Two remarkable people, born thousands of miles apart on the same day in 1809.
Happy birthday!

Happy Birthday!
I feel like composing a poem to commemorate this day….
*goes to poem and songs thread*
I always knew that they had the same birthday, but I somehow never knew what day it was… Anyways, I think some equal, evolved pies are in order.

Thou art dishonoring thy Noble Forebearers.
Happy Birthday, Messrs. Lincoln and Darwin!
Thank you for your work on Humanity!
Or something along those lines..
Happy bday, Mr. Lincoln!!

Oh, wait, I didn’t see the Darwin part.

Wait- What happened to Robert’s post?
Retrozapped. I answered my own question.
Yeahh… Irene is my Demigod RPG character. I psot under her name, and I made a Gravatar account with my other email so we could have separate avatars- Irene is a daughter of Iris, so I thought the rainbow butterfly was appropriate. Maybe I should start posting as “Irene (Rosebud2)” to avoid confusing people.
That would be nice, it’s sort of confusing when you post under two different blog names.
Happy Birthday, Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin! That’s so cool that they were born in the same year! And, of course, the pies…
Happy 201st birthday, Charles Darwin!
And, happy birthday to you too, Abe.

Happy birthday.

Oh Darwin and Abe, who knows where we would be without you.
Even if someone else had published similar findings to Darwin (though someone DID, which was why he decided to after all, yes?) who knows if they would have lasted/been taken seriously.
I still need to see Creation though…
(9) Ideas similar to Darwin’s were in the air. Somebody else would have synthesized them if he hadn’t (and Alfred Russel Wallace actually did). But I think very, very few people could have done what Lincoln did. That was truly a case of the right person in the right place at the right time.
Ah, Darwin and Lincoln. Both on my list of Most Amazing And Awe-Inspiring And Encouraging People Of All Time And Space Of Which I Am Aware.
happy birthday to their quite-literally-at-this-point immortal (well, so far) souls.
Three coolest people of all time: Leonardo DaVinci, Ernest Shackleton, and Joe Biden. I have a bunch more nominees, but I’ll add Darwin and Lincoln to the list if you think they deserve it.
I’ll second that trio, Sudo!
(Shackleton’s birthday is on the 15th, can we give him a thread?)
Hey! I just started learning about the Civil War in school! Go figure!
Happy Birthday to both of them!!!
Happy birthday to two great men!
Happy Birthday, Darwin and Lincoln!!!

Happy World-Changing Birthdays, Mr. Darwin and Mr. Lincoln!
I would just like to say that I took a standardized test this morning for some academic challenge thingy, and one of the prompts was about Darwin/The Origin of Species. And the first question was, if the excerpt posted had been written 50 years after TOoS was published, when was the excerpt from?
And because of this thread I was able to figure out when Darwin was born (2010-201) and from there when he probably published TOoS, and then add 50
Thanks MB!

Happy Birthday Abraham Lincoln!!!
