Enceladus’s Webcomic

Six letters, delivered on the same day, at the same time.
All for the same purpose- or perhaps purposes?
Whatever.
All that matters is that the letters have been delivered.

So it begins…

    Squee! Thank you GAPAs! ♥

I have many a twist planned.

Now, I’d just like you all to vote on which envelope’s recipient should be the 1st introduced (and closest to “central”) character.

GAPAs, I was expecting this to be on the visual arts thread- perhaps you could post a notice for other people who thought that too?

Hum, so far 2 votes for Red, a vote for Green, and one for Blue… Of course, the final decision is up to me, but don’t worry, you’ll get to know and love (or possibly hate) them all.

    Hmm…

I vote the purple one. I like the color, and if they correspond with the sketches you showed me the way I think they do, en seems like an interesting character.

    Okay guys.

Voting will close tomorrow afternoon, at 15:00 blog time.

I’ll be away for 4 weeks, but I’ll try and have 4 sketches done by that time. It doesn’t take much time for me to refine them on the computer, surprisingly.

Nevertheless, it’s quite annoying when your table in English class is reading a play aloud, and everyone else wants to talk like Yoda but doesn’t know how, so they say things like, “What want you do?” “Money your bags.”

Here’s the text that goes with this:

One of the six letters has arrived-
well, there are more than six letters.
One of the six letters important to us.
A young man reads a letter from an old acquaintance.
It’s the acquaintance that is old- the young man has not known him for a very long time.
This letter is an invitation- a formal weekeng visit at the old acquaintance’s house.
How surprising- neither really likes each other very much.
As business competitors, they’ll have a lot to talk about.

      Plans are formed, destinies set.

Just one, really (that I noticed, anyway): There was an extra comma. Come to think of it, I found another spelling error, too. Was wekend intentional?
Wait a moment… Since when do people use ‘RSVP’ as a closing? That was almost definitely intentional, but I don’t know why… It’ll be quite interesting to find out!

  20. The latest:

Fast forward to May 29th, afternoon. Paul, owning no car, needed to ride with another guest — Amelia Rogue. She’s very quiet, and has an almost Oriental look about her. She obviously knows where his summer house is. Is she Mr. Owen’s friend? Ex-wife? Paul has no idea what she’s doing at what he believes to be a business meeting.

Very interesting so far, there’s a definite And Then There Were None feel to it. I also noticed that Paul Verdan has got a green look going, while Amelia Rogue is reddish. Verdan sounds like Vert, which is french for Green, and Rogue is very similar to Rouge, which is French for red. I’m assuming this was intentional?

  23. Next panel.

    Enceladus panel, 4 August 2011

At the same time, (but not quite),

A letter is crushed in the hands of a university professor. This is odd, seeing as it is a invitation from his dean for a weekend visit. The professor, Alexander Mariner, clearly does not favor his dean.

But he plans to go anyway. Out of spite, perhaps?

  30. Panel 5 and its text:

    Simultaneously, (but not quite)
An old nurse wipes a tear from her eye — Lilian Page
A mad violinist is hired — James Rosin
A sharpshooter shoots an invitation, yet still plans to go — Joan Y. Donahue

All these characters shall meet each other
And they shall never escape each other
    Or their Destinies.
