Enceladus’s Webcomic

Six letters, delivered on the same day, at the same time.
All for the same purpose- or perhaps purposes?
Whatever.
All that matters is that the letters have been delivered.

So it begins…

    Squee! Thank you GAPAs! ♥

I have many a twist planned.

Now, I’d just like you all to vote on which envelope’s recipient should be the 1st introduced (and closest to “central”) character.

The one with the hot-pink seal, of course! It’s bad luck, and suffering helps the plot and character development.

Here’s the text that goes with this:

One of the six letters has arrived-
well, there are more than six letters.
One of the six letters important to us.
A young man reads a letter from an old acquaintance.
It’s the acquaintance that is old- the young man has not known him for a very long time.
This letter is an invitation- a formal weekeng visit at the old acquaintance’s house.
How surprising- neither really likes each other very much.
As business competitors, they’ll have a lot to talk about.

Very interesting so far, there’s a definite And Then There Were None feel to it. I also noticed that Paul Verdan has got a green look going, while Amelia Rogue is reddish. Verdan sounds like Vert, which is french for Green, and Rogue is very similar to Rouge, which is French for red. I’m assuming this was intentional?

I’ve not read much by Agatha Christie, but this definitely has that sort of feel about it. I rather like this so far, Enceladus, and the art style seems to match the vibe exceedingly well. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

    Enceladus panel, 4 August 2011

At the same time, (but not quite),

A letter is crushed in the hands of a university professor. This is odd, seeing as it is a invitation from his dean for a weekend visit. The professor, Alexander Mariner, clearly does not favor his dean.

But he plans to go anyway. Out of spite, perhaps?

Both grammatical errors so far have been extra commas. Interesting.
Mariner? I get the feeling he’s also very formal, as is Amelia Rogue. I wonder if all the letter recepients are…

In post 20, it’s between the words ‘business’ and ‘and.’ In post 25, it’s between ‘time’ and ‘but.’ Or it could have been kept and the parentheses left out (and yes, I know this is a fragment, but it sounds awkward otherwise). You can’t have both, though.

It’s not a compound predicate. The predicate actually only has one verb that’s doing anything–‘hope’. The other two, ‘to discuss’ and ‘[to] turn’, are objects of ‘hope’.

I like the way that you showed the scrunched-up letter, Enceladus. Actually, I just really like this page in general. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next! I think that having different colors for different people is…interesting. In a good way. Now that’s we’ve seen green, red, and blue, I’m extremely curious about purple and yellow. So, yeah.
