(10 & 12) If your library doesn’t have the book, go to a librarian and ask for it. Many libraries are very willing to purchase books requested by patrons, especially if the publication date is within the past few years.
I once asked about getting a book through interlibrary loan, but the librarian suggested writing up a purchase request instead. Since I was looking for an academic book by a small publisher outside the library’s usual purview, she cautioned me not to be too optimistic. Nevertheless, several weeks later I received notice the book was now available. So, you never know.

My library doesn’t have attack of the smart pies, but i do so it’s all good. They do however, have CHOTU volumes 1 and 2, requested by moi (:D) and are getting CHOTMW without request from moi. So see, they be smarteth enough to figure out what people like.
They also got the whole belgariad series for me. And Enthusiasm, Pollyhymnia’s flamablamablous book.
my library so kewl, you can request stuff online. And reserve stuff too. And it’s right down the street so i can see if something’s available and then pick it up five minutes later. or you know what’s really useful, lb and i go on dad’s card and reserve movies and then he just picks them up on the way home from work. Or other fun things like that…
I want to read the CGTG. genetics=pwnage. physics, not so much. i guess since it’s larry g it’d probably mildy interesting (and hilariously funny). but genetics are much kewler.
I got AOTSP. I didn’t check for any of the CHs. I did get the first book of the Belgariad , though.

My great-great-great (great?) uncle has his own wikipedia page. It was really cool, I found it when doing this family tree thing.
I believe my librarians get their daily kick out of promising to order/borrow something and then not doing it. I have asked for the 2, 4, and 5th books in a series of which I have read the 1st, 3, 6,7 and own the 11. Very annoying, plus leaves huge plotline gaps. I have asked several times over the span of several months, might I add. (grinds teeth and makes low growl)
I haven’t been able to beg, borrow, steal, sneak, pinch, buy, or even find a copy of any of the Gonick books. Quite sad.
Actually, it’s not that much of a wonder since I’ve been mortally afraid of going up to the upper floors of the library ever since I got my foot stuck in the spaces between the stairs of the one in Charlottestown and had to get pulled out by four librarians, who couldn’t stop laughing. I still have the scars. I was seven or eight at the time and it’s burned in my memory.

I have CHOTU 1 and 2, cartoon environment, cartoon America (or government. I don’t remember what it was called.), and Attack of the Smart Pies. I lurved them all except for CH America/government.
Must add the genetics one to my Chrimbo list, which is divided into two categories: Books and Not Books. The only thing under Not Books is money.
