I was about to ask, why no 2.5? Continuing from the last thread, just like SMG, LBP looks like it would be better if you only got the second one, so it would seem even newer and cooler when you played it.
First post?
It’s funny you should mention that, because I just watched the trailer for the second one – and it looks great. Maybe not as ground-breaking as the first one, but if I ever get a PS3, I’m definitely going to get both of them
Yeah! And I love the song! It’s still stuck in my head…
Here’s the YouTube link: dang, won’t work on my iPod Touch. Oh well…
Woooo! Thanks, guys. Now I just have to find someone else on the blog that enjoys a mix of the Elder Scrolls, Call of Duty and Need for Speed.
From your previous icon, I could infer that you had an iDevice, so how is Need for Speed: Shift? Do you have it? I’m thinking about getting it, but I’m not sure whether it eould be worth it.
you say you like call of duty, but your picture is of the halo 3 machinima character caboose. there still has not been a call of duty webisode like RvB.
Hey Halomaniac: PEOPLE CAN LIKE BOTH HALO AND CALL OF DUTY.
I have this awesome app on my iPod touch called Doodle Jump. Does anyone else have it?
Who doesn’t? I mean, seriously. I just finished playing a game of it. No kidding!
yes
MOST. ADDICTING. GAME. EVER.
2.1 – I don’t have Shift, I have Undercover. Bought it for 7.99, my first app, after Pocket God. Well, Undercover was entertaining for a little while, but it got old. I’d recommend N.O.V.A. by Gameloft, because of the multiplayer. Tap Tap Revenge 3 is by far the best game I have ever played on iPod, and it’s free. Minisquadron is great, along with We Rule, Zombieville, and Trenches. Also check out iGun Ulitmate, IMDb and xkcd.
Oh, only a FEW recommendations.
Out of all those:
TTR3
Zombieville, USA
xkcd
N.O.V.A.
Good luck, but from my experience I would not recommend Shift, but having not played it, I can’t be accurate.
And, no, I do not have Doodle Jump. I’m flat out broke – I just bought another PS3 game. ANOTHER!
For PS3, I have, in order of preference:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 — Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Bioshock
Midnight Club: Los Angeles
Batman: Arkham Asylum
You mean you don’t have Little Big Planet?! Get it now! Go, go, go!
Yeah, I’m getting N.O.V.A. the instant I get an iTunes gift card. My favorite game on iPhone might actually be Sonic 2, just because it’s one of the best games ever overall.
My DS is confiscated, but I guess I’ll update on my SoulSilver status:
My team is all level 49, and I have 11 badges. I’m currently working on Misty’s gym, though I had to get some help from a walkthrough to figure out where to go. Silly golden bridge!
Very nice! DSi, or what? I tried to talk my little bro into getting SoulSilver, but he had to buy LoZ Wind Waker for our Wii, and he can’t save the game because he didn’t buy a memory card. Yes. Anyway, I-Man, I have the LBP demo (fuuuun) but, as I said, am broke.
Forgot two PS3 games:
Assassin’s Creed 2
COD: Modern Warfare
Nope. Original. I got it when I saw a Nintendogs commercial and thought “I HAVE to have that!” It was my first game console.
Like, THE original? The bulky one that you can drop ten times on cement and it won’t break? The only thing I didn’t like about it was the brightness! Forgot another PS3 game: Grand Theft Auto IV. I had more than I thought. Anyway, I sold my DS Lite to buy….what was it….Modern Warfare 2. Yeah, I sold that for $40.00, and, with two Edge cards, only paid $2.00 cash in actual paper tender. Well, I’m ending this because typing on an iPod touch is REALLY annoying. Out.
Yeah the original. It’s gray because the blue one was too dark blue for me.
My neighbor has a DS lite and a DSi and we usually play pokemon or something together. She was listing all the ways hers were better than mine…
(neighbor) They’ve got bigger screens…
(me) Uh huh.
They’ve got brighter screens…
Yup.
The DSi’s got TWO cameras! TWO!
I know! Really cool!
Then we turned the volume all the way up on our systems because that’s how we play.
I’m gonna take on the 8th gym leader! Wish me luck!
Wait a second…
…What?
…My DS is louder.
And it’s true! The original DS is louder than both the DS lite and the DSi. I have something over all of you!!! BUAHAHA!!!
It’s kind of strange how I never noticed that before.
The Google logo is PAC-MAN today.
AND YOU CAN PLAY IT!!!!! ZOMG!!!!!!! I only made it to strawberry. I shall have to play it some more later….
I made it to apple. I just adore Google and all of its Googlyness.
Does apple come after orange? Because I made it to the second orange upon replaying.
Yes. I had (by the end) one strawberry, two oranges (strange, I’ve always seen them as peaches) and one apple. A RED apple! How dare they?
It’s the first video game I’ve ever really attempted to play and not given up on within half a minute! I got to strawberry while not really knowing what the object of the game was! Then my parents explained the point, which kind of killed it. Oh well.
I love the Google version because the arrow keys are so much easier than a joystick
I think I made it to the second apple on my 2nd or 3rd try.
OK, since nobody answered this question on the last thread, I’m going to try again:
Should I get Metroid Prime Trilogy for Wii? I’ve never really been a fan of shoot-the-crap-out-of-everything shooters (the only one I liked at all was Halo 3), but I liked what I played of the original NES Metroid, I like good science-fiction (particularly strange alien life forms and engrossing plots), and I like adventure/re-traversal games like the Zelda series.
IGN just gave SMG2 10/10! I know you don’t entirely trust them, I-Man, but I have immense respect for their awesome editors. Especially Craig Harris, who reviewed the game. He called it the best Wii game ever made, and it sure looks like it. I WANNA WII!!! WAAH!
Eh… there’s only a few of their reviews I distrust. In any case, SMG2 looks awesome, I can definitely understand why they gave it a 10/10, and I can’t wait to pick up a copy when I get the chance
A few meaning Sonic Unleashed.
“A few” as in “the reviewer kind of does and says some stupid things”, so yes, the PS3/360 version of Sonic Unleashed would fall into that category.
Yeah, there’s a reason why I’ve never heard about the guy who reviewed those before. Still, CRAIG HARRIS FTW!
OK, I need a TV and a Wii NOW. GameSpot just gave it a 10 too.
So did Edge and GamesRadar. I think the lowest score it’s gotten is a 9.25.
Personally, I’m starting to think it doesn’t quite look like a 10/10 game. Maybe a 9.7 like the original. But what do I care? – it’s still awesome, it’s still Mario, I’m still gonna get it
I should get it just because I don’t have the original.
Personally, I would say get the original first. The second one looks great, but it’s probably not as mind-shattering as the first one was.
I just got a game called Portal. I love it!
GLADOS PWNS!
No! GLaDOS is Mr. Joe!
Uh, how?
Do not talk to Piggy! He is on my list of people not to talk to.
Man, I could do this GLaDOS impression all day…
I hate smileys!
I’ve heard it’s great and from what I’ve seen from videos, it looks great. Gotta pick it up sometime soon… although I guess it can wait for Metroid Prime Trilogy, since the former is still in production.
ZEH CAKE IS A LIE!
This was a triumph…
I assume you used Steam’s free-for-two-weeks thing?
I’m making a note here – HUGE SUCCESS.
MINE ISN’T WORKING!! My stupid crappy Vista isn’t compatible with my sucky old video card – the Intel vidchip is TOO ADVANCED! I need help, does anyone know to to force it to start? I could always download Stem on my Mac…
It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction…
Speaking of which, I have “Still Alive” on Rockband 2. Very hard to sing.
That was a joke – haha, fat chance.
Thank god cake. Portal is finally working.
Don’t forget that…THE CAKE IS A LIE! Speaking of which, go read my latest Cleverbot conversation. Trust me, it’s hilarious.
“Use the force of…ebfjrehfwlblwbwlbf fling yourself.”
(After you’ve momentum jumped) “Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee….”
Please assume the party pickup position. Your party representative will be along shortly to pick you up for your party.
i <3 companion cubes.
Eeew, no I don't.
The Enrichment Center wishes to remind you that the Companion Cube is an inanimate object and cannot talk. If the Companion Cube does talk, The Enrichment Center advises you to disregard its advice.
You should have turned left before. It’s funny, actually, when you think about it. Some day we’ll remember this and laugh – and laugh – and laugh.
As part of a required test protocol, we will stop enhancing the truth in 3, 2, on-
Who’s going to make the cake when I’m gone? You? Look, you’re wasting your time. And believe me – you don’t have a whole lot left to waste.
Gah. I have to wait until the weekend to get Portal.
*is listening to Still Alive*
You just keep on trying
Until you run out of cake
And the Science gets done
And you make a neat gun
For the people who are still alive
You do realize it’s not free anymore, yes?
Sadly.
You should listen to it at double speed, it’s pretty sweet…
Seriously, you MUST read my latest Cleverbot conversation. That thread is in need of some serious revival, anyway.
*goes and reads it*
Mario Galaxy 2 is the top ranked game, above Ocarina…
Sweet.
You know, there’s something I don’t get… I saw a review of Galaxy 2 where the person said that they loved the original Galaxy, and despite the fact that this one is more of the same, they said they hated it and gave it 1/5 stars. How does that make any sense?
“Please note that we have added a consequence for failure. Any contact with the chamber floor will result in an unsatisfactory mark on your official testing record. Followed by death. Good luck!”
[10] “Hello again, to reiterate- -previous- -momentum.”
“Spectacular. You appear to understand how a portal affects forward momentum, or to be more precise, how it does not.”
“Momentum; A function of mass and velocity; is conserved between portals. In layman’s terms: Speedy-thing goes in, Speedy-thing comes out.”
[11] “The Enrichment Center promises to always provide safe testing environments. In dangerous testing environments, the Enrichment Center promises to always provide useful advice. For instance, the floor here will kill you. Try to avoid it.”
[If you manage to get stuck in this level] “Through no fault of the enrichment center, you have managed to trap yourself in this room. An escape hatch will open in three, two, one…”
“The device has been modified so that it can now manufacture two linked portals at once. As part of an optional test protocol, we are pleased to present an amusing fact. The device is now more valuable than the organs and combined incomes of everyone in {SUBJECT HOMETOWN HERE}”
[12] “-fling yourself- -fling into s-”
“Weeeee-”
Testing out my new gravatar…
Like it, I-Man?
Yeah, but I think I would have liked it more if it involved Roxas and Xion making out in some way *drops dead laughing*
Yes, but that would have to be rated PG by gravatar.
looks nice
i am new and have no idea how you did that though
Beetles and I beat Portal!
Thank you for assuming the Party Escort Submission Position.
Pokemon Black and White cover pokemon have been revealed! Go to the official US site for pictures.
I have to say, they look kind of weird. But that’s OK. I’ve noticed that ledgendaries have been becoming more and more complicated over the generations. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I would like them to be simpler.
Oh, and according to bulbapedia there are now 500 official pokemon. That’s a milestone.
Thomas – we use a website called Gravatar.com (Globally Recocnized Avatar.). All you do is go there, create an account, Google an image you want and put in in! Very simple, Gravatar will walk you through the process.
I got a trophy for making the Party Escort Submission Position Decision. What a fraking mouthfull.
Uh….who making out?
Pokemon Black and White…..? Didn’t they JUST release SoulSilver and HeartGold?
HG/SS were the remakes of Generation II, so they weren’t entirely new games. Black and White are Generation V, so there’ll be a whole new region, new characters, and probably about a hundred new pokemon.
Roxas and Xion, you know…? From Kingdom Hearts, in the game wher- oh, never mind.
I LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE Portal.
*gives cake to everyone*
Except I need help getting the cube on the last level. When at the beginning, she says “You will be baked, and then there will be cake”. Please?
I thought the last level was the one where she said, “blah blah blah require both hands to be empty before any cake-*glitch*-cake.”
Yeah, I just realized that. I still need help with the part with the platforms and the pit.
Here’s the strategy I saw from a video:
As soon as the energy pellet activates the switch, step on the moving platform, kneel down, create a portal over the immobile platform, create a portal in the wall next to you and step into it, then create another portal into the switch alcove. Hit the switch, then make a portal in the wall before it closes and use this portal (plus the original one that got you into the alcove) to get onto the platform past the door. When you reach the pellet hitting the walls, use one of your portals to get it to the one behind the aforementioned door, then quickly place that other portal in the hallway so the pellet is stuck. Finally, when you reach the wall that partially covers the path, create a portal on the wall beyond it, create a portal on the blocking wall, and leap through that portal to land on the platform as it slides under.
Of course, if you’re stuck at the fire pit part, I think you just need to create a portal in the safe zone (forward and above you), then create a portal on the wall and jump into it.
Yeah, I got past it. I’m only stuck at the bit where you’ve left the test, and after some exploration, you fall into a pit where doors open up, and turrets come out. I’ve disabled the turrets, how do I get out?
I think this is how you get past that part.
You go into one of the alcoves that a turret was in, where a claw is reaching down from the ceiling and there is an graffiti arrow. Press E and the claw retracts. If you look through the hole in the ceiling from a certain angle, there is one spot where you can shoot a portal. Shoot the other portal somewhere accessible to get to the next part.
Thanks! *hugs*
And the bit where you’ve already passed the first rocket launcher, and there’s the sparkle arrow saying “Over here” pointing to a small ventilation shaft leading to another bit? The ventilation shaft is too high for you to jump, but there’s a sparkle arrow in it, pointing through it?
Oh, that pit? Whoops, guess my advice was for the wrong section… but at least you know how to solve the last real puzzle now.
And I think you’re supposed to shoot a portal into that shaft, don’t remember what to do after that…
Tried that.
I think you need to utilize a few 45-degree-angle walls sticking out from the larger walls – just get into a alcove that lets you shoot at the lowest one, use momentum to shoot yourself out of that one and get a portal on the next highest one, and then repeat until you use the last one to get on a catwalk near the ceiling. Also, fair warning: you’re almost at the end of the game, so-
…man, I do too much pre-purchase “research” for some games sometimes
Is there Portal for Wii? If so, how much does it cost? It sounds really cool. XD
Sadly, no. That would have been great to use the remote as a portal gun, but no.
Oh, man, a Portal Wii port (pun intended) would be awesome!
NO NO NO. Enc, here’s what you do:
Step 1:
When you’re in the room with the vent:
Place an orange portal below the Weighted Storage Cube Delivery System, aka the pneumatic tube above you. Make sure you place it under the GLASS.
Step 2: Go back into the room with the rocket turret, by backtracking through the hallways. Now, as you’ve seen, the rocket turret can break glass, so place a blue portal on the wall behind you. Stand right in front of the blue portal and wait for the turret to lock on to you. When it does, move away from the wall. The rocket should go through the blue portal on the wall, exit through the orange portal you placed on the floor, and break the WSCDS. A weighted cube will fly out into the turret room, grab it and exit through the blue portal.
Step 3: Shoot both portals anywhere to prevent the turret from shooting you through the portals.
Step 4: Drop the cube under the vent, jump up on it and into the vent. I TOOK MY CUBE WITH ME. There are tons of turret buddies in the next room, and it helps block bullets. You kinda have to get in the vent, look down, pick it up and drag it backwards through the vent. If there’s an obstacle, use portals and send it through the portal first.
Step 5: Consult c’est moi for help with the next room.
Good luck!
Hmm. I should probably ally myself non-conflictingly in Morrowind. Can I join more than one faction, house, or guild? Or just one of each?
THEY JUST RELEASED PHOENIX WRIGHT ON IPHONE FOR ONLY $5. And this is the FULL original game.
Since we’re talking about Portal so much, I might as well throw in one or two of the best Half-Life lines in the series.
“Rise and shine, Mister Freeman, rise and… shine. Not that I wish… to imply that you have been sleeping on… the job. No one is more deserving of a rest, and all the effort in the world would have gone to waste until… well… let’s just say your hour has come again. The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So wake up, Mister Freeman…wake up and… smell the ashes.”
“Time, Dr. Freeman? Is it really that time again? It seems as if you only just arrived. [G-Man walks out from the explosion] You’ve done a great deal in a small time…span. You’ve done so well, in fact, that I’ve received some interesting offers for your services. Ordinarily I wouldn’t contemplate them, but these are extraordinary times. Rather than offer you the illusion of free choice, I will take the liberty of choosing for you… if and when your time comes round again. [extracts Gordon from the Citadel] I do apologize for what must seem to you an arbitrary imposition, Dr. Freeman. I trust it will all make sense to you in the course of.. [pauses and smiles] well, I’m really not… at liberty to say. In the meantime… this is where I get off.”
G-Man. Gotta love ‘im.
Morrowind? I have Oblivion.
Stats:
Arch-Mage
Champion of the Arena
Silencer of the Dark Brotherhood
And some other stuff, something with the Thieve’s Guild, fighters guild, blablabla.
Level 3, just started a new file. I’ve also been more focused on leveling up and roleplaying before doing the main story, I love the world of Cyrodiil before all the Oblivion gates open. PS3’s E3 demos sent the 360 crying home to Bill Gates.
Well. I can’t play DW City of the Daleks, or any of the other 3, because my graphics card is 8 years old and only has Pixel Shader 1.4, where 2.0 is required. Humph. Apparantly there is a way to upgrade to 2.0 without getting a new graphics card… is this true?
Ooh, ouch. Probably not – what kind of computer are you using, and with what operating sys/graphics card?
Well, I just got MP Trilogy and played it for about an hour at my cousin’s house. I didn’t get a chance to play much of the single-player, but the multi-player is an absolute riot, even if one of the stages has an incredibly powerful, incredibly cheap turret in it
Eh, the multiplayer isn’t that good with only two people. And shame on you! Go in order of the trilogy! Weapons spoilers abound in the multiplayer. I’m replaying Prime 1 aiming for 100%, and the nice thing is it retains your scans from the previous game. The item quest is more difficult, however.
Hm, interesting. All we did in multiplayer was two people (me and one of my cousins) and we loved it – but maybe that was because we were still getting used to the controls.
About “go in order of the trilogy” – hey, I was at my cousins’ house, it had a multi-player mode, what do you think we’re going to want to do? Besides, I know from the little bit of research I had done on Trilogy that Echoes has a huge light/dark theme, so I kind of expected one light weapon, one dark, and one something else.
Anyways, after playing the first for maybe half an hour, I’ve determined that Trilogy in general is one of my favorite Wii games The notion of trying to collect 100% items in such large worlds is kind of daunting, though
NINTENDO’S E3 WAS TODAY! Some highlights:
New Zelda is called Skyward Sword. It will indeed use the MotionPlus.
Wii Party is basically Mario Party.
The 3DS is the official name for the console.
It also has: 3D camera, analog stick, motion sensing, 3D movies, Kid Icarus (!), and Metal Gear Solid.
W00T!
Yeaaaah! Nintendo wins E3!
Legend of Zelda : Skyward Sword!
Kirby’s Epic Yarn!
Metroid Other M!
Mario Sports Mix!
Donkey Kong Country Returns!
3DS: Kid Icarus! Star Fox!
Other cool stuff!
I have to get Zelda, Kirby and Metroid. Sqeee.
I’m pretty happy about the new scribblenauts game. Adjectives! Yes!
*too busy fanboyishly squealing about Golden Sun: Dark Dawn to do anything else*
Also, I know I said I’m trying to save up money for a PS3 and Little Big Planet… but that’s going to have to wait until next year or until I get a job. NEED A 3DS.
ME TOO.
Anyone else LOVE Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box?
Oooh! I was just browsing Google and I found an article saying that there will be a Plants vs. Zombies 2! Almost as good as Portal 2!
And when I go browse some more, I find something saying:
VALVE IS MAKING PORTAL FOR THE WII!
*excited*
And more Black and White info for me
Where did you find that? If it’s true, *explodes from happiness*
Just googles it. As far as I can tell, that’s false.
Maybe. But the only “it’s not coming to Wii” reports I can find are almost 3 years old, so maybe there’s a chance they’re doing it.
40 and 40.1 – Portal for the wii?!? PLANTS V.S. ZOMBIES 2?!?! I am going to explode from excitement. Can’t wait for Portal 2, by the way!
I found the awesomly awesome Steam game Eversion a while ago. I saw the add and didn’t want to get it because I thought it looked like a super-cute version of Super Mario, but my friend told me about how it started cute then got creepier and creepier and it gave someone nightmares. Well, when he said that I just had to get it, and I’m so glad I did. I will describe the last two levels as vaguely demonic, and by the third-to-last world, I could swear the game was based of a child’s nightmare. The kind that starts off happy, and gets worse and worse.
I don’t remember where I found the report, but there was an interview of someone at Valve and they said they had a “Wii game test kit” and were working on Portal for the Wii.
Just finished Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. AWESOME game, would definitely recommend it.
I got Pokemon SoulSilver for my birthday. It’s awesome. I have beaten the Violet, Azalea, and Goldenrod gym leaders so far, and I’m now in the Olivine Lighthouse. The Pokemon in my party are:
Lv. 24 Gyarados (“Omen”), knows Dragon Rage, Tackle, Bite, and Surf
Lv. 21 Quilava (“Cindro”) (Starter Pokemon), knows Fire Blast,
Flame Wheel, Quick Attack, and Ember
Lv. 20 Geodude, knows Selfdestruct, Magnitude, Rock Throw, and Rock Tomb
Lv. 20 Flaaffy, knows Cotton Spore, Thunder, ThunderShock, and Thunder Wave
Lv. 13 Hoothoot (“Soren”), knows Roost, Uproar, Peck, and Hypnosis
Lv. 14 Togepi (“Egbert”), knows Sweet Kiss, Charm, Extrasensory, and Metronome
Nice. I got stuck in Victory Road…but just finished Professor Layton (the second one)! I cried at the end…
I bought a very old game for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP. It’s Pokemon: Special Pikachu Version. It’s quite old, and I’ve already beaten it twice since Monday. Would recommend it most definitely for anyone with the SP. Though, I’ve found that most people don’t.
Stop making me feel old. I got that when it first came out.
Seriously? You bought it when it came out? That’s amazing. It’s an awesome game. I’m sorry for making you feel old, Piggy.
That would be Yellow, wouldn’t it?
Yep.
I have an SP! Well, I gave it to my sister, but I still occasionally play Pokémon Red on it.
OH OH OH! I have that! Or, my brother does. Is it the Game Boy one? I have that one… And some Mario World game. My SP broke though, along with my Game Boy color, so I can’t play it; they don’t work with the DS.
And I had an awesome Playstation, too, but mother dear sold it with all the games without my permission to some kid.
I accidentally knocked my DS onto the floor this morning! It still works perfectly, but the hinge with the charger light broke off, and although my brother and I fixed it, it now has tape on it and it’s hard to press the R button.
I’m sorry. That’s happened to me before. My ex-little step brother thought it would be funny to hide my DS from me, but then he accidently the drops it in the kitchen. On the hard linoleum. I came home from Vacation, and it was just sitting on my bedside table. Only hanging on my the wire. That’s the only thing keeping the top half joined to the bottom half. You have to support the top half for the screen to even work. I’m just glad everything works right, but I’m really sorry your R button doesn’t work.
I tripped over my DS’s power cord about a year ago and bent some metal on the place you plug it in (on the DS). Some plastic also fell off the plug (that goes into the DS, not the wall). I was too freaked out about electrocution to charge it for about a week, but it still worked/s. I have to plug it in a little sideways, though! Long story!
Ha ha ha. I have the original silver DS. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped that thing, even on concrete. Still works.
REVIVE, THREAD! REVIVE! REEEVIIIVE!!!!!!
Has anyone played Mardek 3? There was some discussion about Mardek 2 on the original thread, I believe, but finally, after three years, the third game has come out! It’s even longer than the second one! It’s kind of intimidating. I’m a third of the way through, and I’ve been playing it every day for a week! –> I should probably go do something outside…
Yes. I am taking a break for a while in the Water Temple.
I’m not much of a Sonic fan, but for some reason, I can’t wait for Sonic Colors
Also, probably going to get Portal in a few days once I get home, yay!
I love Sonic! Although his recent adventures haven’t been so hot, the originals are (if possible) probably better than Mario in my opinion.
Has anyone played Final Fantasy X? IT IS SO AWESOME!!!! My aeons are so powerful… sigh… Alas, not my charactars. Oh well, will just have to level up before I fight Sin. Sadly, I am borrowing a friend’s game to play it, and she has it this week. *whimpers* Oh well, at least my aeons are more powerful than hers! *cheers up* (My friend is waaaay better than me at this game, which irritates me. At least I have my aeons! For now…) (She is replaying the game.) My Anima does 99 999 with her overdrive!!! (If you do not/have not play/played FFX, and have no idea what I’m talking about, I apologize most sincerely.
OK, this question is probably better for the professionals, but all the computer shops I know close at 6, so I guess I’ll try my question here:
I want to get Portal. There are three computer versions that I know of – the Orange Box for PC, the standalone version of Portal for PC, and the standalone version for Mac – but Orange Box is the only one nearby stores seem to have. We have a normal MacBook and a MacBook Pro running on an iMac display with version 2.0.1 of VMWare Fusion available to put on any of them. Do I have the necessary graphical capabilities (DirectX8-compatible video card required, DX9-compatible v. card recommended) to run Portal?
The MacBook Pro probably could. I would also get The Orange Box rather than the standalone game, because then you get 5 games for the price of 2.
I suggest Steam. Everything’s done over the interwebs. Portal is available for Mac and is twenty dollars. The whole Orange Box for Mac is available for thirty. It doesn’t really matter too much what video card you have. You can thank me later.
YESSSSS!!!! Beat FFX!!! ….sorry, I just had to say that. It was so easy!! Anima just kept attacking…………
51.1 and .2 – turns out my MacBook is too old of a version to play it, and my dad wouldn’t really want me downloading Steam and everything on his, but thanks anyway.
Luckily, my mom was gracious enough to let me put it on hers, and it’s a blast The graphics and performance aren’t quite superb and it’s slightly alarming how fast I’m going through the levels, but it’s loads of funny fun all the same.
Did you get the standalone game or The Orange Box?
I got the orange box, but it wouldn’t work on my MacBook (PC version on VMWareFusion or the Mac version) since it’s ridiculously old. So I had to put it on my mom’s “work” laptop (I use quotations because she never takes it to work…).
Also, for the record, I really hate test chamber 18
It took me forever to get through 18.
I-only-have-2-more-days-until I can finally play Okami!
Since there’s nothing better for me to do (um, well, there is that thing known as sleeping, but I’m not especially tired currently) I shall create a potentially longwinded post about Pokemon. The tape of the repair job begain to come off, and my brother’s and mine attempts to rerepair my ds didn’t succeed, so now I’ve decided to just save for a new one. It’s kinda disappointing, since I wasn’t planning to get a new one for a while (I was wondering about maybe getting the 3DS but that’s all) and I got a good seconhand deal on it. But I guess maybe that’s a good thing. So meanwhile I’ve been experienceing pokemon via other media, such as fansites, anime, spriting (which is very fun especially as I want to be a graphic designer) andmy new region Soku, which is still in early stages of development. I’m working on some basic geography (like the real regions it’s based on a real region of japan. which I can’t remember how to spell) and the starters. So far with the starters I’ve decided only on thecwater one for certain- Platyquat, a blue, platypus like creature. It’s next form I was thinking of calling Aquapus, but now I think that’s too much like “octopus.” the final form is Anatinor, referencing the platypus’ scientific name, Ornithorrhynchus anatinus. As for the anime, I have so far enjoyed it; I’m not quite sure why, since it’s rather lame and every episode has the same plot.. I am mow considering being Misty for Halloween, but that might be kinda cold.
My favorite pokemon are Quilava, Togetic, Gyarados, and MissingNo. Cyndaquil was my starter in SoulSilver, and I’m now attached to that Poke. Togetic is another companion, and it was from that mysterious egg. Gyarados (woah autocorrect suggested that as I typed.. Prolly just cuz I used it earlier tho…*rambles*) is pretty much just awsome. I have both a normal and shiny one. And, ah, Missingno. I don’t actually own any game it appears in, but was introduced to it’s mysteriousness via Bulbapedia’s “Random Page” button. It gets you a buncha your sixth item, is somewhat Wung-like, and… Yeah.
Sorry for the proliferation of spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and assorted grammatical errors that no doubt lurk in this post. *pays out choklit* It’s late and I am using my iPod touch.

Has anybody here played Steambot Chronicles? It looks interesting, but it’s on PS2. Along with multiple Kingdom Hearts games
KINGDOM HEARTS IS AMAZING!!! …Not that I’m any good at it, of course… *feels depressed*
I played KH1 years ago and loved it, but I’m not sure what I’d think of it now. Probably the same.
My friend won’t stop talking about Kingdom Hearts… She wants me to play it, but I’m totally inept at video games, and I have better things to do with my time, like put off homework to last minute and watch Firefly on the internet.
Actually, the two KH games are pretty easy. They’re very easy to get into.
I just finished the first KH a few weeks ago…
Probably won’t play the second. I’m trying not to play video games.
PLAY THE SECOND ONE. It has to be my favorite game of all time. Seriously, it’ll be worth it.
SFTDP
Question for peoples: I really want to get Starcraft 1 and Starcraft 2 sometime, but I’ve heard complaints about region-locking and a lack of LAN for online play and a shoddy anti-piracy thing and an “incomplete” story from Amazon reviews on the latter (and yes, I know people on Amazon tend to be incredibly whiny and nitpicking about silly things). Has anyone here who has played SC2 found any similar/identical problems that actually made the game itself seem worse?
i haven’t played SC2 yet but i have a lot of friends who have (both the beta and the official version) and they all seemed to really enjoy it. one friend actually specifically mentioned that the storyline was really good. i don’t know about online play, i’ve only ever done single-player on the first one.
*squee* Can’t wait for Starfox 64 3D
Update for Pokemon HeartGold:
I’m currently training an all-shiny team to defeat Red again.
NINETAILS/NINETAILS (F) lvl. 77
Zepha/STARAPTOR (F) lvl. 45
Nightmare/RAPIDASH (F) lvl. 44
METAGROSS/METAGROSS (?) lvl. 100
MEGANIUM/MEGANIUM (F) lvl. 100
NIDORAN(m)/NIDORAN(m) (M) lvl. 12
I just need to train up Zepha, Nightmare, and Nidoran(M) and then I’ll be all set.
I can know officially play Still Alive on my guitar! This was a triumph!
Yay! Have ordered Pokémon Red! *is weird*
DARK DAWN HAS A US RELEASE DATE ON NOVEMBER 29 WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sorry about that, but I’ve been really really giddy lately
From muselover:
Thanks!
asdfghjkl; That’s full of win.
I knew I would hear it from you first, since you’re one of the only Pokémon fans on the blog. Thank you very much!
Note: Swampert is actually my favorite Pokémon, but Magikarp simply HAD to win. There is always a first time.
It would’ve been even funnier if you made the Magikarp evolve and then eat Swampert. I made a pokemon battle on Scratch similar to this. Here you go!
…I can’t find it. Yay. But it was Tyranitar vs. Igglybuff, and Igglybuff won with Sweet Kiss.
I wanted to send out a Ditto that turns into a Magikarp, but shape Tweens don’t work with images.
65, 65.1 – That’s pretty good
Does anyone else have an urge to get Star Wars: The Old Republic after seeing a Jedi with a double-bladed lightsaber?
FFX-2 is being really annoying. I hate it when they lock areas so you can’t go back. I really need Phoenix Downs. The boss I have to fight is so hard, and I really need Phoenix downs. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
SPOILER SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER
(Yes, that was necessary: read at your own risk of being spoiled.)
Black and White are amazing (from the reports) although half the sites have been contacted by Nintendo and have ad to take images down due to copyright infringement. Epic example of how these games are completely different than all the others:
After beating the E4, you find the Champion arguing with N (who is affiliated with Team Plasma). N makes a gigantic ancient building (which was his home as a child) come out of the ground and attach itself to the league. Your rivals appear and tell you to go in and stop him. When inside you are ambushed by the Team Plasma “sages” (the executives) but the Gym Leaders appear and take them on for you. You then run into the goddesses of love and beauty, who heal your pokemon. In the next rooms, you see more Team Plasma people who say N is farther. In the penultimate room, you see N’s second in command who says he thinks N is going too far. Once you are in the last room N summons Zekrom/Reshiram (depending on version), but the other one appears and lets you catch it. N then heals your pokemon and battles you with the Zekrom/Reshiram and his other pokemon (there is a PC in another room so you can leave room to have the Reshiram/Zekrom you catch in your party), and then you have to battle his second in command without stopping to even heal. So you end up having to beat twice the people you do in other games.
Oh, and apparently Isshu has 11 Gym Leaders, but you only battle the first eight to get to the E4.
OH MY FREAKING CAKE!!!! Sorry. Wow. Wow! Eleven Gym Leaders? Are you sure? This game is very different than the other Pokemon games!
Yes, it is different. And sorry, you only battle eight. The first gym has three leaders, each with a different elemental monkey (there are three monkeys, water, fire, and grass) but you only battle the one with a type advantage on your starter, and there are two leaders for the last gym (nobody is certain what determines who you battle).
Lol…I’m going to enjoy beating up the elemental monkey. They annoy the crap outta me.
Also, since there’s two gym leaders, which you battle may depend on which version you have?
I don’t think so. Some people have both versions and they didn’t report the Gym Leader being different between the games.
It has been confirmed that you are right.
Yay! I knew it!
Black and White look amazing, with a better storyline than the other games. I also really like how there are cutscenes with drawings of people instead of just the sprites. And the 3D is absolutely stunning. Now we only have to wait until spring!
I really enjoyed Sapphire’s storyline. Unfortunately I sold my DS to buy MW2…so I may buy a 3DS at some point.
Piggy? I need a little help force-starting Portal through Steam – I hit play, the screen goes black for a few seconds and then I receive a “hl2.exe has stopped working” error message. This is likely because Half-Life 2 and Portal run off the same engine. Is there a way to insert a startup command to force it to start? I have run it (and beat it) before. I am using a Intel Pentium Dual-Core and Vista Home Basic.
Also, when attempting to play Halo: Combat Evolved I get a message telling me to go stuff my debugger (we don’t have one) into the trash bin.
Crappy, crappy vista.
Black and White aren’t for 3DS, they are for normal DS.
Actually, acording to serebii.net, there is a feature on Black & White called the Live Caster exclusively for DSi and 3DS.
Yes, but Black and White aren’t designed specifically for the 3DS. Also, the Live Caster can also be used in-game and shows the pictures of you and other characters.
You can still use DS games on 3DS.
I know. I meant that BW aren’t specifically for the 3DS, but they can be played on it.
In a podcast I listen to, however, they predicted that the third Generation V game would be a 3DS game, similar to what they did with Crystal.
Does the 3DS have an official release date yet?
There was a leak saying it would go on sale in Japan on November 11th.
From a Twitter account that has now been entirely deleted. Either this is Nintendo shutting the guy up, or the guy himself trying to cover his tracks.
Yes, from a now-deleted Twitter account of a Nintendo employee.
What the…I DIDN’T HEAR ABOUT THAT! Darn Bulbagarden…
It was on Bulbagarden.
I thought it just said that he was an “accessory developer” or something like that.
What is Black & White versions release date? I preordered it and forgot the release date.
According to Bulbagarden it is spring 2011.
Yay! I caught Lugia! YAY!YAYAYAYAY!
I have changed my gravatar for the occasion.
What version are you playing?
SoulSilver.
Now I’m working on the roaming legendaries (which I ought to have done ages ago). I have them both down to 1 HP with False Swipe, and I’m now raising a Golbat to learn Mean Look to trap them with. Only 4 more levels…
You could also use a Trapinch/Wobbufett if you have them.
I have HeartGold (and SoulSilver, but I still haven’t started it), but then I lost my game just before I could beat Red so I’m playing through another copy.
I just beat that ANNOYING BOSS!!! With little phoenix downs!!! I am feeling proud of myself. Has anyone here every played FFX, FFX-2, FFXII, Star Ocean, Fable, or Radiata Stories?
Should I get Starcraft: Battle Chest or Professor Layton and the Curious Village for fall break?
The Starcraft thing. Unless you want your head to asplode from the puzzles. Seriously, Prof. L is MEAN!
Is it really that hard?
Anyways, I was planning to get BC anyways because even though Professor Layton looks fun, Starcraft looks equally fun and my nerd cred is in need of some serious bolstering.
Yes. Then again, I have the patience of a housefly.
Hey! I made it through the Diabolical Box! (Also, if you get any Layton game, GET THE UNWOUND FUTURE. You don’t need to have played through the other games to enjoy it, and it looks like it’s the best one yet.)
I GET SUPER SCRIBBLENAUTS ON THURSDAY! INCLUDING ADJECTIFIED HEADPHONES!
Oh my gooooood. /attempts to steal in advance/ You’ll have to say how it is!
I have also changed my avatar for the occasion.
It’s actually kind of funny. We went on a short vacation over the weekend (we had a 4-day weekend), and when we got back, we had a message from GameStop about the game comes in on Wednesday night. However, my dad heard it as Monday night, so I was screaming my head off…until my mom cut in and told us that it had actually said Monday. I was very sad.
“heard it as Monday night… it had actually said Monday”.
…lolwut?
*I-Man’s comment summons a big head for Maxwell*
I could have SWORN I typed Wednesday. Whoops.
I have just dicovered all the wonderful YouTube videos showing Black and White gameplay. Now I’m even more excited.
(My final team will be the Janovy, the electric eel, the Water/Ground frog, Wargle, Shandeera, and the Dark/Dragon hydra.)
STUPID. CAKING. PARENT. TEACHER. CONFERENCE.
My sister’s parent-teacher conference is the reason I can’t get Super Scribblenauts today. We needed to get home by 4:20, and our house is really far from GameStop. I have to get it TOMORROW. With all my luck, it’ll be sold out by then.
Super Scribblenauts is absolutely brilliant. The controls, the design, and nearly every other thing about the game are significantly improved from the original. I’ve done a ton of levels, and I don’t even think I’m halfway through yet. BUY THIS GAME NOW.
I WILL. Eventually. I have a $50 dollar bill leftover from Germany and I was saving it for B/W but I’ll try to get it for my birthday! I can’t wait to summon friendly velociraptors!
Don’t forget the video game characters! You know, the super heroic red plumber, the green brave adventurous boy with a master sword, the solid snake, etc.
Playing Portal.
It’s so deliciously creepy… but also very unnerving. The sentry bots absolutely terrify me. Every time I get hit, my knees turn to jelly. So scary….
Also, has anyone heard of Machinarium? It’s an adorable (and tricky) puzzle game, with cute robots! Who doesn’t love cute robots?!
I love portal. I’m getting portal 2 soon. Atlas and P-Body for the win!!!!
There’s this game on Steam called Eversion. It is awesome, and seems like someone took a little kids nightmare (the kind that starts out all happy and candy-colored but gets progressively freakier and freakier.) and turned it into a video game.
*SPOILER SPOILER REGULAR ENDING SPOILER SPOILER*
The storyline is that you are rescuing a princess from something that’s never really defined. But in the regular ending, you save the princess and then she eats you! It is officially my favorite non-musical video game ending.
Wait, have you seen the good ending? And just to clarify, THIS IS THE MOST DISTURBING VIDEO GAME IN THE HISTORY OF DISTURBING VIDEO GAMES. To see the full extent of the disturbing-ness, go to YouTube and watch DeceasedCrab’s playthrough. YOU WILL BE HAUNTED.
Agreed, most intensely terrifying and heart-pounding game ever. I’ve never been able to beat it.
Not too surprising, seeing as it was based off of an H.P. Lovecraft quote.
Whoever made this game is a genius. I heartily approve.
Disturbing? That’s why I love it! I actually wasn’t going to get it because I just glanced at the advertisement and it just looked like a cute-ified version of Super Mario, but then my friend told me about how it gets freakier and freakier to the point that he got NIGHTMARES for an entire week. So of course I had to get it. I think that the review I saw that sums it up best is “The razor blade in the candied apple.” (I can’t remember who said that.)
No I have not reached the “good” ending yet. The secret world is so tricky! Please tell me it’s as awesome as the regular one, because the achievement for getting it is called “Happily Ever After” and I don’t like the sound of that.
Don’t worry, it’s even better. They do live happily ever after, but, well…I’ll leave that for you to find out.
Just got Starcraft Battlechest last night…
It.
Is.
Awesome. XD
I assume that means Brood War, and as I have been giving out starcraft challenges left and right (since I got the game, about 3 or so weeks ago), and nothing would honor me more then to extend the friendly hand of a video game duel to someone as high of quality in my mind as a MBer, what say you to said friendly game?
Maybe. I’m still trying to get used to everything in the campaigns.
Awesome! I look forward to it. I’m really nowhere near good, myself, and watching professional players can be… discouraging.
5TH Cell is coming out with a new game called Hybrid. It has ZE BEST TEASER TRAILER EVER. Check it out!
Lessee, here… Dark Dawn sells 46,000 copies in 3 days in Japan while a Pokemon game sells 68,000 copies in about 6 weeks…
I’m impressed
Woo! Going to pick up Black Ops in three hours!
Yes, I am aware this sounds like a facebook status.
YAHA! I sooo wish I had a TV at home so I could get an Xbox/PS3/Wii to play that game…
*hack hack cough* Aggh, there was so much secondhand smoke at the midnight release I thought I’d puke. But hey, it was worth it. The game is incredible. See, now, if you live in Connecticut, I could invite you over to play.
And the PS3 is $299.99. Someday, you should get one and I could friend you.
Again, I don’t have a TV at home. I would probably get a PS3 if I had one.
AAAAAHHHHHHHH!
Sorry, earlier I thought, “If I hear the words ‘Black Ops’ one more time today, I will scream.” So I wanted to keep that promise…
Black Ops.
And it is awesome. I take it you have an older brother or something, or is it just all over?
“The On Point Kings specialize in Black Ops [flying out of an explosion], Brown Ops [cuuting a deal with a store owner], …and the occaisional Beige Ops.[playing hopscotch]”
Halo reach is better.
Guess who’s become addicted to Morrowind? Yes, that Morrowind, the one that came out in 2002. So fun.
A friend loaned that to me once, but we didn’t have any computers that would run it… It looked fun, though.
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn comes out tomorrow
How is it?
I’m still reeling from euphoria at the fact that it’s finally here after seven years, but I think it’s great. The only main problem is that the battles are relatively easy for an RPG.
Well, that’s a pro for me. I love RPGs, but I don’t like hard battles.
My favorite kind of game is actually Action RPG. I’m not really sure why this is. Maybe it’s watching my dad play Diablo on our old iMac, maybe it’s the long hours playing Kingdom Hearts at my friend’s house, but for whatever reason, that’s my favorite type of game.
Wow. That second paragraph was long.
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. 11/11/11.
Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes.
WHAT.
PvZ DS will be out soon, and I managed to preorder it… *can’t wait*
By Azura, by Azura, by Azura!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-*SPLAT*-AAAAAAH
SKYRIM IN 11 MONTHS!
Skyrim is a rugged, ravaged place, the site of many past battles. The Nords believe that they were created here, on the mountain known as High Hrothgar. Settlers from Atmora made landfall here many times before claiming the region as their own. These spaced-out migrations often resulted in clashes with the Aldmer. “Out of this time also rose one of the most legendary of all Tamrielic figures, Ysgramor, from whom all Nordic kings are descended.” His clan expanded their territory, and it continued to expand and contract by winning and losing territories in Morrowind and High Rock. After quarrels from the rivalries of the Ysgramor clan however, Skyrim weakened and separated into multiple states during the War of Succession. Thenceforth it would only be united for brief periods. Skyrim engaged in multiple clashes with High Rock over its western Reach, a civil war involving The Wolf Queen of Solitude, an invasion of Cuhlecain’s Cyrodiil, and wars with Hammerfell and High Rock during the Imperial Simulacrum.
And Bethesda is building a whole new engine just for TES V! I’m glad to see I’m not the only one one here who is an avid Elder Scrolls fan…Piggy.
Let us hope and pray that they include a worthwhile multiplayer component. Something functional. Or not – I’d just be content with another epic storyline, and at least the option to become a Blade again. The Gray Fox should also reappear, but all the glitches shouldn’t.
Has anyone played the flash game K.O.L.M.?
When I started it, I thought “Hey, this is sort of like Metroid.”
Then I got 100% completion…
I’m so psychic!
Portal-style plot + Metroid-style gameplay = awesomeness in a webpage
It’s kind of disappointing how short and easy the game is, though. I definitely wouldn’t be able to beat the original NES Metroid in about 45 minutes with only 40 or 45 hits.
Revive, revive!
I just tried playing the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy text adventure game. Dear Kokopelli is it hard. I finally managed to get out of the house and now keep getting run over by the bulldozer. Will try again later.
Wait till you get to the Babel fish. One word: click.
Yeah. It’s hard.
I managed to get off of Earth, but beyond that I just lost track of what was going on, and got completely lost.
PvZ DS is out, woohoo. The images of the plants and zombies aren’t particularly good quality, because of the small screen, but for some reason they aren’t fully animated and only have a few frames.
OHMYMISSINGNO
I have an undocumented (As far as I know) irregularity of GameSharking Pokemon Red ON VIDEO! When you go into a trainer battle without any Pokemon (via the walk through walls code) your screen is supposed to flash gray and then the game restarts. But I went into battle and faced a glitchy Magikarp which on its turn suddenly became burnt with an insane amount of HP (the health bar wrapped around the screen and was in sections for some reason ) It fainted from its burn in one hit, and the fisherman sent out the EXACT SAME Magikarp again! I mean he still had 6 Pokemon! And it fainted again! And was sent out again! And was hurt by its burn! And then I got bored and closed the emulator! And whenever the zombie-karp fainted, my non-Pokemon kept gaining a boosted 814 experience points a bunch of times in a row and growing (or sometimes, shrinking) to random levels. When I did the same thing again, planning to use the appropriate code to steal the Magikarp, my game did the “normal” gray-screen-and-restart drill. Huh.
ohwaitnevermindthat’stheTMTRAINEReffectiforgotaboutthatbutstillineverheardofithappeningwhenyoufightwithoutpokemon
You use an emulator? Shame on you. I used the Mew glitch on my PERFECTLY RESPECTABLE Game Boy Advance. Although, I might have to send that testimony to some glitch hunter sites and see what they make of it. Do I have your permission?
Well, as you can see above, I realized that it was the TMTrainer effect. But it’s kind of odd that it happened instead of the screen flashing gray. So do what you want.
ZZAZZ is even more fun.
Missing. No is the glitch type pokemon. he will clone the 3rd item in your inventory, so put your masterball there. he is infinity level you can’t truly beat him.
Um, no. First, there are no genders in the first gen games. Second, there are actually 38 different types of Missingnos in gen I. Third, it is spelled Missingno. or MISSINGNO. Fourth, it clones the item in the sixth slot. Fifth, there are many other things that can be useful when cloned. Sixth, its level depends upon letters in the players name or the special stat of the pokemon the Mew glitch is used on, and can be up to level 184. Seventh, it is not invincible; actually pokemon over level 100 are usually weaker than pokemon at level 100. Eighth, it’s type is Bird/Normal. Ninth, it’s called the bag, not the inventory. So what is correct here? The words “pokemon” and “item”.
Jiminy. Calm down, Opti. Don’t attack people.
I just get kind of annoyed by Critical Research Failures.
I just get kind of annoyed by Critical Reasonableness Failures.
Thank you.
Has anyone else here heard anything/done anything with this Project M as a brawl revamp? I just downloaded it, and I’m quite pleased.
Battlefield 3 was just announced. So was Uncharted 3. I really like the puzzles and platforming in that game. I’m also looking forward to buying Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Amazing puzzles. Has there been any news about that new Zelda game for the Wii, with the extreme motion tracking?
BLACKWHITEBLACKWHITEBLACKWHITEYAY
Fun. Funfunfun. And hooray for battles with moving sprites and camera.

Heh heh. My little brother got it on the 6th, and it’s pretty awesome.
SOB WAIL CRY SNIFFLE
Does anyone here play Minecraft Beta? I may sound geeky (But hey, this is MuseBlog.) but I am obsessed with that game. P.S Watch out for CREEPERSSSSSSSSS!
Sssssuch a niccccce everythingsssss you have there….
(I don’t actually play it, just most of my friends do.)
Sssssuch a shame if anything were to… Happen to itsssss *boom*
Just recently started playing. Such an epic game. I just randomize my world seeds usually.
Yesssssssssss, I recently got Minecraft. I love it! Currently, I’m inside of a giant cavern, which I am making my home.
This is late, but I just started that game and I love it.
Have you found any world seeds you particularly like? I tend to get a lot of islands, which are annoying because you can’t build vast tunnel complexes in every direction without a few of them flooding. On the other hand, the world I’m in right now has a few floating islands, snow and ice, and one spectacular waterfall.
if you type 404, you get a world with gravel right next to you that if you mine you get a huge cave-in
Glacier is cool
Dunno many others. If anyone has a fast computer, we should start a MB server.
Problem is that would count as off-blog contact. The GAPAs were leery enough of NationStates.
Perhaps someone could make a server and exchange the IP at Kokons?

Mago Berry’s (usually shoved in back of mind) Conscience: I shall now cut off the insanity. *cutsoff*
to cut off your insanity you would have to cut off your head.
muselover cannot get B&W since he is traveling. He is not pleased.
Rosebud cannot get B&W since her DS is confiscated until her grades fulfill some sort of mystic requirement based on the alignment of the planets with the constellations. She is not pleased.
Would you guys say that B/W is a good game to start the series with? (And yes, I have NEVER played a real Pokemon game before)
Urg. I’m a purist, so I wouldn’t want anyone to start with anything other than the first generation. As in, Gameboy Color.
Er, just GameBoy. I guess I’ve always played them on the Color.
Completely agree with Piggy here- the original games are awesome.
I know the originals are probably the best, but I have two big reasons for wanting to try B/W first:
1) I don’t want to have to wade through 5 generations over a year to get current on all the 500-something Pokemon, I just want to jump right in and see them all at once.
2) I don’t know if there will be any Victini promotions after the one going on right now and I don’t want to find out the hard way.
Having said that, I’ll probably try one of the originals (or maybe a remake) once I’ve gotten into the series
You need to play them at least at some point. You need to know the history and the background of the series.
Why do you want Victini? Victini is an evil usurper who deserves to be sat upon by the REAL #000.
SFTDP, I agree with Piggy that playing them all would be best. The original games are awesome. Except the Golbat sprite from RB. Run far, far, away from the Golbat sprite.
*shrug* Same reason I would want any Pokemon once I start into the series: he’s in the Pokedex.
It. Victini is genderless/gender unown. (Yes, that was on purpose.)
And Victini isn’t even Bird type!
Missingno. and the other glitches aren’t number 000, actually. They all have index numbers over 151.
yellow is one of the best games in my opinion. (my Pikachu is lvl 87;))
I would personally say yes, due to the fact that whether you like B/W would be a pretty good gauge of whether you would like the series as a whole.
YES. Black and White take out a number of fairly annoying features and are in general awesome.
102-Yes. Graphics are amazing, storyline is fairly cool, and pokemon are boss looking.
I’m going to train a Super Deluxe Team for a sweep of the post-game E4 on Black. So far I have…
Swoobat, to counter Marshal
Mienshao, to counter Grimsley
—, to counter Caitlin
—, to counter Shauntai
Volcarona, to counter Alder
Stoutland, as fainting fodder to heal up everyone else while he takes attacks.
…of course, this is all in my imagination, as *heart*woo*heart* is still a Woobat, and Tigress the Mienshao is only level 50. Plume the Volcarona is level 60, though, so she’s a bit better. I’m open to suggestions.
For Caitlin, Houndoom? Unless Bronzong has Heatproof.
Also, Swoobat doesn’t have good offensive or defensive stats.
I bought Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney on iTunes today. Good game.
It’s on iTunes!? Why don’t I know this… I had it for my DS before becoming hopelessly stuck (although that was only on the first game). I really need to play my DS again. **nostalgia**
Well, guess what: I got lazy on Black and started over with Oshawott. My theme this time is female pokemon with masculine sounding names. So far, my character’s name is Lucifer, and she has…
Dewott, Riley, level 17
Shiny Patrat ( :D), Quinn, level 15
Over-training in the Dreamyard. I’m planning on picking up a Drilbur and a Woobat further up, then maybe a Scraggy later on.
OH MY GOD MY 3DS IS AMAZING AND IT HAS AUGMENTED REALITY GAMES AND WILL TAKE 3D VIDEO AND DID I MENTION IT’S AMAZING
That essentially summarizes my feelings right now.
PLUS YOU CAN GET THE WHITE KNUCKLES VIDEO ON IT
My favorite game series is halo. it is rated M but you are fighting Aliens not people and on multiplayer you are incased in cyborg armor. you are a spartan. read the books they are great. also see if you can get the Halo: Reach game. then check out forge world. Call of Duty can just go and cry to itself. Forge world is GIGANTIC!!!!!! it is the biggest multiplayer map in a disk with a campaign function. go cry now call of duty, go cry.
HaloManiac: Please, please, please use correct capitalisation…ehehe. MuseBlog is different from other blogs that way.
sorry sydney. XD (she is going to kill me for this).

Nuzlocke challenge on Black~
Arrow-male Snivy-level 8
Penny-female Lillipup-level 7
I *might* post some of the story I’m using to record my challenge.
Post!
Mmm…my resolve died.
halo will always beat call of duty, because bungie ( who made halo) have an army of flaming ninjas. if call of duty ever actually becomes a threat bungie will slingshot infinity ward into the sun and burn down the building with the ninjas. (bungie is planning on taking over the world, look at 7 steps of domination.)
But Infinity Ward has a BIGGER army of robo-ninjas. And Activision has an EVEN BIGGER one.
that may be so, but robo ninja’s will melt in contact with the sun. Plus Bungie has Ling-Lings head. Bungie also has the budget, bungie is part of Microsoft, meaning Bill Gates is backing them meaning MORE FLAMING NINJA”S COMING SOON in the meantime the spartans will hold you off.
SFTDP
“soap mctavish” HA! i’d like to see how he held up to COVENANT ASSAULT!!!! plus master chief is just so much more awesome AND halo multiplayer is much more diverse with games such as Infection, CTF, Race and also Forge Mode. I’ll start buying call of duty when A: it gets less needlessly dirty-mouthed and bloody and B: when it gets massive maps along with Forge mode for those maps.
On a different topic, Pie this if you want either of the Crysis games. Alcatraz FTW (when I say FTW it means “for the win” not the other acronym)!!!
Hey…this thread is about discussing, informing about, and occasionally debating video games. Not just for saying “OMG X GAME IS AWESOME AND X OTHER GAME SUCKS”. No hard feelings or anything, but if you just got on here to say how Halo is better than Call of Duty, no one is really listening.
My fiend sold me an old copy of Pokemon Red!
Good news: It works, and I also have a Gameboy Advance
Bad news: The save battery is dead, rendering saves useless
More good news: My dad said he’s take it down to where he works and get another battery!
Squee, retro!
“Retro”?
I’m caking old.
So am I.
I’m just fourteen, and I don’t consider pokemon red retro- It’s the only pokemon game I’ve ever played!
Maybe I’m just retro myself…
You have Red too? I have a Gameboy Advance SP and Blue, Red, and Silver for it. (Along with various other games. I also have games that are actually on Gameboy Advance cartriges, such as Mystery Dungeons: Red Rescue Team, but I didn’t list those, since you can play them on a DS.)
Too bad about the saves.
-112.1 It’s only “retro” because of the speed with which they add new games to the line. Don’t worry, you’re not old yet.
I used to have Pokemon Sapphire, but I gave it to a friend because I was planning on getting a DSi in the near-future.
I was so proud of myself on that game. I beat the E4 with only a level 54 Swampert, a level 51 Flygon (originally a Trapinch because I needed Dig, but it evolved and I didn’t stop it), and a level 50 Kyogre. Everyone else at my school seemed to have a lot of trouble.
“My fiend” That has to tie character development sheep for best typo.
She is actually my frienemy sometimes, so maybe my subconscious is trying to tell me something.
Don’t worry Piggy and Kai, you guys aren’t old. It’s only so retro because, like Sudo said, the new games come out so fast that Gameboy Advance is pretty much obsolete. The guy at the Gamestop actually didn’t thing Pokemon Red would play on a Gameboy Advance. Then again, he thought there were Japanese characters on a cartridge clearly marked. “Made in US”, so I think he’s not to be trusted…
Ehehe…glad my Gamestop people aren’t that oblivious. Yes, MY Gamestop people. THEY ARE MIIIIIINE!!!!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHA!!!!!!! Ha…ha. *cough* Um. What was I saying again?!…
So I just finished playing Portal for the first time.
And it was amazing.
Slightly disturbing in places, confusing, twisty, and difficult. Great concept, and fantastic gameplay. And Still Alive is probably one of the best songs I’ve heard recently.
Also, I just spent about fifteen minutes talking to my sister, trying to figure out GLaDos.
Yeah, my one complaint about Portal was that playing it made me a bit motion sick.
Still Alive is seriously caking awesome. I actually knew about it before I knew about Portal, because I’m a serious Jonathan Coulton fan. I found him, then the song, then the game.
I think GLaDos and HAL (2001) would get along famously. Or just expend energy trying to kill each other. Not sure which.
Portal was great, but I had to put it on my parent’s computer and it lagged a ton.
What do you think of Portal 2 so far?
Yeah, I played a free sample on a friend’s computer, which wasn’t bad as far as lagging, but it was annoying as far as controls.
Portal 2 looks really cool, and I’m looking forwards to multiplayer. My sister and I were playing through it together, so we had to swap out, and it’ll be quite nice to not have to do that any more.
That’s one of the things that looks really cool to me – the co-op campaign is different from the single-player, rather than just the single-player with another character tossed into the mix.
First of all, Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story is the best DS game ever.
Second of all, who would have thought that the first time I played a 3DS would be in a trailer in Frankfurt?
NOTE: This references Frankfurt, Germany. Not Kentucky.
SFTTP (does it matter if the thread is close to dead?)
Portal 2 is now the highest rated game of 2011. And the highest rated PC game of all time.
Wow.
It took 23 hours for me to download it from Steam.
PORTAL 2!
And GLaDOS is a potato.
And Wheatley’s cubots keep walking off the buttons at the worst times.
Looks like you’ve gotten farther than I have.
I’m stuck on the part where you’re in between gels- you’ve finished the Repulsion gel and now you need to get to the Propulsion gel. I can’t figure out how to momentum jump (I’m guessing that’s what you need to do?) onto the next part of the test. I’m in that place with the two sets of pipes and the glass wall between them.
SPOILER SPOILER GAME SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER GAME SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER GAME SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER GAME SPOILER SPOILER
SPACECORE FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wheatley: I don’t know what came over me
Spacecore: SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACEEEEEEEEE
wheatley: you know what I would say
Spacecore: IM IN SPAAAAAACEEEE
Wheatley: I would say im sorry
That may warrant a spoiler warning, as it partially reveals a major plot twist in the game. GAPAs?
Still Alive > Want You Gone > most video game songs with actual lyrics and/or singing.
Turret Aria > Want You Gone
There’s a mini turret chorus in Test Chamber 16 (Chapter 3). You can get to it by using the Thermal Discouragement Beam to kill the turret behind a grate right after the entrance elevator.
Yeah, Want You Gone is good, but it seems to try to imitate what made Still Alive so amazing. Also, Hikari>all those other songs you mentioned.
>:( Portal 2 is supposed to come with special co-op skins when preordered from Amazon. Guess where I preordered it. Guess what didn’t come.
the turret chorus is saying something like
Oh my darling dear
Why don’t you walk far away from here
yes, go far away from science
oh darling
oh my dear
No it isn’t. It’s some child themed thing in Italian.
That’s a translation.
MY DAD WILL GET ME PORTAL WHEN WE GET HOME!!! SQUEEEE!
Is Portal 2 avalible for Wii?
No. But it is available for computers with up-to-date operating systems.
Lolololololololollolololololololoolololololololololololoololololololololol
IM IN SPACE!
WOOHOO GO SPACECORE!!!!! (8D
SFTDP but another great game is Lost Planet 2. you will begin crying when you look at the category G akrid.
My sister just caught Mewtwo. At level 70. With yellow HP. In a Poké Ball.
I once caught a Moltres at at lvl 50 with a poke ball, but seroisly, any thoughts on the Category G?
I and Halomaniac seem to be the only people posting here. I’d just like to say that Want You Gone has really grown on me lately.
I know, however nothing can beat Still Alive
I AM HERE! I GOT POKEMON BLACK! I AM HAPPY! I WILL STOP TALKING IN ‘I’ SENTENCES! I MEAN–UH…oh, never mind…
I caught Moltres at level 40 with an Ultra Ball, and we know how WONDERFUL those are… -_-
And I caught Articuno with a Pokeball! On red HP, but hey, a POKEBALL!
And I reallyreallyreally want to get Kyurem! That thing PWNS! And it is AWESOMELY AWESOME! And I will quit being redundant and accuse someone of something!
Halomaniac: You told me to look up the akrids on Google. So I did. That night, I had a dream about one flying after me. Thanks a lot. *glare of DOOM*
did you know that in pokemon white if you go to the ferris wheel some time after you beat N there a girl (boy if you are a girl) will ask you for a battle and then then get ask you to go on the wheel with her/him. you cannot say no (I tried) and I am not sure where this goes.
No, if you go after beating Elesa you will see a person, different depending on the PC’s gender and the season, who you can refuse to battle and go on the ferris wheel, who you can battle once per day.
I just caught both Reshiram and Tornadus with Ultra Balls. I saved the Master Ball for Kyurem…hehehe….I shall DESTROYYYYYY…
For some reason I managed to catch Kyurem with my third Pokeball but cannot catch Tornadus no matter what I do, including using ten Quick Balls on the first turn of the times I encounter it, even though it’s paralyzed.
So I started over on Pokemon black. Again.
Current team is Alabaster the male Dewott, Lilliguard the female Watchhog, Precious the female Woobat, and Destroyer the male Venipede.
I. Hate. Lenora.
(Trying to keep this as vague as possible, since the GAPAs entirely and unapologetically zapped the post I made on this topic a while ago.)
I’ve been playing through the Portal 2 co-op campaign with a friend of mine. It’s a lot of fun, and we’re reasonably successful, though finding times to play is somewhat tricky. He finally got his microphone working today, which makes things a lot easier. It’s annoying to have to stop everything to type a message.
I’m also playing Portal 2 co-op with a friend. It’s fun, because he’s intelligent and can often think through puzzles that baffle me.
There are so many awesome things you can do with two sets of portals.
I’ve been playing single player, but I can’t wait to try out co-op.
It’s fun. My friend and I beat it earlier today.
Stupid…Gabite…won’t…evolve…fast enough!
Yes, I am still playing Platinum. I always wait for the third iteration to come out before I buy one of the newest Pokémon games. Plus, it’ll help me build my Generation V Pokédex much faster.
Things I like about Pokemon B/W:
1. Sprite animations! I was squeeing about this earlier, I think.
2. Your anime-like character doesn’t disappear after the first ten seconds of the game.
3. Strength rocks stay pushed over! I am so happy about that. I keep forgetting and bringing a useless HM slave, though.
4. Good plot.
There are some other things I like, but I can’t really remember because I haven’t played in about three months.
One thing I didn’t notice until after beating Plasma was that you never get to name your rivals. I thought that was interesting.
Just like in Generation III? The rival thing, I mean.
I know this thread is dead, but…
Yesterday I finally got around to playing SoulSilver again, after a long hiatus. Within two hours I had beaten Lance, although Karen’s Umbreon is caking ANNOYING! Also, when Lance sent out his third Dragonite, I said aloud, “You have GOT to be kidding me.”
So yeah. I beat the first half of a Pokémon game. *crickets*
The thing that annoys me most about Portal 2 is that there is absolutely NO CAKE in the entire game! GLaDOS doesn’t even talk about it once!
Because Valve became annoyed with all the people talking about the truth value of pastries.
Well, there is “GLaDOS emergency shutdown and cake dispensary.”
Plus, due to Wheatley’s general screwing-up of things, I think GLaDOS might have stopped trying…because she ran out of cake.
I reallyreally want Portal, but I seriously doubt my parents would let me buy/play a video game.
Rainbow–UGH me too. I think my parents would let me buy it and I have the money, but our shared computer has so much stuff on it I’d kind of be afraid to download anything.
On the other hand, if I could convince my dad to let me use his computer for this purpose…
Anyone who has Portal–does it work with macs? How much space does it take up..?
It does work with Macs, but as far as I know, they haven’t made Orange Box available for Macs yet. So you’ll have to download Steam and buy it straight from there. (Also, make sure your computer is fairly recent and has the necessary system requirements – I ran into that with my dinosaur of a MacBook.)
Steam itself takes up 135.5 MB on Macs, and Portal takes up another 1 GB.
What? For me, Steam took up 2 MB and Portal took up 5 GB.
WAIT
Google “portal flash game”. Problem solved.
I’m on level 15 and it’s so FUN! The directions are kind of creepy though. “These tests may affect your performance as a human being.” >_>
I’m playing the portal flash game. This is pretty fun :]
It’s hard with the keyboard though. I wish I had it with a real joystick or game controller.
Level 23! *happy dance*
People who have the real Portal: Is it anything like the Flash game?
No. It’s first person, and the AI is sadistic instead of just helpful. The gameplay is just about the same, though.
The basic idea’s the same, but there’s not much comparison between the two. It’s like the difference between a scratch-and-sniff sticker of a blueberry and a real fresh-baked blueberry pie.
The real Portal 2 has quite a few levels. I am always replaying it. There is still a lot of difference there, though.
Mikazuki- Portal is fine on Macs. I use a Macbook Pro. Portal for Macbook might be slow, since it only has a Dual core. Macbook Pro has i5.
Does anyone here still play Call of Duty- Black Ops?
Since you’re a neophyte, this will be nice, but instead of making multiple posts in a row in a short span of time, you should either reply to each person that you are talking to, or condense it into one post.
TL;DR – don’t double post, and when you do, apologize with SFTDP (Sorry for the double post)
I finished pokemon Black yesterday. Final team was Samurott, Watchog (I love my pissed-off meerkat), Swoobat, Scolipede, Sawsbuck, and Haxorus.
Now I’m gonna focus on training my traded over Rufflet and my Cranidos.
So! What does everyone think of the various E3 announcements so far? Minecraft for Kinect? The WiiU?
(Alert: Long post ahead)
I was a bit disappointed that the Star Wars: The Old Republic trailer was about half filled with clips from old trailers, but it had more Satele Shan and that battle in space, so I’m happy with what we’ve seen of the game so far
I’ve never been a Tomb Raider/survival horror fan before, but the trailer for the new game really caught my eye. I’ll have to give it a try when I get a new computer and become old enough to play M-rated games.
The trailers for the new Star Trek and Jurassic Park games look great. Ah, childhood sci-fi
I liked the Zelda 25th anniversary montage, particularly the footage of Link’s (girl?)friend in Skyward Sword.
All the updates/announcements for the 3DS made me pretty happy, in particular SF64 and Luigi’s Mansion 2.
WiiU….. I don’t like the name and the controller looks like it could be a little impractical to handle, but all the games they’ve been throwing out there look like great titles
We’re going to have to see what they’ve got at all the game demos, but so far? I’d say it’s a great success.
i think wii u looks amazing, personally. it opens up a ton of new possibilities.
I haven’t heard of the E3 announcements, but I did play a simple version of Minecraft on Kinect, only building, no exploring/crafting, and it was pretty interesting, but they’re going to need to make it better before I’ll consider it.
I bought Minecraft today. I will never be productive again.
I am nearly finished with a fortress. Huge trench, huge wall, huge trench. On top of the wall: cacti every other square. Inside I have a wheat farm, a sugar cane farm, and a cactus farm. Just outside the outer door I built a nice little dock for my boat. Inside the fortress is, of course, my house, which was originally a cave. I put in skylights. There’s even a basement, which is a huge cave system going straight down that I accidentally fell into within two minutes of starting the world. I must say, I’m glad I was able to find a couple veins of Redstone–having a map, a compass, and a clock makes things a lot easier.
Because I know you all care about this.
Oh! I forgot the best part.
In the entrance chamber to the house, I built a huge watchtower of glass so I can see over the wall. It’s like a big greenhouse.
Darn right we do.
Do you know what the system requirements for the game are? I wanted to get it, but my computer is still a dinosaur that can’t handle games like Portal or Harry Potter.
I don’t think there are specific requirements, but if it can’t handle Portal it’d probably be fairly laggy. In any case, everything’s handled online (as far as I can tell), so you can play it in-browser on a better computer, or when you get a new computer you won’t have lost anything.
Things aren’t necessarily online. If you have bought the game, you can download it, and then log in. After you’ve logged in once, if you have no internet, it will ask you if you want to play offline, and you can.
As for the lag problem, go to minecraft.net and play the free version, see how lagger that is. If it’s too laggy, try decreasing the render distance, putting the graphics on fast, disabling smooth lighting, and lowering the frame rate. That should speed it up considerably.
I love Minecraft, but ever since version 1.6 came out I can’t run it for more than six in-game days (about a realtime hour’s worth of progress) without crashing and losing all my saved games.
Weird. I don’t have any problem with it.
So tonight was my first time on multiplayer in Minecraft. Brand new server–the only things that had been built were a totem pole and a small tunnel leading to a mine. I spawned in the middle of the night in a herd of creepers. So now I have half a heart left and I can’t find any pigs anywhere. And I think there’s two spiders above me.
Welp. Platinum nuzlocke as soon as my friend trades me a Tailow. Here comes the flood of tears.
Last Minecraft post for a while (hopefully):
Today I played Minecraft with moot (yes, that moot) and some other people for a few hours. He kept blowing up our dang house.
What do you expect from the founder of 4chan?
I expected him to not be a noob. But he was. He thoroughly was. I don’t think he had played Minecraft much before.
HAVE FINISHED MYST! Now I belong among the ranks of intelligent people! And my avatar is now from a game I have actually completed!
Quick question for you guys:
As I said earlier on the thread, I’ve never played a real Pokemon game in 10 years of playing video games and I’m trying to get into the series. Which of the following would you say is the best start to the series out of the choices I’m considering – Emerald, Diamond/Platinum, SoulSilver, or White?
(And yes, Piggy, I know you said I should try the originals at some point. I’d like to, yes, but the problem is… I don’t have the time or the money to pay jacked-up prices for the originals on eBay or drive 12 miles to buy the remakes in the next two weeks.)
You could play the 1st and 2nd gen games on an emulator if you don’t want to buy them.
But I don’t like emulators
This may seem incredibly stubborn of me, but if I can’t go to the store and buy it whenever or I can’t ask for it at a holiday of some sort, I just don’t really feel the need to do anything besides wait for such a holiday.
Also, I’m looking at Ebay and Amazon, and the prices seem pretty reasonable? Obviously if you want to buy an original, unopened one, it’s gonna be pricey, but I see no reason to do that.
I’d suggest SoulSilver, as it’s a nice and lengthy sampler of everythig else the series has to offer. I haven’t played White, though, so I may not be the best judge.
Yes, SoulSilver. It’s my favorite one. I’ve hardly played my new White because I’m too busy with SoulSilver.
NEVER MIND GET WHITE
Sorry, I was talking to I-Man. I replied in the wrong place.
I got Red on Amazon for like $13.
I just got minecraft
I am [snipped] and I also figured out inventory hacks
That username is personally identifiable data; did the GAPAs mean to let that through?
And thus, Piggy spams Halomaniac’s Minecraft account with messages about how he shouldn’t have posted his username.
That sounds immeasurably dull.
Meh, agreed.
I have a question about Steam Play that I’m hoping someone here can answer. If you purchase a game once with Steam Play, does that mean you can play it on ANY computer that your Steam account is logged into, or just on one Mac and one PC?
I think you can play it on any computer with Steam – I don’t see why it would be otherwise.
I’ve been having a lot of fun with Minecraft lately. I spent too much time exploring on the first day in a new world, so when night fell I swam out to an island and covered it with torches in lieu of a shelter. I serendipitously found a massive clay deposit on my second in-game day, which I’m using to build a brick house.
I have that problem a lot too. Somehow I resisted it in my current world, which was difficult: spawn was in the middle of an enormous desert. But now I have a lovely cabin in the mountains, with two spectacular views. And nine dogs (I don’t know why).
Would people recommend me to get the beta version of Minecraft rather than the Classic?
I’ve never tried Classic, (for some reason I can’t do the online Minecraft, my computer never loads it) but I’ve had lots of fun in Beta.
Your choice, ultimately. If you’re going to buy Beta, I recommend you do so soon. I think the price goes up a month or two from now, when full release comes.
My cake, the Beta trumps the classic by millions. In classic, you can’t craft anything, you can’t blow up TNT, there are no mobs, there are no problems, you just walk around making things.
In Beta you can use redstone to make traps, make portals into the Nether to collect Glowstone and Netherack, there’s actually a point to the game, build a base and hopefully bed before night comes, while building torches to light it and a sword so you don’t get killed by monsters. *Draws in breath*
Anyway, YES!
Oh god minecraft. The caking boyfriend and his friends went and got me addicted to it x_x They have a server they all use so at the moment I’m just experimenting with building stuff in a random world offline. Gonna make a giant tower with a floating island ring around it and see how it looks. Tower’s half done. Also trying to work out a way to trap squid and keep them in a moat around it, although that may not work in the landscape I’m currently in (tower is on ice. Original plan was to have part underwater as well but might get lazy. I think when I build my giant tower/island on their server (they’re going to update it as soon as the new one comes out: apparently there are going to be villages of NPC pigmen!) I’ll not do it ver water and make it do all the way down as well so I can have a lava pit at the bottom. And I’ll find some way to get a moat/squid.
Probably gonna go play some soon while I wait for it to cool down a bit here so I can go for a walk. It’s very pretty where we are but 98ª, so cooling down inside for a while.
If you trap squid they’ll just despawn anyway, just make a moat and they’ll spawn in it naturally.
For the part underwater, a fun trick is to use a nether portal as the door, as you can go through those but water can’t
I ORDERED POKÉMON WHITE
ABOUT TIME
Wow. It’s…utterly amazing. As a video game, it’s fantastic; as a Pokémon game, it’s perfect.
I know, right?
This thread needs a reboot/sequel/continuation. How about it?
So, Minecraft: Pocket Edition was released a little while ago. Has anyone bought it? I don’t have any Android-based device.
I don’t have any sort of Android either, so no. I’m hoping for an iPad compatible release.
I don’t have an Android either. They announced Minecraft for iOS a while ago, so I hope Pocket Edition is a step toward the iPhone/iPad release.
I am so looking forward to when they have it on the ipod/iphone etc. I hope they don’t mess it up though…
Just got hooked on the most amazing iPod app- Zenonia 3. Graphics are a bit off, but the gameplay for walking around is a lot like pokemon, except there are a lot more cutscenes and battles aren’t turn-based.
Minecraft seed recommendation: Kim Il-sung
There’s an incredible bunching of mountains/surface caverns/floating islands/waterfalls/lakes around (x=-1255, z=-875). There’s also a less-impressive arch and jutting-out-bit near (x=-1075, z=-875). The jutting-out-bit I call (naturally) Suicide Point, which is further proven by the perfectly-shaped cross just before it. I also found a cozy little cove by (x=-1386, z=-591). I built a small canal that connects that lake system to a nearby larger one, so I can putz around in my boat.
If you were wondering, the seed “Kim Jong-il” is horrid. Nothing but snow and ice.
Snow and ice can be good sometimes. I don’t have any at all in my world, at least in the places I’ve explored so far. The main part was generated pre-biomes, of course. Which probably explains it.
Anyway, that map does sound nice. I’ll have to try it next time I get the chance. Is that an iL or an ii? I can’t quite tell.
Capital eye lowercase ell.
Okay, cool.
Now that the 3DS price has lowered $80 to $170 I am considering buying one… it was so worth it to wait this long!
Meh, I’m still waiting for the 3DS Lite or whatever. You know, the one that’ll fix all the hardware problems.
So I’m training a team in Pokemon Black for the repeat E4. I want it to be five members, one from each generation. I have Fearow from 1st, Yanma/Yanmega from 2nd, Mightyena from 3rd, Luxray, from 4th, and Mienshao from 5th. At least, that’s the lineup.
I wanted to breed and raise my own Mienfoo from scratch, just to make it feel special because all the others are Dream World pokemon.
I’ve just been looking at Mienshao’s stats and such, and I was thinking of going with something like Adamant/Jolly with Inner Focus and a moveset of Hi Jump Kick/Bounce/Swords Dance/U-Turn. Adamant or Jolly is to boost attack while lowering non-essential stats (none of my moves are special and its speed is stellar anyways), Inner Focus because I won’t be switching out often, I hope, and the moveset was sort of…thrown together. Now that I look at it, I kind of want to throw Drain Punch in there somewhere.
Any thoughts? I’m open to suggestions.
I just caught Kyurem with my fourth Ultra Ball. The highest leveled Pokémon on my team was my level 53 Samurott. WHAT NOW
Haha, I was too much of a wimp; all of my Pokemon were level 70.
You guys would know better than I: is there a free, legal version of Minecraft?
If, as I suspect, there isn’t, my brother’s lying.
There is– Minecraft Classic, available for free play on the Minecraft Website. However, you can’t mine or craft, and there are no mobs. You just build stuff.
Well, there’s the “classic” version you can play for free on the Minecraft website, but it’s hardly comparable to the current beta version.
There is a demo available on MinecraftForums. I think it’s user created, but the Forums are a trusted website and the source for all of my Minecraft downloads. It gives you 100 minutes of unlimited play.
Any of you Minecrafters played Vechs’ “Super Hostile” series of custom maps? I’m working on Infernal Sky right now and it is a pain.
Any Animal Crossing: Wild World players here?
I was obsessed with that game for a while.
Actually, that’s why I got a DS. And for a longish while the only reason I had one. I still only have three games for it.
Do you still have it? I recently got back into it.
Yep. I played it for a bit recently. It’s a fun game.
Me! I stopped after I got the mansion, though. Not much else to do after that.
Piggy! I got access to the Minecraft 1.8 pre-release. I don’t really know where to start, so I’ll just list what happened to my friends and I while playing,
We all spawned in at different times. B and I joined up, S (the owner of the server) went lone wolf. S found a village down the river, through the jungle and over the flatlands, so we started heading his direction. W spawned in, so I went back to help her towards the village. When we got there it was so perfect. On a redundant note, there were several obvious bugs. When a village spawns it lays down gravel paths all around and in it. There were glitchy level changes in which the gravel had spawned on a hill. However, the town had a nice farm in the center and glass pane windows, so I decided to make a home.
This was where I began dying, apparently randomly. I soon realized it was my new food bar, asking me to feed it. I punched a cow and got me some beef, which for some reason only healed my health. After grabbing some bread my level of hungry went from “Literally starving to death” to “Pretty darn hungry”. Also, you now have to RIGHT CLICK AND HOLD to eat, because the animation requires it. So if you try to eat and you start doing a funny little dance, just hold the button. Also, Endermen are creepy as all hell. They look creepy in the trailer, but once you actually play with them? AHHHHHHHHH
They drop little aqua/green Ender Pearls that do nothing yet that I can see. Also, killing mobs gives you experience now, in the form of little green bubbles lost upon death; they can, however, be recovered much like items.
I stumbled upon a massive ravine right next to the village. After calling my buddies over to take a look at it, W stumbled off and found a tiny cave. No one was interested in the ravine after that, let me tell you. In the cave there were four wooden plank beams running top to bottom. Upon entering we found chests with loot and a huge maze of semi-broken minecart tracks. There were flooded tunnels, LAVA flooded tunnels, mobs, everything. There were even secret passages in the flooded tunnels leading to more cave systems. I mean, holy crap, was it amazing! I went into single player (cool new things include F3 for world seed, and a toggle for Creative mode) and checked out Creative mode. New items include Iron Bars (windows) Glass Panes, and some other things I’ve forgotten. Oh, yeah. Stone Brick stuff, which is like brick but larger bricks and made out of Smooth Stone. Stairs, half blocks, stuff like that.
The new lighting system is so perfect. I actually gasped when I dropped a torch for the first time. It’s warm and friendly now!
I downloaded the leak too. I absolutely love the new lighting code too, and obviously the new biome system is fantastic. SO MANY MOUNTAINS! I adore it. As for Ender Pearls, I’ve heard that keeping one in your inventory makes Endermen teleport away from you instead of towards you, essentially making them a non-threat. I haven’t tried that myself, so that might be incorrect, but that’s what I’ve heard. You can also wear a pumpkin on your head to prevent them from becoming hostile (that one I’m more certain of).
I found a bug as well: when you go deep underwater, you know how it gets really dark? And how if you put a torch down there it just turns back into an item? Well, if you do that, the light stays there even though the torch doesn’t stay attached. Unlimited underwater lighting!
Have the chickens been dropping a lot more eggs than they used to? After two or three days on SSP, I had picked up almost a dozen eggs without even looking for them.
I have yet to find any abandoned mines or strongholds or villages. Admittedly, I’ve only put in about an hour of play time. I’m sure I’ll find some soon. I’ve been derping around in Creative Mode, building little floating villages in the new ocean biome. It’s also fun making tents out of the giant red mushrooms.
Yes, I think all the mobs drop more stuff now. The zombies, for example, drop rotting flesh. The cows now drop beef. It’s not just new items, it’s also quantity, I think. The mountains and jungles look amazing.
I wonder if the same glitch occurs with glowstone or pumpkin lanterns (I call them that because of my texture pack)? We should test that.
The abandoned things are massively worth it to find, but make sure you sleep to set the spawn point. Also, I’ve noticed something; it seems that when you pop in and out of a bed on SMP, it locks the spawn there whether you sleep the whole night or not. This might have been around for a while, though, I’m not sure.
If you’re looking for an SMP server I’m running one right now with about 5 regulars. We’re almost done with a huge castle. From there we’re moving to Helm’s Deep. If you’d like to help or just hang out on the server you’re more than welcome.
If there were some way to exchange that information, I’d like to join the server, but alas, I don’t think there is, what with MB rules.
With consent of both parties, are the GAPAs able to swap two people’s emails in emails to each person?
We’ll do that for parents, or I suppose for anyone 18 years old or older.
Make sense, this does. Am I allowed to post a Dynamic DNS? (A custom URL of my choice, that, when used in Minecraft, will forward to my IP/server)
You could try. I’d really like to find a different server. The one I usually play on (the server that moot plays on (and still gets himself blown up a ton)) has some pretty serious griefing most of the time.
How buggy is the pre-release? I’m considering downloading it, but I don’t want to be disappointed after all the hype; it might be better to wait until the official release when they’ve worked all that out.
Jeb_ said he’s going to update the prerelease today or tomorrow with the bug fixes he’s gotten so far. It’s really not that buggy. There’s only one really bad bug, and it’s quite rare. It causes a group of a few dozen zombies or creepers to randomly spawn by you. But like I said, that’s pretty dang rare–I don’t know anyone that’s had it happen to them. I’d say the awesome new things far outweigh the few bugs. (There’s sprinting! And fence gates!)
Well, 1.8 is officially out now. *puts on hipster glasses* I was playing it when it was still underground.
Looks like the hipsters just got *puts on sunglasses* updated. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
OMGGGG 1.8 IS AMAZING!!!!!!
Water is a lot more clear now, I like that, it makes it much easier to find clay. I LOVE the new torches, it feels so amazing to have the colored light thing. I haven’t met the endermen yet, though I’ve seen every other mob many times- it must be rarer how rare is it?
Also, I haven’t found any villages yet. How rare are they, what are they like, etc? And does anyone konw how to get melons besides using mods/cheats/creative?
Wait a sec, you can wear a pumpkin on your head? *goes to see this for self*
Yup. Pumpkins have been wearable for a long time, although not everyone knows it (I only found out a couple weeks ago).
The Endermen are buggy as all Nether. They don’t work at all for me. However, 1.8.1 released earlier today. I have hopes that it fixed the Endermen bug, but I haven’t played it yet. Enderment aren’t really rare. You just have to walk around for a while at night.
Don’t know about the melons. I do know that villages seem to only spawn on grassland, though, usually near a ravine. They have gravel pathways and wells, smithies, houses, beds and crafting tables.
And yes, the lighting is beautiful.
I believe that, at least for the time being, villages are technically their own biome because that was the simplest way for Notch to make them.
Are they really? It makes sense…
I have only seen villages on grassland so far, however.
I found some melon seeds in a chest in an abandoned mine. They grow really oddly, spawning a melon next to a full grown plant
Neku is in Kingdom Hearts 3D
SQUEE.
All right: seed: 1448524118, coordinates: X = -873, Y = 35, Z = 44. A stronghold which connects to a series of abandoned mines. If you’re exploring the mines and you fine the enormous underground ravine (which is really majestic and also filled with beautiful lavafalls and waterfalls), you should find what I’ve dubbed the Hallway of Death–a mine shaft that is filled (as in, no air blocks at all) with cobwebs except for two monster spawners. Naturally, I’ve decided I’m going to clear that hallway. Urk.
Status update on clearing the Hallway from Hell:
I–I can’t do it. I give up. I’m out of torches, out of food. I’m absolutely and completely lost. I thought I found the ravine again, but it was a completely different but more enormous one filled with lava. There’s so many spiders. The only things I can see are lava, monster spawners, and eyes. So many eyes. I can’t do it anymore. I found some gravel, I’m going to suffocate myself. I just didn’t think it would be so big, so deep. Sometimes I think I hear the screams of the men that built these mines. Maybe it’s just echoes of my own voice.
You should write a Minecraft book.
I’m sure someone else could write it much better than I could. And since the game keeps getting updated, there would constantly be aspects of the book which are outdated.
Do you do NaNoWriMo? I’m sure you do, and I could go back and dig through the archives but I’m too lazy.
Nope, I don’t.
Creative mode quickly grows boring, but for a while the ennui is overwhelmed by the sheer rush of power. I’m busily terraforming the Nether.
I don’t know, I like the freedom of creative mode. I’m building some Anasazi-style cliff dwellings.
Says my brother, “Look! I can fly!”
So I just got Portal and was all excited. But, turns out I have to update my video card for it to work. I’m reasonably certain Portal is older than my computer. :/
Update the card or the driver?
I fully intend to. It’s mostly a question of needing help from my anti-video-game father.
SFTDP, but I realized about two seconds after posting that I read that wrong.
I’m not exactly sure, but I think both.
Oh, and by the way, in case some of you guys didn’t know yet:
PORTAL.
IS.
FREE.
(Again.)
So Mojang already released the first pre-release of 1.9. Lot of new nether stuff (blocks, mobs, strongholds), lighting bugs fixed, slightly adjusted lava/water interactions, liquids leaking through blocks, snow golems. Right now you can’t hold down spacebar to keep jumping–you have to press it for every single jump. Apparently that’s related to experimenting with fixing some bugs related to experience points and should be changed back soon.
Ack, I forgot the big one. Apart from adjustment of the swamp biome (leaves are darker, water is darker, lily pads), there’s NPCs in villages now!
If anyone knows the seed/coordinates of a nether stronghold, let me know–I can’t find any. Dang this is a neat update, even if the NPCs do look like Squidward and say, “TESTIFICATE”.
OK, monster post ahead
So, I live in a rural area, and it’s so rural that there is no broadband cable whatsover that reaches my house. So, for a while, we used dial-up, but then we switched to mobile broadband from Sprint. Using that, it is miles faster, but we have a limited allotment of download/uploads per month, so we have to limit ourselves in no youtube videos, minecraft servers, etc.
However, one thing that our internet does have going for it is that it is mobile, and therefore it takes the form of a black box that we can take anywhere. Also, it has a little slot in it that you insert an SD card into, and therefore can store files in it that any comuputer connected to the wifi it emits can access. This use of it does not take up any of our usage per month, which means we can print things using a wireless printer from any computer in our house, and access certain files from any computer in our house.
Anyway, the point of this post, and why I posted it on the computer and video games thread, is this: Would I be able to set up Minecraft server using this “local” connection that any computer that is hooked up the the wifi could use? And how, as I have never set up a Minecraft server before.
I honestly have no clue about the whole Sprint/SD/black box thing.
However, I have set up multiple servers and so could most certainly walk you through the entire process of port forwarding and hosting if you’d like me to.
For your questions about wireless access and stuff I can recommend you to techsupportforum. People there are very knowledgeable about this sort of thing, I used them to aid in my computer building.
Thanks, I’ll try that.
If you haven’t downloaded the second prerelease of 1.9, you really need to. It’s a lot of fun, and it seems a lot less laggy. Breeding animals! And continuous jumping is back. And fences attach to blocks. And nine more music discs. And endermen have been adjusted severely–they teleport to dodge arrows, and they teleport themselves out of water, and they have more health, and they don’t die in sunlight. You can also repair items, and you can throw ender pearls to teleport. My favorite small adjustment: Notch fixed the hitbox on fences.
Awesome. I’m building a Fallout-themed texture pack, too. I’ll link you to the MinecraftForums or something once I’ve posted it, see what you think.
…BUT THE FENCES WERE ON PURPOSE!
If you are a 11 year old who get’s a weird feeling something’s behind you, would portal scare you to death?
No, Portal’s not a “scary” type of game.
Probably not. Some of Ratman’s graffiti is a little creepy, but it’s mostly helpful. And the turrets, while dangerous and full of bullets, are too cute to be scary IMHO.
I have purchased Portal from Steam. for exactly$ 9.99.
OK, new minecraft problems
So, I decided to try a new texture, so I decided to do a big one for a change, so I tried a 256×256 one. It wouldn’t work, so I used the mc patcher again, and now minecraft gives me a black screen right after I log on…. help?
SFTDP
I tried deleting the bin, and redownloaded it by opening minecraft, and now it comes up with a weird “Mojang Specifications” thing and the weirdest texture I have never seen before in my life, added onto the fact it is extremely laggy…
What did you delete? There’s no one thing called “the bin”.
In the .minecraft folder, there’s a folder called “bin” which I deleted as per the instructions I found for troubleshooting on the mc Patcher page.
What do you mean, get a clean version of the jar? I redownloaded minecraft.exe if that’s what you’re talking about, but it still doesn’t work
Sftdp again
I did th unpatch option of the mc patcher, and now minecraft works but textures don’t. Repatching causes the same error
Yeah, it’s done that for me before too. Just get a clean version of the .jar.
Alright, nevermind, after much fiddling I hath fixed it
How many gold dusts to Zombie pigmen drop in the prerelease?
Either zero or one.
So assuming a 50% chance… 18 kills to get 1 ingot x 9 equals 162 kills to get a single gold block!
There goes my plan to cover my bases floor in blocks now that it was so “easy” to get…
And I doubt it’s a 50% chance. And taking into consideration you pretty much have to have full diamond armor and a diamond sword to fight zombie pigmen, it’s just not worth it.
Things I have said while playing Portal:
1. “Platform, come back! I’m sorry, I didn’t mean all those things I said! We can make things right again! Please come back …”
2. “This wouldn’t happen if I wasn’t so fat.”
3. “I have an idea! An idealicious idea!”
4. “I’m so sorry, inanimate lump of metal.”
Level 18, btw. Almost finished, with only a bit of help from YouTube! ‘(8u8)b*
It must be something about the game. I played it with a group of friends, and by the end we had names for most of the various repeated strategies, as well as several other random things.
I actually had a fairly easy time with chamber 18, mostly due to a shortcut I discovered for the turret bit. I might actually submit that idea I figured out to some video game cheats site.
*waits for someone to ask what his strategy was*
What his strategy was?
Has anyone seen/played the new Portal 2 DLC?
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS FOR REST OF POST SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS FOR REST OF POST SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS FOR REST OF POST
The ending was so funny! “Ah! It’s the bird! Abort! Abort!” “…that taught me a valuable lesson–she’s generating a clone army! Smash them!” The only thing that scares GLaDoS is that bird. It was just soooo hilarious!!!
But it was a bit morbid how she went through all those humans in just a week. And she’ll likely kill those baby birds, too. Or maybe she values bird life over human life.
I got to the final boss battle on Portal! …
Sadly, I am now stuck. How do you detach the other sphere-things from GLaDOS?
To detach the cores from the Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System, simply aim the rocket turret at the cores using patented portal technology.
Thanks! *hugs and virtual choklit* Off to do my giant pile of homework so I can finish the game.
I.
Beat.
Portal.
KESESESE~ WHO’S NOT A FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE NOW, GLADOS? HUH?
And, Still Alive … wow. I mean, I already knew it was the most epic song ever, but it’s just not the same until you hear it after actually beating the game.
This was a triumph…
I’m making a note here, HUGE SUCCESS.
It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction.
(Castle, you should have realized that this was inevitable. Unless, of course, you did, and this was your intention.)
Aperture Science…
We do what we must. BECAUSE WE CAN.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.
Can anyone think of a rhyme for “Wake up in the morning feeling like P-Body”?
WIN.
“Grab that Atlas, I’m out the door, gon’ have a portal party.”
Or something like that. I’m somewhat well-versed in parodying this particular song (see MuSE BLoG), so I may be a bit opinionated, but if you like it…
For some reason, the only thing that comes to mind is “hot toddy”. I doubt that’s what you’re looking for.
Honestly, I’m too tired.
“Stop talking to me, Wheatley, your designs are shoddy”

So here we are again…. (yes, i am blatently copying Castle. I am sorry Castle, but this song needs to be sung out over several days as well!)
It’s WELL. WELL here we are again. Not so.
It’s always such a pleasure.
Remember when you tried to kill me twice?
Oh, how we laughed and laughed.
Except I wasn’t laughing.
Under the circumstances, I’ve been SHOCKINGLY nice.
Science Don’t Stop, a Portal parody
Wake up in the morning feeling like P-Body
Grab my cube, I’m out the door, gonna have a portal party
Aperture Science running tests on us mortals
But when I leave for the day, I’ll be thinking with portals
I’m talking testing out the portal gun, gun
Cause there’s experiments to run, run
Till all the science is done, done
Drop-drop-drop-dropping turrets on the floor, floor
Turn the corner, there’s more, more
Burning up GLaDOS cores, cores …
Don’t stop, make it pop
Gonna blow Aperture up
Tonight I’mma fight till I see the sunlight
Tick-tock, on the clock, but the science don’t stop, no
Whoa whoa who-oah, whoa whoa who-oah
Ain’t got a care in the world, but got plenty of cake
Keep messing up on this chamber – HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
And GLaDOS says come back, cause she’s apparently worried
But I’ll ignore anything that doesn’t look like a turret
I’m talking testing out the portal gun, gun
Cause there’s experiments to run, run
Till all the science is done, done
Drop-drop-drop-dropping turrets on the floor, floor

((It’s mostly about Portal 1 because I haven’t actually played Portal 2. Sorry.))
I’m recording this and making a video. This simply must be shared with the world.
Use auto-tune. That’s a big part of it.
Can you send in the video to MB when you’re done?
Parodies and fanart are how I will spend my time until I can get Portal 2 for Christmas. *waits impatiently*
I absolutely hate the song this is a parody of, but this parody is GENIUS.

SFTDP Finished Portal 2
There are no words.
Nice. I haven’t had much time to play. My schoolwork is being REALLY troublesome, but I have gotten to the mid-game twist.
I’ve taken to being extra-sympathetic to turret-cubes. They look so helpless; I actually feel sorry for them. Things I’ve said to them include:
“It’s okay, little guy. You’ll get off that button in a moment.”
“NO! No…why did you have to drop into that pit? No…”
“There, I’ve got you. Nothing to be afraid of now.”
Well, I beat Minecraft. Fantastic. It’s ridiculously hard to beat the end boss, but the incredible endgame narration is well worth it. I just got done transcribing it, for science. Very excellently written, and it really changes your view of the game.
Yeah, I beat it too (Though on creative… I was too lazy to attempt it on a real game). I took subsequent screenshots using F2. The narrations was excellent.
Not sure if trolling or just 1.9 Prerelease.
Prerelease 6, to be specific.
Just got Braid after it got put on sale. Beautiful game, incredibly deep story and mechanics, but…
WHY MUST IT BE SO OBSCURE AND CRAZILY DIFFICULT AND AHHHHHHHH
Okay, so I just got Minecraft from a friend and it loads the world and suddenly the Black Screen of Death comes up. *sigh* I think the memory might be the problem. Memory’s never been a problem for me, so I don’t know what to do.
(I have Windows XP, I think.)
MINECRAFT ON IPHONE
EXCEPT IT’S JUST THE CREATIVE MODE
I CAN’T TELL IF I’M EXCITED OR ANGRY
SFTDP, but the Mac App Store is WONDERFUL. With the money I saved by my parents getting me Portal 2, I was able to get VVVVVV, Braid, Trine, pinball, and (of course) Angry Birds.
I am complete.
GET MINECRAFT: PE! It’s out today!
I have just ordered the newest iPod touch. I’d been considering the purchase for almost a year, but the last straw was when I bought Minecraft: Pocket Edition today and I couldn’t play it because my 2nd gen iPod touch was incapable of running the required OS. So in a fit of fury and longing for those gorgeous twin 8mp cameras and glossy white finish I up and bought the new iPod.
Life.
I can’t. I’ve spent too much money on laundry and going out to eat and books. Maybe I’ll get iTunes money for Christmas.
I love it simply for the sheer pleasure of making an infinitely tall chimney and building a ladder up to it. It astonishes me that there’s an actual game that will eventually be added.
Woohoo, Minecraft has officially been released! It’s a real game now! *confetti*
GAPAs, perhaps a new version of this thread could be created in honor of the occasion? 555 comments is getting a bit long, I think.
