I dunno, some of us who’ve been around for a long time don’t really capitalize or punctuate that thoroughly… generally it seems that as long as you’re literate and aren’t making your posts hard to read (i.e. through chatspeak, l33t, etc) you’ll do fine.
Besides, as we have mentioned numerous times before, the Welcome page is not the place for this. (Since you’re addressing a friend, you can say something offblog).
