Musers Unaware

KaiYves asked:

“Does anyone think it would be a good idea to award some kind of annual “Muser Unaware” awards to people or organizations outside of the blog who have promoted Musery in their own, unintentional way?”

We agree with Errata: why stop there? Use this thread to recognize inadvertent agents of Muserliness.

I’m confused. Is this like the Illumiminati or not? I do have a sneaky act of kindness to share if it is. And it was a very sneaky, very fun, and hopefully very kind one.

    4- Seconded!

I’ll recommend Phil Plait, the creator of Bad Astronomy (Both the book and the website) and Chris and Blair of the NASA Edge podcast, for being informative, scientific, and absolutely, hilariously, random.

I would like to acknowledge a boy at my school who frequently wears “I like pie” T-shirts, along with the rest of the fifth grade and their pie mania. Only one of them is a Muser, at least to my knowledge.

I love when I get muser vibes off people. I don’t know any musers IRL, so it’s both fun and frustrating to have the overwhelming sense that someone is muserly.

The Ontario Science Centre should definetly be awarded the muserly award.

Hmmm…How about OMSI, in Portland (Oregon)? It’s all sciency and stuff, my sis drags me there pretty much everytime we’re in that general area visiting relatives. As unMuserly as it sounds, I usually vote for the zoo–for whatever reason, I always come down with a headache at OMSI, perhaps because we somehow seem to always miss lunch……

Although, even though i won’t admit it to my sis, it is fun. OMSI, not the headache.

A staff member at Camp Ouareau, Emilie T., who is fully one of my favorite people ever because she’s just so cool. She is…like…a big, huge packet of French-speaking craziness. Once, as a prank at camp, someone strung all these bras on the flagpole and as we were all staring at it in stupefaction, she screamed “C’EST MA BRASSIERE!” and ran up to the flagpole and stared at it. Only one funny incident I can remember right now. you’d like her.

My friend is very obsessed with pie. She’s got pie t-shirts and pie shoes, even a pie purse!! She even signed all the yearbooks last year with “REMEMBER: PIE.” I’m pretty sure she’s never heard of Muse, but she would definitely count as a Muser at heart. (She’s crazy enough to be one, at least…)

Today, on Facebook, I glanced at the list of friends’ birthdays, and noticed today was the birthday of a certain muser (not that I would ever friend a muser I don’t know, of course ;) ) and clicked on her name so I could go pie her. When I got to her page, I noticed “hpbday” at the end of the URL. For a moment I thought this might be her facebook username, but that didn’t make a lot of sense, and I realized it was simply because I had come to her page from the birthday link. The silly facebook people must have thought they were simply abbreviating “happy birthday.” But we all know it actually said “hot pink bunny day.” :D

There was a youtube video I saw recently called “I Like Pie”. It featured someone, sounding a little younger than myself, doing a voice-over for a stream of pictures of pie. Real pie, drawn pie, animated pie, and number pi. It was weird because the person used the same terminology I would have, and sounded a bit like I do when I record my voice on my cell phone. Anyway, very Muserly!
