From my morning Web surfing:
(1) I haven’t read it yet, but the University of Florida has started publishing still another arts magazine called Muse, in addition to all the ones listed on the Fan Page.
(2) Meanwhile, you can read articles from the real thing online at Looksmart High School–a good way to share the magazine without giving away your own treasured copies. No cartoons there, though.

hmph. Their Muse isn’t as good as our Muse.
Noooooo! Blasphemy! THe intruder must be destroyed! Ready the Photon Torpedos, Spock!
by the way, what would your favorite issue of Muse be? For instance, if you were trying to persuade someone that they absolutely had to get this, what issue would you show them?
The one I saw first: with the flea on it. I remember when my grandma gave it to me vividly. Or the black holes. – agent Darkwing
P.S.- I am a very, very old reader. I think I read every Muse that ever existed in the library, and almost every one by subscription.
I probably shouldn’t play favorites, but I liked the November/December 2003 “Lord of the Rings” issue. IMHO, the extended parody (“Lard of the Rings”) is the funniest thing Larry Gonick has drawn for the magazine.
I loved that parody! It was my favorite thing in that issue, and in probably a lot of the other issues too..
My first issue was the one on chess.
By the way Phoenix, did you no the actor who plays spock is Jewish?
Nope! When my brother was born his head got stuck in the birth canal, and it squished his ears to points. There is a Jewish tradition not to name your son untill his Brit Milah (circumsision), eight days after his birth, so we called him Mister Spock untill then.
Gah! I’m all… un-Jewishful! (is left out)
Whatev.
I feel your pain, Morbid. All the way.
I liked Harvington Hall. A lot. Spent the next three days calling everyone either John or Humphrey.
Blimey, another fan. Ta likewise, your grace. I take it you never got as far as panelling a cat?
You’ll be pleased to hear that there’s another Baker production approaching publication, and a couple more in the pipeline.
I liked the Tudor music artical.. and the one about the napkin.
