((For all who are newcomers or just returning, here is what is going on right now:
Stymphalian birds are attacking the academy left and right, and the students and teachers are trying to fight them off. These birds are huge, man-eating, and made of metal and bronze so that they are hard to kill.
GENERAL CONSENSUS ABOUT PLOT UNTIL THIS POINT:
It’s NOT time for an epic battle yet. This could be something to try our strengths. The first “quest” or task after the birds seems to be option #1:
1# Mr Fenlauten is possessed by an old, evil *insert mythology here* spirit of chaos/destruction/killing all demigods and sends everyone on a camping trip, where most get killed by monsters (advantage- plenty of heroic deaths). Of course, the camping trip is announced officially, so they have to find out whodunit and who sent the evil spirit, e.t.c…
diagnostic.
When the epic battle DOES come, it will have something to do with the COTD and gathering souls.
Everyone likes the idea of FADING (a character whom we no longer need fading innocently into the background, not being RP-ed very much at all, etc.). People with 3 or more characters are going to have to kill off or fade their characters as cleanly and quickly as possible to reduce the staggering character count.
FROM THIS POINT, it is my understanding that NO NEW CHARACTERS WILL BE MADE OR INTRODUCED, unless the character is a newcomer from a player who has NO characters or an established player who has only ONE character.))
((Can someone write me in once the action dies down? I’m not quite sure how to get myself in…))
(( Oi! New thread! w00T! *HAPPY DANCE*))
…..
((Augh. sorry for PoPo. Mind is completly blank. will RP later.))
I created a character on the first thread, then never RP’d. I pasted in her profile-thingy:
Name: Irene
Parent: Iris, goddess of the rainbow *checks to make sure that’s not taken*
Appearance: Average height, blue eyes, curly blonde hair
Personality: Cheerful, nice
Background: Irene was sent to the school by her dad after monsters attack her at her latest school. She didn’t know about the gods yet, but she knew there was something he wasn’t telling her. So she goes to Bermuda and finds the school (do we have a name for it yet? *sees posts about “Antediluvian Academy”* Yes, we do.) She is ambushed by a smallish monster outside of the school’s protective boundaries, but a satyr who works at the camp rescues her, after Irene inadvertently uses her powers to repel the monster. She’s taken to the school, where the teachers begin explaining everything.
Anything that doesn’t dovetail with the facts of the school so far?
((Good night Irene. Good Ni-i-ight. I’ll see you in my dreams. LOL))
((4 – please try to use double parenthesis around information that’s not a part of the RPG. Thanks! New thread!))
CLEE
Just as we were about to start a worksheet in Astronomy (Bo-ring!) a loud crash sounded from outside. The entire class jumped in surprise just in time to see the most hideous bird – which was HUGE – slash through a piece of glass in the tower.
“Watch out!” Someone screamed .
“HELP!” Another person wailed. I couldn’t tell who said it or where it came from, but I knew I was leaving. I grabbed my Chanel purse, but while I was reaching over I slipped and slid on the floor. My dress tore and split. I could feel blood underneath my knees.
“Run!” The teacher screeched at us. I didn’t need to be told twice. While some of the other students were rushing out of the room, the other (braver) ones stood and fought the gigantic creature. My mind was spinning as I stood up and made another attempt to grab my purse. I couldn’t lose it!
“Clee, GO!” I heard someone yell faintly in the background.
“I need my purse!!!!!!!!!!” I wailed back. All of a sudden I slipped again. The bird was an inch away from my dress. I couldn’t let it rip again. Dress vs. Purse?
I decided to go with dress so I stood up and rushed out into the hallway. The entire school was in complete chaos and disarray.
((Oh, wow. Clee is pathetic! I mean, come on! “Dress vs. Purse?” That’s really, really dumb. All this is directed at Clee, by the way, not you, starr. I’m pretty sure you agree with me. :D))
((Oh, don’t worry. I did that on purpose. If you think I’m taking her character a little too far, of course I can make her a little sane-r. But I know I’m having a lot of fun with it!))
((No, I love it!
:D))
((Hooray! Thank you, GAPAs!!!!!))
……
((Sorry about the PoPo, I can’t think of anything right now. Rosebud, what are Irene’s powers?))
((She can run fast, I mean not superhuman but quicker than average, sometimes make it rain (not very easily), and is good at communicating/learning other languages. I don’t think I mentioned she likes bright colors, but she does. And no, that’s not a power. :)))
Dr. Korlin:
“Run!” I yelled, as the giant bird smashed through the classroom window. Most of they obeyed, but a few who were braver stayed to fight.
I focused on a piece of wreckage and levitated it into the air, until it was over the bird’s head.
“Stand back!” I shouted, and let it fall.
((Can someone pu-leeeeeeease write me in after the action dies down??))
((I’m sure we can. I’ll do it later, if nobody else volunteers.))
((Just to clarify this next part, Hyacinth is not at the school yet. She’s getting there, though.))
Hyacinth
I woke up, sore again. Just great that my parent’s care had broken down, and they had decided I could hoof it from here. “Dumb parents,” I thought. “You know they wouldn’t have done this if they didn’t think you would be able to.” came the reply.
“Oh, stop it, Mortalitas. You know what I mean. You have wings, and all I have is feet. Sore, aching feet.”
“Well, yes. But I am walking, rather than flying.” Mortalitas licked her paw. I sighed. It was impossible to win an argument with her. “Hey, we’re almost there! But, what’s with all the death? Don’t you smell it, Mortalitas?”
“I smell at least two deaths, and something else. Something much more dangerous than anything else. It’s a bird smell.”
“Let’s go!” We ran towards the building.
Halena
((Um, I don’t want to PP Sidra and Terrance any more, so could someone else post? Also, Mikazuki is passed out in the Art room, can someone rescue her?))
Victoria:
I was in the astronomy class when the panic started. Dr Korlin smashed one of the birds, but soon an entire flock broke into Class. One of the birds flew at me. For lack of a better weapon, I threw my astronomy textbook- which I’d already started disliking- at it. The bird cut straight through it with its razor- sharp wings. I yelped and dived under my desk to avoid being decapitated. Enormous monsters with multiple heads were bad enough, but this was just plain unfair. The bird headed straight at me. Feeling slightly stupid but to terrified to care, I opened my mouth and screamed as loud as I could. The bird gave a sort of shudder and veered off, shaving off a table leg and flying right into the Wall. But my relief was Short-lived: it started to wriggle free. I grabbed the table leg like a baseball bat, stood up and turned to face it. The bird wriggled free. I shouted at it at the top of my lungs. It brushed past me and started to flee into the corridor. Yelling triumphantly, I started to give chase. “You’re dead meat!” I bellowed. This was à contest, finally one I could Win.
My vision was blurred in a sudden torrent of blood and I turned to see the shocked face of a daughter of Apollo, a steely feather jutting from her left eye socket. Her attacker crowed, a sickly high pitched screech of victory, and the late healer tumbled to floor. I gritted my teeth, and pushed my unconscious classmate out into the hall I had chosen to barricade. The remains of beds and wooden shelves were piled up in a makeshift shelter. It barely scraped the ceiling, but it would serve a fortification in case the stymphalians chose to change victims.
I sped back into the hospital. The patients were out, but the battle stilled raged on. The girl from the forest dodged past a pair of diving birds and loosed two arrows toward her stunned opponents. The first arrow glanced one of the stymphalian’s metallic feathers, shattering into a cloud of splinters like a bloated water balloon, but the second met its mark, protruding through the winged treachery’s naked neck. But the victory was short lived. The remaining stymphalian was joined by four more flock members and a fifth swooped up from behind the dark haired archer. They ravaged war birds crowed, and without thinking I rushed toward her. My bandaged chest ached in protest even with the magical rendering the now sleeping Egyptian had managed to produce, but there was no time. A score of barb-like feathers erupted from the teeming mass of stymphalians, their high pitched call of vengeance echoing in the white marble chambers.
“Move it,” I shouted to the bedraggled girl. I shouldered into her, knocking her to the floor and gripping her blood stained t-shirt in an effort to roll her out of the way. The feathers became a tangible mist of bronze and steel overhead as we rolled to beneath an empty gurney. I heard a semi audible snap, and silently prayed it was her bow rather than her wrist. Our tumbling ceased, landing in a pool of medicinal ambrosia. Luckily she was beneath me and her black hair took the brunt of the sticky residue. Her purple eyes were momentarily stunned, and she breathed heavily watching the final feathers fall to the floor. “Did anyone ever tell you that you have gorgeous eyes?” I asked.
“Is now really the best time?”
“Probably not.”
I rose, bumping my head on the mattress above me, and helped the girl to her feet. The five birds had turned their attention upon the unconscious Egyptian and the cowering fox girl. Absent-mindedly I tugged at my waist for my wine flask, but the doctors must have removed it. “By the gods, was that really necessary?”I muttered.
Adrian smiled to himself, an evil leer that stemmed from the eminent death and destruction. “My favorite scent,” he said quietly to himself. He strolled down the hallway, out of class and down near Astrology to see how much damage had been done.
“Stymphalian birds,” he said to himself, nodding. “Nice touch, Dad. I like it.”
Suddenly, one of the flock flew towards him, thinking that it could challenge him. “Silly bird,” Adrian muttered. In an instant, one of his hands became a great clawed paw that usually stemmed from Sebak’s body. Today he was too lazy to fully transform, but it did the job. The bird was instantly sliced in half by his long steel claw.
((Hooray for lovesickness! Who’s the daughter of Apollo, though? Halena’s a daughter of Hades.))
Halena
“Is now really the best time?”
“Probably not.”
The boy stood, accidentally bumping his head on the mattress. I looked at my bow, a soggy, broken mess, and abandoned it. My only weapon now was my knife, and I wasn’t trained for it. “Hey!” I yelled at the boy. He was looking down at his belt, mildly surprised. I pointed to a ______-colored flask sitting on the table. “That yours?” He ran over to it. “Do you think you could get the birds lower? I’m Halena, by the way.”
“Terrance. Yes, I could get the birds lower.” He ran zigzags below the birds. Finally, one got fed up and dived for him. He lunged out of the way and I sank my knife into its exposed throat. The bird fell silent, dropping like a stone to the floor. The others exchanged looks. “C’mon!” I shouted. “Who wants more? I got plenty here!” The birds dived again and again, and I took them all down, except for one, who flew off, I guess, to warn the rest of the flock. “And stay out!” I yelled after them. My hair hung limp and soggy from the ambrosia as I sat down on the floor. I took a shuddering breath and looked out at the shelter the boy, Terrance, had built. It was okay, but if the flock decided to go for it, it would never hold. “We–We need to station a guard around the shelter. It won’t hold off a full attack.”
“That is true. I will stay here and keep watch. Circle the school, looking for people still alive enough to stand and fight. Bring them and the others here.”
“Okay, I will.” I left to go scout the school, taking one last backwards glance. Terrance was kind of….nice.
(( I suppose a dark part of me envisioning puff puff’s character, but it is probably just a nurse. P.S. Terrance can fight pretty well so stop making him out to be constantly rescued by Halena ))
((Sorry. I won’t.))
((Sorry that was a bit rude.))
((It’s okay. Also, do you mean that part where he zigzags below the birds and they dive for him? That was to get them lower, because he broke Halena’s bow, remember????? :D))
aww….

Omorose felt herself drowsily awakening on the floor of the hospital room. She guessed that she had used too much of her strength. I’d better work on that, she thought to herself, getting clumsily to her feet. Something wet dripped from her hair, ambrosia, she thought, as she walked out the door, leaning largely on her staff for support. The work of healing others had left her weak and sleepy in turn. She rounded a corner towards the atrium, setting foot on the covered bridge leading from the school to the other side of the lake.
Several students pushed past her, running towards the outside of the school ready to fight the birds coming from the forest. Suddenly, something swept through the air above their heads.
“I found the rest of the flock!” someone yelled.
A huge, massive cloud of silver was covering the sky, over the sun and making the earth dark. Like a great line of bullets, they shot down from the air and began pummeling through the arches on the bridge.
Omorose missed death my inches as someone tackled her to the ground, saving her from a single feather aimed at her forehead.
“You’re really good at getting into trouble!” James shouted over the deafening noise. “Come on!” he grabbed her hand tightly, and together they began a fast dash across the bridge to safety. They went as hard and fast as they could, Omorose barely able to stand. Just as they were about to reach the other side, James let out a cry of pain: a feather had struck into his right shoulder. He tumbled to his knees.
“Get up!” Omorose cried, her eyes widening. “Hurry! Please, let’s go!” She grabbed his arm and tried to drag him across. It took effort, which she had little of, but she was able to drag him into the atrium, where the birds were slowly flocking.
Act fast, she thought to herself. She pulled the feather from his arm with one quick movement. James let out a sharp cry of pain, but before he could feel anything else, she stuck the pinnacle of the staff into the hole on his arm and muttered a spell.
Ra, god of the sky, grant upon me the favor to heal with the power of your majesty!
And instantly, the hole began to cover itself with fresh new skin. A bit of color returned to his face. Omorose smiled, feeling more exhausted than ever. But she couldn’t fall back asleep now. There was a battle to complete.
“What should we do now?” she asked as James got to his feet.
Fatima and Felina cautiously peeked around the deserted corner.
“Hmm. The birds seems to have disappeared,” Felina commented airily. The wound on her arm seemed to be paining her even more, and she winced when Fatima accidently bumped against her.
“Yeah, I guess so,” Fatima replied, relieved. She walked less cautiously now, wandering the hallways.
“Hey, Felina, you know where the nurse is?” Fatima turned. There Felina stood, mouth agape at a huge bird. Fatima gasped, and the bird swiveled its head towards her. Menacingly with a smooth chink , the bird spread out its wings.
“Horus.” Fatima thought. “Dad? DAD!” The bird was advancing now, and Felina and Fatima were stuck.
“ demons of the sky….noise….run ” Fatima heard. She gulped.
“FELINA!” she shrieked. “RUN UNDER IT’S WINGS!”
Ingrid/Alec
The stymphalian flock had seemed to dissipate, trying to avoid the hail.
“Thank heavens,” Alec said, slumping to the ground. He was pale and clammy. Ingrid still watched the skies.
“Alec. Alec, Alec, Alec!” She whispered, tugging on his sleeve. He turned and saw the rest of the flock, flying towards the school. He muttered something, which sounded like a curse. An immense three-pronged lightning bolt shot from the sky, killing many of the birds, and Alec collapsed. Some of the birds noticed them on the ground and started to fly lazily over to them.
“If I could only drown them,” she thought, completely terrified. “But I need water…” They were coming closer. Suddenly, she was aware of the water in the humid air around her. A plan came together in a flash, and she directed the water at the oncoming birds. It smothered them, cutting off their oxygen. They dropped to the ground.
Siriana
The battle raged around her, but she felt completely powerless to do anything. She managed to fend off a couple birds with her sword, but that was it. Her power, suppressed for a long time, had been bouncing around inside her, and now it wanted out. But there is nothing I can do, she thought. Suddenly, she remembered the voice of her seventh-grade biology teacher. Atoms are made of three different charged particles: electrons, which are negatively charged, neutrons, which have no charge, and protons, which have a positive charge. She slammed the birds coming at her with her power, taking away the electricity that held their atoms and molecules together. The birds fell into, well, she didn’t know what, some kind of dust. Completely awed and sickened at this new capacity, she destroyed the rest of the birds in the room. There were a few people unconscious on the floor–they hadn’t seen anything. That was good. If anyone found out what she could do, she would just become a weapon, and something very much like last summer might happen again.
Maya~
When a few birds landed in the gym, everyone scattered. The basic moves we had just learned weren’t going to do anything to a stymphalian bird, and we were lucky a few people ran in to fight them. I felt a bit wimpy, just running away, but there was nothing I could do. I darted into an alcove by one of the bathrooms, then turned back. What?! I was stunned, frozen in place as I watched a bird advance toward Fatima and Felina. Fatima screamed something, and Felina appeared transfixed.
“Please go away, bird,” I whispered. It turned toward the sound of my voice, and then flashed back, too late. Felina and Fatima had already ran under its wings and were pounding down the hall. The bird turned to follow them, wings scraping against the walls, but the sound of their feet had faded away, and it was distracted by another noise.
((Is that okay? Just ignore it if you’ve got other plans.))
I feel rather annoyed as I pick my way across the damp ground, unusual for me. But the muddy conditions are certainly not very beneficial to my new green hightops, and I still have no idea what this is about, or even if this was the right way; the out-of-the-way place sure didn’t look like the grounds of a school. And of course, I couldn’t be sure that the school was the “safe place” my dad had referred to. The schools I had gone to hadn’t been so safe for me. I still had no idea what had happened at Yansville Institute, but it probably had a lot to do with what was going on now. I smiled as I thought, maybe I’ll make some new friends here, if I am going to go to Antediwhattheheck. I try to remember the name- though I can’t pronounce it- when I nearly run into a sign and then get a visual reminder it’s “ANTEDILUVIAN.” Welcome to our school is below the name in smaller letters. Not far after is the school. “Whoa,” I breath. “Big.” Then I notice the smashed in windows. One nanosecond later, I notice there’s something grey in the sky, and it’s not a cloud. With a “Caw!” the flock of birds, as I now see it is, swoops down at me. The largest one, in front, has a wicked gleam in its- red?!?- eye. Oh crap, I think.
The demonic bird lunges at me, but I dodge it. It takes another shot before I’m ready, though, and gets me in the upper left arm. I feel blood trickling down, no doubt doing far worse to my shoes than any of the mud, but I try to concentrate on staying alive. Another bird gets me, this one by shooting its metallic-looking feather at me, porcupine-like. All of a sudden, though, a weird feeling comes over me, and I hope I don’t black out and get devoured by these birds, which are obviouslly not your ordinary crow. Then, quite suddnely, it begins to rain, hard. The birds aren’t too pleased about this, apparently, and squawk and ruffle their wings. Then, all of a ssuddne, a blinding flash of colorful light comes out of nowhere and that’s the last thing I remember.
***
I slowly come to, still where I was before, soggy from laying on the wet ground, which is even more muddy since the freak rainstorm. I blink, and ease up onto my elbows, suddenly aware of several throbbing pains throughout me. “She’s awake,” someone says, and I see a boy and a girl, about my age, standing next to me…
((Howssat? And, like my avatar?))
((18-The girl can be Hyacinth, but I don’t know about the boy. Hey! I-Man, I could make it Jason, if you don’t mind. I will, but if you don’t want me to, just forget it, and I’ll find someone else.))
Hyacinth
I was just about to enter the school grounds when the sky opened up. I ran to a tree–not the smartest thing to do–and, just as suddenly as it had started, it stopped. I saw a girl, about my age, collapse on the ground, not far from me. ran over. She was alive, just unconscious. A boy ran out, with a couple of birds running after him. “Mortalitas! Can you help him?” She nodded, and took to the sky, clawing after the birds. A couple made the mistake of looking at her eyes, and they fell to the ground, convulsing and screeching uncontrollably, where the boy finished them off. 15 minutes later, they all lay dead on the grass, their blood staining it a sickly red-green. “Hey, can you help me?” I called to the boy. “There’s a girl over here, she’s unconscious.” The boy jogged over and we watched over the girl for about a half-hour until she moaned and pushed up onto her elbows. “She’s awake.” I said.
((SFTDP: Anyone can volunteer for the kids standing next to me, I don’t care. I have curly blonde hair, to between my chin and shoulders, and blue eyes, and yes, I’m a daughter of Iris (so un-obvious…). Oh, and I’m Rosebud2, in case you didn’t know.))
I sit all the way up. “W-who are you? What’s going on?”
“I’m Hyancinth,” the girl says.
“Jason,” the boy introduces himself.
“Oh. I’m Irene,” I reply.
((Shall we start to wrap the battle up? Not that I’m impatient, but it seems like we’ve thrown so much at the birds that most of not all would have to be damaged and/or deceased.))
((I agree – I want the action to die down so somebody can write my character in.))
((But I just did….see post 19.))
((Sorry about that – I didn’t notice.))
((Yeah it is getting a bit over the top, but hey it is the first conflict this story has produced. I say everyone gets to the shelter and we have some sort of last stand and then reinforcements: gods, satyrs, older students, arrive. Any takers?))
((*raises hand* Sounds good.))
(( Horray! today is my half birthday!!))
CAW!CAW!
I was listening to my favorite song and then a group of birds swooped down, crashing the beds. “Oh boy.” I breathed. The biggest bird lunged at me. I blinded it with light. Then a shot a 2 headed flaming arrow at the largest birds. they disentagrated. Then I lunged on one of them. then i stuck an arrow in its back.((since we got rid of most of the characters could i introduce a new character?))
((I think it’s clear that we’ve generally nixed that idea.))
But I only have 1 character
((I’m going to start calming the fighting down a bit. Also, how long was the fight? Could it be after lunch?))
Mikazuki ((since no one rescued her!!!!!!! :D))
I blinked and sat up. For a minute, I couldn’t remember where I was. Then, it came to me. The birds. The T. Rex. The fainting. I groaned and staggered over to the window. The students seemed to be getting the upper hand, and the birds were fleeing. Since I didn’t see my T. Rex anywhere, I assumed the birds had made quick work of it. Here and there were bits of scales and teeth, evidence of a struggle. A bird flapped clumsily by, its wing broken and hanging. I put it out of its misery and it fell with a dull thud.
Halena
I had found Felina and Fatima by nearly running into them. The sound of metal against stone was not far behind. “There’s a shelter,” I gasped. “Not that strong…need to protect…go!” They ran and I plunged my knife into the bird’s throat as it swooped around the corner, a bit too low. I sat down, my back against the wall, and rested. The birds were retreating and the wounded and killed were being treated and transported. Just then, ________ walked up.
Dr. Korlin:
“Get to the shelters!” I shouted, taking out another bird with a few high-speed bricks to the head. Some of them were fighting quite well, and they had gotten lucky, but this was far too dangerous for first-years.
“Nice to meet you, Irene,” Hyacinth says. “You should get inside to the hospital- some ambrosia and nectar will help those cuts of yours.”
“Ambrosia?” I ask, confused. “Isn’t that a kind of apple?”
Hyacinth looks slightly worried. “Did you hit your head when you fell? Remember, ambrosia’s the food of the gods.”
“What is this place?” I ask. “I’m not a student. My dad told me to come here. I have no idea what’s going on, and my shoulder really hurts.”
((Is it ok if I have other characters say stuff? Like not much, but a little, or else it’ll be hard to have a conversation.))
((Hyacinth doesn’t know about the gods yet.))
Yikes… I guess I should’ve looked into that, Sorry.
((S’okay, we can just cut that part out.))
CLEE:
After rushing out of the room and frantically running past dozens of rooms being slashed apart by the huge birds, I heard Dr. Korlin shout “Get to the shelters!” Shelters? Where? I looked around and saw a couple of kids rushing out of the school who looked like they knew where they were going.
I followed them into an old dusty room that looked like it had been turned into a temporary hospital station. Kids with all kinds of cuts, bruises, scrapes, and gashes were were lying all over beds – one kid had a huge cast slung over his arm and a sweet smile. How romantic, I thought. The Apollo kids and other sons and daughters of healers were working overtime to tend to their wounds.
“Lie down,” I heard someone say. I wanted to go check the kid out ((I’m not thinking of someone in particular, although if someone wants to face the fate of Clee’s love, go ahead at your own risk. )) but for once I agreed. I was exhausted and I wanted to sleep. I lied down and closed my eyes.
Mikazuki
A couple of kids ran by. “Where are you going?” I yelled. “To the shelters!” they called back. I ran after them to a dust-covered room that was serving as a hospital room. The room was crowded with beds, and nearly all of them were full. I helped out the Apollo healers a bit, but soon I felt faint again. I took off my necklace, which was a simple silver chain with a pendant of a stone that was half white, half black. I squeezed the stone, and it grew into a 3-foot, black and white staff, with the same stone on the top. I felt some of my energy return, and healed a couple more people. Finally, I sat down next to a wall, and rested, letting my energy climb back up. A girl with black hair came and sat next to me.
Halena
After talking to ______ for a while, en went their separate way, and I kept resting. A couple of kids ran by, saying they were going to a shelter. I got up and followed them. It was a dusty room, with several beds and some healers. One stood out from the rest. Instead of being fair-haired, and American in appearance, this girl was more Japanese, with long, black hair, and an aura of power. She looked pale, and seemed to know it, because she went and sat down next to a wall. I went and sat down next to her.
Siriana: The flock, what was left of it, seemed to be retreating. A few kids sped past her, shouting something about a shelter. She slipped outside. There was a blond girl in the distance, guarding some black-haired boy. She seemed to be handling the birds on her own, but she was getting tired. So was Siriana. She hid behind a tree and let the rest of her power free, blasting most of the birds out of the sky. Black tugged on the corners of her vision, and she collapsed.
Ingrid: The bedraggled remnants of the flock were leaving, but there were still some attacking her. She was losing control over the water. Suddenly, the birds above her exploded? dissolved? They were gone, anyhow. Alec stirred.
“Can you walk?” She asked, kneeling next to him. She was feeling shaky herself.
“I’ll try.” She pulled him up and together they staggered into the shelter.
((Can one of the CotD members find Siriana? She doesn’t want to miss the meeting tonight.))
I was in the shelter helping people, and needing a break myself. An asian- american girl sprinted in and helped us apollo kids. I smiled and thanked her. (rosebud2 I hope its ok to have you come in if you don’t like it then pretend it was never written)) Another girl a haven’t met came in. I cracked my knuckles and healed her, althought it took most of my energy and I couldn’t heal her completely. I think her name was irene because I heard it around school. I gave her a sleeping pill. I hoped that her shoulder was okay, then went outside to soak in the sun.
((Just to confirm, Hyacinth does NOT know about the gods or her long-lost sister. However, she knows something is up, and she knows about her powers. Thank you.))
Hyacinth
The girl, Irene, was babbling about not being a student. She must’ve hit her head hard, so me and Jason helped her up to a shelter of some sorts. Finding an empty bed, we laid her down on it. A girl, Japanese in appearance, tended to the girl, somehow healing her wounds. “Excuse me, how did you do that?” I asked her.
“Oh, my mother is Izanami.”
“Who?”
She looked at me funny. “Izanami. Japanese goddess of creation and death.”
“B-But the gods aren’t real. That’s not possible!”
“The gods are real, and so are the Norse, Greek, and Native American gods. Didn’t your mortal parent ever tell you?”
“No,” I said fuming. My mom and dad were both mortal. What was I doing here? I accidentally released some of my power, and everyone cut a wide circle around me. “I’m going outside,” I mumbled, then ran to a secluded yard where the birds hadn’t gotten to yet. I tried to dip my hands in the river at the back, but the water seemed to shy away. I remembered my reading teacher. “In Greek mythology, naiads take care of any body of water. They will protect their stream from anything they feel to be unclean.” I was angry. Just to show the darn naiad–which is what I thought it was, if the japanese girl was telling the truth–I splashed through the river upstream and downstream. “Hey! Could you, like, not do that?” a voice said. I looked over, and a girl, about 12 or 13 years old, was sitting on a rock. She was dressed in a blue t-shirt and some jean cutoffs. “That’s, like, very pure water, y’ know? And I have to, like watch over it ‘n stuff. If you, like, get your Death scent all over it, nobody will, like, want to use it anymore.”
“What do you mean, Death scent?”
The girl hopped down from the rock. “You mean you don’t know? You’re dad is Hades, Greek god of, like Death. Which brings us back to what I was saying,” She walked up, getting into my face. “Get out of my river. Now.” I stepped back, and she dissolved back into the stream. I didn’t even notice the skull floating above my head as I walked back to the shelter, a bit overloaded.
BELLA
I felt kind of tired so I asked mikazuki to fill in for me (I know everyones names now !!!) and sprinted off before she answered. As I left, a girl was talking to her. I listened to music on mortal-deafing volume and could hear the huge bird swooping. I didn’t know untill it raked it’s claw agianst my shoulder. I turned the music off.”back off befo-” I couldn’t finish, as I was throttled to the ground. The bird called, and the whole fliok came. My powers were useless. I faded away, in a red circle of grass(( which means I’m bleeding a lot. Can a healer rescue me, sicnce I passed out due to loss of blood))
I can’t believe what the Japanese girl had told Hyacinth before she’d left. Gods? Real? Everyone here was crazy. But… Why do I feel so much better after the girl tended to me? I run my fingers over a scrape on my arm- or rather, where there had been one. Wow. The skin is seamless. I’m healed. I don’t know what to think. I think maybe I should get some rest, but as I close my eyes, something hits me. If Dad sent me here, does that mean my mom was a god? No, that would be a goddess, I correct myself. Still, who? And I wasn’t sure I believed this stuff anyway. As I drifted off, I wondered who my real mom was..
Sarae rushed back to camp, pursued by a stray bird. She knew what it said unconciously, but outwardly she tried not to listen. It was an evil creature, not something to talk to humans, so why was it calling to her? Eventually she decided to talk to it. “Go away,” she hissed. The bird- evil?- was telling her something, but she couldn’t accept it, no- it was too horrible to believe. Surely it was lying? “No…” Sarae cried. “No, I’ll prove you wrong!” But when she got to camp, a horrible sight awaited her. “No… Cailin…” But it was true. Cailin was lifeless and cold, lying on the ground. And Sarae cried for the first time in her life.
((Puffpuff–Sure, I can have Hyacinth find you, then call a healer. Irene, nice avatar!))
Halena
“So…neat school, huh?” I said to the girl.
“Yeah, but it’s not going to look so great when we come out.”
“Yeah,” We sat for awhile. “Who’s your god parent? Or do you not know?”
“I know. It’s Izanami, Japanese goddess of creation and death.”
“Cool. Hades is my dad. He’s–”
“–the Greek god of the Underworld, I know.” Suddenly, another girl who looked strangely familiar burst in. “A girl….she’s hurt…back courtyard…need a healer!” she panted. The japanese girl I’d been talking to jumped up and followed the other girl out. I sighed and got up to follow them. Seems Hades was getting a good crop today. I followed them out to a grassy area, where the girl from archery, Bella, was collapsed on the ground, bleeding a lot.
Hyacinth
As I walked slowly back, I heard a bird cry from somewhere on my left. Following the sound, I came upon a death scene. A girl, about 13 years old, was collapsed on the grass, bleeding from several gashes on her face and body. They looked like bird claw marks. I knelt next to her, and searched for any sign of death ((Since Hyacinth and Halena are children of Hades, they can sense when a person is dying or dead, but not if they’re alive.)), and found none. She might still have a chance. I ran back to the shelter as fast as I could, and explained the situation. A Japanese healer followed me back to the courtyard, where the girl still lay. The healer quickly stopped the bleeding, and the girl stirred.
When I came back into conciseness to girls were looking at me, one was the one that had the necklace, the other was new. I had never seen her before. ” Are you OK?” said the one with the necklace. I think she was Mikazuki. The other girl who I saw walking a bit before I passed out was a daughter of hades said ” She’s still alive.” ” owww… My head.” I moaned. My voice was almost gone and my voice box was minorly damaged. I plucked a steel feather from my rats nest of a hair. There was a knot on my forehead. I checked my pocket for my prized pouch and let’s out a sigh. They hadn’t taken away my arrows. When I have them I’m less likley to pass out. I still had though.I reached for the canteen for nectar. My arm felt fine now. I went to sleep. (( can mikazuki and Bella see each other a lot and either hate or be good friends with each other? Thanks))
((Consciousness not conciseness lol))
Adonia:
I screamed as a bird flew into the room. Crashed, actually. Dramatically crashed through a window. But that wasn’t important. I needed to get out of here. Screaming again, I launched myself out of my desk and toward the doors. I was out in moments. Somehow, I associated ‘safety’ with ‘finding Alexandria’, and that very quickly became my first objective.
It didn’t take long. She was outside a classroom wielding a sword, with her eyes on a bird above her. She glanced over and saw me.
“Adonia!”
“Alexandria!”
I was about to run towards her, but she shouted ‘Duck!’ just then. I ducked, and a feather whipped past my head. I screamed again. Alexandria shouted “Get somewhere safe. I can handle these.”
I hesitated a moment, then ran.
Alexandria:
I watched Adonia run, and turned back to the bird attacking me. I’d gotten a sword from the Swordfighting classroom, and was defending myself with it. I’d been extremely tired mere minutes before, but I was fine now. ((I have a reason for this. I’ll explain it later.)) A blast of wind, and one of the birds was on the floor. I stuck the sword into it. It screamed, and started flailing around randomly. Pulling out the sword again, I shoved it away from myself with the point of it, and swung up to face another. I’d killed two so far, and hadn’t gotten hurt. The feathers seemed to swerve away from me. I hadn’t thought about it, but I assumed the winds were helping me without waiting for orders. Stabbing at another bird, I put all other thoughts out of my mind for now.
((By the way, I sort of visualize the classrooms as surrounding a courtyard, with covered walks around the edges leading to the various classrooms. I think this dates from around the start of the battle to defeat the Stymphalian birds.))
I was walking on something slippery, and I was trying to keep my balance and not fall onto the farmland I saw at least 200 feet below me. The strange path was bumpy, with two-inch-wide bumps running the length of it. Each one was a different color. The colors of the rainbow. The path curved down in a gut-wrenching arch, ending resting on a cloud. “That’s impossible,” I said, “Clouds are made of water vap-” With that, I slipped and fell from the rainbow.
I wake up, still in the hospital bed. At first I forget where I am, then remember: Antediluvian. The gods. Demonic birds.
“Are you OK?” someone asks; it’s another nurse, I think.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” I say. “I just had a weird dream.”
“What about?” she asks curiously.
“It’s not a big deal,” I reply, a bit put off. “I was just walking on top of a rainbow and I fell off of it.” I shrug.
When Sarae stopped crying, she had changed. Not visibly, but she had a new yearning, a new dream.
She would have revenge.
Nobody in their right mind would have done this, she thought. Nobody who was sane could have cut off her last ties to the world. Cailin… her father… her mother… all were dead, or missing, or worse. Sarae thought again, Who in their right minds would have done this to me?!
Unfortunately, Sarae was not in her right mind.
And that is where her life went considerably downhill.
((Oh, and can I pleasepleaseplease add in a new character? It’s vital to my storyline! Please?????? (makes puppy dog face)
((I’m okay with it, because you only have the one character anyway. If you had, like, five and wanted to add a new one, I don’t think I would like that. :)))
((SFTDP)) ((People, come back!!!!!!! I’m want to get to the CotD!!!!!! How long did the battle last? I think it should’ve been past lunch, at the least.))
((Maybe it’s partway through lunch? I don’t really think it was that long.))
((I’m here, I’m here. I’m sorry, I just honestly don’t know what to do now. Where are we all?))
((I think it’s probably around the middle of fourth period now. And I’ll post something as soon as I figure out where Tala is (probably hiding behind something with her bow drawn).))
((Sorry I’ve been away, life is a mess right now. Call me up when we have a cohesive plot plan.))
((I’m just waiting a bit to account for the time Irene was asleep.))
((Shall we say that classes shall not resume today? Many students are grievously injured, exhausted, or needed because of healing powers, so the classes would be very reduced and nothing would really get done.))
Siriana’s eyes fluttered open and the first thing she saw was a group of people huddled around a form on the ground (Bella). She sat up with a grimace of pain: she had collapsed on the roots of a tree trunk and was bruised. Compared to many others, however, she was relatively unscathed. She spotted a tall person walking towards her; it was Ako.
“Hey, pickpocket girl,” he said, grinning slightly. “Need a hand?” She closed her eyes and with the tiny flame of power that had returned to her, extinguished the closest light bulb. She felt a little better, and pulled herself up by the offered hand. “You didn’t get hurt, did you?” he asked. “Adrian wants all our people in one piece for tonight.” She shook her head and he helped her to her dorm room. ((I don’t know where Kali or the rest of the CotD people were.)) Meanwhile, the kitchens were busy preparing food for the injured and those taking care of them.
((Good idea. I need some free time for a plot twist thing I have in mind…))
((vanillabean-Yeah, that sounds good. Also, since Halena seems to be getting really, really, powerful, her weakness is that she’s proud as a peacock. She doesn’t like admitting she can’t do something.))
Mikazuki
I knelt beside the girl and stopped the bleeding. Carefully bandaging the worst of the wounds, I healed the rest, and the girl stirred. “No, stay down,” I commanded, then yelled to the two other girls. “Can you take her back to the shelter?” The two girls nodded, then lifted the injured girl up and carried her out of sight. I stood up and sought out Mr. Fenlauten, who told me to go back to my room, there’d be no more classes today. “But–but–” I sputtered, thinking I needed to heal more people. “GO!” he yelled, and for a moment, his eyes turned blood-red. I went back to my room. ((Just setting up for the “evil spirit” thing.))
Halena
As soon as the other girl and I put the injured girl on a bed, I went for a walk around the courtyard. I came across the nature-freak from before, crying over Cailin’s body. “She’s dead!” I shouted, “And no amount of your crying will change that!” The girl looked up, a crazy, revenge-like fire in her eyes. “EEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” she screamed, and lunged for me. I pulled out my knife and dodged her hands. Turning around, I slashed her arm as she, too, spun around. “Stay away from me or next time, it will be more than a scratch.” I said, pointing my knife at her throat. The girl clutched her arm and scowled, then walked back to the shelter. I spun my knife and put it back in my belt. Since lots of people had been injured and/or killed, my guess was no more classes for the day. I went back to my room to feed Dethaea and read a bit.
((Ok, so Sudelan’s been hiding with Sid in their dorm. Sandra has gone with the other COtD members.))
((Maybe i could make a new character cause i only have one?))
((We don’t NEED any more new characters. I’m sorry, but you should really try to focus on your main character right now.))
((How many times do I have to scream: PLEASE, NO MORE CHARACTERS! If you really feel you will throw yourself off a bridge out of despair if you don’t get a character then make another one, but otherwise I would strongly suggest that you refrain from it. We did not decide to fade other characters so that the thread could be cluttered up by new ones. Most RPGs have one character per capita (except when villains are needed) and no-one had a problem with it.))
Victoria:
I stood up and shook the dust from my clothes. I had chased that bird straight into the wall surrounding campus, but fallen down myself in a failed attempt to break properly. The bird had embedded itself in the wall like an ugly dart and no longer moved. I poked it with the remains of a table leg (which was promptly sliced through) and waited, then decided that it was dead. Just as I was about to leave, Mr Fenlaiten came up behind me. “Is it dead?” I asked him casually, hiding my shock at having to face monsters yet again and this time inside campus behind my usual mask of disintrest. “Dead.” murmured Mr Fenlauten. His eyes had a strange gleam to them. “Deaddeaddead.” His voice dropped to a whisper so that I could barely make out what he said “…brother”. – “Are you all right?” His head snapped around from looking at the wall to face me. “Ah, Victoria. I was looking for you. Classes have been stopped, but training never dies. Are you tired?” – “I’m fine.” I said, a bit confused. “Go running.” Something was strange about his voice and his eyes gleamed-hadn’t they been red for a second. “Run.” The word hit me like a blow. WTG&…
I set off on the track, doing my circles. Strange that campus was so deserted, but no matter. I needed to run. And run. And run. I had a dim sensation of being hungry and thirsty, and my feet hurt. No matter. Run, run, run…
((She’s been spelled or hypotenized (epic fail without spellcheck) in case you can’t tell.))
Alexandria:
After we finished fighting off the birds, the teachers announced that there weren’t going to be any more classes today. I smiled. Good. I wanted to look something up. I went and found my bag, and slung it over my shoulder. Just then I heard a voice.
“Alexandria!”
I turned around, and there was Adonia. I smiled as she rushed up to me and hugged me. Then she stepped back. “I was worried about you!”
“Yeah. me too.”
We walked on for a moment. Then Adonia spoke again. “Let’s go get lunch. I’m starved.”
I nodded. “You go on ahead. I want to do something.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah. It won’t take too long. See you in fifteen minutes, at most.”
“Okay.”
I turned around. I knew there was a library, and I needed to find it.
It took a surprisingly short time. I opened the doors, and went inside. Books upon books upon books. The doors slid shut behind me. I walked through the library, noting the signs on the end of the lines of shelves, telling what section it was. Walked past many. Alphabetical. Chinese, Celtic… Egyptian. I walked into this section. I quickly found an entire section detailing all the Egyptian gods. I stood and stared at it. Somewhere in there was a description of my father. And with my powers, the power to control the winds, I could find him. I stared at all the books. And stared.
Then I turned around and left.
I could discover who my father was. But that wouldn’t do anything. It wouldn’t heal the emptiness inside of me, wishing I knew him. He had chosen not to reveal himself to me yet, and until he chose otherwise, I would wait.
((Sorry I haven’t been able to post for a while. My internet use has been limited.))
Solon
I turned away as two students started talking about their parents. “It’s not their fault,” I told myself, “and it’s not your fault either. That’s just the way it is.”
I’ve always tried not to feel angry or resentful of anyone because they knew who their mother and father were. At the orphanage, this was easy, because nobody had parents. But here, where people regularly talk about how powerful their dad is, it’s hard to contain myself. I have practiced showing no emotions for my entire life and I’m quite good at it, but it’s hard to ignore what I’m missing.
TERRANCE COUSLAND
I threw back my head in a rich chuckle. The shelter had become a bustling place of activity, and with nothing more than some cheap wine and a comfortable perch atop a ripped mattress, I curled back and hooted at the healers and students moving about like ants in a rain storm. One forgets how that first fervor takes its toll, that first ungodly moment of bloodshed. One can prepare and train all they want, but it hits like an icy chill and leaves one tired and empty inside. It was a big cosmic joke.
These were the survivors. Wounded, sorcerers, warriors, and cowards all gathered together in the shelter, exhausted and bruised. A couple teachers attempted to assist in the effort, but it was the youthful demigods who were showing heroism. They dragged fellow classmates to whatever patch of open space or blood-spattered dorm rug they could find working with bandages and seeking out healers who still had enough energy to help remove the feathers protruding from their peers.
I slid down from the wreckage and promptly headed to the admissions office to get my key back after the long summer. Unfortunately the frumpy, old dorm lady was unable to be found. I heard crash from down the hall and saw a lone stymphalian scavenging for the remains of whatever it could find. It was unaware of my presence until I had slit its throat and stomped on its bald head for good measure.
I was about to try my hand at picking the lockbox, figuring that if my dorm key was anywhere that would make the most sense, but my craftsmanship was interrupted. A girl, probably a first year, barreled into me at a full run. We clipped head on, and I slammed into the desk, my arms flailing in shock. The runner tripped, but appeared unperturbed and sped down the hall without stopping. “Excuse me?” I hollered at the girl, but nothing changed in her attitude, and she continued in her sprint. Hairs standing up on the back of one’s neck is an overused cliché, but the description felt right for this ominous feeling. Something was not right. I dropped the box and ran after her.
The first year was pretty fast, but I managed to catch up to her after she got caught in a bit of rubble and was turning at a corner to go to the next hallway. I channeled my time as a center forward, and delivered an unsportsmanlike slide tackle as she changed directions. She did an awkward face plant as her legs struggled to keep their incessant speed. She thrust her arms downward to push herself back up, but I managed to catch her by the wrist before she was fully upright. “Stop,” I commanded in the most authoritative voice I could muster. “Stop running.” Something like fear flashed across her eyes, but they became blank again. She struggled to stand up, but I managed to get my hand on her forehead and pull her by her arm down to the marble tile. “This is going to hurt,” I spoke through gritted teeth and concentrated on giving her the worst migraine I could produce. The hypnotic convulsions ceased and the emptiness was replaced by wide-eyed realization. She gasped, pain tainting the sound with an acute agony. A tear of blood trickled down her eye, and I wiped away the unsightly liquid with my sleeve.
“Aww eyee-“
“Ssshh, just close your eyes.” I murmured cupping her trembling hands in my own. She obeyed with something of a child-like submission.
“What your name?”
“ Victoria.”
“Alright Victoria, can you answer a few questions?”
She nodded, removing her hands from my grasp to push on her temples.
“Do you need food or water?”
“Yes.”
“I’ll get you to the dining hall. Can you move alright?”
“I think so. My head really hur-“
“I’m sorry. You needed to stop running.”
I pulled Victoria to her feet and placed one of her hands on the wall next to her.
“Who did this to you?”
“Mr. Fenlauten said I needed to train, and I just-“
She gurgled and tears ran down her face from beneath her closed eyelids. Comprehension dawned on me, and I clenched my teeth, trying to hide my desire to bolt from the whimpering demigod beside me. The Order’s messenger had come to Antediluvian Academy, and something told me the stymphalians were but the icing on some vicious birthday cake.
((Hey bookgirl! Sorry for the massive power play. You can return the ugly favor anytime you wish as long as Terrance does not end up dead.))
((Just to recap, Halena and Mikazuki are in their rooms, and Hyacinth is helping people kill the last of the birds, but I’ll probably have her make her way to the dining hall.))
Hyacinth
After putting the injured girl onto a bed, I walked outside, joined by Mortalitas. “Anything on why the birds attacked?” she asked.
“No, nothing so far. But I did hear about this Council of the Dead thing. It was whispered, and I couldn’t get very close, but I heard ’11 o’ clock’ and something about someone named Adrian.”
“Are you going to sneak in?”
“Well, duh. I mean, this could be something evil, and I want to know what it’s about.” If a winged cat could shrug, I swear Mortalitas did. “Whatever,” she said, and flew off. A girl ran by, oblivious to my cries of “Hey!” and “Ow!” I kept walking, massaging my shoulder where the girl had run into it. Passing the dining hall, I smelt food, and peered inside. Most of the uninjured students were there, silently eating from broken plates. A few of them looked like they’d been crying. I saw the girl who’d run into me before, next to a boy who seemed to be consoling her. Walking inside, I sat next to ((random background character)) and pulled a plate from the stack in the middle of the table. “I wish I had some pork,” I thought aimlessly, and it appeared. Compared to everything else I’d heard today, this was only mildly surprising, and I dug in. “Mashed potatoes, green beans,” I thought, and that appeared on my plate, too.
((I guess Clee is still in the makeshift hospital for now…but she’s being confined to her bed, which is going to set her up later on for sneaking out and coming across the Council of the Dead meeting. For those of you who don’t know the plan, I want her to basically become taken advantage of from the CoftheD members and do all their dirty work since she can do transformations and use disguises.))
CLEE:
I rolled over as an Apollo girl ______ ((Just some random person, not somebody on here…unless there’s somebody I can talk to….I’m so confused because I don’t know where everybody is, so unfortunately I’m just talking to some random person at the school.)) fed me some ambrosia and a tiny bit of nectar.
“You have to stay here,” She instructed. “You went down pretty bad.”
“Ugh, it’s the stupid weight thing,” I grumbled. “I couldn’t run after those girls put that curse on me.” She nodded and then tried to stifle her laughs.
“So I heard…you’re that Aphrodite girl, aren’t you?” She asked. I nodded.
“Yeah.”
She glanced over her shoulder, and I noticed her biting her lip, trying not to laugh again. “Well, why don’t you stay here and get some rest.” I looked around. “What?” I asked. “Aren’t the birds gone?” She glanced around frantically as if she were afraid one would swoop down and snatch her out of the shelter.
“I think so, but no one really knows. Most of them were fought of…but one attack could lead to many. It’s bad news, very bad news. An attack this large hasn’t happened here in centuries at this school.”
“Oh…that’s….bad,” I replied. Sure, the birds were scary, but whatever. I didn’t care about the stupid attack. “But do I have to stay? Can’t I go back to my dorm tonight?”
She shook her head. “Sorry, but they’re still investigating the school and trying to find out the cause of the birds. The school is mostly in ruins anyway. Wouldn’t you feel safer here?” I began to protest again – I didn’t want to be stuck here with a bunch of stupid injured people. I wanted to leave! But she held up her hand, smiled, and moved onto the person in the next cot.
“Fine,” I grumbled. “Just fine.”
Maya~
I slid out of my hiding place once the bird was far away, not bothering to wonder about the way I could hide among the shadows. I walked along the destroyed hallways, joining a group that was working on finding the many students scattered across the school.
After helping a wounded student down to the shelter, I looked around for something else to help with when I noticed a girl sitting by the body of another person. She had a cut down her arm, and a strange look on her face, part anger, part pain, part stun. I had never seen the girl before, but I recognized the dead student. Cailin? I felt numb, tears streaming down my face.
“Who would do this to someone?” I said in a cracked voice, “Why?”
((Oh, gosh, lots of people have been affected by Cailin being killed… *pangs of guilt*))
((Well considering that Cailin and Cadeo are like THE ONLY people that died, there’s really no one else to mourn.))
((Well, duh. But, I didn’t realize so many people were friends with her… *more pangs of guilt*))
((I’m trying to reconnect Sarae to the rest of the story.))
TERRANCE COUSLAND
The dining hall was starting to get really packed, so I subtlety ditched Victoria in the growing masses. Food sounded good, but I my stomach could wait. I made my way to Mr. Fenlauten’s office as quickly as I could, salvaging my pack from the desecrated hospital wing. I armed myself with two concealed daggers, artfully poisoned with some of my more painful “medicines”, and three throwing knives. I pulled my dark jacket out, too, even with the lingering summer humidity. The hood seemed fitting.
The professor was busily organizing papers and trying to restore numerous paintings to their former glory on the walls. His hands shook with nervous frustration, and he seemed to be constantly readjusting his spectacles. I entered silently, staring at Mr. Fenlauten intently and planning the most dramatic entrance I could muster. I opted for the delicate opening; though I wished I could have killed the lights.
“You know causing a freshman to run around campus without stopping isn’t the best way to keep a low profile.”
The satyr froze and let a yellowing piece of parchment slide from his sweaty palms.
“Mr. Cousland. I trust your summer went well,” Mr. Fenlauten stammered, keeping his tone neutral.
“Oh yes, most illuminating,” I replied, “like finding Jesus.”
“Ah well, learning is a lifetime commitment.”
Mr. Fenlauten turned, absentmindedly folding a missive to fit inside a white envelope. His cloven hooves clopped lightly on the floor, and he promptly closed the blinds with a brief tug. I pushed the door shut with my foot and pulled the hood of my jacket over my face.
“Please sit,” Mr. Fenlauten said “so that we might prepare a proper schedule given your unique circumstances.”
I rejected the offer, and instead flung the office desk and the multitude of papers to the floor. Mr. Fenlauten jumped in shock.
“Please don’t! I just finished pu-“
I removed one of my daggers from my belt and pressed it to the trembling goat’s fuzzy neck. He let out a frightened squeak and tried to move away from the lethal blade, but found himself trapped behind his desk. I shoved him against the wall, gripping his larger horn and whispering with deliberate venom into his tremulous eyes.
“Cut the crap, satyr, and do not attempt any mind tricks or whatever brief moment of sanity I still possess will end your pathetic life. Now talk.”
Mr. Fenlauten let out a pungent, broccoli-smelling exhale, and his timidity faded into an insidious calm. He spoke with an aching, deep voice, something reminiscent of a cracking boulder.
“You…forget…your place.” The final word was emphasized with a grackle hiss. Goosebumps covered my body in a sudden terrifying wave of recognition .
“By the gods,” I swore, “my humblest apologies.” I sheathed my blade and backed away slowly.
Mr. Fenlauten regained his composure and idly stepped past me, clearing his throat and snatching a manila envelope from the pile beneath the overturned desk. It was burnt at the edges and crackled with a kind of repugnant squishing noise.
“Your instructions…are clear,” came the harrowing voice. I bowed slowly and quietly left the room making sure to take the far more discreet hallways so as to avoid any of my fellow classmates.
(( hmm.. I shall just kill off Bella ((( I’m evil, right!))) and will introduce a new character, anastasia, daughter of fridgia (( Viking god of snow and ice)) and she can frezze time and other stuff and make it snow, etc))
((If that’s what you want to do, I guess it’s all right. When writing your character, please give her only ONE power.
I also noticed that there is no god or goddess named Fridgia, please try to use a real god parent as that is what we do on this thread.
And while I’m at it, you don’t need to use double parentheses inside one another. Its strange and hard to read. Please also make a conscious effort to check your spelling when writing a post. It’s very annoying to try and read you writing when it’s barely discernible. Thank you!))
((Ooh ooh can I kill Bella? Please please please!!!!))
Ok. On accident. You could think I’m, like , a evil bird if something, I’ll just be daughter of Posiden.

Varete’s Fate: Staying alive.
Hotaria’s Fate: Die with Alice protecting other students.
Alice’s Fate: Die with Hotaria protecting other students.
Lkiana’s Fate: She’s going to become a teacher of transformation. She’s going to be an NPC.
Things that happened but we didn’t write them:
Kraehe (Morgana’s alternate personality) and Cheshire, Alice’s alternate personality, are friends. Rather dark friends, but friends.
Hotaria and Morgana are friends!
Kenji can see ghosts and actually tolerates Hotaria.
Cleo and Felina can barely stand each other and argue all the time.
Rhia is friends with Alice.
Lkiana is friends with Alyss and Felina.
Alyss is awakened as Alice, creating the three personalities. Alice stays inside a blue-tinted diamond on a white choker around Alyss’s neck.
Alyss goes to classes, Alice runs around and comes out sometimes, and Cheshire takes over at night.
Sooo…I’m going to take this chance to mainly withdraw from Demigod, say what you will. It’s moving too fast. You have permission to do whatever you like to my characters; as long as they do their appointed fates and people acknowledge them.
RQ would also like her characters to be PPed.
Most of Neko’s character’s fates will occur in the second Battle of Doom.))
(( ok i’ll PP Felina maybe they can be friends))
((If I can input here for just a moment, I think it’s only fair that so many characters should be kept alive if their creators aren’t even going to make the effort to post. I should think that two max. for each of you is reasonable and the rest can be faded, killed or simply disappear immediately. But we’re probably not going to use them, and the more characters we can dispose of, the better off things will be in the long run.))
((Correction: I meant it’s only fair that so many characters shouldn’t be kept alive…”))
((So what’s going to happen now? It seems as if though the battle is nearly over, so maybe people could continue on their ‘normal’ school lives, except if people need to kill off their characters still? Or should there like a memorial event for those who died?))
58-I say a small memorial for Cailin and Cadeo, then retire to rooms for the rest of the day, until CotD, for members of it. Also, can we skip over classes? Except for occasional snippets, like “En looked out the window, bored with such-and-such class.” Would that be okay?))
Halena
Mr. Fenlauten came on the loudspeaker and told us to assemble in the main courtyard for a memorial to the two students who’d died. I got up and changed to a jet-black dress with skull earrings, then walked out to the courtyard. Not many students were well enough to stand, so there were only about 10 people there. Mr. Fenlauten said some blessings, then sent us back to our rooms. I changed back into what I’d been wearing before, but I kept the skull earrings on. I had time to kill before the meeting.
((I thought I already said this, but I’m pretty sure that we decided to skip the rest of the classes today.))
((I meant for the rest of the RPG, not just for the day.))
((Would it be way too early to think about starting the CotD meeting or starting to RP it tomorrow or something? I just think that the plot has gone downhill, and fast – I know it does seem early for it but I can’t think of something interesting to do…and that might be a good way to get more people on here.))
((Yeah, I say we do a time skip where everyone goes back to the room, the injured people either are healed or whatever, and we start at the CotD meeting.))
((SFTDP “their rooms”, not “the room.”))
((Good idea. People! Please come on over here!))
((Seriously?
My character just about declared allegiance to the approaching evil, and I get no reaction (sigh)!
Oh well.
On other business: LBK where is Halena? I think Terrance should ask her out. Possibly to the CotD, but I do know yet.
And speaking of which, where are the prominent CotD members? I would at least like for some minor confrontation to occur. If not Terrance will crash at the CotD (and let the hilarity ensue)))
((Halena is in her room, 801. I think it’s be funny if Terrance “crashed” at the CotD.))
((Terrance- In case you didn’t notice, the RPG doesn’t revolve around you character.))
((Or mine. I’ve been doing a lot. Sorry.))
((Okay, I’m going to do the time skip mentioned above and start at around 10:30 or so.))
Halena
I was still reading Sherlock Holmes after lights out because, well, today was kind of rough. I’d just gotten to the best part when a paper slipped out of the front cover. Frowning, I picked it up. It was an “invitation” to the CotD. I’d completely forgotten! Tiptoeing quietly over to the closet, I changed from my pajamas into what I had been wearing before, then checked my watch. It said 10:52. I still had some time. I yawned and grabbed the invitation, then slipped out into the dark hallway.
Hyacinth
((Who wants to room with Hyacinth?))
After ((roommate(s))) fell asleep, I snuck out into the hallway with Mortalitas in tow, launching things like “You’re going to get caught,” and “This isn’t worth it.” at me. “Quiet!” I whispered, then peeked down the hall to make sure no one was there. There was one girl, a bit overweight, ((Clee. Is that okay, starr? I’m just setting up for the CotD thing you talked about last thread.)) but she would have to do. I followed her down various hallways until she came to a door that looked different from the other doors. Suddenly, something startled the girl, and she looked around frightened. I shrank further into my hiding place and the girl lumbered past me. The girl who’d helped me carry the injured girl appeared and said something to the door, then slipped a piece of paper underneath. The door opened, and the girl went inside, not quite closing the door. The first girl who I’d been following walked past and pushed open the door. I quickly followed her inside, just before the door closed. Mortalitas was stuck on the other side. “You okay?” I thought at her. “I’m fine.” came the reply.
“Can you keep talking to me over a distance?”
“Yeah. Go!”
I slunk along the walls, keeping in the shadows.
((What? I was going to ask you out! Oh well meet you there.))
((Sorry! Could we pretend Halena bumped into Terrance in the hallway or something like that?))
((Hotaria is welcome to room with Hyacinith, if she so wants.))
(( I’ll room with her))
((We can’t have too many people who aren’t invited crashing the meeting. That would spoil the fun, and seriously, how many uninvited people are going to be able to hide in a dorm room?))
Kali came back, and she and Siriana got ready for the CotD meeting. Siriana grabbed her invitation, and they left quietly, flitting between shadows and dark corners. Siriana felt jittery–maybe it was her power rushing back, excitement, or both. They halted when they spotted someone else in the hallway. It was the guy who alerted the stymphalian attack. They froze. He moved off down another hallway, and Siriana sent a shadow of power after him, sucking all light particles out of the air and leaving him in total blackness. If he got lost, oh well. They ran to the Egyptian wing. The hieroglyphics almost seemed to glow. She slipped the envelope under, whispered the password, and the door swung open, and they went down a short hallway into the room. Siriana was surprised to find that Halena was already there–she had seemed like she was on the good side. Leaving Kali, she sat in the absolute darkest corner of the chamber.
((Hyacinth isn’t crashing it: she just wants to see what’s up.))
((Does that extend to Clee though? I already had her whole plan in mind…))
((Nope. Do whatever you want.))
(( can Hannah be very popular?))
((Popular as in “having many friends,” or popular as in “snobby?”))
((Both. Snobby too people with a bad history with her))
((I feel as though this thread is going downhill. I think that we need to NOT MAKE ANY MORE NEW CHARACTERS. Instead, we have got to focus on what we’re going to do with our dying plot.))
((INFORMATION ABOUT THE COTD ROOM FOLLOWS IN THIS PARAGRAPH!))
The large meeting space of the CoTD was concealed beneath a door lining the east Egyptian wing. People would learn, once they opened the door, that it was actually a long, vertical slide tunnel made of cold stone. They would jump down, down into the pit att the end of the short hallway, and fall down the tunnel, which would curve them out into the inner chamber. The room itself was actually a former classroom, with steps resembling stone bleachers lining three of the four walls. The last wall had a long five-seat podium on which the five main leaders would be perched momentarily.
As always, Adrian was the first to arrive. He entered the chamber with a cocky stride, shuffling some parchment he had brought along and setting up at the center podium. The dark, dank atmosphere of the underworldly room pleased him so much that he even felt at home there. The antigods of every pantheon stared down at the room from large, cryptic paintings on the walls and ceilings. He prepared his welcome speech while he waited for James.
A few moments later, in shuffled Eloni and Ako, muttering and bickering amongst themselves as they occupied the podiums to the left and right of him. James followed shortly thereafter, looking somewhat forlorn and reluctant to be there, still wearing a torn and bloody shirt and sporting a large blossoming purple bruise to his forehead. Adrian had remained unscarred during the battle. The last to arrive was Kenji, who sat at the farthest podium and put his feet up on the black stone with an annoyingly assumed sense of superiority.
After these five had assembled, newcomers began to shoot out of the tunnel slide and plopped onto the floor. They then assumed their seats on the stone bleachers.
((I’m here, but I think I need to wait before RPing Clee’s entrance into the CoftD.))
((Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is CoTD?))
A few minutes later, a nurse comes and looks me over, then says I’m free to go.
“Uh… where should I go now?” I ask.
“Back to your dormitory,” she replies briskly, picking up a clipboard and moving to the next bed, where a kid has a broken arm.
“But…”
“Yes?” she asks, turning back to me a little irritably.
“Well, I’m, uh, not a student. My dad sent me here and I got caught in the middle of the fight, so to speak..”
She raises her eyebrows. “Well, then… wait here a minute,” and without explanation dashes off someplace.
((The evil group, the Council of the Dead.))
((Hello, anyone? Am I the only one here?))
((I’m here, but this thread is dying a slow, painful death…and I’m not sure what to write.))
((Waiting for others to post…))
(( who wants to room with hanna?))
On my first night,I reflected, everyone was missing. when i went to find someone to help me find a schedule, i found a parchement piece of paper that looked like an invitation, and read it. it had a mini map. i wish i had some water nearby, I spotted a water fountain and stuck my head under it. “wherever this map leads us!” i dissapeared.
((Your character doesn’t seem evil, and I think that the less people who join the Co TD the better, so I think it would be best if you didn’t PP a “good” character into this part of the plot.))
((yeah i wa s think of re-posting her. and re-making her.
NEW PROFILE
Spring galidine
Daughter of Demeter
powers: controls plants and turns into plants.
personality: shy, keeps to herself, ( but when she hates you… BEWARE! )
appearence: Red hair with green eyes ,exactly 5 feet.
((Isn’t that the exact same name as your character on the MA RPG?))
((why yes. yes it is.))
((May I ask why?))
(( I had a lack of imagination.))
((Please! I’m standing by right now, as Victoria is good for now and therefore doesn’t know about CotD, but we need them to plot and scheme, otherwise the whole plotline collapses. That means that, if possible, no-one or as few as possible people discover them. Too early discovery-> destruction -> no evil scheme -> nothing to do but RP days at school -> boredom -> dead RPG. Aggie’s got all the CotD deatails figured out. RQ, may I PP Ilkora? She would be at the meeting, I think.))
((I’m also standing by, waiting for the meeting to start. I’m sorry I haven’t been around–both Bismarck and I had a hectic week.))
((I’m also waiting, since my character isn’t evil and right now is fast asleep, I presume.))
((*sighs* It seems as if the thread is dead/dying. All CoTD members should probably start RPing now. ))
((Solon has nothing to do, either.
P.S.
Is there anyone who might be remotely interested in interacting with Solon? He has spoken to exactly zero people, and I can only write so much without dialogue.))
((Honestly, relax people! This isn’t dying just because RPing is slow for a while. I’m sure the CotD members will find their way back in the near future (besides Aggie, that is.)))
((AGGIE, WE NEED A SCHEDULE!!!!!!!!!
78-Yeah, most of the new CotD members are on hold right now, because we need Aggie to do the schedule or something.))
((Aggie, did you have any kind of agenda for the meeting?))
((Sorry for not being around, people. But Clee is sort of in a Pause mode until some evil people start posting the Council of the Dead meeting. Just though I’d check in.))
((Sorry, I’m really busy lately. What did you have in mind for an agenda? As far as I know, in this meeting I was planning to conduct a background check on the new members and test their powers, then the heads of council would eliminate those who appeared to be spies. NEXT meeting, we could get the soul-sucking tools passed out. Or, if there’s absolutely no plot right now we could do it today.
I’ll need other people to contribute and PP when I’m away, though. I’ve just got a lot going on right now.))
((80-Okay, that sounds good. We weren’t exactly sure what to post for the meeting, so that gives us something to go on. Thanks! *gives choklit*))
Halena
Terrance went in first. There was a yelling sound, followed by something like wind. I cautiously followed and tripped into a slide, if that’s what you would call it. I plopped on the hard stone floor, hurting my dignity as well as my bottom. Quickly, I sat up, brushed myself off, and went over to sit near Terrance. A couple of people were already there, rubbing their bottoms too.
((That’s about all I can post until other people arrive.))
((Ok, I’m back.)) I walked back into the school. It looked as amazing as it did before I went on vacation. I dropped down my 20 bags,(super strength)and went to register again.
((What is Halena going to do now?))
((Oh I don’t know…her infatuation has probably faded. ;)))
((Although having two courters is an interesting plot twist…))
((Team Terrance or Team Mason?))
((I have my own team?))
((Yeah. Who’s Halena going to go for?))
((See, while you were away, Bismark joined (so did I) and his character (Terrance) and Halena have a thing for one another. You snooze you lose!))
((Yeah…)
I walked into the office and said,”I’m here to register. I’ve been here before.”
The lady at the desk said, “Oh, you must be Mason.” I told her I was, so she gave me a card with a number on it. I asked what it is.
She answered, “Thats your dorm room number.”
I walked down the hall lokking for my dormitory.
(( can sombody PP my character? I have writers block.))

((*pokes and prods people who RP on this thread* COME BACK!!!))
((Hi. I’m not sure what I can do right now, although I have been checking this thread regularly, it’s just that no one is posting and my character is sort of stuck.))
((I think everyone is waiting for the CotD meeting to happen and for agrrrfishi to post an agenda for it. My character is asleep.))
((REVIVE!!!!! EVIL CHARACTERS COME BACK!!!! All the good people are stuck waiting for the CotD meeting to finish before we can wake up.))
((I’ll try to do something with the COtD meeting.))
After sliding down the stone tunnel, Siriana and Kali got up and advanced farther into the room. It was very dark, and the only light came from flickering black candles. The feeble light lit up the eerie Egyptian pictures on the wall. The five leaders of the COtD sat on a slightly raised platform–James, Ako, Eloni, and Kenji, with Adrian in the middle. Some chairs were haphazardly scattered about in the room. Kali boldly sat down, and Siriana stood in a shadowy corner, able to observe who was in the room. ((I’m assuming everyone who SHOULD be here is here already.)) People didn’t seem to be so inclined to talk to each other. Finally, Adrian stood up.
“ Fellow ninjas ” “Honored guests,” he said. “Welcome to the first meeting of the Council of the Dead. Let me tell you that once you are in this organization, you cannot back out. Seeing as you’ve all accepted my invitation, I expect complete loyalty from you all. To back out now would be…well, let’s say that it would be a stupid thing to do.” Behind him, Eloni and Ako snickered, then glared at each other. “The only reason the school doesn’t know about us is because we’ve made sure that no one has ever told them. Cast aside any foolish dreams you may have of betraying us. If you want real power and real glory, this is the way to get it. Now, to business…”
((I really don’t know what else you had in mind, Aggie, and I hope this beginning was adequate. I just wanted to get the ball rolling somehow.))
((You guys can PP my characters as much as you want! I’m sorry about this, I just have got a lot going on right now…))
((That’s OK, agrrrfishi. You’re not the only evil character on here, however. Where has everyone got to?))
((90- I’m here… Ish. I haven’t been, and my computer time’s been spotty. I’ll post something.))
KALI:
I walked in with Siriana, not talking much. We got to the room, and I looked around. Dark- perfectly fine by me, I had absolutely no trouble seeing in the dark. No neat rows- again fine. Order made me feel confined. I sat down. The leaders were on a platform, obviously to make us feel inferior. I figured there was no point to feel such things, since they were only above us until they displeased us.
The leader started talking. Telling us all about how we shouldn’t tell, etc. etc. I almost wanted to go tell on them, just because they were so insistent that we shouldn’t. I probably wouldn’t, of course. No real point to it, and they almost certainly weren’t kidding, about it being stupid.
Also, power and glory sounded like fun.
Meilin
I woke up in the middle of the night, thinking I had heard something. Ingrid and Clee were both still fast asleep. I had probably imagined it, so I went back to sleep, which was undisturbed until morning came.
((That, my friends, is what you call posting something without saying anything at all.))
((This thread has been stuck at 172 posts for almost a week. We’re in the middle of an evil meeting, and all the good characters are sleeping. Please, please, please will the bad guys post.))
((Revive?))
((-revival poke-))
((Yes!))
After explaining the basic principles of being a member of the CoTD (in other words, the need to keep one’s mouth shut about the activities of the club, dedication to the success of the mission, and creating general all-around badness wherever they went), Adrian and the others conducted individual background checks on each of the new members. They were required to give their human parent and their god parent, their prior experience with evil tasks, their supernatural abilities, if any, and, just for protection, their social security number. “Strictly business,” said Eloni, when a newbie whined a tad about the latter question.
The final task was the most sinister. To each member, James and Adrian passed a small, back tool shaped like a pencil, but with a sharp metal tip and a small golden orb attached to the end. Instructions on how to use these tools were included. Into a secret compartment on the side of the tool, a small spell was enclosed, and when read it would cause the tool to perform its’ function. Looks of slight shock were on the faces of some students as they received their tools.
When everyone had received a tool, Adrian looked around the room, staring at each and every member. “Now that we have an understanding,” he said coldly, “anyone who reveals the true task of this group will have their information exposed to the most evil gods of the pantheon. You will never continue your life without the curses of each one following you everywhere you go- that is, if we allow you to live.”
The meeting concluded with a recitation of the group motto, and a swift dismissal. The people filed out slowly, muttering under their breath about the events of the evening.
“I feel good about this year,” said Adrian, walking stiffly next to James as they were the last to leave the meeting room. “I think we may actually accomplish Father’s goals this time.”
“Meh,” James replied, not paying attention. He was counting the bricks on the stone floor, trying to forget that he had ever involved himself in such a group. The small black tool was clutched in his sweaty palm, glistening under the torchlight.
The tool was small, deadly, and evil. He wanted to cast it away as soon as it touched his palm.
He recalled what Adrian had said the tools would do. When placed into the wrist of a demigod, the tool would proceed to suck out that person’s powers, their personality…their soul.
((Thank you!!!!!!!! *gives a tonne of choklit*))
((As I have just got back from a long boredom period in which I hadn’t posted at all, I want to come back and this time, I want to bring a slightly evil character. Sarae (remember her?) has run away from camp, so don’t expect to be seeing her anytime soon. If you will allow me, I will show Kezo, 17-year-old son of Anubis, who is mostly evil and enjoys killing plants (but not people or animals, isn’t that odd?), to the camp. If you will not allow me to bring him, I will sniffle loudly and cry in a corner and not post again for another long while. Okay? ))
((BTW, he knows about the gods and all that, he knows why he’s here. He also knows about the CotD, and he wants to…”join”, you could call it that. Though the other members are in for quite a time. He knows everything, almost. That’s because he’s been here for quite a while, but he hasn’t taken any classes or slept in the regular dormitories. He thinks school is boring.))
Kezo had been watching the meeting. After everyone left, he stole a tool. He had been stealing magical items for most of his life. It was a second nature to him. He may have been evil, but he knew why he was stealing it. If he knew anything at all, in fact, it was that he didn’t like these people. They spoke of not just killing, but worse. Kezo was fine with death. He knew death. He was half death god himself. But this was different. And these people would get what was coming to them.
((The only thing I ask is that the mission of the CoTD is NOT EXPOSED to anyone outside the group by ANY characters, yet. That would kind of kill the plotline.))
((Oops sorry, I just wrote the post below without reading this through first…*headdesk* You can ignore my post below in that case, I’ll hold off from having her stumble across the meeting for awhile. Once again sorry.))
((I’ll write out Clee’s post unless anyone wants to PP her or take over her character. I’m sort of expecting her to come across the Cotd meeting by accident and show off her transformation skills when hopefully the members of the CotfD will decide they want to use her to do their dirty work. (without her understanding their true motives since she’s dumb. She’s essentially good, but like I said, is too unintelligent to understand this.) She’s open to anyone who wants the character, but if no one wants to take her, I’ll just continue with it.))
((Yay, revival! You evil people just let us know when the meeting’s over, so we can continue with the next day, ‘kay?))
((Meeting’s already over! We can get back to the plot now. ))
First off, Kezo studied the tool. It seemed sinister. So he decided to change that. He tried the most direct approach, trying to suck away its powers. In reply, Kezo was hit with a shock wave that might have killed him if he hadn’t have protected himself first. Dizzily, he sat up. The world flickered. “Okay, not that way,” he managed, gritting his teeth. “What other tricks do you have up your sleeve?”
((Okay, CotD people! Is the tool invincible or not? If so, how does one defeat it? Don’t worry, I won’t let Kezo discover it soon, if at all. What were the side effects of that incident? Will he be discovered? If so, when?))
((102- I’m confused. What is your character’s power? And if he wants to join the CoTD, why is he trying to destroy the soul-sucking tool? For that matter, where did he get one? Adrian only passed them out to specific people.))
((REVIVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE))
((WHAT SHE SAID))
MEILIN
Ingrid’s watch beeped and I sat up, suddenly awake. I checked my own clock and saw that there was still quite some time before breakfast started. Oh, whatever, I thought. I got out of bed and rummaged through my closet for something I could wear. I finally decided on a purple tank top with jean shorts with my favourite pair of sneakers. Seeing as there was still half an hour before everyone else was awake, I settled back down on my bed with a book, waiting for Ingrid and Clee to wake up.
((@agrrrfishi: His powers are killing things. He doesn’t want to join them. He wants to spy on them, discover their secrets, and destroy them. BTW, this may or may not work. Preferably not. And he stole a tool. He’s probably going to be caught in a few posts anyway, and killed and/ or sucked into a tool, but I would like it if he was put through torture. Not killed. I don’t want to lose Kezo just yet…))
((I don’t think that his ‘destroying’ them would be too beneficial to the plot right now, but if you want him to be captured or something we could do that!))
“Omorose?”
Her mother said her name, softly and slowly. A golden cradle in a dark room, that smelled of must and dirt. So faintly, the scent of an ethnic perfume filled her lungs. She looked up at the face, beautiful yet so sad, distant, but so close that she could have touched it. The almond-shaped brown eyes were just like hers. The face was so familiar. And suddenly, it was gone. And instead of her mother, there was a long scream, and a flash of light that surrounded her…And everything was so white, and so still…
Omorose woke up the next morning feeling so tired, for no explainable reason. Fatima was still sound asleep, so she crept quietly out of bed and went to the bathroom. She washed her face for a full ten minutes, trying to wake herself up to no avail. She then changed out of her pajamas into a white cotton halter dress with some pretty beads on the trim, and fixed her hair nicely. Deciding to let Fatima sleep, she put on her sandals and went down to the Great Hall for breakfast.
((Sidra…Felina…Varete…which two should I bring back? Varete was the prankster girl; Sidra was the girl with flame powers, and Felina’s a catgirl.))
((Varete and Sidra.))
((Seconded.))
((Mmhmm. Varete was the weight gain prank girl in part 2, though; so I’m not sure how decent or safe bringing her back is.
Felina can be brought back as well, I guess; I mean, I play four different characters in BATANG, so three isn’t a problem.))
((It’s up to you. Personally I think Varete would be useful to have around if we ever needed a plot twist (such as the weight gain prank), and she doesn’t always have to be pranking if it messes up the story.))
((Yeah.
Well, her power is Growth…all sorts of growth. Plant growth, animal growth, body mass growth…it’s really what I feel like.))
It was nearly time for breakfast. “Let’s see. Which skull t-shirt should I wear today?” I wondered to myself. I paid my roommate no attention, and he returned the favor.
((Is it to late to join?))
(( Nope. Not at all.))
((Ok…. Are we allowed to be children of the big three? I want to be a daughter of Posiedon because I want to be able to talk to horses….))
((Well, for one thing, this isn’t the Percy Jackson universe, so there is no ‘big three’. Secondly, child of Poseidon =/= talking to horses. Or, it means you might be able to, but some other powers won’t be there. I suggest looking for a different mythology’s god of horses.))
((Ah… so it is not just greek gods?))
((Nope. A few people have egyptian gods, I think there’s some Aztec in there somewhere, but that’s beside the point. Be creative!))
((If you want your character to be able to talk to horses, I would suggest Epona, the Celtic/Roman goddess of horses.))
(( To reconnect to this thread, i’m making a better character. So i will have a total of 1.
Name: Alexandra Calndro
Age: 11 and a half
parent, Human parent unknown, Godly parent: Bast, the eygyptian goddess of cats
Powers: She can turn into a cat and talk to cats.sees in the dark. And when she’s angry, she turns into a lion.
weakness: she can’t swim, she hates getting wet (showers are acceptations) she is actually afraid of water, although she denies it.
appearence: Dark blond hair with black streaks. Green cat-like eyes.
Personality: Sneaky, prank loving, very mischievous. ))
((Thanks… Here she is:
Name: Adela O’Malley
Age: 13, almost 14
Parents: Epona, the Celtic Goddess of Horses (and fertility) and an unknown Irishman.
Powers: She can talk to horses, and turn into a horse; most often a Chesnut mare though not always…. She can also call on horses when necassary… Also has a bit of a green thumb
Weakness: Dosen’t do well alone, as horses are herd animals… Also tends to put others lives before her own
Appearence: fire red har with streak of an orangey blond. Clover green eyes and very tall….
Personality:Very kind but has a firey temper at times. Talks with an irish accent when mad. Can also be a bit rebellious and mischevious))
((Does this mean we have three (or four, I can’t remember) children of Bastet now?))
((That’s a cat goddess for you.))
(( Very true. I think that her kids in this RPG should start some kind of club.))
((Are they all from the same litter?))
((Quite possibly! It kind of makes you wonder, doesn’t it…))

This is 31 freaking characters! We are killing at least 15 off. If anyone on this list has not posted within a month, tell me.))
((Thanks for the list, it’s very helpful.
The majority of my characters are on Team Evil, I’d get rid of them but most of these characters are good.))
((Felina can be retconned into being in Team Evil? Felina could take Cleo’s place (as Cleo’s gone now); and since she’s a cat, she’s counted as Lawful Evil since she can’t change her insticts. And Varete is Chaotic Neutral, so could easily join Team Evil if asked.
We need a character alignment sheet.
Lawful good is the REALLY GOOD BY THE BOOK characters, neutral good is the guys who are just good anyways, and chaotic good is the ones who tend to be a bit crazy and unpredictable but are good anyways. The other’s should be understandable from that.
LAWFUL GOOD
NEUTRAL GOOD
CHAOTIC GOOD
LAWFUL NEUTRAL
TRUE NEUTRAL
Sidra (Witchneko)
CHAOTIC NEUTRAL
Varete (Witchneko)
LAWFUL EVIL
Felina (Witchneko)
NEUTRAL EVIL
CHAOTIC EVIL))
((Well, I made Ako and Eloni solely for the purpose of giving Team Evil more body, so I guess they could die for the cause.
I’d say that Adrian is a mix of Lawful and Chaotic evil, but more Lawful.
Omorose is probably Chaotic Good.
Eloni is Chaotic Evil, as well as Ako.
And James is probably Chaotic Neutral, but leaning more towards Chaotic Good.))
((Halena and Hyacinth are both Chaotic Good. Mikazuki is Neutral Good.))
((Erin is definitely True Neutral.))
(( I killed bella. Now I have Maggi.))
(( Whoops, I mean Alex. Does anyone need a roommate?))
((I’m here, but I’ve been out so long I’m not sure how to RP Erin back in. I think I’ll just write a post about him doing some sort of everyday Erin stuff ( ) and then follow the story until I can get him back in…
Also I had an idea for another character to be Erin’s friend but it seems like maybe we have enough as it is?))
((We’re thinking of killing half the characters off if their people don’t come back.
))
Oh, what fun.
Is that a yes?
((Well we’re all just waking up, so you can start the day with the rest of us!))
((What day is it? Erin has a weird sleep cycle.))
((I think it’s only the second day of school!
Boy, we need to get a plot going. ))
((Like Sudo, I’m not really following the plot at this point, so I suppose I’ll just continue writing in Clee’s usual annoying tone and then hopefully get back into it…))
((WHAT?
Okay, then in that case I’ll assume it’s a Tuesday?))
((Scratch the makes things grow part — Maya’s power is that her senses are heightened in the dark and that she can sink into the shadows. Maya would be a True Neutral.))
Alex:
I yawned and woke up for the millionth time. This time, I pulled my hair back into a ponytail, and I put on a Cheshire cat T-shirt and jeans. I turned into a cat and roamed the hallways.
(( excuse me while I repost this.))
I ran back from the cafeteria, Giggling. I saw my rommate, Eloni climbing Into her bed. I shrunk into a cat and peered up. It was a note.
Thank you for attending the Council of the Dead’s first meeting. Be reminded that if it leaks, that tool goes into your wrist!
– Adrian.
” So that’s where you were. ” I said, interested.
” Whats it to you?” She started.(( Sorry for the PP agrrifishi.)) ” Relax, I think I want to join too. And I won’t tell.” I said. I yawned, and curled up into a ball,
((I’m around. I’ll probably post a bit more later.))
Halena yawned her way back to her room. In her hand was the tool that the CoD had given her. She shuddered at its capabilities. Opening her door, she flopped onto the bed and slept for an hour or so. When she woke up, she was feeling even less well than before. ((Koppar, sorry for PPing Tala!)) Halena stumbled to the bathroom, where Tala was already getting washed up. “G’morning,” Halena mumbled. Tala turned. “Oh hi, Halena!” she said brightly. “How did you sleep?”
“Hypnos was kind to me,” I lied. Better not let let Tala know what she was up to. “I slept like the blessed dead.” halena quickly brushed her teeth and washed her deathly pale skin. She brushed and tied her hair back up in a white ribbon. Walking back into her room, she chose out a black skull shirt, black spiderweb-y jacket-thing, and a long dark purple skirt that went down to her feet, which she left barefoot.
((PLOT IDEA to get everyone back on track:
Okay, I re-read the thread and it seems that what we wanted to do next has been summarized by post #1:
“GENERAL CONSENSUS ABOUT PLOT UNTIL THIS POINT:
It’s NOT time for an epic battle yet. This could be something to try our strengths. The first “quest” or task after the birds seems to be option #1:
1# Mr Fenlauten is possessed by an old, evil *insert mythology here* spirit of chaos/destruction/killing all demigods and sends everyone on a camping trip, where most get killed by monsters (advantage- plenty of heroic deaths). Of course, the camping trip is announced officially, so they have to find out whodunit and who sent the evil spirit, e.t.c…
diagnostic.
When the epic battle DOES come, it will have something to do with the COTD and gathering souls.”
So maybe this ‘camping trip’ can be announced at breakfast?))
((so what is going on?))
((It’s the second day at the academy.))
((Everyone’s waking up and coming to breakfast. Basically, read post 119, and you can pretty easily RP your character back in.))
((Ahh… Didn’t see that…))
Kezo had managed to drag himself into the bushes for the night. When he awoke, he felt even worse. But he could at least stand. For an instant, he thought of asking for help. He immediately was furious at himself. Ask for help from these people? Had he lost his mind? Actually, he thought grimly, compared to what he was going through, losing his mind sounded like a pretty good alternative.
Then he had an idea. A crazy, insane idea. Shakily standing up, he hid the stolen tool in his robes. Then he walked toward the front gates.
“Kezo, you have lost it completely,” he muttered to himself.
CLEE:
I yawned and rolled over in bed lazily. It seemed like I finally was no longer fat and back inside my own bed – what a relief. I pulled the covers back over my head, trying to shield away the blinding sunlight, with little success. As my stomach began to grumble, I figured that it must be time to get breakfast…
((Sorry, that was lame…but I had to get it started somehow.))
(( Alex needs to room with COTD member. She’ll find out while on a prank run, and then she’ll say that she wants to join.I can RP the camping announcment.))
((As long as she doesn’t tell anybody about the club, I don’t see why she couldn’t room with Eloni.))
(( Okay. ))
Alex
I stretched, and walked into my closet.
” Whitch various cat themed shirt should I wear today? ” I said. I picked the Cats! T-shirt. When I snuck out, Eloni was still asleep. I wondered why people sleep so long, and than woke her up, before I had a jigglypuff moment. ” Wake up! Quick! Seriously, I have a pen with me. Jigglypuff-” I don’t know if she woke up but I hurried out of the room, because today might be a good day and their pancakes would rival the Orignal Pancake House. Just as I sat down with my milk, an annoucement was made. ” Attention please. ” Mr F said. Everyone stated at him.
Eloni was rudely awoken to the sound of her roommate Alex, making a nonsensical announcement involving something regarding Jigglypuffs. Eloni grunted in disapproval.
“Stupid freshman,” she grumbled, getting out of bed to take a shower. She recalled her conversation the previous evening in which Alex had expressed a desire to join the Council. “I suppose it couldn’t hurt,” she mused, washing the knots out of her thick mat of hair.
She pulled on a plain black tee shirt and a long skirt, pulling back her hair and putting on her round-framed glasses. She then proceeded to go down to breakfast.
When she arrived, Ako and Adrian were already there. She sat down, ignoring them both as she picked at a stack of pancakes.
“Long time, no smell,” Ako commented snidely, peering down his nose at her.
“Shut up,” she snapped. “I’m not in the mood this morning.”
“All right now, relax,”Adrian said. “No need to get all worked up. Today is going to be a busy day.”
Meanwhile, Omorose sat down at the long table next to Halena and put a few chocolate chip pancakes on her plate. “Good morning,” she said to Halena. “How are you today?”
“Good,” she replied.
“Glad to hear it,” Omorose smiled, and took a bite of food.
Suddenly, Mr. Fenlauten stood up at a podium at the head of the room. He had a strange, blankly serious expression on his face as he spoke.
“Attention please, students,” he intoned, and the room fell silent. “Today, you will be skipping all of your classes to go on a camping trip in the woods. Please gather items from your dormitories accordingly after you finish eating and meet the group of teachers out in the front courtyard by the fountain at 10:00 this morning.”
Maya~
I woke up early that morning yanked on a pair of capris and a tee-shirt, slid on some sandals, and made my way down to the library. I was feeling particularly restless, and felt as if I hadn’t had much sleep. After reading for about an hour, I exited the peace and quiet of my favorite place in the school, and walked to the mess hall, meeting up with Alexandria in the corridors. I sat down with her and a few others, and was just taking a bite of a cinnamon raisin bagel when Mr. Fenlauten made an announcement.
“Attention please, students,” he said in a “dead” voice. The babble of morning conversation died away. “Today, you will be skipping all of your classes to go on a camping trip in the woods. Please gather items from your dormitories accordingly after you finish eating and meet the group of teachers out in the front courtyard by the fountain at 10:00 this morning.” He went on to say, “We will be staying in cabins, but you should pack blankets and warm clothing. We hope that you will sincerely enjoy this trip.” He stepped off the podium, the “dead” look still on his face.
The babble of talk immediately started up again, except, this time, the topic was all about the trip: what to pack, who they wanted to room with, and most importantly, why this was happening.
((Hope this is okay. Cabins seemed more convenient than tents — you can’t expect the students to bring sleeping bags, and it takes a while to set up tents. We don’t have to specifically arrange who stays with who.))
Alex
I thought we should room with our half siblings, But that was beause I didn’t know anyone. Well, there was Eloni, But that didn’t really count. Of course, this probably was one of those Lets Go Get Killed trips, but I was used to it.I ran over to Eloni and asked quietly, ” Did you ask Adrian yet?”
Halena groaned. The last thing she needed was another sleepless night. She half-heartedly ate a few bites of pancakes, then pushed her plate away. “Not hungry,” she muttered, and got up to go back to her room and start packing.
~~~~~
Hyacinth’s mind was still reeling with what she’d seen last night. That tool…it gave her goosebumps just thinking about what it could do. She’d barely managed to get out of there without being seen. But the camping trip sounded fun. There would be cabins, Mr. Fenlauten had said, but Hyacinth decided to bring her own tent anyways. She sat down at a nearby table and dug into a stack of pancakes dripping in syrup and butter.
Hyacinth looked up from shoveling her fourth pancake into her mouth. A hauntingly familiar girl had gotten up from her table and was making her way back to the dorms. Hyacinth put her fork down and quickly wiped her mouth, then got up to join the girl. “Hey,” she said once she caught up to her. “You look a bit familiar…have we met? I’m Hyacinth, but you can call me Hya or Cinth, if that works.”
~~~~~
Halena looked at Hyacinth closely. Something seemed familiar about her face…oh well. “I’m Halena. It’s nice to meet you.” she said quietly. “I’m just heading back to my room to pack up…I had a bit of a sleepless night and wasn’t very hungry.”
~~~~~
Hyacinth laughed a bit. “That’s strange. Me too! Hey, d’ya wanna be tent-mates? I’m brining my tent ’cause I like it better. Well, I’m going to go to my room and grab my stuff. See ya around!” Hyacinth jogged the rest of the way to her room, where she quickly threw some clothes, her DS with a few games, and her tent into an old-fashioned suitcase. She closed the lid and heaved it to the door.
~~~~~
Halena blinked. She hadn’t even had time to say no…oh, well. Hyacinth had seemed nice. Halena walked back to her room and carefully packed a few t-shirts, long pants, bug repellent, thick books, and a warm blanket into her ying-yang patterned duffel bag, which she placed by the door. “Nothing to do but wait,” she said aloud.
((SilverLeopard, I think that’s fine.))
Alex paced. Was it possible to be alone in a cabin? Would she be allowed in the COTD? She watched as everyone but her chose their cabin mates.
“I don’t know,” Eloni said, shoving off Alex. “Go ask him yourself.”
Adrian snickered a bit under his breath. “What can you offer us?” he asked the freshman, who was spacing out, pacing next to Eloni.
” Well, I can make cats do whatever I want. And that includes lions, tiger, leapords, cheetahs…” I started.
” Okay, we get it.” Adrian said.
“- And I can control smells.” I finished.
((Solon is neutral good))
This school was amazing! A simple breakfast here was the same amount of food they had served us in a week back at the orphanage. And you could choose, too! “Well, father, whoever you are, I’m thankful to you for this,” I thought to myself. Everyone was they were eating pancakes, which were so big I couldn’t eat a whole one if I tried. I instead opted for a half of a grapefruit, though even that would have been more than I would have eaten in a day a couple of weeks ago. I rarely topped 500 calories a day there, mostly because the small portions they served were meat, which I would rather have died than eaten. You weren’t ever full in my where I had been. The contrast was amazing. Life at the orphanage had been hard, but I was here now.
((Solon was raised in an orphanage. He is malnourished, and weighs only 54 pounds. His view of food is different than most.))
Alex explored, hoping to find some other random demigod who can talk to cats. ” Fat chance. ” I said. ” I’m probably the only child of Bast. Scratch that. The only child of any eygyptian god/goddess.”
Kezo heard the announcement. “A trip. Gah…” he muttered. No chance of getting to know these Council of the Dead people on a trip. He imagined himself making a tent and sitting around a campfire. He almost threw up at the idea… or maybe that was another side effect of his encounter with the tool. But he had to go: that was for certain.
Last night, Kezo had gone into the main building. He had “enrolled” at the school, if that’s what you’d call it. He wasn’t sure what he needed to do to gain the trust of these people. Now he had the perfect opportunity.
While everyone else ate and packed, he found a spot to pack his few belongings. Kezo had a sort of quirk in that he liked electronic games. He scolded himself often for being so childlike, but even so, he had stolen a DSi from a store. This, plus some games and his clothes, went into his black backpack. Then, when no-one was looking, he snuck in the tool. Hopefully nobody snooped through people’s stuff here- that had been a problem at the first and only other place he’d gone to.
He slung the backpack over his shoulder and started to explore.
Maya~
I tramped back up to my room after stuffing my bagel into my mouth. Maybe I’ll wait to find someone to room with, I thought, After all, we won’t be there that long, so it won’t matter. At least, I hope we won’t be there for long. I yanked out my backpack from under the bed. What will the trip be like? I wondered, What will we do? Why is this happening? Is it some sort of test? I put a spare pair of clothes and some spare sneakers in my bag, as well as bug spray, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a hair brush. If it is a test, what is it on? Will they send us out in the woods? Will we have to fight? Or is it just for fun? I added a sweatshirt and a folded sheet. Why would we be going if it was just for fun? They wouldn’t want us to miss a whole day of class if it was for fun. That was a chilling thought, and I shut my brain up as I stuffed a fleecy blanket on top. I was starting to sound like a worrywart.
I ran to my room and packed heavily. I had a feeling Adrian had something to do with this, and that we would be there for a while. I also packed my magic ring. It was givien to me by my mother. It would send me to the nearest clan of cats.
((Please don’t bring any elements of the Warrior cats series into this, it would just complicate things.))
(( By clan I mean group of cats. She lived with lions, so it would help her.))
((Okay, just making sure. ))
((I won’t start my character yet, as I am going away for 3 weeks with little internet access… but when I do start my character has not learned she is a demigod yet…))
((Yeah, but if she’s at the academy for demigods… or are you going to start her out of the school?))
((Eep! Sorry everyone, I’ve been gone forever! I’ll try to get a hold of Bismarck and make him come back too.))
((Starting from the CotD meeting))
Siriana turned the small black tool over in her hand. Something that would suck out someone’s soul? Ummmmmmm…OK. It wasn’t totally useful to what she wanted to do, but she supposed it was intimidating enough. ((Dementor’s Kiss, anyone?))
Siriana walked into breakfast just in time to hear that everyone was going on a camping trip. Excellent. That would be a prime time to steal things, and she had an idea that she wanted to try out. A smirk crossed her face as she sat down next to Ako at the CotD table.
“Hey, darkness child,” Ako greeted her at the same time that Eloni said, “Who invited you?” Siriana didn’t say anything and Eloni contented herself with a sneer. Meanwhile…
“A camping trip?” Ingrid said to Meilin, her eyes wide.
“Is there something wrong with that?”
“Of course there’s something wrong with that,” Clee snapped, shutting her compact. “A camping trip involves things like BUGS. And DIRT. And,” she tossed her hair back. “Even if there were cute boys at this school, they would be so gross that it wouldn’t even matter. Why are you looking at me like that?”
Meilin and Ingrid burst into laughter.
(( Maybe Siriana could steal the horn, and almost send Alex away. ))
((How will they be going? I hope not by regular school bus- that would be boring. Of course, it’s probably the best option, what with the whole “making the public think we are normal” thing. Aka blending in. But just please come up with how they are to leave, or I can’t post!))
((In response to Mango and a suggestion for everyone else–how about a hike to go camping? The campsite needn’t be dreadfully far away from the school.))
((That sounds fine.))
((‘Kay! Thanks, vanillabean!))
Kezo stood in the middle of the hall uncomfortably. He didn’t like being in the open, and besides, he hated even a small number of people being around him. He preferred the shadows, dark spaces where he could see clearly without anyone in the way. He started to involuntarily remember his days at the Derrville School for Orphans, and felt dizzy.
“Hey, are you okay?” a voice said. A person was standing in front of him. Kezo started to walk away. “I-I’m fine,” he said a little loudly. He felt really weak all of a sudden. His backpack, still containing the stolen tool, burned against his back. He took it off, sweating. Looking behind him, the person was still there. “Are you sure you’re okay?” they asked. Kezo opened his mouth, but he quickly closed it. “I’m fine. Go away!” And with that, he grabbed his backpack and sped off.
((The person can be whoever you like. I don’t care.))
((Why is nobody posting???))
((POST, PEOPLE!!!!))
At ten o’clock everyone was assembled with their camping gear. It was already promising to be a warm day. Stupid sun, Siriana thought as she glared up at it. Maybe someday she could manage to turn it off, but that day was not today. The gates swung open and Mr. Fenlauten led them out onto the trail.
I walked up to a girl with a backpack that looked like heaven compared to mine. Why did I pack so much? “Hi. I’m Alex. Why do you think we’re camping? Is it some tradition or something? ” I asked.
(( The girl could be anyone. and, POKE PROD POKE PROD! THE BUNNIES WILL EAT THIS THRAD SOON! PIES TO ALL WHO COME! AND ONE OF MY DEBUNNIFYERS! ))
((No pointless posts, please. I’m sure revival will come when more people return.))
A girl walked up to me, shifting her backpack on her shoulders.
“Hi. I’m Alex,” she said, “Why do you think we’re camping? Is it some tradition or something?”
“I haven’t the slightest idea,” I said, “This is my first year here, and I don’t know much yet. I’m worried that it might be some sort of test.”
“But why would they have a test so soon?” asked Alex, “Maybe it’s some sort of thing to help us get to know each other. Or it could be some sort of thing to teach us something.” She didn’t seem too sure about it, though. ((Is that okay, pie girl?))
I nodded, feeling a bit more optimistic now that I could think about happy plausible causes of this seemingly abnormal event. But what could explain the weird way Mr. Fenlauten had acted that morning? I was still a bit creeped out.
One of the teachers balanced on the wide edge of the fountain, and spoke to the crowd of students. “Please assemble in yourselves into groups of 12 ((we probably shouldn’t actually do this — instead pay a bit of attention to who people interact with in their cabins)), girls with girls, boys with boys. The teachers will lead you onto the buses, and we will begin our drive to the campground.”
It took a while to get everyone in a group, but finally we were all on buses, and starting on our way toward the campground.
(( Thumbs up!))
(Elvis is in the building!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but Mr. F is possessed, CotD can suck people’s souls out, Bella is dead, Cat girls have risen, everyone is going camping, and Kezo is gonna go 007. Did I miss anything?
Secondly, my character, Terrance (son of Dionysus), is currently part of two dimensions. One reality leaves him blinded by Siriana wandering the halls of the school and the other took him to the CotD meeting. I was just going to get rid of the Council of the Dead reality–mainly because I don’t want him to risk losing his soul–and just leave him searching for a light. Is this okay with everyone?
I will post soon with plenty of gruesome details that will irrevocably weave Terrance back into the plot. Stay classy, fellow demigods. Bismarck out.)
(The following events took place the previous evening.)
I don’t hate people. I really don’t. Some do a heck of a lot to deserve hatred, but I’m willing to let their pompous odiousness pass me by, even with their obvious need to be hated. Take the scummy twit that I managed to catch a glimpse of before she cast a spell of darkness on me, she has feelings. She has a mother, a father, thoughts, maybe even a blackened and charred soul that is incapable of any ounce of kindness. No she doesn’t deserve hate. She is a paragon.
I stumbled through the darkness pawing at whatever surface or wall I could find. I found one and quickly propped myself up against it and sat on the ground to listen. Sneakers tromped on the floor above and a couple of girls breathed through exhausted giggles. It was no use. I traced my hand up the wall and found what I assumed what must be a room number. I located the door knob and delivered a swift kick against the wooden dormitory’s entrance. It retorted with a wooden croak. I backed away slowly trying to stay parallel to the supposed door and charged at the thing ripping it from its hinges. The effort left me sprawled on the ground in the mess of carpet and splinters.
I righted myself and reached for the light switch that must be there. It flipped on, and I got a dull sense of my surroundings. A Jonas Brothers’ poster flooded my senses towering over a pink bed sheet and a mess of CDs. I turned the switch on and off rapidly trying to disperse the shadow but to little avail. I snorted, but my despair was distracted by a sound coming from the bedside table. The drawer rattled making a faint buzzing sound and then ceased only to begin a moment later. My blind eyes widened with recognition. I thrust open the drawer and found the source of the sound. A cell phone glowed dully in my returning vision and I pressed its surface to my sightless eyes. I pushed on the camera button, and instantly the flash jarred my senses. I deleted the picture and repeated the process slowly causing the spell to ebb.
Still seeing stripes of purple and green, I blinked my eyes hurriedly and slipped away from the wreckage. One of the hall clocks chimed the hour. I had missed the meeting. Defeated and greatly annoyed, I trudged back to my room in the Greek wing and quickly fell asleep.
(I will write more. I need to babysit.)
((You know what? I kind of want to join. Why not?

Er… I have no idea what’s going on.))
((Shoot, I am out of practice. All previous parentheses were supposed to be double.))
” Hey, do you already have a cabinmate? ” I said, while masking the smell of dust and old luggage.
” Hey, do you smell-” Sophie started.
“- Chocolate? Yeah. Better than eau de dust. ” I said.
((My character’s actually called Maya on this thread (if you were getting her mixed up with Sophie of the MA RPG). I can just go with what you and Kokonilly posted. I guess we can pretend I was with you and Sophia for the whole time, just lagging a bit.))
(( Yess, sorry. I had revival on my mind. I was going to welcome Sophia. And i have a friend named Sophia. And i had revival on my mind for the MA RPG. ))
“Now be good, Soph!” my dad called. I ran to hug him quickly, then dashed inside the school, my cheap luggage rattling noisily. I meandered about for a little while, inspecting my new surroundings. I didn’t know anybody here yet, and I wasn’t about to go up and talk to someone. I made my way to the dormitory, only stopping to examine the sign that said “GREEK WING”. I unpacked quickly. I didn’t seem to have a roommate. After sitting and thinking for a bit, I glanced at the clock. Time for breakfast!
Eventually, I made it down to the dining hall without asking for directions or consulting a map, which made me very pleased with myself. I ate quietly and alone, but I didn’t feel lonely, because I was in the middle of The Golden Compass.
Someone sidled up to me. I slammed shut the book. “Hey, do you have a cabinmate?”
I looked up. A green-eyed, grinning girl who reminded me strongly of a cat was looking at me.
I sniffed the air. “Hey, do you smell – ”
” – Chocolate? Yeah. Better than eau de dust.” This girl wasn’t making any sense, but I decided to focus on what she said first.
“Cabinmate? Why are we going to be in a cabin?”
“There’s a camping trip. They just announced it.”
Oh. I must have tuned it out while reading. “Um, no… I don’t have a cabinmate. I don’t actually know anybody here.” I started to get excited. A camping trip? I’d done a lot of camping in Girl Scouts*. I could pitch a tent, no problem. But now I knew why so many people looked anxious.
((* – In the Philippines, Girl Scouts are a lot more adventurous.))
((back.))
Fatima hauled her pack into the seat and loitered in the aisle as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes. She blinked a bit, trying to focus her eyes, as something suddenly rammed into her.
“Stay out of the aisle, squint,” a taunting voice sneered.
She slammed into her seat and looked incredously back at the rammer. He was one of the mysterious ones, disappearing at times and being generally creepy at others. Fatima grimaced and turned back around. Camping was supposed to be fun.
Omorose gathered her clothes and a book or two from her room. Deciding to leave the real lotus on her nightstand behind, she picked up her white staff and walked out of the door. After all, a staff could be useful as a walking stick if we go hiking, she mused to herself.
The group of chattering students lagged out of the school and down out of the ground gates, Mr. Fenlauten leading the way. Omorose yawned widely, but perked up when she noticed Fatima being rammed by someone familiar: a lurking mysterious boy who sulked off as Fatima grimaced.
“You okay?” Omorose asked her, walking up beside her on the trail.
“Yeah, Me neither. You know, I kind of like hiking!” I said. Then, a sudden downpour came from out of nowhere. “Hey, Could you wheel this for me?” I asked.
“Uh, OK. ” Sophie said. I made like a cat and climbed it my waterproof back pack.
((Are we camping already? Have we left?
Oh, and I think I won’t make Sophia know about her talents. She knows she’s a demigoddess, but not that it comes with talents.))
“Yeah, Me neither. You know, I kind of like hiking!” the strange girl said. It abruptly began raining for no apparent reason. “Hey, could you wheel this for me?”
“Uh… okay.” I was a bit unnerved by this enthusiastic girl, and the feeling increased when she changed into a cat and climbed into her backpack. I took it gingerly and wheeled it out, along with my luggage that I somehow had found time to pack. “I suppose we’re cabinmates now?” I sighed.
She peeked out of the bag and meowed, which I understood to be a yes.
((We’re still standing outside the school. A few people are having conversations about cabinmates and that sort of thing, but we’re not actually decided who rooms with who, and it won’t matter anyway. I think we probably should start moving toward the buses.))
Maya~
“Hey, wait up! Alex!” I called over the commotion. Stumbling through the crowd, I caught bits and pieces of their conversation as I followed. Sounded like they would be cabinmates. Maybe I could ask if I could room with them on the trip.
I finally caught up with Alex and the other girl, just as Alex changed into a cat. “Darn!” I muttered.
“Hi,” I said to the girl pulling Alex’s backpack, “I guess you just met Alex!”
“So that’s her name?” the girl said, “I’m Sophia. Alex seems a bit crazy, doesn’t she?”
A glare covered cat-Alex’s face, if cats could glare. I grinned and nodded, “I’m Maya, daughter of Nott, the Norse goddess of night. Could I be cabinmates with you two? Alex ran off before I could ask.”
“That’s fine,” Sophia said as we moved toward the bus, and cat-Alex meowed, seemingly in agreement.
((That’s all I can think of!))
(( the thunder storm is just to scare good characters. And Good Neutral characters.Alex is now kind of good neutral. If she is not excepted in the COTD than she’ll be good. ))
Alex
” I suppose we’re cabin mates now? ” Sophia said.
I peeked out of the bag and and meowed. I couldn’t speak English in cat form. Only Catonese. I started to nod and then stopped. I meowed in panic. Lightning! It was heading for Sophia and I! ” Mrow!” I said impatiently.
(( Oh… i posted that before 157 was moderated. ZAp or snip maybe? ))
I leaped out, and morphed to human, holding a umbrella. ” So.” I said. ” How exactly do I seem crazy? ” I said.
“Er…” My face grew hot – I never blushed because of my skin tone. “Well, you didn’t introduce yourself when we first met, and you transformed into a cat without warning…” I trailed off.
((I thought vanilla said it was sunny. Is the rain a manifestation of her powers or the work of evil characters or should we just ignore her post? Oh well.))
(( Its someone on team evil.))
” Well, if I warned you I would have gotten wet! I HATE being wet! And second, I some times do that. You might want to get used to that kind of thing. If that creeped you out, wait till you see the other kids!” I said. ” So, who’s your mom? Mine is Bastet. She’s the goddess of cats. And I don’t know my father, In a way I’m a orphan.” I realized I was talking to much, so I stopped.
((I don’t get it. Who’s causing the storm?))
(( A monster I guess.))
TERRANCE COUSLAND
“Manila envelope”
The thought hit me like a butterfly against a windshield, and my eyes shot open. I quickly removed my clothes and showered, leaving the ominous folder on the nightstand. It was far later then I had meant to sleep and from a cursory check outside I gathered that most people were done with breakfast and everyone was rushing to pack camping gear. A wave of goose bumps crawled up my back. There is no rest for the wicked.
Locking the door, I dumped the contents of the envelope onto my bed. A single sheet of old parchment slid out with a crackle of ash and dust. The paper was blank. I sighed heavily and went through the usual suspects: Red wine, candles, oil, water, dirt. Nothing happened. “Figures” I hissed, “I’m working for a possessed billy goat.” I pulled out a knife from my drawer, and cut the tips of four of my fingers. Blood pooled out on the decrepit parchment. I prayed it wouldn’t have to be vomit or some other bodily fluid, but eventually the paper took. The streaks of scarlet faded, and the paper let out an almost satisfied hum. Once the message had faded, I slipped the paper into my pack as the word “recruit” dissolved from the parchment.
Entering the mess hall, I scanned the hurriedly eating children. An ashen looking boy stood in the middle of the room, obviously sickened by the masses of humanity. “Hey, are you okay?” I said making my way to stand in front of him. He looked up and started to move away. “I-I’m fine,” he barked causing a number of nearby students to turn at his sudden increase in volume. A line of sweat trailed down his cheek and he dropped his backpack to the floor. I waited. His gaze returned to me, and I repeated my query. “Are you sure you’re okay?” He opened his mouth, closed it, and through gritted teeth growled “I’m fine. Go away!”
I have good reflexes, and, though his indignant retort was not the opening I was hoping for, it sufficed. As the boy turned to grab his backpack, I landed a cut just above his sock on the back of his leg. He ran off taking little note of his injury, most likely due to his already feeble state. I counted to thirty, and strolled after my belligerent quarry. I found him, luckily, in a deserted hallway. He had collapsed and his fluttering eyes were the only signs of consciousness. Poison is so useful. I made my way to his prone form and leaned ever so gently next to his ear. “Kezo, if this relationship is going to work, you need to trust me. Now ,you are just going to take a nap, and, when you wake up, I think we can come to a proper understanding. ” He coughed trying to move away but to no avail. “Please don’t strain yourself.” I said. “Most people who try to destroy binding staves have only hours to live. I think you might have something worth living for.”
((I figured binding staff was a good name as opposed to dark pencil soul-sucking tool thingy. Is this okay with everyone? Also, Mango, what’s a little power play between friends :)? Please inform if you have an issue with my final paragraph. I thought Terrance and Kezo could become great friends, once everyone got past the whole poison in the mess hall moment.))
((Holy cake Bismarck, way to write a novel! ))
“Er… my mom’s Athena. What kind of powers do the other kids have?” I gazed curiously at the crowd; they didn’t seem too happy. Well, I mused, the alternative was hyperactive Alex. I started boarding the bus. “What’s it like around here, all this power in one place?” I paused. “Does every demigod have powers?”
((Is that a compliment, or is it too darn long? LOL))
“You okay?” Omorose asked. Fatima weakly replied, “Yeah, I guess. Just got rammed by another one of those creepy mysterious boys…” Omorose furrowed her brow and nodded. They started up the hill, following Mr. Fenlauten. Fatima slowly started to smile as she remembered something. “Guess not all creepy mysterious boys can be like your James!” she grinned, nudging Omorose.
Kezo was in the middle of nowhere. Literally. He was floating in a fuzzy darkness, with no idea where he was. Or who he was… He fought to stay awake. A voice came through the dark all of a sudden. His eyelids fluttered, but he still was drifting off. Was this death? It seemed so comfortable. Death… death gods… Anubis… Kezo suddenly remembered who he was. Crying out, he started to spin. He felt like he was going to vomit, and then…
He found himself lying on the floor. In a hallway. Surrounded by people. Kezo fought the urge to vomit once again. What had happened? Where was he? What… where… how…? Questions flung themselves through his mind. The world started to spin. This seemed very familiar… but how? Why was he forgetting? What was happening to him?
((Hey fellow posters, after trying to better recall my character’s arc that I came up with ages ago, I came across post 61.2. Is my character too over the top? He’s no Mary Sue, after all his god powers consist of invoking insanity through touch and drinking a lot, but I’m not attempting to overshadow all of you. Do I need to tone it down a bit?))
((hmmmm…. thinking of a way to start my story….))
((Fling your character into mortal peril!!!!))
” Well, It gets… interesting. ” I said.
“What’s it like around here, all this power in one place?” Sophia asked.
“Well, it’s gets… interesting,” Alex responded
“Does every demigod have powers?” Sophia asked.
“Of course!” I said, “I mean, well, I think so… everyone I’ve met here does. Mine aren’t so special — my senses get better in the dark and that sort of thing– but some people have really cool powers, like Alex. I think it’s pretty cool to be able to change your shape and that sort of thing. Do you know your powers yet?”
“Not really…” Sophia said in a resigned way.
“That’s fine,” I said, “I don’t understand my powers at all. In fact most of us don’t know a lot about what we can do, and what being a demigod means.”
Sophia smiled. “That’s good to know.”
“You can always ask Dr. Korlin about you powers if you want to know,” Alex said, “And I agree, Maya. I don’t think any of us know what being a demigod really means.”
A teacher stood up by the fountain, saying: “I hope you’ve got your groups together, because we will begin boarding the buses soon. If you aren’t decided, make decisions on the bus and at the campground.” En looked apprehensive, like they didn’t have a clue about what was going on, and were feeling a bit creeped out by this wacky field trip. Even after meeting Sophia and Alex, I still felt the same way. What were we heading into?
Kezo stood with the others as they boarded the bus. All of a sudden, his backpack felt warm. He started, then said out loud, “It must be my DSi. It’s been in a hot place all day.” Curiously enough, he didn’t even look into his backpack. And if he had, he wouldn’t have wondered at all why the tool wasn’t there.
” Speaking of creepy guys.” I said in an undertone as Mr. F walked towards us. (( Maybe whatever is possessing is the source of the storm. The creepy, creepy storm.)) The storm got worse. Lighting flickered.
He was scowling. ” Hi Mr. F! Whats eating you?” I asked. His eyes, normally a warm brown color, glowed red.
” Okay.. Never mind. ” I said. backing away.
” Do you think we should get on the bus? ” Sophia said.
” Yeah, good idea. ” Maya said.
We nervously boarded the bus, but forgot our fears as we walked onto the bus and joined the laughing, happy conversation and chatter.
…We wish. It was dead silent. No one was talking and lots of people were staring out the window at the storm. I tried to start a conversation with someone, but it petered out as the silence took over.
((Can someone bring me up to speed, please?))
Adela sat, lost in thought. In her mind, she was running with horses. In reality, she was in the corner, sitting out her punishment for speaking out of turn and talking back. Adela lived in what was Ireland’s worst orphanage, headed by a Miss DeVille, an ugly, cruel french woman who was in Ireland under mysterious circumstances. All Adela longed to do was ride horses, and be one with the horses. She had always been obsessed with horses, even though she has always been kept far away from them. Then, Adela stirred in her dream, as she was startled by Miss DeVille yelling at her, saying her time was over. Adela rose to proceed to lunch, only to be sent back for not having her hands washed (there was no running water available to her to wash her hands) and having poor posture…
((sorry… this isn’t my complete thought, my mom made me get off… I will finish later))
((CAN SOMEONE PLEASE FILL ME IN!? I’m too lazy to read all the posts. Just a brief summary will do, thanks.))
((Oh, shoot! HTML Gnome? *offers cookie*))
(( We’re on a bus to the camping trip where a epic battle will happen. ))
((Okay, that’s what I figured. Anything else important I should know?))
(( 175-Creulla De ville? ))
We started driving and the woods got a little thicker, not just scrawny road trees. I saw a fridge, and a hole only a cat could fit into.. Hey, wait a second…
I transformed into a cat and sprinted under seats. A few people were flicked with my tail. I ran through the hole and got a coke. I ran back to my seat and transformed again. I slurped my coke. ” Hey, where did you get that?” Maya asked.
” Why, Do you want one? ” I asked. She and Sophia nodded. I slurped down my coke and went back. This time i returned with a milk for me and a cokes for Maya and Sophia. I slurped down the jug of milk.
“I get thirsty. Really thirsty.” I said.
Kezo liked the stormy silence. A few girls were drinking Cokes and milk. Kezo liked neither, so he wasn’t a bit jealous. He just stared out the window. He was so absorbed in staring into nothingness that he didn’t notice when someone sat down beside him.
((This can be anyone. I would prefer it to be someone who could be a potential friend, or someone who acts like a friend, or someone who doesn’t act like a friend but wants to be, or… You get the picture. I hope.))
Halena yawned, and leaned against the window. Her sleepless night was beginning to catch up to her. Her eyes closed as they passed endless fields and forests, and soon she was snoring.
Hyacinth rolled her eyes. Halena must’ve not gotten much sleep last night. Picking up her stuff, Hyacinth moved to a boy who was sitting by himself, and looked rather goth. “Hiya,” said Hyacinth awkwardly.
((I’ve gotten really used to writing in third person…so that’s what I’m gonna do, for a couple chars.))
FELINA
The young tween stared out the window, zoning out. “Mehhh,” she yawned, eyes barely open, “I want some coffee.” Nevermind the fact she was only 12, Felina had a definite taste for lattes.
Then she promptly passed out, head clunking against the window.
VARETE
I giggled as I jumped onto the bus, having chosen to stay average height for this. But my hair was ankle-length, and that was how I wanted it to stay. Being a third-year always meant the rules were easier to get around-and as long as I kept some sugar on hand, I’d always be fine.
People gave me weird looks, but I gave it no mind-that’s what I always got, especially when I pranked people. And my hair was always unnaturally long. So I would never pay any attention to the looks…
Alex ( And this is where she dreams her backstory. And a I maybe bring a new character: Not for long, but just for a little bit. The one is in a coma for a little bit, then one dies. )
After a while i turned into a cat and fell asleep. . the forest was in flames. I saw a lot of dead bodies and then I saw… I saw my sister. My sister who was kiddnapped from the orphanage right before I ran away when we were 3. I was convinced that Cecilia was living a good life with some rich people. I thought it was just another student, but then I saw the streak of blond in her black hair. I woke up, and I blinked.
Kezo turned away from the girl. She seemed awkward and feeling out of place, and that was just how he wanted it to stay. “Go away. You really don’t need to sit here.” “Um, actually, all the other seats are filled,” she said. Groaning, Kezo turned toward her. “You really picked a great time to be annoying,” he grumbled. The girl looked confused. “But I-” “Just don’t talk to me,” he said, and with that he turned away from the now angry-looking girl.
Hyacinth folded her arms. “Look,” she said to the boy’s back. “I don’t care what your problem is, you don’t have to be mean. Besides, I lied. There’s plenty of empty seats. You just looked kind of…lost, if you know what I mean.” Hyacinth turned away and opened up a pokemon manga book.
(( I will include Cecila, If thats okay. ))
Kezo turned toward her quickly. “Is that Pokemon?!” he said excitedly- a bit too excitedly. The girl looked at him oddly. “Uh, yeah. Do you have a problem with that, too?” “No! It’s just- never mind.” ((Kezo, along with his quirk for electronics, also has a quirk for Pokemon. He is a bit protective of this, since most other kids his age think it’s babyish.)) Kezo sighed. “Okay, fine. I’m obsessed with that kind of stuff. You can tease me all you like.” He was certain that she would, completely ignoring the fact that she was reading something Pokemon.
Hyacinth opened her eyes wide. “I LOVE pokemon! I have, like, all the games! Isn’t it cool?” She had, until now, never met a fellow pokemon enthusiast. “My favorite pokemon is Darkrai, what’s yours?”
As I drank my milk (the cookies vanished quickly), I looked around. There was now chatter and some of the unease had gone. I caught the word “Darkrai” and my head swiveled to the source.
Two kids discussing Pokemon… I had to join in. I loved Pokemon, and being from the Philippines I knew about the games earlier than most Americans, because I had family in Japan working on Pokemon.
I sidled over. “My favorite’s Togepi,” I answered, not realizing the girl had not addressed me.
Kezo noticed some kids joining the conversation. “Um… I have all the games too.” He decided not to mention the fact that he had stolen them. “Uh, I like Mewtwo and Giratina… because…. um… in the movies they’re supposed to be bad but they’re actually good. And, um, they’re really powerful. I have both of them. And I didn’t cheat…” Really, he hadn’t. He hadn’t stolen an Action Replay, which he thought accounted for something. He slowly was growing more confident about talking to these people. “Want to see my DSi?” He took it out- and his backpack was still hot. Kezo frowned. “That’s weird,” he muttered, fingering his DSi. It wasn’t hot at all. Then what?…. “Hey, open it already!” the girl said. Jumping back to reality, he started to show off his Pokemon. “Look, it has a Shiny Leaf!… and they’re both Lvl. 100…” He forgot all about the fact that his backpack had started to faintly glow.
((The Giratina and Mewtwo are based off mine, which are both Lvl. 100 and the Giratina found a Shiny Leaf, a rare item that you can find in HeartGold/ SoulSilver. No, I did not cheat for them. But I didn’t steal the games, either… ))
VARETE
I squealed at the mention of Pokemon, getting over there as fast as I could. “Ooh, Pokemon? I’ve got SoulSilver only-which isn’t good, I guess, but I’m getting Platinum soon-and I’ve got a Typhlosion at level 70!
He’s pretty awesome, I guess.” And I whipped my DSi out of my one-strap backpack. “That’s a great duo, man, how’d you get all those great moves?”
((Unbeknownst to the chattering demigods, the source of all god powers comes from the pathetic endorsement of a lame anime TV show and its respective game boy counterparts. In fact this is an inherent trait among all the pantheons’ offspring.
Scizor just happens to be the best, but can we get back to the plot?))
((No! *sigh* Okay, but just a moment.))
Hyacinth ssquealed. “Ohmigosh! You have a DSi? All I have is this DS Lite that’s kind of old.” Hyacinth pulled her DS out of her bag and flipped it open. “I’m currently training in Pokemon Pearl,” she said happily. “My only pokemon that has yet to evolve is Sera, my Budew.” She showed Kezo her party. “I’ve also got HeartGold, which I’ve beaten Red in. He was pretty tough.”
“I have Sapphire, Diamond, Platinum, and Soul Silver.” I counted them off on my fingers and then flipped open my DSi. “My DS lite broke, probably because I dropped it in the water. But look at my Soul Silver team! I’ve beaten Red a few times, and now I just have to fill up my Pokedex.”
((Scizor’s pretty awesome… and Pokemon is so not lame!!!!! But we really should take this to You Know You’re Addicted to X When You Y…))
Kezo was in the middle of showing off his Lvl. 100 girl Torterra when the bus suddenly stopped. Quickly flipping his DSi closed, he walked toward the exit, feeling sort of empty. He had found people like him, and now they were just normal people again. Well, not so normal. They were all demigods, weren’t they? And hey, despite his not fitting in, his dad was… was… Kezo frowned. That was weird. He couldn’t remember. But he waved it off as a short lapse of memory and kept walking.
Alex
If you need to know, i was underneath the seat the whole time, wishing for a DS. I happened to have a mew addiction. Anyway, when he bus stopped i slid forward and fell against the doors. ” Mrooooww!!!!!! ” I screamed. The door opened and i tumbled to the ground. I changed to human and shook myself off. We finally were at the campsite.
((Nah, let’s just end the conversation.))
Abruptly the bus stopped, taking our conversation with it. A cat screamed, but I had already gotten up to go. I stepped outside onto the lovely campsite. However, the raging thunderstorm somewhat detracted from the loveliness.
Cecila
I staggered into they forest. I had just been attacked by a HUGE crab. I heard the sound of… bus brakes? That’s impossible. I thought.. Who would come to this forest? But then i heard people coming out with my cat hearing. I turned cat and climbed up a tree to watch.
Alex
I ran into the forest, looking for cabins. I was cool without them, but some people… ” Where are the cabins?” I asked.
“My James?” Omorose said, giggling at Fatima’s suggestion. She knew it was ludicrous, but she blushed a deep pink nonetheless.
They chatted on the bus all the way to the camp site, as the sky grew darker and more ominous and the chatter about Pokemon and the Nintendo DS grew louder. Suddenly, the bus lurched to a stop.
The campsite would have been lovely, were it not raining heavily outside. Thunder shook the trees, and several squealing girls dashed around, searching for the cabins. Fatima and Omorose followed after them, shivering in the cold.
A few kids who were sons and daughters of rin gods had fashioned water shields for themselves, which sprayed the puring rain above their heads into a protective umbrella. Suddenly, as she had been easily distracted, Omorose ran right into a girl who was stepping off the bus and accidentally knocked her over.
“Oh, geez, I’m so sorry!” she cried, leaning to help the girl up. “I hope I didn’t hurt you.”
“No, I’m fine,” the girl said, brushing herself off. “Don’t worry about it.”
“I’m Omorose,” Omorose said, smiling a little despite the cold rain. “Do you know where the cabins are?”
“I’m Sophie,” the girl replied, “and I think they’re down the path.”
“Want to go look with me?” Omorose offered.
((Sorry for the PP, Nilly. I needed a little character interaction. ))
((I also apologize for the spelling mistakes. My keys are sticking because my little cousin spilled pop on my keyboard.))
((Dang it, this directly conflicts with my post. What should we do? They’re very different.))
((Oops! I thought your second post was in regard to me… and then I posted again.))
((Oh. Oops. Okay, I guess I’ll run with it. ))
((Coolio! We could just meet up at the cabin, or something. ))
“Cabins? I was under the impression we were pitching tents.” Several people looked at me, alarmed. I shrugged. “I could be wrong, though; I have absolutely no idea what we’re doing.” With that, I walked away from the conversation. ((This is another flaw of Sophia… she’s not that good with people.))
I looked around, and saw movement in a tree. I went a bit closer to inspect. It was a cat! (I was glad I took allergy medicine.) Just a harmless cat… But then I glanced at Alex, and I realized not all cats were harmless. I started to climb the tree.
Cecila
I saw a girl see me, and it wasn’t Alex. She started to climb the tree. I scrambled up, mewing in distress. Nobody heard me. The girl was getting closer… I jumped over of the tree, aiming for the next one-I missed. I started to plummet down. Alex looked at me like she just saw a ghost. her face turned white. And she started to pass out.
Alex.
Oh, My Gosh. I just saw a cat that looked just like my sister. I stared. It couldn’t be real. Didn’t she-die? She plummeted down to the ground. Just as I fainted.
Omorose sighed. “Bye.”
She walked down the path in the pouring rain, the water soaking her blouse and skirt as she went. She carried her bag all the way to the end of the dirt path, where a semicircle of log cabins were revealed, each with a small stone pathway leading to its’ door. Half of the cabins were for boys, and the other half were for girls.
“I guess that this is just as good of a place as any,” she said to nobody in particular, and followed a small string of girls up to the first cabin, feeling quite alone.
Kezo stared at the cabins, then at his backpack. He guessed that tents weren’t necessary, but in a cabin? With other people? He’d much rather spend the night out here, thank you. He started to pitch his tent. Suddenly his DSi fell out of his backpack. Stumbling, he caught it, and clutching it to his chest, he placed it safely inside the tent. For some reason, he now thought of it as his most valued possession. On the bus, he’d almost felt normal. He’d felt connected. Now he was once again a loner, complete with the strange looks he was now getting from kids walking to their cabins.
((Believe it or not, the Pokemon talk on the bus actually served a purpose. Wowee, who would have guessed?))
((Wait…KEZO HAS SOCIAL ISSUES!!!!!!! Holy Typhlosion, Venesaur, and Shroomish.
I think the educated reader could figure that one out without 20 posts of “I have a level 75 Mew.” Thank Jesus we are off that bus.))
((Play nice.))
((But Kokonilly. . .))
((Oh, I’m sorry Aggie! I didn’t mean for you to be lonely. ))
I was still in the tree when the cat leaped down for no apparent reason. Upon seeing the cat, Alex inexplicably turned pale and started mumbling. Then she fainted, and the cat looked at me.
“Oh no, Alex!” I was yelling. “We need to get you over to the cabins or whatever right away.” I began to drag her off when the cat made to leave. I glared at – her? him? en – and said as menacingly as I could, “You come with me.”
The cat looked resentfully at me, if cats could do that, but followed me anyway. En radiated the feeling of warning, that I shouldn’t hurt her. “Don’t worry, I won’t.” The cat radiated feelings of goodness.
“Darn, I wish there was a way to get her there faster,” I said as a particularly large drop of rain spattered my glasses. Alex was already extremely muddy, and my shoes were not faring any better. I started to sprint as I saw the campsite.
((This is an excellent time to introduce the flying power, but I’d rather someone else did it from another POV.))
((Awweh, it’s fine. Plus, it’s not me, it’s her, I swear!))
Omorose trudged into the cabin, rainwater dripping from her clothes as she went. This cabin was full of first year students. She set her bag down on an empty bunk and pulled out a pair of black, loose-fit sweatpants and a shimmery black tank top with golden trim. Quietly, she edged into the bathroom to change out of her muddy and soaked clothes.
Cecilia
The girl was yelling about MY fainted sister. I resentfully followed her, because since she was a friend of Alex, she was a friend of mine. I must protect her. I decided to turn back into a human. ” Hullo, I’m Cecilia, Alex’s twin sister. ” I said.
“Hi, I’m Sophie.” She said.
Alex turned into a cat, which she does when she sleeps. I put her in Sophie’s backpack. I’m going to keep her company.” I said, Leaping into the backpack, I curled up next to her.
Alex
It was dark. Very dark. I blinked. I saw Cecilia. I must be dreaming. I thought. I stirred. I felt a whoosh. I peeked my head out of the bag. Were we Flying? I awoke Cecilia with a flick of the tail. We Meow at Sophie, who was- Flying.
((Okay guys, come on… My name is Sophia. ))
I watched Cecilia leap into my backpack and sighed. I guessed that they both had the same parents. Once more I wished to know who my godly parent was… I walked along absent-mindedly, but abruptly realized that I wasn’t on the ground anymore. I immediately become flat to increase the drag (I presumed we were falling off of some kind of cliff), but that just let me steer.
Wait, you can’t steer falling… Alex and Cecilia meowed at me. I looked down. Was I flying? But that couldn’t be; it had never happened before. Surely I would have noticed this before? But as I saw the campsite and was able to control the descent, I realized it was true. The feeling was confirmed when people started pointing and talking.
((I’m sorry! *hands 7 choklit for the mistake*))
(( Hands pound of chocolit from Amelie’s. ( trust me, that’s is good.))
((I haven’t been posting here recently at all. I’m sorry, I’ve just lacked enthusiasm. I’m back now, and I know what’s going on.))
Alexandria shivered slightly on the way to the cabins. She usually loved storms, but this one… She pulled her jacket closer around her and walked a bit faster. The cabin was just a bit farther.
Once inside, she looked around. There wasn’t much to see, just bunk beds and other girls her age unpacking their things. Adonia had followed her in.
“Where are we sleeping, Adonia?”
“I don’t care. Look, those bunks are empty.” She pointed.
“Sounds fine.” They walked over. Adonia didn’t hesitate before putting her backpack down on the bottom bunk.
“You sure you don’t want top?” Alexandria asked.
“Positive. Bottom’s closer to the earth.”
Alexandria smiled. She swung her bag up to the top, and turned around to look at who was near. She caught sight of the bag on the next bunk. Have I seen that bag before?
Just then, Omorose appeared. Yes, I have.
“Hi, Omorose!”
Omorose slipped out of the bathroom, glad to be in dry clothes again. Two familiar faces sat on the bunk next to her. “Hi, Omorose!” said Alexandria.
“Hi, Alexandria! Hi, Adonia!” she said, greeting them with a warm smile. Finally, someone she knew! She walked over and sat down on her bunk, stowing her bag underneath. “I wonder what we’re going to do now. It’s raining, so I guess there’s no hope for a campfire.” She sighed, flopping down on the cot.
Kezo, after unpacking his stuff, was now playing his DSi furiously. There was nothing else to do, after all. He quickly grew tired of it, though. Putting the electronic device safely away from any possible harm, he leaned against the wall and sighed. What now?
TERRANCE COUSLAND
The beanie baby was finally seeming to take. Soul sucking curses are best negated by unification charms, and though my skill in magic was minimal at best the charm was fairly simple if one had patience. So after sitting in a circle of seeds and turkey scraps — no one had chicken for breakfast so it was the next best thing– with the binding staff and a stuffed eel, I had pilfered from one of the teacher’s desks, the two object finally started to flicker. I heaved a sigh of relief and continued my reading as the orb topped hook and its eel mate started to form into one. I skimmed briefly once I had reached the refrain, which I had managed to memorize after 16 recitations, and saw only two more verses. I quickened my chanting. There was a resounding pop as the two objects finished their melding, and I promptly stepped back to observe my work only to find that my sleeve had caught on fire. Hurriedly dunking my arm into the sink I rushed back and rearranged my circle for additional protection. Hopefully this Kezo kid was worth the effort, because if he had a death wish he would be trying my patience in no time.
I pulled out “my instructions” from the manila envelope I had used that morning to find out my next move. Curiously, the parchment did not seem to require any additional blood, and I was drawn a portrait of a girl with long blonde hair,(I am guessing as the whole thing was made of scarlet streaks) and dark almost warm eyes. Lazy print filled the bottom of the page spelling out the words “Adonia. Recruit.” Before disappearing into the page. ” Too bad it’s raining,” I thought aloud, “I actually enjoy camping,” but I packed my gear for the long trek to the campsite and hoped for fruitful endeavors.
((So what big bad thing is going to attack everyone in the rain? I would think something not of Greek Mythology after our Stymphalian bird attack. How does a group of bunyips sound?))
((You’re recruiting me? Ohh… That’s perfect. Absolutely, positively, perfect. Hehehehehe. *dances around in a circle*
((Yes, for my superbly evil plan! Muhahaha.))
((Is this a different superbly evil plan than the CotD?))
((Hmmm. Yeah. ))
“Probably not.” Alexandria agreed. “Shame; I’ve never been to a campfire. This rain is really strange though, isn’t it? I’ve never seen anything quite like it.”
Adonia sighed and sat down, feeling left out. ‘Dria and this other girl, Omorose, seemed to know each other quite well, and neither of them were paying any attention to her. They chattered on, and she, feeling more left out by the moment, finally stood up and went outside.
Not out into the actual rain. Adonia loved most rain, but not this. Just out under the roof extending a few feet out from the door. She leaned against a pillar, and sighed, gazing up at the stormy clouds.
((I really need to do Kali soon. Next time.))

“Rain is stupid! I want to make that clear,” I hissed from beneath my drenched hood. ” I mean what is the point of stuffing a group of students into log cabins AND MAKING IT RAIN,” I retorted at the torrential skies. I had been sloshing through mud for the better part of the hour and was soaked to the bone.
“Cabins are made of wood. Wouldn’t the smart thing be to set them on fire! Heaven forbid the demigods have to deal with water damage. Oh man that would suck! Only a good third of them are the children of river, lake, ocean, or weather gods giving them immunity to the very effects of a DELUGE!”
Thunder crackled across the sky, and I rolled my eyes. “You can bugger, too!”
((Who is up for the Bunyip Massacre? Any takers?))
I darted under the awning of one of the cabins and squeezed the water out of my hair. Looking up, I noticed a girl leaning against a pillar. Alexandria’s sister… what was her name? She sighed as she stared up at the ominous clouds. Thunder rumbled, a loud booming that made a chill go down my spine.
“It’s sorta creepy, isn’t it?” I said.
She looked toward me, and somewhat surprised expression on her face, like she didn’t expect anyone to speak to her at this point in time. Then she relaxed, frowning a little. “Yeah,” she murmured, “I normally love rain, but this? This is not good.”
I nodded, and we stood in silence for a while.
“I’m Maya,” I said, “I room with your sister back at the academy.”
“I’m Adonia,” she answered, smiling, “Would you like to stay with us?”
“Sure!” I said, “I did promise to Alex and Sophia that we would be cabinmates, but there’s still more room, right?”
((…and that’s all I can think of. Is that okay with you, Errata?))
(( and, Cecila will be there too.))
Alex
My sister and I jumped out of the backpack, and rushed to an empty cabin at random. I went to find Maya and tell her we were cabin 6.
I landed triumphantly with only minor scratches. The moment I did, the cat sisters leapt out of my backpack and ran inside a cabin. I sighed and walked inside. Apparently people were pointing because of the rain getting stronger.
I sighed again. Perhaps this was a common power. I needed to find an RA… I remembered what Maya had said earlier.
“Where can I find Dr. Korlin?” I asked a random boy with green eyes and a ruddy face.
