There’s a good one at How Stuff Works. Might be fun to find out just how much of that code works in MuseBlog comments. Post your experiments here, please, so we can all see. (Don’t forget to explain what you’re trying to do so that we’ll know what was supposed to happen in case it fizzles.)

I’ll start by seeing if I can use the “u” tag to underline this text.
Nope, guess not. OK, now I’ll try to use “hr” to make a horizontal rule:
Hm. When they say “some HTML allowed,” they really do seem to mean “not enough to have very much fun with.” Anybody else want to try?
I suspect it’s only the very short list under this comment box. If I’m wrong, this message will be cerulean, my favorite color
this is supposed to be a marquee, you know one of those things that scrolls across whatever it happens to be scrolling across
Nothing is working! Too bad. Well, let’s see what the “blockquote cite” command does.
Hm. I put some text in the quotation marks after the “blockquote cite” and the equal sign, and it disappeared. Maybe I was using it wrong.
OK, this time I’m trying “blockquote” and “slash-blockquote” without the “cite=”. Here goes…
Good! Now we know how to indent text.
I’m not allowed to follow links, and I don’t know how to use code. Please help, Mr. Administrator.
That link there really looks like a scam. O.o
Axa: Yep. Better safe than sorry. Out it goes!
Phoenix: We’re talking about HTML code (for “Hypertext Markup Language”), little commands or “tags” that you can insert into your text to make some letters italic (slanted, like all my comments) or boldface or
crossed out. You can use more complicated ones to turn words into links to other Web pages or e-mail addresses, but those wouldn’t interest you. HTML tags are not essential, but the basic ones are easy to do and can make your comments more expressive. For example, one command that makes italics is just the letter “i”; you put it in angle brackets (<>) at the beginning of the text you want to italicize, and at the end you type the same thing, only with a slash (/) in front of the “i”. For boldface the starting and ending commands are “b” and “/b” (each again in angle brackets). For crossing out, the commands are “strike” and “/strike”. I’m sure other MuseBloggers will be happy to show you some HTML tricks. We’re rapidly determining that most of them (including the ones for turning text different colors) don’t work in comments, though.
Thankee koindly, zurr Administraturr. My dad used to be a programmer; he luckily quit right before the market crash, but he wont teach me ’till I complete my Algebra. (arabic; comes from the name Al-Mozari {how do you write in Arabic, Mr. Administrator?} he invented it; called two forms of it ‘Al-Jabbr” (breaking apart) and ‘Al-Muktada’ (fitting together). Just a point of intrest.

Twas brillig, and the slithy toves…
My mom always says that…I read the actual poem and it made no sense. I always thought they were saying “toads”!
Hmmm… wonder what happens if…:
OK, if this doesn’t show up, it was a link to the front page.
You did it–a link! Nice work, Agent TOPFOT!
“Brillig” test found:
The underline code (carrot:u:carrot/carrot:slash:u:carrot)
doesn’t work. It’s for the second line.
But the rest do. Is it possible to add a way for marquee? You know, the scrolls across the page? If we promise to not use it too much?
I want to put my font in red. Fits, ya’know? Phoenix and all that?
Phoenix,
There’s no way to do that with the limited HTML code the blog software allows, but I may be able to add colors and other fun features later in the year. Patience, please.

Yeah… I miss your orange from the GABOOMBA days, Robert…
I can still turn orange, with a little extra effort. Here you go, for old times’ sake.
Italic should work.

grr… another color than….
did it work?
is my text colored?
is my font green, cause i wouldn’t know
is my font the right color?
Sorry! Colors don’t work. The way some people make their text green is by turning it into a link to nowhere. That’s really more trouble than it’s worth, though.
i know THAT, but what about the OTHER colors?!?!?!?!?!?
In a word, nope.
how do you do links? somebody answer…even though they’re not allowed, i still want to know! it might be useful other places around the internet too…
A link goes like this:
(a href=”web_address_in_quotation_marks”)text_text_text(/a)
only with angle brackets (“less than” and “greater than” signs) instead of parentheses.
what’s_the_text?
that should bring you to the fan page…
yesssssssssssss! thank you GAPA!!!

*falls into extreme depression*
21: How did you turn your text orange?
I have come to take over the world!!!!!!!!!!What happened to my posts? Were they deemed pointless and deleted? I thought pointlessness was sort of the point of this thread…
Did it work? /
