, in which many parents got to watch Penty dragging around both a cello and a bassoon. Fuuun… BAND GEEKS UNITE!You wouldn’t happen to go to my school, would you? Question: what was the special shiny piece that the wonderful eighth graders played? (band) or what is the violist’s name? (orchestra)
I just noticed what happened to the picture!
It’s happened three times now, and nobody else has mentioned it.
37 yeah!!
29–Silver Dragon sounds great!
eh??
buenos dias!
wow, it relly is a good morning here. its kind of strange having weather like this in MI…
ok, i was on the way to the comp lab when this robot came around the corner! then i saw the guy (i think he was from the tech club) w/ the remote – he was stalking ppl in the hall w/ it.
only 3 more weeks left of skool!
…ooh, now me sees what you mean about the picture!
37–I agree with 46 (KtG). Yeah!
6. Do you have any funny or strange quotes from school that you’d like to share?
ive never read manga & i doubt i ever will. no one in life has such big eyeballs, or- yeah i think the art bugs me.
43- whats dark fantasy? i tend to smash the whole genre together, since i like it so much
Also, Queenie J., may I use your quote that went like:
“I wish I had a group of friends at school. Then again, I wouldn’t know what to do with them. (Put them in a vase? Plug them in to my USB port? Sherry? (Badabing badaboom.) Bake in oven at 350 degrees for ten minutes until golden brown and flaky? Tape them to the fridge? Feed them birdseed?)â€
Oh, and everyone, I’m using false names. Do not fear for your anonymity.
Skipper Nancy, may I use your “Go boil your head” quote? Assuming that you are in middle school?
1. How is popularity determined at your school?
How many friends you have
2. Do you think of yourself as popular? Why or why not?
No, because I don’t go into classes
3. Do the kids in your school gossip? If so, what about?
No
4. What do you think is the number one reason for kids to acquire a boyfriend or girlfriend?
Because they’re in love. Simple as that.
5. How do you think times have changed since your parents were your age?
Peole were less health and safety concious, and played outside more
6. Do you have any funny or strange quotes from school that you’d like to share?
“Thats why its scary”- My crush, when i told him i liked him since preschool
I’m not in middle school. Sorry.
But guess what! I got a new violin — 3/4 size, and in my opinion, a bit overdue. I was supposed to get it a while ago, if I followed the average “kid, age, height” thing. I’m just short.
But anyway, it’s a beautiful violin. The case is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool.
Just had to say it.
1. How is popularity determined at your school?
No idea. I guess the class officers are pretty popular…
2. Do you think of yourself as popular? Why or why not?
No. I don’t think over 15 people know who I am…
3. Do the kids in your school gossip? If so, what about?
Yeah. Hookups and crushes. Yes, I have the misfortune of sitting between the cheerleaders in my one study hall.
4. What do you think is the number one reason for kids to acquire a boyfriend or girlfriend?
Because they want to???
5. How do you think times have changed since your parents were your age?
We have technology! *snorts and pushes up glasses*
6. Do you have any funny or strange quotes from school that you’d like to share?
um….there are a lot of funny ones, but moste of them would be C3Nz0RD! so…yeah
“CHECKMATE! I PWND YOUR KING!!!” -a friend laughing at some random kid…
“Singers and dingers” -a friend in chorus and handbells
“Pretty boy!” – my bus driver, making fun of some annoying little kid
1. How is popularity determined at your school?
Well, its too small for there to be any popular ppls. Except for the 8th graders. Theyre automatically popular
2. Do you think of yourself as popular? Why or why not?
ummmmmmmmm….
3. Do the kids in your school gossip? If so, what about?
Yes. About mean people. And also School Dances. And who danced with who. And Which boy is a perve.
4. What do you think is the number one reason for kids to acquire a boyfriend or girlfriend?
kissing.
5. How do you think times have changed since your parents were your age?
Hmm.. let me count the ways…better history boooks, Rap, com puters, u name it.
6. Do you have any funny or strange quotes from school that you’d like to share?
“THE PANDAS ARE COMING”
“George Bush had my Love Child”
“This is based on reality”
“Dos potos en un calzon”
“Correcting correct grammar”
‘MERDE”
“Je ne voudre pas le boudin Blanc”
“My medulla omblagata is FAB-U-LOUS!”
“Meep”
“Oy vey”
Morgan: *Accepts certificate* *bows*
Jake(boy): Morgan I’m pregnant!
Morgan: *dramatic gasp* But how?
Jake: Well, you know…
Twas hilarious. Tee hee.
cool quiz- most peoplehave the same answers
i cut my finger on a piece of glass. it was so deep i saw the bone. it hurts
yuck. My sister once cut herself on a food processor…
Ow. Do you need stitches? You might if it’s that deep.
hmm, junior high – so glad im out of it!
1. how was popularity determined at your school?
“key words: men of note” – during a concert this year, my choir teacher held up a sign that said this (m of n is the guys choir) + it was supposed to put us in a good mood…
question. has anyone ever been to a chinese website? what is that language they type in??? it just looks like a bunch of
@#!%!#^&$&*^%(*&())&_)(*&)%^*&)_(*)+&%$^#$_%(@#%@$^*&^(_*&(_%
*chop* * hack* *slash* i love Narnia
1. the surfer kids are popular, but they run thru six grades, so.
in my grade (8th) there are just groups. there are the supposed popular group, but alto of them are nice and talk to unpopular people anyway, and there are enough unpopular people that it doesn’t really matter.
Bemused by raven’s dissonance, my soul exclaimed, “I seek intelligence;
I meditated: “Might its utterances summarize of a calamity before?” O, a
sadness was manifest – a sorrowful cry of unrest;
57- that’s so cool that you got a new instrument! Who’s it by?
And I don’t remember anything about eighth grade and I don’t want to remember. sorry.

(hinthintlookatthecalendarsidebarhinthint)
Lesseee…
Per se. I sorta skipped through it fast. ah well.
Talior won Ameriacan Idol! but no one cares
I feel like being abnormal today…

“vidioman: the turtles are in cahoots with the pickles.. I repeat.. the boogie is in the nose! OVER!”
Mustelidae!
(Do please read their warning in the lower section of the page.)
Y’know, some people think of Ph.D. as “Pile high and Deep”.
So… Delete the link.
Anyway:
“A disgustingly fuzzy foul purple oval brilliant basin, with three pink eyes, two grommets, a long rouge bushy tail, a pathetic bag of mixed nuts laced with rolling tobacco, a vile polluted water cooler, and a delightful shrubbery and a tree cut by a sexy herring-wielding crossdressing lumberjack with an axe made of cheese, with a pet cat named Ms. Princess-Scrumpcious Poodleschnootzie III esquire and a pet toaster, as well as three large pink zebras.”
Feel free to add on.
i am quite bored right now. but its nice having 1st hr free now.
it feels like summer today…
well, i dont have anything to ramble about, so i shall leave.
in case anyone cares.
*sniffle*
jk.

Did you know that boheimian raphsody is about AIDS?
I don’t see how it could be. Queen released it in 1975, before anyone was aware of AIDS.
Wow, intyresting. My bro is obsessed with Queen. He likes Flash best. Didn’t Freddie Mercury have AIDS?

Freddie Mercury died of AIDS. “Bohemian Rhapsody” is Mercury fooling around with operatic music. It was also an accidental hit, and one great number.

Em: Standardized tests are a breeze. It’s normal homework that gets on my nerves.
I live in New York. NOT THE CITY, the state.
Happy towel day tous le monde!
And guess what….
THE SKIPPER IS FREE!! FREE FREE FREE!!!!!
Standardized tests are boring and tedious.

oopz. Yeah, I can see why you snipped it.
ANYway I have a lot to do to day, but I can’t do anything until my sister wakes up because I’ll have to make a lot of noise and if I wake her up she’ll be mad.
I don’t know. I like smileys.

Just kidding. That was me, impersonating the GAPA. Tee hee. Bog the Blog…that sounds cool. Bogbloggoggobbobgog…*wanders off humming*
120- Was it? I was going to get that book…..must get to B&N…but the closest one is located in an annoying town. Which is only annoying because no one pronounces its name properly. I probably can’t paste it.

mrahr to the stupid bus…
my bus was 45 minutes
this afternoon.45 minutes!!! and it just had to be late on senior skip day, so i couldnt go ask any of the seniors i know for a ride!guess what? little green army guys are invading my skool! im not kidding! someone (my friend knows this certain someone, but i dont) started putting little green army guys around the skool last week…ive seen them on the stall dividers in the bathroom, on window sills, on door jambs…& now some of my friends & i have decided to become followers of this person…we could only had one army guy today, but im going to see if my LB has any he doesnt want this weekend…this is going to be fun…
My favorite Vivian Vande Velde book is Heir Apparent.
Green army guys, eh? Sounds like more fun than my school. The teachers’ idea of fun is canceling our only free period in the entire week for a Memorial Day assembly and a meeting of the grade. YUK!!
Our bus takes about an hour..and in a car it only takes 15 minutes!!!!
I like Heir Apparent. It is a Good book.
129- am going to do that next year.
And this is why I don’t take the bus… For some reason, I go to a magnet school that’s across town from where I live, so the bus takes about three hours to get from school to my house.
Ha! we had a beach day today and it was really fun, but my feet are covered in blood blisters… gross.
My bus ride
iswas 30 min. We 8th graders owned the back of the bus, but the 7th graders were always mingling with us and taking our seats. Next year I will be a freshie and will be back at the bottom of the food chain.I feel so guilty… I lost one of my mums earings!!!
135: Jadestone, so far Robert has made up the names for the monthly threads. I feel a little guilty about not helping. But I think he likes it so I don’t feel too bad.
127: Quite so. Now I can zap my own posts and save the GAPAs the troble.

Whenever we go up to northern MI, there’s some sort of story about the lake having huge chunks of ice in it.
I swear, whenever I try to post with this cool MBlogname, it takes longer to show up. And I know that this will show up at the same time as the other one I did, but I wanted the world to know in an interesting time.
let’s see how far I can get this:

Morphing into Silver Dragon…
Yay!!! I have a new name!!!
Because were all going through the I-am-going-to-impersonate-the-GAPA-and-see-if-they-notice phase.
There already is a choklit thread
https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=178
I’m sorry, I have a glitch in my computer which disables any font changes, such as italics and green.
Anyway, all posts with the word pie in it will now be deleted because some of the adult populaton of Museblog are petitioning to get rid of pieing. Sorry.
Hey, can we have another “Random Acts of wanton Lunacy” thread?
WILL EVERYONE PLEASE REPORT TO THE WRITING 2006 V. 3 THREAD AND CHECK OUT POST 64? THANK YOU.
*raises hand*
209-tanks, i shall.
Yes, Proboards, and it’s called
[Ebeth, I’m sorry. I deleted the info about your forum because of my pathological fear of stalkers. — Rosanne]
Today, it was hotter in Chicago than it was in both Phoenix and Miami. I did not appreciate this development of events. I have heat rash, too, which only contributed to my enthusiasm.
Going to the Writing thread right now. And while we’re at it, could somebody please check out the RRR? Xie xie.
212 (DY)- No, it’s ‘solstice.’ Actually, it’s ‘pqx,’ but the rest of the world does not understand this important fact of life. How sad.
PIG LATIN PEOPLE! PIG LATIN!!!
*heyperventilates*
OK.
Aaaaaaaaaaand I got to go help mum with el dishes.
#219: ouch. break out the motrin.
what a day. this evening i went w/ my friend to see the da vinci code – v good movie! then we were kinda bored – since we werent being picked up until eleven – so we went across the street from the mall – to toys r us! hehe, that was fun. we found a mad libs book & started doing a mad lib about guys – apparently, i want a guy with a chunky voice, who will hold my tibia when we cross the street together. haha, wish i could remember the rest of that…
then my friend found a frog by this little fake river thingie near the parking lot. she immiediately fell in love…and almost fell into the river while attempting to kiss it. hehe, it was an incredibly cute frog though. we ended up naming him before letting him go – he now possesses the name lief erikkson! purty schweet name for a frog…
oh, shut up.
and i bought the first issue thingie of fruits basket (anime). my friend said it was a good series
My alter ego has returned from an extended vactation.
Fruits Basket is such a good series! Its hilarious!
Oh, to get technical, manga are the graphic novels; anime are the cartoons.
We still have skool, but we have a three-day weekend. And once again, I am procrastinating on my book report…
Only eight more days of skool.
My friend and I made a CM fanclub on dA yesterday. We can’t really figure it out…..but we’re quite pathetic anyway. So, here goes: Google “Criminal Minds CBS” and click on the first link to get your local listings. BEST SHOW EVER.
106 degrees!!!!!! Where do you people live?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?
We’ve barely made it past 50 degree weather all week!
*raises hand*
I need more books in my house. I have read every book in my room at least twice, every book in my brother’s room at least twice, and every issue of Muse at least three times. I have sunk to reading the magazines of the rest of my family, such as Time, FamilyFun, National Geographic, Ranger Rick, and even Sports Illustrated once. I have read half of the Young Adult books in the school library and a quarter of them in the public library. Mrahr.
PA? It’s pretty hot here, too….I was outside less than ten minutes today and my arms are still neon red…
look at these cool websites:

I have no idea what that is, just click on iit.
i typed some thing 2 hours ago,, and i still have the wimpy Your comment is awaiting moderation. sign. the GAPAS must be on a REALLY long lunch break or something.
Pah! 90 is nothing! 90 is nice! I go for leasurely strolls if it’s and remark on the pleasantness of the weather if it’s 90!
Hmm. Anyway. I envy all you 50 degree people.
241-Email.
240-*sigh*
239-It’s not. It’s just the html or whatev. Same thing that makes it green makes it a link.
234-I feel for you. Have you raided your parents’ bookshelves yet? I remember in mebbe 4th grade i had nuttin to read, but i didn’t read adult books cuz i thought they’d be incredibly boring. Then one day i cracked and got so bored, so i raided dad’s shelf. Turning point of my life, that. *reminisces happily* Half the books in my shelf now belong to somebody else.
lol
Hello!!!
[hee hee. I know everything!!! – Admin.]
[The above message is from Purple Panda, not an Admin. One thing we DO know is we don’t know everything. — Rosanne]
excuse you GAPA- I believe that my birthday is June 29 (1993) and it is not on the dates to remember! what an outrage… cough cough… I’m sure that the next time Iook it will be there… coughs more…
*coughs even more*
even though I really can’t cough right now because I lost my voice…
I’m changing my email
In 243 I found “happy” but not the rest
Hi!!!!

-_- Must we continue to impersonate the GAPAs? It’s like a felony or something in certain states. xD
I have homework. Bye then.
I’m trying to read/type sideways. As well as one-handed. Most difficult. Why, i have no idea. Because i;m too lazy to get up i guess…although this is actually more difficult…*sigh* You can’t win. Life. Don’t talk yo me about life.
*to me, not uo me
Arr! **to me, not yo me, not *to me, not uo me.
I’m done… *sits up*
*raises hand*
IMPORTANT QUESTION: Who hwere reads the warriors books by Erin Hunter? I found a cool RPG for them. If people answer this I will find some way to post it.
yeah…. How do people get their birthdays there?
&heart;
yea!
Brave Sir Robin, my b-day is on the 20th and i don’t think it is up there yet because it’s not really that close to our birthdays! i mean, it’s still MAY… not JUNE…
darn it!
♥
219-*raises hand* Night Watch may just be the best book ever. [Obvisously, excluding HDM-Not just Robert but also every other person on the face of the palnet]
261-yesss, it is so is a July birthday
263-The spelling errors pretty much ruined it for you. Besides, HDM are certainly not the best books ever. Not even close. Sorry.
I hate heat. Grr.
*melts*
Well, Ebeth, the heat’s only going to worsen, with Global Warming and everything. If I were you, I would invest in sunscreen companies.
Eh, HDM, if we’re talking about the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman (think that’s his name), those books are pretty good.
However, many others are better.
THF has read Warriors…she’s obsessed with the books.
I like HDM and think they rank up with the other “really good books” namely A Wrinkle in Time, The Giver and so forth. I don’t think any books are the best books ever.
HDM is excellent. better than the giver and WT, both of which were only ok. well, actually, the giver was pretty good.
(259) I’m on three, one sort of, one not really, and the other A LOT. So to answer your questions, I read Warriors. :3 What’s the forum called? I could probably find it; I know them pretty well.
Kali Δ (260),
Just tell us when your birthday is and we’ll put it on the calendar. If you tell us your favorite color, we’ll include that info too so MuseBloggers can wear it in honor of the glorious occasion.
SN (274),
The deterioration of the ozone layer is a separate problem. It allows more ultraviolet light through the atmosphere.
Global warming (which has been measured) appears to be connected with the buildup of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere (which has also been measured). Carbon dioxide traps heat in the atmosphere.
Woops so much for knowing what I’m talking about. Thanks Robert.
ahh! Global Warming!
*hides*
269- What does THF stand for again? There are so may people here now it’s hard to keep track…
273- [First of all, I would like to tell the GAPA that this is a wesite that you re-type into the little box thingy at the top, and not a link.] You can find it at

The end.
269–I’m not obsessed with the books, I just really like them. As a friend of mine used to say:
“Obsessed, yes. Crazy, no.”
Well, I’m neither!
259– I know the books. I love them.
Ick. I Wikied global warming (I figured I should after pubicly displaying my ignorance inpost 274). I understand it now, though. And I feel kinda sick. Mmm.
GO MUSERS!
As such, everyone please try and see An Inconvenient Truth If you don’t already know, it’s a scientific (OMGZNOWAI!!!!1111) documentary on global warming and the like. There is no reason not to see this.
Does anyone have some memorization tricks? I have to memorize bunches of stuff. u.u

284- Yes! It sounds like we’re getting somewhere!
In responce to 279- [Nope. –Admin.]
I wonder if the’ll let me post that.
55- Sure. For, as Queenie said, good, not evil.
280- He. Heehee. Hmm. Haha.
284- Hiya Cedar. Thats sounds phantastique!
Queenie, Haskamir sounds like an infinitely froody place. A lot more interesing than Europa and less problematic than Ganymede.
will someone tell a poor new muser what “Wish I May, Wish I Might: Part 4” is about?
it’s what we call a random thread. A thread, that is, to be random on. Just post about anything you like.
It’s called “Wish I May, Wish I might”, because random threads are monthly things, so the GAPA always incorporate the name of the month into the title of the thread. Like our March random thread was Forwaaaaaaard March! and April was April Foolery.
Children. The admins will not allow links. Stop trying. >.>
It’s the monthly/weeklysincewepostsomuch random thread.
it is now quater till 2 am.
i am playing on an RPG, have ben since 10 :>
3 more days of skool
#280: lol!
#284: schweet!
285-Axa- I usually just read it over and over. Or write it over and over. Or say it over and over. The trick for me is repetition.
https://musefanpage.com/
I did it!
Noooooooo! I feel for you. Smithsonian is very froody though. We don’t get it, but we have like a million back issues.
The mags i read are smithsonian back issues, as mentioned above
, Time, National Geographic, and…i’m missing something here…what is it? Oh yes. Muse.
Look at this. Go to http://www.larrygonick.com/html/pub/jus.html.
Then wait. Something really funny will happen.
I think that’s an acceptable link, don’t you think? Plus, it’s funny.
The only other magazine that I get an read regularly is Science News…sometimes I browse The Economist, too though. I like Science News because it comes in short articles, so I can get through a whole one over breakfast.
280- BSR- is it okay if I print out your really funny story and mail it to my friend?? Actually i already did it but oh well, it doesn’t seem to be copyrighted!!
i get cicada and muse. cicada is neat b/c each issue is relly more of a book than a magazine.
bleh. i wouldnt have gone to skool today, except that there was a big pre-exam thingie in govt. yeah, im sick again. like, elevated-body-temp sick – which literally hasnt happened to me since 6th grade – guess im one of those ppl who almost never (technically) gets sick.
actually, im rather enjoying this – for once my laziness can be justified!
(308) Hehe. Kokopelli pwns.
Ha, that Larry Gonick, he’s such a funny guy. Always making such wise cracks. He even suggested that the Muses don’t exist! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *wipes away tear of laughter*. mmmm… such a funny man..
HI!
DUUUUDE! Squee-ing vader! That’s my new weapon of torture. *chuckles evilly*
Grant O. Why are they refusing? Do they say you’re too old?
robert dude, or rosanne, if you want to send secret messages to musers you can type things in the titles of threads between angle brackets, which will be able to be read if someone puts her cursor over the the name in a comment posted on that thread in the recent posts section.
i meant the recent comments section.
did anyone read the time article about the congo?
cicada is a really cool mag. me and my friend go through and rate the stories…
Hmm…
Random test of something i don’t understand at all. Perfect.
What i do best.
All in an unceasing effort to send secret messages to nobody in particular. I wish you could do font colours on here, that would make it so easy…*gazes wistfully into space, pondering the joys of infuriating people* Ah well.
311- Yeah, I get that too!
hey peoples! It’s time for…. *drumroll*
Em Is Doing Her Homework At The last Minute Time!!!
(gee, now i feel like sergeant dorfl)
first of all, it’s on The Pearl!!!! i mean, that book is only ninety pages long! books should be 500-600 pages long and hardback without shiny or iridescent covers!
but i digress (i love that word)
and it’s such a moronic story. this has got to be the stupidest book yet, and the stupid teacher never actually gets to a Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s court, which is long and funny and by mark twain and really good except for everybody dying in the end.
but i still have to write that stupid essay test. hraka*.
close your eyes and surrender to your dark mm-mm … close your eyes and let your spirit start to sooooar. and you’ll live as you’ve never lived before…. let your mind start to journey to a strange new world, leave all thoughts of the life you lived before…**
dang guy sings to fast.
*s***
**Music of the Night. Andrew Lloyd Weber.
ok, im starting NOW. time me.
Em (316),
I’m trying to fathom your secret message tip.
KTG, do you mean Koko pieing Urania?
in the recent comments section, you can put your mouse over the name of the person who wrote the comment, and see the name of the thread. but if the threads name contains italics or bold, you can see the little b’s and i’s in angle brackets, which you cannot see anywhere else. if you wrote something else in between the angle brackets, it wouldn’t show up on the thread title anywhere else, and could only be read in the recent comments section. get it now?
I see what you mean. I’ll try it!
Oh my. It works! Thanks, Em, for expanding my GAPA powers.
yes,but how do you know anyone will read them?
peoples, i just took an hour to look at terry pratchett’s site with my mom. it was awesome!
Hi, all. I’m about to shut down the May random thread and start one for June. It’s about two hours early on blog time, but it’s already June in some very nice parts of the world. So… away we go.
