((YES! FIRST POST AT LAST!!!! By the way…. Why does it say Muse Academy RPG, Part 7…. continued from Part 8?))
I was called before the queen, yet again… But this time there was someone else with her…. A gentleman with striking orange hair and a large, purple top hat…. I was sure it was the Hatter! But what was he doing.
“ADEIA!” the Queen yelled. “Read this man’s mind! He refuses to speak anything but riddles!”
I prepared my self to enter a very mad mind…..
((Just a little momentary silliness.))
((Thank you for changing it!))
I couldn’t believe the others hadn’t noticed me slip into the portal opened via the tiles. And only I had started off down the road with the void beneath. I was incredibly nervous, but I was sure that I could make it. Sure enough I reached a place where the dirt thickened beneath the road, and green grass grew. Behind me, I saw someone
start slowly out on the road. The others were coming. Rather than wait there, I hurried on a few hundred yards. I rested beneath a strange looking tree, standing awhile in thought…
((Name: Rosebud Two
Age:11
House: Lasley
Hair color: Reddish brown
Eye color: Hazel))
((Will someone in the group who went to the White Queen’s Castle please come and post to move things along? I am running out of things to post!!! I refuse to let this thread die again!))
“Yes, your majesty,” I replied solemnly…
Don’t worry Hatter….. I thought, I am on your side, Why are you here? Why aren’t you with the White Queen?
Adeia, correct? Your message arrived before your friends did… We are not sure what happened to them…. the Queen sent me to find you… I failed her, as I got caught in the process.
No! You haven’t failed, Hatter! You have presented me with an opportunity to escape! Don’t worry! I will make everything all right.
Adeia?
Yes, Hatter?
Do you have any idea as to why a raven is like a writing desk?
No, do you?
I haven’t the slightest idea!
Ah…
I exited the Hatter’s mind. “This man is innocent of all charges, your majesty! I will personally see that he leaves the castle grounds and that you never see him again!” I annouced to the queen.
“Are you sure Adeia? I was looking forward to a beheading,” she asked. By this time I had gotten the Queen well under my control, she believed and followed anything I said. Unfourtunately, this also meant I was called to her court more often…
“Yes, your majesty!”
“Very well then, off you go,” the Queen said, dissmising us with a wave of her hand.
I left with the Hatter, mentally calling to Ches at the same time. We made it sucessfully to the castle gate, where I had the Hatter write a message in the dirt…
HA HA HA! I have captured your precious mind reader and taken her to a place where no one can find her! Any attempts to find her will result in her death!
I was pretty sure it would work, as the Red Queen loves me and would not take a single chance in my saftey. Just to be sure, I enforced the message with some of my more persuasive energy.
“Now Hatter! To the White Queen!”
((Hey! I post things! But I’m just about to go off to French…))
Through the wide, sweeping driveway we went, passing numerous knot gardens and arrangements and whatnot. The grand, white castle loomed in front of us, protected by a moat and drawbridge. We drew up to the guardhouse and he appeared around the back.
‘What do you want?’ he asked stiffly.
‘We…’ I glanced at the others. Kai nodded encouragingly. ‘We wanted to see the White Queen.’
‘What for?’
‘Well…we have important news for her regarding the Red Queen. Please, sir.’
‘Hmph, very well. But keep that dog under control.’
We stood back to let him open the gate and we walked through, onto the drawbridge that was being lowered. The castle was made of impressive white marble. A page led us through the main hall and up a spiraling staircase, until we were standing at the doorway of a large, seemingly empty room.
‘This here’ll be the waiting room,’ the boy said hesitantly. ‘Her Majesty will call you when she is ready. Don’t go anywhere.’ he added, catching sight of Amadeus Johannes nervously.
‘We won’t,’ I said sweetly, and with a bow, he left the room.
I sat on the couch and tried one of the drinks. ” No!don’t touch-” Selinium said. I had drunken to sweet smelling potion and turned into a cat. The others gasped. Some giggled. ” Hey! At least i’m not thirsty anymore!”
((I know it doesn’t really matter, but it’s Selenium, not Selinium. With an E after the L.))
((sorry!))
POOF!
Spring ((Puffpuff)) suddenly changed into a cat, sitting there on the couch next to us.
“Hey! At least I’m not thirsty anymore!” She beamed, looking up at us with slitted green eyes.
“Okay, let’s not touch anything ELSE…” I said.
As the Hatter, Ches, and I neared the White Queen’s Castle, I felt the presence of my friends come into my head. Something was wrong with Spring. I quickened my pace as I found KaiYves mind…
Guess who? I thought.
Hello Adeia! What are you doing here? she answered.
I was able to escape with the help of the Hatter…. I had sent a message to the castle thinking you were already there, but the Queen intercepted it and sent the Hatter to find me. What’s wrong with Spring? I am not close enough to see through your eyes… I replied
Better come see for yourself…
This couldn’t be good. When I reached the palace, the Queen herself greeted me with my friends behind her and a cat in her arms…
We were sitting on the couch, next to the Queen, who had Spring, now a cat, in her arms. Suddenly, Kai jumped up out of her seat, looking startled, before lowering herself back onto the couch slowly with her eyes closed.
‘What’s happening?’ asked the White Queen.
‘I don’t know, Your Majesty,’ I said truthfully. I was true as I didn’t know what was happening to Adeia.
((Confuzled…..What is happening to me? Or are you just saying this is what Kai did when I contacted her?))
((That is what Kai did when you contacted her, since she wasn’t expecting it. I don’t know what is happening to you yet because you have only just contacted her, and the rest of us do not know how you are.
Less confuzzled now?))
((Danke…. Will someone else please continue with the story?))
“Adeia, I presume?” The Queen asked, as the guards showed Adeia into the room where we waited.
All of our eyes lit up to see Adeia safe and sound.
I had won the chess game. My opponent was checkmated, all the MuseBloggers were free, and the red queen was about to be defeated.
“Now, will you let me go?” I asked.
“You are free.” With a blast, I spun and flew upwards. I was heading toward a tile area. I braced for impact. I smashed through the tiles, and landed right in the center of the building. Adeia was there, with everyone else.
“Sorry for bursting in on you like this, but I need to know what’s down there.” I said, motioning downwards.
I blink at Enceladus as he bursts out of the floor and asks us what’s below us. “No idea?” I offer not-so-helpfully.
As I sneezed,I turned back into a human. ” Uh-Oh. Defective potion.” The Queen said.
“That doesn’t sound too good.” Adeia said.
Then, Enc blasted out of the floor.
“ENC?!?!” I shouted, as he burst through the floor.
“I need to know what’s down there.” He said, motioning downwards.
Sophie~
I was delighted to see Adeia, but a bit surprised to see Enc burst up through the floor.
“You need to see what? What’s down there?” I asked, very confused.
“I’m going to need to get that floor fixed…” the Queen muttered.
((thank goodness this place has wifi!!! I am on a school-related trip in Williamsburg))
I calmly observed Enc coming through the floor…. With a glance I knew how he had guided our pieces to safety… Now all that remained to do was take out the Red Queen….. Will we have enough to overcome the Red Queen’s armies?
“Your Majesty?” I asked. “May we talk to your champion? We need to speak of war stratagies….”
“I do not have a champion. Will one of you become my champion?” asked the Queen….
“I will! I, as well as my friends, said in unison…
“It looks like a tournement must be arranged!” annouced the queen.
My stomach dropped; fight my friends? I don’t know if I could do it!
I look around at my friends. “A…..tournament?” I ask while my brain races frantically. “Yes, a tournament. To decide which of you will be my champion.” the Queen replies impatiently. “Surely you don’t mean like swords and javelins and such?” I ask, playing stupid to gain some time. The Queen looks frustrated. “Of course! What else could a tournament be?” she huffs in irritation. “Good gracious, child, have you no brain?” I pretend to ponder this. “Well, it could be a math tournament, a spelling tournament… There are many things it could have been. Thank you for clarifying.” I say mock-politely. The Queen draws in a hissing breath. “How dare you mock me!” she glares at me. “Silence! I will not accept your insolence!” I grin inwardly, but assume a humble-and slightly stupid-air. “I am very sorry, Your Majesty.” I apologize. She glares at me suspiciously then switches her attention to the rest of my friends, who are talking amongst themselves in hurried, low voices.
” A tournement!! But, What if the potion affects me agian? What do we fight? When? ” I rapidly asked questions. She made a cooler appear and poured a purple drink into cups. ” These are strength potions. They will help you become strong for the tornament tommorow.”
” Not more potions!” I groaned. ” You know what happened last time!”
Enc looked confused. Kai explained. ” When we where iin the waiting room Bluestar drunk a potion that made her a cat and it turns out it might have been defective-”
” And now I’m probably going to be turning into a cat willy-nilly untill The White Queen brews an antidote!” I finished, whining in despair. Then, like the spell wanted to prove my point; I turned into an orange tabby cat. “See?” I said. Adeia winced.
((Bluestar drank the potion.))
I must win this tournement! I thought, I cannot put my friends in harm’s way!
I began to think of ways I can do this…..
A tournament? With swords and javelins and other creative ways to get horribly mutilated? Why couldn’t we ALL be champions? I thought, hoping somebody would think of a loophole.
It came to me very quickly… How many of my friends could ride a horse? Not many, I guessed. I knew that I was probably the best horseman here…. Not to mention the fact that most animals shy away from me if they do not know me, because of how different I seem to them from your average person…. So all I needed to do would be to talk to whatever horse was assigned me and make sure we understand each other….. Now all that was left to do was make sure of the levels of my friends… I cannot let them take this danger…. After all, it was I who brought them in to this… I couldn’t let them put themselves on the line…..
((May I join/return? As my real self this time, with no fancy add-ons or anything.))
I sighed and slumped down on the floor. A few hours ago I had barely been able to restrain myself from jumping off the plane to be here sooner, now I almost wished that I’d taken an exchange year and not just a semester. I knew that the others were most likely exploring something near the cellars- logic dictated that much. Also, of all the doors that led down that I could find, one was completely dust-free and had convers-prints leading up to it.
I’d dumped my suitcase in the entrance hall and only had my backpack with me, containing some of the usual MA supplies- a nifty lycra rope, some very squished mints, a flashlight, a pocketknife, a waterproof jacket with a thick lining and a notebook and pen.
Despite my ingenious planning, I very soon started to become suspicious. The tracks always lead straight from one door to the next, without even approaching another door, very unlike musers exploring. The rooms were changing too: getting dustier and older, so that I could barely see what the walls were made of. Scratching away some of the dust, I realized that the floor was checkered in black and white. Somehow, this creeped me out. But by the time I realized that something was wrong, I was far to far away.
I turned back- actually, tried was a better word. But when I re-entered a room by the same door I left it, I was shocked to find that the dust was covering everything. Gone was the trail I’d followed, even my own footprints had disappeared. I turned tail anyway, trying to remember which doors I’d taken. The good news- the dust decreased. The bad news- I was no-where near MA or anywhere I’d ever been before.
So I gave up and sat down on the floor, feeling more than a little depressed. I was deep underground, so much was clear, I had no control over my environment, no one else was here except something that had tried to lure me away from MA and-let’s face it- succeeded admirably. The current room was circular with another creepy checkered floor made of stone and full of doors, all devoid of dust and equally unlovingly painted brown and equally uninviting.
“Let me see, which door should I take?” I asked aloud, trying to inspire confidence into myself through determination but the result was a toss-up between sarcasm, fear and despair.
“That quite depends where you want to go.” answered a voice.
Mistaking it for the little oppressed and repressed voice of reason and duty and all that annoying stuff that makes you do your homework instead of having fun, I decided to answer back. Going insane was the least of my worries right now.
“Let me see- I think I’ll settle for the lovely town of anywhere-but-here.”
“Then it doesn’t quite matter which door you take.” the voice answered. That’s when I realized I was really talking to someone else. Someone behind me. A local. I half jumped, half turned around and managed to end up on my knees without loosing the backpack. Behind me was a wispy figure of a-
“The Chesire Cat?!” I exclaimed, surprise.
“Yes, indeed. Now, where did you say you wanted to go?”
“I … I never thought that I’d actually meet you. This is so incredible! I-”
“I’m sorry to interrupt, but this is a room of coming and going. No one and nothing can stay here. We both must be gone soon and I must leave sooner or I will be missed. Now, where too?”
“I need to find the other MA students and go wherever they are. Whenever the are too.” I added, thinking of the massive spiderwebs. Something about this place creeped me out.
“Ah.” The Cheshire Cat’s grin could have spanned continents. “I never worry to much about time- perhaps that is why I am never late.”
“I just want to be there before push comes to shove.” I said awkwardly, not able to explain the strange sensation that had been haunting me since I’d arrived.
“Then that’s the door you should take.” The cat said, pointing his claw at the door right behind me. It looked just like all the others, but I went right up to it and grabbed the doorknob and shook it. “Ches, what-”
I stopped speaking as soon as I’d finished turning around. The room was empty but for me, the same old dusty doors and a faint smell of moss. “This isn’t funny.” I said, rattling the doorknob. The door appeared to be locked. “Not funny at-” I stopped to cough. It must be the dust. Thick dust covered the checkerboard floor and the doors and everything else, settling on me as well. WTF? That hadn’t been here a minute ago. I rattled the doorknobs so hard that the entire door shook and cascaded dust onto me, but I could neither break it down nor rip out the lock. Why had it suddenly gotten so dusty in here? I coughed again.
——————-
The Queen headed over to a door. “Here is the armory.” She unlocked it. A river of dust cascaded out as well as a very dusty …creature. “Oh dear. Wrong door.” She bustled over and unlocked the next door, which lead to a room full of lances and swords other pointy objects.
——————
Air! I fell unto a quite nice marble floor, coughing desperately. Finally rid of the dust in my lungs, I looked up to see some muser I recognized from last semester and some new faces, as well as a lady with a crown who I surmised to be a queen.
I inspect the dust-covered person. “Hang on- Bookgirl? Is that you under the dust?”
“Fireh?” I ask, peering up into the familiar face. “What’s going on? I asked to come at the right time, but since I nearly got asphyxiated by all that dust I must have done something wrong…”
“Well, we’re about to be forced into a tournament that will decide which of us will be the champion. See, we’re headed to the armory now.”
As we entered the armory I picked the three weapons we were allowed to bring to the tournement plus the one defensive item as well…. I picked the finest bow with a quiver of arrows, a light lance, and an ornate sword, that looked suspiciously familiar…. For my defense I picked a small amulet that strengthened my mental capabilities, so I could have my own shield around me effortlessly. I quickly ran to the stables, where I found any manner of horses. Bays, chesnuts, sorrels, roans, duns, and all others were all around me…… There was one horse, though, that caught my eye…. The sole black horse in the stable… The most beautiful stallion I had ever layed eyes on! He was midnight black, except for a perfect star ((shaped like a diamond for you non-horsey people….)) of white on his head. This was my dream horse, Midnight, who has ran in my dreams for as long as I can remember…. How did he end up here? I felt his presence in my mind….
He said, Hello Adeia. I have been waiting for you…
I went to the armory with everyone else, even though I wasn’t too crazy about the whole tournament idea. Hand-to-hand combat I could deal with, but fencing skills (or archery or anything else for that matter) = 0. I grabbed a blunt sword anyway- I didn’t want to kill my friends, but I figured I hitting them with it would result in a bruise, max. I took a sort of pike (also not sharp, basically as a sort of longer sword in case someone tried to run away- I wanted to defeat my friends, not dismember them) as well and a staff, figuring that that I would just try to get my opponent to drop his weapons and then use some capoeira to win. I got a shield to use for defense, one that strapped onto my forearm and was actually kinda neat. Now one problem remained- horses.
I can ride a little, provided the horse doesn’t go any fast than a trot, and western saddles have this hump thing I figured I could hold on too, but I’ve never really like horses. An animal that is stupid enough carry me around on it’s back all day and yet tries to stomp on my foot when I’m trying to clean its hoof for its own good doesn’t get a huge sympathy vote from me. I’ve read tons of books on that “magical connection” between horse and rider, but never felt anything more than a brief sympathy for the horse. The only problem was how to get my opponent off ens horse without hurting the horse (despite my dislike, I didn’t want to stab an innocent horse). I sighed and looked around the stables desperately.
It then occured to me. Maybe I could trie to control my ‘power’. Maybe the cat in me (( i think that the antidote won’t work fully, but i only turn into a cat like, twice a month after this.)) and I could work together. I had felt more confident. now, which horse seen to like cats? I thought. Then, I saw a curious one that had played with my kitten the summer before I left for Muse Academy. It was chestnut, with a spiral of black on back. When I was little I had called it Swirly. “Swirly??” I asked. She whinnied. I gasped. I heard giggles. My hair had fluffed up. “Oh. Great. Light socket hair.” I said.
Please forget that post. Thanks!
I looked around the armory, trying to decide on a weapon. I didn’t think I could ever bring myself to kill another human, let alone one of my friends from MA, but I didn’t want to anger the Queen.
I’d probably be best off with a sword, as I’d handled my brothers’ steel reenactment swords at home and was familar with their weight. I picked up one that didn’t seem too heavy and had a reasonably dull edge. Maybe I could inconspicuously drag it along a stone floor to dull it a little more…
I took a forearm shield from the same place as bookgirl, and a wooden staff. Now, horses would be a problem. I’d only ridden once, on a school trip to a farm on Long Island, and that had been a slow tour to the beach and back following a guide, not a joust. But still, I headed to the stables to see what horses were left.
I rushed to hug Midnight…. I knew you were real! I thought. My confidence rose, I now knew I could lead friends to safety. I walked over to the White Queen, Midnight behind me. “Let the tournament begin,” I said simply.
I finally settled on a rather placid horse, figuring it was better to have a horse rooted to the spot then one that threw me off. After all, the whole point of the tournament was bashing one-another’s heads in in a friendly and civilzed way, which I had a bit of experience in. It was only the horses I had a problem with. But what was the big deal about them anyway? I thought. Their best usefullness was, as far as I could see, that if a dragon came it could make horse-kebab while I ran away. Did I mention I don’t care much for horses? I dragged my beast behind Adeias, the one person who looked truly content at begin able to ride.
“Can’t we have different chapions for different types of combat?” I whined.
“No,” the White Queen responded to Bookgirl’s question “There can be only one, and this one will be the one to defeat the red queen.” She then turned to the others who had not picked their horses. “You have ten minutes to pick your horse and get to know him or her. You two,” she said, turning to Bookgirl and I, “may go to the arena and practice, as a reward for being the first two.”
“Thank you,” we responded, as we left.
My mind was not there though… My mind, as it is before any type of competition, was deep within me, and I was in a self reflective state, talking little and not quite there. All that was in the world for me was Midnight, Myself, the ground beneath us, the sky above us, and horse and rider, becoming one. My goal: Become the Champion, not kill my friends, or cause them any bodily harm..
((come ON people!))
((I beg of you!!!!!PLEASE COME AND POST!!!!))
I looked around. Everything loos so much bigger… Cake. I wad a cat agian. ” wung buttons.” I muttered. The horses bucked and whinnied. “At least let it wear off!” I cried.
((Is anyone else on the blog?! I feel like I am the only one here!!!! Please let us get on with it! I don’t want to completely control the story!!!))((I am not talking about you Bluestar… Thank you))
((I’m here! Sorry, I’ve been a bit busy recently.))
I walked through the stables, looking for a horse that would be just about right for me. And then I found her, towards the end of the left hand row. She was a beautiful chestnut horse, tall and strong and nice-looking. I put my hand out and gently stroked her nose.
‘Hello there,’ I said quietly.
She whinnied softly, and pushed her head into my hand. I laughed, and opened the gate, labelled with her name, ‘Autumn‘, so she could trot out.
‘Come on, girl, let’s go find a sword.’
I led Autumn towards the armoury and sorted through the various weapons they had. I finally chose an estoc, a longish sword that didn’t feel too heavy in my hand. I practised swishing and jabbing the sword, and decided that I would use this one. I had always loved swordfighting, even if it was using a ruler with some friends.
For my shield, I chose a sturdy wooden shield painted with bright colours. Strapping it onto my arm, I climbed smoothly onto Autumn and headed in the direction of the arena, where several others were already waiting.
‘This is crazy,’ muttered Bookgirl, who was seated awkwardly on her horse.
‘It’s all right,’ I replied, grinning. Autumn neighed in agreement.
I straddled the beast, trying to keep all my weapons in my saddle and wedge myself in so that Asheth- the horse was actually named Amber or so but I decided to call it Asheth after a four handed egoistical goddess in the Chrestomaninci books.
“Look, I don’t like you, you don’t like me. So you help me get my opponent off their horse and you can go home.” I whispered.
It seemed stupid that the tournament was to be decided on horseback, since being able to ride well didn’t necessarily mean you could fight well. Bluestar had the worst luck of all-turning into a cat at random didn’t help your odds.
I found a pale yellow horse with a white mane in a stall marked “Sunbeam”.
The last time I rode a horse, I’d gotten lice from my helmet, and I wasn’t terribly familiar with animals, but I reached out and patted Sunbeam’s head.
“Um, I don’t know much about horses, but can you please help me to do well and not die or kill my friends?” I asked. Sunbeam neighed as if she understood, so I led him out and tried to get some practicing in before the 10 minutes were up…
((fyi: that would be called a palamino horse… *is proud of horse craziness*))
My friends seemed to be having trouble with their horses so I offered to explain things to the animals….
Please, just behave… we all mean you no harm, we just wish to ride you for most likely no more than an hour. Would you please just listen to your rider? Most of them have very little experience and/or don’t mean to turn into a cat. Would you do that for me at least?
I got consent from most of the horses… That is, all except Bluestar’s… Midnight, who apparently was their herd’s leader, gave en a more firm talk, and en consented….
The White Queen, seeing everyone ready, annouced, “Let the games begin! Good luck to all of you. Adeia and _______, you are up first. The joust is the first event. Winner of this match goes on until they lose, upon which the winner of that match goes on. The joust ends once everyone has been in the arena at least twice. The person with the most wins gets an advantage in the next event, either sword fights or archery.”
((whoever wants to go can fill in the blank…………))
((Hello? Anyone here? I feel quite lonely…. ))
((still feeling lonely))
((Hey, I’m not having trouble with my horse!))
We stood with our horses at the side of the arena, and when everyone was ready, the White Queen announced, ‘Let the games begin! Good luck to all of you. Adeia and ______, you are up first. The joust is the first event. Winner of this match goes on until they lose, upon which the winner of that match goes on. The joust ends once everyone has been in the arena at least twice. The person with the most wins gets an advantage in the next event, either sword fights or archery.’
((I don’t want to go first, by the way.))
I watched as Adeia and _____ walked nervously into the main arena and headed into opposite directions, until they stood at the very ends of the stadium facing each other with their horses.
The Queen blew the whistle once. ‘Get on your horses!’ she shouted.
Adeia swung easily onto hers.
‘Get ready!’ the Queen barked.
They both adjusted their shields and readied their chosen swords.
‘Aaaand…GO!’ the Queen yelled for one last time, and, upon hearing her command, the two first contestants began charging towards one another.
(( Let’s assume i am now riding a more cooperative horse. And one that speaks cat. otherwise it would eat me. And i would like to keep it.)) ((( Wait, i posted this before! was it zapped?))
I boarded my new horse, which has not tried to stampede me yet. Hmm… Owl seems like a nice horse. I boarded him. He actually didn’t freak out. I liked this horse.
“Oh.. You’re the one who randomly turns into a cat..” Owl said. Now it was turn for me to freak out.
“How are you talking to me?” I exclaimed.
” Simple. You’re half cat right now, I speak cat. You can understand cat speak.” I nearly fainted. Instead, the potion found it best to turn me into a cat.
“I’m not going to ride a horse.” I say. I don’t ride any horses.
The White Queen pulls me over, and tells me to get on a horse.
“Sorry. I don’t ride horses.” I say.
“What do you do?”
“I read. I write. I play music.”
“You’re useless!” She yells.
“And what’s wrong with being useless?” I ask. “Trust me, you aren’t going to be able to get a horse I can ride. Unless it’s sleeping. Even then, I’d probably manage to get it to explode.”
“Well, then… just watch the tournament.” She says. I lean at the gate, watching Adeia and _____. I hum to myself.
Look at me still talking when there’s Science to do.
When I look down there it makes me GLaD I’m not you…
I suddenly realized something.
“White Queen?” I asked “Do you have iron? And some aluminum? Preferably in powder form? And a gas mask?”, sounding perfectly innocent.
“Yes….” She said.
I hate horses, and I immediately point out this fact. They hate me, too. Suddenly I find myself standing by Enceladus, having been deemed ‘useless’, unless the White Queen wanted a court bard, which, unfortunately, she already had. I hum to myself, working out the lyrics of a new song.
“F+H!” I say, slightly surprised. “Would you like to help me create a huge explosion? With lots of fire? Probably not much blood. With it, we’ll be able to stop the tournament.”
I grin at Enc. “You bet I would. You’ve got supplies?” He nods. “From the White Queen herself.” a messenger-esque person appears and gives Enceladus some materials. “Brilliant.” I look at what he’s got and rub my hands together excitedly. Suddenly the lyrics of a new song pop into existence within my head.
There won’t be much blood
But there’s fire
Watching the flames
leaping higher
and higher
We’ll stop the fight
we’ll end the battle
the end of the night
and a light in the darkness…
I sing to myself quietly as we get to work. “You don’t like horses, huh?” Enc asks me. I shudder. “Horses. Don’t even mention them. I rode on a horse. Once. At a fall festival at my school, when I was in second grade. I was miserable. And fell off, too.”
I wait nervously with my horse, as Selenium and I are do to fight each other after Adeia finishes with her partner. I look over and see Enceladus and fireh huddled together and passing things to each other.
“I wonder what they’re up to…” I whispered, trying to sneak over in order to get a better look.
((Wait, I had an easier and more realistic idea. Can I, instead of asking for iron and aluminum, have asked for 100 grams of sulfur, 150 grams of burnt wood, 750 grams of saltpeter, some twine, and some matches?))
“This is the recipe for gunpowder. Or, in other words, and explosion in powder form.” I whisper to f+h “The ancient Chinese used it to scare off creatures they thought were evil demons. I’m pretty sure that these folks haven’t heard of it. The White Queen didn’t even look worried about it.”
“Wait, so we’re going to be blowing up the Red Queen’s place?” f+h asked.
“Of course not. More people would get hurt than if there was a tournament. No, we’re just going to scare away all the horses. I sure hope they get a break between matches.” I said. I ran back to the White Queen.
“Do they get breaks between matches? Because I really want to talk to Adeia.”
“Of course they get breaks. If you want to see the horses, they’ll be in the stable.” The Queen said, giving me more information than I had hoped for, but could certainly use.
“Thanks!” I said, running off!
“Success!” I told f+h. “We should prepare it near the stable, out of view from the front.” We ran off, careful to not drop our ingredients.
I follow Enc, being careful not to drop anything. “I hope this doesn’t hurt anyone.” I say. “Except for enemies, that is.”
I see Kai go off, though she tries to be quiet, and I watch where she is going. To my surprise, I find Enc and Fireh huddled together, looking very suspicious. I creep off after Kai, leaving our horses tied to the fence next to each other. I do not want to fight Kai at all – she is one of my very best friends at the Academy!
((Has anyone noticed how we switch around from past to present tense?))
I easily triumph over my first oppnent, as well as my second and third. No harm comes to any of them as I use my telekinisis to dull my lance and slow/cushion their fall. They might just have a bruise there in the morning. After the first 3 matches we got our first break. I rode, bareback over to Enc and company and immeadiatly realized what they were doing. I subtly rode far away.
((Yes. I guess I’ll be the one fighting Adeia, then.))
Once again, our horses thundered past each other on a narrow miss. While Adeia was an excellent rider, I was older (i.e. bigger) and my pike was slightly longer than her lance. I also think it scared her horse somewhat since I accidentally thwacked it in the side on one of our first passes. This put us at a draw: I could endlessly attack, but she could easily dodge my attacks and I could easily ward off hers. Except that someone had to win, and we’d both been fighting fair so far. Pretty soon, it would be crunch time when the queen got bored.
((Midnight doesn’t get spooked…. Besides… You are a little late….))
((Sorry, I didn’t see that post. Just ignore it.))
“You know, now that I think about it, I don’t really want to battle anyone. I don’t want to make enemies, Because I don’t really have friends.” I said.
Owl nodded his head. I gathered my courage and marched to the White Queen. ” Uh… Excuse me, Your Majesty, Can I sit out the fight? But, I’d like to keep Owl.” I said.
“Very well. I’ll be working on that antidote. Are you okay with being here in the winter?”
” WINTER!!”
“Well, that is when the Wolkensroot grows.”
“Then I guess I’ll just stay like this.” I said.
f+h and I finish mixing the ingredients. Laying down the twine, we get as far away as possible and light a match. We run.
As the powder goes up in a blast of light and heat, all the horses scatter from the stable, which is smashed by running horses.
Staring at the fire, I tell f+h “Isn’t science wonderful?”
BOOOMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Something just went on fire in the stables. f+h and enc ran from the stable. I shake my head, but remember not to tell anyone.
“Yes indeed it is.” I watch the fire as well, a grin spreading across my face. “Extremely wonderful.” I add as the White Queen starts yelling.
BOOM!
Just after Adeia finished trouncing another practice oponent, the stables blew up and the white queen had a fit. “Great timing.” I thought.
Firwh and Enc stood out of the queen’s sight, grinning. I sauntered over to them. “Great idea!” I remarked. “Now let’s get out of here before she remembers what we’re supposed to be doing and that the chopping order goes on- now that Adeia has defeated the locals, Selenium and Kai would be next. Does any of you know how to get out of this place? ‘Cause I’m all for defeating the red queen, but we can’t win playing the game the way they want us too. No matter who gets chosen champion and no matter how good en is at riding or capoeira, en will get eaten alive out there. The whole epic armies colliding, etc, also only sounds fun when it’s far away from me. This isn’t about bravery- it’s about survival and victory. We need to take out the red queen before this war starts, and my enemy’s enemy isn’t necessarily my friend. In short- let’s run away, infiltrate the red queen’s castle and take her out or sabotage her army, preferably before our enemies attack us or our allies try to convince us to maim each other.”
Upon hearing the bang I turned Midnight around and rode back as fast as possible. I came back to a horrible sight. The horses we didn’t pick were still locked in their burning stalls! They were frantically trying to escape, some injuring themselves in the process . I quickly flipped all the locks and opened the stalls. The horses, along witb the the ones chosen by my friends quickly escaped into the woods. In the process, tne frightened horses rushed past Midnight and I. Midnight reared in an attempt to gain order, but in the process, I was knocked off by the stampede of horses. I felt a excruciating pain in my left arm, and then I blacked out. The last thing I saw was Midnight looking down at me with worry.
((The horses broke through the wood, none were injured. There’s wasn’t fire in the stable, and they’d fled quickly. They were all just spooked from the heat and light.))
Selenium and I heard the explosion and covered our heads. We heard bookgirl shouting a plan and hurried after her.
((revised version follows…))
Upon hearing the explosion, I raced back to the stables as fast as we could, to make sure everything was going according to plan. On the way there, we ran into the escaping stampede of horses. Without notice, Midnight reared, in an attempt to regain order. Caught off my guard, I was knocked from his back by one of the other horses. I felt an excruciating pain in my left arm, and I blacked out, with Midnight looking down on me with concern in his eyes. I just hoped someone would find me, or Midnight, soon, as we were very far from the palace grounds….
Sophie~
I had been lagging behind everyone for a while, knowing that I couldn’t do any kind of fighting, whatsoever. Plus, after seeing Enc’s discussion with the White Queen, I knew she wouldn’t be too pleased with more than one “useless”. Everyone, being so caught up in the tournament (and explosives), didn’t notice I stayed in the shadows and never chose a horse. After mostly everyone was out of the stables, I watched Enc and Fireh for a little while, and then did a bit of exploring close by. I didn’t want to get myself lost or in a fix. But when I heard a explosion, I raced back toward waht I thought was the direction of the stables. On my way, I saw Adeia lying on the ground. Looking around for someone, I realized I was farther away from the palace than I had assumed.
“Hello?” I tentatively called out, “Anyone?” I tried yelling louder: “Can anybody hear me?!” I waited. No response. That was when I noticed the black horse nearby.
“Hey,” I said softly to him, “What’s wrong with Adeia?”
Kai hurried off to find bookgirl, who was yelling something over the din, and I quickly followed.
‘What do you think’s going on?’ I shouted to Kai, as I rushed after her.
‘I have no idea!’ she said frantically. ‘Let’s go and find out! Hurry!‘
We ran over to where bookgirl was standing, and I asked, ‘What’s happening?’
‘Enc and Fireh blew something up to scare away all the horses, so we don’t have to fight anymore.’
‘And?’
She tried to shrug nonchalantly. ‘I’m trying to find the others. The problem is, they didn’t really tell us the plan, so none of us know where to go. I guess I’ll head around behind the stables to see if Enc and Fireh are still there.’
‘We’ll come with you.’ said Kai instantly. I nodded my agreement.
“Oh, Heck yeah! Who wants to steal a map and then plan our journey!” It was silent. “And find normal food and drink!”
I was in a bare, white room, with a single window and no door. I looked out the window and below me , I saw…. myself? My broken form was laying there, when Sophie approached, and, upon noticing Midnight, asked him, “What’s wrong with Adeia?”
I was pulled from the window when I heard of voice come from behind me. “Hello, Adeia,” it said. I turned around and saw… The White Queen?
((just ignore that post…. I forget what I was thinking…))
((hello? Anybody? I am lonely out here!!!))
“Guys, in here!” I pointed the way down a white hallway where the floor was covered in shiny blue tiles. They were the same color as the sky, and what looked like clouds floated past here and there. If we hadn’t been escaping, I would have liked to stay and just watch the sky-floor, or at least taken a longer look.
“Maybe we should… AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH” I screamed as i fell through the sky-floor.
‘What are we going to do now?’ I panicked. I was testing the sky-floor carefully before I took each step, scared to end up the same way as owl, who had fallen through the floor.
Everyone rushed to see where owl had gone. It looked like owl was falling up, since she was falling through the sky.
((Am I allowed to join or is it to late))
((Hello, draconis! We haven’t seen you around here lately. Why don’t you go to the random thread and tell us what you and The Bookworm have been up to?))
“HEY GUYS!!! THERE”S A GREAT VIEW UP HERE! AND FOOD!! AND DRINKS!!! I THINK THEIR NORMAL!!” I shouted.
((SilverLeopard? Calling Siliver Leopard.))
((Entering out of sheer boredom.

I walked through a door-planning to simply get back to Muse Academy, after my long absence-and, stepping through, noticed that I appeared to be falling through the sky.
“Oh, caaaaaake!” I yelled, plunging through the pale blue sky…and, seemingly, into a floor, from below? As I crashed through the floor, I ran into bookgirl, who appeared to be simply standing on the same sky I’d just came from.
“Oh hey, bookgirl, what’s going on?” I asked from my position (which was currently just lying on my stomach on bookgirl’s own; not the most gratifying). “Who are all these people-” I looked below, staring at the girl next to a table full of food and drink; who appeared to be floating in the same sky I’d just fallen through. “And what the heck are they doing there?”
White finishing my sentence, making no move to get myself off bookgirl, I noticed a pair of doors at the end of the hallway. They were large doors, but seemed like they’d open easily-and through them; because they were transparent; I spotted what appeared to be a cabinet with a wood door. “Hey, guys, let’s check that out. There’s got to be something in that cabinet past-” I pointed, pushing myself up onto my knees, to bookgirl’s side- “that door. After all, it’s got handles!”
((I would also like to handle what is in the cabinet. Let my character open it.))
((Hey, Witchneko! Welcome! It’s fine with me if you want to open the cabinet, so…go ahead and post if you want!))
” Guys, I’ ve got a bad feeling about this…” I said, as We headed towards what looked like a huge cabinet door.
“Eh, wimp,” I rolled my eyes at Bluestar. “I took a trans-dimensional trip to an academy for teenage girl assassins this year; that’s why I was so late for the school year. Normally I stay here year-round…but something came up.”
I muttered something under my breath sounding like “stupid poison nail polish”, but it sounded much like gibberish.
((Are characters starting to wander over from Superheroes and Mary Sues?))
((Nah. I just tend to make mine insane. If needed, you can cut the ‘trans-dimensional’ trip part?))
((Will someone please come find me? Or will SilverLeopard come back? At least notice my character is missing…. My character is kinda unconcious and can’t really do anything….. ))
” Hey! I’m not a wimp! Unless wimps have part time jobs on time flying trapeze, and do cartwheels on tightropes.” I said, Stomping towards the cabinet.” Anyways where’s Adeia? “
“…Really,” I deadpanned towards Bluestar, rolling my eyes. “I still like my family field trips better, until my two cousins get involved.”
I did a doubletake when Adeia was mentioned. “Adeia? The phoenix Adeia? The one who went to the moon at that one point? She’s missing?” Eyes wide, I dashed to the large cabinet, pulling it open (as I suddenly realized that this room’s ceiling was about 40 feet tall, obscenely large)…
There was a rusted tinkle of carnival music, the sort you’d find in a music-box, as the doors spread with an exhaled breath of dust. I was forced to back away as it wheezed open untunefully, filling the air with song that seemed slightly-off, atonal, unsettling. The cabinet was lit brightly from behind, and it opened with a rattle to a series of potions.
The potions were bottles with corks wedged firmly in their necks. Within their glass skins were bubbling, parti-coloured liquids, frothing and sizzling silently. The music was cut off all of a sudden as the doors opened as far as they would go. (Besides the cabinet appeared to be a sink, complete with faucet-there was likely a reason for this, but it was Wonderland; who knew?)
A gaily-colored paper was stuck to the insides of the left door. On it read this poem:
Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker,
What is alive will not make you sicker!
Dinner? You’re thinner.
On the other door, a yellow Post-It note heralded:
DRINK ME, and written on the back of it, it said:
What changes its’ scent, or has more than one-
Just a mouse, when things are done.
In front of me, I noticed, there were twelve potions. Each potion looked alike, barring color…
From left to right, the potions were colored red, yellow, pink, green, purple, orange, blue, teal, white, black, brown and beige. Each potion had a cork in it.
“Huh,” I wondered thoughtfully, looking at the wall above it. It appeared to have a set of things we could do to the potions, and read like this:
Actions that may be performed on each potion:
INVESTIGATE
TAKE
UNCORK
DRINK
EMPTY
REFILL (ONLY IF EMPTIED OR DRUNK EARLIER)
RECORK (ONLY IF UNCORKED EARLIER)
“It seems to be a poem,” I spoke. “Sicker? Maybe we should check what these smell like, because if the ‘unliving’ things make you sicker, smelling them might help us figure out which are good to drink.” And with this, I uncorked the red bottle and smelled it-
It smelled like cooked chicken, mixed with sweat. Despite the fact it looked like freshly-smelled blood, it smelled like chicken mixed with sweat. “Huh,” I muttered again, recorking the bottle and placing it back on the shelf.
((OOC: this is a puzzle. This is a puzzle.
There are large doors on the walls, but the doorknobs are at least 15 feet up-you can’t reach it, right now. Perhaps a potion can help.
Each potion will have different effects, some extremely bad, some good, and some…well…just odd. The effects of the potions are hinted at by one of the poems!
Mixing potions will have a particular effect; hinted at by one of the poems.
tThe faucet has two handles. The left one makes it spray water…and the other makes it spray paint, which will cause a random transformation should the paint get on your skin.))
F+H and I had gone with the group, but while the sky floor fell in, we landed in a different bit. A wall separated us from the rest of everyone else, and it was too high to climb or even see over. The ground was flat, grey and so were the walls. On the ground, there were two long objects. They looked almost like guns, and there was a trigger. I picked one up. I shot it at the wall. A blue-ish spot on the wall appeared, high up. F+H picked up the other, and shot it next to us. The blue spot changed, but it was hard to see. The other spot, surrounded by orange, we could see through, and it looked down on… us.
“These are obviously portals that link from one point to the other!” I said. I walked through the orange portal. I landed below the blue portal with a thump.
” Yes, really, do I look like a liar? ” I muttered under my breath. ” If it smells like cooked chicken… Then it’s dinner. We shouldn’t drink it.” I announced.
Witchneko rolled her eyes.
“But it smells like sweat too,” I protested, wrinkling my nose. “Why don’t you try one, Bluestar? I shouldn’t have to do all the work here!” I pushed the yellow bottle towards her, uncorking it.
It, mysteriously, smelled like Twinkies. “…Does that count as dinner? Maybe the candy’s bad, and same with alcohol. So…what’s ‘living’?” Just for fun, I walked over to the faucet, and cranked the right handle. Teal paint shot out and sprayed over my face, creating a thick stripe around my eyes. “Ewwww!” I squeaked, stumbling back from the faucet.
I selected a purple bottle. As soon as i uncorked it, my face turned slightly green. ” Skunk!” I gasped. I gagged.
((I am posting from third person since I am bored and my character has been left in wonderland unconsious…))
Adeia lay there, her broken form being nudged by Midnight. Sophie had disappeared, without a trace. There were noises coming from the bushes. Midnight went over to investigate. By this time, night had fallen and Midnight, with his pitch black coat, was virtually invisible. Midnight saw men approaching towards the grove. They were in the uniform of the White Queen’s guard.
The evil men!!! Midnight thought, for these men had captured Midnight from his wild home, just before Adeia arrived. They had treated him cruelly. He ran back to Adeia. She was his rider and he must protect her. When he got to her, a change in her body began to occur. Adeia grew smaller and red. Her arms became wings, her mouth, a beak. Soon, Adeia was completely a phoenix. Her left wing, obviously broken, then began to heal. Midnight watched all this with awe. Once her wing was back to normal, Adeia stirred in her unconciousness. She slowly made her way back to reality.
“Where am I?” she asked. After a moment, “Who am I? What am I?”
((Cake. Forgot the closing . O HTML gnome! I beg of you to put it after the !!! please. Thank you!))
((Thank you, HTML Gnome!))
I frowned at Bluestar again, grabbing the bottle. “Smells like alcohol of some kind. Not safe to drink. Are you going to drink anything, or-”
My face felt slightly itchy from where the paint had sprayed on it, and I scratched it wincingly with my other hand. “Bluestar, what’s happening it to my face?”
Feathery. My face was feathery. I couldn’t see it, but the iridescent, peacock-colored stain around my eyes was gradually evolving into some kind of carnival mask. (Sadly, one of those feathery carnival masks.)
I suppressed my laughter. Witchneko was a peacock. ” You’re- You’re a peacock! “
((I apologize for not being here. Big bad projects have invaded my life, as they often do at the end of the school year.))
Sophie~
“Protect Adeia, please,” I said, addressing the horse, “I’m going to try to find help.”
Trying to be rational, I ran off into the woods. Where did I come from? Which way did I go? How do I get back? I scoured my brain, hoping some omniscient being would pop the answer in front of my nose.
As if granting my wish, a voice behind me said, “Lost? I can help.” I flinched, then slowly turned, to find a head staring at me. The head of a cat… the Cheshire Cat!
“I need to get help! Adeia’s injured! I don’t know what to do and I don’t know where I am and I don’t know why I’m here! Please help me!” I babbled.
“You’re the kind of person who runs away, then thrusts the problem on someone else, right?”
I shouted and babbled some more.
“Be quiet!” said the Cat, “I’ll find someone. Go back to your injured friend, please.” He seemed a bit exhausted of me already.
“Thankyouthankyouthankyou,” I said, and ran back to the place where Adeia was, tripping over roots and rocks all the while.
She wasn’t there. There was no body there, no Adeia lying slumped and unconscious on the ground.
“Adeia?” I said tentatively, “Adeia?” And then with growing concern: “Adeia! Adeia!”
I turned to look at the horse, but then a voice behind spoke. I flinched again, and turned, to see… a phoenix.
“Don’t worry, Sophie,” it said in Adeia’s voice, “I’ve transformed, I think. Tell me, am I a phoenix?”
I nodded slowly. “Y-yeah,” I stuttered, “Why? Are you healed?”
“I’m great,” she answered, flexing her left wing, “It’s all healed.”
“I met the Cheshire Cat,” I said, smiling slightly at the memory of the encounter, “I asked for help. What should we do now?”
I growled at Bluestar in an almost feline (possibly like a bird’s angry chirp, who knew what was going on) manner. “Shut up. It feels like feathers or something like that, am I right?” Restraining the urge to scratch my face again, I smelled the white bottle. (The stain was changing second by second, changing into peacock feathers growing from my skin, and my blue eyes were tinged with a bit of shimmery green. If this went on, I’d be half-feathered in less than five minutes.)
“…Mouthwash,” I giggled, feeling a little light-headed from all the scents in a row. “It smells like mouthwash. Isn’t that funny?” (It really wasn’t, but I was spacing out a bit at this point. Maybe I’d drink something.) “Let’s figure out the poem and drink something! Look at those doors! You should drink the red!” Giggling again, I shoved the red potion at Bluestar, it already uncorked to the point where-with the velocity-it would splash a lot onto her face.
And if it did and she swallowed some, well, it’d have three effects-in going with the poem. Red was mixed, dinner, and a living thing-so she would not enjoy it, nosiree.
((I decide effects because I know this puzzle the best. Trust me.))
(( witchneko, Im already half cat, so it wouldn’t effect me.))
I turned into a cat and hissed. ” You know, you birds should be aware of cats.”
The potion shattered on the floor, sailing over Bluestar. “This is Wonderland, idiot,” I replied, feeling better, “rules are reversed here. I don’t care if you’re a cat, it will still work. Which potion should I drink?”
Staring at the potion, I kept my hands locked to my side, restraining the powerful urge to scratch my face. The ink appeared to be spreading over my skin, climbing down to my ears and neck. But it wasn’t feathering anymore (that effect seemed to be kept to the area around my eyes, which were sprouting iridescent feathers-oddly, my eyelashes were also longer now, noticeably glamorously longer); just covering my skin with shimmering ink. “Hmmm…candy will be bad, I guess. Two-scented things shrink. Alcohol makes you sick. Living things…the only effect not covered is growing, so that’s…yeah.” As I turned around, the unstopped faucet sprayed over my back and hands with silver paint. “Damnit,” I swore, rubbing the top of my head before stopping.
It might not have been obvious to me, but to Bluestar, it was clear that that had been cat paint. And enough cat paint to make me into-a mild catgirl? My ears were turning silver and moving to the top of my head, my hair turning pale gray, and I was growing a tail.
And my arms, in spatters below the elbow and then fully below the wrist, were growing furry and silver with little spots of dark gray. And my nails seemed longer and sharper. (I just had no luck with Muse Academy. Especially on our otherworldly travels.)
“Okay, guys, can we please not drink any more potions until we’ve examined every one?” I asked, in my pittiful attempt at a loud “Voice of Command”.
“Oh, Welcome to catdom.” I said sarcastically. Witchneko just hissed.
I whined at Kai, although it sounded more like a meow. “But I wasn’t even drinking anything!” I stopped that stupid faucet, wincing as my legs were sprayed with sapphire-blue paint; which appeared to be dragon paint.
My lower legs were now scaled with sapphire-hued dragon scales, and my feet hurt, epically my ankles; which had gotten the brunt of the burst. It felt like the bones were reforming-likely, they were, which was why I was hating that faucet.
“Kaiiiii, just drink something! Not the candy-scented ones, though, those’ll kill you. Hmmm…drink the mouthwash one, then the red one.” I shoved the red and white potions at her, wincing again as I fell to the floor. Yeah, my ankles were definitely reshaping, and…
I almost felt like turning on the faucet again.
And those shimmering, iridescent feathers around my eyes and nose were still growing longer. They were definitely real, but why so long?
Pulling myself back to my knees, I grabbed the black potion and the purple potion, thrusting them at Bluestar. “Mix these together, drink them. Do it.”
“What are you-”
“Listen to me!” I almost shouted, my pupils dilating so that they were catlike…or dragonlike. “Just trust me, okay? Those should make it work.”
“Ok.” I mixed them together and drunk them. Inconvinently, I had just rurbed into a cat.
” Witchneko, is this supposed to make you stay the same?”
“Nah,” I grinned, my teeth seeming much sharper, “the effects are just delayed. You should be feeling them right…about…now.”
Bluestar turned back into a human instantly as I said ‘now’, probably losing about 20 pounds of weight, making her thinner. She appeared to shoot up to about 25 feet in height (clothes with her, thankfully) than shrank down to about ten.
“Told you,” I smirked. “How’s the height working out? Kai, yours will do the same thing, except you’ll stay tall. We need tall people to unlock the doors, don’t we?”
The sight of Sophie reminded me of everything. However, I was still a phoenix. This had its advantages though…. It increased the range of my mental capablities and allowed me to pinpoint my other friends right away. As a phoenix, I would easily be able to transport myself there, but not Sophie and Midnight. Hmmm….. I found Ches and called him over.
Ches, I thought, You can transport other people with you, correct?
Correct, he replied. I assume that is what you wish, Adeia?
Correct, I replied.
He put a paw on both Sophie and Midnight and Evaporated. I too then disapeared from the scene.
*poof* We arrived in the potions room. I perched on a high beam, out of sight. Only Ches knew I was there, will the other two weren’t sure if I made it. I watched the scene unfurl below me.
Adiea poofed into the room just as I poofed into a (giant cat.)
” Oh, great.”
(( I said I was out of sight. You do not notice I am there.))
(oh. Sorry)
I frowned. “…I need some normalizer, or something-AH! That’s it!” I drank a sip of the black potion, which made me about as tall as Bluestar; than threw some red potion at her face. “Shrinking,” I commented, as she shrunk back to three feet.
Then I drank another sip of black, making me hit about 20 feet (hey, I was crazy, the 30-foot doors were there and waiting to be unlocked). “20 points to Gryffindor!” I grinned, attempting to unlock the large door. My voice almost sounded like the sound system in an IMAX theater, or it would if I said anything loudly! “I can’t hear either one of you,” I whispered to Kai and Bluestar (it still sounded like the sound in an IMAX, but about half of loud), “unless I lean down really low, so I’m just going to try to unlock the door. Don’t drink anything that smells like candy.” And with this, I grabbed the large key in the door, rattling it.
That was when the ceiling started to move downwards. The feathers on my face waved in the sudden breeze, and my tail twitched back and forth restlessly. “Potions that have more than one scent shrink you! There might be some doors at the floor, I can’t reach them, you guys need to check.”
((Can the GAPAs delete the first two paragraphs, but leave the last? Thank you~))
((Okay, I know I haven’t on here posted in a while – SORRY – , but does anyone know where my character is supposed to be and the characters that she is with at the moment?))
((Everyone should be in the potions room…. BTW I got nothing to continue the story))
((‘Ello? Anybody?))
((I’m here!))
((I’m here. I’ll try something.))
Midnight and I appeared in large room with a high ceiling. Standing on the floor, in various shapes, heights, and forms were Witchneko, Bluestar, and Kai.
“Hi,” I said, “Is there anything I can do?”
Sophie appeared out of nowhere. “Hmm… “I said, grabbing a chocolate cake. ” Try this.”
((80-Sorry I haven’t posted! I’ve been busy lately.))
I inspect the portals, tilting my head sidways as I think. “Hmm. Do you think we could use them to get out of here?” I ask Enc, inspecting the gun-shaped device. I make a pair of portals and hop through the first, almost landing on top of him. “Whoops! Sorry, Enc!”, I apologize, looking at the two holes in time and space. “Curiouser and curiouser.” I say with a mocking grin, quoting Alice from Alice in Wonderland, the book. Enc rolls his eyes at me. I raise an eyebrow back. “Couldn’t help it, now could I? We’re in Wonderland! Or was it Underland? Can’t remember.”
“NOOOO!!!” I swooped down and grabbed the cake from Sophie’s hand. I could tell it was poisoned. I dropped it and Midnight pulverized it into a mush. I then landed on his head and he reacted as a phoenix landing on his head was the most nomal thing in the world. “Hello,” I said to my friends as they all looked at me with bewilderment…
” Huh? I thought that was a shrinking cake! ” I said.
Sophie~
“Adeia!” I said, grinning widely, “There you are!”, just as Bluestar said, “Huh? I thought that was a shrinking cake!” A wild clamor arose as everyone began yelling questions and remarks. Kai, attempting to quiet us all down, yelled, “Be quiet!” Witchneko said the same, in a voice that matched her height. Then, when everyone was quiet, she whispered (still too loud), “What happened?”
((I is disapoint. 2 posts since I left…. That is just sad…))
((Pie girl?))
(( Yes???))
((Revive the thread?
‘Cause of SilverLeopard’s post, let’s assume I managed to shrink myself back down to normal…well, still pretty tall, but within the range of normal.))
(( Okay.))
‘Does anyone know what just – ?’ I started in a whisper, but was interrupted by a loud ‘Shhhhh!’ And then, Kai repeated, fearfully, ‘What just happened?’
‘Hey!’ I said indignantly. ‘That’s what I was going to ask!’ But no one heard me, since everyone’s eyes were turned towards Adeia, who had just dropped in from the ceiling.
((Pie girl, SilverLeopard, Adeia, get back here!))
((Okay, I’m here.))
Sophie~
“Adeia got hurt and transformed into a phoenix while I had run off to get help. I found the Cheshire Cat and he brought Midnight and I here and…” I trailed off.
“What have all of you been doing?” Adeia asked, “You seem to have taken on all sorts of forms while Sophie and I were gone. And where’s Enc and Fireh?”
“We… uh… did a bit of experimenting to try to open these door,” said Kai, gesturing to the range of doorways on the walls, “I don’t know where Fireh and Enc are, though.”
“Certain potion do certain things,” Witchneko warned, “Just don’t try anything that smells like candy or alcohol. Those do bad, bad stuff.”
((sorry… This threads has seemed like it’s been teetering along))
“Hmmm….” I said, though it sounded rather strange, as a bird’s beak isn’t really meant for hmmm-ing. “I will try to help the best I can, as it would be rather hard to drink from those flasks by myself. Has anyone tried even going through the portals? They appear to be open. Also, has anyone noticed what you spell if you slightly rearrange the first letters of the actions you may do with each potion? If you take the ‘IN’ from the first action, and move one of the ‘R’s you can spell ‘INTRUDER’ which suggests to me that we should try the portals as soon as possible before someone comes to wherever we are and finds out there actually are intruders!”
“Wait, what portals? There aren’t any portals here.”
Sophie nodded towards the portals.
“…I swear those weren’t there. Why can’t I have a touch of normalcy for once? I mean, why do I have to be sprayed by the faucet with the transforming paint?”
“What?”
”Check my ankles, you idiot,” I snarked. And then my face grew a little worried.
“What’s wrong with all of us? It’s like the things that happen to others don’t exist for everyone else…”
“That is… Except me…. I can see everything…. It might be because I came in after it all happened…. But we don’t have time for that…. Let’s try a portal… Quick… I sense people approaching with bad intentions.” I said
((Ello?))
((Anyone?))
((Silverleopard and Selenium need to get back here!))
((Please?))
I think I want to join, but I’m not exactly sure what’s goin on at the moment; could I please have a summary or something similar maybe?
We’re in Wonderland in a magical place where magical stuff happens. Go crazy.
((Aak! Sorry! I’ve been so busy with school stuff, getting back after being gone for three weeks.))
Sophie~
“Which one?” I asked.
“One close to the ground, preferably,” said Kai, “How about that one, on the left?”
“But how do we know how safe they are?” Witchneko/Spiritwitch argued, “Maybe we should go for a higher one, those are hard to reach and might be safer. Most people would go for the easier ones, which might lead to a trap.”
((I have to get off the computer now. Sorry!))
MIRA
Kai objected to that statement, obviously. “But wouldn’t it be perfectly intuitive to make the bigger doors fake, since you have to work to open them? It turns around the logic.”
There was no response to that, so I just feebly made a little growling noise and hoped it sounded intelligent.
“I personally say split up…. I’ll be able to tell if anyone is in danger. I will then send Chesire to come and evaporate everyone to the safest spot.”
((HELLO?!??!?!? HELL-O? Please don’t let this thread die.))
Huh?
((I’ll try not to! I’m sorry I haven’t been around, I’ve been busy with school and stuff, so…anyway I’m sorta behind on this thread so does anyone know where my character is/what she should be doing? Thanks!))

((Okay! This RPG is officially dead!
How about a new Muse Academy RPG thread, GAPAs!
Also, to everyone involved, would anybody mind if I pulled a Reset Button out of my back pocket just to make everything make sense again? It can be paired with a Ret Con if so desired.))
I’ll start a new thread for you, but I’ll keep this open for the moment in case anybody wants to reply here.
((What do you mean by Reset Button and Ret Con?))
