How do you change your picture?
Go to Gravatar:com and get an account there. Make sure you use the same email address there as you use here, otherwise it won’t work. Once you’ve done that and chosen your picture and whatnot, clear your browser’s cache to (hopefully) see your new picture here on MuseBlog.

How long does it usually take for an account to get approved? I’ve had mine for a while but I still can’t log in.

What sort of account? You can’t get a paleophyte account until you’ve been here six months, but you can get a chess account any time.
Where it says “Log in” at the top of the screen.
That applies only if you have a chess or paleophyte account. Nothing else on MuseBlog requires you to register or log in.
What if you are switching computers? If you use the same username and email will you get your picture?
Gravatar pictures are determined by email address. The computer doesn’t matter.

Why do you have to log in when you become a….paleophyte (semi-noob?) I’ve been here two years and have never had to log in.
Because there are some paleophyte private threads that the others can’t see, as some of the “older” MBers felt a little irritated by the fast pace and overwhelmed by the numerous neophytes. You don’t have to, but you can only see those threads if you’re logged into your account, which you only get after 6 months.
Or if you play chess.

Just read the description at the top of whatever thread you choose to post on, and you should be good.
It’s a good idea to read the most recent twenty or so posts of a thread, too.
